Today we look at the major differences of animal based versus plant-based protein shakes, as well as offer a bonus selection of natural smoothie recipes in which your chosen protein can be incorporated.
Diet Restrictions & Allergies
A plant-based protein shake is the better option for most people with restrictive diets or food allergies. The exception being those who are allergic to any naturally occurring elements contained within the plant base (like coconut, for example).
A plant-based protein shake is better for those with the following diet restrictions or allergies:
- Celiac, Gluten Intolerance, or Wheat Allergy
- Allergy to Eggs
- Allergy to Milk, or Lactose Intolerance
- Vegetarians, and Vegans
- Calories Restriction for Weight Loss
Humans are naturally designed to eat plants, which means our digestive systems are better able to do this versus animal-based proteins. While meat may be easily digested, humans were never meant to consume the milk of other animals – and are, in fact, the only species that does so. If you want something that is highly digestible, without causing serious stomach issues to do so, you want to opt for proteins which are plant based.
Ease of Mixing
Plant-based protein shakes tend to mix easier, although this does vary based on the exact brand and formula you choose. While a seemingly small benefit, many consumers have expressed frustration at how difficult animal-based protein shakes are to mix.
Bonus: Natural Smoothie Recipes
These natural smoothie recipes work best with a protein powder based on plants, but can be used with animal-based also, if that is what you have decided to use. Each of these makes a perfect breakfast, or healthy dessert which will help those in muscle training programs get their necessary calories each day. Each recipe is suited for two people.

Irritability rears its ugly head when we are feeling disappointed, hurt, angry, let down, or confused. When the new year starts, we make all kinds of plans to improve, get organized, lose weight, build our business and a part of us thinks we will have the stamina and motivation to make real progress. Somewhere around the middle of January, reality sets in and we realize how hard it is to make changes. Then, we can get downright grumpy. Can you refer to this at all? I know I can.
As a therapist, I've learned a few tricks over the years about how to overcome irritability and reclaim a positive outlook. I'll share 10 tips to overcome irritability in this article, both to remind myself and to give you some (possibly new) information to try out.
1. Tell yourself, "Even though I'm feeling _________________ (negative emotion here), I forgive myself and know that this feeling will pass. I will re-focus my attention to just one change I'd like to make and re-think my approach. "
2. Make sure you are getting plenty of Vitamin D – if you can not get it through sunshine (January is notoriously gloomy in some climates) – talk to your doctor or nutritionist about supplementing with Vitamin D3. There is a wealth of research that shows many more people are deficient in Vitamin D (the happy vitamin) than we would suppose.
3. Stop what you are doing and list 10 things you are grateful for – out loud. Get creative – pick things that you really have to notice and think about. Example: "I'm grateful for warm showers, deep breathing, the way the sunlight glints through the crystal hanging from my rear-view mirror, the sound of my cat purring, the jokes my nine-year old told me this morning, etc ".
4. Swap negative thoughts for more truthful thoughts. When we get irritable or down, chances are our thoughts are telling us something negative and not entirely truthful. Analyze the thoughts going through your head, and notice if there are cognitive distortions (all or nothing thinking, fortune-telling, catastrophizing, etc.) – then re-frame the thought without the distortion.
5. Breathe very deeply through the nose (important) 4 or 5 times. Breathing deeply through the nose brings cooling oxygen to the limbic system of the brain which calms the neural activity in this emotional center of the brain. As you inhale, imagine a beautiful color of blue coming in and spreading through your whole body and mind and as you exhale, imagine your body and mind is letting go of all stress and tension.
6. Pet your pet. Petting your cat or dog (or hamster or mouse?) Has been shown to lower blood pressure, soothe nerves, and bringing a sense of contentment.
7. Have you been somewhat isolated? Pick up the phone or go out and talk to someone. We need conversation, human touch, and eye-to-eye contact with people to remain healthy.
8. Smile. It sounds so simple and yet it is substantial. The nerve endings in your face talk to your brain and when you smile, your brain thinks "oh, we must be happy" and then your brain seeks to make this reality.
9. Pray. Meditation, mindfulness, and prayer are all ways to connect your spirit with God's Spirit. Prayer changes things (prayer changes us).
10. Dance. Wherever you are, you can find a spot (go into the bathroom and close the door if you must) to dance around. The activity gets blood pumping and the silliness of dancing a jig in the middle of the day can make you giggle. Giggling is the perfect antidote to irritability
Are you annoyed and embarrassed about your moles, skin tags and warts? If you have no time or money to spare for clinical treatment, you can perform home treatment to remove these ugly objects from your skin. There are safe do-it-yourself mole removal tricks which can yield satisfactory results at a reasonable time frame.
The first thing to do is to identify if your mole are normal or benign growths from the skin. A benign mole has even shapes, edges and coloration while a malignant mole has rough edges and spreading coloration. On the other hand, a normal skin tag usually has a thin “stalk.” Its full length, when stretched, should not exceed half of an inch. If your skin growths are abnormal, it is best to consult dermatologists before home mole and skin tag removal.
A popular way to remove it is to cut them off. It involves little pain with a few drops of blood, but it is the fastest home treatment. Hold the head of the tag and cut at the lower part of the stem from the skin. You can use small scissors but it is more convenient to use a nail clipper. However, you must sterilize the scissor or clipper before cutting. Also prepare some cotton balls and alcohol.
Another mole removal technique is to cut off the blood supply to the skin growth. For tags, you can tightly tie a string or dental floss around the stem. You may need assistance from someone else to tie the string. Usually, the skin tag will dry and die after 1 to 2 days. Contrary to popular belief, this method is safe and it poses very little chances of infection.
Mole and skin tag removal can also be done by “suffocating” or dehydrating the skin growth. You must prepare a thick mixture of castor oil and soda. The paste must be applied on the skin tag about 2-3 times a day. The skin tag or mole will eventually dry out, die and fall off. This may take a while but it is the least invasive home procedure.
Days are getting longer and the weather is getting warmer. Spring has sprung in many parts of the country. Say goodbye to old man winter and start thinking spring sports. The soccer, baseball and lacrosse leagues are having their first games; the high-school track team is geared up for competition, and The Leukemia Society's Team-in-Training groups are just starting to increase their mileage aiming for an early summer marathon finish. Spring is in the air, and our old friend the ankle sprain is starting to show up more frequently in the office. Basketball and volleyball seasons are always the main producer of this injury; but you would probably be surprised how many ankle sprains occur in outdoor sports like soccer, baseball, lacrosse and of course track and field. Ankle sprains have been reported to be approximately 20% of all sports injuries with more than 25,000 occurring every day in the United States.
Uneven, wet fields coupled with early season fatigue and competitive full-contact intensity equal injuries. The ankle is the joint that compensates for uneven surfaces. Failure to compensate for uneven footing causes many sprains, which account for 85% of ankle injuries. Jumping, cutting, and pivoting put the ankle at risk. Inadequate rehabilitation of an injury places many athletes at further risk by decreasing their inherent adaptive ability to uneven surfaces or sudden changes in direction. The use of narrow cleats with minimal arch support or the use of running shoes for a court sport can also place an athlete at risk for ankle sprains.
Ankle sprains occur in runners mainly because they are chatting away as they are on a long run and are simply not paying attention. How often do you see a runner fall just because they fall of the curve or in a hole while running? Lots … Pay attention to where you are going and you can prevent this type of injury. If you know you are a klutz, run on an even surface, like a track, when you are tired or distracted.
If you have an ankle sprain, you should be evaluated by a sports medicine podiatric foot and ankle surgeon if you have localized pain, swelling and bruising, as well as accessibility to walk more than 5-7 steps comfortably. Many a foot fracture has been missed in the emergency room when x-rays were taken only of the ankle and not the foot. The foot should also be evaluated due to the number of undiagnosed fifth metatarsal fractures that occurs with many ankle sprains. In severe ankle sprains, an MRI is needed to evaluate the grade of the injury. This is really what decides whether surgery is needed for full recovery.
The severity of an injury and proper treatment can only be determined by your doctor. Initial treatment always includes "RICE" therapy – Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatories) are often utilized to reduce pain and edema. Bracing or casting coupled with non-weightbearing on crutches may be needed in more severe injuries to rest and stabilize the ankle while it heals. Stabilizing the joint and pain-free full range of motion (ROM) is the goal. Surgery is only recommended in Grade 3 severe injuries in athletes or in those patients who have had multiple ankle sprains and suffer from chronic ankle instability. Long-term ankle instability can often be avoided with an aggressive physical therapy program. Bracing should only be used in the short-term during rehabilitation because long-term bracing actually causes atrophy and reduced ROM.
Physical therapy is needed for all ankle sprains. The goals of physical therapy should be to regain full ROM, strength and proprioception (where your brain thinks your ankle is in space). Regaining strength in the peroneal tendons as well as overall balance training are the keys to successful rehabilitation of an ankle sprain. A maintenance program of ankle strengthening, stretching, and proprioceptive exercises helps to reduce the risk of future ankle sprains, particularly in individuals with a history of multiple ankle sprains or of chronic instability.
Bottom line: if you happen to fall down and go "Boom", have your ankle sprain evaluated by a podiatric foot and ankle surgeon. Delaying treatment and rehabilitation can lead to life-long instability.
Are you the kind of person who can bump a corner of the coffee table and know that you'll have a whopper of a bruise tomorrow? Are you afraid of your neighbor's dog jumping on you because you'll have marks to show for it? Do you frequently sport some big bruises and do not know where they came from? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then you're an easy bruiser.
Bruising at the drop of a hat is the result of fragile blood vessels, and can come from a number of underlying causes. In Chinese medicine, easy bruising is a sign that your body's holding function is weak.
Your Chinese Spleen is responsible for digesting the food you eat and converting it into energy, blood, and nutrients. A secondary function of your Spleen is to hold things in place, including holding blood in the vessels. Other signs that your body is not holding things well are chronic diarrhea, frequent miscarriages, heavy menstrual periods and prolapsed (falling) organs, like your uterus or bladder. From a Chinese perspective, strengthening your Spleen can be accomplished through acupuncture, herbal formulas, and dietary modifications.
From a more Western perspective, easy bruising may be due to a vitamin or mineral deficiency. The most common deficiencies involved in weak or fragile blood vessels are Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and copper.
One of the functions of Vitamin C is to help build collagen, which is important in holding body structures together, including connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments. If you are deficient in Vitamin C, the ability of collagen to hold the connective tissue around your blood vessels may be impaired, allowing them to rupture and bruise more easily. Good food sources of Vitamin C include most dark vegetables such as broccoli, kale, collard or turnip greens, and red or green peppers.
Another nutrient that plays a role in the synthesis of collagen is the copper. Copper is a trace mineral found in oysters, most nuts and legumes (peas and beans). A deficiency in copper can also be an underlying cause of easy bruising.
Vitamin K can also be a player if you're a bruiser, however it's role is different than that of copper or vitamin C. Vitamin K is important in making clotting factors, which are components necessary to stop bleeding and facilitating clotting. Like Vitamin C, Vitamin K is found in dark leafy vegetables. One word of caution, however, Vitamin K can alter the effects of Coumadin or Warfarin, so if you're taking either of those anti-clotting medications, steer clear of supplementing Vitamin K or taking any herbal formulas.
Many over the counter pain relievers, such as Ibuprofen (Advil), Naproxen (Alleve), and aspirin (but not Tylenol), can also have an affect on bleeding. These medications make your platelets (necessary in clotting, too) less sticky and therefore less prone to clotting. This is a good thing if you are at risk for cardiovascular disease or stroke, but taking these pain relievers for a period of time can make you more likely to bruise.
Internal hemorrhoids are those that affect the inside of the canal. Internal hemorrhoids may be caused by a number of reasons such as; inadequate roughage in one's diet, diseases like dysentery, natural ie as a consequence of man's normal erect post or it can as well be inherited.
Internal hemorrhoids can be registered by a number of obvious signs. To discover this affliction early; watch out for; bleeding when passing stool and other signs like pain, mucous removal and a general loss of blood. Internal hemorrhoids treatment consists of a number of treatments and options that you can choose from.
To begin with, a patient may be put on Injection. Even though it may at first seem tiring, injection offers another safer way to faster treatment of internal hemorrhoids. The advantage of the injection is that it has successfully treated other hemorrhoid types effectively and is proven to work quite well. It gives you one good alternative in the treatment of hemorrhoid. Although you still have other options, it is better to try the ones that work best first.
Another method of internal hemorrhoids treatment is the Rubber band ligation. It can treat hemorrhoids that are far advanced and save you the agony that comes with this illness. Whether discovered early or late, this method works perfectly well with any type of hemorrhoid. It is invasive though and may prove inconvenient to a patient.
Cryosurgery comes in handy if you have discovered hemorrhoid affliction early. It is a good way to kill the disease in its infant stages. It is not complicated either and offers a quick fix for hemorrhoids. However, woe unto you if you discovered your hemorrhoid affliction late. This type of surgery may not help you at all.
But do not worry as yet. Still for the ones whose afflictions were discovered late, Hemorroidectomy offers you a sure way to get out of your affliction. This operative procedure can heal the most advanced of hemorrhoids and save you the agony. All you have to do is go to the physician and have them removed via this operation.
A person gets a duodenal ulcer when the duodenum in the stomach is affected by the H. pylori bacteria. One of the ways to get treatment is by taking a course approximately 1-2 months in duration that provides you with certain medications or other methods to lower the production of acid in your stomach. An additional week may be necessary during which the patient will take medication along with antibiotics in order to lower acid levels. Doing so will rid of the H. pylori bacteria from the duodenum. This treatment is also issued so that the ulcers do not return.
What Are The Causes?
Knowing about duodenal ulcers and their causes is important. Acid is produced by the stomach to assist with food digestion and bacterial removal. However, this acid can also destroy the stomach lining and the duodenum if an excess amount is produced. Once this lining is damaged, it forms a duodenal ulcer.
Another cause that is much more uncommon is the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Once again, stomach acid is produced in excess but other factors such as alcohol abuse, smoking, and stress contribute towards the development of these ulcers.
The symptoms are often associated with upper abdominal pain and pain under the breastbone. This pain only appears periodically. You may even feel pain before eating or sometimes when you become hungry. One way of getting rid of the pain is to eat, while another is to take antacids.
Vomiting, bloating, and nausea are additional symptoms. In some cases, food consumption leads to pain. What you should also know is that serious complications can arise from a duodenal ulcer such as bleeding ulcers. The duodenum wall can also suffer from perforation, causing severe pain that requires patient to get medical attention immediately.
Surgery was often used as a means of treating these ulcers. However, once it was found that H. pylori bacteria was causing this condition most of the time, acid-suppressing medications suddenly had been the preferred treatment.
The number of people getting diagnosed with ulcers is steadily growing. Implementing the right duodenal ulcer diet is one way of slowing down the condition while also helping the medication you are taking to be more effective. Any beverages or foods that raise the amount of acid in the stomach are to be avoided when planning such a diet.
Tell chronic sinus problems good-by. You’ve had it with that vicious cycle of one antibiotic after another that only leaves your sinuses set up for another infection and more misery. Discover the hidden causes of sinusitis and you’re well on your way to overcoming those miserable sinus problems.
Are you ready to break out of this vicious cycle? Are you willing to look at the hidden causes of your sinus problems instead of just treating the symptoms?
In over 25 years of treating and counseling patients in the holistic, natural approach of dealing with chronic health issues like sinus problems, I have found these 3 main mysterious culprits behind most chronic health problems:
Poor nutrition leading to toxic tissues and nutritional deficiencies
Overgrowth of unfriendly organisms in the affected tissues (dysbiosis)
Let’s look at each of these culprits.
Most of us have become more aware of the lack of nutritional quality in many of the products in our supply of food. Basically, any kind of processing of food devitalizes it and makes it into “death food”. Unfortunately we die a slow painful death when we’re so deceived that we eat this death food. This damaged tissue may go undetected until a very significant disease develops.
Sinuses are tissues fed by what we choose to put in our mouths. Processed, sugary food, made with bad fats, does not nourish us and actually makes our tissues toxic. The body cannot build and repair itself with poor building materials.
So I congratulate you on your quest to heal your sinuses. Eat fresh whole foods, emphasizing more vegetables in your meals, whole grains and good sources of protein. If unfriendly organisms have not gained a foot hold in your sinuses or other parts of your body, then you may be able to also include two small servings of fresh, whole fruit and some nuts and seeds in your healthy eating plan.
Unfortunately most folks have no idea about how much toxicity has accumulated in their tissues. With all of the air, water and food pollution, we gradually build up toxic metals and chemicals in our bodies. However, detecting the level of toxicity can be difficult, so even doctors in general do not know how to detect the level of toxins in the tissues.
Our blood quickly dumps toxic substances into our tissues to keep them from accumulating in the vital organs. Therefore, blood tests do not reveal the toxins. So it sticks lead in the bones, or mercury in the brain or sinuses or heart. And the other toxic metals (cadmium, nickel and aluminum) get stuck in the organs too along with toxic chemicals.
Anyone who has ever smoked or lived with a smoker has filtered a tremendous load of toxic metals and very toxic chemicals out through their sinuses. Obviously, a smoker must stop smoking if s/he ever expects to heal those poor overloaded sinuses.
Chlorella, an alga, helps remove toxins from the tissues. You can find it at health food stores.
Chelation removes heavy metals faster. Consult a health care practitioner well versed in heavy metal detoxification to help you dump your toxic load faster.
When our tissues become a toxic dump from poor nutrition and toxic metal and chemical accumulation, the unfriendly organisms overgrow like crazy. Then every time you have to take an antibiotic for another “sinus infection”, it kills off more of the good guys that hold the unfriendly guys in check. Consequently the dysbiosis (imbalance in organisms in the sinuses or other parts of the body) gets even worse.
Want to break out of this vicious cycle?
Then stop feeding the bad guys. They love sugary food and other junk food. Eat healthy meat, vegetables and non-gluten grains to starve these guys out. Eat the healthy organisms known as probiotics. Those bad critters flee from healthy tissues.
To understand more about dysbiosis, review information about Candida or candidiasis, the yeast that overgrows in these toxic situations. Actually, it’s a myriad of yeast and unfriendly organisms that overgrow, but the emphasis in the literature has been directed at Candida. That’s OK because the healthy things that you do to get rid of Candida helps get rid of the other bad guys too.
By the way, the Candida problems may not clear up until you detoxify the heavy metals and toxic chemicals. Find a health care practitioner well versed in toxicity and dysbiosis. S/he can help you with these two stubborn issues that may be keeping your sinus problems from healing.
As you implement healthy eating habits and get rid of the toxins and unfriendly critters, you will be delighted that your overall health, energy and joy of living will improve along with clearing your sinus problems.
You probably already know that lung cancer is the number one cancer killer. But do you know what type of cancer is number two? It's colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer causes more than 650,000 deaths worldwide every year. You may find this hard to believe, but colon cancer actually starts from very tiny and humble beginnings. Small masses of cells called polyps begin to grow in your colon. By themselves, they represent no real danger. But over a period of five to 10 years, it's possible for these polyps to become cancerous. So you can begin to see why colon health is so important.
Cancer is the result when the normal growth and division of cells in your body gets out of control. When you think about it, the cells are really quite miraculous. Your entire body is made up of cells, and they tend to grow, divide and generally take care of themselves without any conscious input from you. But sometimes things go awry. Instead of growing new cells as and when needed, cancerous growth continues when there is no need for new cells.
In your colon, this extra growth may initially take the form of small polyps. The mere existence of polyps in your colon does not mean that you have colon cancer. But there is a very good chance that over a period of years, one or more of these polyps could become cancerous. Because there are no symptoms at the beginning, the only way to detect polyps is with a test called a colonoscopy.
Colonoscopy uses a tiny camera on a flexible fiber-optic cable. After some sedation and some lubrication, the camera is inserted into your rectum and threaded up through your lower intestine. The colonoscopy operator and the doctor were able to view the inside of your intestine in real time and search for any abnormalities. The process sounds both embarrassing and painful, but colonoscopy is absolutely essential to maintain good colon health, especially if you are at risk for colorectal cancer. Age is the greatest risk factor. About 90% of all cases of colorectal cancer occur in people over the age of 50.
During the colonoscopy, if your doctor discovers any polyps in your colon, he may take a small sample to determine if they are cancerous. In some cases, your doctor may remove the entire polyp during the colonoscopy. There's no cause for immediate alarm even if your doctor does discover polyps in your colon. There are actually several different kinds of polyps and not all of them are at risk for becoming cancerous. Adenomas are the polyps with the greatest risk for becoming cancerous and are often removed as soon as they are found. Once again, if you have a colonoscopy and your doctor discovers the presence of polyps, stay calm. Polyps in the colon, even adenomas, are actually quite common and are routinially found and removed in colonoscopies.
Can a regular colon detox prevent the formation of precancerous polyps? Although no definitive link is being established by clinical research, regular colon cleansing could help you avoid development of polyps. One of the risk factors for colorectal cancer is incomplete emptying of your colon. By paying more attention to colon health and performing a regular colon detox, it's possible for you to be lower your risk of developing dangerous precancerous polyps.
Another risk factor for colorectal cancer is inactivity. When your lifestyle is characterized by lack of activity, waste actually stays in your colon longer. The slow movement and build up of waste in your colon could lead to negative colon health outcomes.
Low fiber, high fat diets have also been implicated in the development of polyps and consequent growth of colon cancer. Changing your diet and lifestyle could lead to a dramatic improvement in your colon health. By filling your diet with fiber-rich foods and cutting back on fatty foods, you will be greatly lowering your risk for the development of colon cancer. As you start out on this new diet and lifestyle, you may wish to try a colon cleanse and complete colon detox. This will facilitate the emptying of your colon and accelerate your progress towards overall wellness.
Alternative medicine for fibroids has been used by herbalists for many centuries of years and like alternative treatments for all manner of conditions, is enjoying a resurgence in popularity. Until recently, doctors were all too quick to perform a hysterectomy to get rid of fibroids but it is in now realized that this is very rarely the best treatment and can have side effects which are as bad as, if not worse, that the fibroids themselves.
Other surgical treatments for fibroids are rarely successful. Removing the individual fibroids is all well and good if you can stop new ones growing. Unfortunately, once doctors have performed the surgery, women are very rarely given any advice which will help them prevent regrowth.
Alternative medicine for fibroids typically consist of herbal preparations which can be taken which are widely believed to be beneficial for shrinking fibroids. With some medical conditions, it would not necessarily be advisable to try alternative treatment methods as delaying conventional medicine could prove dangerous. As fibroids are very rare life-threatening, once you have received a diagnosis, trying alternative treatments is most certainly worthwhile as it has been proven that fibroids respond very well to natural treatments.
If left untreated, fibroid symptoms will very rarely disappear and will persist until the menopause. The symptoms will usually become more severe as the fibroids typically increase in size and it is sensible to treat the fibroids before they become so large that they are causing unbearable symptoms. Having said this, natural treatments can be successfully used to shrink even large fibroids.
When looking at herbal remedies which can be used to treat fibroids naturally, it is important that you take into account your own individual circumstances as treatments often consist of multiple ingredients which as combined to make the best treatment for you. For example, if you carry excess weight and you have excess estrogen because of this, you may require a different combination of ingredients to someone who has an inflammatory condition which is believed to aggravate fibroids.
Herbs Commonly Used As Alternative Medicine For Fibroids
* Spica Prunellae
* Concha Ostreae
* Rhizoma Sparganii
* Herba Dendrobii
* Semen Litchi
* Rhizoma Zedoariae
* Rhizoma Cyperi
* Fructus Corni
Instead of crying over the pain of having an ovarian cyst, why do not you do something about it? You do not have to wait on a doctor to tell you what form of treatment is best. You need to take your health into your own hands and do something about it.
As of recent, people are becoming more interested in homeopathic remedies for ovarian cysts for one simple reason- they work. Knowing your body to heal naturally and without you filling up your body with mindless medicines, you will be able to get faster results with long term relief. Would not it be nice to get rid of a cyst for good and never have to worry about getting one again? Now is the time that you made that happen.
You need some homeopathic remedies for ovarian cysts so you can treat the problem today. You want some solutions that will work instantly so you can get the pain relief that you have always wanted. Today is the first day of treatment for you and you are going to feel some relief by the end of the day.
The first remedy for your cyst is to stop doing things that are irritating it. You may not have been aware of it, but your habits and your diet choices can actually be very harmful to the cyst. If you are drinking a lot of coffee still, that has a very negative effect on the cyst. Instead, tea is a much better alternative and there are even some teas, such as chamomile that have been shown to actually begin the breakdown process of the cyst.
A great homeopathic form of treatment is to get at the cyst from within. You can not penetrate the cyst from the skin; you have to work from within your body. The best way to do this is to make sure that your immune system is nice and strong. With a strong immune system, you will be able to fight the cyst from within. When your body's immune system is very strong, you can get the relief that you are looking for because your body will start to attack the cyst. This is very beneficial to your body. Plus, the stronger your immune system is, the less the chances are you getting another cyst in the future.
When the pain becomes unbearable, there are things that can be done such as icing the area. Applying ice to your lower abdomen can allow the coolness to penetrate deep within the tissues so you can get the relief that you are looking for.
Do not allow this pain to take over your life anymore. Allow these homeopathic treatments to work for you.
One of the most disturbing things to cope with on the arrival of a newborn baby is the discomfort or danger caused to him by colic, thrush or diarrhoea.
These seemingly different symptoms may indeed have a common root cause, and are often pervalent where the child is a "Caesar baby."
When a baby is in the womb, his intestinal tract is sterile, that is, uninhabited by the 400 to 500 odd species of bacteria which co-exist in the adult digestive tract. Of these bacteria, some are essential for health, assisting in the breakdown of foodstuffs, the production of certain vitamins and the domination and control of harmful bacteria.
In the case of an infant digestive tract, Bifidobacterium Infantis is a friendly little critter producing an enzyme that splits milk sugar (lactose) helping the baby to digest it so reducing the potential of lactose intolerance development. It also enhances the absorption of nutrients like calcium and stimulates the immune system among other things.
The question is, where do these bacteria come from between the time the infant is in the womb with no gut bacteria and when he takes his first feed? They are not in the mother's milk.
The answer is that they enter the infant's mouth during the passage down the birth canal in the case of a natural birth, the birth canal containing similar beneficial bacteria to those found in the intestinal tract amongst the many others. These tend to thrive on mothers milk and so the most desirable bacteria soon make up about 99% of the mix inside the baby's gut.
This poses two questions:
Where does a baby born by caesarean section get intestinal bacteria from?
What happens if the mother has vaginal yeast or other infections prior to a natural birth?
A baby born by caesarean section picks up his first bacteria from his surroundings, and the operating theater tend to have a mixture of the stubborn ones we would rather be without. The baby is then moved to a ward where he / she picks up whatever is going from sheets, clothing, mom and relatives.
This is a recipe for digestive problems, often leading to colic, diarrhoea and it may result in a very dangerous situation especially where a baby is fed with formula which does not stimulate the growth of the right bacteria. This can lead to a more alkaline Ph in his digestive tract which is more favorable to harmful bacteria than it should be.
This is certainly a bad start to life.
If the mother has a yeast infection, it can easily transfer to the baby causing oral thrush as well as a nappy rash.
These conditions can be and are best deal with very quickly to prevent long-term complications and allergies for the baby and unnecessary anxiety and exhaustion on the mother's part.
A baby who screams in pain for half an hour or more after every feed certainly traumatises the mother, especially a first time mom. More to the point, it is a wretched situation for the little one.
Fortunately, supplements of beneficial bacteria can be taken from day one to quickly begin the process of building a healthy gut for life and keeping sickness at bay.
Hepatitis is a disease taking on many forms which feature inflammation of the liver. The cause is depended on the prognosis and on the symptoms shown. Certain forms of hepatitis are unable to reveal many signs or symptoms and are only noticeable when the longstanding infection has led to the replacement of liver cells by connective tissue. General symptoms of hepatitis are not noticed by fever, enlarged liver, abdominal pain, and jaundice (icterus).
Viral infections are the cause of most acute hepatitis [http://www.hepatitisattack.com]. Hepatitis comes in 7 not so delicious flavors: Hepatitis A, B, C, D – Agent (which requires the presence of the hepatitis B virus to form), Hepatitis E, F, and G. None of these are very yummy, and should be avoided at all costs.
The most common of the 7 is Hepatitis A. It is transmitted through the orofecal route, or in other words, contaminated food. This one is the easiest to contract, but it does not reach a chronic stage, so the body is able to build up an immunity against it by creating antibodies.
