Penis Vitamin Cream – A Powerful Boost for Penis Health

It is extremely important to maintain the health and wellness of the entire body, and the penis is no exception. However, despite the fact that the penis is one of the favorite body parts of most men, guys tend to overlook it in the daily health care regimen. In addition to the hours at the gym, eating well, and managing stress effectively, integrating a penis vitamin cream as part of a daily penis care routine can show immediate and long-lasting results and contribute to lifelong penis health.

Optimum penis vitamin cream ingredients

When choosing a penis vitamin cream, it is of the utmost importance to ensure it is made from high-quality ingredients. Many health crèmes claim big results without the essential ingredients to support them. Below is a list of vital nutrients and the benefits they have on the penis.

Shea Butter: Shea butter is a luxurious moisturizer and emollient that heals dry cracked skin on the penis. It rejuvenates skin cells, helps the skin retain moisture, and soothes cracked, red or irritated skin.

Vitamin E: Vitamin E is another well-known vitamin aimed at enriching skin moisture and protecting the skin from cracking and drying. It has calming properties that soothes itchy and chafed skin, leaving it smooth and supple.

Acetyl L Carnitine: Acetyl L Carnitine is a supplement which has neuroprotective properties that protect and prevent peripheral nerve damage. This is especially important in terms of the penis, which can be easily injured during aggressive sexual activity, leading to a painful condition known as Peyronie’s disease. Using Acetyl L Carnitine can actually enhance sensitivity of the penis, slow the aging process and promote healthy cell functioning; it is essential in a penis vitamin cream.

Alpha Lipoic Acid: Often found in nutrient products as a compliment to Acetyl L Carnitine, it is a beneficial anti-oxidant that fights free radicals and keeps the penis healthy. Alpha lipoic acid slows the aging process in penis cells, which reduces premature aging of the penis skin, keeping it healthy and reducing an overly wrinkled appearance that commonly comes with age.

L-Arginine: L-Arginine is an important enzyme that targets penile blood vessels and capillaries, increasing oxygen flow to the penis cells. Oxygen is essential in maintaining the overall health of penis, and increased blood flow helps deliver other essential nutrients to the penis, as well.

Vitamin A: Vitamin A is touted for its anti-bacterial properties. When added to a penis vitamin cream, the purpose is to eliminate penile odor caused by bacteria found in the genital area. Thus, a formula with Vitamin A can help the user feel fresh and clean all day long.

Vitamin B5: Vitamin B5 is an essential vitamin that aids in penis cell metabolism and overall healthy maintenance of all penis cells. It has life sustaining properties that contribute to healthy functioning of the penis.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C contributes to collagen production and increases firmness of the penile tissue, making it an important ingredient to have in a penis vitamin cream. Vitamin C contributes to erectile functioning, as it is a structural component of the blood vessels, meaning it plays an important role in achieving healthy erections.

Vitamin D: Vitamin D has become known as a “miracle” vitamin due to its proven disease fighting properties and contribution to cell functionality. It is a key ingredient in a penis vitamin cream.

Benefits of using a penis vitamin cream

There are many reasons to use add a quality penis vitamin cream (most health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil) as part of the daily grooming routine. A cream containing the 9 essential ingredients listed above can help increase penis sensation, lead to softer and healthier skin, decrease risk of infection, increase healthy circulation and prevent the formation of scar tissue.

Sugar Cravings and an Underactive Thyroid

You buy a Kit Kat when all you wanted was a bottle of Advil at the drugstore. You count down until you can clock out so that you can make a batch of cookies. Whether you have been diagnosed or not, sugar cravings can be a sign of an underactive thyroid. Your sugar cravings and indulgences are not entirely your fault. But, if you do have a thyroid problem, you will have to be even more proactive in the battle against sugar. Fortunately, you have resources to help you.

Jon Kabat-Zinn, famed teacher of mindfulness meditation and the founder of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, defines mindfulness as, “Paying attention in a particular way; On purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.” Before you drive through Taco Bell for their new churros that promise an, “addictive taste,” practice mindfulness. Check in with yourself. Do I really need this churro? Is this churro good for me? Am I really hungry? Maybe I’m dehydrated and simply thirsty for water? Am I tired? Do I need a nap? Maybe it’s not about a churro at all. Your sugar cravings may be out of control, but if you are not practicing mindfulness, you will continue to pack on the pounds and your health issues will snowball from eating well, too many sno-balls.

We often eat without thinking about it. Think about THAT. How often do you think about your food choices before you prepare or order food. How often do you think while eating, Am I full? Most of the time we eat when we are full, but we continue to eat because we are not practicing mindfulness.

Weight Watchers is known for their acronym, HALT. Hungry, Anger, Lonely, or Tired. Notice the next time you are craving something sweet. Be mindful. Check in. Instead of devouring a cupcake, take a nap. Even for 15 minutes. Even if you don’t fall asleep. Just closing your eyes and resting helps put your craving for sugar at bay. Snooze in your car on a lunch break, hide under your desk. Put your baby in his crib to play and go lie down. Find a way.

Perhaps you are craving sugar out of anger. Be mindful. Check in. Why am I angry? How can you resolve it or express it in a healthier way rather than eating a bag of peanut M & M’s? Can you write an email to the person and save it as a draft? Call your Mom and vent? Work it out at the gym? Beat up a pillow? Does anyone do this?

It’s so much easier to not eat your third Oreo at 11PM if you do not have Oreos in your pantry. I know it sounds simple, but if you keep a healthy pantry and fridge, the likelihood that you will change out of your pajamas, put on your shoes, grab your keys and drive to the store at 11PM for Oreos is highly unlikely. This might not be foolproof, but it reduces your chances of caving into your sugar cravings greatly if you do not have sugary sweets in your home.

Eating carbohydrates leads to eating sugar leads to eating more carbohydrates. It’s a vicious cycle. A great way to break this cycle is by eating less carbohydrates and upping your protein intake. If you eat more protein and less carbs, you will have less sugar and carbohydrate cravings the following day. Try it. For one day. Cut back on carbs. Go without sugar, or cut back significantly and see what you crave and how you eat the following day. Sugar cravings are your body’s way of telling you that you need to eat more protein. Protein including, but not limited to; meat, poultry, beans or peanut butter (free of high fructose corn syrup, of course). You can still eat bread- just eat Ezekiel bread. This type of bread is low on the glycemic index. Meaning, it’s low in sugar and high in sprouted, natural grains. It is surprisingly good. I particularly enjoy the Ezekiel bread 4:9 original (in the orange bag) or the cinnamon raisin loaf.

You can still eat pasta-just eat whole-wheat pasta. But, protein will keep your energy levels up and will help you resist sugar. It’s like buying wellness insurance against a potential sugar coma disaster.

Next, you will want to cut back or completely cut out caffeine. Caffeine kick-starts a blood-sugar frenzy in your system that leads to sugar cravings. It is best to avoid it as much as you can.

Progesterone cream can be helpful for women and low thyroid patients who get sugar, (especially chocolate) cravings in the second half of their cycle. The cream, “Pro Gest” is excellent and can be found at the below website. It is applied sparingly daily to your wrist or tummy. Ask your doctor or feel free to do more research before you decide to use a progesterone cream.

“Whenever I feel the need to exercise, I lie down until it goes away,” Paul Terry. I know very few people who actually get excited to exercise. You should see how slowly I tie my running shoes simply to put off going to the gym. However, most people do not regret the endorphins they get after spending 30 minutes on a treadmill. Exercise combats sugar cravings. Dr. Robert H. Lustig, expert on sugar addiction, believes exercise is key in improving insulin sensitivity and weight control.

• Toned muscles. Exercise, particularly weight-training, improves skeletal muscle insulin sensitivity–because insulin works better in strong lean muscle.

• Exercise Guidelines for Type 2 Diabetes. The latest guidelines for exercise in type-2 diabetes call for weight/strength training for 2, or ideally 3 times a week! “Exercise and type 2 diabetes: American College of Sports Medicine and the American Diabetes Association: joint position statement” Med Sci Sports Exerc. 2010;42:2282-2303.

• Stress reduction. Exercise reduces stress and the release of the stress hormone cortisol–appetite goes down when stress goes down.

• Detoxifies fructose. Exercise makes the body’s “Citric Acid Cycle” run faster, which detoxifies fructose, improving liver insulin sensitivity–and preventing fructose from turning into fat ( www.happyhealthylonglife.com )

Stay hydrated. Drink a ton of water and then drink more.

Cheers to less sugar cravings!

5 Cold Sore Fixes That Will Save You From Misery

Today is the a special day for you. When you wake up this morning, somehow you feel a pesky cold sore forming. The worst thing is that they always show at the wrong time. Not only that these sores can painful, imagine the embarrassment that you have to deal with. You are definitely right when I say they are downright annoying. So why don’t you catch them early, and fend them off with 5 tips as illustrated below.

Abreva (docosanol) is one of the best over-the-counter topical remedy for cold sores. I believe you have watched a commercial for Abreva at least once in your lifetime. The ad may shed light on the ugly sides of the herpes virus. But Abreva is known for its effectiveness in minimizing the pain associated with fever blisters. It also helps making the size of the blisters smaller. When you start to feel that tingle, you should apply it as soon as you can. Abreva also makes it possible for you to put makeup on sore that has been treated.

Apply with a cotton bud. You should not use your finger. The herpes virus is contagious, so it can easily spread to other regions of your body if your fingers are infected. You should not use it more than 10 days. The cream is meant to be used 5 times daily. Once the sore has become non visible, you can stop using it.

Generally, the results you get Abreva is not comparable to the prescription option. However, due to its price that most people can afford to buy it, I think you should try it.

If you are the kind of person that will faint at the sight of needles, then oral prescriptions would be best for you. Phone your doctor for information on Famvir, Zovirax, and Valtrex and maybe you can take them. These oral prescription can help you fight off infection and prevent the herpes virus from spreading.

If you have no time to visit your pharmacist, then you can try Visine. You can also calm the inflammation of cold sores with this eye drop.

In Europe, most people who choose holistic treatments for cold sores use lemon balm or mellisa. The substances in this essential oil have exhibited their abilities in suppressing the herpes virus. The German researchers found that the outbreaks were less frequent or the sores were non-existent for those with chronic cold sores who used lemon balm often.

In laboratory setting, resveratrol, has demonstrated its ability in suppressing the herpes simplex virus. Based on a study performed at the Northeastern Ohio University, if resveratrol cream was applied one or six hours after the subjects were infected with the herpes virus and applied topical from two to five times daily, the cold sore stopped developing, The effectiveness of resveratrol cream is comparable to 5% acyclovir topical cream. Another good thing about resveratrol is that it works in herpes infected animal even the virus has developed a resistance against acyclovir. No side effects were documented until now.

In Hindsight, Pancreatic Cancer Reared Its Ugly Head With Subtle Early Signs

My father died over 4 years ago from pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately, the first sign my father had of this cancer (he awoke jaundice) was also the final stages of this hideous disease. All cancers are terrible, but pancreatic cancer takes it one step further. Its first noticeable symptoms are usually the final ones. In hindsight, I realize my family and I were given many clues that my fathers health was changing. Unfortunately, not one of us noticed those signs in time.

One of the first signs of pancreatic cancer is abdominal pain, frequently radiating to the back. My father did not have radiating back pain, but instead suffered a dull, achy pain. Since he had always had a troublesome back which lead to surgery years earlier, he dismissed this as nothing serious. He started sessions with a chiropractor, who tried to alleviate the constant ache.

Another symptom that was overlooked, was his weight loss. He had always been a giant of a man and usually maintained his weight at 240. He started losing weight, but insisted that he was tired of his belly being his table and wanted to lose the pounds. I believe he truly felt what he was saying was true, but the underlying cause is what has me convinced that pancreatic cancer was rearing its ugly head very early.

Around the beginning of 2003 my father started getting picky about his food. Nothing grossly peculiar, but for a man who would sit down and enjoy every hearty meal, suddenly some of his favorite foods just didn’t taste right to him. He would have my mom taste the morsel and although she would tell him that it was fine he would insist it tasted funny or was not prepared right.

In hindsight my Dads food tasting different was a very big sign that his health was changing, but certainly not the biggest clue that we got and failed to notice. My Dad was a beer drinker his whole life. He drank beer everyday. I don’t want to make him sound like a hobo on the tracks, but he worked hard and he played hard. He enjoyed beer with his meals. He enjoyed beer after mowing his grass. He enjoyed beer watching his football games. He was a beer drinking guy.

Imagine to our amazement, when he just stopped drinking it. He just didn’t care for the taste any longer and drank water or diet cola with his meals. That still didn’t trigger a clue for us and it masked the clue for losing weight. With my father not drinking beer it was a given that he was going to lose weight. Therefore we lost another valuable clue that my fathers health was changing. All of this was approximately 1 year before his diagnosis.

Another sign that we didn’t recognize was my Dad constantly eating peanuts. He could not get enough of them. Shortly before his skin turned jaundice, his whole body became itchy. I have since learned that the itchiness was caused from bile salt crystals backing up under his skin. The tumor was at the head of the pancreas and unknowing to us was already blocking his bile duct. I don’t know where the peanuts fit in other then their salt content. He might have been craving for salt since it was accumulating in his skin tissue instead of being distributed throughout his body, but that I’m just guessing.

I am not in the medical field, but I have been obsessed with pancreatic cancer funding and trying to find early detection. Pancreatic cancer is a silent killer and the deadliest of all cancers. I am hoping that by writing this article it can bring awareness to its readers on some very subtle changes in ones health that were obviously noticeable in my Dads case, but not observed or processed by us as anything major or needing our immediate attention.

Commonly Displayed Flags

There are many different types and themes of flags that you can display. You can display these flags by using a flag pole or a flag stand attached to your house. Flag pole installation is relatively cheap and easy so you can put one in if you do not have one. Or if you are not interested in putting a flag pole in or getting a flag stand than you can hang up banner flags on your house. As you can see there are many different types of flags. There are three most common flags that hang on or by American homes.

One of the most common pennants that Americans adorn there homes or yards with is the American pennant. The American pennant is known for it’s thirteen red and white stripes and it’s fifty white stars in a dark blue background. Many Americans like to hang this pennant up to show pride in their mother country. To Americans the American pennant is a symbol of patriotism. Quite a few American citizens like to hear their nation’s pennant flapping in the wind.  This is why it is the most common pennant that Americans choose to adorn their homes with.

Another one of the most common pennants is a college or university pennant. Many people fly these pennants to represent the university or college that they attended. Others fly college or university pennants to represent the university that they are going to go to. Others have college or university pennants on their house or in their yard to show loyalty to a sports team. The most common pennants tend to be those of big state universities with strong sports teams. This is why it is one of the most common pennants that Americans choose to adorn their homes with.

Another one of the most common pennants is a holiday pennant. These holiday pennants are often as diverse as the United States of America is. Holidays range from Easter to Hanukkah to St. Patrick’s Day to Independence Day. Many people like to show holiday cheer through their various pennants. The pennants can be used to get you ready for the next big holiday on the calendar. If you drive around town then you will probably come across at least four different holiday pennants. They are often used to represent who you are and what you celebrate. For instance, if you are a Christian then you would probably hang up Easter and Christmas pennants to represent your religion. If you are Jewish then you might hang up a Hanukkah pennant that features a menorah. This is why holiday pennants are one of the most common pennants that American choose to adorn their homes or yards with.

Clearly, there are three prominent pennants that people in America tend to display. These three pennants are displayed so frequently for very different reasons. The American flag is displayed to express patriotism; university pennant, loyalty; holiday pennant, cheer. Pennants are used for many different reasons to express different things.

How to Shrink Prolapsed Hemorrhoids and Make Your Symptoms Disappear Fast

Almost half of the adult population in the developed nations of the world like Europe and USA will experience hemorrhoids at one time or another. Occasionally people in the younger age bracket will also be affected by hemorrhoid, it also affects more men than women generally although pregnant women are particularly prone to piles.

The major predisposing factor is the abnormal build up of pressure in the butt area secondary to constipation characterized by straining during defecation.

This pressure is transmitted into the rectal and anal area causing the veins of this area to bulge out into over enlarged pile veins, other common predisposing factors include the state of pregnancy, anal sex, obesity, aging and an inactive lifestyle.

There are two main forms of hemorrhoids:

(a) Internal hemorrhoids

(b) External Hemorrhoids

Occasionally when these two forms co exist, this condition is known as intero-external hemorrhoid. Internal hemorrhoids could be asymptomatic or they could present with painless bright red bleeding, pain and mucus discharge.

The symptoms of pain, mucus discharge and itching are more often associated with a type of complicated internal hemorrhoids called prolapsed hemorrhoids.

Prolapsed internal hemorrhoids protrude out of the opening of the anus, initially the protrusion is slight and only occurs during defecation and reduction is spontaneous (it goes back inside by itself) these are known as second degree prolapsed hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids that prolapse on defecation but need to be reduced manually by pushing them back into the anus are called third degree hemorrhoids.

When hemorrhoids are permanently prolapsed they are called fourth degree hemorrhoids. These are the types of internal hemorrhoids that are usually associated with mucus discharge, itching and a feeling of heaviness in the rectum. When these third degree or fourth degree hemorrhoids get gripped by the sphincter muscles, they can get strangulated and become extremely painful.

These severely prolapsed third or fourth degree prolapsed hemorrhoids are also easily predisposed to the formation of blood clots leading to the formation of thrombosed hemorrhoids.

To effectively treat prolapsed hemorrhoids the following treatment options can be used:

1-Pile Surgery:

You can make use of simple surgical methods on some very few occasional hemorrhoids that fail to respond to the much simpler forms of treatment.

These simple surgical methods are (1) Banding treatment (2) Sclerotherapy and (3) Photocoagulation. Sometimes several prolapsed hemorrhoids are treated with the more complex hemorrhoidectomy.

The main disadvantage of these hemorrhoid surgeries is that they could be associated with some unpleasant side effects which include post hemorrhoid operation pain and discomfort thus making the experience of pain even worse.

2-Herbal remedies for hemorrhoids and lifestyle modification:

Although your might initially scoff at the idea of using simple herbs and lifestyle changes to have any meaningful impact on the hemorrhoids swellings, the truth of the matter is that these simple methods have over the years built a track record of undisputed success in prolapsed hemorrhoids treatment.

Some of these natural herbs and lifestyle changes have recorded up to 96% cure rate of permanent healing of all forms of hemorrhoids and these natural methods have the advantage of acting naturally without any side effects and they are usually very cheap.

Shortening, Butter or Margarine – What is Best for Baking Cookies?

There is so much controversy about what is best to use for baking cookies. You may find yourself scratching your head trying to figure out this dilemma. Which one is healthier to use than the other? With a little research we can solve this dilemma.

First, what is shortening? It is a semisolid fat and refers to a hydrogenated vegetable oil. There is so much controversy about what is best to use for baking cookies. You may find yourself scratching your head trying to figure out this dilemma.Hydrogenation is a process of bubbling hydrogen through vegetable oil, changing its chemical structure. This process turns the liquid to a solid at room temperature and below. Shortening is 100% fat. Butter and margarine contain 80% fat. Hydrogenation produces trans fats, which are the unhealthy fats known to cause heart disease. The advantage of shortening over butter or margarine is its smoke point (higher temperature before burning). Another advantage is its has a higher melting temperature. During the baking process of cookies it helps dough hold its shape longer. This allows the flour and eggs to set, keeping the dough from spreading too much. There are some new shortening products on the market that contain no trans fats or very little.

Second, what is margarine? Margarine is again made from vegetable oils and contains no cholesterol. Margarine is high the in good fats (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated), but contains some saturated fats. Some margarine is worse than others. Hydrogenation solidifies the margarine. The harder the margarine the more trans fats it contains. Trans fat raise levels of bad cholesterol and lower the levels of good cholesterols, which makes it worse than saturated fat. Tub margarine is lower in trans fats than stick margarine.

Third, we all know that butter is created from a dairy cow’s milk cream fat. Being that, it is animal fat, which is loaded with saturated fat and cholesterol. Butter and margarine are equal in calories and fat. Each contains about 35 calories and 4 grams of fat per teaspoon. Butter is believed to contain traces of hormones and antibodies fed to the dairy cows. On the bright side butter contains fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K.

OK, now that you are confused now more than ever let’s compare. Margarine is better than butter when it comes to our heart, but falls flat in the flavor department. Butter also adds a creamy texture. Shortening helps to keep your cookies from deflating or spreading out, but again it does not enhance the flavor. In fact shortening has no flavor. If you are a fluffy cookie fanatic use half shortening and half butter. You get the raised cookie with the buttery flavor.

Finally, what should you use, salted butter or unsalted butter. Salt in butter acts as a preservative, so butter won’t turn rancid when left out at room temperature. The down side is you are adding extra salt to your recipe. The problem with reducing salt in a recipe to substitute for salted butter is different brands of butter has different salt contents. The rule of thumb is when using salted butter reduce the salt added ½ teaspoon per cup of salted butter. The purist baker will always use unsalted butter. That way they can be in control of the salt being added to the recipe. Salt in butter is also believed to add flavor, overpowering the sweet butter taste, and mask butter odor.

When it comes right down to the decisions between shortening, margarine, salted butter or unsalted butter is a personal preference. But at least with information we can make an informed decision. The best way to decide what is best for you is experiment. Try different ways to bake cookies and have fun. As they say, “The journey is the best part of the trip.”

The Great Gatsby – An Analysis of Love

“If love is only a will to possess, it is not love”. America in the 1920’s was a country where moral values were decaying. Every American had one objective to achieve: success.

Francis Scott Fitzgerald, the author of The Great Gatsby, presents realistic image of American life in the 1920’s. His characters, like many people of that period, only care for money; becoming rich is their main objective. As a result, their relationships, no longer based on love, fail.

All of the relationships in the novel are failures because they are not based on love, but on materialism.

One example of a failed relationship in The Great Gatsby is the adulterous affair between Tom Buchanan and Myrtle Wilson. This affair is based on mutual exploitation. Tom uses Myrtle for sex; Myrtle receives gifts and money in return. Tom Buchanan, a resident of East Egg, is “old money”, so he looks down on everyone who is not from his class. Thus, he treats Myrtle as if she is trash. Myrtle Wilson, the wife of poor George Wilson, has become disenchanted with her 12 year old marriage of her husband’s lack of success. Her desire for a better life is evident when she relates her first meeting with Tom:

“It was on the two little seats facing each other that are always the last ones left on the train. I was going up to New York to see my sister and spend the night. He had on a dress suit and patent leather shoes, and I couldn’t keep my eyes off him, but every time he looked at me I had to pretend to be looking at the advertisement over his head. When we came into the station he was next to me, and his white shirt-front pressed against my arm, and so I told him I’d have to call a policeman, but he knew I lied. I was so excited that when I got into a taxi with him I didn’t hardly know I wasn’t getting into a subway train. All I kept thinking, over and over, was ‘You can’t live forever; you can’t live forever” (Fitzgerald 42).

Myrtle even believes that Tom will leave Daisy and marry her. In reality, Tom does not even see Myrtle as a person but as a sexual object. This is made clean by his degrading treatment of Myrtle at the party, especially when he breaks her nose for having the nerve to mention his wife’s name:

” ‘Daisy! Daisy! Daisy!’ shouted Mrs. Wilson. ‘I’ll say it whenever I want to! Daisy! Dai – ‘ Making a short deft movement, Tom Buchanan broke her nose with his open hand” (Fitzgerald 43).

The pathetic nature of their relationship is reinforced when she dies. After a fight with George Wilson, Myrtle runs away towards a golden car that she thinks is Tom’s. The golden colour of the car symbolizes money , the wealth that Myrtle so desires. Apparently, the car is driven by Daisy, another symbol of materialism, and what happens has a symbol of significance:

A moment later [Myrtle] rushed out into the dusk, waving her hands and shouting … The ‘death car’ as the newspapers called it, didn’t stop … Myrtle Wilson, her life violently extinguished, knelt in the road and mingled her thick dark blood with the dust … The mouth was wide open and ripped a little at the corners, as though she had choked a little in giving up the tremendous vitality she had stored so long (Fitzgerald 143-44).

The nature of the relationship between Tom and Myrtle is best symbolized by the expensive dog leash Tom had bought for Myrtle’s puppy. It reflects the fact that Tom is the master, the one who controls his “pet” with money. As the master, Tom is free to do as he pleases. As the “dog”, Myrtle receives gifts for proper behaviour. The unequal status of Tom and Myrtle reflects the failure of their relationship, which, given its adulterous nature, was doomed to fail from the inception.

The Buchanan marriage is also a complete failure. It is the war that separated Daisy and Gatsby, and his absence is one of the reasons she married Tom. However, the most important factor was his money and status. Tom is from a rich family. He can give Daisy everything she wants. The wedding ceremony proved this:

In June [Daisy] married Tom Buchanan of Chicago, with more pomp and circumstance than Louisville ever knew before. He came down with a hundred people in four private cars, and hired a whole floor of the Muhlbach Hotel, and the day before the wedding he gave her a string of pearls valued at three hundred and fifty thousand dollars (Fitzgerald 82).

That is a marriage of convenience -not love- is apparent on several occasions in the novel. For example, while Daisy was giving birth to their only child, “Tom was God knows where” (Fitzgerald 23). Furthermore, Tom’s philandering begins only after 3 months of his marriage. A newspaper account of Tom’s accident mentions that the chambermaid he was with her broken arm. Of course, Daisy knows Tom ways too well; she even offers him her “little gold pencil” so that he gets the number of a “pretty but common” girl he is interested in at Gatsby’s party, although Tom pretends to want to switch tables for another reason. The fact is that their marriage is founded upon wealth and power; that is what keeps them together, and what reveals how barren a marriage it is.

Gatsby is the one who tries to separate Tom and Daisy. It is Gatsby’s dream to be reunited with Daisy, to go back to the past, and to marry Daisy. This is his incorruptible dream, as Gatsby tells Nick: “‘Can’t repeat the past?’ [Gatsby] cried incredulously. ‘Why of course you can!'” (Fitzgerald 117).

After reuniting with Daisy, Gatsby begins an affair that is made possible because he is extremely rich; Daisy is a materialist that can be lured by money. When they first reunite, Daisy shows little true emotion. It is only when he shows her his huge mansion and expensive possession that Daisy displays strong emotion. For example, as Gatsby shows her his expensive clothes from England; “Suddenly, with a strained sound, Daisy bent her head into the shirts and began to cry stormily” (Fitzgerald 99).

When the affair between Gatsby and Daisy is discovered, Tom and Gatsby confront each other over Daisy. In this crucial event, Daisy reveals her true view of her affair with Gatsby – that it was simply a way of filling in her empty days, an entertainment. It is also revenge for Tom’s many adulterous affairs. Deep in her heart, she is not determined:” ‘Oh, you want too much!’ [Daisy] cried to Gatsby. ‘I love you now – isn’t that enough? I can’t help what’s past.’ She began to sob helplessly. ‘I did love him once – but I loved you too'” (Fitzgerald 139).

Having betrayed Gatsby twice already, Daisy now betrays him for the final time – unwilling to face the consequence of Myrtle’s death, Daisy and Tom conspire to frame Gatsby for the accident. Gatsby is then killed by George Wilson, as Tom has led him to believe that Gatsby is both Myrtle’s lover and killer.

In the end, this relationship fails because Daisy values nothing but materialism; she does not even send a flower to Gatsby’s fueral.

Love is essential in a relationship. However, materialism is essential of the relationship presented in The Great Gatsby. Those relationships are failures because they are founded on the physical rather than the spiritual. Fitzgerald shows that any relationships based on materialism will fail in the end.

Alcohol and Hemorrhoids – Can Alcohol Cause Hemorrhoids?

What is the relationship between alcohol and hemorrhoids and can alcohol cause hemorrhoids? Actually there are many things that can cause someone to get hemorrhoids. So I can understand why you might be searching for the cause of why you’re getting yours.

So, how does alcohol cause hemorrhoids? If you drink 1 or 2 glasses of alcohol a night then chances are this might not be the cause of getting hemorrhoids. However, if you binge drink 1 or 2 nights a week or drink too much to often then you could be dehydrating your body and causing constipation and dry stools. Constipation and hard dry stools are the leading cause of getting hemorrhoids. But this is not the only way you might get hemorrhoids from drinking alcohol.

Drinking 3 or more glasses of alcohol in a night can temporarily raise your blood pressure. If you tend to go out and party and over do it several nights a week you can cause long-term high blood pressure. The hemorrhoidal veins in the rectum are thin-walled veins. These veins tend to swell easily and can cause hemorrhoids problems from the added increase in your blood pressure.

A moderate drinker that drinks no more than one or 2 drinks a day could have a lower blood pressure because it helps lower your daily stress levels and helps you relax after a hard day. However, if it’s over done it can become a serious problem.

What’s considered moderate drinking?

  • Men 65 or younger than 1 to 2 drinks a day is considered moderate.
  • Men over the age of 65 then 1 drink a day is considered moderate.
  • One drink a day is considered moderate at any age for women.

If you have hemorrhoids does that mean you can’t drink alcohol? Yes you drink alcohol however, it would be best that you abstain until your hemorrhoids heal. If you do drink then I recommend that you drink a glass of water before you drink alcohol and drink water again after you drink alcohol. I also recommend that you don’t drink more than 2 glasses a day. By drinking alcohol in moderation and few glasses of water you will lower the risk of getting dehydrated and lower the risk of having constipation or hard stools. This will help give your hemorrhoids time to heal.

Like I said before there are many reasons why you might be getting hemorrhoids. It could be your alcohol use and it could be several things combined. A good natural home treatment will help you find the cause of the problem.

The Difference Between HVAC Certification and HVAC License

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians are skilled tradespersons that install heating and cooling systems. Additionally, they maintain and repair the system when problems arise. This may be in a residential setting or for commercial facilities. Those who work for a retailer are often responsible for selling service contracts to clients.

Types of Certification

Becoming HVAC certified will depend on the type of certification that you desire and the training that you have achieved. Since many people work in the field under a licensed HVAC person, they may have some experience before taking classes. Those who have over a year of experience in installation and at least 2 years in maintenance will have a wider choice when it comes to the type of HVAC certification they choose.

In order to become certified, the proper classes must be taken. Before doing so, a high school diploma or GED is required. This is required for admittance to most accredited HVAC training programs. These programs offer classes in the installation and repair of HVAC as well as reading blueprints, temperature control, construction and equipment design. The programs are available at various schools and colleges as well as online.

The programs are generally from six months to two years and depending on the length of the course, upon successful completion, the student will receive a certificate or an associate’s degree. There are also opportunities available for those who join the Armed Forces to receive specialized training in the HVAC field.

Licensing

After completing the training program successfully, earning a certification or a degree, sitting for the HVAC licensing exam will be required by most states to work in this field. The licensing exam will differ somewhat from one location to another. The main consideration is the knowledge of all the aspects of installation and repair of HVAC systems. In addition, some licensing exams require the applicant to know electrical codes.

If the career chosen will include working with refrigerants, a separate certification is needed for this field. This includes high and low-pressure refrigerants and servicing small appliances. When this career is chosen at an early age, usually while in high school, it is beneficial to take classes that can help in preparing the student for the classes they will take next. The basic recommendations are mathematics, physics, electronics and mechanical drawing.

There are additional licenses needed if the HVAC career will include contractor services. This is often a career that is chosen after learning the other aspects of HVAC. The qualifications to apply for a license as an HVAC contractor include being at least 18 years of age, speaking and reading the English language and four years of verifiable experience in warm heating.

If the applicant meets these qualifications, they must take an ICC examination. The International Code Council (ICC) develops these exams and they are in charge of giving them for many states. They are given at approved testing sites across the nation and are required for anyone that represents themselves in any way as an HVAC contractor.

As seen, the HVAC career is quite diverse. It can include various aspects of this profession, each having their own requirements and licenses.

Management Skills Vs Leadership Skills

Leadership style sets the tone of a recreational agency. Some lead by example, others lead with an iron fist. Let’s examine the two leadership styles to determine what is best for your leadership role.

Transformational leadership creates a learning environment for staff members. It fosters trust, and inspires employees to work toward a collective vision through intrinsic process motivation. Transformational leaders are effective communicators, share information, and have a strong vision. The style heightens employee aspirations and focus employees on the goal. The leader serves more as a coach than a supervisor. Less absenteeism occurs, as people want to be at work, because they feel valued.

Transformational leadership has four key components:

Idealized influence – serves as a role model, encouraging staff to do as he/she does;

Inspirational motivation – motivates the staff through shared vision and enthusiasm;

Individualized consideration – expresses a genuine concern for employee’s well being and is attentive to personal needs;

Intellectual stimulation – challenges followers to be innovative and pioneering, always questioning the status quo.

There is a misconception that transformational leaders are weak, yet these managers are constantly challenging employees to achieve more and push the envelope creatively.

On the other end of the spectrum, transactional leadership focuses on a punishment and reward system. The chain of command within the organization is clear. Obeying the instructions of the leader is primary goal, and subordinates need to be carefully monitored.

This form of leadership is common is business, notably for hourly employees who are replaceable and have little personal investment in their work. Leaders use punishment and reward systems and attempt to correct undesirable performance while it is happening. Unsatisfied employees do not come to work, as they feel undervalued and replaceable.

Transactional managers serve an administrative role by utilizing a short-term perspective, accepting the status-quo, and copying processes year after year. The manager does not inspire a vision, does not effectively communicate goals, nor foster collaboration. Typically, they remain in middle management roles and cannot ascend to senior executive, as they fail to see the big picture.

Case Study:

A director of a youth dance studio hires instructors as independent contractors to teach dance basics and create routines for a holiday recital. The leader has set many rules for the teaching staff, mostly as a result of incidents that have occurred in past years.

For instance, instructors must submit their substitute requests in August for the September to December class session. Last minute teacher substitutes are not permitted, except with a doctor’s note, and are cause for immediate dismissal of the teacher. All instructors must contribute time, outside of class hours, to prepare for the holiday dance recital. Typically this means additional practices, answering parent questions, sending e-mail blasts, and day-of-show duties. This time is unpaid; however, if an instructor wishes to maintain a job, one must donate the extra time.

The program director has a clear vision of how the end product of the recital should look. The director chooses music, costumes, run order, and writes the final script. Although the recital is a creative endeavor, the instructors’ creative role is through choreography only. Because the instructors are not invited to participate in the creative process, the environment is not developmental, and staff feels replaceable. For this reason, there is a high turn-over rate, which is what has lead to the large number of rules and restrictions in the contract. Talented instructors do not want to stay for the long term, as the instructors feel undervalued and unappreciated. The recreational agency has a transactional leader at the helm.

A progressive approach that melds both transformational and transactional leadership styles would reach a more positive outcome in the recreational forum. For instance, although the director may have an idea of the recital’s format, a brainstorming meeting should take place in the summer to involve staff in the creative process. Ideas and suggestions need to be voiced, discussed, and vetted. Even if not all the ideas are put into action, instructors need to feel valued and included in the process. Along the way, the director should keep instructors informed of why choices were made to proceed in a particular direction. The communicated will take more effort on the part of the leader, but it will ultimately lead to more participation and a learning organization. Many recreational directors are worn out from lack of resources and an increasing demand from customers and budget requirements, and do not have the energy to be a transformational leader. However, for the purposes of fostering a positive, learning environment, the inspiration and stimulation must come from the leader as a role model.

Some leaders may be frustrated by the give-and-take process of brainstorming and creativity, as one believes they have all the answers. However, a leader cannot see oneself as the authority on a subject. Instead, one should be a coach in the process, guiding the team toward their own decisions and outcomes. When ownership of the end product, such as the dance recital, rests with the team, not solely the leader, a learning organization is achieved.

With regard to hourly staff, the manager can combine the two leadership styles, as hourly staff needs a more concrete structure to follow for break/lunch times, list of duties, and extrinsic rewards. The manager can still lead by positive example with hourly staff, and provide team building sessions when appropriate. The hourly staff should feel part of the overall team, even if staff is not all part of the creative process. Effective leaders make all staff members feel valued.

The Cause of Crohn's Disease

What causes Crohn's Disease? That is the question that researchers have been looking for an answer to. It is also the question that those afflicted with Crohn's hope the researchers will find the answer for all their hearts. Once a cause can be established with certainty, a cure will not be far behind.

There are many theories about what causes Crohn's Disease. CCFA (Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America) sponsors research and there has been progress made in the fields of immunology (the study of the body's immune-defense system) microbiology (the study of microscopic organisms with the power to cause disease) and genetics. Many scientists and researchers now believe that the interaction of an outside agent (such as a virus or bacteria) with the body's immune system may trigger the disease, or that an agent might damage the intestinal wall, causing or accelerating the disease process.

In studying the immune systems of Crohn's patients, researchers have found that their immune systems react to normal bacterium found in the digestive tracts of all humans as though they were an invasion enemy and mount an attack to destroy them. Drugs have been designed to turn off the immune system and thenby reduce Crohn's symptoms.

Microbiology studies have related the cause of Crohn's to Johne's disease which is found in cattle and other animals. Using the relatively new technology of DNA and RNA, scientists have isolated MAP (Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis), the bacterium that causes Johne's, in tissue samples of Crohn's patients.

Genetics may well play a role in causing Crohn's disease. Studies have shown that Crohn's is more prevalent in some families than in others and the first Crohn's gene, Nod2, has been identified.

The cause of Crohn's Disease will always be found. It may turn out to be a single cause or a combination of causes. Research continues everyday. When a cause is finally established, scientists will find a cure. There is hope!

Yamaha Saxophones – Saxophone Brands

Company: Yamaha

Founding Date: 1887

History:

Yamaha produces many things, from electronics to motorcycles, BUT the company was founded as a musical instrument manufacturer in 1887 and has become a major contender in the saxophone market.

In those days, company founder, Torakusu Yamaha, started the company to produce pianos and reed organs. With such deeply musical roots, Yamaha’s entry into the saxophone market was all but inevitable.

The first Yamaha saxophone hit the market in 1967. In that year Yamaha released both the YAS-31 alto, and the YTS-31 tenor saxophone. Yamaha’s entry into the baritone sax market, the YBS-61 came two years later, in 1969. Today Yamaha has a full range of saxophones from soprano to baritone, and they span from student models to professional models.

Who Plays the Brand:

A short list of artists who play Yamaha saxophones includes Frank Catalano, Jeff Coffin, Denis DiBlasio, Jeff Kashiwa, Dave Koz, Robert Kyle, Joe Lullof, Sue Terry, Phil Woods, Michael Hester, and Mark Rivera. The Yamaha website has a larger listing available.

What They Are Known For:

Yamaha is known both for their quality, affordable student lines and their studio worthy professional horns. Yamaha has built their reputation by listening to the artists that play their instruments. This is demonstrated by the company’s relationship with Eugene Rousseau starting in 1973, Jean-Yves Fourmeau in 1987, and Nobuya Sugawa in 1988.

In their early years of production, Yamaha was not known for having the best quality saxophones. Over the years, however, their reputation has improved steadily. This can be attributed to a manufacturing philosophy that the Japanese adhere to known as ‘kaizen’. The word is best translated as ‘continuous improvement’. Under this philosophy, the Yamaha saxophone product line remains in a constant state of improvement.

Interesting Stories About Them:

“I’ve repaired a few of these (Yamaha saxophones, and there is) only ever customer damage on these; wear and tear doesn’t happen on this instrument, given the owners love their instruments and care for them immensely. So all in all, a must buy, or at least must try for any very serious musician!” writes a reviewer of a Yamaha alto saxophone.

“Why Yamaha?” ponders Chris Kelsey of www.jazztimes.com. “Price point has something to do with it. Yamaha has long provided a lot of horn for the money. Yet, when I bought my soprano in the early ’90s, money was no object, and I bought a Yamaha YSS-675 anyway. I tried every horn out there at the time, new and vintage, including a mint Mark VI, and the Yamaha was the best horn I played, at any price … and I wasn’t even aware at the time that there was an even better Yamaha model, the YSS-875. Bottom line: Yamaha saxes hold their own against pretty much anything out there. That they give more bang for the buck is a much-appreciated fillip.”

Price Ranges:

Baritone saxophones range from $4.367 to $6,771.

Tenor saxophones range from $2,111 to $3,970.

Alto saxophones range from $1,494 to $3,799.

Soprano saxophones range from $1,962 to $3,931.

Dealing With Difficult People In Your Life

When coming face to face with a difficult or irrational person, most likely anger is the main subject matter here. If it takes two hands to clap, then it takes one to step back and let the anger and abuse bounce off. Imagine that the abuse hurl at you as a parcel in the mail, don’t accept it and it will be returned to the sender. The anger belongs to the opposite person, it should, therefore, remain there.

Many a times, a quarrel or a fight started when one reacts to the other person’s anger. It is very difficult to remain calm when anger usually spews personal attacks. But if you are very focus on not letting your moods be swayed by outside factors, then it will be easier to step back from all the insanity and stay detached mentally.

Only when one is in a tranquil state unaffected by external factors, positive or otherwise, can one plot the next move.

So what is the next move? Onwards, we would want to look at how to deal with it.

Assuming you are a human with a nice balance of pride and ego, having to deal with external negativity must be a real pain in the side. It is not to say there is a sure way of guaranteeing that what you choose to do will be a permanent and surefire solution. As with dealing with human relationship, it is all trial and error. And if you don’t succeed, there is always next lifetime to try again.

Remove. Sounds extreme? To protect one self is an animal instinct, and we are living in the animal kingdom. However, I am not talking about murder, but rather what you can do to remove the negativity cause from your life. Move away? Leave a job? End a relationship?

Confront. If you have enough leverage, negotiate. State the terms, voice your discomfort, then draw the line and dare the other person to cross it. Many bullies are cowards and back down from a real challenge. You win. But if this doesn’t work, at least you can make a fast decision to cut the losses.

Train. Some nasty behaviors stemmed from lack of emotional control. Adults are just as guilty as children when it comes to being incapable of expressing themselves. In this case, it is you who will need to “potty-train” by doling out “punishments” and “rewards” in accordance to the other person’s good and bad behaviors.

Forgive. If the opposite party is guilty of nasty behavior, it would actually look better on us not to stoop to their level. Forgive and move on may be the best advice yet. But be sincere about it, or else anguish may turn to hate and you will join the ranks of the undesirables.

Let’s be honest here for a minute. If you choose to bear with bullies in your life, there must be a good reason. Weigh that reason, was it a decision made because you wanted something in life and having to bear with abuse is part of the package? If it is, then you shouldn’t be complaining.

If you think dealing with difficult people on a professional level is hard, let’s talk about dealing with those you have close relationships with. Believe me, not every parent is a child’s best friend, and not every child has a favorite aunt, and how about the in laws?

Every child who has to deal with difficult parents will probably agree with me when I say it is so hard to say ‘No’ when the unreasonable scenes start. Be it filial piety, sincere gratitude or respect, it is so hard to tell the other party to stop trampling your feelings. We may have primates for ancestors, but really, how can you forget the kindness your parents shower you with to bring you up?

And that is precisely it. Guilt. That is the manipulation tool parents would use. It takes emotional maturity not to fall into such guilt traps and win a truce.

First and foremost, boundaries need to be set. Clashes in relationships start from not being able to respect each other’s space. However, this is probably very difficult to achieve. You can set a boundary and the opposite party will step over it before you could blink. It is the sense of “I am your kin, what’s yours is mine.”

Next, avoid guilt traps and eliminate them. Every time you sense a guilt trap in the making, don’t fall for it, don’t react to it. Rather, step back and encourage the opposite person to stop. If you can understand that such manipulators use guilt because they are powerless, then you can develop empathy for them.

Lastly, if all else fails, then running away will be an option. If your disability to deal with or bear with these negative aspects is hampering your life’s development, then it is perhaps tactical to move away from the sources.

Here is the bottomline. Difficult and irrational behaviors are signs of emotional immaturity. To deal with it, we must, as human beings living in a social circle. Success in handling such situations requires the level of maturity the offender lacks and to want to deal with the problem is the first sign of maturity.

Success may not be guaranteed in every instance but to try is half the battle won.
