4 Ideas to Use to Improve Your Dental Practice

Part of running a successful dentistry office is dental practice management. Management is going to cover customer service, marketing, billing, and any other service that is needed to run a successful dental practice. The biggest problem that most dental offices face is managing the business, all they do is focus on is taking care of the patients.

The first thing that you need to remember about dental practice management is that you must follow good business practices. The reason for that is that a dental office is just like any other business office, and if you do not have good business practices, your business is not going to succeed. To ensure that you are following good business practices you will want to make sure you have some specific systems in place before you open your dental practice to patients. The must have systems include appointment setting, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and patient record keeping. Without these systems, your dental practice will not run smoothly.

The next thing that you need to have in place for good dental practice management is a good office manager. Having a good office manager will help you put the systems you need in place, but they can also help your office run smoothly. Even if you have an office manager in place, you as the business owner will need to have a basic understanding of office management. You want to know how to interview and hire people, but how to compute payroll as well.

Another tip that you can follow is your customer service. You will want your office staff, whether it is the receptionist or the dental hygienist, you need to pay attention to how your customers are being treated. You and your staff need to have a great bedside manner, as well as great customer service skills because it can entice patients to come back or stay away. One way to enhance your customer service is to read as many articles as you can on customer service and make improvements as necessary.

The next thing that you should work on is your marketing; this should be one of your bigger goals because it will help determine how successful you are. When working on your dental marketing you will want to think of all of the marketing techniques that your dental practice can successfully use. Some of the more popular ones you can choose from are direct mail marketing in the form of postcards, but you can also take out advertisements in local newspapers or pass out fliers around the neighborhood. Once you have thought of all the marketing techniques that would work for a practice you will want to choose the best ones.

When creating your marketing campaign you might want to consider using a dental practice consultant, but that doesn’t always have to be the case. Just remember that when creating your marketing campaign you will want to include a variety of marketing techniques, including internet marketing to achieve the best results from the marketing campaign. The more people you are able to reach with your marketing campaign the more potential patients your dental practice will have.

Alzheimer’s – A Progressive Disease Of The Brain

Introduction

Alzheimer’s disease (AD), also called Alzheimer disease, and simply known as Alzheimer’s, is a neurodegenerative disease that, in its most common form, is found in people over 65 years old. Alzheimer’s disease has been identified as a protein misfolding disease, or proteopathy, due to the accumulation of abnormally folded A-beta and tau proteins in the brains of AD patients.

Alzheimer’s destroys brain cells, causing problems with memory, thinking and behavior severe enough to affect work, lifelong hobbies or social life. Alzheimer’s disease is the most frequent type of dementia in the elderly and affects almost half of all patients with dementia. Alzheimer’s is a major public health challenge since the median age of the industrialized world’s population is increasing gradually.

Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease

There is a great deal of optimism that early screening and diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease will result in treatments that may reduce some of the risk factors. At the time of a diagnosis, an individual is not necessarily in the early stage of the disease; he or she may have progressed beyond the early stage.

Accordingly; for most of the twentieth century, the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease was reserved for individuals between the ages of 45 and 65 who developed symptoms of dementia. In most people with the disease the increasing impairments in learning and memory will lead to diagnosis, while in a small proportion of them language, executive or visuoconstructional difficulties will be more salient.

However, a definitive diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease as a particular cause of dementia must await microscopic examination of brain tissue; which generally occurs at autopsy and less often with a pre-mortem brain biopsy. Careful neuropsychological testing can reveal mild cognitive difficulties even eight years before a person fullfils clinical criteria of diagnosis.

Symptoms

Symptoms of AD include memory loss, language deterioration, impaired ability to mentally manipulate visual information, poor judgment, confusion, restlessness, and mood swings. But treatments for symptoms, combined with the right services and support, can make life better for the millions of Americans living with Alzheimer’s. 30% of the patients also develop illusionary misidentifications and other delusional symptoms. All these symptoms probably make this stage the most stressful of all for relatives and caretakers, increasing the likelihood of ending home care.

Treatment

Traditional medical treatment may depend on the developmental stage of the disease. Treatment modalities include counseling, psychotherapy (if cognitive functioning is adequate), reminiscent therapy, reality orientation therapy, and behavioral reinforcements as well as cognitive rehabilitation training. Treatment includes relieving the patient’s symptoms and alleviating stress on care givers through support groups and counseling services.

Conclusion

The average course of the disease from the time it is diagnosed to death is about 6 to 8 years. Alzheimer’s disease cannot be definitely diagnosed until after death, when the brain can be closely examined for certain microscopic changes caused by the disease. Alzheimer’s disease has a tremendous impact at any age. With new treatment its more important than ever that you recognize early symptoms and get help as soon as possible.

The treatment's efficiency depends on how you treat your teeth after you are done with it. Other points include brushing the teeth softly and avoiding flossing for a few weeks as it can loosen up the fitting of the element that is placed after the removal of the infected tissue.

Yes, the treatment after all is getting rid of the tooth or the surrounding tissue if necessary because if it stays on the same location, it can also influence the adjunct gums giving birth to more problems. If it has come down to choosing it as a last resort, then you should go for but it is also essential that you do not disobey the guidelines provided by the dentist after the treatment is finished as it can again open up the cavities that have been filled by artificial calcium substances.

Root canal therapy is very expensive and there before you should not choose it until you have enough amount of money that will keep your savings untouched. The treatment is very effective but it is crucial that you do not take a flight beyond the budget line as it will not help you in a great manner. How to Stop Looking at Pornography – Hypnotherapy For Pornography Addiction

If you suspect that you spend too much of your time looking at porn, or that your love of porn has gotten out of control, you may have what is colloquially known as a “pornography addiction.” Help is available, fortunately, Just as with any other kind of addiction, from smoking to alcohol abuse, there are many professionals out there trained to support you. A number of organizations (especially Christian ones) and sexual problem treatments devoted to helping porn addicts have sprung up. What’s more, like most addictions, the excessive consumption of erotic media responds very well to treatment via hypnotherapy and NLP.

How Much Is Too Much?

Of course, pornography addiction is a controversial term. Although the term has been used extensively by anti-porn activists and groups, the condition not listed anywhere in the DSM-IV, the mental illness diagnostic guide used by the psychology profession. In the end, the question of whether or not you are “addicted” to viewing and masturbating to pornographic works is up to you and your significant other(s). Does your use of porn significantly interfere with your life and relationships? Do you appear to regard porn-viewing as higher life priority than family or work (keep in mind that actions speak louder than words hear)? Does looking at porn at all constitute a betrayal of your moral values? Do you, yourself, sometimes wish you could stop wanting to look at porn? Do you find yourself unable to stop, despite your own or your romantic partner’s wishes? If your answer to any of these questions is “yes,” then perhaps you should, indeed, consider seeking pornography addiction help.

How Addictions Work

Addictions generally tend to work the same way. First, a certain activity–such as, presumably, masturbating to porn–will give you pleasure. When the activity ceases, the pleasure will go away. With many “addictive” activities, you’ll feel a strong compulsion to repeat the pleasure. However, with each repetition of the pleasurable activity, the impermanence of the pleasure will cause you greater and greater pain. Alas, that same impermanence will cause you, the addict, to become more and more obsessed with the pleasurable activity. You won’t be able to stand to lose something so valuable as pleasure. In time, the activity, and your obsession, will take over your life. Your pleasure will be long gone, but you will no longer care. If you are a porn addict, then this is your relationship to pornography. Such is the mechanism of addiction.

NLP And Hypnotherapy Offer Effective Pornography Addiction Help

NLP, short for “neuro-linguistic programming,” is an excellent way to cure porn addiction. What NLP does is teach the addict to recognize and isolate the recurring, ever-repetitive thought processes that leads to desire.

Throughout the period that one is addicted, these thought processes remain the same. Yet, addicts rarely recognize these thoughts on their own. Often, they merely follow their compulsions (e.g. “I must watch porn”), heedless of the fleeting sensations that lead up to them (e.g. “I am bored; I am a bad person; porn will stimulate me and take my mind off the fact that I am a bad person”). Or, if the addict does recognizes these recurring thoughts–as he sometimes will during the later stages of his condition–he feels powerless to stop them from leading to their inevitable conclusion.

By contrast, after just a few sessions of combined NLP and hypnosis, addicts can usually learn to, not only recognize harmful thoughts, but to replace them with better ones. That is why NLP and hypnotherapy can stop addictive behavior, and why they’re such powerful sources of pornography addiction help.

Penis Health Benefits of Vitamin E – The Secret to a Smooth Shaft

Sexual health is an important part of a man’s overall health and wellness, and a healthy penis is obviously a key player in this respect. Everyone knows that to keep the body healthy, it is important to work out, eat right, take vitamins, get plenty of rest, avoid smoking, manage stress and limit alcohol intake – but few men take the time to give their penis a little extra TLC. Proper penis health care should be integrated into the daily routine of every man; the use of a penis vitamin creme containing Vitamin E is one way to improve the skin quality and health of the penis.

What are the Health Benefits of Vitamin E?

Vitamin E has many health boosting properties, one of which being its antioxidant function – antioxidants fight free radicals in the body which can cause cancer, as well as signs of premature aging. Vitamin E also reduces cholesterol in the body by stopping cholesterol from being changed to plaque. Plaque is responsible for narrowing the blood vessels and damaging cardiovascular health, which can lead to coronary artery disease. Vitamin E also reduces joint inflammation caused by arthritis, boosts immune functioning, and works with other essential nutrients to regulate hormones in the body. Vitamin E is an especially important nutrient for skin care, as it helps retain moisture, prevents skin dryness and can help protect the skin from UV rays.

What are the Penis Benefits of Vitamin E?

Vitamin E carries with it several penis-specific benefits. Vitamin E can improve the quality and appearance of the penis skin as it penetrates the skin cells, soothing irritation while moisturizing, smoothing and revitalizing the skin on contact. Vitamin E is also beneficial for men suffering from Peyronie’s disease – a condition in which the penis painfully curves due to scar tissue – vitamin E can help improve existing symptoms of Peryonie’s disease and may have preventative properties to keep the penis tissue healthy and straight. It can also prevent shortening of the penis tissue caused by Peyronie’s. Vitamin E increases blood flow throughout the body, all the way to those tiny blood vessels that make up the penis, this speeds healing and helps maintain the health of the penis tissue.

Sources of Vitamin E

There are many food sources that contain Vitamin E. The Food and Nutrition Board at the Institute of Medicine recommend adults intake 15 mg of Vitamin E daily. To ensure the daily dose is met, load up on the following foods:

  • Wheat germ oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil and palm oil
  • Nuts, almonds, hazelnuts
  • Spinach, collard greens, dandelion greens
  • Avocados, asparagus, broccoli, beets, turnips, tomatoes, sweet potatoes pumpkin
  • Mangoes, papayas, kiwi

For individuals who aren’t the biggest fans of fruits and veggies, vitamin E can be found in over the counter daily multivitamins, or as a vitamin E only supplement.

Maintaining Penis Health

While vitamin E can be taken in pill form to reach the recommended daily intake, to achieve the best result for the penis, it should be applied directly to the skin. An all-natural penis vitamin creme (most professional recommend Man 1 Man Oil) containing vitamin E can be gently rubbed on the area to soothe, heal and protect the skin. When choosing a creme, ensure it is intended for use on the genital area, as lotions and cremes which are not formulated for the penis, may cause irritation of the skin. Other key ingredients a penis creme should contain include: shea butter, for moisturizing; Acetyl L Carnitine, for nerve healing; Alpha Lipoic Acid, for cell metabolism; vitamin A, for anti-bacterial properties; vitamin D, for anti-oxidant properties, and vitamin C, for collagen production.

You Got Fired From Your Pain Management Doctor – Tips on Finding and Keeping a New Pain Doctor

Getting fired from your pain doctor may or may not be your fault. What I mean by that is it could be you were out of town and had a car accident necessitating an Emergency Room Visit with narcotics involved. It could be that your medications were stolen by a family member, and you are not the kind of person to get the police involved with the necessary police report per your pain management agreement.

Or it may be completely your fault and you “cheated” by getting pain medications from two separate doctors and got caught. Whichever the reason, now you still have chronic pain and no one to help right?

Here’s some tips for finding and keeping a new pain doctor.

1) Obtain your complete medical records. You are entitled to them, but it may take a bit of legwork and persistence to obtain them since you are leaving on a bad note. You will need these records to make it easy on your new doctor. You will not exactly be in the driver’s seat after being fired.

2) Try and find a pain doctor who works in a comprehensive center. Meaning their surgery center is on-site, and they offer additional services such as chiropractic and PT. The objective is to lower the dosing on your medications so these additional treatments can help.

3) Do not lie to the new doctor when meeting with him or her. You just came off a bad experience, why start immediately on bad footing that is dishonest? With pain management doctors being under a microscope by state medical boards and the DEA, there is minimal patience for someone who lies about their medications.

4) Do not use illicit drugs. I’m not talking about medical marijuana, although that may be a factor in whether or not you would be accepted by a new pain doctor (and also maybe why you got fired in the first place). I’m talking about heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, etc. Understand? Your new pain doctor will be drug testing you as is the norm these days. It would be a waste of your time and the doctor to pop positive for one of these substances on the first visit.

5) If you have insurance, use it. One of the distrust factors in pain patients comes in when they use insurance for one doctor and cash for another. It is a red flag and is one of the top drug seeking behaviors.

6) Be flexible in your pain medication needs. What I mean by this is when you see your new doctor, do not be overly insistent on a specific medication at a specific dose. This can be another red flag for drug seeking behavior. If you are seeing a board certified, fellowship trained pain management doctor, do you really want to question too much the wisdom of that doctor’s experience?

7) The last and most important tip is to simply be very very nice and respectful at all times of the doctor and staff. Pain management patients can be very difficult to work with due to the complexities of the individual’s condition. Making things complex for the doctor is one thing, that’s typically what he or she likes is mental stimulation and helping people. Being downright rude will ruin the trust and relationship from developing. You will get fired again, and that includes being mean and disrespectful of the office staff.

8) Show up for your appointments. Too many missed appointments will cause you to get fired (again). It is disrespectful, especially with no advance warning to the office. Put yourself in their shoes, they are setting aside time to help. Show up for your doctor visits, procedures, and therapy, and get better!

Everything You Need to Know: How to Become an Acupuncturist and/or Oriental Medical Doctor (OMD)

What has brought you to the field of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (OM)? Was it an experience you had? Or, maybe you are researching new alternative medicine. Whatever the answer may be, it is noticeable that the public is becoming more aware of the effectiveness of Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine and other holistic alternative medical practices. The limitations of Western Medicine has led to the awareness of alternative medicine such as OM and Acupuncture. Over 2,500 years old (much older than Western Medicine), Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese or Oriental Medicine (TCM or OCM) continues to gain public acceptance in the United States making it a fast growing professional field.

The journal, “Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine,” reported that more people are trying acupuncture treatment. The National Health Review Survey along with the U.S. Census Bureau reported that there was an increase from 8 million Americans using acupuncture in 2002 to 14 million acupuncture patients in 2007. This is a staggering increase since only two decades ago very few (less than 1%) reported using acupuncture. This is great news for medical practitioners-to-be who are looking to expand their knowledge and the field of medical science. It is also great news for those who Western medicine were unable to treat.

ARE YOU RIGHT FOR THE JOB?

To get a slightly better understanding of how good Acupuncturist or Oriental Medicine Doctor (OMD) are like, let’s take a look at some personal traits that all effective Medical Practitioners have (or have acquired.)

1) Strong Interpersonal skills

2) Genuine interest in bettering humanity

3) Sensitivity to those who are ill

4) Ability to adhere to a medical code of ethics

5) Ability to respect cultural sensitivity

6) Ability to act with professionalism

7) Ability to respect patient confidentiality

8) Ability to counsel, be uplifting, motivating and genuinely caring

9) Honesty in regards to patient health care and health issues

Remember, it’s not about the traits you possess naturally that fully determine who you want to be in the future, but your willingness to acquire those which are necessary to do the job.

1. FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE

If you want to study to become an Acupuncturist or an OMD, but you haven’t experienced Oriental Medical Treatment or Acupuncture, why not try it out! There’s nothing more inspirational (or eye-opening) than first-hand experience. And, you don’t need to be ill to receive acupuncture treatment. Acupuncture can be used to help bring into balance the body’s natural energy flow. After acupuncture treatments, you’ll more likely know if Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is right for you.

2. ONE ON ONE TIME

Take time to sit down and talk with an Acupuncturist or Oriental Medical professional. He/She will more than likely be happy to assist you and answer any questions you may have regarding the field. Here are a few ideas for the types of questions you may want to ask:

1) What is the Philosophy and Conceptual Theory behind the practice?

2) How can an Acupuncturist or Oriental Medical Practitioner help to integrate Eastern Medicine with Western Medicine.

3) Are Oriental Medical Practitioners taken seriously in the United States?

4) How do you find clients and what are some of your marketing strategies?

5) What do you see in regards to the future of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine?

6) Which types of people are most interested in Oriental Medical Treatment?

If you want to be an acupuncturist, you may want to know as much information as possible about the profession. So, don’t be afraid to ask! It is more than likely that an Acupuncturist and/or OMD will be delighted to take the time to speak with you and answer all of your questions.

Also, try speaking with graduates or people attending an Acupuncture school or Oriental Medical Institution. Learn more about the types of things you will be learning and find tips on how to better prepare yourself for the school curriculum.

3. EARN YOUR B.A. DEGREE

Not all, but many Acupuncture and Oriental Medical Colleges require students to first earn a B.A. degree in a field of study. Although, a degree in Biology, Anatomy Physiology, Chemistry or almost any science may be very helpful for the future study of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture, there are many Acupuncturists and Oriental Medical Physicians with undergraduate degrees in Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy and other non-science related degrees. You just want to make sure that your GPA is well over the 2.5 GPA mark. That way, you will be a likely candidate for admittance in almost any Acupuncture or Oriental Medicine School, College or University.

4. PICK A LOCATION

Even with the countless articles written on it’s effectiveness (such as the use of Acupuncture by the United States military), some states still do not acknowledge Acupuncture as a legal form of medical treatment. There are no laws governing acupuncturists in Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, and Alabama. Delaware and Kentucky are the most recent states to finally legalize acupuncture as a profession. To find out if your state recognizes Acupuncture, check out Acufinder.com. Acufinder.com will provide you with information on which states recognize Acupuncture as a legal medical practice. Moreover, it is a good idea to research the Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture market in an area by speaking to Acupuncturists in that area.

5. PICK A SCHOOL

Before picking an Acupuncture/Oriental Medicine school, check to see if it is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (or ACAOM). ACAOM is a private agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education which accredits professional masters degree and professional masters level certificates and diplomas in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. If you go to ACAOM.com website, you can find a list of over 50 accredited Acupuncture Schools and Colleges.

Schools of Oriental Medicine focus not only on Acupuncture but also Chinese Herbal Medicines and Asian Bodywork. The curriculum and amount of hours dedicated to each particular subject will depend on the college’s curriculum. Normally, earning a Masters degree in MSOM in Acupuncture and/or Oriental Medicine will normally take 3 to 4 years. If you want to go for your Doctorates, add approximately 2 more years of schooling. Time well spent if you love helping others.

6. BOARD CERTIFICATION

Once you have completed your schooling, the next step is to pass the National Certification Commision for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (or NCCAOM) exam. to become state certified. The NCCAOM is recognized by a majority of states in the U.S. (except California). In order to become state certified in the state of California, you must pass their own Board Certification exam and requirements.

7. BECOMING AN ACUPUNCTURIST OR ORIENTAL MEDICAL DOCTOR

After you have completed your schooling, obviously, the next step is to begin work. Most new Acupuncturists begin by working with an established practice. This way, you can build a client base and observe how a practice operates before developing your own practice. If you live in a larger metropolitan town, it is typically easier to find a job as an Acupuncturist.

8. CONTINUING EDUCATION

Like many occupations in the field of medicine, Acupuncture and Oriental Medical treatments are constantly evolving and thus, you will need to continue your education even after you have established your practice. Focus on learning new strategies, improving your techniques, getting to know and staying in touch seasoned veterans of the field, teachers as well as those in the forefront of medical science research.

Western Medicine, especially when it comes to treatments regarding general wellness and healthcare, is limited in it’s ability to provide effective treatment. According to the documentary, ESCAPE FIRE. at least 30% of medical treatment is ineffective. Because of this, alternative medicine such as Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine will have a greater influence in the future of medicine.

So, to become a professional in an alternative form of medicine like Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine will not only benefit the communities of the future, but as a healer, practitioner or medical professional you will be part of the medical community blazing a new trail for modern medicine – treating the once untreatable and curing the once uncurable. Good luck to you in your journey towards becoming an Acupuncturist and/or Oriental Medical Doctor.

Before You Buy a Swiss Aviator Watch, Take a Look at Volmax

As a watch collector and amateur horologist, I’ve noticed one watch company flying under the radar, seemingly overlooked in the clutter of brand names. That company is Volmax, a Russian watch company headquartered in Moscow.

If you are thinking about buying a Breitling or Omega or other brand of pilot or aviator watch, I’d suggest taking a look at Volmax, especially if the prices of the big Swiss brands are making you hesitant.

Though you may not have heard of them, Volmax is not exactly new on the scene. The company was formed in 2000 when a group of experienced watch professionals took over the Poljot factory. Poljot was the most recognized and prestigious name in the history of Russian watchmaking. It could be said that Volmax has taken over where Poljot left off. Indeed, the company has a great pedigree.

Volmax watches are not marketed under the “Volmax” name. Instead, the company produces and markets several different lines. My favorite line of watches under the Volmax umbrella is Aviator, a brand strongly tied to Russia’s rich aviation history.

A good example of a watch in this line is the Hughes Aviator. It’s a classic “aviator” watch in the generic sense of the word. The watch was developed with a marketing tie-in to the movie “The Aviator”, the story of eccentric aviation pioneer Howard Hughes, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio.

The quality of Volmax watches is good and their performance compares favorably to many Swiss aviator-style chronographs — even though some models cost only one-third of the price.

Most Volmax watches are based on the Poljot 3133 chronograph movement, which has been produced since 1975. It’s a reliable, hand-wound movement that serves as the heart of the watch. Other models are equipped with Swiss ETA 2671 and ETA 7750 movements.

Cases for Aviator watches are made of stainless steel. You see, true pilot watches cannot be made of gold or other soft metals.

Another Volmax watch that might interest Omega buyers is the Shturmanskie. The name is a mouthfull, but did you know that the first man in space, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, wore a a Shturmanskie on the cuff of his space-suit during that historic flight?

Before You Rollover Your 401k Into an IRA, Consider Tax Rule 7702

The conventional wisdom when you leave a job is to find a IRA advisor and rollover your 401k to continue the tax deferral benefits of an IRS qualified retirement plan, but more and more Americans are taking the time (and considerable effort) to set up a new IRS approved Private Plan retirement account under tax rule 7702. Properly structured there is no other retirement program like a 7702 Private Plan.

Properly structuring a 7702 Private Plan is not for the faint of heart, the first and most important step is finding a qualified and experienced advisor. A 7702 Private Plan pays about 80% less commissions over a 10 year period than the average IRA account so most financial and retirement advisors won’t even tell you about this plan because it will mean a big pay cut, and even fewer advisors have the skills or know how to set one up properly in the first place.

Comparing a 7702 Private Plan to other traditional IRS Qualified retirement programs apples to apples is quite difficult for most people without the understanding of what you are getting out of your Private Plan. The first hurdle is to understand that contributions to a 7702 Private Plan are taxed similar to a ROTH IRA, so at first glance it may seem that you are losing a lot of money by making this type of a rollover and paying all the deferred taxes. Unlike traditional IRA, 401k and other plans, income from a 7702 Private Plan is tax free and is not counted as income to calculate Social Security taxes.

Most Americans will simply pay a much larger tax bill at retirement in terms of actual dollars paid by deferring taxes in a traditional qualified plan than if they were to just bite the bullet and pay the taxes now. One noted author on the subject who wrote the book “Last Chance Retirement” asked the question “what would you rather pay taxes on, the seed or the harvest?” The other hidden tax trap in most traditional IRS Qualified Plans is how the income from these plans increases the taxes on Social Security benefits. As a rule income from traditional retirement plans will count towards the taxation formula on your Social Security income, and tax your Social Security benefits up to 85%! Not only are you paying much more taxes in total dollars with a traditional tax deferred retirement account, the income you receive is increasing the taxes you will have to pay on your Social Security income.

With only a few exceptions, 100% of the income from a 7702 Private Plan is tax free, and unlike income from traditional retirement plans, 7702 Private Plan income is not considered when determining the taxes you will have to pay on your Social Security benefits. Over a 20 year retirement period this can account for a significant amount of money.

Risk is another factor to consider. Recently we have seen tremendous losses in the stock market which has erased trillions of dollars in market value and reduced millions of American’s retirement accounts, some with losses exceeding 50%. Properly structured, a 7702 Private Plan will earn returns based on a widely recognized stock market index. If the market index (let’s use the S&P 500 as an example) goes up 10% in a year, then your account is credited 10% interest for that year. But if the market loses 10% during that same time, your principle balance and any credited interest in a 7702 Private Plan is safe, the account is simply credited 0% interest for that year (some 7702 Plan Administrators even give you the option to choose a declared fixed interest rate each year on the plan anniversary date, this is a useful option if you think the market is going to perform less than the declared rate for that year, when the market index begins to show life again you simply change crediting methods to earn the market based returns, either way in a properly structured 7702 Private Plan you can never lose your principle or credited interest due to market losses) Once again there isn’t nearly as much commission in a 7702 Private Plan compared to most traditional IRS Qualified plans, so don’t be surprised that your advisor hasn’t told you about this heads you win, tails you don’t lose investment strategy. For more information about the no market risk index strategy available in a 7702 Private Plan click to view this graph.

There are additional ‘living’ benefits that can only be found in a 7702 Private Plan. State and Federal Law requires that a 7702 Private plan be administered by an insurance company licensed to do business in your State. This is because Congress mandates that a minimum Funding Guarantee Benefit be included in every 7702 Private Plan to qualify under IRC 7702. This means that if you were to pass away prematurely, your surviving spouse would receive a tax free payment of approximately what you would have saved had you lived and continually contributed to your Private Plan until retirement. Several Private Plan administrators are now offering 7702 Private Plan accounts that include a Flexible Guaranteed Funding Benefit where if you experience certain medical events in your life the entire benefit is available while you are alive.

Moving into retirement the Flexible Guaranteed Funding Benefit in some 7702 Private Plans will even allow for access due to Long Term Care needs. One company makes 2% of the entire Flexible Guaranteed Funding Benefit available if you are diagnosed as being unable to perform 2 of the 6 activities of daily living. This benefit in a 7702 Private Plan is nearly identical to having a built in Long Term Care insurance policy at no extra charge. For example, if the Flexible Guaranteed Funding Benefit is $450,000, then 2% per month would equal tax free payments of up to $9,000 for long term care needs. If you haven’t priced long term care insurance recently then you are in for a shock, this stuff is expensive but it is built into several 7702 Private Plan retirement accounts currently offered by approved 7702 Private Plan administrators at no charge.

For most people setting up a properly structured 7702 Private Plan is actually very easy once you locate an advisor who knows how to structure it correctly. You do have to qualify for the Guaranteed Funding Benefit with a physical exam just like any life insurance application, and there are IRS rules on rolling the funds into the account, but once you have set up a 7702 Private Plan it will be there to grow your retirement savings based on market gains but without market risk and will keep your family safe from other financial hazards for your entire life.

No other retirement plan offers benefits like a 7702 Private Plan and no other traditional plan gives you the upside potential of the market without any of the associated market risk. On May 16th of 2008 the S&P 500 closed at 1425.35, today (1-27-2008) the S&P 500 index closed at 845.71, if your retirement account was in a 7702 Private Plan you would still have all of your original investment plus any credited interest the account had received. Then on Jan 27th 2010 say the market closes at 930.28, while everyone else is still at severe losses your 7702 Private Plan account would be credited 10% interest on the entire original balance plus any previously credited interest.

The downside protection with upside market potential and a host of ‘living’ benefits in a properly structured 7702 Private Plan is worth the effort to find a honest advisor who is willing to help you create and administer a 7702 Private Plan for life.

New Energy Medicine and Cancer

Einstein, a genius scientist of the 20th century, and central to the new energy physics, stated that ‘a problem cannot be solved by the same mind set that created it’. Cancer is a case in point. Cancer is a dis-ease that stems partly from the products of the mechanistic, anthropomorphic and exploitative philosophy at the heart of our culture, which we tend to ignore. Its effective treatment demands that we see ourselves in a different way and act accordingly.

Medicine is extremely slow to move from a mechanistic and physical philosophy to a more energetic model, like the Gaian paradigm that values all life forms as connected. A philosophy of medicine that is over-reliant on logic and limited mainly to drugs and surgery is fundamental flawed. Acts of logic always rely on analysis, that is breaking down a ‘whole’ into its constituent parts, and examining each minutely. Reductionist approaches fail to see the connectivity and relatedness of all things. As a result this philosophy is offering us ‘cures’ to cancer that are often as dangerous and destructive as the disease itself.

Nobel prize-winner Carlo Rubbia maintains that only a billionth of the world is actually made of matter and the rest is made of energy. The new sciences are challenging the way we perceive the world and as a result the way we relate to our bodies. Dr. K. Scott-Mumby is author of Virtual Medicine and an allergy specialist in the UK writes:

“Science is proving that we exist as regulated and informed energy. Disease can now be redefined as a disruption, cessation or distortion in the information and energy fields. Its time for medical practitioners to join the party”.

Classical science has reached the end of what it can explain in reductionist terms. Issues such as whether light is a particle or a wave, or whether or not water has a memory (an issue central to the ‘proof’ of homeopathy), are moving modern science to a quantum level that deals with fields of energy. Medical science is still stuck in a very physical universe, where the objective is to ‘excise the lump’ almost regardless of where it came from and individual conditions of the patient and their experiences.

New sciences such as the chaos theories point a way forward into handling the complexities of whole systems that work together, in synergy. Unfortunately our medical systems and practises are still too often based on philosophy formulated in medieval times.

Because all interventions in a medical process have to been ‘proven’ as workable (using scientific double-blind testing methods) before doctors will recognise their validity (if they then do the research), medical science mostly marginalises or ignores healing alternatives that can provide only ‘anecdotal evidence’. Multiple simultaneous treatments of different types and ‘levels’ tuned for one patient are un-testable by a reductionist philosophy and therefore ignored by mainstream medicine. In addition to this regulatory pressures force researchers and companies to test their drugs on patients with advanced cancer – when the dis-ease is much more difficult to treat and when the chances of success are modest – this means that potentially useful treatments are discarded as worthless.

Traditional research methodology, or ‘quantitative research’ is central to science and other methodologies are not usually acceptable. ‘Qualitative research’ is equally, if not more important at the present time in reference to cancer. Other medical systems, such as Chinese or Ayurvedic medicine, Homeopathy or Naturopathy use far subtler tools in both diagnosis and treatment. They are based on seeing the patient as a whole being and often use multiple interventions on several levels, simultaneously in the treatment of dis-ease. Because they work at the level of an individual patient, and from a different philosophy of medicine, it is almost impossible to analyse them with the tools of reductionist science.

Our present rash of immune attacking diseases calls for a different kind of response than just drugs and surgery. A new medicine that combines established scientific excellence with traditional, alternative and natural treatments is needed. One that recognises humans as feeling, vibrant, energetic, spiritual beings as well as physical and mental. There are dramatic developments in the treatment of cancer using energy systems, but information on this is actually suppressed. There is a movement towards an integrated medicine as more orthodox practitioners are starting to join in, led mostly by their patients.

From an energy point of view, when the human body is weak or unbalanced it oscillates at different frequencies than when it is healthy. This less harmonious frequency shows a state of cellular, energetic imbalance in the body. The physical body that is weakened in this way often needs help to shift to the needed frequency, which strengthens the immune system.

Some experienced medical doctors can make an intuitive diagnosis based on experience and can sometimes tell in a second or so what ails their patient. Posture, skin condition, nail, teeth and tongue all give clues, but experienced doctors may also intuitively pick up clues about their patients from energy and vibrational levels in a similar way to a gardener tending plants or a wild animal hunting its prey.

But modern doctors simply do not have the time for the level of attention given in many complementary and alternative therapies. This is one of the reasons alternatives are more popular than ever. Professional detachment is an essential part of the doctors’ repertoire and it protects them in part from the huge amount of need they encounter in day to day work.

Given the track record of orthodox medical science into whole person medicine, it may well be another 200 years or so before it is able to assimilate the new quantum sciences in relation to the human body. For those people with cancer now, there are a deliberately limited range of options available from orthodox medicine.

Advantages of 3 Wheel Mobility Scooters Over 4 Wheel Mobility Scooters

When you start looking for a scooter, you’ll probably notice that there are more 4 wheel mobility scooters than there are 3 wheel mobility scooters available. Still, there are some pretty significant reasons to choose a 3 wheeled scooter. There are a lot of features that both types of scooter share. But the 3 wheel scooter tops the 4 wheeler in several areas.

There are three major benefits to a three wheeled scooter. In basic terms, three wheeled scooters are more efficient than four wheeled scooters. They are also much more convenient to use and they just have a nicer appearance than four wheeled mobility scooters.

Let’s have a more in depth look at each of these benefits.

Three wheeled mobility scooters use advances in technology to allow for more fluid turns. Though the four wheeled type easily navigate wide sweeping turns, sharp turns are next to impossible. In fact to make a sharp turn, the driver has to go back and forth in the scooter until finally finishing the turn. This can be frustrating for many people.

The three wheeled mobility aid really shines when it comes to turning. With its single wheel in the front, the sharpest of turns are effortlessly completed. There is just no comparison to the difficulty a four wheel vehicle has in making sharp turns. Without a doubt, this one feature alone makes the 3 wheeled scooter a lot easier to use and lots more fun on top of that.

There is no doubt that four wheel mobility scooters do supply more stability, but not every user needs extra stability. For many people, a mobility scooter provides a handy way to get from point a, to point b.

The biggest reason for having a power operated vehicle in the first place is to allow for more freedom of movement by its user. The 3 wheel scooter does that. With its design and smaller size overall, it is easy to maneuver.

For many, appearance is an important issue. And why shouldn’t it be? When you choose a car, appearance certainly plays some part in your decision making. Some cars appeal to us more than others. When choosing a scooter why shouldn’t the same criteria apply? You will be pleased with the streamlined appearance and aerodynamic design available in a 3 wheeled scooter.

When the time comes to choose a scooter, think carefully about the benefits that 3 wheel mobility scooters offer. Unless your travels take you places where you need a more stable scooter, you can probably opt for a three wheeled scooter and be quite satisfied with your choice.

Copper – Dietary Sources, Health Benefit and Deficiency

Copper is the third most richly trace trace mineral in the human body – transported in the bloodstream on a plasma protein called ceruloplasmin. The liver and brain contain the largest amounts of copper in the human body, with smaller amounts in other organs

Copper is an essential component of the natural pigment, melanin that gives color to the skin, hair, and eyes. It is needed to make an enzyme that restricts arteries from hardening and possible rupturing,

It is believed that zinc and copper contend for amalgamation in the digestive tract, so that a diet that is rich in any one mineral will result in a deficiency of the other – so be

Benefits of copper –

– Copper plays a vital role in the body's formation of strong, flexible connective tissue, and in the proper cross-linking of collagen and elastin. Elastin helps to promote normal cardiovascular.

– Numerous enzyme reactions require copper.

– Copper helps in the efficiency utilization of iron and protein; and assists with normal digestion.

– It is involved in the production of collagen – the protein responsible for the structural formation of bone, cartilage, skin, and tendon.

– Copper is a component of the enzyme copper-zinc dismutase and the protein ceruloplasmin that help inhibit free radical formation.

– Copper is a strong antioxidant and works together with an antioxidant enzyme, superoxide dismutase to protect cell membranes form being destroyed by free radicals.

– Copper is needed to make adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the fuel to run the body.

– Copper's anti-inflammatory action help in reducing arthritis symptoms.

– If the body does not get a sufficient amount of copper, the production of haemoglobin, is decreed.

– Copper also promotes the maintenance of good skin health and contributions to healthy respiration and general strength.

– Copper can also contribute to healthy and normal cholesterol levels.

– Helps formation and maintenance of strong bone mass.

– Excellent for the immune system.

– Copper is a common treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis – because it helps promote healthy collagen in the body.

Dietary sources of copper include –

Copper is usually found in foods containing iron.
Copper is found in various foods, including organ meats, seafood, wheatgerm, green vegetables, prunes, beans, peas, lentils, potatoes, sweet potatoes, turnip nuts (specifically walnuts, peanuts, and cashews), pumpkin, sunflower and sesame seeds. Breads and cereals made from whole grains and barley are also good copper sources.

Additional copper can come from drinking water from copper pipes and use of copper cookware.
The body is able to store this mineral for later use. Because of this, it is not necessary to rely on a daily diet intake.

Recommended daily allowance for copper –

The average dietary intake of copper should be approximately 1.0 to 1.1 mg / day for adult women and 1.2 to 1.6 mg / day for adult men. For lactating women, it is around 1.3 mg / day.
Copper deficiency symptoms include –

Deficiency of copper in humans is rare but it does occur under certain circumstances. When the body does experience a copper deficiency, there is usually a corresponding deficiency of iron. That is why anemia is one of the symptoms. Severe anorexia or starvation, and serious kidney problems, which again are very rare may all contribute towards a copper deficiency. Lack of copper may also lead to osteoporosis.

Symptoms of possible copper deficiency include:

– Anaemia,

– Low body temperature

– Bone fractures and osteoporosis, especially among women.

– Prominently dilated veins

– Low white blood cell count

– Irregular heartbeat

– High cholesterol levels

– Increased susceptibility to infections

– Defects at birth – inherited copper deficiency (Menkes' syndrome) occurs in male infusions who have inherited the mutant X-linked gene. This has an incidence of about 1 in 50,000 live births. Children with Menkes' syndrome are unable to absorb copper normally and become severely deficient without provided proper medical treatment early in life.

– Loss of pigment from the skin, hair.

– Thyroid disorders.

– Long-term use of oral contraceptives can offset the balance of copper in the body.

– Hair problems, including hair fall.

– Dry skin.

Who are at risk of copper deficiency?

Infants and children fed only on cow's milk formula are at high risk, as cow's milk is relatively low in copper. High-risk individuals include premature infants, low-birth weight infants, infants with prolonged diarrohea, and infants with mal-absorption syndrome.

Individuals with cystic fibrosis are also at increased risk of copper deficiency.

If one regularly use antacids, the need for copper may be higher than others, as these can interfere with the body's ability to absorb copper.
