From 1970’s till 90’s Volkswagen was replacing its rear-engined vehicles with more modern front-engined models. It happened with Volkswagen Vanagon, a rear engined van that was replaced in 1993 with the front-engined Euro Van. Because the engine was mounted in the front, TDI diesel engines with direct injection were used to power the vehicle. Euro van was offered in different configurations such as the seven-passenger GLS, Weekender, Camper, high-roof panel van and many more.
Euro Van was powered by a 109-horsepower, 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine that drove the front wheels. Euro van was available in three versions, all of which seated seven passengers. Euro Van CL came up with power brakes, bucket seats, power steering and a rear window defroster. The GL version has air conditioning, power heated mirrors and a cassette player. ML version came up with swiveling bucket seats, swing-up table and rear seats that folded into a bed.
T4 was produced from 1990 through the early 2000s when they were replaced by T5.
The first Volkswagen Euro van was produced 1992-1995. Features of the Euro van were 105HP 2.5 liter 5 cylinder engine, with front wheel drive. Euro van had both manual and automatic transmission. Euro van was available in several models, with seating for 6 in full camper model and 7 in weekender model. The weekender has an electric cooler, and a swing up middle table. Full camper has a stove, sink, refrigerator and middle table.
