For teenagers especially, acne is a major concern, and for those who do not suffer from pimples, that is great, be very, very happy – but for those that do, you can also rejoice, as there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The most important beauty tip for anyone with or without acne, is also free, – WATER – drinking 8 glasses of water a day will hydrate your body, and will help flush out toxins. You will love your body and love your skin.

Keep your skin healthy and clean. Make sure you do not leave make-up products on your skin for too long as they may contribute to clogging of the pores, which will cause more pimples and blackheads, so do not ever sleep with make-up on. Keep your hair back from your face, as hair can be oily, and leave an oily residue on the forehead.

Keep your towels and pillows washed and clean, they are absorbent and can absorb the oil from your hair and distribute it to your face.

Never pick the pimples – that will transfer dirt from fingernails, and make things worse, also will more than likely leave scars.

Eat as healthily as you can. This helps cleanse from the inside. Cut down on fatty and greasy foods. Eat foods rich in fiber.

How To Maintain An Erection – Better Erections

If you can maintain an appreciation for over 45 minutes you can consider that your libido is in pretty good condition. If you previously had a low sex drive and your ability to achieve good orders is returning, this is good news. The tingle is back when you see a hot girl in the street. Your energy levels are getting higher. But this is only half of it! Getting an erection is not much use at all to you if you can not maintain it.

What happens when you can not maintain an erection

Many men, both young and old, have had difficulties to maintain an appreciation for longer than a few minutes at some point in their lives.

You get hard, your partner gets excited and anticipates good sex.

Then after 5 or 10 minutes you start losing your wood and you end up making love like a marsh mellow in a slot machine. This is not much fun! Men that have this difficulty often may mistakenly believe their floppy device condition is a result of a distraction. They'll say to their partner that some noise outside made them lose their appreciation, or something that their partner said put them off. This is not actually true though, even though they may believe it. In most cases, what's really happening is simply that you need to boost your libido to maintain an erection. If you find you are losing your erection regularly, you need to look at finding solutions. Penile massage, penile exercises, libido food and the right mindset are all ways to get solid, strong erections more frequently. And this is free for you to do.

Tips to maintain an erection for longer during sex

1. Deep breathing

It's essential that you breathe regularly and deeply in order to maximize oxygen levels in your blood and maintain an erection properly.

If you find yourself getting physically out of breath from all the moving around during sex, then you'll need to match your vivid movements with regular breathing. Failure to breathe properly and supply your body with the fuel it needs to keep everything running during sex can easily result in your erection getting softer the more you exert yourself. In your mission to satisfy your partner you can get carried away and start moving faster and faster. If you do not breathe more deeply when doing this, you risk losing your erection.

2. Massage technique

This is a brilliant technique which can really help you when you need to keep hardness for longer.

When your erection is strong, at the start of lovemaking, make the most of it and massage all around the base of your penis. You'll need to use your fingers to massage the perineum area behind your balls, the very base of your penis and following that, higher up your penis. Performing penile massages regularly when your penis is hard will increase blood circulation and see your erections getting harder for longer. You need to massage for a few minutes if you can. If it's awkward for you to do this, then massaging for just a minute or so is also fine. Just make sure you do it. If you feel you're losing hardness, then pull out and give your partner oral sex for a few minutes. You'll be able to massage your base area discretely and for more time.

You'll feel your erection getting more solid and staying hard for longer as time goes on using this great method.

3. Stimulate yourself

Losing your erection is not much fun in the middle of a love act. Did you get distracted by thinking of something that worries you, or is it a physical issue? Rather than think about that, when you lose your erection, above all you should know that your appreciation can come back. Instead of just lying there, pleasure your partner. This has the double benefit of bringing her (closer) to orgasm and making you feel sexier watching her. If you feel yourself lose the hardness, then take a break and use your tongue and your fingers on her to give her pleasure. Seeing a girl very excited will make you even more excited! This can be enough to make your return return with a bang.

4. Relax

Instead of worrying when you lose your erection, just relax.

It'll come back and harder than before. Worrying only makes it almost impossible to get your appreciation back. Being confident and believing it will return increases your chances of resuming a good sex sessions by ten.

You can maintain an erection using the above techniques, and improve your health to achieve better erections regularly.

You Need a Talented Spine Surgeon

Your spine is one of the most vital parts of your body. It supports your posture, flexibility, and holds your entire body upright as you perform daily tasks. It is also responsible for protecting your spinal cord, which is a component to your central nervous system. There are a myriad of conditions that can affect your vertebral column and cause back pain, any of which can limit your mobility and make everyday tasks a hassle. Understanding your backbone and its functions can help you prevent injuries and possible disease.

Since the human vertebral column is complex and multi-faceted, seeing a talented spine surgeon is necessary for your overall health. They can provide relief both surgically and non-surgically for a host of conditions including degenerative conditions of the neck and back, spinal stenosis, disc herniations, scoliosis and other spinal deformities, spinal traumas and cancer of the spinal.

Your spine surgeon will utilize an array of tools to properly diagnose anything whatever or may not be ailing your vertebrae. One such tool is a lumbar and cervical discography, which determines whether disc degeneration or an abnormal disc is causing your pain.

Another tool is Electrodiagnostic (EMG) testing. This technique is frequently used to test the functionality of the muscles and nerves. This assessment tool is usually used to diagnose pinched nerves, peripheral nerve damage, and muscle disease.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is another valuable tool that your doctor may use to determine the condition of your backbone. MRI's are noninvasive, nonradioactive and completely pain free for the patient, so they are used quite frequently.

Radiographic assessments utilize the x-ray technology to determine what the cause of your back pain. Usually, your doctor will only order an x-ray if they suspect serious degeneration, cancer, severe trauma or bone deformity as the root cause of your pain.

Injection treatments for bone and joint pain has become a popular method of treatment for several conditions. Epidural steroid injections are used to combat infection that is associated with lower back pain or neck pain. They aim of these injections is to reopen the passes where the nerves pass out of the spell. The vertebrae becomes inflated in certain cases and put a large amount of pressure on the nerves. Lumbar zygapophysial joint injections are used to both determine and treat your pain.

Once your condition has been assessed by your medical practitioner they can begin treating you. Find out why your back aches, and get the expertise of a professional spell surgeon.

Avoiding Taking Too Many Supplements

Dietary supplements in general, and protein supplements in particular, are a great way to make up the gap between the nutrients you get from dietary sources and the nutrients you need to accomplish your goals. For the great majority of people, dietary supplements will be limited to a single multi-vitamin a day; studies show that most people simply take supplements to feel better about themselves, rather than for any specific need. But those using protein supplements are generally power-users, who have very clear and defined goals as to what they need, and what they need to do to get there. The temptation to over-supplement is great; the immutable wall of diminishing returns, however, is soon reached when dealing with protein supplements.

The amount of protein supplementation you need will depend greatly on your level of activity and intensity of training as well as your ultimate goals. Endurance athletes, such as swimmers, cyclists and runners will need 1.2 to 1.4 grams of proteins per kilogram of weight per day, while bodybuilders will need 1.4 to 1.8 grams of proteins per kilogram per day. Bodybuilders who are training to increase their mass and bulk rather than maintaining what they already have will need up to twice that – up to 3.6 grams. The body, however, has a limited absorption capacity for protein, and anything over that will not be used and will be literally wasted.

It is thought that excess protein consumption can lead to kidney damage, as well as complications with the liver; these two organs act as filters for our body and need to break down and eliminate any excess, unused nutrients we consume. It is also surmised that over-consumption of protein supplements can lead, in the long term, to osteoporosis, although this has not been proven. Athletes and bodybuilders who need protein supplementation to avoid unbalanced and unhealthy diets should closely keep track of their protein intake so that it is in the 'sweet spot', so to speak; not too much, and not too little.

Bodybuilders and athletes should consider getting about half their protein from their diet, and half from supplements; the dietary protein constituents the baseline, while the supplement is taken as closely as possible in time to the actual workout, in order to promote cell growth and avoid protein catabolism. Keeping track of your protein intake will allow you to know exactly how much protein you need, and when you should take it to maximize your results. In general, follow the instructions that come with your protein supplements, and always use common sense.

A Cancer Story

In the beginning of August 2016 my daughter in-law Andrea told her mother and me that she was told by her doctor that she had third stage cancer of the uterus and third stage cancer of the cervix. This came as quite a shock to both of us because Andrea was only thirty years old.

Andrea also said that the doctor had also scheduled her for a pap smear for the first week of September. Andrea knew that I had been spending a lot of time on the computer researching cancer cures because I have several friends who are stricken with this disease and Andrea wanted to know what I recommended.

I am 63 years old and in my lifetime I have witnessed the media announce several different cancer cures that were all silenced. I believe that the medical industry makes too much money from the chemo treatments to ever want to really find a cure for this disease that is killing all our loved ones. This only makes sense because what would you do if you were making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on chemo therapy, you lived in a huge mansion behind a gated community and you knew if the public ever found about all the cancer cures available your money would dry up.

I am amazed at all the grief and sorrow these people have put us through so they can live in their gated communities. The big Pharma industry is a 300 billion dollar a year industry mostly from chemo therapy. The health insurance industry is a trillion dollar a year industry. Think of how much money would be saved without cancer treatments. Any time you make the choice to put money ahead of people you are at risk of paying heavenly dues.

Some of the cures that have been already silenced are, in 2007 channel 7 news in Los Angeles reported that cancer had finally been cured. They reported that the doctors were taking white blood cells from the patients and breeding them in a dish and then injecting them back into the patients thus curing the cancer. I heard this story only once on channel 7 news. I never seen or heard of any followups since then.

In 2015 HBO had a special about cancer. This doctor was taking T cells from aids patients and injecting them into cancer patients thus destroying the cancer. This doctor said that he expected to receive the patent from the FDA sometime in 2016. That never happened because it is already 2017. He was either bought off or killed.

The German doctor Leonard Coldwell has a cancer clinic in Germany and has a cancer cure rate of 92%. When he tried to establish a clinic in the United States the drug industry tried to buy his patent. When he wouldn’t sell he has had his car blown up and has been shot at several times. Dr Coldwell also stated in his book “The Only Answer To Cancer” that when the people of Big Pharma get cancer they fly to Germany for treatment.

Also in Dr Coldwell’s book he uses Certified Food Grade 35% hydrogen Peroxide to cure cancer. He would start his patient’s with three drops in 8 ounces of distilled water per day and increase the dosage by one drop per day until he reached 25 drops. We did this treatment on a friend of a friend who had leukemia. After the treatment was completed he went to his doctor and his blood work came back as “normal”.

Just recently it has been reported that doctors were finding that anti-fungal drugs were curing cancer by accident. Of course that’s all that was ever said about anti-fungal drugs and the doctors keep right on killing their patients with chemo therapy. Any substance that kills fungus kills cancer.

Anti-fungal drugs curing cancer should not be of any surprise to any doctor. In 1931 doctor Otto Heinrich Warburg of Germany received the Noble Peace Prize in medicine. One of his studies concluded that cancer is a fungus. This is the same claim that Dr.Tullio Simoncini of Italy has been saying for years. The American doctors claim that Dr Tullio Simoncini is a quack and yet don’t offer not one shred of proof as to why he’s a quack.

Dr Tullio Simoncini has a video on YouTube where he shows the cancerous tumors inside a patient and how he washes the cancerous tumors away with a baking soda solution. Dr Tullio also tells a story about this patient who was in a coma and had a cancerous brain tumor. The other doctors gave the patient no chance of recovery. Dr Tullio administered an IV containing a solution of baking soda. After seven hours the patient regained consciousness and the tumor was gone.

Dr Mark Sircus also says that cancer is a fungus and has been curing cancer with baking soda. Dr Sircus has a clip on YouTube explaining how to use the baking soda regiment correctly in the fight of cancer.

I also watched a video on You Tube about a lady about sixty years old who had five cancerous tumors throughout her body. She tried chemo therapy without any results. she then tried vitamin B-17. When she took the B-17 all five tumors disappeared. She also discovered that when she stopped taking the B-17 the cancerous tumors returned so she concluded that because she took the chemo therapy (which destroys your immune system) she would have to take the B-17 the rest of her life.

There is a hour and a half program on YouTube called “Cancer the forbidden cure”. This program covers the one hundred year old history of cancer and the many numerous cures the people and medical doctors had discovered through the years only to have the FDA outlaw every cure submitted.

The bottom line is this. If you want to cure your cancer you are going to have to do your own research. The medical industry values your money more than your life.

When Andrea asked me what I would recommend to fight her cancer I didn’t want to take any chances or any risks. I was undecided between baking soda or B-17. I concluded that in taking baking soda or in taking B-17 neither had any side effects so why not take both and see if we couldn’t destroy this cancer quickly. That’s exactly what we did. During the several weeks when Andrea was taking the baking soda and B-17 she was worried and would ask me if I thought that the treatments were going to work before her next doctor’s visit? I told her I wasn’t sure if we had enough time, we would have to wait and see.

We then started Andrea on 500mg of B-17. We gave her one 500mg capsule in the morning and another 500mg capsule at evening. At the same time Andrea took 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in half a glass of water three times a day. Morning, noon and at night.

In the beginning of September 2016 when Andrea went to the doctor for her pap smear the doctor after examining her said that the cancer was completely gone. Andrea immediately went on Facebook and told everybody that the treatments worked!

Why am I writing this article? I have seen my Grandmother die of lung cancer, both my parents died of cancer, my uncle died of colon cancer. I have had several friends die of cancer. My best friend recently had cancer and I told him about what I have discovered about cancer. James decided to trust his doctors instead of trying B-17 or baking soda. James is now dead!! unbelief killed him along with the help of his doctors.

It’s been said that if you want to find corruption follow the money. Big Pharma is telling us that they are going to spend our money on genetic research. They are doing this because they know where cancer really comes from and they know that they could spend all the money in the world and never find a solution from genetic research. Genetic research would guarantee them and their future employees a paycheck for at least the next hundred years.

Some of the facts that I discovered are chemo therapy comes from mustard gas. It is highly toxic. To use chemo as a cure for cancer is ridiculous. Chemo kills everything, cancer cells as well as normal cells. The doctors objective is to kill the cancer cells before the chemo kills you. This approach in itself is deadly and retarded. Even if they kill the cancer first the poison has still left your immune system dead. And as in the case of my mom they killed the cancer first and a year later when she caught a cold, without an immune system the cold developed into pneumonia and killed her.

According to Google the cancer cure rate in the United States is 2.1% and in Australia the cancel cure rate is 2.3%. Neither of which are acceptable. That means that there is a 97.9% chance that you will die using chemo and radiation as a treatment for cancer! I also read that the average lifespan for a cancer patient on chemo is six months. The study also found that if you did nothing in your fight against cancer you would then have a 7% chance of survival!

Another interesting fact I came across is Forensic Pathologist Dr. Michael D.Farley said in an interview that of all the countless autopsies he has performed in his career on cancer victims not one of them has ever died of cancer! The cancer victims have died of either chemo poisoning or radiation poisoning or both or in the case of people like my mom they died as a result of no immune system.

Currently in the United States they say that one in three people will develop cancer at some point in their lifetime. Do yourself a big favor if you are one of the three. Do your research. Don’t take any advice from anybody making money from cancer treatment. It only makes sense to try the baking soda first. If taken correctly it only costs about a dollar and doesn’t have any side effects. The B-17 is another good bet and will only run you about $100.00.

In conclusion, cancer is a simple fungus that is easily killed. Baking soda kills cancer, B-17 kills cancer, a raw vegetable diet kills cancer, your doctors anti-fungal medication kills cancer, turmeric prevents and kills cancer, Food grade 35% hydrogen peroxide kills cancer, chemo therapy and radiation kills you!

These medications are relatively cheap and doesn’t require any faith or belief on your part to work effectively. You can be the biggest skeptic on the planet. You can not even believe it will work for you as long as you take these treatments your cancer will be gone.

Medical Tourism Guide For Medical Treatment Abroad

A global economic recession is at hand, but it is no secret that the United States is one of the most affected countries all over. Many citizens are doing their best to make ends meet, even those with urgent health and medical concerns who are waiting in line for treatments. A recent but increasingly popular trend in the American health community is medical tourism. Also known as medical travel, health tourism, overseas healthcare, or healthcare travel, medical tourism is a broad term encompassing all sorts of overseas travel to receive medical, dental, or surgical treatments. Read more of this guide and get a better understanding.

Reasons for Receiving Treatment Abroad

Various reasons abound for the thousands of Americans who travel overseas to receive medical care abroad. The primary reason is the huge savings they get from having their treatments abroad instead of in the U.S. In India, Thailand, Bolivia, and Argentina, four of the hottest medical tourism spots, a person can receive surgical treatment that costs up to 90 percent less than here, without crimping on the quality of treatment received. Furthermore, many patients in the U.S. are relegated to a long waiting list where it takes up to a year before they can have treatments. Many medical tourism destinations, such as Singapore and Bangalore, allow you to have the operation right after the day you hop off the plane.

Medical Tourism Guide to Destinations

By far, the most popular destination is India, where many facilities are accredited by the U.S. Joint Commission International and the treatments are for complex abnormalities, such as cancer, eye disorders, diabetes, infertility, heart problems, and orthopaedics. Other treatments may also be for stress management, facial and body procedures, weight management, sex change, and hair replacement. Other countries that have established themselves in this burgeoning industry are Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Turkey, Israel, Malaysi, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore.

Considerations for Choosing a Destination

It is important that you plan your trip way ahead of the date of the medical procedure. Applying for a long leave at work is a must; so is incorporating a long leeway at the end of the procedure to allow you time to recuperate or visit your medical practitioner for post-operation treatments or checkups. Do your research on the destination you plan to visit and the medical procedure and have your current physician become actively involved. He will still be your doctor after the operation when you get back home. Also, think of possible language barriers. Some medical tourism hotspots where most people can understand and speak English fluently are Singapore, India, the Philippines, and South Africa.

Risks of Medical Tourism

Generally, the quality of healthcare you can get abroad is up to par with that you can receive for such an exorbitant price here. It is not medical standards that some people are wary of, but several environmental factors inherent to the destination. For instance, warm and tropical countries such as India and Thailand have higher rates of infectious diseases (i.e. dysentery, influenza, tuberculosis, etc.) which are not encountered as frequently in the north. But by choosing the right hospital the risks of medical tourism are quite small.

Adults With Asperger's – How to Manage Eye Contact

Difficulty With Making Eye Contact

One of the key signs of Asperger's Syndrome is a difference in the use of eye contact during communication. This seemingly trivial variation can cause huge conflicts and misunderstandings when trying to deal with the neurotypical world. When to look someone in the eye, when to look away, does lack of eye contact indicate unfriendliness or dishonesty, does eye contact that too length indicate a threat or a seduction? A lot gets expressed and read into a seemingly simple gaze. The confusion gets compounded by the fact that different cultures have different rules for eye contact, and the rules within families can be different than those for friends, acquentions or strangers. What's praised as "paying attention" for some cultures is then criticized in others as "not being respectful."

Why People Use Eye Contact

There are reasons the neurotypical world uses eye contact: as an indication of openness, interest, or paying attention, as well as to convey less friendly messages such as boredom or domination. Checking in with the listener's eye contact is a way to verify that you're still getting your point across and not confusing, boring, or offending the listener. While it may be considered impolite to interrupt when confused, a simple squint conveys the message clearly.

For those with Asperger's Syndrome or other autism spectrum disorders, eye contact may be very uncomfortable. Just go online and read some of the blogs from adults with Asperger's syndrome and you'll find great discussions about how eye contact can feel threatening, distracting, or overwhelming.

How to Manage Problems With Eye Contact

So, what can be done about problems with eye contact? It would be great if everyone acknowledged that eye contact is a trivial matter, and people were judged by their words and actions instead. Unfortunately, I do not think that's going to happen any time soon. Unless they're clearly affected by Asperger's, most people probably do not even know what it is. (When I tell acquaints that I specialize in coaching and therapy for people with Asperger's, the first question is usually "What's Asperger's?"). lifelong, although mostly unconscious, behavior.

Of course, you always have the option of doing nothing, just following your natural behaviors. If you're not suffering from unwanted consequences due to lack of eye contact, then that could be the obvious solution.

But, if you're having trouble socially or professionally, I think the solution comes down to compromise and careful consideration of the situation. In The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome , Tony Attwood suggests that adults find a way to explain to others why their eye contact is different. (p. 89) He suggests finding that looking away helps the speaker concentrate, or asking the listener to let them know if they're getting bored. These direct methods are probably most useful for those people you know fairly well and those you're going to be interacting with a lot.

Some online sites suggest making eye contact by looking just above the eyes, at the forehead, or the eyebrows. I think this is an intriguing idea, but you've got to practice first. Find a neurotypical friend and see how this works. (Not your mom! She's used to the way you have been.) Most neurotypicals get an uncomfortable feeling when body language is different, even though they may not be able to explain precisely what is wrong. Do not try faking eye contact for the first time on a job interview or a first date.

A final option is to try to learn neurotypical eye gaze behaviors. This is a big, time consuming project and will probably require training from some sort of professional and lots of practice. I'd suggest finding a qualified therapist, speech professional, or coach to figure out all the technical details and then a close neurotypical friend to practice.

Unfortunately, there's no simple answer to the matter of eye contact, just a lot of compromises. In the end, the people who matter most to you will probably get your message, whether or not you look them in the eye.

Type 2 Diabetes – The Risk for Developing Gestational Diabetes Is Higher in Women Having Twins

According to a study reported on in July of 2018 in the Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics twin pregnancies are at higher risk of developing Gestational diabetes, or pregnancy-related diabetes, than singleton pregnancies. Other risk factors are the same for singleton and twin births.

Scientists at Tel Aviv University in Israel and other research facilities in Canada included 270,843 women who had a twin or singleton birth in Ontario, Canada between 2012 and 2016 …

  • a total of 266,942, or 98.6 percent, had single births, while
  • 3901 had twins.

The women with twins had a 13 percent higher risk of developing Gestational diabetes than the women with one child. The difference was significant only in women treated with diet alone. Other qualities raising the risk of the condition in mothers bearing both singletons and twins included …

  • mother's age at least 35,
  • non-Caucasian race,
  • a body mass index (BMI) over 30 kg / m2 (obese).

According to one study twins born to women diagnosed with Gestational diabetes can require more care than mothers pregnant with a single baby. In June of 2018, the journal Endocrinology Diabetes and Nutrition reported on a study that compared twins and singletons born from women with the condition. Researchers at the University Hospital in Madrid, Spain compared 120 sets of twins with 240 singletons born to women who had been diagnosed with diabetes during their pregnancy. A higher percentage of low birthweight babies was seen among the twins, although the number did not quite reach statistical significance. Twins had a …

  • higher risk of low blood sugar levels and
  • polycythemia, a higher than average concentration of red blood cells.

In April of 2017, the Journal of Perinatology reported on an analysis of earlier studies conducted at the Royal North Shore Hospital and other research facilities in Sydney, Australia. In an aggregate of thirteen studies, twins from mothers diagnosed with Gestation diabetes were born at the same pregnancy age as twins from non-diabetic mothers, with a slightly lower average birth weight. The number of overly large or small newborns was the same for those from Gestationalally diabetic mothers as for those with non-diabetic mothers. The risk of difficulty with …

  • breathing,
  • low blood sugar, and
  • low Apgar * scores

were the same, although twins from Gestationalally diabetic mothers were 49 percent more likely to be admitted to the intensive care unit.

* Apgar scores were invented by an obstetrician -Virginia Apgar, and measure the baby's health at 1 minute and again at 5 minutes after birth. It measures …

Eczema And Chlorine

Suffering with itchy, dry skin may be a sign of eczema. This skin condition results from hyper-sensitivity to chemicals, foods or stress. It is not an allergy, but the skin’s reaction to allergens.

Bodily areas most affected are elbows, wrists, and knees, but the face, neck, and groin may also become patchy and scaly. Heat and dry climate make itching worse, and if the skin is repeatedly scratched, abrasions or blisters may occur.

Eczema occurs more frequently in persons susceptible to asthma or hay fever, or with a family history of respiratory allergies; attacks begin with exposure to external irritants. Since the condition is genetic, the only remedy is to decrease conditions that generate symptoms. This includes stress management, avoidance of foods that cause flare-ups, and avoiding irritants.

Persons with ongoing, unmanageable eczema should consider chlorine. Present in large quantities in tap water used for washing, it is a powerful irritant, and is especially dangerous to those with heightened skin sensitivity. Removing chlorine from water prevents exposure to a major irritant, and can result in fewer, or discontinued, eczema attacks.

Vitamin C – Nature’s Chlorine Destroyer!

Several dechlorinating shower water filters are available. Some rely on activated carbon or sulfuric agents, but these products are not environmentally friendly. They also are not as healthy to humans as the more natural method of removing chlorine with Vitamin C ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate crystals.

This method of neutralizing chlorine and turning it into harmless agent (instead of retaining it, along with other contaminants) is employed by the VS-1 shower filter. The VS-1 shower filter screws directly onto the shower arm using the existing shower head, and allows up to a year’s worth of chlorine-free water. A window displaying the crystals will remind users when it’s time for a replacement. The VS-1 is compatible with all fixed or hand held shower fixtures that conform to the ½” N.P.T. standard.

With no maintenance, the VS-1 shower filter is the easiest way to remove the irritant that can cause eczema. In addition, its special properties assure effectiveness with all water temperature and pressure levels – a claim other water filters can not make! The United States Environmental Protection Agency has approved this method as the least toxic dechlorination process, and the medical community uses it in dialysis. That is because it organically leaves water clean, odorless and chlorine free, and adds extra nutrients into it.

One VS-1 shower filter cartridge, called VS-2, can inexpensively remove chlorine from up to 25,000 gallons of water, providing freedom and relief to many eczema sufferers!

Top 5 Supplements to Add to Your Daily Nutrition

If you're looking for a little added extra to your daily nutrition then how about adding some great supplements. Below are 5 supplements that will help you in many ways daily.

For everyone who does not get enough fruits and vegetables. (That's up to 80% of the population.) Rather than mega doses of nutrients look for one pill that provides 100% of your daily requirements for as many different vitamins and minerals as possible. Amounts exceeding 100% are generally a waste and you'll end up peeing them away. When it comes to price, generally the more you pay the more vitamin content you will get. However you can get multivitamins for cheap at your local supermarkets.

Protein Powder

Protein powder has other advantages to the protein we eat through foods. It's convenient in a sense that it's easy to carry round in a shaker and easy to conjure up in a short space of time. Drinking a shake after every workout speeds muscle recovery and supplies your body with the amino acids needed for muscle growth. This is important for not only athletes and gym goers but your every day normal Joe / Joanne Bloggs. Protein powders vary in price, especially with more brands coming out every month. Do your research and look for good deals.

This synthetic version of an energy source produced naturally in the body is stored in the muscles for use during exercise. So why do we need extra if our body already produces it? Well our body makes and stores around 120g of creatine, but, our body can store up to around 160g. Multiple studies show that creatine does help speed recovery and the growth of lean-muscle mass after a workout. You can start taking creatine at the normal dose of three to five grams per day after a workout. You can even mix it directly with your protein powder, although a lot of protein powders already have creatine in them so make sure to check before spending your cash. Creatine is fairly cheap and you can pick it up in most health shops and some big supermarkets.

Green Tea

We are hearing more about green tea every day and it turns people's heads because it helps fight fat. Animals who are given the extract in studies gain less weight and burn substantially more fat than animals getting a placebo. Green tea has many more benefits than just burning fat, there are now studies taking place that say green tea can help towards curing disease such as cancer.

Tea experts ideally recommend about eight glasses a day or go the easier route and just take a tablet form. Aim for 90 milligrams three times daily. You can get green tea cheap by buying supermarkets own branded tea, but it promises to have a bit of a rough after taste. For those that are a bit fussy, try a flavored green tea at first or pay a little extra for the plain green tea, I find Tetleys green tea is nice.

Fish oils

Fish oils are beneficial for heart disease, joints and also fat burning properties. Take at least one to two grams a day (1000mg-2000mg). Pick these up for cheap at your local superstore.

There are literally thousands of pills you could be popping at any one time. Forget them and get these down you first, these are up there with the best of them and you'll feel the benefits in no time at all.

Great Acupuncture Marketing Tips For Your Acupuncture Clinic

For years now, TCM or traditional Chinese medicine has been practiced not only in Asian countries, but more so today in western countries. Acupuncture, as a form of TCM has grown so much in popularity as a good alternative to people who want to have more natural and non-chemical ways of treatment. If you are a licensed acupuncturist, and would want to take your practice to another level, you should start learning to market your clinic effectively.

Let me share some great Acupuncture Marketing Tips For Your Acupuncture Clinic:

1. Start by putting up your acupuncture site. Use Google local maps for your website listing so every time someone searches for an acupuncturist in your area, they will be provided by a listing and directions to your clinic.

2. You can also make use of traditional advertising. Advertising materials such as business cards, brochures and flyers. Be sure to include your contact details such as phone numbers, email, clinic hours and informative info to your brochures and flyers. Have them ready for hand out in your clinic to your patients. You can also have these handy with you in your pocket, clutch or in your car so that when an opportunity arises, you can easily have them ready to give out.

3. Another good way to advertise and market your acupuncture clinic is by participating in alternative medicine trade fairs. By organizing your booth, you can easily reach out to more people. It's a good opportunity for you to give out infos and consultations on acupuncture. Have your brochures, business cards and flyers ready.

4. Another way to advertise your acupuncture practice and clinic is by organizing an acupuncture snippet. If your finances permit, you could do this. This is a good way to interactively market acupuncture because you get the chance to talk about it at one time to a large audience. You can include a live acupuncture demo too so that people will get a real feel of what it is, and have them see that it's not scary at all.

5. You can extend your practice by connecting with other practicers like physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and occupational therapists within your area or nearby. Who knows some of their patients / clients would want acupuncture treatments and they could refer your expertise and clinic.

So, if you are ready to take your acupuncture practice to the next level, be sure to follow the tips above. It's time to bring in more action to your clinic. Good luck.

The Best Vitamins For Women Over 40 And What Essential Things You Need To Know About It

For any woman approaching middle age, knowing the appropriate vitamins for women over 40 is very important to enable her to live her life to the fullest. Is not it that life begins at 40? The years between 40 and 50 can indeed be the most fun, but this is also the decade when one would face so many challenges. You could be at the peak of your career at this time, and yet you could also be battling stress while trying to juggle work and family life, hormonal imbalances, and the threat of growing old, all of which could affect the way you live your life.

Along with keeping a healthy lifestyle, you need to take the appropriate vitamins for women over 40. At 40, the need to take supplements is very much appreciated, but apparently, you just can not take anything out of your own choosing or those vitamins that are heavily advertised because these may not be what are recommended for your age. All vitamins are good for the body, but there are those that would be more ideal to a specific age group.

For the forty-ish, for instance, Vitamins C and E in the right doses would have more value. These vitamins are very good antioxidants that, according to studies, may decrease the risks for cervical cancer and ovarian cancer. The B-vitamins would also be highly beneficial to women 40 and up as these, too, have been shown to act on the colon and breast cancer cells. The incidence of these types of cancer is greater in women in their 40s, possibly due to some hormonal changes that occurred at this time. These vitamins with antioxidant properties can also make you look younger than you really are. This is because antioxidants work to fight off the free radicals that accelerate the aging process. Free radicals can invade the body through stress, pollution, and foods, but antioxidants can lessen the impact of these.

The pills of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin D, and Vitamin K will be greatly appreciated by women in their 40s. Vitamin A targets the immune system and keeps the eyes healthy; Vitamin E is a beauty vitamin that is necessary for the health of the hair and the skin; Vitamin D improves the absorption of calcium in the body, thereby crucial in the maintenance of bone health, while vitamin K is necessary in blood clotting and blood formation.

Aside from these vitamins, women should also have a healthy dose of minerals, especially calcium which is responsible in bone development and bone health, and magnesium, which works well with calcium and relieves some of the discomforts associated with perimenopause. Zinc, too, should be included in the list of essential minerals as this helps in regulating hormonal imbalances.

Top 15 Reasons to Avoid Low Carb Diets

Low carb (carbohydrate), high protein diets are the latest

dieting craze. However, before you jump on the band wagon,

you may want to consider a few things:

1. Low carb (ketogenic) diets deplete the healthy glycogen

(the storage form of glucose) stores in your muscles and

liver. When you deplete glycogen stores, you also dehydrate,

often causing the scale to drop significantly in the first week

or two of the diet. This is usually interpreted as fat loss when

it’s actually mostly from dehydration and muscle loss. By the

way, this is one of the reasons that low carb diets are so

popular at the moment – there is a quick initial, but deceptive

drop in scale weight.

Glycogenesis (formation of glycogen) occurs in the liver and

muscles when adequate quantities of carbohydrates are

consumed – very little of this happens on a low carb diet.

Glycogenolysis (breakdown of glycogen) occurs when

glycogen is broken down to form glucose for use as fuel.

2. Depletion of muscle glycogen causes you to fatigue easily,

and makes exercise and movement uncomfortable. Research

indicates that muscle fatigue increases in almost direct

proportion to the rate of depletion of muscle glycogen. Bottom

line is that you don’t feel energetic and you exercise and move

less (often without realizing it) which is not good for caloric

expenditure and basal metabolic rate (metabolism).

3. Depletion of muscle glycogen leads to muscle atrophy (loss

of muscle). This happens because muscle glycogen (broken

down to glucose) is the fuel of choice for the muscle during

movement. There is always a fuel mix, but without muscle

glycogen, the muscle fibers that contract, even at rest to

maintain muscle tone, contract less when glycogen is not

immediately available in the muscle. Depletion of muscle

glycogen also causes you to exercise and move less than

normal which leads to muscle loss and the inability to

maintain adequate muscle tone.

Also, in the absence of adequate carbohydrate for fuel,

the body initially uses protein (muscle) and fat. the initial

phase of muscle depletion is rapid, caused by the use of

easily accessed muscle protein for direct metabolism

or for conversion to glucose (gluconeogenesis) for fuel. Eating

excess protein does not prevent this because there is a caloric

When insulin levels are chronically too low as they may

be in very low carb diets, catabolism (breakdown) of

muscle protein increases, and protein synthesis stops.

4. Loss of muscle causes a decrease in your basal metabolic

rate (metabolism). Metabolism happens in the muscle. Less

muscle and muscle tone means a slower metabolism which

means fewer calories burned 24 hours-a-day.

5. Your muscles and skin lack tone and are saggy. Saggy

muscles don’t look good, cause saggy skin, and cause you to

lose a healthy, vibrant look (even if you’ve also lost fat).

6. Some proponents of low carb diets recommend avoiding

carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, potatoes, carrots, etc.

because of they are high on the glycemic index – causing

a sharp rise in insulin. Certain carbohydrates have always

been, and will always be the bad guys: candy, cookies, baked

goods with added sugar, sugared drinks, processed / refined

white breads, pastas, and rice, and any foods with added sugar.

These are not good for health or weight loss.

However, carbohydrates such as fruits, vegetables, legumes,

whole grain breads and pastas, and brown rice are good for

health and weight loss. Just like with proteins and fats, these

carbohydrates should be eaten in moderation. Large volumes

of any proteins, fats or carbohydrates are not conducive to

weight loss and health.

The effect of high glycemic foods is often exaggerated. It’s does

matter, but to a smaller degree than is often portrayed. Also,

the total glycemic effect of foods is influenced by the quantity

of that food that you eat at a sitting. Smaller meals have a lower

overall glycemic effect. Also, we usually eat several types of

food at the same time, thereby reducing the average glycemic

index of the meal, if higher glycemic foods are eaten.

Also, glycemic index values can be misleading because they

are based on a standard 50 grams of carbohydrate consumed.

It wouldn’t take much candy bar to get that, but it would take

four cups of carrots. Do you usually eat four cups of carrots

at a meal?

Regular exercisers and active people also are less effected by

higher glycemic foods because much of the carbohydrate

comsumed is immediately used to replenish glycogen stores in

the liver and muscle.

By the way, if you’re interested in lowering insulin levels,

there is a great way to do that – exercise and activity.

7. Much of the weight loss on a low carb, high protein diet, especially in the first few weeks, is actually because of

dehydration and muscle loss.

8. The percentage of people that re-gain the weight they’ve

lost with most methods of weight loss is high, but it’s even

higher with low carb, high protein diets. This is primarily due

to three factors:

A. You have lost muscle. With that comes a slower

metabolism which means fewer calories are burned 24

hours-a-day. A loss of muscle during the process of losing

weight is almost a guarantee for re-gaining the lost weight,

and more.

B. You re-gain the healthy fluid lost because of glycogen

C. It’s difficult to maintain that type of diet long-term.

D. You have not made a change to a long-term healthy

9. Eating too much fat is just not healthy. I know you’ve

heard of people whose blood levels of cholesterol and

triglycerides have decreased while on a low carb, high

protein diet. This often happens with weight loss, but it

doesn’t continue when you’re on a diet high in fat.

There are literally reams of research over decades that clearly

indicates that an increase in consumption of animal products

and/or saturated fat leads to increased incidence of heart

disease, strokes, gall stones, kidney stones, arthritic

symptoms, certain cancers, etc. For example, in comparing

countries with varying levels of meat consumption, there

is a direct relationship between the volume of meat consumption

in a country and the incidence of digestive cancers (stomach,

intestines, rectal, etc.).

Fat is certainly necessary, and desirable in your diet, but

they should be mostly healthy fats and in moderation.

Manufactured / synthetic “low fat” foods with lots of added

sugar are not the answer. Neither are manufactured / synthetic

“low carb” foods with artificial sweeteners or added fat. By

the way, use of artificial sweeteners has never been shown

to aid in weight loss and they may pose health problems.

According to Dr. Keith-Thomas Ayoob of Albert Einstein

College of Medicine in New York, “In my experience,

unless you’re willing to throw out decades of research,

you cannot ignore that diets chronically high in saturated

fats are linked to heart disease,” Dr. Ayoob is also a

spokesman for the American Dietetic Association

and says that low carb, high protein diets are an attempt

at a quick fix and not a long-term lifestyle change.

10. As someone recently told me, “it must work – people

are losing weight”. People that are truly losing fat on

low carb, high protein diets, are doing so because they

are eating fewer calories – that’s the bottom line. There

is no magic – the same can be done on a healthy diet.

11. Low carb diets are lacking in fiber. Every plant-based

food has some fiber. All animal products have no fiber. A

lack of fiber increases your risk for cancers of the digestive

track (because transit time is lengthened) and cardiovascular

disease (because of fibers effect on fat and cholesterol). It

also puts you at a higher risk for constipation and other bowel

12. Low carb diets lack sufficient quantities of the the many

nutrients / phytonutrients / antioxidants found in fruits,

vegetables, legumes, and whole grains, necessary for health

and aiding in prevention of cancer and heart disease. In fact,

you need these nutrients even more so when you’re consuming

too much fat as is often the case on a low carb high protein diet.

13. Amercans already consume more than twice the amount

of protein needed. Add to that a high protein diet and you

have far too much protein consumption. By the way, most people

don’t realize that all fruits, all vegetables, all whole grains,

and all legumes also contain protein. Animal products contain

larger quantities of protein, but that may not be a good thing.

Excess dietary protein puts you at a higher risk for many health

problems: gout (painful joints from high purine foods which are

usually high protein foods), kidney disease, kidney stones,

osteoporosis (excess dietary protein causes leeching of calcium

from the bones). By the way, countries with lower, healthier

intakes of protein also have a decreased incidence of

14. Low carb, high protein diets cause an unhealthy

physiological state called ketosis, a type of metabolic acidosis.

You may have heard the phrase, “fat burns in the flame of

carbohydrate”. Excess acetyl CoA cannot enter the Krebs

Cycle (you remember the old Krebs Cycle) due to insufficient

OAA. In other words, for fat to burn efficiently and without

production of excess toxic ketones, sufficient carbohydrate

must be available. Ketosis can lead to many health problems

and can be very serious at it’s extreme.

15. Bad breath. Often called “keto breath” or “acetone

breath”, it’s caused by production of acetones in a state of

So why the low carb, high protein craze? I believe there are

several reasons.

A. Weight loss (mostly muscle and muscle fluid) is often

rapid during the first few weeks. This causes people to think

they’re losing fat rapidly.

B. It gives you “permission” to eat the “bad foods”: bacon,

eggs, burgers, steak, cheese, etc., and lots of fat.

C. Many see it as the new “magic” they’ve been looking for,

although it’s been around, in various forms, since the

The good news is that there is a very healthy way to lose

weight, feel energetic, and to greatly increase your chances

of keeping it off. But that’s another article.
