Causes of Heart Attack: Atherosclerosis, and How to Beat It

Are you an average American? If so, you will die of cardiovascular disease. Usually, a heart attack is the culprit. If you are average, you do not wish to die early, you do not wish to live a life that is limited by disease, you do not wish to spend huge amounts of your family income and assets on heart attack care, and you do wish to see your children grow up. I think you can have your wishes. Read on.

Though there are several causes of heart attack, one stands out as a huge factor. Atherosclerosis is commonly thought of as hardening of the arteries. More accurately, the inside surface of the artery builds up with plaque. This substance contributes to the inability of the artery to allow enough blood to flow through it to provide oxygen to our tissues. When it happens in a heart artery it can be deadly. This plaque can lead to blood clots that suddenly stop up the artery carrying oxygen to the heart muscle. The result can be the death of part of the heart muscle also known as heart attack. Americans die of heart disease more that any other problem according to the Center for Disease Control.

But why does this happen and what can be done about it?

Commonly listed causes are: free radicals, saturated fats, and other factors directly resulting from poor diet as well as a lack of proper exercise. Let us start with proper exercise. We want to know why we must drag ourselves from in front of the TV and outside or to the gym to exercise.

There are at least two good answers:

  1. Aerobic exercise increases how much oxygen deprivation our heart can stand without going into heart pain and heart attack. Ask a health care professional familiar with your physical condition before attacking this too ambitiously, but do attack it.
  2. Aerobic exercise increases the flexibility of the blood vessels which lessen the likelihood of heart attack.

If you want to live a lifestyle that does not include a heart attack this is a great place to start. I did mention free radicals, saturated fats, and other factors directly resulting from poor diet.

Poor nutrition is completely addressed by the Mucusless Diet. If you would like to know more about this diet, type “Jim Spalding and Mucusless Diet” into the search engine on the internet and you should be able to find information that has been placed there for you. To dramatically show what poor diet does to the average American, a couple of reporters from ABC were tested at Cardiologist Robert Vogel’s lab both before and after subjecting themselves to what many would think was a great meal. This included: 3 course lunch, bacon cheeseburger wrapped in quesadilla, deep-fried macaroni and cheese appetizer, and a giant cookie smothered in ice-cream. (More than 6000 calories and 187 Grams saturated fat).

What was the result? 2 hours later….

  • Blood discolored with fat
  • narrowed arteries struggled to keep blood flowing because of impaired endothelial function

This is just from ONE meal! Think about a regular lifestyle of this type of food. Does it sound familiar? Is it any wonder that we Americans die mainly of cardiovascular disease? You should watch the video of the report for yourself at . Diet is the second method you have to beat this and stay out of the ER.

Diet and exercise are very good. If you want to aggressively pursue this monster called heart attack, then cleansing and herbal aids are for you. What is cleansing? This is using normal body channels of elimination to rid our systems of noxious poisons and harmful substances so that they stop killing us. One wonderful and effective example is the Three Day Juice Cleanse. For instructions, please refer to my blog site.

Next are herbal aids. These would include:

  • Cayenne to open up and rebuild the blood vessels and prevent heart attack
  • Apple Cider Vinegar to help remove the built-up plaque from arteries
  • A blood circulation formula that includes ginger, cayenne, goldenseal, ginseng, parsley, and garlic.
  • Hawthorne Berry syrup (if you already have had heart attack)

Do not be average! Do not let the cardiovascular disease problem of heart attack by atherosclerosis kill you. Watch your children grow up. Use Diet, Exercise, Cleansing, and Herbal Aids to beat this killer of Americans. For more precise information on using these procedures, please contact me through my blog site listed below.

Heart Attacks – Some Causes and Symptoms

Heart attacks occur when there is a shortage of oxygen to the heart. Oxygen is supplied to the heart by blood which flows through arteries that cover the surface of the heart. These are called coronary arteries. Cholesterol can build up in these arteries. This buildup is called plaque and it causes the arteries to become narrower which consequently causes a reduction in the flow of blood to the heart. Hence the heart begins to develop pain due to the lack of oxygen available. This pain is referred to as angina. Sometimes a blood clot can form inside the blood vessel and block the flow of blood. When that happens the heart loses its supply of oxygen and the muscle (which is what the heart really is) begins to die.

There are risk factors involved in the possibility of someone having a heart attack. If heart attacks run in the family you are considered more at risk. This is considered a hereditary risk. Smoking increases the risk of a heart attack as does high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Also being overweight or having diabetes increases the risk. All of these factors except heredity can be dealt with through medical intervention.

Other factors can also cause a heart attack, such as:

– The use of cocaine may cause the heart to spasm and cause a heart attack

– Anemia is a lack of red blood cells. It can be caused by the bone marrow not producing enough of them or is may simply be that there is a large amount of bleeding somewhere in the body. Either way, since red blood cells are what deliver oxygen to the heart, anemia could cause a heart attack. Also, failure of the lungs to breathe could cause an attack as this would cause a toxic amount of carbon dioxide to be in the blood thereby reducing the amount of oxygen.

Symptoms of a heart attack might be a pain in the chest (most common) along with difficulty breathing. Also severe sweating and sometimes nausea may be present. As people get older it is more likely for them to have an attack and not even know it. Sometimes their indicators are so mild it is easily passed off as nothing to be alarmed about and the evidence that an attack occurred my not present itself until a doctor does a test for something altogether different and finds out there had been a prior attack.

If you suspect you might be having a heart attack the best thing you can do right away is call 911 as the emergency technicians who arrive will be able to start some form of treatment immediately. The sooner you get help, the better the chances that any damage can be contained. Also, taking an aspirin will cause your blood to thin and the heart won’t have to work as hard to keep it flowing. The blood will more easily pass through the area of the heart that is suffering from lack of oxygen and thereby help provide more oxygen until medical intervention can be obtained. And until help arrives, be sure to take it easy and lie down. You definitely do not want to make your heart have to work anymore than necessary at this point. Additional strain might cause further damage or at worst, be fatal.

The best way to prevent an attack is by maintaining a healthy life style through regular exercise and a healthy diet.

Fenugreek – Fights Diabetes, Heart Disease, Obesity

Although fenugreek seeds are used extensively in the recipes of countries in the Middle and Far East, in the West it is not as well known as many other spices.

Not only does fenugreek impart a characteristic flavour and tang to food but it also has several very important disease preventing characteristics.

In traditional medicine, fenugreek has been used to treat a number of conditions including diabetes, sore throats, and in poultices used to treat sores and abscesses. Recent investigations into the medicinal properties of this spice suggest it is important not only as a preventive for chronic diseases such as diabetes, but also for enhancing normal physiological processes, especially with respect to athletic

As with most spices it contains many antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds such as apigenin,

genistein, kaempferol, quercetin, rutin, selenium and superoxide-dismutase. It also contains compounds such as trigonelline that has shown to prevent the degeneration of nerve cells in neuro-degenerative diseases.

Medicinal properties of fenugreek

Cardiovascular disease and blood lipids

Fenugreek has a strong modulating effect on blood lipid levels and can substantially reduce the risk of atherosclerosis. In diabetics, who usually suffer lipid imbalances, it has demonstrated a remarkable ability to lower cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL levels while raising HDL levels. Another property of fenugreek is the reduction of platelet aggregation which, in turn, dramatically reduces the risk of abnormal blood clotting associated with heart attacks and strokes. Like most spices, fenugreek also contains many important antioxidants and has the added benefit of protecting other dietary and internally produced antioxidants from free-radical damage. This has important cardioprotective benefits, as well as helping to fortify the body against a range of other chronic conditions.

Fenugreek, which has comparable antidiabetic potency to cinnamon, is one of the most valuable spices for the control of glucose metabolism and thus the prevention and treatment of Type II diabetes.

Owing to its many properties it helps in the prevention and treatment of diabetes in several ways.

Working in a similar way to the common antidiabetic drug glibenclamide, fenugreek lowers cellular insulin resistance and controls blood glucose homeostasis. It has been shown to lower blood glucose levels of Type II diabetics by as much as 46 percent.

It also increases the levels of several important antioxidants and reduces the damaging oxidation of lipids associated with diabetes.

As an added bonus, fenugreek seeds are a very rich in a type of dietary fibre that modulates post-prandial blood glucose levels by delaying the absorption of sugar in the intestines. This mucilaginous fiber also reduces the absorption of fat and cholesterol from the intestines thus providing additional protection against heart disease and obesity.

Fenugreek is also effective against diabetes-related cataracts which occur commonly in diabetics. The enzymes that control glucose uptake into the lens of the eye do not function normally in diabetics and, as a result, glucose and its metabolites, fructose and sorbitol, accumulate in the lens tissues. The lenses of diabetic patients are also prone damage by enzymes that would normally protect against destructive free radicals, and a combination of these factors leads to the gradual opacification of the lens known as a cataract. As fenugreek has been shown to partially reverse both the metabolic changes in the lens and to reduce the density of the cataract, it is likely to be even more effective as a prophylactic agent against cataract formation in diabetics.

Alzheimer’s and other neuro-degenerative diseases

Fenugreek contains the compound trigonellene that has shown to stimulate the regeneration of brain cells. This property has stimulated further research to see whether it can help in the prevention of diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.

One of the greatest difficulties facing athletes who compete in endurance events is maintaining a readily available supply of energy in the body. In order to achieve this, muscle carbohydrate stores, in the form of glycogen, must be continuously replenished. In an event lasting more than one-and-a-half hours, glycogen stores become depleted, and for the remainder of the event the athlete has to rely on external sources of energy, such as high carbohydrate drinks, which are inferior to glycogen as an energy source. Post event re-synthesis of glycogen is also very important, and the two hours immediately following prolonged exercise is the crucial time for this process to occur.

Fenugreek has been shown to have a strong effect on glycogen replenishment; increasing post-event re-synthesis by over 60 percent in some endurance athletes. While its effects on glycogen re-synthesis during an event have yet to be tested, fenugreek is likely to exhibit a similarly beneficial effect during, as well as after, exercise.

Fenugreek is one of the richest sources of phytoestrogens and is thus a very useful spice for women who have low oestrogen levels. Phytoestrogens are also thought to help protect against certain types of cancer, and fenugreek may well be proven to have anti-tumourigenic effects should this property be investigated in the future.

Fenugreek is one of the richest sources of selenium, which is among the most important antioxidant micronutrients. When consumed regularly, selenium appears to have a protective effect against a range of cancers, including those of the colon, lung and prostate. Recent evidence also shows that selenium helps to prevent the progression of HIV and other chronic viral illnesses.

While other spices like chilies and cinnamon hold the culinary and medicinal headlines, the research into fenugreek is showing us that this spice has health benefits on a par with, or even superior to, those of the better known spices.

However it is important to appreciate that synergism between different spices enhances the bioavailability and efficacy of their respective bioactive compounds. Therefore, to obtain optimum benefit from fenugreek, it is important to use it with other common spices in both the prevention and treatment of disease.

Tuberculosis – The Deadly Killer Disease and the Spectre of Illegal Immigration

In summer when the cases of unaccompanied minors were at their peak in the states of Arizona and Texas, agents of the Border Patrol who worked inside processing facilities reported how the cases of tuberculosis, scabies and other critical diseases were being brought into the United States by people who were not unvaccinated, illegal aliens. There have been a lot of warnings that are being issued by local communities, about the impact that these diseases could have in the public school system where children are being educated. There have been many protests all over the country, in places like Murrieta, California, for example, where the local residents have been turning bus loads of illegal immigrants away, stating reasons as concerns about the dangers that could arise to public health. All these protestors who have warned about the spread of diseases were in turn accused of fear mongering and exaggeration.

It is already October now, and in the month of September thousands of illegal minor children were directly transmuted into the public education system without even meeting the basic immunization requirements, and into the local hospitals in each city, for getting medical care administered. What transpired after this is really alarming -cases of tuberculosis have been popping up quite regularly, with at least 5 cases of infections that were confirmed cases of the disease. At least 700 children are being put at risk, according to reports.

Tuberculosis or consumption, as it is called, is a fatal, infectious disease, caused by various strains of “mycobacteria “; it attacks the lungs and sometimes the other parts of the body. Tuberculosis is a disease that spreads through the air through coughing, sneezing or through the exchange of other respiratory fluids in the air.

One-third of the world’s population is thought to have been infected with this dreaded disease, with new infections occurring in about 1 percent of the population each year. It is prudent to note that only 5 to 10 percent of the United States population tests positive for the disease. According to the National Network for Immunization Information, tuberculosis kills more people in the world than any other infection.

In recent times however, an alarmingly large number of cases have been coming up across the States – five babies tested positive for the infection after an employee at an El Paso hospital exposed hundreds of infants to the disease. These include children born at the hospital between September and August 2014, when it was discovered by officials that an unnamed female employee had the illness. More than 700 children may have been exposed to the disease, according to reports.

The recent surge in the illegal immigration into the country could also be one of the reasons why the occurrence of tuberculosis is increasing, but the media is not drawing any connections between two situations. Illegal immigrants put the larger population in the country at risk, as they are not tested for any potentially dangerous diseases. According to a reputed agency in the United States tuberculosis kills more people in the world than any other infection!

Laser Hair Loss Treatment – Can Light Grow New Hair?

A laser hair loss treatment works under the premise that light can heal. This alternative treatment is for both men and women, and it works to stimulate new hair growth, as well as aid thinning hair and a problematic scalp. The laser treatment is designed to stimulate the body’s natural healing energy. Its basic theory relies on the fact that light is linked to cell function. Encouraging healthy cell function should work to promote regeneration of healthy hair.

Laser therapy is an efficient use of light

On the plus side of laser hair loss treatment, it is very efficient, as it uses low power requirements. The equipment is also easy to use and requires simply placing a hood over the patient’s head and pressing the “Start” button on the machine. Laser therapy utilizes different light “doses” to produce the desired effect on the scalp and balding areas. A laser treatment takes about 30 minutes, with sessions once a week for 9 to 10 weeks, if not more, before you could see results. The proper amount of light must be concentrated on the problem areas in order for this treatment to have a benefit.

Just as sunlight, through the process known as photosynthesis, helps plants grow and thrive, the energy of light through laser treatment can help aid in the healing of human injuries. Studies are currently being conducted, with reports to be published in scientific journals upon completion.

After week 5 or 6 of the laser hair loss treatment, your scalp should notice an improvement to problem areas, including the reduction of dandruff, if that had been present. Excessive hair loss should be stopped or greatly reduced somewhere between week 6 and week 9 of the treatment sessions. After week 9, you should see hair growth beginning in bald spots and re-growth being generated in spots that were thinning. The remainder of your hair should experience a growth spurt, as well, with thicker hair strands. After the initial hair re-growth, follow-up and maintenance appointments with laser light therapy are recommended, as well as “booster” treatments once a month for continued hair generation.

There is a new FDA-approved laser treatment, as well, involving a “Lasercomb.” This comb works only if you have significant areas of hair left on your scalp. As you comb through your hair, a laser is supposed to be directed at your hair follicles to stimulate new growth. The cost of a Lasercomb can be as much as $500. The directions tell you not to use it every day, only for a few days a week for about 15 minutes per day. It will take approximately three to six months using a Lasercomb to actually determine if this laser hair loss treatment is working for your hair.

Almost every hair loss treatment ends its advertisement with something to the effect of, “when used in conjunction with Minoxidil.” Minoxidil is the only FDA-approved topical solution and supplement combination to combat hair loss and promote hair re-growth. Hair loss treatments including Minoxidil can show an improvement to your hair in as little as two to three months.

The two-step program that Provillus offers works well to promote all aspects of healthy hair regeneration. Utilizing a topical solution of Minoxidil, a dropper-full should be applied to the affected areas on the scalp twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. In combination with that, a supplement containing Vitamin B6, Magnesium, Biotin, Horsetail Silica (used by the ancient Greeks and Romans), and Para-Amino Benzoic Acid (this helps reduce wrinkles) is recommended to provide nourishment for your entire body, but particularly for the hair follicles. The nutrients are intended to provide a healthy foundation for the hair follicles to generate new growth.

While lasers are great inventions and offer much to technological applications, including limiting invasive surgeries and tendering opportunities to have multiple types of surgeries more easily and with less recovery time, laser hair loss treatment can probably still use some assistance in re-growing hair. Consider the FDA-approved drug, Minoxidil, to aid in stimulating hair growth. Provillus’ two-step treatment program is a hard combination to beat.

Recovering From Tumor Surgery

After undergoing tumor surgery, there are a number of things you can do in order to help your recovery. Here are some suggestions that will assist you in bouncing back after the ordeal of undergoing a surgical procedure involving the removal of a tumor.

One of the first things to remember is that, depending on the type of tumor and the location, what you may have experienced was the presence of a benign tumor rather than a malignant one. Count yourself lucky if that is the case. The presence of a malignant tumor indicates there is much more to do in the way of treatments and possibly more surgery before you have the situation under control. When your tumor surgery yields a benign tumor, your main task will be to focus on getting over the effects of the surgery.

Getting over the actual tumor surgery will vary somewhat, depending on where the incision was made and how large the incision happened to be. This will involve avoiding any type of activity that might lead to ripping or tearing of the incision as it heals. Your physician will be able to provide you with ways that you can get some exercise safely during the healing period. In many cases, you may be able to resume normal activities in less than a month.

During your recovery period, there will be days when you feel as if full recovery from the tumor surgery has already taken place. By all means enjoy that sense of renew vigor, but don’t assume that you have bounced back more quickly than the doctor indicated was normal. Persons recovering from any type of invasive procedure go through days when they feel great, only to be followed by days where they do not feel quite as well. While you may feel fine one day, engaging in too much activity too soon could lead to a setback. Take those good days with a grain of salt, but don’t see them as indicators that the healing is done.

Tumor surgery is a serious matter, as is any invasive procedure. While getting the good news that the tumor surgery revealed that the growth was benign will take a huge burden off your mind, don’t discount the importance of following the doctor’s instructions for your recovery time. Observe any guidelines about physical activity to the letter. In the long run, listening to the advice of your medical professional will make your tumor surgery recovery much easier.

Eosinophilic Pneumonia – A Severe Atypical Form of Pulmonary Disease

Eosinophilic pneumonia is a very rare, atypical form of pneumonia that generates lung inflammation, pronounced difficulty in breathing and eosinophilic reactions at pulmonary level. Although the actual causes of eosinophilic pneumonia remain unknown, the accumulation of eosinophils inside the lungs triggered by the disease reveals the infectious character of this type of pneumonia. Eosinophils are a type of white cells that have an important role in fighting infectious agents such as bacteria.

Even though medical scientists haven’t yet identified the specific infectious organisms responsible for causing the disease, it is believed that eosinophilic pneumonia is caused by infection with atypical bacteria. This hypothesis is supported by the unusual eosinophilic response triggered by the disease at pulmonary level. Eosinophilic pneumonia is a severe type of pulmonary disease that generates pronounced impairments of the lower respiratory tract. In the absence of proper medical care, this type of pneumonia can even lead to complete respiratory failure, causing death by asphyxiation.

Due to the fact that eosinophilic pneumonia generates a wide range of physical manifestations and due to the variety of its presumptive underlying causes, the disease is also referred to as a syndrome. The unknown etiology of eosinophilic pneumonia and the scarce amount of data regarding the occurrence and the progression of the disease render medical scientists unable to timely diagnose this syndrome. There is also no effective, specific cure for eosinophilic pneumonia in present. However, medical reports indicate that most patients with eosinophilic pneumonia can be recovered from the disease with existent medication treatments, prompt diagnosis and medical intervention greatly increasing patients’ chances of survival.

Recent medical reports describing the occurrence and the progression of eosinophilic pneumonia among American soldiers deployed in Iraq may also point to an endemic character of the syndrome. Epidemiologists and biologists theorize that eosinophilic pneumonia may be triggered by infectious factors characteristic to certain territorial regions. The epidemic outbreak among the U.S. military personnel recently deployed in Iraq also suggests a highly contagious nature of eosinophilic pneumonia. Medical reports also incriminate factors such as smoking and prolonged exposure to sand and dust as potential underlying causes of the syndrome.

The medical staff that recently accompanied US military personnel during a set of missions in Iraq described a rapid onset of eosinophilic pneumonia in 18 American soldiers. Although there were only 18 cases of eosinophilic pneumonia identified among 180.000 soldiers, the syndrome generated exacerbated symptoms in all affected persons. The majority of patients were men, and the highest incidence of eosinophilic pneumonia was registered among young patients, with an average age of 22.

Although the actual causes of the outbreak are still unknown, doctors established connections between smoking and the occurrence of eosinophilic pneumonia among the 18 members of military personnel. All the affected people were smokers, most of them recently starting to use tobacco. Apart from this common feature, doctors were unable to identify other potential risk factors of the disease. Strangely enough, epidemiologic tests revealed no signs of pulmonary infection, thus discriminating the implication of bacteria in triggering eosinophilic pneumonia. Despite this fact, all patients presented a pronounced eosinophilic response, most of them developing extra-pulmonary eosinophilia as well.

Two of the affected patients eventually died due to complications, while the other patients responded well to prolonged treatment with corticosteroids. Over a period of three months of treatment, very few patients still presented signs of respiratory problems. All 16 patients were completely recovered from the disease after completing the prescribed treatment. None of the patients remained with permanent impairments of the respiratory system and there were no reported cases of relapse.

25 Health Benefits of Cinnamon – A Miraculous Spice

Cinnamon is one of the world’s oldest known spices. The tree is native to Sri Lanka where it was found thousands of years ago. It is the best spice available in terms of its nutrition and health. It contains unique healthy and healing property comes from the active components in the essential oils found in its bark. Cinnamon has extremely high anti-oxidant activity due to which it has numerous health benefits. Aside from being used as a medicine by other cultures since ancient times, the health benefits may also come from eating it which can be listed as follows:

1. Lowers Cholesterol:

Studies have shown that just 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon included in a daily diet can lower cholesterol.

Also Cinnamon may significantly lower LDL “bad” cholesterol, and triglycerides (fatty acids in the blood) and total cholesterol.

2. Reduces blood sugar levels and treating Type 2 Diabetes:

Several studies have shown improved insulin sensitivity and blood glucose control by taking as little as ½ teaspoon of cinnamon per day. Improving insulin resistance can help in weight control as well as decreasing the risk for heart disease.

3. Heart Disease:

Also, people who have been prescribed medication to manage their blood sugar should not reduce or discontinue their dose and take cinnamon instead, especially without consulting your doctor.]

How To Get Rid Of Phlegm In Throat And Chest

Phlegm in Throat

Phlegm in throat is normal in healthy human beings, and its purpose is to filter the air we breathe by trapping tiny particles, like dust, and preventing them from entering our respiratory system. The phlegm within a person’s nose and throat is made by the cells which line the sinus passage and it is typically a clear color and quite thin.

However, occasionally a build-up of bacteria might lead to phlegm in throat to become a greenish-yellow color, or sometimes even gray. These bacteria can lead to infections plus cause a tonsil stone on the back of a typical throat or tongue.

Phlegm in Chest

Congestion of a typical lung occurs when the person is incapable of clearing the build-up of phlegm and fluids, this provides a rise in breathing difficulties, wheeze, and coughing. Many individuals suppose that reaction to the cold is the only explanation for chest congestion, but there are various other things that may increase the risk for this condition.

There are some people who suffer a strong aversion to certain elements including molds, animal furs, pollen, dust, and display similar symptoms. Then, needless to say, there is always this condition which is a result of the common cold which usually comes with runny nose and sore throat. This invariably leads to an infection of your chest. Similarly, a viral infection comparable to flu may take hold and may become a significant issue. Unfortunately, viruses can mutate and grow different flu-like illnesses.

Beneficial Food

First, honey and lemon. The two of them have strong anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. However, you should only buy organic honey, since non-organic honey are processed at high temperatures that kill a lot of the enzymes in it. Honey and lemon juice put into boiling water initially soothes the throat and then it continues the whole process by killing herpes, or bacteria that’s causing the phlegm.

Many nuts are also useful for getting rid of phlegm. Almonds and walnuts are bitter foods that loosen phlegm. They warm the lungs and relieve asthmatic symptoms. Hazelnuts fortify the spleen and provides your system extra strength of fighting disease. Nuts are best roasted on cooler temperature within an oven for about 20 to 15 minutes to bring out their oils and flavor. If you already smell the flavor coming out of the oven turn it off. Longer roasting certainly will dry them out.

How to Eliminate Phlegm?

How do I clear my phlegm in throat? Dear friend, to spend time with phlegm in throat is a very bad condition. For treatment, you simply need hot or warm water and inhale its vapors sitting at coach anywhere at home. It’s better if you add little mint or lemon juice to it. Hot vapors hold the tendency to thin your phlegm. The thinned phlegm afterward seem to reappear out from your throat as you cough. This way, it can also be among the best natural treatments for sinus infection.

How to eliminate phlegm in bronchitis? Our bronchitis are among the important parts of our body. Hence you can’t experiment while treating phlegm in bronchitis. Best treatment to cure phlegm in bronchitis is by utilizing apple cider vinegar juice. Just add one or two tablespoon of apple vinegar in a single cup, and gulp it. You certainly feel it’s effect immediately. You will feel that the phlegm actually dissolved.

Asthmatic Bronchitis

Bronchitis that is not well treated can degenerate into asthma. Asthmatic bronchitis is a result of inflammation of the airways. Bronchitis is also a result of an inflammation of the airways of large bronchi. The inflammation can be caused by a virus or bacteria pathogen. When a bronchitis infection takes place, symptoms such as coughing, fever, fatigue and headaches are felt. Shortness of breath and wheezing can be experienced as a result of blockage of the airways by phlegm.

Asthmatic bronchitis is as a result of chronic bronchitis that goes on for a long time. Due to the constant irritation of the airways, the condition can turn to be asthmatic. Asthma has no cure, therefore one needs to control the bronchitis condition so that it does not degenerate into other more serious problems. These are pneumonia and asthma.

When a bronchitis cough lasts for more than one month, there is need to go for diagnosis. This should be done by an ear, nose and throat specialist. Having irritated the airways for month can lead to asthmatic bronchitis. The symptoms of asthma include coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and tightness in the chest. All these symptoms are as a result of lack of enough air going through the airways.

The symptoms can also be as a result of air forcing its way through the blocked tubes. The tubes block as a result of swelling caused by an irritation. This at most times is an asthma bronchitis trigger. When the condition is found to be asthmatic, treatment should start immediately to avoid other health problems. If bronchitis infection is still present, this too should be dealt with.

Shoulder Pain Side Sleeping – How to Relieve Your Pain and Finally Get a Good Night’s Sleep

If you are suffering from shoulder pain, side sleeping can be difficult. It hurts to lay on your side. You may experience a constant deep ache or sharp pain. It is difficult to roll over, change positions, or find a comfortable way to fall asleep. Shoulder pain can lead to long, uncomfortable, sleepless nights.

The most common source of shoulder pain is an injury to the muscles and tendons of the rotator cuff. You may be diagnosed with conditions such as bursitis, rotator cuff tendinitis, impingement, and tears.

The rotator cuff is a group of small muscles located around the ball-and-socket joint of the shoulder. They are important for circular arm movements. This area is also a fragile area prone to overuse and injury. When these muscles are injured, it is often difficult to raise your arm over your head, reach behind your back, or even to get dressed on your own. It also makes sleeping difficult if you like to lay on your side.

There are a few simple things you can do to help relieve the pain and get some much needed rest. These include taking pain medicine such as aspirin or ibuprofen. You can also pile up pillows around the affected area to help shift some of your weight off of the injured shoulder.

However, you will receive the most benefit from a series of exercises that specifically target the shoulder and the rotator cuff in particular. There are a number of specially designed exercises, developed by physical therapists to aid in rotator cuff injuries. These include targeted exercises to help speed recovery, re-build strength, relieve pain, and prevent loss of range and mobility.

While it is always a good idea to consult with a physician first, there are many exercises that you can do on your own, in the comfort of your own home.

One easy exercise to begin with is a door press. This exercise will stretch out the muscles in your shoulders and upper chest. To begin, stand facing an open doorway. Place your hands and forearms on the door frame with your fingers pointing straight up towards the ceiling. Your upper arms should be level with your shoulders. Leaving your arms in place on the door frame, slowly press yourself through the doorway. You’ll feel tightness in both the front and back of your shoulders. Hold this position for several seconds then use your arms to slowly push yourself back out to your original position. Repeat this exercise several more times. But always remember to move slowly and stop before there is any pain.

Cause of Lower Back and Groin Pain: The Iliolumbar Ligament

The iliolumbar ligament connects the fifth lumbar vertebra to the crest of the ilium, or hip bone, in the lower back. It is one of the thick, strong ligaments that supports the sacroiliac (SI) joint, which forms where the ilia meet the sacrum at the base of the spine on each side.

The ligaments around the SI joint facilitate pelvic stability and, since the pelvis is attached to the base of the spine, spinal stability. The lumbar spine is a highly mobile segment that bends forward, backward and sideways as well as rotating. The ligaments that attach to lumbar vertebrae are susceptible to injury if this spinal segment is overexerted.

The iliolumbar joint can be injured in a number of ways, including lifting a heavy object, impact from a fall or repetitive rotation of the lower back. Iliolumbar syndrome occurs when the ligament is chronically torn or strained. This is usually the result of a repetitive use injury, such as sustained by golfers, tennis players, or others who constantly twist at the lower back.

Ligaments have a difficult time healing; they naturally receive poor blood supply, meaning they do not get fresh oxygen and nutrients to facilitate healing. When a ligament is injured, inflammation in the region can cause pain in the area and in other parts of the body. The SI joint is affected when any of its supporting ligaments is injured; the joint loses support and becomes unstable. Inflammation in the area can cause the joint to seize up and interfere with nerves that pass through the area to other parts of the body.

Misalignment of the L4 and/or L5 vertebrae, if ligament has been weak for prolonged period of time

Treating an injured ligament is difficult; while any motion can irritate it, prolonged periods of rest and immobility carry their own risks. Treatment of the ligament depends on the severity of the damage.

If you have only a minor strain of the iliolumbar ligament, ice and a brief period of rest followed by gentle stretching and eventually strengthening exercises should suffice to recover.

More severe strains may benefit from friction therapy, a form of massage designed to stimulate the ligament just enough to break down scar tissue without aggravating the injury. Exercise therapy follows to build strength and flexibility in the hips, buttocks and lower back.

Iliolumbar ligament syndrome that doesn’t respond to these forms of therapy may benefit from prolotherapy, a relatively new form of treatment for ligament injuries. It involves the injection of irritants into the ligament area to spark the body’s inflammatory response, which is part of the healing process. Since ligaments receive poor blood flow, the body’s initial inflammatory response may have been too weak to facilitate healing. Ligaments are expected to heal after 3-10 sessions of prolotherapy.

Injury to the iliolumbar ligament is fairly distinct in that it causes SI joint and lower back pain along with groin pain. If you have these symptoms, help your doctor arrive at an effective treatment plan for your pain.

Shoulder Separation Repair – The AC Joint Injury

A shoulder separation injury is quite painful. It is actually not an injury to the shoulder; rather it is an injury to the acromioclavicular joint, also known as the AC joint, which is located where the collarbone connects to the highest point of the shoulder blade.

The most common cause of a shoulder separation injury is a fall onto the shoulder. A fall with enough impact or the right angle will result in the ligaments that stabilize the AC getting damaged, which cause the shoulder to separate.

If the force of the fall is great enough, the collarbone and the wing bone separates causing the wing bone to move down, which can be identified by a lump or bulge above the shoulder. The injury can result in very little damage to severe damage causing great deformity. The greater the deformity means it will take much longer for the shoulder to be pain free.

· A mild shoulder separation involves a sprain of the AC ligament that does not move the collarbone and looks normal on X-rays.

· A more serious injury tears the AC ligament and sprains or slightly tears the coracoclavicular (CC) ligament, putting the collarbone out of alignment to some extent.

· The most severe shoulder separation completely tears both the AC and CC ligaments and puts the AC joint noticeably out of position.

A mild to moderate shoulder sprain or separation can heal without surgical intervention. The most common nonsurgical treatments include rest, pain medication and physical therapy. People typically must wear a sling, which keeps the arm and shoulder from bearing weight that can aggravate and lead to further injury.

Shoulder Separation Surgery

Surgery should be considered if pain persists and the deformity is severe. A surgeon may recommend trimming the collarbone so that it does not rub against the nearby acromion.

When the deformity is severe, surgery may be needed to reconstruct the ligaments that attach underneath the collarbone. When surgery is required, extensive rehabilitation is required to gain back full mobility and pain free movement.

Shoulder separation injuries can happen to anyone. The most common cause is a fall, trip or direct blow to the shoulder area. Active youths and adults that participate in sports as well as elderly individuals that slip or fall are the most at-risk individuals.

If you have experienced a fall or direct impact to the shoulder, you should see your healthcare provider immediately to have it assessed.

Cerebral Palsy Exercises And Benefits

Health plays a very important role in every individual’s life. It is rightly said that health is wealth. However, well being of a person is the result of many factors such as physical activity, physical fitness and exercise. Participation in our daily activities like household work, gardening, walking or other chores will help maintain your health. Sports, nutrition and exercise can be taken part by people from all age groups and this will maintain your fitness levels. Similarly, exercise is particularly important for people with disabilities due to conditions such as cerebral palsy.

CP is a condition that occurs due to a group of neurological disorders caused because of injuries in the brain before, during or after birth. Since it most commonly affects infants and young children, appropriate treatment at the right time is very necessary. There are many significant issues that can occur in children with cerebral palsy and these can be controlled with the help of cerebral palsy exercises. Cerebral palsy condition has varying effects on children and treatment for a child will depend on the amount of severity. There is no cure for this condition and treatment that includes therapies will be given to make the person as independent as possible.

Cerebral palsy exercises play a very important role in the treatment of this condition. The benefits of exercise in these children are immeasurable since they produce a lot of energy, stress release and good feeling. Cerebral palsy exercises help children to participate in individual and community programs since they improve a person’s sense of well being and reduce stress to a great extent. They also maintain strength, flexibility, mobility and coordination of muscles. Besides, it also improves heart and lung efficiency along with benefits such as maintaining the bone structure, reducing risks of chronic diseases, assisting in weight control, blood pressure and osteoporosis.

Cerebral palsy exercises are recommended to be a part of a child’s daily activities such as dressing and feeding. These exercises should be framed by occupational and physical therapists who will decide what your child should do depending on the condition. If your child has enough motor skills, then you can even enroll him in cerebral palsy fitness program in addition to the exercises that has to be done on a routine basis. Children with CP can take up gym classes, movement experiences and other programs that the child will like and especially framed for children with this condition. You can find instructors and staff trained for this to deal with your child’s special needs and attend to him whenever required.

There are many exercises designed for children with cerebral palsy and it is the responsibility of the caretaker to apply the correct procedures so that it helps the child’s movement. These cerebral palsy exercises are framed to increase the muscle tone and encourage normal movement so that they can be independent. However, if a child needs assistance, then the caretaker should be ready to give him a hand. Consult a physical or occupational therapist to tell you which program is best for your child.

Lucid Dreaming and Sleep Paralysis

Lucid dreams of course are dreams that seem very, very more realistic than ordinary dreams, and in which one is consciously aware that they are dreaming. The more experienced one becomes at lucid dreaming, the better they can control it. Experienced lucid dreamers can make their dreams extremely realistic. Once you are able to control your dreams, you can of course ask to be taken back to a past life (if you believe in them) or event, current event, or future event. You can use lucid dreaming to help overcome your fears. Allow yourself to face your fears in a lucid dream. It’s all your choice. The limit goes beyond the sky, it even goes beyond dreams. Some people are natural lucid dreamers, and some have to learn how through practice. As a natural lucid dreamer myself, I can’t guarantee that my technique will help everyone learn, but I can give you an idea about how it can be done.

Firstly, every night before you go to bed close your eyes and say out loud “I WILL REMEMBER MY DREAMS. SOON I WILL BE ABLE TO CONTROL THEM”. Then when you wake up the next morning the very first thing you should do is write down in your diary every single thing you remember about your dreams.. If you can’t remember anything, don’t be discouraged, you will eventually. Just remember a little bit at a time and after awhile you will start remembering more and more. You don’t have to keep a dream diary forever, just until you start getting the hang of having lucid dreams. The more you can remember and analyze about your dreams, the better you can control them in the future.

One trick to do; and this is how I’ve had lucid dreams all my life, is wait until your day off when you can sleep in and don’t have to do anything. Get a sleeping pattern down for 4 or 5 days and wake up the same time every morning. Then one morning, go to bed a couple hours later than usual, but set your alarm to wake you up at the same time as the prior mornings. It can just be for a few minutes and you can get a drink or watch tv or check email or something. Do this for about 15-20 minutes and then go back to bed and lie down on your back. MAKE SURE YOU STAY ON YOUR BACK! Start pretending that you’re doing whatever it is you wish to lucid dream about, imagine you’re with the people you want to be with. Try to make whatever you’re imagining as clear as possible. Hear, feel, and even visualize that you’re smelling something.. MAKE SURE YOU STAY ON YOUR BACK THE WHOLE TIME! Whenever you drift off to sleep hopefully you’ll start dreaming of the things you were imagining about. When you’re getting close to a lucid dream you’ll start vibrating or pulsating a bit and you’ll start hearing a buzzing noise.

Don’t panic if you find that you’re half asleep/half awake and can’t move. It’s a condition called sleep paralysis. If you panic it’ll only make things worse and you’ll start having a nightmare and you’ll hallucinate that there’s something (or someone) bad in the room with you. I don’t know why this happens, but it can be scary if you don’t stay calm. This is the down side to having strange dreaming experiences. I unfortunately first experienced this when I was only 6 or 7 years old. I “woke up” one night in my room and there was a man at the end of my bed pointing a gun at me. It was as clear and real as could be. Imagine a little girl “waking up” and seeing that. I wanted to run to my daddy but I couldn’t move, thanks to the paralysis. Finally he “disappeared” and I woke up. My daddy of course told me it was just a dream and tried to make me feel better, but I spent years afterwards wondering if it was a ghost I saw that night. It wasn’t until I got a computer later in life and learned that it was a condition called “sleep paralysis”.

I experienced it several other times, but as I got older I learned how to either wake myself up from it, or turn it into a more pleasant lucid dream. I have always been fascinated by the Jack the Ripper murders, and I absolutely cannot read anything about the subject when it’s close to bed time. I have had a few sleep paralysis experiences where I found myself his victim, and he was on top of me killing me. I would keep going back and forth between laying on my back on the streets of London to my bed. Of course it still wasn’t as frightening as the “ghost man” I experienced as a child. I didn’t start having the JTR experiences until later in life, when I had an idea that it wasn’t real. Of course it does make me wonder if I had a past life as a prostitute in London, but I try not to think about it.

But anyway, don’t be discouraged if anything like this ever happens to you. Try to remember that it’s not real and concentrate on your breathing. Try to stay calm and close your eyes and think about happy things, there’s a good chance that this paralysis incident will turn into a lucid dream. Remember to try staying on your back the whole time, and that the chance of having a lucid dream will increase on days you sleep in longer than usual.

Remember you can use lucid dreams for any purpose(s) you choose. Some people like to have fun with it. When you lucid dream, you are almost like a god and you have control over the dream world. Obviously the most common thing for lucid dreamers to do is to experience their sexual fantasies. Some people like to fly, some people like to pretend that they’re a star on stage preforming in front of a large crowd. Sometimes it may not be until a middle of an ordinary dream when it becomes lucid. If it already a pleasant dream, you don’t have to change it if you don’t want to. You could keep on continuing with the same dream as an observer. Of course you can change things you don’t like about it. It’s all totally all up to you. Have fun!
