If you start to notice a sore throat you may find it helpful to consume orange or yellow fruits and vegetables such as carrots, apricots and dark green vegetables, spinach is a good example. Vitamin C is contained within the lemon juice which helps stimulate your saliva glands thereby soothing your irritated membranes, and the warm honey also acts as a natural throat soother.
Sore throats ordinarily persist for around 3 to 4 days however, if your sore throat continues for longer than this period, then you should consult your doctor or medical practitioner given prolonged symptoms may indicate other conditions such as mumps or glandular fever.
