10. Certain drugs.

Home Remedies

1. Make a mixture of the powdered ingredients like ginger, pepper and clove. Take the mixture along with honey thrice a day. This helps to fight bronchitis.

2. Put half teaspoon turmeric powder in a glass of milk and take thrice a day. For maximum benefit take the drink in empty stomach in the morning. This is a useful bronchitis remedy.

3. Take a teaspoon of onion juice early in the morning. Onion juice facilitates easy removal of phlegm and restricts further phlegm formation.

4. Add fresh spinach leaves in 250 ml water, mix one teaspoon honey and a pinch of ammonium chloride in to it. Stir until all ingredients mix well. Drinking this spinach water solves the problem of phlegm.

5. Mix honey in one teaspoon of powdered chicory root and take thrice regularly. This is highly beneficial in treating bronchitis.

6. Apply a poultice of warm, moist linseed over chest and back. This relieves bronchitis.

7. Put powdered almond in a cup of lemon juice and drink. This gives quick relief from the bouts of coughing and phlegm discharge.

8. Put one teaspoon of powdered sesame seed and linseed in a glass of water, add a pinch of salt and 1 teaspoon honey to it. Drink the mixture before going to bed. This is an effective home remedy for bronchitis.

9. Go on a purely liquid diet consisting mainly of orange juice for 3-4 days. This is a beneficial bronchitis cure.

10. Immersing in hot bath water mixed with Epsom salt for half an hour every alternate night gives relief from attacks of cough and phlegm draining.

11. Hot towel application on chest followed by cold fomentations minimizes the severity of bronchitis symptoms.

12. Make a mixture by adding 9-10 tablespoons of coconut milk, one tablespoon poppy seeds and one tablespoon honey. Take this mixture every night before retiring to bed. This is an effective bronchitis relief.

1. Badminton Grip

3. Serving

8. Badminton Net Play

Net play shots are usually done with just a wrist movement, and lack the power of most other techniques. The intent is to gently knock the shuttle over the net, usually when your opponent can’t reach the net in time to counter. Any light shot near the net is hard to return, especially if you get the shuttle tumbling.

Hair Loss Prevention- Why Do Castrated Men Never Go Bald?

The best start to preventing hair loss is understanding the

basics of hair: what it is, how it grows, what system

malfunctions can cause it to stop growing.

Most common hair loss comes under what has been commonly

known as Male Pattern Baldness (MPB). Although referred to

as MPB, females suffer a similar syndrome, so it is more

properly called androgenetic alopecia. Although hair loss

is not life or health threatening, it can cause serious

problems with a personâEUR(TM)s psyche and self-confidence. There

has been no absolute cure found for hair loss, and many

factors of hair loss are hereditary, however there are

several preventative measures one can take to maintain

healthy hair and scalp.

Although both men and women can suffer significant hair

loss, over 50% of men will suffer with Male Pattern

Baldness (MPB), also known as androgenetic alopecia, at

some point in their lives. The reason behind hair loss is a

genetically inherited sensitivity to Dihydrotestosterone

(DHT) and 5-alpha-reductase. The enzyme 5-alpha-reductase

converts testosterone, a male hormone, to DHT, the

substance identified as the end-cause for hair loss.

Hair loss has been noticed and studied throughout the ages,

and some interesting discoveries were made in ancient

times. For one it was noticed that eunuchs: those males

without genitals-never went bald. Men who were castrated as

a result of accidents in battle also never went bald. This

was the first indication that testosterone had something to

do with hair loss. It has also been found that the more

recessive the hair gene, the more propensity toward

baldness one has.

Some common myths have arisen concerning hair loss. Because

of medical advancements many of these myths are being

addressed and corrected. For starters, although

androgenetic alopecia or pattern baldness is genetic and

therefore can be hereditary, it is not passed down through

only your motherâEUR(TM)s side of the family. Either side of the

family can pass down the genetic disposition toward

baldness. Also, contrary to old family tales, wearing hats

does not cause baldness either.

Beyond the genetic propensity of certain people toward hair

loss, there seems to be various dietary triggers that

activate the process, a notion that is promising since this

can be controlled.

The effects of high-fat diets and the increase of DHT

(Dihydrotestosterone), a chemical produced by the body

found to cause hair loss, is not conclusive at this time.

However, there does seem to be a connection; as societies

that consumed relatively low-fat diets such as pre-World

War II Japan experienced almost no pattern baldness,

whereas in post-World War II Japan there is an increase in

pattern baldness as their society consumes a higher fat

diet. In fact, Asian and African men in their native

countries traditionally suffer very little Male Pattern

Baldness (MPB). Although when the same peoples come to

North America, they begin to develop MPB.

Because people of all races and ethnicities tend to develop

MPB or androgenetic alopecia, yet do not exhibit these

tendencies before moving to America, changes in diet may be

a leading contributing factor. Diets high in fat do

increase testosterone, which is the main component in DHT.

More research needs to be done on this topic to reach

conclusive evidence, although it certainly could not hurt

to lower oneâEUR(TM)s fat intake.

There are a number of foods and substances to avoid and

limit the intake of. Substances such as alcohol, caffeine,

sugar and nicotine can deplete the body of nutrients and

raise adrenal levels, which will cause a chain reaction of

producing more androgen and causing hair loss. High levels

of saturated fat and cholesterol rich foods are also linked

to increased DHT levels and their consumption should be

limited. Additionally, common table salt has been linked to

hair loss. And the average diet provides the recommended

amount of sodium intake; therefore, salt should never be

added to food. However, when using salt for seasoning

during cooking, be sure to use salt with Iodine being that

it is a nutrient that is vital to hair growth as well,

unless you are a regular consumer of seafood, which

contains high levels of Iodine.

Although hair loss can be caused by many other variables,

lack of proper nutrition will assuredly cause hair loss in

many people. Fortunately, adopting a proper diet that

includes the proper nutrients can reverse hair loss caused

by malnutrition. One thing for certain, regardless of

whether your hair loss was caused by malnutrition or not,

adopting a healthier diet will help the function of other

areas of the body.

There are some methods that have been used that prevent

hair loss on some people, in addition to the dietary

improvements, there are some naturopathic remedy

suggestions. Massage and aromatherapy have been used with

some success. In minor cases of temporary hair loss, hair

growth can be stimulated by massage, since blood and oxygen

flow to the scalp must be healthy in order for hair to

grow. A blend of six drops each of lavender and bay

essential oils in a base of four ounces of either almond,

soybean or sesame oil massaged into the scalp and allowed

to sit for 20 minutes has been used by aroma therapists to

stimulate the scalp. Once the mixture is in the scalp for

20 minutes, wash your hair and scalp with your normal

shampoo mixed with three drops of bay essential oil.

Massaging the scalp in general for a couple of minutes a

day can stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles and in

mild cases stimulate some hair growth. Of course, one must

be careful to be gentle when massaging and not tug at the

hair or use the fingernails when massaging the scalp. If

one is concerned about fingernails getting in the way due

to extra long fingernails, there are several options. One

is a flat-handed massage, which while not as effective as

the finger massage can provide some circulatory benefits

and results.

There are several electric massagers on the market that

have an attachment for scalp massaging as well. An oriental

method called Qi Gong (pronounced Chi Kung) has been used

to increase circulation to the scalp and face also. The

fingers should be placed at the center of the skull base

and then begin to tap approximately 30 times. Work your way

outward toward the ears continuing to tap gently. After

reaching the ears go back to the center of the skull a

little higher up and work your way around to the ear

region. Keep going up about eight levels, each time

repeating the process.

There is a definite connection between the prostate and

hair loss for men, and therefore a connection between

breakthroughs in BPH treatments developed and their

effectiveness in restoring hair growth. There have been

some herbalists that have experimented with the herb Saw

Palmetto in order to block the production of DHT in

treating BPH. Although most studies of Saw Palmetto have

been for the treatment of prostatic disease, more recent

studies have been conducted on its effectiveness in

treating loss. The herb has been found to work in fighting

benign prostatic disease by lowering levels of DHT, which

is a known cause of androgenetic alopecia. Studies have

shown Saw Palmetto extract is an effective anti-androgen

and therefore there is promise for its effectiveness as an

effective treatment for hair loss prevention.

Rosemary and sage are two herbs that have shown benefit

traditionally when used externally. It is suggested that to

promote a clean scalp, stimulation of the hair root, and

thickening hair one should boil together in water rosemary,

sage, peach leaf, nettle and burdock. Then strain the loose

herbs from the liquid and use the liquid to wash the hair

daily. Also recommended is steeping one ounce of ground

rosemary, two ounces of ground sage, and a half ounce of

ground nettles in one pint of ethyl alcohol for a week,

straining the solution and adding one ounce of castor oil

and one ounce of water to the liquid. This is said to make

a great hair lotion to apply at night before bed or just

before shampooing.

Mustapha Wasajja – Uganda’s Mysterious Boxing Champion

Mustapha (Mustafa) Wasajja (Wassaja / Wassajja / Wasaja) was born on July 16, 1953 in Kampala, Uganda). As an amateur, Wasajja fought at welter-, light-middle-, and middle-weight. Wasajja, debilitated by weakness and shakiness for years, eventually succumbed to Parkinsonism on April 26 2009, near Kampala in Uganda

In the early 1970’s, Wasajja was under the tutelage of Uganda’s legendary and most famous coach Peter Grace Sseruwagi (Seruwagi) and national trainer Kesi Odongo (who at the 1962 Commonwealth Games held in Perth in Australia, won a a silver medal in the lightweight division). As a light-welterweight, Sseruwagi represented Uganda at the 1960 Olympic Games held in Rome but was eliminated outside medal contention. Long-time Uganda sports official and ex-Uganda army commander Francis (Frank) Nyangweso, a light-middleweight contender at that time, was also eliminated in the earlier bouts at the same Games.

Wasajja’s first distinguished international accomplishment came in the African Amateur Championships held in his native Uganda, in Kampala in November 1974. Wasajja won gold in the middleweight division. Gold medal wins by fellow countrymen James Odwori (Oduori), Ayub Kalule, Vitalis Bbege, Mohamed Muruli; together with silver medal wins by Ali Rojo and Jacob Odongo, further established two-time (1970 and 1974) Commonwealth boxing overall champion Uganda as international ring master. Earlier on in January 1974 at the Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, New Zealand, Wasajja, as Uganda’s middleweight, was in the quarter finals knocked out in the first round by Les Rackley of New Zealand.

And at the World Boxing Championships held in August 1974, Wasajja was outpointed in the quarter-finals by Dragomir Vujkovic of Yugoslavia. An upcoming major outing for the glorious Ugandans would have been at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal in Canada. Many African countries, including Uganda, boycotted these Games. Notable Ugandan boxers such as Wasajja, Ayub Kalule, and Cornelius Bbosa (Boza-Edwards), would henceforth move into the growing field of professional boxing. These were the seeds of the 1980’s golden era of Uganda boxing during which Ugandans, notably Ayub Kalule, Cornelius Boza-Edwards, and John “the Beast” Mugabi became professional world champions.

Of note is that a tune up for the 1976 Olympic Games included the international Pre-Olympic Boxing Tournament held in Montreal from November 27 to December 1, 1975. Uganda was represented by Wasajja (middleweight), hard punching and dreaded knockout specialist and Africa Champion Vitalis Bbege (welterweight), and Jacob Odonga (light-heavyweight). Only Wasajja emerged winner, while his counterparts were defeated in their finals. In the quarter-finals, Wasajja thoroughly outpointed Pietro Contarini of Canada. This was followed by Wasajja beating Jacobus Schmidt of Holland on points. The finals involved Wasajja beating Bryan Gibson of Canada by 4:1. Vitalis (Vitalish) Bbege was also scheduled to fight for Uganda at the upcoming but aborted Olympics. Bbege soon moved to West Germany (FDR) where he boxed as a club amateur and even represented Germany at a dual friendly with the United States. He is well settled in Germany with family and he is a fitness and boxing trainer in Flensburg.

Wasajja fought in 28 official fights as a professional boxer. These fights of Wasajja took place from March 1977 to March 1983, and Wasajja became a top-ten world contender as a light-heavyweight and cruiserweight from the late 1970’s to the mid-1980’s. Aside from his last three fights, his bouts essentially took place in Denmark and Norway. Of his only professional wins and one draw (25 bouts), 76% of them went the distance, Wasajja registering 24% as knocks-outs of his opponents. Wasajja stood out as a southpaw, a mostly agile, fast, and stamina endowed puncher who would endure all the rounds other than deliver as a power knockout pugilist.

On September 9, 1978 in Copenhagen, Wasajja technically knocked out legendary former world light-heavyweight Bob (Robert Lloyd) Foster with a retirement in the 5th round. The lanky 6’3″ tall Foster, considered one of the world’s all-time (light-heavyweights) greats had over the years been in many vicious battles with notable fighters, including epic heavyweights like Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, and Ernie Terrel. He is regarded as the best boxer to have hailed from the USA state of New Mexico. Foster achieved mixed results when fighting the heavyweight boxers. Foster had also retired several times and made comebacks. When Foster battled Wasajja, he was aged 40 and undoubtedly way past his prime. After one more fight thereafter (a rematch with Bob Hazelton in which Foster was knocked), Foster would retire for the last time. Wasajja was only 25 at that time. Foster lay his gloves down, ending with a marvelous 56 wins (46 by knockout) and 8 losses.

From his professional debut in March 1977 until February 13, 1982, Wasajja achieved a 100% winning streak. It was then that he battled legendary Michael Spinks (later to become World Heavyweight Champion) for the light-heavyweight crown, in the New Jersey Atlantic City in the USA. Wasajja’s crossing the Atlantic for a chance at the belt, spelled his demise. Prior to the fight with Spinks, Wasajja, regarded as a mystery man (whose names were difficult to spell) by the American fans and writers became the number one ranked contender for the WBA light-heavyweight crown. Previously, in 1980, Wasajja had become the 3rd-ranked WBA contender.

Subsequently, Wasajja was knocked out by Spinks in the sixth round, and therefore failed to capture the World Boxing Association (WBA) title. In July of the same year, Wasajja lost his next bout (which went the distance) to Tony Mundine in France, and thereafter in Lusaka (Zambia), Wasajja was knocked out by Zambian Lottie Mwale in only three rounds, and thus failing to capture the British Commonwealth Light-heavyweight title. At age 29 Wasajja had fought his last professional fight. Undoubtedly, the last three were bouts were Wasajja’s toughest and most significant; they were against game opponents. Sadly, it was in the three that Wasajja succumbed. These three significantly injured and exposed Wasajja’s weaknesses. Nevertheless, Wasajja established himself as one of the greatest Uganda boxers, and significantly as one of the greatest among the pioneering Uganda professional boxers.

Of note, Lottie Mwale, who was the same age as Wasajja, boxed professionally until 1994; he stands out as one of the greatest of African boxers. He participated in 53 professional bouts won most of them by knockout and was also an African Boxing Union (ABU) champion. The greatest Zambian boxer succumbed in 2005, at age 53, to Parkinsonism which is the same affliction that legendary Muhammad Ali endures. Zambians, with their love for boxing, apparently harbor an appreciably enduring memory of Mustapha Wasajja. And Zambians, have for decades been traditional boxing rivals of Ugandans. Charles Chisamba, the Zambian light-heavyweight champion, carries the nickname, “Wasajja” (“Wasaja”). On January 24, 2009 in Lusaka, Chisamba outpointed Tanzania’s Mbaruku Kheri in an African Boxing Union (ABU) light-heavyweight vacant title and thus became Africa champion. Wasajja has guided young and promising boxers at Mulago Yellow Boxing Club, some of whom have starred as professionals abroad…mainly in Europe, notably in the Scandinavian countries.

In an October 8 2005 article by Moses Mugalu in the Uganda newspaper “Daily Monitor,” Wasajja is said to talk about having invested in Kenya businesses (together with long-time boxing counterpart Ayub Kalule) after retirement from boxing, on until 1990. But Wasajja claimed to have eventually been duped by Kenyan business counterparts; a consequence of which he became a poverty-stricken slum dweller in Mulago in Kampala. His five children were similarly struggling, some young and not enrolled in school. Wasajja recounted his memorable amateur exhibition bout with his executive President, Idi Amin, soon after Wasajja won the Africa Championships title in the series held in Kampala in 1975. Wasajja was obligated to lose in that puppet bout. In the “Monitor” interviews, Wasajja is described as weakly, frail, shaky, and occasionally stammering,” but that both his memory and speech are quite focused and clear; and he maintains his pride and humor.

In the Uganda newspaper, “Bukedde,” dated July 28 2008, an ailing bedridden Wasajja mentions to Ibrahim Katongole that it is his children Rehemah Namuddu, Nakayiwa and Salif Abdul who tend to him. According to a former national boxer, Charles Lubulwa, some of Wasajja’s sufferings stemmed from disconnecting himself from the boxing bodies and persons that had employed him and supported him during his boxing career abroad. They had, largely, lost contact with him.

As regards the memorable fight with Michael Spinks in which he lost in 1982, Wasajja strongly suspects that food given to him prior to the fight (in Atlantic City, New Jersey) was tainted and consequently weakened and disabled him: he claimed that foul play was involved in his losing the fight. This was Wasajja’s most memorable and most prestigious fight. And who knew? Wasajja fought with the two Spinks brothers who became world heavyweight champions! One of the brothers beat Muhammad Ali, and the other was beaten by Mike Tyson, among other things! Also, notably, Wasajja fought during an era regarded as a golden one for light-heavyweights. These included Michael Spinks, Dwight Mohammed Qawi (formerly Dwight Braxton), Eddie Mustafa Muhammad (formerly Eddie Gregory), Marvin Johnson, and Mathew Saad Muhammad (formerly Mathew Franklin, and born Maxwell Antonio Loach).

Wasajja was a notable amateur Uganda boxing champion and an Africa amateur boxing champion, but his wins were not as many or as striking as those of his counterparts such as Ayub Kalule and James Odwori. In the professional ranks he rose to prominent heights, but he did not win that coveted world title. Wasajja’s fame is intertwined with his being a mysterious Ugandan champion, one who had shots at both world title and the Africa professional title but came short of winning. Wasajja, Uganda’s mysterious champion became outstanding as one of Uganda’s pioneering professional boxers, one of those who had the audacity to challenge some of the best boxers on the globe.

Should I Trust a Fortune Teller to Read My Future?

“Can a fortune teller really predict my future?” “Should I trust a fortune teller?” Those are the kinds of questions people ask me when they learn of my great interest in mysticism and the occult. I would often tell them about my interesting experience visiting a fortune teller when I was a teenager.

It was a warm summer evening. My friends and I were looking for some excitement in the last days of our vacation before we started high school. So we decided to go to the local fairground and have fun. I was wearing a tank top and shorts, and was barefooted – my favorite outfit even to this day. We came across a tent with a sign in the front saying “Have your fortune told by a world famous fortune teller.” I thought that was interesting. I didn’t believe in any of that stuff, but being an adventurous and rebellious teen I wanted to go in and find out what it was like visiting a fortune teller. I was even thinking of making fun of the fortune teller, asking them some weird questions.

My friends were more interested in trying their luck on winning some stuffed animals in the game arcade. So, I went into the tent by myself. The fortune teller was a middle-aged woman dressed like a Gypsy, wearing a colorful gown and headscarf, and all kinds of strange jewelry. She looked rather comical, and I couldn’t help giggling. I quickly covered my mouth and pretended to cough.

The fortune teller greeted me, “Welcome, young lady. Have a seat, I’ll be right with you.” So, I sat down and propped my feet up on another chair. “Hey, get your dirty feet off my chair!” yelled the fortune teller. I was a bit startled and said, “Oops, sorry mam.” Glancing at her stern face, I tried hard not to giggle again.

She pulled the chair and sat at the table facing me. Before even asking me any questions, the fortune teller summarized my emotional state at the time. She said I just broke up with my boyfriend whom I considered the love of my life, and she sensed a deep sadness within me. I was stunned. How did she know? Before I had a chance to recover, she went on to tell me that I would not get back with him. I was completely devastated, as I was hoping she would say the opposite.

I was giggling a minute ago, and now I found myself sobbing in front of the fortune teller. To make matters worse, I didn’t have any tissue and neither did she. So, I had to wipe my tears and runny nose with my shirt. How embarrassing! I felt like the fortune teller turned the table on me. I was planning to make fun of her but as it turned out, I was the one who felt humiliated.

Nevertheless, the fortune teller showed some compassion. She tried to comfort me and told me that the universe had something better in store for me. She said I should let my old boyfriend go because I was soon to meet my real soul mate. This handsome man and I would get married and have children, we would drive a big van and live happily by the ocean. I didn’t really believe her though, as I thought she was just saying those things to make me feel better.

As I met back with my friends outside I told them it was a great experience. “This Gypsy fortune teller looked into a giant crystal ball and told me I would meet my Prince Charming, and we would live happily ever after.” We all had a good laugh and continued our fun at the fairground.

The events that took place following my visit with the fortune teller were rather amazing, if not bizarre. A few months later I heard my old boyfriend got back with his previous girlfriend and married her. Shortly thereafter, I did meet another guy. He was a few years older than me and was absolutely gorgeous. We had a very passionate relationship. However, there were a few things about him my parents didn’t like and they disapproved of our relationship.

The fortune teller’s words kept ringing in my ears, however. Although I didn’t believe her in the beginning, deep down I kept hoping she was right and this guy would be the love of my life. So I decided to leave my parents and run away with him. We lived together in his beat-up old van that he parked near the beach. It was a lot of fun in the beginning, and I was having the time of my life.

One day I found out I was pregnant. My boyfriend freaked out when I told him. Since I was still a minor, I couldn’t get an abortion without parental consent, and he said he wasn’t ready to have a child. Being scared and confused, he took the easy way out and left me. So much for being a soul mate. So, I decided to have the baby and my parents were gracious enough to let me move back in with them, although my dad really let me have it.

So, did the fortune teller’s predictions come true? Yes, in a twisted sort of way. Would I go see another fortune teller to have my future told? Most likely not. I believe we shape our own lives with our thoughts and actions. Today my little daughter and I are living our lives to the fullest, and believe good things always lie ahead of us. We don’t need a fortune teller to read our future since we know all is well.

Yes, there are legit fortune tellers and psychics who can foretell your future based on the vibrations that they are able to detect, and I can’t discredit them. Some people find comfort in hearing of their good fortune, and that in itself will set their vibration to a higher level. However, as I said, I personally believe we have the ultimate control over our own lives.

So, the decision whether or not to see and trust a fortune teller is completely yours. Should you decide to see one, you need do your homework first so you don’t fall prey to scam artists who are just after your money.
