Health Club Marketing is As Easy As Thanking Your Members!

Thank you notes, as part of your overall health club marketing strategy, are easily one of the best ways to get prospects to come to you. Nearly all of your competitors are missing this incredibly simple, yet rarely used form of health club marketing. Write thank you notes to guests, new members, old members, associates, and employees.

For every person who tours your facility, follow up with a thank you note. Whether they join or not, they should receive a thank you note in their mailbox or email box within 48 hours. Obviously, this emphasizes the importance of collecting addresses and email addresses on a guest register. An example of a guest thank you letter would be, “It was great meeting with you today. I sincerely hope you will consider becoming a member. I know you’ll love it here! When you’re ready, just drop in or call me at 555-555-5555.”

Even those people you feel won’t be returning and feel it may be a waste of time, you will be nicely surprised by the number of those people who will respond positively to a thank you note. I know this is hard to do, but it is very important. They’ll be researching other fitness competitors in the area as well and will probably need a couple of days to compare before deciding. How many thank you notes do you think they will receive during those days of considering? Only one…Yours! Send the thank you note right after the presentation is finished, preferably on the same day. Let the note include only your thanks. Do not try to resell them in the thank you note. Assure them that you are there if needed and include your contact number and email address.

All of your new members should also receive a thank you note immediately after signing up as part of your health club marketing strategy. Your note to new members can say, “Thank you for becoming a member! Do not hesitate to ask if we can do anything to enable you to reach your fitness goals.   Included you will find a few day passes for your friends. We will be happy to pay for a month of your membership for every friend you send us! Thanks again!”

Your current members like to feel appreciated too so do not limit thank you notes to just your prospects and new members, especially since they’re the ones paying your bills. At least every six months, your entire membership base should be sent a letter of thanks. Something straight to the point; “Just a quick Thank You for being our member! Without you we would not exist and we sincerely value your decision to continue to be a part of our family. If you need any help reaching your fitness goals, please do not hesitate to contact us.” If you like, you can also mention a gift. “Be sure to drop by the front desk to sign up for our email newsletter and receive a free water bottle!”

And last but not least, do not forget to thank your employees, business partners, and area retailers; anyone who has helped with your promotions, or anyone who has helped refer you members and improve your business. It displays good character. When was the last time you received a thank you note from an associate or a boss? The answer is probably never. When you mail or email a note of thanks to one of your employees or associates, it is not forgotten for a long time. So send a quick thank you to all of your employees, no matter how much they may tease you for being a softy, deep down they will feel valued. Same goes for anyone in your community who often goes above and beyond in helping you build your business.

Get into the habit of sending thank you notes and immediately work your way into the hearts and minds of your prospects, members, and everyone else who your fitness business relies on!

Many of these people often have to go weeks or even months of physical therapy in order to recover from stroke.

The main reason that these symptoms happen is because when blood flow is stopped in a specific area of the brain, neural connections that are damaged and many neurons in this area die. These connections are those that control all of these functions (walk, speech, vision …). There is a new medicine available that helps the brain to form new neural connections over a period of time. This enables stoke recovery for the sufferers. The main attribute that stroke victims need to understand is that although there are alternative medicines that can help in recovery, a proper rehab program is still cruel.

You should start your rehab program right away as soon as you are discharged from the hospital. Hospitals should have onsite rehab programs and you can choose to go through the exercises there. Arthritis in Pets

Lameness and loss of mobility in pets can be taken as symptoms of an arthritic condition. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritic ailment in both humans and animals but consulting with a veterinarian may introduce you to other forms of arthritis that your pet may be suffering from.

Types of Arthritis in Pets

Osteoarthritis – The most prevalent form of arthritis, osteoarthritis is associated with a reduction of cartilage in the joints often due to aging and normal wear and tear from strenuous and repetitive activities as well as traumatic injuries involving the joints. Affected joints are usually the weight-bearing joints such as the knees and hips but may affect other bodily joints as well.

Auto-immune Arthritis – This is a type of arthritis commonly associated with rheumatoid arthritis where the animal's immune system wrongly attacks the body's joints causing the inflammation of the joints' synovial membrane.

Acute Traumatic Arthritis – Unlike osteoarthritis which is often a slow progressive joint disease occurs as a consequence of traumatic injuries to the joints. Loss of mobility due to pain and inflammation is often taken as a symptom. In most cases, surgical therapy is suggested or required to prevent the onset of permanent osteoarthritis.

Hypertrophic Arthritis – Generally a result of traumatic injuries or osteoarthritis, hypertrophic arthritis is signified by the formation of bone spurs in the animal's joints as a result of eroded cartilages. Bone spurs affects the animal's mobility because of pain which results from the friction produced as bones rub one another.

Shoulder Degeneration – Sluggishness in pets in performing usual and easy activities may be signs of shoulder degeneration. This type of arthritis affects the sliding joints of the shoulder and has multiple causes but is often due to joint injuries or the proliferation of infectious agents eroding the cartilage of the joints in the shoulders

Hip Dysplasia – A common derivative of osteoarthritis, the condition affects the hip joints of the animal requiring to injury, wear and tear or infection.

Knee Stifle and Knee Dislocation – Lameness signals these two conditions. The former is caused by an injury in the animal's knee joints due to torn ligaments causing the body part to weakened with continuous use. Lack of treatment may result in the dislocation of the kneecap or malformation that leads to the second condition and will severely impair the animal from moving with usual ease.

Common Treatments of Arthritis in Animals

The most ordinary treatments have to do with palliative drugs known as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) that swiftly reduces and relieved pain. Although widespread use of NSAIDs along with corticosteroids is believed to alleviate the signs of arthritis in both pets and humans, it does little to no help in treating the ailment and is more often than not coupled with gastrointestinal side effects.

Modern scientific research introduced sufferers of arthritis to dietary supplements that have glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate in its formulation. An example is Flexicose Liquid JointCare for Pets that combines the two ingredients. Anecdotal evidences and some clinical trials have shown the efficacy of Flexicose's dietary supplement. Glucosamine has been known to aid in the building and repairing of joint cartilages with the help of chondroitin. Moreover, Flexicose Liquid Glucosamine also relieves pain and inflammation with its anti-inflammatory ingredients such as yucca and bromelain.

The Benefits of Blending Ginkgo and Gotu Kola

Each of these two world renowned herbs are often use together with enhanced effects as a powerful brain tonic. Ginkgo Biloba benefits include circulatory and memory augmentation which works perfectly alongside Gotu kola benefits as a brain booster and nervous system relaxer. Certain medicinal extracts are now available that combined the two healing properties of both these amazing herbs.

Benefits of Ginkgo and Gotu Kola Herbal Extracts:

Increases blood flow to the brain

Promotes longevity and anti-aging effects

Protects the brain against dangerous free radicals

Advances capillary utilization

Gives the brain the ability to handle stress more effectively

The uses Gotu kola (Centella asiatica) have been used as medicine since prehistoric times in India and in the science of Ayurveda. It was used both internally and externally in Indonesia, with its known effects to heal wounds and relieve leprosy.

Ginkgo Biloba can be traced back to ancient China and the traditions of using ginkgo to treat the brain and alleviate symptoms of coughs and allergies. Standardized extracts are still used widely today in medical establishments in France and Germany.

In China it is one of the reported “miracle elixirs of life”. Gotu kola extract holds the reputation as an herb that promotes longevity. This stems from the report of Chinese herbalist Li Ching Yun, who lived to be 256 years of age. Li Ching Yun’s longevity was supposedly a result of his regular use of an herbal mixture chiefly composed of Gotu kola.

The brain requires basically two things to provide energy: glucose and oxygen. A Ginkgo Biloba extract is extraordinary in its ability to prevent metabolic disturbances in the experimental models of insufficient blood supply to the brain. This is achieved by an enhanced utilization of oxygen and an increased cellular uptake of glucose, thus restoring energy production.

Gotu kola or is an herbaceous perennial plant native to Asian and Indonesia. This viney, creeping plant flourishes in and around water, although it grows best in damp, swampy areas. Gotu kola is often found growing along stone walls or other rocky, sunny areas at elevations of approximately 2,000 feet in regions of the world.

It is also beneficial to:

Cellulite

Wound healing

Mental function

Varicose veins

Scleroderma

The primary active constituents of Gotu kola are known to be the triterpenoid compounds. Its extracts were incorporated into the Indian pharmacopeia, where it was recommended for treatment of various skin conditions such as lupus, varicose ulcers, eczema and psoriasis. It was also used to treat diarrhea, fever, amenorrhea, and diseases of the female urinary tract.

Why They Are Good For The Brain

A significant increase in the mental abilities in a number of case studies using Gotu kola benefits has been reported. It’s triterpenes have demonstrated mild tranquilizing, anti-stress and anti-anxiety action via enhancement of cholinergic mechanisms. Presumably this mechanism is responsible for the enhancement of mental function as well.

Ginkgo Biloba benefits the brain include membrane stabilization, free radical scavenging, and antioxidant advantages. It is a most effective inhibitor of lipid per-oxidation of cellular membranes. This results in the health enhancement of brain and nerve cells to function optimally.

Both Ginkgo Biloba extract and Gotu kola are well tolerated when taken orally. They work well together and seem to promote and increase the healing properties of one another.

7 Stages of Cancer Development

You must have heard of this statistic that out of every 3 of us, one of us will get cancer. But do you know that back in 1901, only 1 in 8,000 got cancer? Our body actually tries in so many ways to give us all the warnings and symptoms to tell us that something is not right and we need to do something about it!

Let us see from the Holistic Health Science point of view how cancer develops in 7 stages.

First stage, Enervation.

It is not recognized as a disease yet. Most people will just feel tired, exhausted and worn-out at this stage. The best way to recover from enervation is to get enough sleep as sleep is the greatest energy charger! Inadequate sleep and rest are the main causes of enervation.

Second stage, Toxemia or intoxication.

Toxemia is a state where toxins saturate our body. This happens when we fail to observe our capacities and ignore the symptoms of enervation. We continue to overwork, sleep late and are under great stress.

Third stage, Irritation is when we feel itchy and uncomfortable, or when we have irritating but not painful areas.
Irritation results from toxic substances being sensed by our nervous system. Our body is giving us signal to move away from this condition.

Fourth stage, Inflammation.

It’s only at this stage that doctors recognize it as disease as it involves pain. Maybe you’ve experienced this before: you completely lost your appetite; and you don’t feel hungry at all even you’ve not been eating for the whole day, all you want to do is just to sleep and rest! Sounds familiar? The area becomes inflamed due to the continuous irritation of toxic substances. Appendicitis (appendix), tonsillitis (tonsils), hepatitis (liver) and nephritis (kidney) are all inflammation but in different areas.

Fifth stage, Ulceration.
Our body use ulcer as a way to drain toxic built-up, it will heal if causes are stopped. Cells and tissue structures are being damaged due to our body’s inability to live in increasing toxin.

Sixth stage, Induration, or often called tumor formation.

Induration is the process where our tissue hardened so that ulcer and toxic materials can be kept inside and sealed off by the hardening of the tissue around them. This is a way of quarantining the toxins. This shows how our body tries so hard to protect us even at this stage! However, if we continue with our destructive lifestyles and diet patterns, our body will eventually dissolve the hard tissue when the toxin level is so high and it can no loner take it! This means the toxins will leak and circulate to other parts of the body, and that leads to cancer…

Final stage, Cancer.
Our cells have become parasitic at this stage. Cancer is usually fatal, it can ONLY be reversible with the condition of us stopping the causes and indulge in healthful practices, as healthful practices are the universal panacea!

Psoriasis History

Form the beginning of humankind hundreds of thousands of human beings – from common people to stars, from kings to important modern politicians – suffering and do still suffer from psoriasis today.

Psoriasis is even cited in the writings of ancient healing. Back in the late classic times there was a known disease, which was realized by the peeling and itchiness of skin.

The problem of Ancient Greek medical expressions led to the fact that in the functions of Hippocrates, leprosy and psoriasis were collectively under one name, which was -leprosy. Psoriasis was known in the times of Hippocrates under the names of lepra and psora, as well as alphos and leichen. In the times of Hippocrates a dermatological expressions was introduced, utilized sometimes even at present, some of the terms of which had a group meaning. So, under the term "psoriasis" they united the diseases, which are accompanied by tuberosity, by the formation of scale, spots and by keratosis, such as eczema, lichens (micose, red flat lichen, tuberculular lupus, leprosy, etc).

Each of these terms had their really unique elements; For example, the term "leprosy" was used with the determination of the assortment of the diseases, which are characterized by a thick skin, by its peeling and itchiness, which in some way tells us about psoriasis in today's idea of psoriasis.

At the start of our era a distinguished Greek physician named Claudius Galen was first to use the term "psoriasis" to label the scaly changes in the skin with an extreme itchiness; however, clinically this condition little resembled the present manifestations of psoriasis.

In the writings of the past centuries of years psoriasis itself was sometimes mistaken to be leprosy, mange, Vitiligo, which usually needed a strict segregation and other consequent consequences: people with psoriasis did not get any health care; they had to wear a really unusual outfit and bell.

With the term "psora" (ancient name of psoriasis) it was called the variety of diseases of the skin, for which was known for it's peeling, dry skin and itchiness.

The first visible description of the clinical manifestations of psoriasis belong to a 2nd century Greek philosopher named Celsus.

Only the start of the 19th Century an English physicist named Willan and his students clearly offered the idea of psoriasis as an illness, its manifestations and problems. They differentiated it from leprosy and fungus diseases. They secluded the usual and uncommon surge of psoriasis (changes in the palms, feet, etc.). Willan described two diseases: discoid psoriasis, which he called Lepra Graecorum and Psora Leprosa. Willan in 1801 cave a description of the ailment taking into account variations in the clinical make-up of psoriasis.

A key role in the course of the probe into psoriasis was done by a Russian dermatologists of the 19th century, which considered this dermatitis as a system ailment, "psoriatic disease", capturing into account the connection of psoriasis with the pathology of the interior organs , metabolism, and the condition of the nervous system. The doctors of various countries (Gebr, H.Koebner and others) have also later pointed out the connection of psoriatic disease with the circumstance of the nervous system, and the diseases of the interior organs.

Later dermatology was enriched by new facts about the zest of the disease. All the cumulated evidence lets us at present call psoriasis a "system disease".

New evidence about the essence and the mechanism of the course of the illness was obtained in the last 40 years; the new modern methods for the therapy were envisioned and used: PUVA- treatment, corticosteroids, retinoids, cytostatics in the therapy of different forms, Selective Ultraviolet Phototherapy, acupuncture, hemosorption etc.

During the latter part of the 20th century it was evident by a truly imminence approach to the dilemma of psoriasis. Only in the last 10 years or so, around the globe there have been published more than ten-thousand pieces, devoted to psoriatic dermatitis, which makes it one of the most examined. However, none of the possibilities or the theories show a complete essence of the illness, and the same problems of treatment and preventive maintenance stands in front of the latest dermatologists as vivid as it did a century ago.

Currently, many researchers and educational institutions deal with the exploration of the root, manifestations, and with the refinement of new ways to treat and use preventive maintenance measures for psoriasis. In the United States the key scientific focal point for psoriasis is Stanford University, which has 35 different countries from around the world in the form of an international association on the studies of psoriasis. The association publishes the only one on the entire planet the American Journal of Psoriasis. It deals with the inquiries about psoriasis from dermatologist all around the globe.

Every five years there is transported out a World Congress specialized to the difficulties of psoriasis.

October 29th is dedicated as World Psoriasis Day. Every year it is devoted to persons with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

How Long Is The Chicken Pox Contagious Period For?

If you have the varicella virus (or maybe your youngster does), there's a chance you're wondering when the disease contagious and just how long does this chicken pox contagious period last for? Great question!

This disease is easily the most contagious as soon as the 1st symptoms of a fever and aches occur. This is much sooner then your actual rash and bumps break out.

When first infected, you'll immediately set out to feel sick. This means a fever, aches, loss of appetite, fatigue, and some more symptoms that are not noticeable. This is where the chicken pox contagious period begins. It is recommended to step back from people, since you can easily spread this disease through germs.

In just days or sometimes weeks, a rash and blisters will quickly occur. The chicken pox contagious period is highest two days before the rash breaks out. As soon as the rash happens, you slowly become much less contagious to others. However, will still be recommended to avoid people as there is still to be able to pass it on.

It usually takes about 10-21 days for all the blisters to scab over and heal. When all the blisters and scabs are completely gone, the chicken pox contagious period is finished and you are back to normal health.

Some parents have a "Pox Party" for children, and that is purposely bringing your child near another infected child during the contagious period to spread the disease. This really is OK to do, as varicela virus is less severe in childhood. But, understand that many adults are already known to find the disease a few times and they have to take precaution.

So overall, the chicken pox contagious period lasts from 2-3 weeks on average, and much longer in situations where there may be a complication. The best thing to do is to keep the child from school for that period of time and be sure your youngster is getting good care.

If your little one has the vaccine, this does not cause you to be 100% resistant to the illness. Be aware that the vaccine is just about 80-90% effective, which means your child can still contain the disease and neverheless be contagious.

Diabetes and Wound Healing Woes

Diabetes is a disease the effects the body's ability to process glucose. Either the pancreas stops producing insulin, as in Type 1 Diabetes, or the body becomes resistant to its own insulin, as in Type 2 Diabetes. In either case, sustained damage can be done to the cells and tissues of the body due to prolonged elevation of the blood glucose levels.

There are many negative side effects that can happen as a result of elevated blood glucose levels. These side effects include poor circulation, micro-vascular damage, damage to the eyes, kidney damage and increased likelihood of heart disease and strokes. Many complications can also arise for diabetics because their bodies have a very hard time with wound healing.

Wound healing is a major health issue for diabetics. Because of elevated glucose levels and a compromised immune system, the diabetic body has a very hard time fighting infections. This becomes a vicious cycle, since infections raise blood glucose levels, making it harder over time for the diabetic body to heal. One of the reasons amputations are so common among the diabetic population is precisely because fighting infection and wound healing is such a challenge for diabetics.

In order to assist with wound healing, diabetics should consider taking all natural oral supplements in addition to insulin and / or other prescribed medications. Supplements containing SOD / Gliadin have proven to be effective in assisting with the wound healing process. SOD / Gliadin has been shown in numerous studies to decrease oxidative stress under extreme duress, reduce lactic acid blood concentration during and after exercise, enhance the immune system, and have a general anti-inflammatory effect while functioning through a nitrous oxide (NO) pathway .

While a healthy diet and exercise can greatly help regulate blood glucose levels and minimize the risk for diabetic complications, they will not reverse the damage already made to cells and tissues by elevated blood glucose levels. For this reason, all those with diabetes or at risk for diabetes should look into natural herbs and supplements as a way of helping their bodies reverse the negative effects of diabetes.

Baby Nasal Aspirator – Proper Use and Types

Physicians generally recommend that nasal mucus be removed when possible in order to avoid infection that can spread to the ears – as well as to reduce your child's discomfort. Infant and newborn nasal congestion is due to the blockage of the nasal passes typically due build-up of mucus or the membranes lining the nose becoming swollen from inflated blood vessels.

It is also known as nasal blockage, nasal obstruction, blocked nose, runny nose, stuffy nose, or stuffed up nose. Nasal congestion can range from a mild annoyance to a life-threatening condition. Newborns can only breathe through the nose (newborns are "distinguish nose breathers"). Infant congestion can interfere with breastfeeding and cause life-threatening respiratory distress. Mucus that remains in the nose for long periods of time can cause sinus infections that can spread to the ears.

The question then is, what is the best method and tool to accomplish this?

Baby nasal aspirators to remove nasal mucus are generally of three types: 1) Bulb syringe 2) Battery-powered and 3) Self-suctioning. The last type is generally considered as the most effective because, by using your own suction, the operator can effectively generate greater and more consistent suction. Self-suctioning type aspirators are designed so that mucus is captured in a receptacle or a filter so that the operator (most often a parent) is not exposed to mucus and germs.

Hospitals send new parents home with traditional bulb-type nasal aspirators, however, they are not necessarily the best tool for the job. The main drawback of the bulb syringe aspirator is that because the bulb is of limited size, it can only generate limited suction. This requires that the bulb be inserted into the nostril of the child repeatedly in order to remove mucus. This is difficult with a child that will inevitably be squirming and can cause damage to the delicate nasal membranes.

We have tested all available battery-operated nasal aspirators on the market today and generally find them to be ineffective for the reason that they do not generate sufficient suction. A battery-powered vacuum pump is not generally strong enough to remove mucus that is deeper inside the sinus cavity, and this is the mucus that is most important to remove.

Baby nasal aspirators that employ self-suctioning have the advantage that the amount of suction that can be generated is limited only by the lung capacity of the operator. Here we would like to address some of the typical concerns that parents have regarding self-suctioning baby nasal aspirators:

Concern: I will catch my child's cold using a self-suctioning aspirator.
Response: Virus and bacteria are water-borne, they can only be spread if they are contained in droplets of water or mucus. Properly designed self-suctioning aspirators are designed specifically to prevent the passage of droplets through the suction tube. In addition, self-suctioning aspirators generally employ filters to catch liquid droplets.

Concern: I will generate too much suction and injure my child
Response: We only need consider the relatively large pressures generated by sneezing, which can exceed velocities of 100 miles per hour. Compared to this the pressure generated by a parent suction is relatively low, on the order of 1 / 10th the velocity and therefore pressure. In other words, the body is designed to withstand and indeed generate significantly more sinus pressure than is created in the nasal suctioning process.

The Proven Health Benefits of Riding an ATV or Off-Road Motorcycle

Good news! The “first ever comprehensive probe of the fitness and health benefits of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and off-road motorcycle (ORM) recreational riding” proves riding is as good as it feels.

The study

Conducted over several years by the York University Faculty of Health, co-supported by the Government of Nova Scotia and 3 riding associations, the study began with a meticulous countrywide survey to determine the ‘typical’ rider.

That was the entire first phase of this huge experiment.

Then researchers observed 128 riders, divided into 6 groups: 3 age classifications, male and female. After modifying these riders’ equipment, they could measure physical effects: heart rate; oxygen consumption; muscle fatigue and exertion, etc.

The findings

Riding an off-road vehicle requires genuine and serious physical effort. According to Canadian government fitness standards, it should positively affect your health.

While riding, riders’ use of oxygen increased by 3.5 to 6 times their level at rest. That’s 600% more! And according to standards set by the American College of Sports Medicine, that constitutes moderately intense physical activity.

That same moderate intensity taxes the heart and fatigues the muscles. How much? About the same amount as those other individual sports you take at your own pace, like skiing, golf or climbing.

A typical ATV ride was 2-3 hours; ORM was 1-2 hours. The amount of work required in the upper body and arms, if practiced regularly, was enough to increase muscle and skeletal fitness. And how regularly did they need to ride to begin realizing that increase? Just once or twice a week!

The biggie

Researchers also noticed the emotional high that fit people always talk about: “enhanced quality of life and stress reduction”. This surprised no riders.

Weight Loss – 5 Effective Ways to Lose Weight

Weight-loss is about diet. Losing weight requires two main activities: burning calories through regular exercise and cutting them through the selection of smart food choices and portion control. A one-sided and unbalanced way to create a calorie deficiency is spending hours in the gym, but that would be unrealistic and removing all the fun. And who wants to continuously feed on lettuce leaves? Instead, develop these seven easy everyday habits to burn belly fat effortlessly.

1. Drink 8 glasses of water per day

Drink a glass of water the first thing every morning. The body is more than 60% water and must remain hydrated to function optimally. We suffer a lot of health challenges simply because the cells of the body are dehydrated. For example, many times we can cure a headache by simply drinking some water. Water carries the miracle of life. Getting a better understanding of the health benefits of water will resolve many of the health issues we struggle with in life.

2. Keep most meals less than 400 calories

Many studies have clearly revealed that effective weight-loss comes by having smaller meals on a regular interval through the day works to your body. Spacing your meals like this and keeping them all about the same size is the official recommendation.

Eating smaller meals several times during the day has been linked to more calorie burning after eating, causing a better response to insulin, and lowering the blood cholesterol levels. When you eat regular meals throughout the day, you will have better control of eating correct portions and less likely to become greedy and overeat.

3. Jump on a mini trampoline

Rebounding exercise has been studied by The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and found to be 68% more oxygen efficient than other forms of exercises. What that is saying is this, you can exercise vigorously on the rebounder without feeling breathless, and the benefits received are better than jogging, swimming, cycling and mountain climbing all combined. This is fantastic news for persons who can not go jogging for various reasons. The greatest part of rebounding exercise is, it is fun, and you can be jumping while watching the news or your favorite TV show.

4. Sleep comfortably

Our health is directly linked to the way we sleep. It is commonly said that our quality of life is related to our quality of sleep. It's important to know that good quality sleep can produce longevity and happiness. Studies have shown that improper sleep may cause a lot of problems and even diseases like arthritis, insomnia, osteochondrosis (a defect in the developmental process of normal bone growth), allergy, asthma, radiculitis (pain due to inflammation or other irritation of the nerve) root), blood supply disturbance and others. The best way to sleep comfortably is to get rid of all electronic gadgets out of your bed room. Create a dark, cool and noiseless environment with a firm comfortable mattress. Peace of mind contribute to effective weight-loss.

5. Meditation and reflection

Life is complete without Divine connections. Human beings are more than physical, we are a triune being of body mind and spirit. If we live our life without a spiritual connection, we can become frustrated, miserable, stressed out, confused, and uncertain about the present and the future. A divine connection can put life in perspective and make us face every day with confidence vigour and zest, all of which can create a hormonal balance for our system causing an improved homeostasis.

Our metabolism will then be increased and weight loss will become almost effortless in the process of burning belly fat. Weight-loss around the weight line is most critical because that is one of the worst places to store excess fat.

Common Symptoms and Causes of Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain is a serious medical problem that can impede your mobility by making it difficult to move your arms and upper body freely. This discomfort may be caused by a variety of sources. If affected, it is important to explore common symptoms and their related causes to learn why you are suffering.

Anatomy of the Shoulder

Tendons, ligaments, and bursae make up the human shoulder. Injuries affect bones, ligaments, cartilage, or menisci and can cause discomfort in one or multiple areas. The extreme and regular mobility of this joint makes it a common injury site. If an accident occurs, an injury could create swelling of the bursae or the tendons. Bone fractures can also occur after an impact or a fall.

Common Symptoms

Shoulder pain is a clear indicator of injuries in this joint. You may experience intense discomfort with pulling, lifting, or pushing movements. Symptoms may have a gradual or a sudden sunset, depending on the cause.

Issues with Sudden Onset

Rotator cuff muscles are located throughout the shoulder and are common injury sites for many. An injury to one of these muscles involves intense and sudden pain. The sensations may travel down the arm, or they may remain localized at the location of the muscles. With movement, discomfort may intensify. Some people also have unpleasant sensations when lying in bed.

Sometimes shoulder pain can occur as a result of an unrelated issue in the back or the neck. The mechanisms of our bodies are all connected. Problems that start in the back or neck can easily transfer to other regions. This radiating discomfort may travel down the arm and even into the fingers.

Dislocated joints occur when bones in the joint separate and the connective tissue tears. This separation usually happens after a fall in which the person extends an arm to attempt to break the impact. Intense and severe pain will travel down the arm. A person will usually feel a specific moment of popping. Muscle spasms and numbness often follow the separation.

A labral tear may involve the cartilage lining of the joint. This injury may happen in connection with a dislocation after a fall. A person will often hear and feel a clicking sound with movement.

Issues with Gradual Onset Pain

Osteoarthritis of this joint can cause the gradual onset of shoulder pain. Often stiffness is the first hint of a problem. Over time, the stiffness will progress to reduced mobility and a dull ache. Physical therapy can initially help with unpleasant symptoms.

Adhesive capsulitis involves an unsuitable freezing of the joint that leads to reduced mobility and pain. At the sunset, a dull ache will present itself. Over time, the ache will spread and become worse. Occasionally, stiffening will set in, making it difficult to lift and move the arm. It's common for symptoms to improve and worsen in different phases.

Whenever you experience shoulder pain that interferes with your range of motion and everyday tasks, see a physician to diagnose the cause of the discomfort immediately. Some issues can be progressive, so it's best to diagnose early to prevent them from intensifying. Quick action and knowledge are key to preventing long-term shoulder issues.

Homeopathic Cures For Common Ailments – The Sore Throat

How many times have you gotten a sore throat as a kid? Do you remember what your mom or dad did to help you get over it? Let's first start with what a sore throat is. The medical term for a sore throat is called Pharyngitis. According to Wikipedia, Pharyngitis is a painful inflammation of the pharynx which may also lead to the infection of the tonsils (tonsillitis) and / or larynx (laryngitis) at the same time. For those of you who have never had Pharyngitis, laryngitis, or tonsillitis, let me give you a brief description of it from my own first-hand experience.

When I was younger, I had streptococcal Pharyngitis several times (aka: strep throat). It was most unpleasant. A few years later, I went on to have tonsillitis, another unpleasing infection. In both instances, I felt like my throat was about ten times the size of my head and also had the sensation that it was increasingly difficult to swallow. When I was able to swallow, I found it incredibly painful to do so. There was also a white film on my tongue and my tonsils were inflamed and red. When I had tonsillitis, the infection was so bad that I remembered the doctor telling my mother that he would have to monitor it over the week and if it did not get better with the antibiotics, I would have to have my tonsils removed. I took the antibiotics and within a couple of weeks, I was all better. However, there are some people out there who would rather take a more homeopathic approach when it comes to medicine.

The most popular cure for a sore throat for those who wish to go the natural route is cayenne pepper. It is usually left up to the person's discretion, but take a small amount of cayenne pepper (no more than 1 / 8th teaspoon) and mix it in some warm water. Take this mixture and gargle with the cayenne pepper and water for a few minutes every fifteen minutes or so. Afterwards, if you need some relief from the burning pepper feeling, pour a little bit of salt into one hand and wet the index finger of the other hand. With that same index finger, dip it into the salt and place the salt under your tongue (not ON the underside of the tongue). This will usually provide immediate relief.

There are a lot of homeopathic remedies for curing common ills. However, a lot of people tend to rely strictly on current medicines to fix their problems. In an overmedicated society, this can be good and bad. However, there is nothing wrong with all natural remedies. Cayenne pepper is also shown to have other positive effects on the body such as curing ulcers, aiding with arthritis relief, regulating blood sugar levels, lowering cholesterol, acting as a natural blood thinner, improving circulation, and stopping blood loss. If all else fails, you can even use cayenne pepper to clear up your sinuses! Whatever your preference, keep cayenne pepper in the house-just in case!
