Before you start your treatment you will sit down with your doctor or the therapist to decide what needs to be done. After the initial consultation is over the assistant or therapist will work directly with you to ensure that you are able to reach the goals that you have set.
They will be exercising you on a regular basis and re-evaluate your progress at specified intervals.When you go to your physical therapy session you will have to do whatever you are told to the best of your ability. It’s the only way that you will get better. You need to be able to tell him or her if you are having a difficult time with the treatment. Of course, you can’t expect for the practice to be simple and easy or you won’t be building your strength back up. But if things are too excruciating then you need to speak up so that you might be able to revamp your routine.
You are supposed to be healing not making the injury worse, which can happen if you go to strong too early.
Physical therapy can be forms of exercise, massage therapy, or even traction. You might be required to use free weights or weight machines during your routine. Quite often you will be required to do a variety of different types of routines during your recovery. You might be working out the area and then have a massage. For knee injuries you might sit in a therapy pool so that you can work the joint without a lot of impact on the joint.

You need to be open and honest with your trainer while you are doing your exercises. You want to get the best benefit possible from this. Take it nice and slow so that you can regain your strength without hurting yourself further. Listen closely to the instructions and don’t worry about telling him that you are having difficulty with the task. It might be that you need something a little less taxing at that time.
