What Is a Penis Plug?

Until a few years ago, I had never heard of a penis plug. You want me to put What,Where? The thought of putting a piece of stainless steel in my penis hole was horrifying. Stuff is supposed to come out of my penis, not go in! But after a few weeks of my wife’s coaxing, I finally gave in. And I’m glad I did.

Let’s go back to the original question, What is a Penis Plug? A penis plug is a piece of stainless steel that is inserted into the urethral opening for sexual play and stimulation. I need to express right now that, although some men have tried experimenting with objects that you find around the house, it is Very unsafe to use household items. You will also find web sites out there selling plugs made of things like glass or beads, but there is too much danger of breakage. Please only use penis plugs made from stainless steel. Penis plugs are a form af sexual exploration for both men and women. Men are the largest group using plugs, but women are getting into the act, too. Some woman purchase these as a sexual aid for their male partners, but plugs can also be used by women. Women usually require a smaller shorter plug.

Urethral insertables come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some are known as Urethral Sounds, which are straight or slightly curved pieces of steel used to unblock obstructions of the urethra or to increase the size of the urethra. Another type of urethral insertable is the Prince’s Wand. These require a piercing on the underside of the penis. The prince’s wand is inserted into the urethra, then a threaded pin is inserted into the piercing and screwed into the wand. A ball on the wand can be unscrewed for elimination of fluids.

The most popular form of urethral insertable is the Penis Plug. A penis plug does not require piercing and has the largest variety of models. There are solid plugs that are used mainly for urethral play. Your first thought is that it is going to hurt, but quite the contrary. The feeling is very difficult to explain and I’m sure it’s different for every man, but the best way to explain it would be that it is like having an orgasm from the inside out. When using a plug for the first time, always clean your plug and use a good water based lube. Then relax. If you tighten up because you think it will hurt, you will never get it inserted.

Penis plugs can also come with a through-hole, which has a hole through the middle of the shaft. These through-hole models are designed for extended wear and for elimination of bodily fluids. A Glans ring attachment is available to help hold the plug for extended wear. Penis plugs come in a variety of lengths and diameters, so there is one for every penis size. You can get plugs that have a smooth shaft, or plugs that have a variety of lumps and bumps, each giving you a different sensation when inserted. There are also plugs that have a hoop on the end to give it that pierced look, without the pain of being pierced. In the last few years there has been the addition of vibrators to the tops of the plug for an additional thrill. Some men also find it stimulating to attach there plug to a tens unit for a bit of a shock.

Now you know what a penis plug is, so man up and give it a shot.

Priming Your Body For 4 Inches of Penis Growth – Natural Enlargement Methods Explained

The real secret of successful penis enlargement is that you don’t need any silly devices or dangerous chemicals. Your body contains everything you need to make growth happen naturally and rapidly at any age. I tried so many different enlargement products before I discovered natural methods which enabled me to add more than four inches to my penis. This article explains the secret truths about enlargement which the scammers don’t want you to know.

Why artificial products will let you down

Pills, creams, pumps, extenders… a hundred different gimmicks, but they all have something in common – they completely ignore your body. This is why they all fail. If you want to make your penis bigger permanently, what you have to do is begin from the inside and work outwards. What this means in practice is that you have to prime your body so that it’s in the right condition for penis growth to happen.

How to prime your body

There is one thing which your body requires before it can make your penis grow, and that is fuel. There is a special fuel, made up of biochemicals, which drives the whole growth system from within. During puberty, your body made these chemicals naturally, but after puberty, you lose this vital fuel, and that means that growth stops. Trying to enlarge your manhood without giving your body this fuel is the equivalent of trying to drive a car with an empty gas tank – completely futile! But if you fill your body with this fuel, growth will begin again naturally – just like it did when you were going through puberty.

Fuelling your body for growth

You can fill your body with the fuel it needs by sticking to a good natural enlargement program. I followed a program like this and ultimately I achieved a penis over 8 inches long. These natural methods will truly deliver the results you want and that’s why I have no hesitation in recommending them.

How To Win Back A Leo Girl

A relationship with a Leo girl will be a passionate affair, full of love, intensity and warmth. The lioness wears her heart on her sleeve and all too often will be easily hurt. A wounded lioness will be a challenge to any mortal, but fortunately, her huge heart is a forgiving one. To win back a Leo girl, tread very carefully and you may get her back.

When it comes to relationships, Leo’s are probably the most loyal of all the star signs, and will stick with you through thick and thin. The Leo female will place trust and loyalty above all else, and will give her all in love, but make no mistake, she will expect the same in return.

Love is supposed to be selfless, but with a Leo, if they don’t feel, or more importantly, see, like they are getting the same as they are putting in, they will feel hurt and under appreciated. The Leo girl needs to know that you care, she needs to be told and shown that her efforts are not in vain.

Getting your Leo girl back is going to be tough, as Leo is a fixed sign and therefore as stubborn as they come. The best way to get back in favor with your ex girl is to show her how much you care. The Leo girl will measure your affections by the effort and time that you put in to the task. She will expect you to go through hell and high water to show how much you care and how much she means to you. As a general rule, Leo’s love gifts of any kind, and a tasteful gift symbolising your love will get her attention. Leo’s have lavish tastes, so avoid anything trashy.

Job Interview Dress Code for a Rainy Day

What to wear to a job interview can be a complicated decision. You want to make a great first impression at the interview and you have painstakingly planned what to wear. Problem is, mother nature didn’t get the memo that your perfect job interview outfit did not take into consideration a rainy day.

So what do you do?

Well, you still want to show up dressed for a job interview, looking sharp and ready for success. Even though the interviewers may not remember what you are wearing, they should remember that your appearance was polished and professional. In the job interview, you will be evaluated on what you are wearing as much as what you are saying.

Here is a quick “job interview clothes” guide for a rainy day:

Clothes – The default job interview dress code is conservative or business attire. Wear a pant suit or dress pants on a rainy day. You will protect your legs from getting wet and it won’t be as noticeable. Stick to darker neutral colors like navy and black because you will still look sharp even if you get a little wet. I usually recommend a dress shirt or blouse in white or a light pastel color like pink, blue and green. But for a rainy day, I recommend staying away from white because you will end up with a see-through shirt if you do get soaked.

Shoes – You should never wear open shoes or sandals to an interview and a rainy day is no exception. Wear conservative pumps and make sure you select a pair of heels that isn’t too high since you will be navigating through wet and slippery terrain. Trust me, there will be puddles everywhere and your goal will be to do everything possible not to trip and fall in the parking lot, at the entrance of the building or in the lobby.

Accessories – If it’s raining, your best accessories will be a nice umbrella and matching raincoat. It’s hard to look professional when you are holding a multicolored umbrella with polka dots and wearing a bright red raincoat. Stick to dark neutral colors like black and navy to match your job interview outfit.

Hair – Your job interview hairstyle is the first to go on a rainy day and the hardest to put back together when you have left the house. Pick a simple hairstyle that is easy to fix in the event that it’s also a windy day. It can make or break your entire look. Again, you want it to be polished, not messy and out of place when you arrive. Choose to pull your hair back in a ponytail instead letting it hang loose if you can.

Purse – You’ll have plenty to hold already with an umbrella and raincoat in your hands so keep your purse or handbag small. Stick to a leather bag or briefcase since it wipes dry easily and carries off a professional look regardless of the weather.

Your attire for job interviews even on a rainy day only needs a couple of adjustments to work. Sounds pretty simple right?

Bodybuilding: Groundless Theories That Can Hamper Your Chest Growth

I wonder how many of you reading this have used alternating dumbell curls for your biceps. If so, let me ask you this: Have you ever asked yourself why do you them? Think about it; you never perform alternating repetitions for most other exercises. When was the last time you did an alternating leg press, alternating leg extensions, or alternating overhead triceps extensions? Probably never. Yet it's common to see people copying what they see others do in performing alternating biceps curls. And since they're resting each arm while lifting the weight in the opposing arm, they're essentially doing a rest / pause between each repetition when performing curls in this manner.

One day in the gym, I asked a guy why he does alternating dumbell curls for his biceps. I pointed out that there are not any other muscle groups that get this alternating rest / pause treatment. What benefit was each of his biceps getting from resting as much as five seconds between repetitions? He just scratched his head and looked at the floor. "I do not know …" he said, smiling. "I've never really thought about it"

And this brings up my point. I'm not here to tell people they're wrong in doing alternate dumbell curls. I'm here to express that they might be cutting themselves short in life when they go through it "never really thinking about it". We tend to do even less thinking when we perceive the people we're emulating (like the BIG alternating dumbell curl guy) to be experts.

Here's something to ponder that's a bit more consequential than if you alter your dumbell curls. Do you subscribe to the bodybuilding theory that says you need to focus mostly on compound movements to build size? You know the story: to build a big chest, your routine needs to consist of mostly bench pressing – for bigger legs, you'd better do a lot of squats. I've heard this over and over again. But is it really true? I've gained my best pectoral size after putting bench pressing routines on the back burner in favor of flyes. And I'm not the only one; I first became motivated to do it when I read an article many years ago in which bodybuilding legend Scott Wilson said his chest only grew when he dumped the excess bench pressing.

Think about it: Why would compound movements be better than isolation one's for building your body? Muscle growth occurs when you advance to moving higher volumes of weight than you previously could. If that happens while doing flat dumbell flyes for your chest, your pecs will get bigger … period. Equally, if you train your chest with bench pressing in a haphazard manner that leads to over-training, your chest will not get any bigger even though you opt for bench pressing over flyes. It's that simple.

Consider this: let's say for argument's sake that your pectoral muscles will move one third of the load when you're bench pressing. This sounds reasonable since the deltoids and triceps are heavily called upon when performing upper body pressing movements. If you can eke out ten repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench, you've moved a total volume of 2,225 pounds but your pecs might have been called upon for a third of that work; about 742 pounds.

It's safe to bet that a person who can do ten good reps with 225 on the bench can also perform ten strict repetitions of flat bench dumbell flyes with 50 pound dumbbells. However, those strict reps of dumbell flyes would place a significantly larger volume demand directly on the pectorals within the same time allotment required by the bench pressing. The two fifty pound dumbells are a hundred pounds on the whole chest, times ten equals a thousand. That's a thousand pounds of volume (thirty-five percent more than the bench pressing) placed almost exclusively on the pec muscles.

Even if you can only use forty pound dumbells for the flyes, you'll still beat the bench press for volume load on the pecs (800 lbs vs. 742 lbs). This assures that your pectorals are indeed taking exactly one-third of the stress during bench pressing. It could have been more than that or it could have been a bit less; it depends much on the genetically-determined structure of your upper body.

What's in a Hormone Spike?

Many compound movement advocates site the theory that the body releases more anabolic hormones when performing big movements like squats and bench presses. To this assertion, I can pose three very good questions:

1. How much additional testosterone can bench press produce over isolation movements? (except it's huge amounts, it's not going to matter)

2. Does this increase represent higher average levels of the hormone during recovery, or is it only a spike during and directly after a workout? (do not buy the "two-hour window" theory)

3. All other things considered – does it really matter?

Here's an even better question: If one guy does his bench press in a wimpy manner and another guy does his flyes like his life depends on it – who gets the best testosterone spike?

Another question: Since sexual activity also spikes testosterone levels, does the heavy flye user who has sex after his workout produce more testosterone than the bench presser who does not?

I think you get my point. Natural testosterone ebbs and flows in everyone (women too). It's really the levels we average during our entire recuperation period between workouts that matters. And how much does that matter? If you average a few nanograms per decileter more than I do, I'll probably just take one more day off between workouts and make just as much muscular gain as you.

Form Matters on Flye Movements

To build your chest with flyes, good form is absolutely essential. All too often, I see people performing movements that resemble a sort of hybrid between flyes and dumbell presses. These are about the most useless things you can do for your pecs. Your elbows do need to be slowly bent during flyes to prevent hyper-extending them. However, pivoting at the elbows instead of the shoulders is just a sneaky way of deferring or avoiding discomfort.

Let's face it, doing heavy flyes in a strict and disciplined manner is painful. When reliably heavy dumbells are lowered with outstretched arms until they're horizontal and even with your head on the bench, there's a searing kind of stress through the chest region. When you squeeze the muscles as you carefully arc the dumbells upward and back together, the pain and positive effect from working the pecs so directly is only intensified. This is a good indication that you're doing them correctly.

Conclusion

I currently do only one compound movement during my chest workout and the rest of it consist of flyes and pec-deck exercises. What's more, I do my bench pressing movement late in the workout so that my pectorals have become somewhat pre-exhausted. This has all led to far greater pectoral growth compared to the days when I did set after set of flat and incline bench pressing.

If you're having trouble with pectoral growth, I suggest you try a flye and pec-deck dominated workout routine. Let go of the erroneous belief that these are "shaping exercises". Consider this: Ray "Thunder" Stern, a bodybuilder from the distant past, had some of the best pectoral muscles I've ever seen when he was at his peak. It was said by some of his friends that he could perform incline dumbell flyes with a pair of 120-pound dumbells. That's incredible.

Impressive flye movements will produce an impressive chest.

January Jumble

“JANUARY,

The first month of the year,

A perfect time to start all over again,

Changing energies and deserting old moods,

New beginnings, new attitudes”

Charmaine J Forde

It is officially a brand-new year and for me that means staring at the long road ahead of me and wondering how in the world will I get organized and more purposeful this year? The best way for me to get into that scary but exciting head space is to remember that there is nothing better than taking stock of my have’s and giving to those that have not. On the surface I took care of some of those things during the holiday season and quite frankly I do it throughout the year but there is just something so refreshing and rejuvenating and renewing about a clean sweep that begins at the start of a new year.

This year I came up with my “top 5” list for each month of the year. I’m not a fan of tackling too much in a short amount of time. My reason is simple, everything I will get my hands on needs the dedication, time and care to be handled and thought about thoughtfully and lovingly and, I’ll be honest, everything has a memory attached to it and I want to allow for that impromptu trip down memory lane. I know myself well enough that the trip down memory lane will eat up time and a small top 5 list will very likely take at least a week or two to get through depending where my trip takes me. I give myself the whole month to get completely through my list because the other thing I know for sure is that one action, one thought, one intention will absolutely lead to another and before I know it I have a second top five list and maybe even a third. It all depends on what comes up along the way and how I my creativity blossoms.

This year my focus for January is all about organizing, sorting and storing my holiday decorations, gifts, cards and winter gear. Here is how my thought process formed…

My daughter has adopted the task of being the household decorator of all things holiday throughout the year but especially the end of year holidays when things get very crazy busy and the we go from one celebration to the next. Boxes are stacked neatly in a corner for easy access and the decorations change almost daily if she happened to go to the store to buy something new (ugh).

Once the holiday is over I am ready to clean up but she isn’t so I start thinking about how I will tackle the clean-up once I get the all clear permission from her. It’s just too sad of a chore for her to participate in the clean-up so I gladly do my share and take that task on by myself. During the clean-up I make lists of what we will need for the following year in the event that something broke or got squished beyond recognition or if I saw something that was too beautiful to pass up next time. I then create new ways to pack all the decorations so that I don’t have too many boxes going back into the attic. It’s challenging and fun to put that puzzle together.

So, when I thought about putting away the decorations this year I also realized that some of the holiday gifts were still piled up in a corner and so I considered that once the decorations were all set and in their place until next year what will I do with all the gifts that need to be gone through and put away? I am an absolute supporter of donating whether it be food, time, clothing, or services so I knew right away that opening the donation station at home was going to take more than a few hours of my time. I would need everyone’s help with making those decisions.

Are you ready for the list? Here we go:

Set up a recycling and donation station that is accessible for all hands to contribute to at any time either for this specific project or set up for deposits throughout the year.

Organize, label and put away holiday decorations and wrap those decorations safely and carefully for easy access next year.

Break up empty gift boxes and card board boxes and wrap them tightly together for recycling. I have a few rolls of colored vinyl tape in the garage so I use that as my wrapping material. The recycling company in my area picks up with the garbage each week so it makes life easier for me and the guys appreciate the single bundle so it’s a win/win.

Recycle Christmas trees and wreaths. I would check to see if your town has specific pick up dates and times for recycling of these items or perhaps your landscaper will haul it away for you for a small fee or you can find a local recycling company in your area that takes debris like trees, shrubs, etc. One town near me has the entire month of January available for residents to drop off their tree with a few guidelines to follow and set times. Knowing the tree will get a second chance to be of good use to the land is a great way to give back to the earth.

Save the front of your greeting cards and use for projects throughout the year stored in a labeled box for things such as pictures sent that can be framed, or cherished words that can be embellished into a collage or gift tags for next year. Another idea is to donate the front part of the cards you are not looking to keep.

Sort through your gift cards, returnable items, broken or damaged items or gifts that you might think to re-gift and see if you can repair those that are broken or donate the gift cards or returnable items to a shelter or places like Ronald McDonald house.

It is at this point where going through those gift items let me to go through my own closets of “stuff” to see what needs keeping and what could gain new life for someone else. So, I decided to keep to winter clothing this month. Please consider donating gently used or new winter gear such as blankets, sports equipment, boots, gloves, scarves, hats, coats, shovels, scrapers, sweaters, flannels, electric heating blankets, pads or rubs and creams, hand warmers, socks, knee hi stockings, shawls, jeans, etc.

Last thought: If you find that every month this year you want to declutter your pantry and give to food banks throughout the year instead of only at Thanksgiving time then this month would be a great time to check for the items you might have purchased a bit too much of like soup, canned goods, pasta, cereals, anything boxed or canned that can be made into a warm meal.

And just like that my top 5 list became my top 8 list and I didn’t lift a finger yet to get to the clean-up. Sheesh!

I hope this has been helpful for you and most of all I hope you have fun with it. Allow your imagination and creativity to bloom and grow while going through this list. If it is easier for you, save your new list for February when I list a whole new set of top 5 ideas. If you are really ambitious just remember how January feels like the longest month of the year so go ahead and tackle your emerging ideas as they happen. Good Luck and I’ll see you back here in February.

Body Basics: Alimentary Canal – How the Digestive System Works

Food is the fuel of the body. But before it can be of any use, it must be properly processed. The body’s food processing plant is the alimentary canal, a muscular tube about 10 m (33ft) long which starts at the mouth and ends at the anus.

When food is put in the mouth, it is tested for taste and temperature by the tongue. Solid food is bitten off by the front teeth (incisors), and then chewed by the back teeth or molars. Even before the food is tasted, and during chewing, saliva pours into the mouth from salivary glands near the lower jaw.

Saliva moistens food, and the enzymes it contains start digestion. By the time it is ready to be swallowed; the original mouthful has been transformed into a soft ball, called a bolus, and warmed or cooled to the right temperature.

Though quick, this stage is in fact quite complex. First the tongue pushes the bolus of food up against the roof of the mouth and into the muscle-lined cavity at the back of the mouth: the pharynx. Once food is in the pharynx, several activities take place within the space of a couple of seconds to prevent swallowing from interfering with breathing.

From the pharynx, the bolus now passes into the oesophagus, or gullet, the tube joining the mouth to the stomach. The bolus does not just fall down the oesophagus because of gravity but is pushed along by waves of muscle action called peristalsis.

Except during eating, the oesophagus is kept closed by a ring of muscles called the cardiac sphincter which prevents the highly acid contents of the stomach from being regurgitated into the oesophagus. As a bolus of food passes down the oesophagus, the sphincter relaxes to open the pathway into the stomach.

The stomach is a collapsible muscular bag designed to store food (so that it is not usually necessary to eat small meals all day long), to mix food with various digestive juices, then to release it slowly into the intestine.

Food is mixed as the stomach wall contracts and relaxes and is moved along by waves of peristalsis. By the time it has spent two to six hours being processed in the stomach, the partially digested food has been converted by various chemicals to a liquid called chyme.

The stomach exit is guarded by a muscle known as the pyloric sphincter. As the waves of peristalsis push chyme through the stomach, the sphincter lets out chyme in small amounts into the small intestine.

The small intestine is in fact the longest section of the alimentary canal, measuring 20ft (6m) and getting its name not from its length but its width – about 1 ½ in. (4cm). The largest part of the digestive process takes place in the small intestine, through the action of digestive juices made not only by the intestine itself, but by the liver (bile) and the pancreas (pancreatic secretions).

As waves of peristalsis move chime along the small intestine, it is given another thorough mixing. When more food enters the stomach, a valve at the end of the small intestine opens and chyme passes into the large intestine, a tube about 3ft (1.5m) long and an average 7.5 cm (3 in.) in diameter.

In the large intestine, water is absorbed into the blood from the liquid remains of digestion. By the time these remains reach the rectum, they are in the form of solid faeces. Rather than the continuous contractions of peristalsis, the progressively more solid remains are moved along by giant propulsions that take place only a few times a day.

Finally, faeces enter the anal canal, which is kept closed by the last sphincter in the alimentary canal. In infancy, the sphincter opens automatically when the anal canal is full. But as the nervous system matures, we learn to override the automatic signals.

The alimentary canal processes approximately 35 tons of food during the course of an average life of 70 years. No wonder, then, that it sometimes goes wrong. Some ills of the alimentary canal are so common they have become household words – ulcers, appendicitis, constipation, diarrhoea and heartburn, to name a few. While some are unavoidable, there are ways to keep the digestive system healthy.

  • Do not eat (or feed children) too much. This puts a strain on the digestion and can create a weight problem. In infants it can lead to vomiting and regurgitation.
  • Chew your food properly before swallowing. The digestion of carbohydrates starts in the mouth with ptyalin, an enzyme in saliva.
  • Include sufficient roughage in your diet – fruit with the skin on, lightly cooked vegetables, bran with your breakfast cereal. Dietary fibre cannot be digested by the alimentary canal but stimulates the passage of food through the large intestine, helping to prevent constipation and perhaps some intestinal diseases as well.
  • Avoid any foods you know you or your family react to badly.
  • Minimize stress. This increases the acid secretion of the stomach and the muscular action of the whole system, causing food to be pushed along too fast so that it is not properly digested.
  • Stop smoking, cut down, because, like stress, it stimulates acid secretion.

A Credit Card For People With Bad Credit – $10,000 Guaranteed Starting Credit Line

The recent financial crunch has caused many would be credit issuers to tighten up on approvals for those consumer applicants with less than perfect credit. Even new credit seekers who do not have poor FICO scores, but also have not had the opportunity to establish a good credit profile as of yet are being turned away and treated as high risk applicants.

The problem for people who fall into either of these categories is that they have a legitimate need to either establish or re-establish their good credit profile and raise their FICO score, however without easy access to credit card approvals their ability to accomplish this necessary task is extremely difficult. Ironically, it’s these same card issuers who would like their applicants to have established solid credit histories who will not approve them in the beginning to help them prove that they are worthy of a new card approval. This vicious credit circle affects over half of the households in American today.

A few companies have recently stepped in to fill the credit needs of this growing consumer segment and offer instant online approval credit cards for people with bad credit or no credit history at all. These credit providers will typically issue new credit cards without a credit check and regardless of the applicants past or present credit history. Some of these cards are issued as major brand logo credit cards, prepaid debit cards, secured credit cards and online catalog shopping cards which allow the card holder to purchase household and gift items from the credit grantors web based store.

One such card offered with no credit check is a new Platinum Card that boasts a huge beginning limit of $10,000 for all of its approved applicants, even those with poor credit or no history at all. As long as the applicant is at least 18 years of age and has a valid U.S. checking or savings account, the applicant will be approved. The Platinum Card also features 0 % interest on any unpaid balance and there is no employment verification required for approval. The card does require a minimal initial membership fee, however once the new member is approved, the card issues each user a whopping $2,500 bonus to use towards unpaid balances in addition to the generous starting limit of $10,000.

For consumers who are having trouble getting approved for a traditional credit card with strict income and employment requirements, this particular card for people with bad credit may be a valuable option to acquire a high limit credit card with no credit checks or employment verification.

Type 2 Diabetes – Cornerstone of Good (Basic) Diabetes Management Is Self Testing

One of the habits a diabetic must quickly acclimate to is self testing of blood glucose levels. Though this may seem like a never-ending chore, if a diabetes patient desires a healthy and active life a cornerstone of good (basic) diabetes management is self testing. Since no two diabetic’s treatment is the same with respect to diet, exercise, and medication, a blood glucose level self testing routine must also be customized for each individual. By working closely with your doctor and vigilantly monitoring your symptoms, it is relatively easy to arrive at a healthy but unobtrusive self testing regimen.

One of the first questions most diabetics have is how often they should check their glucose levels. Though your doctor will probably recommend more frequent self testing initially, once your levels are under control the frequency needed may drop. Since so many factors combine to contribute to your overall blood glucose levels a cornerstone of good (basic) diabetes management is self testing. Diet, exercise, and medications can all have significant effects on your readings and therefore it is important to settle on a schedule that includes both the frequency and times of day which you self test your blood glucose levels.

Even though a diabetic may settle on a self testing and lifestyle routine that helps to keep their levels at healthy levels, there are also special situations that may necessitate extra tests. If you experience any symptoms that may point to a low blood sugar condition, such as dizziness, confusion, or sleepiness you should immediately perform a self test. The risk of these symptoms leading to seizure or loss of consciousness is very real, so a cornerstone of good (basic) diabetes management is self testing as soon as possible when any of these symptoms occur. You should also perform an extra test if you perform a job with heavy machinery or are going to be driving.

A cornerstone of good (basic) diabetes management is self testing, and there are also reasons to occasionally increase the frequency of your self testing for short periods. If your doctor feels you are healthy enough to begin exercising or increasing the level of your exercise this can affect your blood glucose levels and should be accompanied by a correlating increase in frequency of self testing. If you are sick or your stress levels increase you should also ensure that you take blood glucose levels more often.

Skin Aging and Skin Greasiness – How to Conquer This

Skin aging and skin greasiness don’t often go together. Excessive dryness is more common, but some people do complain about this problem. There are a number of things that could be causing it, including your diet. The cosmetics, cleansers and other skincare products that you use could be the problem. Or it could be the medications that you are taking. Here are a few of the details.

Dietary Problems

Natural oils that lubricate and protect the skin from the elements are produced by the sebaceous glands, within the skin’s layers. The oil is called sebum and it is composed of several different kinds of fat. The dietary connection, then, to aging and skin greasiness could be too much fat in your diet. It could also be caused by the type of fat that you eat.

In a healthy diet, about 30% of calories come from fat. For diabetics and people with other health problems, the recommended fat intake may be lower. The body does need some dietary fat, but your best choices are nuts, fatty fish and olive oil, rather than animal fat, red meat, butter, dairy, etc. Reducing your intake of dietary fat could resolve your problem.

Problematic Skincare Products

This is the most common connection between aging and skin greasiness. Most of the skincare products on the market contain petrolatum and mineral oil. These ingredients are even found in cleansers, shampoos, shaving lubricants, makeup, etc.

Mineral oil and petrolatum are not absorbed by the skin’s layers, because they are not similar to sebum. Because they are not absorbed, they leave a greasy feeling. Check the label of ingredients on the personal care products that you are currently using. If they contain either of those, stop using them. That might solve the problem.

Medications

Certain medications stimulate the sebaceous glands causing them to produce more sebum. For example, hormone replacement therapy, which is sometimes prescribed for women during menopause, may increase the production of sebum. Steroids, which may be prescribed for a number of health problems, can also contribute to the problem. Lithium and barbiturates are some other medications with this side effect.

If you are taking a drug of this type, you cannot just stop taking it. But, there are solutions that reduce the signs of aging and skin greasiness, too. Read on.

Solutions

The first step is to use a good cleanser that dissolves oils. For daily use, you might try manuka honey bars, which would reduce your risk of blemishes, as well, because they have antibacterial activity. Every week or so, you can use a deep cleansing mask that contains the clay extracts kaolin and bentone gel, as well as a plant extract called allantoin. These ingredients work together to absorb excessive oils and pull dirt out of the pores.

You might not think that using a lotion could help balance sebum production, but if it contains ingredients like maracuja, it can. Maracuja will leave your face feeling soft and velvety, without making it feel oily. That’s just one ingredient that can help you conquer the signs of aging and skin greasiness. But, it’s a good place to start.
