A large number of people may experience sudden mood fluctuations from time to time, wherey they feel low and generally unhappy. These changes however usually rectify themselves in a few hours / days. An extended period of negative emotions is required to be present for depression to be considered. The condition can be reclassified from mild to severe depending on the number and level of symptoms that an individual is suffering from.
