Ten Commandments of Effective Communication

Everything we do is communication. Without communication we will not be able to interact in a civilized manner. Without communication we will not be able to create modern societies. Without communication we would not be able to create prosperity for ourselves. Without communication we would not be able to construct organizations necessary for the reproduction of material wealth. Communication is the most important building block of human civilization. According to the German philosopher Jurgen Habermas the social reality consists of two parts: system and lifeworld. The system consists of the political subsystem and the economic subsystem. The lifeworld consists of the private domain and the public domain. Communication in the system occurs strategically or is based on finding ways to find and refine various methods and techniques to make our lives wealthier and more efficient. Communication in the lifeworld is the opposite; it is based on symmetric relationships between people and is aimed towards finding consensus on many issues facing our social reality. Communication in the lifeworld is truly aimed at finding common grounds between all people involved. For this reason Habermas calls all interaction in the lifeworld communicative rationality.

If communication is so important then this implies a certain competency level in the strategies and tactics of communication possessed by all people irrespective of their education, social background, nationality, and common language. This is unfortunately not true because a large number of people do not have the proper communication skills necessary to become successful. Most of them are simply muddling through their daily lives using basic communication skills which are barely enough to keep their heads above the water. What are actually the characteristics of good communicators? Below are some typical characteristics which good communicators possess:

1. Good communicators pay attention to everything the other person is communicating;

2. Good communicators constantly think about the nature of their messages: they always think about when, where, and how they will deliver their messages;

3. Good communicators always try to find the right combination of words, body language, dress, and tone of voice before sending a message;

4. Good communicators try to avoid using the same words when sending their message to different persons because no one person is identical. Good communicators try to find out what is important for the other person;

5. Good communicators are always ready to be flexible or try to move on after delivering their message by reaching a decision, solving a problem, negotiating a compromise, etc;

6. Good communicators are fully aware of the reciprocal nature of communication which is a process of giving and receiving a message. Good communication is a like a dance which entails leading and following.

Although the above typical characteristics seem to be obvious and easy to understand, many people have difficulties applying them in a consistent manner. Communication is a process which is comparable to driving a car. The more you do it, the better driver you will become. Experience is the best teacher in communication. Moreover, the willingness to learn from your experiences is very important. Of course we make mistakes, but we try to learn from those mistakes and become better next time.

Having explained the above characteristics of good communicators, what are the ten commandments of effective communication?

1. Always try to give feedback based on facts and not on opinions and/or emotions which might upset or offend the other person;

2. Always try to empathize or to see a situation from the other’s point view. Try to accept the other person’s views without preaching and/or moralizing;

3. Criticize using neutral language and tone of voice;

4. Say what you mean without becoming sarcastic;

5. If you want something from others, ask, don’t command;

6. Give the other person a chance to speak, don’t slip into ‘railroading’;

7. Explain why something needs to happen, don’t threaten;

8. Don’t give advice or opinions if people don’t ask for it;

9. Be to the point, avoid vagueness at all cost;

10. Don’t talk down or up to others; avoid diverting the conversation to trivial matters.

Understanding Central Auditory Processing Disorder

In an age when it seems people of every age are constantly walking around with headphones or Bluetooth headsets in their phones, it is not hard to see that hearing properly has become an important part of our culture. For those of us with normal hearing, we make the effort to not expose ourselves to loud sounds and to not go long periods of time with loud headphones in to keep our hearing healthy – but what about those born with difficulty hearing?

We’re all familiar with deafness, the condition that renders individuals fully incapable of hearing. However, a lesser-known condition is one that allows people to hear, but makes it difficult or impossible for them to interpret the sounds that they hear– speech, in particular. This condition is known as Central Auditory Processing Disorder, or CADP. Because it is less common and also because it does not render individuals fully incapable of hearing, it can be a confusing and easy to overlook condition, and so it’s important to be familiar with the symptoms and treatment should it apply to you or someone you know.

In recent years, awareness of Central Auditory Processing Disorder has increased, and childhood diagnosis has become increasingly available and common. Because CAPD makes it extremely difficult for individuals to differentiate between several sounds, it may manifest in ways that make it difficult for children to participate in school.

For example, they may have a difficult time understanding their teacher speaking when their classmates are also conversing and may ask for instructions to be clarified multiple times, leading to frustration or even feelings of inadequacy. For these reasons, signs of the condition may at first appear to be a type of learning deficiency, as children may struggle with tasks such as spelling, reading, and understanding any information presented verbally by their teachers, parents, or peers.

Diagnosis involves a test administered by an audiologist. Though you may recall the “beep” test from childhood, wherein children are required to acknowledge a series of increasingly quiet beeps, this test cannot highlight CAPD, as the condition affects the individual’s ability to differentiate between multiple sounds, not their ability to hear a single sound. Instead, audiologists administer a series of tests that involve overlapping sounds, those which it is most difficult to distinguish.

Diagnosis of Central Auditory Processing Disorder alone may alleviate a great deal of stress in the individual’s life, namely if they are a child and may allow parents to be more patient and understanding with any learning difficulties they may suffer. There are a number of different types of treatments and therapies available for CAPD, some with the use of a computer and some through specific types of therapy. Depending on the severity of the condition and the age at which it is diagnosed, individuals in treatment can recover with moderate to high levels of ability to differentiate and process audio cues.

As with most conditions, the earlier Central Auditory Processing Disorder is diagnosed, the easier it is to treat, and so it is important to be familiar with the signs and treatments of the condition in order to be able to recognize it.

Student Life Troubles

Student life is said to be the best part of human life. When the university life starts a person is then about to enter into practical part of life, a time when people starts knowing the world. This time is delightful and at the same time painful to some extent.

I Have Prostate Cancer – Now What?

Prostate cancer is the leading death among men in America. Like any cancer, early diagnosis is key to survival. There are many treatment options available and they can be a bit confusing. Each has its own benefits and risks and may not be an option for each person. Many treatment options depend on your age, lifestyle, cancer stage, and other medical conditions.

Doctors recommend men over the age of 35 to get regular prostate exams. If the cancer is found early, you will have a much higher chance in winning this battle. This stage of the cancer is considered low risk and is the most easiest to cure.

There are basic treatment options for men with early-stage prostate cancer. This includes radiation therapy and surgery. Men with a more advanced disease will be considered for hormone and chemotherapy. This is used usually for older men. Doctors must provide you with all benefits and risks for all procedures. You as the patient must consent to any treatment given. If you believe the treatment is not the best option, you must suggest other treatment options.

When choosing a provider to treat your prostate cancer, you must consider different factors. You will interact with many different doctors especially during the beginning of your diagnosis. Your general practitioner treats patients for general complaints. When there is a major issue with your health, he or she will refer you to an urologist for examination. Urologists study the reproductive organisms for both male and female. The doctor will decide what the best treatment is for your personal health problems.

Surgery might be the best option for certain men. The cancer will be removed from the prostate before spreading to other organs in the body. This treatment is considered for mostly for youngger patients. Elder patients with the early-stage cancer can receive radiation therapy and achieve the same results as younger men with surgery.

Your doctors will request many tests in order to diagnose you correctly. This may include blood tests, MRI'S, cystoscopy, or CAT scans. These procedures require trained nurses and special equipment. During this stressful time you must choose your doctors carefully. Each doctor will help you in a certain why. You may choose doctors who are located close to each other since you could be seeing multiple doctors a day. Most hospitals in any area are prepared for prostate cancer patients. Men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every day. Technology improves year after year and hospitals are conducting clinical trials and new treatment options. Make sure you choose your providers and facilities carefully. If you are not satisfied for any reason you have the full right to make changes. After all, this is your life that is in danger so choose wisely.

Tips for Good Health in 2018

Worrying about your health and trying to keep your health at its top game are genuine concerns. With the growing concerns and rising stress of our daily lives and work, it becomes hard for most people to spend some time with just themselves to keep their health better. Here are some simple tricks and tips to make your life better:

Drink Water: Drinking enough water is one of the best things to do to fix your health. Most people do not drink enough water, and this is why many bodily functions are not performed as they should be. Take care to drink more water during summers and keep your intake of water at a steady level for winters.

Exercise! Exercising does not only mean hitting the gym. It is recommended that fast pace walking during the days and other methods of mild exercise will keep your body at its fittest. Regular exercising offers many benefits – it not only reduces excess body fat but also allows your body to breathe.

Sleeping Well: Messed up sleep cycles are one of the major causes for a bad health during this generation. Although work and other things are important, the sleep of at least 7 to 8 hours is an absolute requirement for your body. Not sleeping enough can cause undue stress on your body and will increase the release of leptin, which is a hunger-stimulating hormone, making you crave foods now and again. Other than this, sleeping on time and for the requisite amount allows your body to rejuvenate and helps your mind work better.

Healthy Diet: Our fast-paced lives have not only hampered our sleep but have messed up our eating habits as well. Keeping track of what you is the best way to start a healthy living. Switch to greens and berries and try to eat as many fruits as possible. Furthermore, a balanced diet should be taken to keep your health at its prime.

Travel! Just controlling what you are eating and exercising is not enough. Socialising more and traveling from place to place regularly can greatly help to boost your health. This will allow you to get rid of your pent-up stress and will allow you to relax. In some cases, it may even release your body’s happy hormones that will keep you and your mind healthy.

Closing remarks

These are very simple tips to follow. Make sure you adopt a few this year and give your health the boost that it needs.

Lower Blood Pressure Naturally Fast

Lowering blood pressure isn’t limited to drugs. When applied correctly, it can be done even naturally. Basic natural treatments such as lifestyle changes, regular exercise, diet and various relaxation methods such as meditation can have a significant effect.

Robert Schneider, MD, Dean of the College of Maharishi Vedic Medicine at the Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, and the director of the university’s government-sponsored Center for Natural Medicine and Prevention, is excited about meditation and when it comes to treating high blood pressure the advice is “Meditation, not medication,”. This is not the only advice he has but this one is right up at the top of his list.

Dr. R. Schneider has been researching the ancient medical science of Maharishi Vedic medicine for years. He like many other leading medics in the country is worried due to citing statistics from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).

The numbers show that with about 50 million adults in the United States suffer from high blood pressure and this medical condition is serious life treat for any of those patients if left untreated. And the sooner, the better.

The devastating effect of high blood pressure on the body organs is widely discussed in all available forums and media. Heart disease (heart failure, heart attack) and stroke are the first and third leading causes of death, respectively, in the U.S. (Cancer is second.) and hypertension can lead to all of them.

Approximately 600 studies have been conducted worldwide to better understand how meditation, TM, can help lower blood pressure. And surprisingly or not the studies have repeatedly shown that meditation can be effective in easing stress which is one of the major risk factors for developing of cardiovascular problems and stroke.

“TM is a simple mind-body meditation technique that allows you to gain a unique state of restful awareness or alertness,” says Dr. R. Schneider.

Among many other meditative techniques, TM is the only one that has been thoroughly studied and found effective in reducing the risk factor for heart disease.

Although still there is not sufficient information how it exactly works, the researchers suggest that through TM deep rest is achieved which in turn sparks biochemical changes and helps the body and mind reach a more balanced state. Such a more balanced state is triggering the self-repair mechanism of the body.

TM is a simple technique that involves the repetition of the “mantra”, certain word or phrase, while seated relaxed with closed eyes in a quite place and in a comfortable position, for twice a day and 20 minutes a session. E.g. the mantra could be just the repetition of the word ‘Om’.

According to the study led by Dr. Schneider and reported in 1995 in the journal Hypertension, TM technique showed reduction in systolic blood pressure by more than 10 points and diastolic pressure by more than 6….And all that without taking any drugs or medications.

There are many simple techniques that can be used to lower blood pressure gradually to take control of your life again.

The Difference Between Mega and Micro Chiroptera

The term “Chiroptera” is derived from the Greek word “hand-wing” in reference to a bat’s webbed hand-like wings. Chiroptera is the scientific classification of bats. There are thousands of bat species all over the world, but all species can fall under one of two main categories of bat, Micro-Chiroptera and Mega-Chiroptera; colloquially referred to as microbats and megabats. Although related species, these two types are quite different. Continue reading to learn the difference between Megachiroptera and Microchiroptera, and some interesting facts about them as well!

Megabats

Megabats, or Megachiroptera, are also known as fruit bats. This is because, unlike micros, megas primarily eat fruit, the nectars of fruit, or the pollen of flowers and plant-life; like Eucalyptus or fig trees. This diet is the reason why they have such an important ecological role. They assist in pollination of plants and flowers, as well as, seed dispersal through their droppings, which double as a fantastic fertilizer.

The most common and prevalent species of fruit bats are Flying Foxes. As for sight, megabats have a broad visual cortex, allowing them enhanced visual acuity. They have really large eyes that look similar to a human! They also have great smell, and do not use echolocation. They also have furry bellies, big ears, and dog-like facial structures.

Another interesting fact about megas is their ability to control and maintain their body temperature. This eliminates their need to hibernate during the winter and cold seasons. They like to live in large colonies and groups, often times with different species, in the upper canopies of forests and woodlands. They are very nomadic and can travel great distances at night while foraging for food.

Microbats

Microbats, or Microchiroptera, are quite different from megas. They are more solitary, living in smaller colonies of the same species. Although not blind like the myths claim, they do echolocation, a sonar-like ability, to navigate in the dark and hunt for food.

Along with echolocation, Micros have large ears and good hearing that also helps in hunting for food at night. They are much smaller as well, hence the “micro” instead of the “mega”. Some are as small as a moth! They primarily eat insects and small prey like amphibians, birds, and fish; but some species consume the blood of mammals as their food source.

Unlike the megabats, Micro-Chiroptera lack the claw on the toe of their forelimb. This is a common distinction between the two species. They are fur-less and exposed, leading them to seek warm shelter and hibernate for the winter. This is where bats can become a nuisance to home and property owners. Scroll down and look below for more information about this matter and more.

New Nail Fungus Cure

A new nail fungus cure is always a welcome thing. Fungal nail infections, called onychomycosis, have probably been around as long as animals have had nails, claws and horns: a few species of fungi are well adapted to finding nutrients in these materials. Remedies for the problem have been around for a while too, but fungus in a nail is notoriously hard to treat, and remedies, whether they are folk cures or pharmaceuticals, tend to take a long time to work.

Home remedies for nail fungus abound – and so do debts about how well they work. Antifungal drugs are becoming more common but they come with a high price tag and valid concerns about safety: how much drug toxicity are we willing to tolerate to make a nail nail or finger nail look better? A new nail fungus cure that that is affordable, safe, and effective is sorely needed. That is why there is so much interest in a promising relatively product – tea tree nail treatment.

Tea tree nail treatment rests on tea tree oil, an essential oil derived from the tea tree of Australia, Melaleuca alternafolia. Scientific studies investigating the properties of tea tree oil are ingoing, and results already indicate that the plant has valuable antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. It's potential as a new nail fungus cure is already supported by anecdotal evidence, and it is being marketed for this application, sometimes as a pure oil, sometimes in combination with other essential oils.

This new nail fungus cure has other appealing features: research indicates that it is safe to use as a topical (it should not, however, be taken internally as its safety has not been established for that), and it is relatively inexpensive compared to prescription drugs. Tea tree nail treatment does not require a prescription or medical monitoring. The oil is readily available from sources for alternative medicine products and in some pharmacies.

It's still advisable, of course, to have a fungal nail infection properly diagnosed by a medical professional, who can also give professional advice about current treatment options. Self diagnosis can be incorrect, leading to appropriate treatment and prolonged medical problems.

The History of the Martini

The venerable Martini. Perhaps the most famous cocktail, and certainly the mixed drink with the most myths, stories and lore attached. It is also the one cocktail that has a following and its own brand of snobbery. You usually don’t here two people arguing over a Planters Punch.

The basic martini recipe is as simple as you can get. Traditionally, a Martini is made with gin and dry white vermouth, although, recently the Vodka Martini has become much more popular. The standard modern martini is a five parts gin or vodka to one part vermouth although few bartenders today would follow that model. The ingredients are shaken or stirred with ice, strained and served “straight up” without ice in a chilled cocktail glass, and garnished with an olive.

Martini purists are upset that vodka is now the liquor of choice when people order a martini. They insist it should be called a ‘Vodka Martini’ or if they are really picky a ‘Bradford.’

The amount of vermouth to be added is also a subject of great debate. The less vermouth, the drier the Martini. Today the most common was of mixing the vermouth is the coat the ice cubes in vermouth and then throw out the excess vermouth. Some progressive bars now use vermouth spritzers to coat the ice (thus saving a lot of vermouth).

Shaken or stirred?

According to true Martini drinker, because vermouth mixes easily and uniformly with its solvent (gin or vodka), a martini should always be mixed in a stirring glass. For purists, shaking “bruises” the gin and also chips the ice watering down the Martini.

However, thanks to novel and movie spy James Bond, who ordered his Martinis “Shaken, not stirred,” the Martini is more often shaken these days.

Shaken aficionados say, as with scotch, a little water creates a more rounded taste. They also claim the shaking action adds oxygen to the drink and sharpens the taste and distributes the vermouth more evenly.

History

The generally accepted origin of the Martini begins in San Francisco in 1862. A cocktail named after nearby the town of Martinez was served at the Occidental Hotel. People drank at the hotel before taking the evening ferry to Martinez across the bay. The original cocktail consisted of two ounces of Italian “Martini and Rosso” sweet vermouth, one ounce Old Tom sweet gin, two dashes maraschino cherry liquid, one dash bitters, shaken, and served with a twist of lemon. By the end of the 19th century the Martini, had morphed into a simpler form. Two dashes of Orange bitters were mixed with half a jigger of dry French vermouth, and half a jigger of dry English gin, stirred and served with an olive.

But it was Prohibition and the relative ease of illegal gin manufacture that led to the Martini’s rise as the predominant cocktail of the mid 20th century.

With the repeal of Prohibition, and the ready availability of quality gin, the drink became progressively dryer, with less vermouth being added.

The first reference to vodka being used in a Martini was in the 1950s but it was the James Bond novels by Ian Fleming and subsequent films that raised the profile of the vodka martini in the 1960s. In the novel Casino Royale, Bond’s recipe for his “vespa martini” was three parts Gordon’s gin, one part Russian vodka, a half measure of Kina Lillet aperitif, shaken until ice-cold, served with a slice of lemon. By the second Bond novel, Live and Let Die, Bond was drinking conventional vodka Martinis.

In the seventies and eighties the martini was seen as old fashioned and was replaced by more intricate cocktails and wine spritzers. But the mid 1990s saw a resurgence in the drink and an explosion of new versions. These new specialty martinis can be made with combinations of fresh fruit juices, splashes of cream, and brightly colored liqueurs.

Instead of the traditional olive, cocktail onion, or lemon twist, new garnishes such as marinated capers, fresh herbs, coffee beans or sun-dried tomatoes are being used.

Today, the Martini in all its versions has returned to its position as the world’s preeminent cocktail.

Folklore

The Martini comes with its own folklore and many past martini drinker have their own recipes for coming up with the perfect or the driest Martini. The quest for dryness has taken on bizarre proportions.

Winston Churchill’s recipe called for pouring gin into a glass and then simply bowing in the direction of France. Alfred Hitchcock’s recipe called for five parts gin and a quick glance at a bottle of vermouth. Ernest Hemingway liked to order a “Montgomery”, which was a martini mixed at a gin:vermouth ratio of 15:1 the odds at which, allegedly, Field Marshall Montgomery would want before going into battle.

In the 1958 movie Teacher’s Pet, Clark Gable mixes a martini by turning the bottle of vermouth upside-down and then running the moistened cork around the rim of the glass before filling it with gin

The classic seventies TV show MASH took a satirical swipe at this dryness fetish. ‘Hawkeye’ working on his still says to his fellow military doctors “I’m pursuing my lifelong quest for the perfect, the absolutely driest martini to be found in this or any other world. And I think I may have hit upon the perfect formula…You pour six jiggers of gin, and you drink it while staring at a picture of Lorenzo Schwartz, (the inventor of vermouth.)”

Female Erogenous Zones – A Guide to Understanding Her Clitoris, Deep Spot and G-Spot

When a guys first having sex, their knowledge of female anatomy can be quite limited. While our early experiences with pornography enable us to find the clitoris without too much trouble, it takes a little bit of experimenting with a real woman before you can find the G-spot and other erogenous zones. Therefore it is useful to do both: read up on the major erogenous zones so that you know where to find them and to allow yourself a little experimenting to find where the spots actually are.

Female Erogenous Areas

The first one to find is the clitoris. Luckily thanks to guides and the internet, most guys know where it is. Do not worry if you do not it is easily found by going slightly up from the vaginal opening. It should be a visible area of flesh that sticks out slightly from the surrounding flesh.This can be touched in a range of different ways depending on the woman. Some women prefer you to lick and cares the sides of the clitoris, never actually touching the main part. Other women find that this is not enough and prefer direct touching, usually with a little lubrication or saliva to reduce the friction.

Once that has been mastered the next one is usually the perineum. Often this is the forgotten erogenous zone and women will be surprised if you know it. The perineum is found between the vaginal opening and the anal opening. Usually the skin here is slightly darker. This area is usually a bit tougher, so you can usually stroke it before you would stroke her clitoris, so can be a good way to start having sex. It can also be touched without lubrication, but a little lubrication will make it better for her.

Internal Erogenous Zones

The G-spot is one of the most sensual areas to find. Most women describe it as being their favorite place to be touched. It is inside her vagina on the upper wall. Usually the easiest way to find it is to penetrate her with your fingers with the palm facing up, then gently curl your fingers. One area should feel a little different / rougher than the surrounding tissue. This is the G-spot. This spot is great as it gives her massive orgasms and is involved in almost every advanced orgasm including squirting orgasms. Usually the best way to touch it is with this gentle stroking motion, increasing the speed as she comes to orgasm.

There are also other erogenous zones inside the vagina. There is' G-spot'-like area a little deeper in her vagina called the Deep Spot. Many women say that the orgasm is more intense when this area is stroked.

Female Erogenous Zones

Women have a lot of erogenous areas of which these are simply the major ones. By combining the stimulus from a lot of these zones, guys can give their partners an awesome times in bed and also show her that they know how and where to touch a woman: both of which are BIG pluses to women. Once your knowledge of her most erotic areas is combined with great technique, you will soon be the best lover that she has ever had.

4 Proven Techniques to Excite Your Woman Using Manhandling

Women love to be dominated by a man in bed. One technique you can use to excite your partner beyond her wildest dreams is manhandling. By giving her a little pain by physical stimulation, you will be able to maximize her psychological stimulation by making use of manhandling. One thing you can do is when your girl is standing by a door is to slam her back into it. The force of the blow will be distributed through her back, meaning that she won’t feel much pain. As the door will slam shut and make a loud notice, it will excite her even further due to the dominant element.

Another great way is to rip her clothes off. If she wears old panties you can put your hand into it and twist it around to rip it with more ease. Then hold her down with one hand as you rip her panties of with the other. Make sure you’ll pull hard and sidewards so that the force of the rip will go into her hip, instead of any sensitive area. Like slamming her back into a door, this is very dominant.

Another awesome way to convey more dominance is by pulling her hair. In order to use this you need to grab her hair as closest to the roots as possible and pull her head in whatever direction you want. When performed well, women will love this sensation. This is great when you are standing behind her sucking her neck. You can also do this to make her look you in the eyes when having sex which will add more emotion to your lovemaking as well.

Finally, a good way to manhandle your girl is by spanking her. If you two start to play wrestle you can put her over your knee, bring her pants down and spank her hard. As this part of the body has a lot of muscles and fat it’s able to take quite a punishment before it hurts to much. You can spank her any time her ass is exposed.

These are just a couple of examples. Use your creativity and your woman will quickly love how dominant you’ve become.

How Do You Maintain a Healthy Diet? – Great Resources!

There is good reason to keep yourself healthy and fit. The number of overweight and obese people in the world is staggering, and it grows daily. Most of us know that being overweight or obese carries a significant risk for serious diseases, including coronary heart disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Yet despite our knowledge of the health risks, our diets do not seem to change much.

If you, like many others, are asking the common question: how do you maintain a healthy diet, then look no further.

Keep Portions Under Control

You've probably already heard that portion control is critical in maintaining your weight, but it bears repeating. Weight gain occurs when you take in more calories than you burn. It's a simple formula, yet it often gets overlooked. For foodsense in calories, limit your quantities. If you are in a restaurant, eat half of your meal and have the rest wrapped up to go for another meal the next day. Learn to focus on what you are eating so that you do not overeat.

Stick To Whole, Natural Foods

Foods that are not made to last are the best options. When shopping in a grocery store, it's best to choose foods placed along the perimeter of the store, not the center. The foods that are perishable and need refrigeration are usually better for you than the ones with a long shelf-life.

Hydrate Yourself

Water is a key element for weight loss and for keeping your body running smoothly. The proper water intake for an average adult is eight to ten eight-ounce glasses per day. By adhering to this rule, your body will be able to rid itself of impurities and toxins. In addition, when you are properly hydrated, you actually have more energy!

Learn To Love Fruits, Vegetables And Whole Grains

Fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains are healthy in general. Stick to complex carbohydrates, as well as foods high in fiber and low in fat. If you can find organic, local produce you will be stacking the odds for a healthy diet in your favor.

Do not Forget Exercise

A key component of physical well-being is exercise. Without it, your metabolism slows, muscle tone decrees and energy levels plummet. Exercising is also a great way to reduce stress, which is known to increase the risk of being overweight. There are many great exercises to try, but make sure to do a combination of cardiovascular exercise as well as strength training.

Diet Programs

If you already have a few pounds to shed, choose a diet program that suits your needs. Do the research to find one that fits simply into your schedule and lifestyle. If you find a regimen that is easy to stick to, you will increase your chances of success. If you follow the guidelines above, you will no longer need to ask: how do you maintain a healthy diet!
