Vaginal Itching & Infections – Does Your Vagina Itch and Sting When You Pee

Whether the vagina is only a “titchy itchy” it can still mean something is wrong. Nonetheless the itch does not have to be something of a serious nature either. A vaginal itch can be caused by simple things like being allergic to the material of your underwear or that your jeans maybe too tight. Should the itch be one that has you aggressively clawing away at the skin near to tearing the flesh, and you know the cause is not that of cloth or tightness then you will have to have yourself checked over by your doctor? Vaginal itching is not uncommon nor are the reasons for the itch occurring and that being more times than not an infection.

Most common vaginal infection that includes itching and burning is thrush. It also causes the vagina/vulva to swell along with soreness.

Thrush is referred to as a yeast infection or candidiasis which is an overgrowth of yeast that brings a variety of nasty symptoms. Although the infection can be treated, it is known to come back, if this be the case in your case then seek medical help as it could be something more serious. We all have yeast in our bodies and if grows out of control, then thrush is usually the result.

All genders young and old carry yeast in and on their bodies without any problems. Yeast is notably known living in the intestines, vagina, mouth and skin. This may not sound healthy but the body has ‘friendly’ bacteria which help keep yeast levels low.

Soreness, swelling and redness are primary symptoms if delicate tissue of the vagina is infected. Thrush not only causes a stinging sensation when peeing but is painful too. The sting is due to inflamed tissues in the vagina. It is painful to have sex, sexual intercourse should not even be considered until the infection is cleared. Movement i.e. sitting and walking can because you pain. All women have a vaginal discharge and know what the norm is, but if thrush is present it can show up white and thick (not all the time) with a strong smell of yeast and like yoghurt to look at. It can also be watery with a light smell. Yeast thrives in warm, moist locations with low acidity and an ample supply of sugar.

Taking antibiotics can cause the infection.

Antibiotics kill friendly bacteria of which is needed to keep yeast levels low. Antibiotic drugs are prescribed to fight infections, but while doing so can kill ‘friendly’ bacteria, such as lactobacilli. Without lactobacilli, the balance in the vagina is upset giving cause to Candida.

1.Taking the birth control pill affects hormones which result in a woman`s ability to metabolize (process) sugar. Yeast feeds on sugar, and any extra supply in the body, will give reason for yeast to develop more. Because of this, they say taking the pill no longer augments a woman`s risk of thrush.

2. Women who suffer from diabetes are more likely to suffer because diabetes increases blood sugar levels, which may, in turn, higher the sugar level in vaginal secretions. Diabetic women normally have high sugar levels in their urine, therefore encouraging thrush by feeding on yeast

Like with most disorders and conditions the best effective way to keep healthy and keep disease at arm`s length is to eat healthily. A healthy well balanced diet along with light exercise is seeing off life threatening illnesses every day. Specific foods may have an impact on thrush. Some medics say sugar; dairy produce, coffee, tea and wine contribute to thrush by increasing urinary sugar.

You can relieve the itch using Aloe Vera which will also cool down burning around the vagina.

Treat the burning with cold water or ice cubes wrapped in a tee cloth. If it’s good enough for babies its good enough for you. Rub the outer lips of the vagina with nappy rash cream

Introduce to yourself and into to your daily routine the suggested below to help prevent thrush infection

Eat yoghurt with lactobacillus acidophilus, or take lactobacillus acidophilus supplements.

Never douche – the vagina is a self cleaning organ so douching is not necessary. Avoid using chemical based beauty products.

Wear cotton under wear or go commando if you have no cotton briefs. Wear loose clothing round the genital area.

Remove tampons regularly

After using the loo wipe from front to back. Candida in the bowel can infect the vagina causing infection.

You must not be embarrassed over having this infection; in fact you should not be embarrassed over any vaginal issue. Vaginal infections are very common indeed and so are the doctor appointments for women who wish to suffer no more. So make an appointment and ‘rid’ any worries, the pain and most importantly of the fear of telling your doctor.

Psoriasis – The Mental and Emotional Issue and Solution

As any psoriasis sufferer knows only too well, psoriasis is not simply a physical disease. By that I mean, its effects are not limited to our flesh. True, the outward manifestation of psoriasis appears in our skin, but the disease reaches farther into our being than our skin. It affects our mental and emotional being as well.

Interestingly enough, we may feel that this effect on our mental and emotional being, from outward appearances, goes unnoticed. But is this really the case? Let me present an unrelated hypothetical example, and then we can analyze how this example relates to psoriasis, and our search for a more complete healing.

Suppose a woman keeps telling herself, "I'm not attractive to men. What is she going to do, without even realizing it? Her body is going to obey her mind! When she is in a group of people, and men are present, her body will act out exactly what she keeps telling herself it should! Her body language will indicate that she is not approachable or a good communicator. She may turn slightly away or fold her arms across her body. She may 'put on' a phony smile, or not look men in the eye when she speaks to them or they to her. She may not really pay attention to what they are saying. She may jokingly make cutting remarks, or put people down when she speaks. What happens? Men notice this, avoid her and do not engage her in conversation! Just like she keeps telling herself! This just keeps the vicious cycle going and reinforces in her mind how unattractive she thinks she is! This in turn, affects her actions even more, which again reinforces the negative thoughts, and on and on …

How does this example relate to the psoriasis sufferer? More importantly, what can be done about it?

The point is that both the conscious and subconscious mind affect the actions of the body. In the example above, the woman's conscious mind ("I'm not attractive to men") acts like a command to her subconscious mind. In turn, her subconscious mind carries out this command. This is diagnosed in the body language and actions of the woman. The woman, though, is totally unaware of the mind-body connection. She may even think she is acting in an outgoing approachable manner!

It can be the same with the psoriasis sufferer. He or she may feel self-conscious about psoriasis, and develop a self-condemnatory or negative attitude. This manifests itself in body language that, while unnoticed by the individual because of months or years or negative reinforcement, is clearly not noticed by others – job interviewers, prospective clients, supervisors, etc. The sufferer may conclude that he lost the job, sale or promotion because of the psoriasis, when in reality, it was his own body language that failed him!

What, then, is the solution? Quite simply, any program aimed at healing, clearing or curing psoriasis should involve more than relieving the physical manifestation of the disease. It needs to reach into the inner being. Here is where most current therapies, and programs fail. There is no pill, lotion, herb, ointment or other psoriasis medication available that can do this.

There is a program, however, that is designed to heal both the physical and mental aspects of psoriasis. The link to this program, "4 Keys To Clearing Psoriasis" may be found in the link below.

Allergy Symptoms You Should Know

A person has allergy when one's immune system reacts to a typically undamaging and harmless substance. There are 2 types of allergies, the perennial type and the seasonal type. The perennial can take place year-round while the seasonal type on the other hand, takes place at a particular time of the year. Effective treatments are available. This includes staying away from specific allergens and also with the help of medication. Symptoms will vary from one person to the other. It mainly depends on what causes it and how severe the reaction is.

There are essentially three primary categories of allergic reactions: mild, moderate and severe. If you are dealing with airborne allergies, sneezing, mild itching, rashes and shortness of breath may take place depending on what is causing a person's allergies. Anaphylactic shock could be an exit if there is a severe reaction. It is a very serious condition and may risk the life of a person. Anaphylactic shock is a condition wherein the airway puffs up close and blood pressure goes down.

Let us focus on airborne allergies for the reason that they are common to a lot of people. Airborne allergies include pollen allergy, pets or dusts and many more. Sneezing, coughing, itchy nose, throat and eyes, conjunctivitis, watery eyes, dark circles visible under a person's eye, and constant upward nose rubbing are some of the most common symptoms of airborne allergies.

Problems breathing can occur when something different takes place in a person who is susceptible and sensitive to substances that may possibly cause an allergic reaction. As soon as the allergen is on the lining of the inside part of a person's nose, chain reaction occurs that causes the mast cell in these tissues to give out histamine as well as the release of other chemicals. These chemicals could lead the cells contained by a number of blood vessels in the nose to contract. When this situation happens, swelling of the nasal passes occurs and nasal congestion takes place. Itching, irritation, sneezing and overload mucus production are some of the causes of histamine.

It is very important to take actions right away when allergy symptoms occur. Knowing the different substances that could possibly cause an potentially severe reaction to your body is also necessary. It is advisable to consult the doctor immediately when allergies get severe. Seek help when the need arises and also before things get worse.

Improve Joint Flexibility – How to Press and Stretch to Relieve Muscle Tension

Muscle tension, joint flexibility, and the feeling of being tied up in knots can all be caused by a phenomenon called trigger points. Have you ever had a pain in one area and when a massage therapist rubbed a different place on your body you felt the pain melt away? If so, you've experienced the result of "trigger point therapy."

Trigger points are also called muscle spasms. Technically they are areas of hyper-irritability in a muscle that may refer pain & / or numbness to another area. In other words, a trigger point is a "knot" in the muscle fibers which follows the muscle fibers from lengthening to their longest length. Since muscles generally insert at a joint, when the shortened fibers are pulling on the insertion they are causing tension, limiting range of motion, and weakening the entire muscle because these fibers are basically out of commission.

Trigger Points and Stretching

A muscle originates on a bone, crosses over a joint, and inserts onto a bone that will move when the muscle contracts. This is the way the body moves, and it functions perfectly until a trigger point forms in the muscle. As the muscle shortens it is pulling on the insertion point and when you try to move in the opposite direction you feel stiff, inflexible. You may decide to stretch, however, people sometimes complain about feeling worse after stretching than they did before doing the stretch. To stretch a muscle, while it still has an active trigger point, could cause tiny tears to occur in the fibers, and could cause even more pain.

Consider this analogy. If you tied a rope onto a strong tree and then went straight across and tied the other end of the rope onto a flexible tree, the smaller tree would continue to stand straight. If you then tugged on the rope the flexible tree would bend. However, if you tied a knot, or two, or three, into the rope, the flexible tree would be leaving over. If you then pushed the bent tree so it was again standing up straight, you would only cause the knot in the rope to tighten, and you would overstretching the fibers on either side of the knot. This is exactly what happens when you try to stretch a muscle that is shortened by knots in the fibers, without first releasing the trigger points.

Five Tips to Effectively Treat Trigger Points

As mentioned, the trigger points caused knots to form in the muscle and the shortening of the fibers put a strain on the insertion point on the other side of the joint. You can reverse this situation by doing the following steps:

1. Treat. Hold the pressure on each trigger point. In order to effectively stretch a muscle you need to first press on each trigger point, holding the pressure for 30-60 seconds.

2. Understand the Muscle Movement. Look at the muscle that you will be treating. To best treat and stretch a trigger point, you need to know what movement the muscle makes. For example, the muscles in the back of your neck will pull your head back so you can look up at the ceiling, and the muscle on your shoulder blade raises your arm. To stretch, you need to go in exactly the opposite direction as the movement of the muscle.

3. Stretch. Move so the muscle needs to stretch. For example, the trapezius muscle will raise your shoulder, so to stretch it you want to move your head away from your shoulder. You can accomplish this by dropping your head in the opposite direction while pulling your shoulder down toward the floor.

4. Press and Stretch for Optimal Benefit. To optimize the treatment, whenever possible, continue the pressure on the deactivated trigger point and then move your body so the muscle is forced to lengthen.

5. Slowly Move the Joint in a Smooth Circle. Slowly rotate your shoulder in a circle, move your leg so your hip joint loosens, curl and open your fingers fully, circle your neck, and arch your back like a cat. Finally, stop pressing on the trigger points but continue the slow, relaxed movement of your joints.

The more often you limber up your joints, the more flexible you will feel. Always go only to the point of "this promises great," never trying to overstretch or make a move that is beyond your comfort level. Stretching feet great when you have untied the knots that have held you bound!

Why Depression Prevails

Lack of physical exercise is the primary factor for the prevalence of depression. With passage of time, man has evolved from a physically challenged creature to one who is mentally burdened. The absence of physical challenge and overwhelming abundance of mental work is forcing more and more people to become victim to depression.

When a person is engaged in work requiring long hours of concentration, the brain produces large quantities of neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters enable the person to perform work effectively. At the same time, the large release of these chemicals also increases receptor density. Once a person completes his or her work the quantity of chemicals returns to normal levels. The increased density of neurotransmitter receptors, however, does not decrease. Here, receptors now need increased levels of chemicals to produce effects as those produced prior to the increase in density.

This can be best understood by means of the following example. If you keep your hand submerged in cold water, the water will feel less cold as the length of time of contact increases. This is a short term adaptation of the body to change. Now if you return after a few days to water of the same coldness and submerge your hand, you will again feel cold. Repeating this process for several months will force your body into long term adaptation. You will no longer find the water cold after a few months even on initial contact. Instead, you will need to lower the temperature of the water to feel cold.

Similarly, increase in neurotransmitter release in the brain over an extended period of time increases density of receptors. Our body has receptors which respond to specific chemicals. The response translates into different effects depending on the chemical and receptor. For example, when the body produces a chemical known as epinephrine, the chemical attaches to epinephrine-receptors stimulating the receptor to cause an increase in heart rate.

The chemical mainly believed to be responsible for mood regulation is serotonin. An increase in serotonin during mentally challenging work leads to an increase in density of serotonin receptors. Now, serotonin receptors require increased levels of the neurotransmitter to produce their effect. The body, however, does not produce increased levels of neurotransmitter once work is over. The result is depression.

In order to circumvent this situation, people need to incorporate exercise into their daily routine. Exercise results in a massive release of chemicals in the body. This helps to stimulate receptors which, due to increased density, display diminished responsiveness to the normal levels produced by the body. This release continues over an extended period of time helping to alleviate symptoms of depression.

Is Hypnotherapy The Answer To Phobias

Phobias are intense and irrational fears that create strong fear and panic in a person. They interfere with a person’s ability to socialize, work and in severe cases, live normally.

Most people experience anxiety or fear about certain events in their lives. For example, it is stressful for the majority of people to attend a job interview or to be assessed for performance at work. Phobias, however, are irrational fears that can prevent people from living normal lives.

Phobias belong to a spectrum of mental problems known as “anxiety disorders” and can be separated into three basic types: specific phobias, social phobia and agoraphobia. Specific phobias revolve around the fear of a specific object or situation.

Common specific phobias include fear of flying, and fear of snakes and spiders. If the specific phobia is not encountered often in a person’s life, it will probably not be very disruptive. However, if it is a common occurrence then the afflicted person may well be living in an unhealthy mental and emotional state and not be functioning at their best.

Social phobias include being afraid of being watched and evaluated by others when in public, fear of public speaking and stage fright. People experiencing social phobias are more than just uncomfortable or worried, they are intensely anxious.

Agoraphobia is a fear of being trapped and of experiencing a panic attack in a public place. A panic attack is usually the trigger for agoraphobia. When many people experience a panic attack away from home, they fear the experience occurring again and therefore desire to avoid public places. For many people, this means never leaving home.

The symptoms of phobias include a sense of terror and often impending disaster, increased heart rate, rapid breathing, and sweating palms. These symptoms can be triggered by simply expecting the event or circumstance that triggers the phobia. For example, people who have a fear of flying may experience anxiety symptoms for days before the event.

Phobias can have a strong hold on individuals. Traditional methods of dealing with phobias include the use of medications to block feelings of anxiety and panic, and cognitive-behavioural therapy which helps people to retrain their thoughts and responses. However, many people have had great success in overcoming phobias through the use of hypnosis. Hypnosis is used to treat phobias by reprogramming thinking patterns. Hypnosis is able to by-pass the conscious mind with its tendency to resist change. The suggestions target the subconscious mind and are readily accepted.

The fears which cause phobias reside in the subconscious mind. The original cause of the fear may have been valid but is no longer real. Hypnosis can reach this part of the mind and give it suggestions to ease the anxiety and convince it that there is no longer any valid reason to retain these fears.

Common phobias aided (and even cured) by hypnosis include:

o Fear of flying and other forms of travel.

o Fear of heights.

o Fear of childbirth.

o Fear of animals (usually a specific type).

o Fear of insects (spiders are very common).

o Fear of performing.

o Stage fright.

o Claustrophobia and agoraphobia.

o Fear of nightmares (can cause insomnia).

o Fear of the dark.

o Fear of doctors and dentists.

o Fear of exams.

Unlike medication based treatment, hypnosis has no negative side-effects. Even cognitive-behavioural therapies can have negative side-effects because some of them can trigger severe panic in order to desensitize a person. This is extremely traumatic for many people. Hypnosis, on the other hand is very relaxing and soothes the nerves. It calms anxiety and gently gives suggestions directly to the subconscious mind. As such it offers benefits even beyond the purpose of eliminating phobias.

As a practicing hypnotherapist, I have helped many clients to overcome debilitating fears and cure phobias and thereby become fully functional and successful human beings. If you are suffering and want to cure a phobias that is limiting your choices and your life, I strongly recommend you seek the services of a qualified hypnotherapist near you.

Seven Foods to Avoid for Brain Fog Relief

“The wise man should consider that health is the greatest of human blessings. Let food be your medicine.” – Hippocrates

It’s essential to understand that foods reflect how we feel and this is especially true for those who struggle with brain fog (depersonalization) and other anxiety reactions. Some foods fuel the system and help maintain stable serotonin and blood sugar levels. This leads to a keen sense of well being. Other foods do the exact opposite and often trigger anxiety, panic attacks, feelings of brain fog and even phobic reactions. This is why it is important to learn which foods will work for you and which foods to avoid if you suffer with anxiety reactions.

Foods to Avoid:

1. Sugar: Sugar will temporarily induce pleasant sensations in the brain and body but within a short period of time these feelings will subside and crash, leaving the individual feeling foggy, anxious, irritable, hungry and lethargic. Anyone who has ever struggled with anxiety or brain fog will notice that sugar is their number one enemy. It will also disrupt sleep patterns and exacerbate feelings of OCD and Panic Attacks. Giving up the excess use of sugar provides one with such dramatic relief that this in itself proves out the fact that sugar is detrimental to anyone suffering with feelings of brain fog and anxiety. Remember, that chemical sugar substitutes are equally as detrimental.

2. Alcohol: Alcohol is known to many as “liquid sugar” since it is rated highest number on the glycemic index. It will temporarily lift one’s spirits but a steep price is paid for this for this fleeting illusion. Alcohol also affects one’s blood sugar levels, sense of well-being, serotonin levels and results in feelings of intense brain fog, anxiety, sleep interruption, irritability and inability to maintain stable blood sugar levels the day after imbibing. One often experiences spikes and drops in blood sugar levels the following day as the body tries to restore stable blood sugar levels. This produces discomfort and enhanced brain fog along with a plethora of anxiety symptoms for anyone who has experienced this effect.

3. Caffeine: Unfortunately, caffeine, found in a multitude of substances, is a very difficult chemical to endure if one is sensitive to brain fog and anxiety reactions. It is speeds up metabolism, increases heart rate, creates irritability, enhances anxiety reactions and is found in many foods we normally eat. Yes, we all know that coffee and tea contain caffeine and substituting these drinks with decaffeinated versions is essential, but there are some decaffeinated brands that still have a degree of caffeine within. Certain coffee shops that offer decaffeinated substitutes have had their decaf tested and some still rate high on the caffeine chart. Your best proof is the way you feel after using these brands. Believe me, your body will alert you. Also, herbal teas, for the most part are caffeine free but there are many that are not. Check out your green teas and make sure you are selecting the one’s that are decaffeinated since even small dosages of caffeine will have an effect on a sensitized body. Chocolates also carry a caffeine load, some more than others. Avoid dark chocolates as they are higher in caffeine.

4. Certain Food Additives: Sorbitol, Xylitol, Mannitol are chemicals used to sweeten foods and products we often use on a daily basis. They are in drinks, desserts, cereals, mouthwash and toothpaste. They not only create problems with brain fog and anxiety but also upset the stomach and add to IBS symptoms as well, even if you’ve never experienced IBS in the past. They are best avoided because they have zero benefits to those with brain fog or anxiety.

5. Low Fat Products: Whenever you see “Low Fat” on labels you will know the fat has been replaced with SUGAR. This is easily recognized by reading the labels of all low fat foods. Do not be fooled by “low fat” claims because the sugar which replaces the fat will do a good job of adding fat to the body and in some cases more so than the original fat.

6. Healthy Juices: Juices are delicious and often provide high levels of Vitamins, essential for good health, especially Vitamin C. This is why I’m not stating to avoid juices altogether but instead suggesting to add water to your 100% breakfast juice and by doing so will avoid the huge sugar rush connected with this product. You will still reap the benefits of the juice without the side effects of too much sugar.

7. Healthy Snacks: Read labels carefully. Most of these “healthy snacks contain far more sugar and chemical products than you want to ingest. For years people were eating products such as low fat granola bars and rice cakes, believing they would maintain a good figure and feel healthy as well. Not true. Their blood sugar levels soared and so did their feelings of brain fog and panic episodes.

There are so many “clean” foods that one is able to obtain which help maintain a healthy mind and body. Also, learning how to use proteins to produce balanced and stable blood sugar levels is essential. One is actually able to choose the way they wish to feel once they learn the basics of good eating, especially for feelings of brain fog and the anxiety condition. Shop smart by steering your cart to the peripheral of the market. This is where all the fresh foods are placed. Avoid those center aisles filled with processed and refined foods.

Eating correctly, in conjunction with learning how to think correctly, will allow you the benefit of eliminating all sensations of brain fog and anxiety reactions.

Take the time to learn which foods work for you. It is well worth the effort because you deserve to feel your best. It is your choice and by doing so, you are able to create a clear mind and body that remains calm and relaxed. It is always your choice, so take responsibility for your good health by learning the natural path to an increased sense of well being.

PCOS and Miscarriage – The Terrible Link

Losing a child when pregnant is a terrible thing for any couple to go through and can lead to years of grief and mental problems in some. The health risks to the mother are also substantial with women every year suffering major health problems due to birthing difficulties. PCOS and miscarriage have been linked into this awful issue as the condition of Polycystic ovary syndrome is becoming more widely known and understood.

PCOS is a condition where a woman's ovaries produce male hormones called androgenic hormones which testosterone is a part of. This influx of hormones that are supposedly to be minimal in a woman's body cause man problems with the reproductive system such as irregular menstrual cycles, painful periods, infertility and of course miscarriage even if an egg is fertilized these problems. Along with these issues PCOS has been proven to cause weight gain, acne, insulin resistance and even strokes making it a potentially dangerous condition.

Despite all the problems of PCOS many women do not even know they have it and this can lead to a terrible miscarriage that if they were informed of their condition may have been avoided and with an estimated one in ten women suffering from PCOS it is advisable to be tested for the condition.

Luckily for those that want to give birth but are plagued by PCOS there have been breakthroughs in PCOS treatment but not from the main medical sector. Instead the revolution has come from alternative medicine where homeopaths have discovered ways to change a person's lifestyle including diet, exercise, sleep patterns and more to give the body fuel to regulate its hormones where modern medicine has failed.

So if you are concerned about PCOS and miscarriage then it is prudent to see if you are one of the 10% of all women who suffers from the condition before you plan a family and if you are afflicted then you know you have options to have a healthy child without the pain of a failed pregnancy.

The Implications of Alcohol Use among Patients with Hepatitis C

Despite the fact that long-term alcohol use is a known cause of liver diseases such as liver fibrosis and cirrhosis, a series of recent studies upon this matter have identified additional aspects relating to impact of alcohol consumption among patients with hepatitis C. The main purpose of the recently conducted studies was to reveal the way alcohol use interferees in the treatment of hepatitis C. Another aim of the studies was to identify other effects of alcohol abuse on the health of patients diagnosed with liver disease.

The most comprehensive study upon the implications of alcohol abuse on hepatitis C treatments and therapies has revealed various interesting facts. The study involved the participation of 4061 subjects diagnosed with hepatitis C and confronted with drinking problems. Among the total number of 4061 study participants, around 700 had just started to receive the treatment of hepatitis C at the date of the study. The participants were asked to respond to several questions structured in questionnaires. The questions covered many different aspects regarding the drinking habits of the respondents: the frequency of alcohol use and the quantities consumed, the existence of any drinking problems in the past or present, the period of time over which the subjects had been confronted with drinking problems , when the subjects had first started to use alcohol, recent / past unpleasant experiences with alcohol consumption, etc.

First of all, the study results have revealed the fact that alcohol use (in the past or over the period of the last 12 months) among patients with hepatitis C greatly reduced the chances of becoming eligible candidates for receiving hepatitis C medical treatments. Persons confronted with drinking problems (alcohol addicts) have always been considered inappropriate candidates for hepatitis C specific therapies and treatments due to the following reasons: frequent alcohol use is known to decrease the efficiency of hepatitis C treatments; persons who have suffered from alcohol dependence in the past may have developed a range of conditions that render them unable to tolerate hepatitis C treatments and therapies.

According to the study's findings, consumption of alcohol in the past did not influence the efficacy of the hepatitis C treatments received by the subjects or their treatment interruption rate. However, recent alcohol use was correlated with significantly higher treatment interruption rates. The team of researchers has concluded that the eligibility for hepatitis C therapies and treatments was significantly reduced both categories of past and recent drinkers. Furthermore, recent use of alcohol was correlated with higher treatment interruption rates. The most surprising finding of the recently performed study consistants in the equal response to hepatitis C treatments of both categories of recent drinkers and nondrinkers. This interesting result suggests the fact that the efficiency of hepatitis C treatments is not strictly affected by alcohol consumption.

Sexual Health: 3 Macrobiotic Home Remedies for Men

Are you looking for a way to bring passion back to the bedroom? It’s easier than you might think, when you have the macrobiotic secrets to creating healthy libido and sex drive.

A macrobiotic diet is a powerful tool for health, cleansing the entire body, strengthening the metabolism, restoring health and energy, and even boosting libido. But a macrobiotic lifestyle means more than just removing animal fats, dairy products, refined flour, and sugar from your diet. It can also include natural home remedies that strengthen the sexual and reproductive organs and improve sexual health, such as the following three libido boosters for men:

1. Ginger Compress on Kidneys

The kidneys control adrenal function, including your stress response, energy levels, and sexual vitality. A ginger compress on the kidneys breaks down stagnated fat and mucous. It also increases circulation by naturally opening the blood vessels and alkalinizes bodily fluids, bringing them back to a more balanced and healthier state. It’s easy to bring back the passion to your sex life with a simple ginger compress to strengthen the kidneys and adrenal glands.

1. Grate 5 ounces of fresh ginger and wrap the pulp in cheesecloth.

2. Bring a gallon of water to a boil.

3. Turn off heat. Add ginger “bag” to water, and allow ginger to steep 5 minutes.

4. Using rubber gloves, immerse an organic cotton towel in the ginger “tea” and wring it out.

5. Place the hot folded towel over the kidneys and cover it with another towel to maintain heat in the compress.

6. When the towel begins to feel cool, wet it again and replace.

7. Repeat the same procedure for 20 minutes.

To strengthen sex drive and libido, it’s best to use this ginger compress twice a week for one month.

2. Ume Sho Kuzu Tea

Ume Sho Kuzu Tea effectively strengthens the digestion and also restores overall energy and sexual vitality.

1. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of kuzu root starch in 2-3 tablespoons cold water.

2. Add an additional cup of cold water to the kuzu-water mixture.

3. Bring to boil over low flame, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.

4. When the opaque liquid turns translucent, add ½ to 1 whole umeboshi plum.

5. Reduce flame and add ½ teaspoon of shoyu soy sauce.

6. Stir and simmer 2-3 minutes.

7. Drink while hot.

Take Ume Sho Kuzu Tea every other day for three weeks.

3. Miso Soup

One bowl of miso soup daily helps dissolve fat and mucous in the reproductive organs, restores energy, and improves sex drive. Barley or brown rice miso neutralizes toxins, alkalinizes the blood, and provides beneficial bacteria for the intestines. You can prepare the soup with various vegetables like wakame seaweed, chopped carrots, onion, daikon, or shiitake mushrooms. Green leafy vegetables may be added when the soup is almost ready to serve. Prepare the soup in its simplest form by adding 1 teaspoon of barley miso to 1 cup of liquid.

Along with removing mucous-causing foods from your diet, these macrobiotic home remedies can help to improve overall health while boosting sexual energy and vitality.

Your Bleeding Gums Are Telling You Something Important – Are You Listening?

Not taking care of your teeth could be a direct link to many medical problems. This might be of interest to you. Did you know that daily brushing and flossing of your teeth might just protect you from a heart attack?

It's true. And the best part about good oral health is … you have a lot of control over it.

Studies have found that people with gum disease are twice as likely to suffer from a heart attack as those with healthy gums. In one study, researchers looked only at people with confirmed heart disease. Those with poor gum health had a much higher incidence of heart attack. 1

Whether you have heart disease or not, there is clearly a benefit to good oral care. Today, I'm going to give you some ways to easily go above and beyond brushing and flossing. You'll boost the health of your teeth and gums … and your heart.

Support Your Oral Health With Supplements

Interestingly, research has shown that it's the bacteria in your mouth that causes gum disease and places your heart at greater risk. Recent studies have also demonstrated that gum disease can also cause inflammation by the increase of your C-reactive protein (CRP) in your body. High CRP levels are linked to poor homocysteine levels in your heart. Whatever the mechanism, there are many supplements you can take that can be very beneficial to your health.

Vitamin C has always been proven helpful for your oral health by preventing gingivitis. 2 Plan to take at least 500 mg of vitamin C every day – I prefer 1000 mg.

Vitamin D may play an important role in reducing the swelling, bleeding and inflammation associated with gum disease. In one study, those with the most vitamin D in their systems were 20% less likely to have bleeding gums than those with the least. 3 You should take at least 400 IU of vitamin D3 each day.

Coenzyme Q10 is another nutrient that has long been known to help with gum disease. In fact, a significant number of patients with gum disease have a CoQ10 deficiency.4 Take 60 mg every day to protect your gums. If you already have gum disease, take 100 mg a day until your gums have recovered. CoQ10 is also very good for your heart so staying with 100 mg will continue to give you multiple benefits.

Taking good care of your gums and teeth literally takes less than ten minutes a day, and you get such great health benefits from that little bit of time. So, be good to your mouth.
