Why is Childhood Arthritis On The Rise?

More children are suffering from arthritis than ever before. Unpublished data released June, 2007 from a study conducted jointly by the American College of Rheumatology and the American Academy of Pediatrics states nearly 300,000 children in the United States have significant arthritis. Dr. Brian Feldman, chief of the arthritis program at the Bloorview MacMillan Children's Center in Toronto states that this number is "probably an underestimate." The study did not include thousands of children who suffer with painful joints but have not yet been diagnosed with disease such as rheumatoid arthritis. An Australian study confirms that the rate of childhood arthritis is four to six times higher than rates typically quoted. (1)

Physicians are taught about 20 percent of children who are diagnosed with arthritis go on to develop chronic disease. However, new research suggests that the percentage is much greater than previously thought. Even when the acute painful episode subsides or goes into remission, relapses often occurs. In a study of children who had arthritis isolated to one joint, called oligoarticular arthritis, 60 percent went into remission. Of those, nearly 40 percent had reoccurrences. (2)

Permanent assurances by the Institute of Medicine and the FDA that vaccinations are safe and have no association with arthritis, a review of medical literature suggests a different conclusion.

Arthritis and the Hepatitis b Vaccine

Reports of the association between the hepatitis b vaccine and arthritis have been documented since 1990. One mechanism proposals that severe arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis, may be triggered by the vaccine if the person has a genetic tendency towards an autoimmune disease and then is vaccinated (3) Genetic predisposition can not be determined in advance of the vaccine. In essence, this mechanism blames the bad exit from the vaccine on the defective geneticities of the recipient.

The hepatitis b vaccine has been recommended for newborns since 1991 and is generally administrated within the first 48 hours of life. The value of this vaccine of should be questioned. For example, an Italian study touted a 46 percent reduction in the number of cases of hepatitis b in adults, attributed to the vaccination of children. This seems like a subtantial contribution to health. However, when the study is closely inspected, the significance of that percentage weres away. The number of acute hepatitis b infections decreased from 5.4 per one million persons to 2.9 per one million persons over eight years (between 1990 and 1998), a 46 percent reduction in disease. Can the elimination of a disease in one or two persons per million justify the vaccination of millions of babies? A similar study from France boasted that wide spread vaccination of hundreds of thousands of 11 year old adoles could prevent 30 teens from contracting liver cancer as adults. (4) This is how experts justify universal vaccination of newborns.

The World Health Organization denies the association between hepatitis b vaccination and arthritis, claiming, "the medical literature is compriseg of mainly case reports, case series and a few case-control studies," information that is considered to be marginally scientific. Unless the numbers of individuals are found to be "statistically significant" in proportion to the number of vaccinations administrated worldwide, clinically observed correlations between a vaccine and a vaccine injury are dismissed. The Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety (GACVS) concluded in 2006 that there was "no convincing evidence to support an association between hepatitis B vaccination and rheumatoid arthritis." 5 This to the contrary, an easy way to dismiss the illness of an individual.

Arthritis and the Rubella Vaccine in the MMR

Acute arthritis following rubella vaccinations have been reported since 1972, the earliest use of the vaccine. All of the symptoms are lumped and called an arthropathy, defined as any abnormality of a joint. The term encompasses joint stiffness, arthralgia (subjective joint pain), and arthritis (joint pain that is accompanied by swelling, redness, heat, pain, and / or decreed range of motion.) Arthropathy after a rubella shot usually occurs within 10 to 28 days and tends to appear suddenly. The joints involved, in order of decreasing frequency, are fingers, knees, wrists, elbows, ankles, hips, and toes. (6) The rubella strain used in today's rubella vaccine, strain RA27 / 3, reportedly causes post-vaccination joint symptoms in approximately 15% of respondents. (7)

While most reports of arthropathy after rubella vaccination have occurred in adult females, extremely painful joints have occurred in children, reported as two different syndromes. The "arm syndrome" causes severe pain in the arm and the hand, and tingling that is worse at night. The "catcher's crouch" syndrome causes severe knee pain while in the morning. Both can occur within two months after rubella vaccination. As an example, The Journal of Arthritis and Rheumatism published a report in November, 2005 about eleven children who suffered recurrent episodes of catcher's crouch after receiving a rubella vaccine. (8)

As stated by Dr. Feldman, "The whole idea that 80% of children [with arthritis] will have permanent remission is just wrong. Most of our patients will have arthritis well into adulthood." Those with post-vaccination arthritis are more likely to require substantial drugs to control the progress of their disease, one that has no cure. While not every child has vaccine-induced arthritis, there is a strong possibility that many children can attribute their condition to the hepatitis b or rubella vaccine. Those children have become customers of the pharmaceutical industry for life as a result of vaccination.

After 48 hours the available antiviral medications are much less effective.

1.) Fever of 100.4 F (38C) or higher. Fever is rare if you only have a cold but fever over 100.4 F for 3-4 days is common in up to 80% of flu cases.

2.) Muscle aches that are widespread throughout the body. Muscle aches are not common with a cold and if they do occur are normally slight.

3.) Very tired or exhausted feeling. The degree of tiredness is usually much more pronounced with the flu than with a common cold.

4.) Headaches are common with the flu but fairly uncommon with a cold.

5.) Chills are common with the flu but are uncommon with a cold.

6.) Sore throats are common with both the flu and a cold.

7.) Stuffy or runny nose. These are common with both the flu and a cold but are more common with children who have the flu than with adults with the flu.

8.) Stomach problems such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are sometimes associated with the flu – a more common symptom with children – but uncommon with a cold.

If you have any of the symptoms commonly associated with the flu, you should see your doctor ASAP – remember, as stated above, if within 48 hours of the sunset of flu symptoms he may be able to treat you with antiviral medicines that may reduce the severity of your symptoms and shorten their duration. After 48 hours the effectiveness of antiviral medications is substantially reduced.

Here are a few other suggestions that may help get you through the misery of having the flu:

1) Get enough sleep – not only will sleep help your body recover more quickly than the flu but when you are asleep you are not suffering
2) take over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol or Advil or other brands of ibuprofen or acetaminophen
3) keep your room warm (but not hot)
4) monitor your fever
5) Avoid contact with others (except your doctor) until you are well
6) do not continue working or strenuous daily activities until you are well. Prevention is better. To prevent the flu: Ask your doctor if he recommends that you get a flu shot each year before the flu season begins. Surely you should see you doctor immediately if you suspect you already have the flu.

Methodology of Homeopathic Treatment

Contrary to other systems of medicine, the homeopathic system of treatment removes the causes of diseases, instead of their effects. Once the cause is removed, the effect will automatically disappear.

Philosophy:
According to the homoeopathic philosophy, what substance causes a disease, the same has the capacity to remove its effect. For example, if someone threatens you, you respond more loudly, more powerfully and more qualitatively.
Homeopathic remedy is essentially a nuclear remedy, and, therefore, the electrons of disease found in a remedy, will immediately start working, because, the disease is in a crude form, whereas remedies are more powerful.

(1) Psora: – It is caused by impurity of mind and body. Its basic symptom is: itch. Psora patient is, usually, found to be intelligent, impatient and active. He suffers more during the daytime. All skin diseases are based in psora.
(2) Psychosis (Gonorrhea): – It is caused by impure sexual contact. Due to gonorrhea, urinary canal gets infected. A pus-like substance is discharged from pudndum and its environs. Burning is felt in urinary canal. Glandulary developments take place. This type of patient mostly develops a criminal mentality. Usually, he likes meat. He feels better and more comfortable at night. All his crimes are due to intelligence. Gonorrhea patient is mischievous.
(3) Syphilis: – This venereal disease is also caused by impure sexual contact. Syphilis patient is morbid. All his crimes are due to morbidity and insanity. Symptoms aggravate during the night. Physical symptoms are found in fissures (cracks) around the glands, especially on the head of penis. Hair fall and the falling of eye brows and bears are some other symptoms of the disease. A fresh miasma of psora, gonorrhea and syphilis can be easily treated but the most difficult treatment is that of hereditary miasmas, transferred from parents to their children.

What is Impurity of Mind?
Impurity of mind is: to be absent from the present moment on the physical plane. Mentally, it means; shifting from the source. Psychologically, it implies; roaming about of psyche (ego). Plants are rarely sick. Sicker than them are animals. Most sickly are human beings. Why? Plants have no mind. Animals have mind and human beings have a mind ego. All the problems arrive due to the fickle mind, wandering about in search of its source. Therefore, it has a tendency to go into the past, or into the future, and is not content with the present, because, in the present moment, it has not found its source. Now its past becomes romantically interesting or its future glorious.

That means; it knows its goal but does not know where it is. Consequent upon its wanderings, it is removed from its source. Then how to trace the source? The source is everywhere in the infinite vastness of the universe. Therefore, in the present moment, where your instincts, impulses, senses and minds go, the source is there. Instead of being scorned face to face, we would now receive it in the form of a "non response", which, for some, could just be as demoralizing. Absorbing more rejection was certainly not what any of us signed on for. But what could be done about it? Our emotional response to rejection seemed to be tightly woven in some way to the event itself.

The answer lies in understanding what happens internationally as we experience what we would associate as rejection. The beliefs that we create (how we process that event) determine whether or not we feel bad about it. So it is crucial to know what we are telling ourselves at that moment if we want to positively affect our emotional and behavioral response.

What we now know is that we invoke an explanatory style for everything that happens to us. If we view bad events as permanent, pervasive and personal, then we are using a style that is pessimistic. On the other hand, if we view bad events as temporary, specific and external to ourselves, we would be using an optimistic style. When faced with a good event, the manner with which we would explain it is reversed. These three dimensions then, are crucial to how we feel and absolutely, what we do when faced with rejection.

Optimism should'nt be confused with "Positive Thinking", which is where you pretended that everything will go exactly according to plan and you refuse to consider any other exit.

When rejection happens, we can blame ourselves (internalize) or we can blame other people or circumstances (externalize). Rejection can make anyone feel helpless, at least temporarily. To the degree that we believe an event is permanent, however, (she'll never go out with me), the greater is the likelihood that we will give up the pursuit. People who blame themselves when they are rejected have low self-esteem as a consequence. They think they are unlovable. Those who blame external events do not lose self-esteem.

Personalization controls only how we feel about ourselves, but pervasiveness and permanence-the more important dimensions-control what we do. Another important component to the explanatory styles is whether or not we have hope, which depends on two of the three dimensions: pervasiveness and permanence. If we can find temporary and specific causes for why we were rejected, we sense hope. Temporary causes help to limit helplessness in time, and specific causes limit helplessness to the original situation.

In contrast to this, when we attribute permanent causes to why we are rejected we senselessness far into the future. If we find both permanent and universal causes, we are engaging in the practice of despair, which can lead to depression.

Those with a permanent, pessimistic style think or talk about bad things using words like always and never:

"I'll never find someone to have a relationship with."

Those who use words like sometimes and laTely , or use qualifiers and blame bad events on transient conditions have an optimistic style.

"Sometimes the girls at the nightclub can be a little stuck up."

If you are regularly taking yourself out of the dating scene because of rejection, do this simple test. Perform the ABC's:

  1. Describe the situation (Adversity)
  2. Identify the thoughts that you hold about it (Beliefs)
  3. Note the emotional effect and behavior (Consequences)

Once you find that you can easily list the Adversity, Beliefs and Consequences of an event, there are two additional steps to take:

  1. Challenge your beliefs (Disputation)
  2. Describe the positive effect your new beliefs have (Energization)

If you have difficulty in disputing your original beliefs, there are 4 more tactics to employ:

  1. Gather facts against them (Evidence)
  2. Find other reasons to explain the event (Alternatives)
  3. Ask yourself, What's the worst thing that could happen if my belief was correct? (Implications)
  4. Find ways to distract yourself from those negative beliefs (Usefulness)

There is something else that I have found to be very therapeutic; do this right after being ditched. Find some time to be by yourself and just sit in a comfortable chair. Close your eyes and imagine that you had just met the most fabulous person who finds you totally irresistible. Continue with that scenario for at least fifteen minutes. Do it two or three times a day if you are really distraught. Within a short period of time you will begin to feel as if you actually did meet someone wonderful. This is the fastest, most effective way that I have found to "get over" somebody.

Whether we like it or not, dating requires us to "sell" ourselves. Therefore, having an optimistic attitude is crucial if we want to overturn rejection. Once you've learned to spot and change your pessimistic beliefs, you will be able to stay in the dating process longer and weather those situations when you are turned down. Success, after all, comes to those with persistence, and maintaining hope is a core ingredient.
