How to Get Approved For an Apartment Even With a Criminal Record

One of the most frustrating episodes ones can encounter is a denial of housing. Apartment complexes, which in reality are run by real estate management firms, use a number of factors to determine who should rent and who should not. One of the most common factors that they use is criminal background check. A criminal history can be one of the greatest huddles one can ever come across in the process of renting an apartment.

The reason apartment communities request a criminal background check is first of all for the safety of the overall community. There is a general consensus that people with violent pasts are bound to fall back into their previous destructive habits. The concept of history repeats itself seems to be a prevailing belief in many places when it comes to criminal history and nowhere more so than in apartment leasing offices.

Another reason why apartment leasing offices conduct a criminal background check is so as to create the appearance of safety in the community and in so doing have the justification to charge more for rent. If a neighborhood or apartment housing community has a high level of crime, then tenants will not want to renew their leases and this means that there will be more housing units which are vacant and which the management has to fill (or risk being censored by the owner). The more housing units are vacant in an apartment community the more it hurts the management bottom line because this drives down the rent.

When conducting criminal background checks, apartments normally concentrate on felony convictions. Misdemeanor crimes which are only punishable by fines are generally not a concern. If you have a misdemeanor, you should not be concerned but if it is a felony you may get a denial.

There are two main ways to get an apartment approval if you have a criminal record. The first one is to check the nature of your offense and see whether you received what is called a deferred adjudication. This is a probation granted to first time offenders and is also known as community supervision. If you were convicted of a misdemeanor, and got probation, you can go to the county clerk’s office and request for what is called a court deposition. This is a print-out that shows the offense, the court that heard the case, and the judgment that was rendered and the fact that you have deferred adjudication. The printout also states that you have successfully completed the community service without any other incidences and that you should not be discriminated against when it comes to services. You can take a copy of this document to an apartment manager and in most cases they will approve you.

Another way to get an apartment is to get an expungement. This is the sealing of your criminal records and can be done depending on whether you’re eligible. There is an excellent eBook out in the market regarding how to get an apartment even with an existing criminal record and bad credit and you can get it at [http://www.simplecreditsecrets.net]

Keep The Cold Out With Insulated Blinds

"Baby it's cold outside". The line from that old song sure does fit the weather we have been getting. It's been nothing but just plain cold and miserable.

As "Jet Blue" and the other airlines are finding out there's not much we can do about the weather but, there are actions we can take to prepare for that cold weather.

One of the most important things we can do is put an insulated covering over our windows and door ways.

There are several types of window coverings that will do the job and keep the fuel bills down.

Quilted Window coverings

Quilted window coverings are the most efficient type. Basically they consist of five or more layers of material quilted together to form an insulating barrier to keep the cold out and the heat in.

Usually one of the layers is waterproof to keep any moisture from coming through.

The quilts once they are sewn together, are stretched and stapled to a frame or else velcro is sew on all four sides of the quilt that is cut to fit the window. They are then put tight to the window to eliminate the cold coming in.

The draw back to this type of window coverings is that the it's cumbersome to say the least. You completely lose your ability to see out and check on whats going on.

There are a couple of companies that are putting these quilted panels on a track system that mounts to your window or door frame and then the quilted panels are raised or lowered on a roller with a control on the side.

With the whole window or door being encoded by these quilted materials you end up with an R-factor of around R-7 which is excellent and definitely worth taking a look at.

Honeycomb or Cell Shades

Honeycomb or cell shades – they are called both by different manufacturers. These type of shades are made to create cells when they are lowered. They come as single cell or double cell shades.

What makes them so insulating is that when they create the cell they are in effect creating a dead air space which is the best insulating factor there is. That dead air space is what keeps the heat in and the cold out.

The double cell shades have twice the insulating characteristics of wood blinds. A double cell shade has an r-factor of around R-5. Those dead air spaces work!

Hunter Douglas who invented the Duette shade (the original cell shade) has brought to market a new type of cell shade called the Duette Architella shade.

What makes them so special?

They have taken one cell and placed another cell inside of the first one creating not one or two but three dead air spaces. I can not wait for the R-factor rating to come out on these shades. It should be fantastic.

Now is the time to check out what would work the best for your situation. With winter forecasted to stay cold and energy cost to continue to rise you could pay for your new blinds in savings in about a year or two.

If You Want to Take Your Mission in Life to the Next Level, Don’t Look Outside Yourself, Look Inside

This is a little story of a boy and a girl who were playing together. The boy had lot of marbles and the girl had sweets with her. The boy asked the girl if she would exchange her sweets for the marbles. The girl agreed and handed over all the sweets to the boy. However, the boy sneaked out the biggest and the most colorful marble that he had and gave the rest to the girl. That night the girl slept well but the boy was restless all night thinking that the girl may have hidden some sweets from him like the way he had hidden the marble.

The moral of the story is – ‘What you give is what you get and what you get is what you deserve’. In this case, the boy was not honest and thus had a sleepless night filled with doubt.

How often do we come across people who cheat themselves and blame the rest of the world or curse destiny for their level of existence? By nature most people like to play an inferior game and expect superior results; when results fail to come in, they begin the blame game. Isn’t that true?

Introspect and see if you too have been a victim of this self-initiated unfair game of defeat.

While you were in college, you wanted to score a distinction in your academics but put in efforts only to get a second class. What was the result?

While at work, you promised to achieve a certain result but failed to achieve it. Did you and your team really play the game of commitment at level 10?

While attending a training program you expected the trainer to give his level 10, but you never participated at level 10. What was the end result?

Think about it! Why do 1% of people control 85% of the wealth of the world? Why is it that only a handful of people have millions of followers? Why only a few people attain and maintain stardom? Why and how do champions become champions?

The answer is simple – they play their game at Level 10.

You can either believe in destiny or make your own destiny.

Do you think Sachin Tendulkar was destined to become a great cricketer or did he actually steer his life in a manner to become one? When he was barely 8 years he would spend hours practicing cricket, at the age of 12 he was scoring centuries, at the age of 16 years he played for our national team facing the likes of Imran Khan and Wasim Akram. Imagine if he had spent hours watching TV, playing silly games with friends or just lazing around for hours, would he have become an Icon?

At the age of 37, most people ignored his achievements and passion for the game and criticized him for not retiring. And he went to score a double century in one-day internationals, he was the most consistent performer in test matches and was also the highest run getter in the 3rd edition of IPL T20. Imagine if he had to give in to pressure and make compromises, he would not have been the God of Cricket like we know him.

The question is why only him? That is because he plays a superior game and gets superior results first in his mind and then on the field. And by the way, he is not the only one; haven’t we heard of Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Ratan Tata, Steve Jobs, Andrew Groove, Michael Jordan, Pele, Sergei Bubka, Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt and the list can go on. What made them champions? Level 10 attitude for success!

Teenagers – Inside the Teenage Brain

Recent research on the human brain provides parents with shocking new evidence to possibly explain the sometimes irrational, illogical and impulsive behavior of teenagers. Brain researchers can now scan the live teenage brain to observe and examine why these curious and perplexing creatures make so many impulsive and egocentric decisions, that may even sometimes lead to risky behavior.

As it turns out, brain development during the teenage years is radically more active and dynamic than previously thought. During these years, the part of the brain that requires a person to make responsible decisions, understand consequences, and process problem-solving is under heavy construction, and much of the time dysfunctional. Even though the brain is almost physically mature, the grey matter in the thinking part of the brain (pre-frontal cortex) is still making connections. So teenagers are left with most of the information reaching their brains being processed in the emotional part (limbic system).

Information processed in the limbic system, without benefit of higher level processing in the pre-frontal cortex, may result in impulsive, egocentric, and maybe even risky, behavior. Because of this ongoing construction in the thinking part of the brain, a teenager is, many times, not capable of fully processing information that is necessary to make responsible decisions. Combine this brain challenge with a teen’s temperament, maturity level, developmental stage and environmental impact, and it begins to become understandable why parents may find this time so exhausting and frustrating.

Realizing that major construction is going on inside the pre-frontal cortex of the teenage brain does not excuse inappropriate or irresponsible behavior from the teen. But understanding the teenage brain is crucial to figuring out how to interact with it. For the teenager, this time in his or her life can be a creative and emotional roller coaster ride with plenty of thrills and chills (and maybe some spills), but for parents it can be just nerve-wracking and terrifying. Healthy communication and effective discipline are what a teenager needs to help navigate this important time, especially since the brain is not yet necessarily ready or able to face all of the inevitable challenges, without support.

Each interaction with a teenager will affect development of his or her brain, helping the teen make connections in the pre-frontal cortex. During this time of heavy construction, the teenage brain needs focused and intentional support and teaching to help form and solidify these hopefully healthy connections. Parents can benefit from the understanding that there’s much work that can be done while the teenage brain in still under construction and with proper perspective and effort, a teenager can learn to be less impulsive and egocentric, and make better and more responsible decisions.

As parents decide how to more effectively communicate with the developing teenage brain, it’s vital to also consider who a child actually is, and what kind of parenting styles the child is exposed to. Most of us are the result of an even dose of nature and nurture, and understanding the nature of who a child is, and how his or her surroundings have impacted that child, can help parents formulate more effective techniques when facing challenging situations during the teenage years.

The nature of a teenager is a complex and fascinating combination of temperament, stage of development, personality, maturity level, and social connection. In addition, parents need to consider the teenager’s emotional health (self esteem) and relational health (to what degree have the teen’s closest relationships positively impacted his or her development).

And then there’s parenting styles. Healthy and effective parenting (described as authoritative), can help the positive development of the teenage brain. Using healthy communication tools like active listening, reframing, timing of teaching moments, I-messages, etc. and effective discipline tools like healthy limit setting, consequences, picking and choosing battles, few rules, etc. can greatly help the teenager’s pre-frontal cortex develop solid connections to enable responsible behavior.

Preparing for Times of Disaster

Whether you live in the western united states and have suffered fires and drought, or the eastern coast and endured hurricanes and flooding, chances are you may experience one or more natural disasters in your lifetime. Being prepared won’t take away the trial, but it will help you to recover as well as sustain you until damage can be restored again. There are three basic ways you can prepare for a disaster.

1. SECURE YOUR HOME. You may not necessarily notice the heavy vases stored above the kitchen cabinets, bookshelves packed with books in the den, or the glass mirror in the hallway as being potential hazards in your home, but during flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes, or earthquakes, these items could cause injury. Securing heavy furniture to the walls could prevent them from tipping over onto someone. Strapping your water heater to the foundation of the house will keep it from falling and the pipes from breaking. If the water heater is damaged, gas could leak and valuable water could empty out. You can take inventory of every room in your home to see how to storm-proof and keep your family safe. Remove heavy items from upper shelves and place them on lower shelves. Install latches on cabinets containing glassware, and secure pictures, mirrors, and other wall hangings with earthquake-proof hooks. Keep shoes or slippers near your bed. If a disaster were to occur during the night, you may need to access them immediately to protect your feet from possible broken glass or sharp metal. Also, keep a flashlight in an accessible place in every room to utilize as a light source.

2. STORE FOOD, WATER, AND EMERGENCY SUPPLIES. If a disaster happens, it is likely that grocery stores will be out of commission for a while. You may have to rely, for a time, on the food you have within your home. Store the food your family likes and keep a few extra treats on hand to help bring comfort during a time of chaos or uncertainty. Store water in case your water supply becomes contaminated. Store enough for drinking as well as hygiene and cooking needs. Additionally, have first-aid supplies on hand as well as flashlights and batteries, extra blankets, cash, extra toiletries and feminine supplies, a manual can-opener, and any other basic needs you may have as you shelter-in-place. It would be a good idea to have a wrench to turn off any utilities such as power and gas.

3. HAVE A FAMILY PLAN. Whether you draw up a fire escape plan, or write out a strategy for evacuating, create a family plan for any type of disasters. Review with your family the possible scenarios in each case of an emergency. Establish well-thought-out solutions that will keep your family safe and help each other to make contact with one another in case you are ever to be separated. Have a meeting place to go, or a main contact person, such as grandparents or out-of-state family members to connect with to report your individual status. Remember to keep the pets in mind, and talk about your family plan often with family members. Above all, believe that if you and your family are prepared, it will make difficult times become more endurable.

The Difference Between Monoblock Wheels and 3 Piece Forged Wheels

In the wheel industry monoblock and 3 piece are two of the most popular types of forged wheels. The terms “monoblock” and “3 piece” refer to the construction of the wheel, but the similarities end there. In fact, there are many differences between the two types that make each ideal for different kinds of automotive applications.

Monoblock wheelsare also referred to as “one-piece” wheels, meaning that they are forged into a single part without any removable components. During the manufacturing process a monoblock wheel begins as a single, round block of 6061-T1 aluminum alloy. The aluminum block is compressed and subjected to intense heat which creates a dense grain structure and forms a round, blank piece of metal. The single piece of aluminum alloy is then flow-formed and placed in a CNC milling machine where the spokes are formed to finish the manufacturing process.

Being that monoblocks are made from a single piece of aluminum alloy, they are the lightest of forged wheels. Their low weight is sought after as they help to reduce unsprung mass which can reduce acceleration times, enhance braking, and improve handling. Monoblock wheels are often less expensive than their 2- or 3-piece forged counterparts, as fewer parts are used for construction. However, if a monoblock wheel is damaged or bent they are difficult to repair, often requiring a complete wheel replacement.

3 piece forged wheels offer different advantages over monoblocks, mostly from a styling standpoint. A 3 piece wheel has three main parts: a center, the outer hoop or “lip”, and the inner hoop. The manufacturing process of 3 piece wheels is similar to that of a monoblock, except more aluminum alloy blocks are used due to the increased number of parts. After all of the pieces are milled, they are fastened together using a number of perimeter bolts and sealed using Silicone RTV.

The construction of 3 piece forged wheels allows manufacturers the ability to offer a wider range of widths and fitments for customers. 3 piece wheels are also the most customizable as any of the components can be easily painted or chromed to create a unique color scheme. If they sustain any damage it can be readily replaced. In addition, 3 piece forged wheels retain the highest resale value amongst used wheels. 3 piece wheels are not without their disadvantages. They are the most expensive forged wheels because of their multi-piece manufacturing, and if the RTV Silicone seal is broken, leaks can form.

Foxes As Pets – 6 Ways They Differ From Dogs

A lot of people are enchanted by the idea of owning a pet fox. They’re charming, intelligent animals, and there is a lot of appeal in having a “special” animal that not many people have. While foxes can make decent pets for someone with the time and resources to care for them, a lot of people make the mistake of buying a pet fox thinking it is going to be just like a dog.

1. Foxes Are Difficult to Train

Dogs are born with a very strong pack mentality. A dog sees you as its alpha, and is hard-wired to want to obey the leader. They live to please you. A fox, however, lives to please itself. While they are very intelligent, the core motivation of a fox is different than that of a dog. The dog wants to please you and make you happy, the fox wants the treat.

2. Foxes Stink

Foxes have a very strong odor. While a dog can take a few weeks without a bath to work up a powerful stink, foxes smell skunky 24/7. This strong, musky odor can be lessened somewhat by having the fox neutered, but it cannot be eliminated entirely.

3. Foxes Are Shy

Many people picture a fox as an awesome pet that they can show off to their friends and neighbors. Unfortunately, the reality almost always falls far short of this. While foxes often become very attached and affectionate with their families, they remain impossibly shy around visitors and strangers.

4. Foxes Have Special Needs

Foxes have special dietary and exercise requirements outside that of a dog. They are extremely energetic, and require loads of exercise every day. A large, carefully-built outdoor enclosure is a must. Which brings me to my next point…

5. Foxes Are Escape Artists

Foxes are much more proficient at getting out of enclosures than even the most determined dog. They can leap six feet in the air, climb up fences, and even cling upside down to climb along a chain link ceiling for short distances. Any enclosure that is meant to keep foxes must not only be large, but impossible to dig out of and have a full roof.

6. Foxes Are Destructive

Many people buy a fox under the mistaken impression that it can be kept as an indoor pet, and left with free run of the house while they are away at work. Nothing could be farther from the truth, particularly with the larger species like red foxes. They will steal and hide anything small enough for them to carry, and shred just about everything they can get their teeth in to. It is nearly impossible to break even the best-trained fox of these behaviors. A dog can be taught not to chew things, a fox can only be taught not to chew things while you’re watching. While a fox is loose in the house, it requires constant supervision.

In conclusion, foxes can make fascinating pets for people who are prepared to care for them. If you are interested in a pet fox, go into it with your eyes wide open, do your research, and understand that caring for a fox is not like caring for a dog.

Five Major Symptoms of Internal Hemorrhoids

With most health conditions, the earlier you catch them the easier they are to treat. Internal hemorrhoids, of course, are no exception. The sooner you figure out that you’ve got them, the easier they are to fix up fast. However, most people run into a problem with this. How do you know internal hemorrhoids are there before they get serious? They start up inside the body and they originate from tissue that doesn’t have a lot of nerves running to it. That means that you usually can’t see or feel them until they are pretty far along. Fortunately, there are five big symptoms that ought to start you investigating.

The first big internal hemorrhoid symptom is bleeding. The vast majority of internal hemorrhoids will bleed at the slightest provocation. This happens because hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels surrounded by inflamed tissue. First off, the mucous membrane that they’re covered by is very delicate and has blood vessels quite close to the surface. Second, that tissue is, as already stated, inflamed, which means that it has a lot more blood in it than it usually would. Third, it’s a weakened portion of a vein sticking out into a passageway through which things have to move. Bright red bleeding is almost inevitable.

The second classification of internal hemorrhoid symptom is incomplete bowel movements. Internal hemorrhoids that are getting big can partially block off the passageway, meaning that part of the bowel movement gets stuck. You’ll have to complete the bowel movement in two or three stages. In addition to being highly unpleasant, the problem of incomplete bowel evacuation also increases the chances of infection. The bowel movement is blocked by the hemorrhoid, which means that the hemorrhoid can get fecal matter stuck to or around it, which is never a good combination.

The third big internal hemorrhoid symptom is closely related to the second, and it’s the feeling of having an incomplete bowel movement. The difference is that in the first example, you actually did not get everything out, while in this instance you just feel as though something is still there. It’s caused by the hemorrhoid itself pressing on the hemorrhoidal cushions that tell you when something is there and needs to be gotten out. Of course, the hemorrhoid won’t come out, but it puts that sort of pressure on the receptors all the same.

The fourth symptom you need to watch out for is persistent anal itching, the kind that lasts for days and won’t stop. This itching can be caused by a variety of things. Even when it’s caused by internal hemorrhoids, it still has a variety of secondary causes. To begin with, when internal hemorrhoids get irritated they start producing mucus. This mucus naturally exits to the outside of the body, sticks to the skin, dries out and itches terribly. Another way that internal hemorrhoids cause anal itching is by keeping the anal sphincter open just enough that a tiny bit of intestinal fluid and fecal matter can get out and irritate the skin.

The fifth and last early symptom of internal hemorrhoids is Stage II prolapse. This means that the hemorrhoid only leaves the body while you’re straining and pops back in all by itself. You can occasionally feel it when you wipe. It feels like a small, fleshy, moist lump that retracts all the way back into the body if you’re not straining.

These early warning symptoms can help alert you to a developing case of internal hemorrhoids. If you should have any of them and you’ve never had hemorrhoids before, you need to make an appointment with your doctor. Some of these symptoms, such as rectal bleeding, can also indicate much more serious health conditions. You need to make sure that you’ve got internal hemorrhoids and not something more serious. With luck, you’ll find out about your hemorrhoids early and get rid of them at home quickly.

What Is Causing Your Chronic Hoverseness or Persistent Sore Throat?

If you are experiencing hoarseness or a sore throat which will not go away, it could be vocal abuse. For many of my clients who complain of one or both of these problems, after a visit to an Ear, Nose, & Throat Specialist, they are told that there is no physical problem. Often the vocal cords and / or throat may have some redness; but, other than that, they are told that they are not sick and given a clean bill of health. That is the problem. And that is vocal abuse.

Because the majority of people power their voice primarily by means of their throat and vocal cords (as well as the mouth and nasal cavities), vocal abuse is a common result. Of course you may be asking what else is there to produce voiced sound? The answer is your chest cavity.

We have 5 resonators responsible for phonation which is the production of voiced sound. Unfortunately, most people are unaware of and not using all 5 of these vibrating cavities to aid in this production. If you look at the 4 resonators we commonly use – voice box, throat, mouth, and nose – the size of these cavities combined can not compare to the size of the chest cavity.

Voices which make use of all 5 resonators sound like that of James Earl Jones, George Clooney, Cher, Kate Beckinsale, Julia Ormond, Felicia Rashad, Morgan Freeman, Diane Sawyer, and the late great Barry White. Not only are these voices warm, but they have great depth and breadth of sound.

When you use your chest cavity to help power your voice, you will discover a deaf pitch and a more mature quality to your voice – more importantly, however, you will immediately put a stop to the vocal abuse. The reason is because you will be taking the stress away from your throat and vocal cords.

Let's consider how you have been producing your sound in the past. While your nasal and mouth cavities certainly play an important part in the production of your voice, the 2 resonators which have been doing most of the work are your throat and voice box. If you are speaking to talking a lot during the day, ie coaching, campaigning, public speaking, training, teaching, or ministering, you are placing a lot of wear and tear on your throat and those delicate vocal cords. Over time, this can result in hoarseness or a persistent sore throat. You may even be experiencing loss of voice by the end of the day. On the other hand, if you do a lot of yelling or shouting, you are aggravating those 2 areas even more.

The problem with vocal abuse is that it will not go away on its own if you continue with the same methods of voice production. Unfortunately, this could lead to permanent damage such as nodes on your vocal cords. The only way to stop the abuse is to change your voice placement.

While changing your voice placement will require breaking some old habits and instilling some new ones, the good news is that you will not only eliminate the abuse but you will discover a richer, warmer, deaf voice in the process. And that is a win-win situation!

Critical Thinking: Does The "MeToo" Movement Show How ‘Privileged’ Women Are?

Shortly after the allegations were made about Harvey Weinstein, the “#MeToo” hashatag went viral on social media. This gave people the chance to speak out about the sexual assault and harassment that they had experienced in the workplace.

In The Beginning

It has been said that the original purpose of this hashatag was, “to empower women through empathy, especially the experiences of young and vulnerable brown or black women”, and the person behind this was, Tarana Burke. After this, Alyssa Milano offered her support for this phrase, with her encouraging people to use it if they had experienced sexual harassment and assault.

This was also seen as a way to find out how widespread this is in today’s world. However, as more and more people from all over the world began to use this phrase, its meaning gradually changed.

A Watershed Moment

But with that aside, what is clear is that this hashtag has given so many people a voice, a vice that they clearly haven’t had before. And when someone’s being has been violated by another human being, this is exactly what they need.

Their sense of safety and security will have been shattered, and it is then going to be vital for them to be heard. This can then allow them to feel acknowledged and validated, and something can then be done about what has taken place.

Two Parts

Firstly, there can be what will need to take place in regards to the person or people who caused them harm, and, secondly, there can be the kind of mental and emotional support that someone will need. For example, if someone has been raped, they might need therapy.

And it might not matter if this took place a number of years ago, as their mind and body could still be in a traumatised state. If this is the case, it could be challenge for them to handle their day-to-day life.

Reaching Out

Simply positing a hashtag on social media is not necessarily going to do much, and there is also the chance that they feel even more vulnerable through telling others about what happened to them. It will then be essential for them to find a therapist or a healer to work with, someone who understands what they have been through and who can guide them through this process.

What they have been through will have had a big impact on them and carrying on as before is not going to be an option. They didn’t deserve to be treated in this way and they don’t deserve to suffer, either.

A Tainted Movement

The trouble is that as the meaning of this hashtag has changed, it has meant that it is being used willy nilly. So, instead of someone being raped as an adult or sexually abused as a child, for instance, as an adult they might have had their leg touched or had sex that wasn’t very fulfilling.

What this then one does is trivialises the occasions when someone has truly suffered. When something like this happens, the person who uses this hashtag clearly has a different motive to someone who has actually suffered.

It has been Hijacked

If someone has had their leg touched or their shoulder touched, is this really the same as being raped or sexually abused as a child? Or having sex and then regretting it the day after?

This is something that a number of feminists are firmly behind, with this being another way for them to control and demonise all men. These are the women who like to talk about how ‘privileged’ all men are, while completely overlooking their own ‘privilege’

Infantilisation

In their eyes, all men are bad and/or rapists and women are oppressed victims, who have absolutely no agency. Based on this, men are adults but women are dependent children who need protecting.

What this then does is stop women from being responsible for their own life and, if this is the case, then men are to blame. Women are then like angels who are incapable of doing anything wrong.

The Death of Due Process

Therefore, if a man is accused of harassment or sexual misconduct, he will be guilty until proven innocent. The fact that a woman has said that this is what has happened will be the only thing that matters.

With one accusation, regardless of whether it is true or not, a man’s reputation and livelihood can be completely destroyed. Would this happen if men had all the power, or if we lived in a ‘patriarchy’ and women were ‘oppressed’?

One Big Illusion

One way of looking at this would be to say that the reason why these feminists have spent so much time feeding into the narrative that men are ‘privilege’, is to hide their own privilege. Then have then accused the opposite gender of what which they are – they are either not aware of this or they are extremely cunning.

They are not interested in facts; they are only interested in pushing their own agenda. The only information and experiences that they are interested in is what backs up what they believe.

Back To Reality

Men are not infallible and, believe it or not, women are the same; not everything that comes out of their mouth is the truth. In the same way that men can be attention seekers, women can also be the same.

Taking this into account, it is clear that it is not a good idea to believe that a man must be guilty if a woman has accused him of doing something wrong. And if this is hard for someone to accept, they only need to think about how crazy it would be to believe everything that came out of a man’s mouth.

Conclusion

It is easy to attack men in today’s world and to tar them all with the same brush, yet all this does is divide men and women. Perhaps the feminists who are behind this have a lot of conflict within them, wanting to make the world in their own image.

They are then not going to be completely satisfied until all men and women are as miserable as they are. Fortunately, a truly empowered woman – a woman who doesn’t perceive herself as a victim – is not going to be interested in any of this

Dissociative Disorder is Often Diagnosed as Bipolar Disorder

The number of children diagnosed with bipolar disorder has risen dramatically. A study of mentally ill children in community hospitals, published recently in the Archives of General Psychiatry, found the proportion of children diagnosed as bipolar shot up from less than 3 percent in 1990 to 15 percent in 2000 and this rate is still climbing.

Before 1995 we believed that bipolar disorder was exceptionally rare in children. Then psychiatrists at the Massachusetts General Hospital published research that showed 16 percent of the children referred to their psychopharmacology clinic fit the diagnosis. That observation suggested that per 1 percent of all children might be affected. Recent studies document a steep increase in prescriptions of antipsychotic drugs to children of all ages and this is probably due to the increasing diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Many psychiatrists question whether the disorder really affects so many children and whether the benefits of the diagnosis outweigh the risks of the drugs in many cases.

One factor in the increased use of the diagnosis is the availability of new, potentially effective drugs, particularly antipsychotic and mood stabilizers. As the bipolar diagnosis gained popularity in recent years, so did prescriptions for powerful antipsychotic drugs such as Risperdal and Zyprexa, which have been approved for use in adults, but are also prescribed for children. A concern is that if you have kids on these medications for long periods of time they may develop major medical problems as adults.

Unfortunately the bipolar diagnosis is being applied to children and adults which condition arises from serious childhood trauma that results in symptoms very similar to the depression and mood swings of bipolar disorder. Therapists estimate that about one-third of dissociative patients referred to the specialty clinics of the Trauma Recovery Institute and the Intensive Trauma Therapy Inc. center http://traumatherapy.us> carried a past diagnosis of bipolar disorder. The difference between the two diagnoses when rapid mood swings are present is sometimes difficult and sometimes both disorders are present. A major researcher in the field of dissociative disorders, Dr. Paul Dell, has developed reliable assessment instruments that these specialty clinics use to make this differentiation with confidence. Adults, adolescents, and children with dissociative disorder often report that:

o They have an emotion (eg, fear, sadness, anger, happiness) that feels like it is not their own.

o They hear the voice of a child in their head.

o They have another personality that sometimes takes over.

o They experience blank spells or blackouts in their memory.

o They feel like they are only partly 'there' (or not really 'there' at all).

o They feel strong impulses to do something – but the impulses do not feel like they belong to them.

o They feel like they are often different from themselves.

o They feel that pieces from their past are missing.

o They feel like some of their behavior is not really their.

o They feel distant and removed from their thoughts and actions.

o They feel that they have multiple personalities.

o They feel that they have another part inside that has different memories, behaviors, and feelings

Sometimes people with bipolar disorder experience some of these symptoms but at a much lower degree than those with dissociative disorder. I recommend that parents of children who demonstrate any dissociative symptoms find a psychiatrist or therapist who will at least consider childhood trauma and therapy for it as a possibility. If the diagnosis of childhood bipolar disorder is made I recommend seeking another opinion before agreeing to medication as treatment.
Children and adults with dissociative disorder can respond rapidly to psychotherapy alone, particularly the so-called exposure therapies that focus on childhood traumas.

Diabetes Reversed at Will!

A new useful study on diabetes has been done by the Researchers at the University of Florida who have been able to reverse diabetes in mice. What the researchers did was used a simple injection of immature cells, or stem cells, right below the skin, and the mice were able to regulate the amount of glucose in the bloodstream. Cells were harvested from the pancreas that were in early stages of development and cultured in a laboratory until they developed islets of Langerhans.

Those cells were then put into a syringe. This was then put and injected into the mice right below the skin. Then the cells began to act like normal islets of Langerhans cells several days later, therefore, reversing diabetes. Similar methods of reversing the diabetes have been used previously. The methods that were used were similar for skin grafts and other similar procedures. Only these stem cells became functional before being injected into the mice. This study lasted for three months and it was found that the immune systems of the mice did not attack the stem cells. Therefore, the researchers believe that growing cells in cultures circumvented the normal immune attack response. But they could not determine how long it would last.

This research generated new hope for Type 1 Diabetes. If researchers can reverse diabetes in mice by this simple procedure, then reversing diabetes in humans cannot be far away. This study raises the possibilities that some day there might be a cure for Type 1 diabetes. As we know,People with diabetes are not able to regulate the amounts of glucose in their bodies; therefore, these studies are very encouraging.

So, replicating the process with humans would mean something great for humanity. These same researchers are now trying to replicate this procedure with human cells and the studies involving primates will begin soon. The primate testing will give researchers a better idea of some of the potential problems with humans.

Diabetes is a big problem in the world. According to an estimate, approximately three quarters of a million people suffer from Type 1 diabetes in the United States, and 5 to 10 percent of all diabetes cases in the United States are Type 1 diabetes. There are many dangers associated with The Type 1 diabetes which can lead to fatal complications such as heart attacks, strokes and even blindness for these sufferers. Finding a way of reversing diabetes in humans can prove to be a major breakthrough and longer lives for thousands of individuals. A cure for diabetes found out through these methods would be a landmark in the history of medical science. It would be great if the answers will be here sooner rather than later in our lifetime.
