If you have been trying to treat toenail fungus by using homemade remedies like vinegar and Listerine then you probably already know just how effective that route really is. I have been trying to deal with my toenail fungal infection for quite a while as well and I can truly say that there comes a time when you really get tired of making time to keep doing the exact same thing for an embarrassing situation repeatedly and it does you absolutely no good.
I have been there and used practically all the other possible cures that could be used when trying to find an effective way to treat toenail fungus, and I have come to the conclusion that when your fungal infection is really bad, those homemade remedies just aren’t cut out for doing the kind of damage that you would like them to do.
You see for a person that has a very strong toenail fungus, homemade treatments will only cure the surface of the infection, which will leave the root of the problem intact to keep producing fungus which is why when you use treatments like Listerine or vinegar the problem will always come back whenever you stop using them.
The best way to treat toenail fungus is to not treat it at all and just kill it. But first before you eliminate it you have to destroy the conditions that fungus thrives in like dark, hot and moist places like sweaty socks when you go to bed especially.
It would be a good idea not to wear socks at all when you go to bed because that would lessen the chances of your feet sweating. Try to keep your feet as clean and dry as possible and get in the habit of wearing white cotton socks which will allow your feet to breathe a bit more during the day. Stay away from socks with dyes in them because they tend to bleed into the fungus when your feet sweat.
Last but not least, once you have effectively destroyed its natural habitat you should use something stronger than Listerine or vinegar to finish it off. Use something that is sure to get beyond the surface of the infection and not have any side effects as well.
