4 Possible Nail Fungus Complications

Nail fungus is a condition characterized by the thickening, discoloring and possible ‘flaking’ of the nails on the toes and (rarely) on the fingers.

Now one commonly asked question by people who are handed a nail fungus diagnosis is as to whether nail fungus can lead to further complications, and if so, what those complications could be.

The answer to the first part of the question is ‘yes,’ fungus can indeed lead to complications – though that is not always the case.

1) One of the possible complications from fungus is total nail damage, where the infected nails – whether on the toes or on the fingers, become irreparably messed up. What is worth noting here is that fungus is a living thing, depending on the nail tissue for its nutrition. So the longer you leave your nail fungus infection unattended to, the more the fungus continues feeding on the nail. This can get to a point where the nail is so badly messed up that the only way to treat it is to remove it – and make room for a new one grow in its stead. Naturally, as you can imagine, removal of a nail is not likely to be a very pleasant procedure. Hence the need to seek treatment for fungus early on, when permanent nail damage has not yet taken place.

2) Fungus, according to researchers, also puts you at a higher risk of cellulitis. Thus this increase in the risk of cellulitis is the second possible complication from nail fungus. Cellulitis itself is a much more serious infection, which can spread to the rest of the body. Furthermore, unlike nail fungus, a fungal infection that can be quite easily combated, cellulitis is a bacterial infection – the sort that tends to rather problematic in getting rid of.

3) The third possible complication from fungus is pain. Initially, the condition is not painful, just disfiguring. But if pain is the only motivation that will get you acting on your health, then you can count on fungus sending it your way, sooner or later. And when it comes, the pain from fungus can be quite excruciating. Thankfully, it is only when nail fungus is left unattended for a very long period of time indeed that pain can result. At this stage, the only real treatment open to you may be the surgical removal of the affected nail, and this is also likely to be an even more painful procedure.

4) The fourth possible complication from fungus, especially if you have a condition like diabetes, is that blood supply (and supply of ‘sensation’ through nerves) may become impaired. This can lead to more serious conditions, possibly even making it hard for you to use the afflicted body organs (whether hands in the case of nail fungus affecting finger nails, or the feet, in the case of fungus affecting toe nails).

Thankfully, these complications are only likely to take place if you leave your nail fungus unattended for too long. As long as you seek timely treatment for the condition, it is really not something you should be too worried about.

Is Snoring Affecting Your Relationships?

Snoring is a larger issue in relationships than what many experts had originally thought. It is a real problem that at times can separate a couple within their own home and ever break up a marriage or relationship without really knowing that snoring was the original under culprit. After a period of time when sleeping with a person who snores, there will be a mild to serious problem of sleep deprivation.

Sleep deprivation is happens as you tend to awaken several times throughout the night, and the end contributions to mistakes such as lack of concentration and irritability during your day. It tends to start subtle, but will very quickly result in emotional unease, physical mistakes and faltering in overall work performance, among some other daily problems. Irritability and exacerbated stress periodically leads into physical ill healthiness over prolonged time periods. In a relationship or marriage, arguments are bound to start more often than before the snoring began, and the couple may not even understand why they are having disagreements over issues that in the end.

In many cases, the overall effects of snoring can become worse for the person, who is woken up consistently than the person that is actually snores. Although the person who is snoring is awakened by the fact that the flow of oxygen supply stops, from reaching the brain, alerting the person by waking often the sleeping partner is easily rattled by incomplete amount of sleep throughout the night, leading to sleep deprivation and ill health.

It is not a wonder that snoring causes marriage problems when you actually add issues of each person's life legally being affected on a daily basis. People tend to push aside the daily issues without making the correct correlations between partner's snoring and their misery. The one who snores will also be having daily issues of being off key, and they also may not be thinking that their snoring is the direct culprit to blame. But with more studies than ever before being done on snoring and the true effects, there now is no doubt of the domino effect that is set to happen in most every snoring scenario.

Snoring is an issue to be taken very seriously for more reasons than originally believed. There is no longer a way for snoring to be taken as a joke with instances of it taking a toll on marriages and directly related physical health issues that quickly arise. Snoring has now been proven to be related to heart disease, strokes, high blood pressure and sexual dysfunction in males. It is also associated with various stages of depression and other emotional dysfunctions.

There will be a lack of intimidation between couples who do not try to resolve snoring problems. This is also to be found to be true for those sleeping in separate bedrooms due to the snoring and often results in low sexual relations as couples sleep in separate rooms. So take the snoring in your relationship very seriously for reasons apart from your own health and the happiness of your partner and marriage.

Omega-3 Deficiency and Depression

Omega-3 fish oil is regularly being publicized as beneficial to your health. It contains an important fat, found abundantly in the fatty tissues of fish. Omega-3 fats have many beneficial effects, ranging from heart disease prevention to anti-inflammatory properties. They are also very important because of intense mental health implications.

Omega-3 fatty acids are a very important nutrient in decreasing the risk of depression. It may also help alleviate the symptoms of bipolar patients and work as a substitute to lithium as a mood stabilizing agent by inhibiting neuronal signals.

Currently in the US and Western Europe, the diet has almost been depleted of omega-3 fatty acids, compared to countries like Japan, which diets are made up of predominately fish. Rates of major depression have increased and the age of sunset has declined in every decade of the last century.

Currently the most accepted source of omega-3 is fish oil, but flaxseed oil is also a superior source. Early tests show it has potential as an alternative to fish oil. Studies have been done with depression patients in which the omega-3 content in fish oil required that they take 30 capsules a day to get the needed amount, which proved to be a very unpleasant task. Flaxseed oil is concentrated enough to require only a few capsules each day. The fish oil capsules also proved unpleasant to the patients in many ways, as the number of capsules was daunting and the fish taste was overpowering to many.

According to other studies – it is clear that omega-3 fats are also necessary for proper brain development during the critical time of early life. Cow's milk and other traditional baby formulas are both low in omega-3 fatty acids. Human breast milk, on the other hand, contains much higher amounts.

Researchers have revealed that the brain effects of omega-3 deficiency last a lifetime. Adults who were given infant formulas and cow's milk have, on average, a 9 to 10 point lower IQ than those who were receiving human breast milk.

Since the lack of breast milk results in a learning handicap, it will also handicap the resistance to depression. Researchers find that growth of the frontal lobe is impaired by omega-3 deficiency. So how do we protect ourselves from a diet low in omega-3? You can take fish oil capsules, but if you really want the best source of omega-3 – you should get it from plant sources.

Here are some plant sources you can get omega-3, Flaxseed, Walnuts, Sesame seeds, Spinach, Strawberries, and California avocado.

The Formula For Success In Your Nail Salon

Are you making the money you want in your Nail Salon?

Are you getting the clients to your salon easily? And enough of them?

If the answer is yes, I want to congratulate you on the success of your Nail Salon. If the answer is no, then read on. This week I would like to make some suggestions for growth in your Nail Salon.

It may seem like a mystery to you sometimes as to why some salons can easily obtain a full client list. How they are easily earning the money that maybe you are still dreaming about or planning to earn. I would like to take some of the mystery out of the equation for you today and give you the formula for success.

Here it is:

Persistence and Patience

That's it. Sound too simple? It is simple but being simple does not mean it is easy.

This is what the successful people have. You may see Nail Salons that appear to be busy without any effort. I can honestly tell you that this is not true.

Often times we will see successful people, whether in the Nail Industry or not, and think wow, they are lucky! They must have had a better education. They must have been born into a better family. They must be better than me. None of this is true.

When I look back at my career in the Nail Industry I remember how my salons were always full, my staff were always great and it seemed so 'simple' to have a successful salon.

Over the past few years I have been examining HOW I obtained the level of success I achieved and I discovered it really was not as easy as I remember. I did have tough days, many of them, but my love and passion for what I did each day kept me going. When I came up against a problem I found a solution. If I could not find a solution myself I would ask an expert. If they could not help I would ask another. I would seek out the answers I needed and forge my way forward.

Never ever give up.

When you see the so called 'lucky' people who seem to have it all- remember this: They are where they are because they have been persistent, consistent and patient with progress. They have worked through the problems. They have experienced more tough days than you would imagine and they have stayed in the race.

If you are not getting enough clients into your Nail Salon:

  • Find different, more effective ways of marketing to reach your market easily.
  • Examine WHY the clients may not be coming to your salon (this will require total honesty on your part and dropping the ego)
  • Find out what the clients want and give it to them in a better way than the other salons.

If you are not making enough money in your Nail Salon:

  • Discover HOW you can use add on services in your salon to increase hourly earnings.
  • Are you charging what you are worth?
  • Ask yourself WHY your clients will not pay premium prices for YOUR services and amend whatever needs to be amended

If you are exhausted from working very long hours and are neglecting your personal life:

  • Examine your values and get them prioritized
  • Figure out how you can work less and earn the same or more (there are solutions here)
  • Ask yourself WHY you put clients above YOUR well being (perhaps a little bit of self worth and personal development needed in this area)

I think the main thing to remember is that there are answers out there to all of the problems that may appear or stop you from moving forward. The 'road blocks' in life are there for us to grow as a person. If you choose to not take the challenge, there is nothing wrong with that but never complain that the more successful person has had 'more luck' than you.

I encourage you to become persistent and to be a little more patient. It is so worth it when you can get to the other side of the challenges.

To have a successful Nail Salon:

  • have clients that would not go anywhere else
  • have clients that will tell the world about you
  • have an income that covers the bills and gives you a great lifestyle
  • know you are making a difference in peoples lives each and every day
  • love what you do each day with passion and enthusiasm

Knowing that you ARE capable of the success you want and that you CAN work through any challenges is the first thing. Believe in yourself . There are many people who already believe in you because they can see how great you are .

To Your Success

What Women Really Think About Penis Size

When a man endeavors for the best in penis health, he turns to excellent penis care. But when a man is worried about his penis size, he might turn to much less healthy means in order to chase the exclusive extra inch or two. Unfortunately, there is no magic method or getting a bigger penis size – a man is simply born with whatever he is born with. The good news is that this is usually more than adequate for the ladies; in fact, they place more stock in a healthy, handsome penis than in the size of it!

Still not sure that’s the case? Check out these facts about penis size and what women really think.

How women view penis size

Though there is a wide range of penis size, most men fall firmly in the four to six-inch range. That’s perfectly normal and average. However, there are many men out there who fall outside that range, whether larger or smaller. The good news is that women view men of all penis sizes as a guy who has something to offer. Here are a few facts:

1) Women prefer a handful. Studies show that women tend to prefer a hefty handful of penis when a man is erect. This means they look for a penis that will easily fit into their hand when things are getting hot. Looking at the typical female’s hand, that corresponds with the typical penis size of anything from four to six inches.

2) They prefer more width than length. Most women prefer a penis that is wider rather than one that is longer – which makes the issue of penis length a nearly-moot point. This is especially true for women who have had children, as the width of the penis feels much better than the length does. In addition, it’s important to remember that the most intense nerve-endings in the vagina are in the first three inches or so, which makes a penis of four inches more than adequate for the job.

3) They consider more than intercourse. Sure, penetration is great, but when women think of penis size, they look at other factors. For instance, how easy will it be to have oral sex, or even anal sex? In this case, a man with a very large penis might actually be a turn-off. Many women have reported that a man who is of average size – or even a bit on the smaller side- is absolutely perfect for those other sexual acts.

4) They’re not really sure how many inches it is. But here’s a surprise: Most women, when asked how long a penis is, don’t really know. They have trouble judging the length just by looking at it and in some cases, even when they are holding it! They also tend to see the penis as being longer than it really is when it gets measured. This is a good thing for guys!

5) They want a handsome penis. What matters more to a woman than penis size? A handsome penis. No matter the size of a man’s equipment, the more attractive and handsome it is, the more impressed she will be. That’s why it’s so important for a man to always pay close attention to penis care and do everything he can to maintain a handsome penis, no matter how much size he’s got.

One way to ensure a man keeps a handsome penis is through the use of a daily penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). Look for a crème that contains Shea butter and vitamin E for softness, and well as vitamin A for odor control. A boost from L-arginine can help ensure the blood flows freely through the penis when it counts, and L-carnitine can help improve penis sensation, so both partners can have a much better time.

Ovarian Cyst Symptoms – Find Out What to Look For

Ovarian cyst symptoms may mimic symptoms that occur when a woman is pregnant. Therefore, for it to be determined whether there really is an ovarian cyst present, a doctor has to conduct some tests. An ovarian cyst occurs during the normal menstrual flow experienced by a woman. Functional cysts are not a cause for concern and are experienced by many women at some point their lives. Most ovarian cysts are benign and asymptomatic, the woman may not even realize that the cyst is present, and it may clear out on its own after one or two menstrual flows.

Symptoms that are associated with ovarian cysts are many and they can be confusing because they are similar to other symptoms experienced in many physical problems. These ailments include endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cancer or even ectopic pregnancy. Therefore getting one or two symptoms may not be a cause for concern. However, if the symptoms are severe and painful and persist over time, then you may have to visit a doctor immediately. Only a doctor after conducting all the necessary tests can ascertain whether or not a cyst is present.

The first symptom that may indicate the presence of an ovarian cyst is changes in the menstrual cycle or irregular cycles. This may be things like extreme pain at the beginning and at the end of your period; complete lack of the period, much longer or shorter flows than what you normally had or abnormal bleeding.

Other ovarian cyst symptoms include the following: Severe pelvic pain that will either be constant or intermittent and that extends to your thighs and to your back Pain during sexual intercourse Sharp abdominal pains just before the beginning of your period and just before it ends Pain when making your bowel movement Tenderness of the breasts, nausea and vomiting Heaviness in the abdomen Pressure on the rectum

As mentioned before, some of these symptoms may point to something completely different. However, there are symptoms that if they occur then you must seek immediate medical attention. If you experience sudden and severe pain in the abdomen or the pelvic area and this pain is accompanied by vomiting as well as a fever, then see your doctor immediately.

If you ignore these symptoms then the cyst may grow, twist or even rupture. This will then result in a lot of pain and discomfort for you and possibly surgery. A doctor will conduct a few simple tests and determine whether there is a cyst present in your ovary. The good news is that not all cysts are malignant and about 85% of them usually turn out to be benign. Some symptoms will disappear just as quickly as they appear because cysts that are common only require some time to clear out. As common as they may be; ovarian cyst symptoms can be an indication of a serious problem; visit a doctor so that he can allay your fears.

Thrush, Yeast and You

Thrush is caused by the same organism that causes yeast infections. It typically attacks the mouth and tongue, but if you're a breastfeeding mom it can affect the nipples. This is painful for both you and the baby. Left untreated it can spread down the throat and cause swelling.

While anyone can develop thrush, babies, people wearing dentures and those with a compromised immune system are most likely to develop the problem. The symptoms are painful white lesions in the mouth and on the tongue. The lesions may bleed. Loss of taste and a cottony feeling in the mouth can also occur.

Women with thrush on the nipples may notice changes such as increased redness, itching and pain while nursing. The pain can feel like something stabing in the breast.

Thrush may clear up on its own, but usually the body needs some help. When you see the doctor, make sure to tell him / her about any medications or supplements you take, as well as any major stresses and health conditions. If the thrush has migrated to your throat, you may need a throat culture or endoscopic exam, as that is a more serious condition than oral thrush.

Sometimes, it's best to use medications from your doctor. When dealing with thrush in breastfed infants and mothers, that is probably the best bet. Many herbs can cause problems when passed through breast milk. One thing you should note is that sugar feeds yeast. Watch the amount of sugar and other carbs until the infection is cleared up.

For healthy adults and children who have thrush, unsweetened live culture yogurt and acidophilus are helpful. Garlic supplements are a good idea, and an infusion of garlic as a mouth wash is not a bad idea. Watch sugar and carbs so that the yeast does not have anything to feed on.

People with weakened immune systems require special care when confronted with a yeast infection. This is especially true of those with HIV. Antifungal medications may be needed. Unfortunately, resistance to antifungals is a characteristic of HIV. The good news is that there is at least one medication that can help.

Diagnosis of Rheumatic Fever (RF)

The diagnosis of RF at times becomes difficult, especially when the various clinical manifestations occur either independently, or in different combinations. In such a situation, other points need to be considered, like presence of fever, pain in joints (arthralgia) ie when typical painful swollen joints were not present in the patient earlierar any of the manifestations of RF / RHD. Some laboratory tests may also aid in the diagnosis like ECG, and various blood tests like elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), presence of C-reactive protein and elevated leucocyte count (leucocytosis).

The above-mentioned are only minor criteria for the diagnosis of the RF. The major criteria for diagnosing RF retention of painful swelling of various joints (polyarthritis), involvement of heart (when on examination the physician finds murmurs, pericardial rub or signs of pericardial effusion ie fluid in the pericardial cavity surrounding the heart), including other major clinical features of the disease like rheumatic chorea / nodules, erythema marginatum, described earlier.

If anyone of the above-mentioned major criteria is present in a patient, and it is associated with any two of the minor criteria, the patient is in rheumatic activity, and needs urgent treatment. Alternately, if the patient has the two major criteria, with or without any minor criteria, an acute stage of the disease should be considered.
The idea is that early diagnosis should not be missed in any case, and the patient, if an adult, or the parents of the child, should be careful enough to keep the physician in touch with the various symptoms of RF.

In addition to the above criteria, if in a patient some evidence of infection of the specific organism, ie group A streptococcus is available, that further helps in diagnosis, and therefore, blood examination for antibodies to streptococci, or a throat culture may be carried out, if possible. However, there are no precise tests for the diagnosis of RF, and it is only through the overall clinical picture and a few general tests that the diagnosis can be reached. Other tests, like echocardiography, radiographs may also be required, depending upon the case.

Why is early diagnosis vital?
The most severe complication of the recurrence of various attacks of RF is that the heart may be damaged permanently, called chronic RHO, requiring surgical intervention to improve the functioning of the heart. The other manifestations of RF like involvement of joints etc., disappear completely even if the disease is recurrent. It may look astonishing to the readers that the joints which became adversely affected as a result of the disease, making the child / adult incapacitated, on recovery, become perfectly normal without any sign of injury left in the joints. But this may not happen so far as the heart is concerned. Each attack of RF may damage the heart, and this damage may be added during each recurrence of the disease. One may say in a lighter vein that the disease only frigthens the joints, but severely beats / damages the heart.

The prevention of RHO lies in the early diagnosis and treatment of acute RF. In the heart, it is the valves that are permanently damaged, as a result of recurrent allergic effects on the valves. Once the patient has been properly diagnosed, further attacks of RF / RHO can be preceded by the prophylactic use of antibiotics for sore throat, and hence saving the heart from permanent damage.

Three Easy Things That A Bodybuilder Must Do To Prevent Heart Disease

Fish Oil is the first powerhouse in keeping the bodybuilder safe from heart disease. Many bodybuilders that use illegal anabolic steroids, but even standard "natural" bodybuilders should consider supplements that will spare them the heart disease associated with higher blood pressure. Anabolic steroids could possibly alter lipid profiles, so it is even more important for people using steroids to maintain safe lipid levels and blood pressure. Fish Oil contains two main ingredients; DHA and EPA. These omega-3 fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) have a multitude of health benefits for the bodybuilder specifically, including increased fat burning and improved sugar metabolism, which are good for obvious reasons. In addition, EPA and DHA decrement the effect of genes involved in fat storage which helps maintain lean mass while bulking. They also down-regulate genes involved in inflammation, which is an important marker of long term health.

In fact I also take a baby aspirin per day to keep the damaging effects of inflammation at bay. EPA / DHA has been shown to reduce the risk of stroke and sudden death along with improving blood lipid profiles by increasing the beneficial HDL cholesterol and slightly reducing the LDL cholesterol. All of these things are great for the bodybuilder who is using steroids / prostroids and important for bodybuilders of any variety that want to maintain maximum health and vitality. Fish oil is a great source for anti-inflammatory prostaglandins and is implicated in the reduction of bowel disorders and cancer of the bowel, which is of importance to anyone who is concerned about health. Colon cancer is a very common form of cancer that affects millions of people. Fish oil causes a reduction in platelet aggregation and stickiness which reduces arterial inflammation is good for everyone, including the bodybuilder, but especially one who takes anabolic steroids or the pro-steroids found on the market (which are stereoids by the way).

Finally, fish oil has been shown to reduce liver tumor metastasis and formation, which is a good thing for people that chronically take anabolic steroids. I take 4-6 fish oil capsules per day in divided doses as a way to increase the positive effects of a healthy diet and keep blood lipids in check.

Magnesium is a very important mineral that is almost lost in our refined and cleaned water supply. This simple mineral has the power to save lives and increase the effectiveness of your creatine supplements and it is cheap and available in safe over the counter supplements! So why are not we taking Magnesium? Low magnesium has been linked to increased risks for sudden death, high blood pressure, type II diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The average American is not even close to the lowest RDA dose of 420mg. Remember the RDA is the ABSOUTE MINIMUM needed to prevent diseases, not the OPTIMAL dose. I take 1000mg of Magnesium Oxide per day as a way to supplement my diet.

Unless you eat a diet VERY high in vegetables, you are probably running on the low side of magnesium. Running low on minerals is like running your car with only 1 quart of oil in it. It may still get you around, but your chances of failure are higher than if you do not run ar optimum fluid levels! With magnesium being so inexpensive, you can not afford to miss this crucible mineral in your supplement plan. (oh, plan on getting a bottle for your mom & dad if you want to help them prevent heart disease and type II diabetes … I have a bottle for mom and dad). Good magnesium intake is associated with improved insulin sensitivity, optimal lipoprotein levels, suppression of abnormal heart rhythms, reduced blood pressure, headache relief, and improved exercise capability. Magnesium can also augment your use of creatine by helping the cells take in more creatine via increased membrane permeability and osmotic factors. Magnesium can also reduce lactic acid in the cells, making it essential prior to a heavy training session if you want to squeeze the most out of each workout. Magnesium is very hard to get in the diet, so do not skimp on the MgO!

Bloodbanks are often low in this country and it is a great idea to give blood, it could help save your life and the lives of many people in need, but is there more benefit to giving blood other than doing the public good? Yes, it seems that giving blood for men could also save your life lessen the effects of the "bodybuilding" lifestyle. Men have a higher incidence of heart disease and congestive heart failure than women and one of the possible causes is the higher blood iron levels found in men. Giving blood at least once a year is a way to reduce these harmful levels of blood iron. Bodybuilders specifically have a tendency to have high blood iron levels due to their consumption of meat products as a way to get increased protein. One of the reason for men's version of multi-vitamins is the difference in need for iron between men and women. You will find many of the men's formulas do not contain iron supplements due to the implications on heart disease.

Men and women with a genetic abnormality that have slightly higher iron levels were found to have over two times as much chance of developing cardiovascular disease. Also, a Finnish study showed that men who give blood at least once a year had an 88% reduced risk of heart attacks. With bodybuilders relying on lean red meat to supply increased protein, the need to give blood is even more fundamental! There is no negative to donating blood and the potential health benefits could be amazing! So, take advantage of your local blood drive to do yourself and your community some good! Tell your friends and family to do themselves a favor and donate blood at least once a year to maintain good heart health! One last positive benefit of giving blood is that you are screened for almost every blood born pathogen which is a positive side benefit!

Hardgainer Chest Workout For Massive Growth – Quick

A hardgainer is a person who metabolizes fast and one who does not easily build muscle mass. Most skinny people are hardgainer’s and more often than not, gaining weight is a problem for them. To develop a hardgainer chest seems like a daunting task. However, there are hardgainer chest workouts that are effective for massive and quick growth.

The chest muscle is one single muscle called the pecs or pectorals. Though a single muscle, the pecs has different regions or areas that need to be “addressed” or worked-out specifically. What are these areas? A hardgainer chest workout must target the upper chest, the outer chest, the inner chest, the bottom chest and the middle chest.

Different strokes for different folks. Meaning, there are a lot of hardgainer chest workouts that you can test for yourself. It is best for you to try out each combination workout and see what works for you as no two people will have the same reaction to a set of workout.

A routine for a hardgainer chest workout is 6 -10 reps (repetitions) of 3 sets of incline dumbbell press, flat dumbbell press, pec-deck machine and incline dumbbell flyes.

Another hardgainer chest workout is doing super sets and drop sets. Super set is when you complete one exercise and then go to complete a related exercise after a set. A drop set is reducing the weight by 20% after the initial set then a reduction of another 30% for the third set done without resting.

A sample workout is doing 10-12 reps of 2 sets of barbell bench press super set with 2 sets of 12-15 incline dumbbell flyes. Follow with dumbbell incline press, 2 sets of 10-12 super set with flat dumbbell flyes of 12-15 reps of 2 sets. Next, do a drop set of pullovers of 10-12. Finish with 2 sets of push-ups.

How to Build Chest Muscle – Blast Through Lifting Plateaus

The absolute test of strength: the Bench Press. The Holy Grail of lifting exercises. Everyone does them, which means everyone reaches a plateau at some point. Here are the 3 moves to get you to new personal bests in the shortest time.

Most people work their chest by doing a combination of full motion flat bench presses and flies, using bars and dumbbells. I do see some people who train incline and decline but, never as much as flat. For maximum mass gains this is exactly the opposite of what you should be doing. Ever notice how people arch the back in the flat bench position when the bar is too heavy, or they are tiring? Why? You are naturally stronger in the decline position, which is what arching the back does. If more weight lifted equals more mass gained and it does, why wouldn’t you focus on the decline, where you are able to lift more?

During the lifting motion you have weak points in the lift. They occur at the bottom and at the half way up spot. If muscle building results from breaking down the muscle and allowing it to regrow stronger, for the majority of the lift your weakest 2 points are only getting minimal work in a full motion press. Doesn’t it make sense that if, by definition, they are your “weak points”, these 2 spots should get the majority of the work?

Here’s the plateau shattering, new personal best achieving workout plan:

Step 1: Find your 1 or 3 rep max in the flat bench.

Step 2: Stop doing flat bench full motion presses for 1 month

Step 3: Every chest workout do the following 3 exercises

Exercise 1: Full Motion Decline Bench Presses. I do 5 pyramided sets of 6 reps with the 4th set being my heaviest weight. You should fail on the 6th rep on the 4th and 5th set.

Exercise 2: Top Half Motion Flat Bench Press. Load the bar with 80% your 1 or 3 rep max. Set the stops at the half way down point (one of your weak spots). Bring the bar down to the stops without touching them and press it back up. Do 5 sets of 6 reps. Drop 5% of the weight off each set.

Exercise 3: Bottom Half Motion Flat Bench Press. Load the bar with 60% of your 1 or 3 rep max. Set the stops at chest level. Start with the weight on the stops. Push up 5 or 6 inches and come back down to the stops. Some people place the weight on the stops between each rep. Or not. Your choice. Do 5 sets of 6 reps, dropping 5% on each set.

If you want to finish with any kind of incline work and or flies, go ahead. It won’t hurt (well, it should hurt, but it won’t harm you!). After a month of this routine call all your buddies around as you set your new personal best on the Holy Grail of Lifting, the Flat Bench Press

Battling With the Cough Symptoms in Chronic Bronchitis

Coughing, most often, is the onset symptom of bronchitis. Being knowledgeable on matters relating to coughing can be most helpful in combating bronchitis especially chronic bronchitis.

A cough is an abrupt, frequently recurring contraction of the "thoracic cavity," which results in an aggressive discharge of air from the lungs that comes with a distinguishing sound.

When the air passes in your body are irritated, a cough takes place to do away with the irritants.

Causes of Cough

There are two reasons why cough occurs – physiological and psychological. The psychological aspect of cough is termed as "habitual coughing." In a medical perspective it is referred to as "steruphilia" wherein an individual loves the sound of coughing or sneezing that is why he practices the said condition. On the other hand, there is also a physiological reason why cough is evident to humanity.

The "vagus nerve" which flows through the lungs into the brain has a major role in the physiological act of coughing. Under this type, the following are broken down into sub-causes:

? Infection – the presence of bacteria, virus from a common cold or fungus triggers humanity to develop a cough.

? External factors – cough is evident when an individual is allergic to irritants such as dust, smoke from cigarettes or belches, pollens and some medicinal drugs.

? Internal factors – as diseases in heart, ear, sinuses especially in the lungs progresses it causes a person to cough.

Types of Cough

1. Dry cough

Dry cough or sometimes termed as non-productive cough is described to be arid, stiff and exasperating. Apart from beingothersome, dry cough gives you a wearing and strenuous time.

2. Chesty coughs

Chesty coughs are commonly known as "productive coughs." The common cause of this type of cough is infection from a virus or bacteria.

Phlegm is being taken away from the respiratory channels so that unwanted mucus and germs can be eradicated in the body. By doing so, your breathing will be normalized.

Effects of Cough in Chronic Bronchitis

There are a lot of consequences if cough is persistent and productive especially if you have chronic bronchitis. When you cough you will experience any of the following:

? There is aggravation in the "anus" which can worsen piles or crevices from within it.

? Headache oftentimes occur with persistent or aggressive coughing.

? Stomach-strain heightens which may lead to "hernia" or "scrotal sac."

? There is increased pressure in your chest. Having so, "air emphysema" may occur.

With the above-mentioned consequences, it is best to know important ways for coughing to be reduced.

1. Medical studies show that smoking is the main culprit for the development of chronic bronchitis. Here, if you are a smoker, it is highly recommended for you to stop smoking. Breathing for you will be easy if you decide to stop smoking. It is not only cough that will be reduced but you will have better lungs as well by putting an end to smoking cigarettes.

2. If you are a non-smoker yet you encounter people around you smoking, it is best to stay away from them because according to some medical findings secondhand smoking is more serious than firsthand smoking.

3. You need to avoid irritants. Some common irritants which can worsen cough are aerosol products, fumes from chemical substances and dust.

4. When there is a high possibility that you will be exposed to irritants, it is a must for you to wear masks so that there is less chance for you to breathe those.

A visit to your physician is recommended for you to recognize the type of cough you have. The physician will also tell you if your cough is associated with chronic bronchitis or a symptom of other illnesses. Moreover, it is he who will tell you the means and ways for you to treat as well as prevent the cough you have. There is no need for you to delay a consultation with your physician. Cliche, as it may be "the sooner … the better."

To some, coughing is but an ordinary illness. However, no one can tell when cough is mild or fatal. When health is being talked about, you need to be extremely concerned about it for life is just but once.

Broken Teeth – How to Fix Them

Teeth are considered to be the hardest part of the body. Bones are also very hard, but we usually hear people suffer from broken bones. Similarly, the teeth are also vulnerable to breaking. What causes broken teeth? And what should you do if this happens?

Broken teeth are usually caused by a trauma. For instance, you get hit while playing sports or you accidently fall down from a leased surface. There is also a possibility of breaking your teeth while eating especially when biting something hard.

Accidents are not the sole cause of broken teeth. Tooth decay is one primary cause of broken teeth. Cavities can be attributed to one's lack of hygiene or hereditary reasons. Some people do not regularly brush their teeth, disregarding the importance of good hygiene. On the other hand, some people tend to be more prone to cavities and tooth decay. Occasionally, this will lead to broken teeth, or worse, teeth loss.

An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Always keep in mind that the teeth are very important. We must always take good care of them. Once you lose a permanent tooth, you can never find a way to grow it back.

First of all, you should never use your teeth for other purposes other than chewing because some people would use their teeth to bite wires and other hard objects. Second, always have protection for your teeth. Remember to wear a mouth guard when playing sports. Lastly, keep a close watch on your hygiene. Brushing your teeth after every meal is as important as eating the meal itself. If possible, gargle regularly since since the germs are not only contained in between your teeth.

Broken teeth are not a cause for panic. However, it is not a trivial matter to be ignored. Fractured teeth usually cause severe or short staining pain especially when exposed to hot or cold temperature. This is because the damage has made it to the nerve. In some cases, fractured teeth do not hurt. That is because only the outer covering of the teeth, the enamel, is damaged. Even though only a small part of the teeth is broken, you must still see your dentist. Typically, the small crack or fraction may lead to larger cracks. The teeth are more vulnerable to breaking if it is already damaged.

If you break your teeth, always keep the lose pieces and clean them well. There is a possibility that your dentist may be able to cement it back to your teeth. Immediately visit your dentist. If not possible, then purchase temporary cement available in most drugstores. Quickly apply the cement to prevent the fraction from getting worse. If there is pain, take pain relievers or apply cold packs to the damaged area.

A Few of the Benefits of Home Cold Sore Remedies

Pharmacy and prescribed treatments for cold sores focus on relieving symptoms and reducing the period of the virus. Simple cold sore remedies found in the home attempt to treat any weakness in the immune system or providing relief from the symptoms. Home remedies treat the whole body so that it is strong enough to fight any illnesses which may attack.

Home remedies are in easy reach when this first signs, tingling or burning, of the disease, are felt. Applying ice to the area can make healing time of blisters shorter and ice can also take away some of the pain. Milk and cool used teabags can have a similar anesthetic effect.

Eating a diet rich in vitamins C, B and zinc or boosting your diet with supplements will make your body more able to fight viruses. Vitamins C, B and zinc strengthen the immune system and aid overall health. With a stronger immune system cold sores are less to attack.

Cold sores can be triggered by stress so finding ways to reduce stress levels in your life can prevent them from erupting. There are many ways to reduce your stress like yoga or meditation. Not only will you eliminate the disease trigger but your general sense of well-being will improve.

Red meat, cheese, eggs, and fish are some of the foods where the amino acid lysine is found. Lysine promotes proteins for building the immune system, supporting the fight against viruses like herpes simplex. Other supplements which not only increase the immune systems strength but help to fight the disease are Echinacea and St John’s Wort.

Topical creams are the most frequently used medicines when treating the disease outbreaks. They can be purchased over the counter at pharmacies. When applied to the site of blisters at regular intervals each day they can reduce the painfulness of the disease blisters. If they are used before the outbreak emerges, they can reduce the healing time or length of outbreaks.

Prescription medication for cold sore treatment should be used after consultation with your doctor. If taken every day they may keep the cold sore virus dormant resulting in limited or no outbreaks. If taken at the first onset of an attack they can lessen its severity and length.

Cold sore remedies which are found in the home or vitamin supplements treat not only the disease itself but also improve your general health. Home remedies aim at preventing viral outbreaks rather than just treating the symptoms by strengthening your immune system. Medicines used to combat the disease tend to treat symptoms and have limited use for your general health.

Number One Reason For Developing an Eating Disorder

Hundreds of people have asked me why someone develops an eating disorder. Of course many issues are involved, but from my exploration of this field over the years, I have concluded that there is one outstanding theme that runs through every person with an eating disorder whom I have encountered. Early in their lives, people with eating disorders have experienced, on a sustained basis, relentless boundary invasion on every level.

When their physical, emotional, psychological, intellectual, sexual, and creative boundaries are consistently ignored and penetrated, people experience total boundary invasion. With no control and no way to end, protest, or, often, even acknowledge such invasions, these persons feel helplessness, despair, and a certainty that they are worthless to themselves or anyone else.

The consequences of such total invasion are vast. One consequence is an eating disorder. Having had so many boundaries disregarded, a person has no knowledge or skills in recognizing or honoring boundaries herself. She will eat or starve for emotional relief.

She may eat vast amounts of food for comfort value alone. She may deprive herself of food until her life is in danger. She has no internal regulator that tells her when she has reached her limit and experienced enough. Being oblivious to any boundaries means being oblivious to limits of any kind.

The compulsive overeater eats whenever and whatever she likes. She bases her choices on self-medication issues, not feelings of physical hunger.

The anorexic will not eat. There is no limit to her not eating. She will starve herself to death in search of relief from her emotional pain. She knows nothing of the experience of having enough. She couldn’t say, “Enough,” to an invader of her boundaries, and she can’t say it to herself. The concept of enough has no meaning to her. She often feels that if she “disappeared,” she might find some permanent relief.

I have heard countless anorexic young women talk ethereally, with a lost-in-a-beautiful-world-of-angels smile, of how wonderful it would be to become a vapor or a light dancing spirit in the clouds. Ah, such spiritual bliss, they imagine. In reality, it’s the final self-protective act, to destroy their bodies and their lives completely. Then they can truly escape the complexities of being alive.

The bulimic will binge grotesque amounts of food. She will assault herself with more food than her body can tolerate. The compulsive overeater will, at last, have to stop eating if only because of the pain in her distended stomach. Her body sets a final limit. The bulimic has no such limit. She experiences (in her mind) no consequences of the food assault on her body. When her body cannot bear more, she will vomit it all out. Then she will resume her binge. She may reach her body’s limits many times. Each time she does, she can throw up again and continue.

Eventually she stops, because she is completely exhausted, or she is in danger of being discovered. “Enough” has no meaning to her. There are no limits and no consequences for her disregard of her boundaries.

Realistically, of course, there are plenty of consequences. Her behavior inflicts serious damage to her body. And each time she attacks herself with a binge-and-purge episode, she destroys more of her spirit, soul, self-esteem, sanity, health, and value to herself and others.

Each violation deepens her ritualistic behavior, and she becomes more entrenched in her disorder. The consequence is increasing anguish and despair. Yet the eating disorder is not the cause of that anguish and despair. The eating disorder exists to numb her from her already existing psychological agonies.

For a while, maybe a few years, the eating disorder successfully blocks her awareness of pain too difficult to bear. But eventually the protective device of the eating disorder becomes just another boundary invader, this time self-induced, that weakens and damages her even more.

What do I mean by a history of boundary violations? Blatant and extreme boundary violations involve sexual molestation, sexual abuse, and physical abuse. Much has been written about these areas now, especially in material exploring Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Use your search engines to find some quality information posted on the Internet in these subject areas.

However, there are other kinds of boundary violations, and these are less dramatic, less discussed, more prevalent, and just as devastating to a persons psyche. When, in the name of caretaking, people in authority take over a young person’s life, it constitutes boundary invasion.

When others deny her privacy, read her diary, borrow or take her things without permission, or use their ideas or goals or personalities to overwhelm her efforts in school or sports, that is a violation of her boundaries.

When others disregard or disdain her choices or deny her any control over her personal life, clothes, food, friends, and activities, they are invading her boundaries.

An invasion of boundaries also takes place when, in the name of caretaking, people give her no responsibilities of her own and attach no consequences to her actions. When the child or adolescent can have all the things she asks for without putting forth effort to earn such gifts, she learns nothing about personal effort, limits, consequences, or the meaning of enough. If she wants something, she gets it. That’s all. If someone picks up her clothes, does her laundry, fixes her car, pays her bills, lends her money or things without expecting them returned, she experiences no boundaries and no limits.

If she doesn’t have to keep her promises, if she doesn’t reciprocate with caring actions for people who care for her, she learns nothing useful about herself in relationship to other people. The only thing she learns with certainty is that there are no limits to her behaviors or desires.

These boundary invasions are not loving acts, nor are they “spoiling” a child through overindulgence. Quite the contrary, they are acts of neglect. The child’s taste, mind, capacity to learn, and ability to grow and function as an independent agent in the world remain unacknowledged.

When others, even well-meaning others, ignore her identity as a unique, developing, and competent individual and flood her with their personal agendas, she feels as if a steamroller had flattened out her psyche. She may learn to please, to manipulate, to compete, or to control, but she is unable to learn to be fully present in the world as her genuine self.

She doesn’t learn that she has meaning and value. She doesn’t learn that she can put that meaning and value within her to work to accomplish goals.

For example, if she breaks something, whether it is a lamp, a car, her word, or someone’s heart, it is possible and healthier to give her the responsibility for making necessary repairs using her own resources and her own creativity. In such a process, she learns what effort means. She learns what responsibility and consequences for actions mean. She learns reasonable limits and reasonable expectations. Shhe develops resources to make healthy and caring decisions in the future.

Without such lessons, she learns are the tricks involved in adapting quickly to the expectations of others or being manipulative to get what she wants. These are poor and insubstantial tools to rely on when building an adult life.

Somewhere inside, over time, she may gradually realize this. But without a sense of boundaries, she will only become bewildered and anxious. She will accelerate her practice of using her eating disorder as a way to numb her feelings of anxiety. She will use her manipulating skills to get what she wants from whomever she can exploit.

As time passes, fewer people in her life will allow themselves to be manipulated. The quality of her circle of associates will decline as she seeks people she can control with her inadequate methods of functioning in the world. She will find herself in bad company. T

This becomes all the more reason to rely on eating disorder behaviors for comfort. The people around her are less reliable all the time. And finally, they tolerate her presence only because they can manipulate her.

She arrives at the total-victim position. Her manipulative skills backfire. People exist in this world who are better at manipulating and using than she. She has found them. She becomes their target and then their prey. Her dependence upon her eating disorder becomes her most valuable and trustworthy relationship.

Early in her development, she learned through massive boundary invasions (which perhaps seemed ordinary and unimportant at the time) that she was helpless to assert herself. She learned that she had no private or sacred space to cherish and respect. She could not acknowledge, even to herself, that she was being thwarted, invaded, controlled, manipulated, and forced to deny large aspects of her natural self. She had no recourse except to comply.

To succeed at being unaware of her natural tastes, curiosities, and inclinations and her pain in restraining her natural tendencies, she developed an eating disorder. Now that she’s older and her manipulation skills are failing her, she only has her eating disorder to rely on. This may be the most crucial time in this person’s life.

If her pain and despair are terrible enough and she is certain she cannot bear this way of living anymore, she still has choices. She can continue to rely on the eating disorder and by so doing take the path to self-destruction. Or she can reach out and get help.

This is a tough position for her. She’s never known what enough was. Yet to choose to get help, she has to recognize that she has had enough pain. She’s never known what a limit is. Yet she has to recognize that she has reached her limit and must choose between death and life. She has only known about pretense and manipulation. Yet she has to be honest to reach out for genuine help.

She feels massive anguish and pain before she stretches beyond her life pattern into what might bring her healing and recovery. She’s reaching for something she can’t imagine. It’s difficult for a person with an eating disorder to decide to get help. She would have to allow herself to trust someone with knowledge of her real personhood.

She doesn’t yet know that people who do respect and honor boundaries actually exist in this world. She doesn’t yet know that there are people who can and will honor and cherish her most private and sacred inner spaces. She doesn’t yet know that someday the trustworthy, respectful, steadfast, and competent caretaker she needs so badly can be herself.

Her first move toward recovery requires all the courage she can muster. Her recovery begins when with fear or rage, she rallies her courage to reach out for help.

Difficult, yes. But what she doesn’t know yet is that she has been courageous all her life. She makes a grand discovery when she learns that she can apply her strength and courage to her own health. She can use her gifts to, at long last, be free of her eating disorder, be her genuine self in the world.
