Insomnia Solution – Simple Insomnia Solutions

Insomnia is a problem for many people but there are simple insomnia solutions that can help you fall asleep. The atmosphere in your bedroom should be relaxing. It’s better not to do work activities in the bedroom.

TVs can also be disrupting to your sleep so only turn it on to watch things like ocean waves or nature videos.

The comfort of your bed is also important to a good night sleep. Use sheets and blankets that feel comfortable next to your skin. You can make your body relaxed before you get into bed by taking a warm shower or bath. Use shower gels or essential oils that are specifically for relaxation.

Steam showers also relax your muscles. Another simple insomnia solution is a massager. Some massagers work in the same way as a trained therapist does. You can use a massager on muscles all over your body to relieve stress which can promote sleep.

Breathing exercises when you’re lying in bed can help you forget the stresses of the day. Slowly inhaling and exhaling can make all parts of your body relaxed and drowsy which may help with your insomnia.

Try different breathing exercises to see which one works best for you. The kind of food you eat before bedtime can affect your sleep.

Tryptophan is an amino acid that calms your brain and may help you sleep. Some foods that contain tryptophan are eggs, peanut butter, poultry, or whole grain cereal. Eat some of these foods an hour before your bedtime and you may find the insomnia solution you’re looking for.

5 Easy and Effective Home Treatments For Ingrown Toenails

For people who have already suffered from ingrown toenails, they will most assuredly never want to experience it again. Although this may seem like a paltry condition, it can be disabling for the people who experiences it. While there are many treatments that can help, you can find the treatment right at the comforts of your own home with home treatment for ingrown toenails.

This condition is clinically known as onychocryptosis. This happens when a fraction of our nails immerses deep in the skin and leads to infection. This bit of fraction of nail can cause pressure to the area where the nail folds are located and when this happens, it can cause pain.

The severity of this problem varies. Most people experience a part of their nail extremely penetrated deep in the skin. This will lead to infection and the growth of granulated tissue.

Usually, the symptoms are characterized by reddish inflammation accompanied by severe pain. It may just start as a little discomfort in the feet but can progress to full blown pain when the nail fraction is already imbedded deep inside the tissues of the skin. Pus may also collect in this area as our body’s reaction to the infection.

There are many reasons why this condition happens and the biggest factor is the trauma that is inflicted to the nails. Many nail experts suggest cutting the nails straight across because a curved shape can more likely lead to this condition.

It is also imperative to cut our nails accurately to avoid having sharpened corners. Choosing the right footwear can also help. Too tight footwear can cause trauma to the nails and can further up your risk of developing this condition.

Some people say going to a nail specialist and having it treated can be extremely bloody and painful. This is why many would just like to cure it on their own.

If there is no avoiding this condition, try home treatment for ingrown nails. First, soak your feet in warm water mixed with Epsom salt. After cleansing the area, you can try applying an herbal remedy called Yarrow.

Yarrow is an herb that can be used to lessen the infection. You can try crushing the flowers or the leaves and place it on the affected area.

There is another treatment that has been tried and tested by many sufferers of this condition. If you haven’t discovered an easier treatment for this condition yet, try Nail-Rx.

Nail-Rx can be applied to the area affected to promote the healthy growth of nail in the right place. It can improve color and the health of the parts of the nails and can reduce problems that can happen to it such as fungal infection and ingrown.

This product uses herbal ingredients such as tea tree oil, lavender, lemon grass and clove oil. These herbs actually support the health of our nails and promote its healthy growth without side effects. There is not reason why you should not try this product out.

Home treatment for ingrown toenails can help, but if you really want your condition to be better, try a product like Nail-Rx and you can experience relief from the pain associated with this condition.

Which Nail Fungus Remover is the Best

Fungal infections in the toenails are called as Onychomycosis. These infections are more common in men than women, in diabetics, those with a suppressed immune system. In recent years more and more people are falling prey to the vagaries of fungal nail infections. This can be attributed to increasingly higher contact with fungus which is usually accumulated though the utilization of public shower rooms in gyms, hot tubs, saunas and public swimming pools.

Factors that are the main causes of toenail fungus are due to a person coming of age, male sex, nail trauma, perspiring feet, deprived circulation, and a weak immune system. Athletes are more prone to have fungal infection. Perspiration in the shoe along with frequent nail trauma adds to the possibility of infection. Athletes bearing slack fitting shoes which permits congestion of the nails next to the shoe and anyone who is wearing shoes that are too tight are at greater risk of building up toenail fungus.

There are many nail fungus removers. One of the treatments for fungus is through oral anti-fungal treatment. The most popular of these medications are the Imidazole anti-fungals and Lamisil. These medications can be costly and is to be in used once a day for three months. The efficiency of these medications may vary from 60-80% and reappearance time is 15%. Lamisil shows to be much more efficient and has fewer side effects compared to Sporonox. Taking these medications has been proven to produce disturbing side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, taste disorders and light-headedness. Serious unpleasant incidents that can rarely occur include hepatitis and also acute hepatic necrosis. An alternative to oral medications or sometimes in conjunction to oral treatments are the topical preparations. These topical solutions can only be purchased with prescription and can also be expensive affairs.

Is Heat Or Cold Better For a Sprained Wrist?

There is an ongoing debate about whether heat or cold is better for injury like a sprained wrist.  It’s usually the same debate, and doesn’t go very deeply into how the body works and how hot or cold affects body mechanics.  But the unchanging fact is that Injury kicks in an inflammatory response, and heat and cold both affect it in certain ways.  Let’s keep it simple.

What Happens When You Sprain Your Wrist?  The moment injury happens the body kicks in an Inflammation response.  This does three things, it traps fluid in the area, it tightens muscles to ‘guard’ and ‘protect’ you from further injury, and it releases chemicals which enhance your sensitivity to pain.

As a side note, in my experience the injury is not the problem, it’s the body’s response to the problem that takes weeks and months to ‘heal’.  The key concept to dealing with an injury like a sprained wrist is kicking out the Inflammation Response.  Wrist sprains heal fast, but the defensive response can last for months, years, and decades.

What Happens When You Apply Heat?  When you put heat on the injured area, blood rushes to the area.  This is great because this brings in new oxygen, new nutrition, and various ‘healing’ factors like white blood cells and scar tissue (basically).  That’s why you feel better, feel less pain, when you apply heat.  So that’s all good because you absolutely do need oxygen, nutrition, etc, especially at the site of any kind of injury.

But remember that the Inflammation Process traps fluid in the area.  So some/all of that new fluid gets trapped there (swelling).  One problem of this is that cells can actually starve to death because new nutrition etc, has a harder time finding it’s target swimming through all the extra fluid.

Temporary benefit is GREAT!  Trapped fluid, not so great.

What Happens When You Apply Cold?  Every artery is surrounded by a little bit of muscle.  When you put cold on muscle, it contracts (shivers).  So when you apply cold to an injured wrist, the sponge of your tissue literally squeezes itself.

This squeezing pushes fluid out of the area and back through the return system.  And then, when you take the cold away, the body overcompensates and pushes a lot of new blood to the area trying to warm it back up.  The result of effective icing is that you get circulatory turnover, meaning the cold pushes old fluid out and then causes the body to push new fresh blood back in.

So which is better for a sprained wrist, hot or cold?  Heat ONLY brings new blood to the area (which is good) but then some/all of that fluid gets trapped there due to the swelling mechanic of Inflammation.

Cold pushes old blood, waste product, pain enhancing chemical, etc out of the area AND causes a rush of new blood, oxygen, nutrition, and healing factors into the injured area.

Which one sounds better to you?

How to Properly Treat Bruises

How you might avoid bruises or can you? You will never be bruise-proof, unless you wrap yourself in cotton and never move. You can lessen the likelihood of any large bruises and shrink and heal the bruises you’ll occasionally get.

Apply an ice pack to treat any injury that might lead to a bruise such as hit to the head, falling on your legs, bumping your harms or any blows to your body. If you suspect that the bump will blossom into a severe bruise, the quicker you put ice on the injury and treat it continually for 24 hours the better chance you have of not having a bruise.

Never apply heat to a bruise. Apply ice packs at 15-minute intervals, letting the skin to warm up naturally in between the application of the ice packs. Do this treatment for the first 24 hours. The cooling constricts the blood vessels, and that means less blood spills into the tissues to cause that big black splotch. Using a cold pack also minimizes the swelling and numbs the area, so it won’t hurt as much as a bruise left un-chilled. In the following 24 hours, use heat to dilate the blood vessel and improve circulation in the area.

Try propping up the bruise area this helps the blood to not to form blood pockets. Add vitamin C to your daily diet. Studies at Duke University Medical center in Durham, North Carolina, show that people who lack vitamin C in their diets tend to bruise more easily. And their wounds heal more slowly. Take 500 milligrams of vitamin C three times a day to build up your collagen. This will help you not to bruise so easily. As always check with the health professional before changing your vitamin intake.

Some medicine will help bumps turn into bruises very easily. Taking aspirin to protect against heart disease also helps you to bruise easy. Blood thinner is another drug that contributes to you bruising easily. Other drugs such as anti-inflammatory drugs, antidepressants, or asthma medicines can inhibit clotting under the skin and cause larger bruises. People who abuse alcohol or drug users tend to bruise easily, too. If you are taking medicine that might cause you to bruise easily, talk to your doctor about the problem.

How to Ease the Aches and Pains of Cold Weather

Winter is upon us again and most of the country is covered in layers of freezing snow. Some folks know winter is here because they can see the snow through their window or hear about it on the news, but some of us know winters is coming long before it arrives. We can predict the cold because our joints and body ache like the devil and old injuries that we barely remember come back to haunt us.

Whether you have arthritis, sinusitis, fibromyalgia, carpel tunnel syndrome or just a bad knee from that fall you took off grandma’s porch 30 years ago, winter can be a time to cringe in pain rather than binge on eggnog. Luckily, there are simple steps you can take to ease the aches of cold weather pain.

It may sound like common sense, but it bears repeating. The best way to avoid cold-related aches and pains is to stay warm. Dress warmly, even when you’re inside the house, and plug in that electric blanket and heater. You can also turn your house’s heating system up or buy one of those snug new blanket-robes. When dressing to keep warm, you should also remember that several layers of clothing will keep you warmer than one overlarge jacket or sweater. By keeping your body warm, your joints won’t stiffen up and hurt. Warm muscles and joints are a less likely to snap or spasm which can lead to new injuries and renewed pain.

Another way to combat winter-related joint pain is to drink sufficient fluids to keep your body properly hydrated. Dehydration can cause muscle cramps, lethargy and general muscle soreness. Those over 65 should take particular care to drink enough as seniors are more affected by dehydration than others. Even better, you can drink a hot beverage such as decaffeinated tea to stay warm and hydrated at the same time

When choosing your beverages, be careful to avoid caffeine. Restricted blood flow or poor circulation can bring on debilitating joint diseases including Reynaud’s Phenomenon, where fingers and toes become numb and turn blue. Two of the many substances that cause blood to flow less freely are caffeine and nicotine. Reducing, or eliminating, your intake of both substances will reduce the chances of developing major joint pain. Caffeine is found in coffee, tea and most sodas and nicotine, in tobacco.

Another way to keep your muscles and joints warm and flexible would be to plan, and stick to, a regular exercise routine. The advantages of exercising include increased joint mobility and muscle strength and the maintenance of a healthy level of bone density. If you don’t usually exercise, then start slowly with a relatively mild routine before moving on to something more strenuous. Another option would be to become a member of the local YMCA or gym and take advantage of the exercise equipment and personal trainers that these places offer.

The best treatment for any pain is prevention. If you suffer from joint, back or neck pain then regular visits to a chiropractor can do wonders to keep winter aches and pains at bay. Spinal manipulation and other chiropractic techniques may help by treating your specific conditions that are aggravated by the cold each year.

Cold and humid weather has been scientifically proven to worsen the symptoms of several disorders and to aggravate old injuries. However, contrary to some beliefs, winter aches and pains are not something that you must “learn to live with.” Your chiropractor can determine a course of treatment and make recommendations to ease the pain and may have your muscles feeling like Spring again.

A Normal Kidney Size

It is usual for doctors to presume that you understand the fundamental structure of the kidneys. When arguing the outcomes of certain radiology tests (for instance ultrasounds and CT’s), it is likely that they will what is wrong but not needed what is normal. Lacking understanding what is normal, it is difficult to recognize the value of how something is abnormal.

Kidney size is not influenced by body shape. The kidneys develop at the same rate that the whole body develops, until physical growth stops at about 25-26. It is at this moment that internal organs get to their final dimensions.

The mean dimensions of the kidneys upon maturation are: length-about 12cm, breadth-about 6cm and thickness-about 3cm. The weight of one kidney averages about 120-150 g. Any decrease in size is abnormal. Increasing the size of a kidney is normal simply in conditions when one kidney is removed and the remaining kidney expands to recompense for the functional absence of the first.

Even if rather simple, the human kidney anatomy enables it to run really complex but vital functions. If any region of the kidney is injured or becomes diseased, this can considerably have an effect on its capability to run these functions.

A normal kidney is the size of a human fist. In spite of this, with the attendance of PKD, cysts grow in both kidneys. There might be simply a few cysts or many, and the cysts can vary in size from a pinhead to the size of a grapefruit. Once a lot of cysts grow, the kidneys can develop to be the size of a football or bigger and weigh as much as 38 pounds each.

It has been assumed from autopsy studies that variants in kidney dimensions and kidney weight are associated to gender, with weight being higher in males. In addition, it is identified that the left kidney is larger than the right one, independent of gender. A decrease of up to 40% in kidney weight happens over the years, nearly totally due to parenchymal decrease, lesser to decrease in blood supply. The kidney dimensions differ in distinct ethnic populations as well.

The result of hyperechoic renal cortex with emphasis of the corticomedullary intersections is usual of the normal sonographic arrival of the kidney of a premature newborn. Keep in mind that the normal size of the kidneys ought to not exceed 4 to 5 cm in a complete term newborn, pointing out that there is absolutely compensatory hypertrophy in this premature newborn, not unforeseen with a contralateral nonfunctioning kidney unit.

Wheat Intolerant? Give Us Our Daily Bread (Or Maybe Not!)

I have found wheat to be one of the most abundant and problematic foods. I believe it to be the single largest contributor to intestinal dysbiosis, parasitic infections, and universal food allergies. Over-consumption and genetically-modified grains are the greatest causes of wheat intolerance and gluten sensitivity.

It is important to first note that some people can be severely allergic to wheat. They are often medically diagnosed with the disease called Celiac or Celiac Sprue. This is an illness that is treatable, but can be painful and confusing for patients and their families, as there is a lot of lifestyle changes that must be made to accommodate the celiac patient. Celiac patients are also often allergic to wheat “sister” grains of rye, oat and barley.

Fortunately, most people do not suffer from Celiac disease. Most problems are from simply consuming too much wheat. Most people can assimilate a small to moderate amount as a PART of their diet. It is when we make it the MAJOR part of our diet (western/industrialized diets) that it often becomes a problem. There are many people who just can’t break down wheat and similar grains, as they lack certain enzymes to do so. We see this more in O blood types than others, as they do not fare well on a diet with regular grains.

Consuming too much wheat can lead to decreased pancreatic function – decreased output of insulin and digestive enzymes. This can lead to blood sugar regulation problems such as hyper- or hypoglycemia and chronic digestive disorders.

Symptoms may include fatigue, memory loss, sleep disruption, allergies, muscle and joint pain, high blood pressure, asthma, headaches, visual disturbances, learning disabilities/hyperactivity/attention deficit, obesity, chronic digestive disorders, to ulcers, food allergies, diarrhea/constipation, inability to absorb vital nutrients, parasitic infections, intestinal dysbiosis (unbalanced normal bacterial count), sinusitis, candidiasis, hypo/hyperthyroid, and menstrual/hormonal difficulties to name a few.

Over-consumption of wheat can also lead to a sensitized intestinal tract. This is a big contributor. At this time, I understand that there is a cascade of deterioration as follows:

Normal digestive tract then…

over-consumption of wheat then…

intestinal dysbiosis then…

heightened intestinal immune response then…

degradation of the intestinal lining then…

pancreatic dysfunction (insulin and digestive enzyme deficiency) then…

parasitic infection susceptibility then…

inability to absorb micro-nutrients then…

absorption of un-digested, antigenic proteins then…

ultimately leading to degraded health, lost vitality and even chronic sickness and disease.

While there is no substitute for moderation when it comes to wheat and the other gluten containing grains (oat, rye and barley), there is a product that can help you when you’ve over-indulged on them. Glutenzyme is an enzyme product that is designed specifically to break down the proteins within wheat that are very hard to digest. With the use of Glutenzyme, you can improve your body’s ability to digest and process wheat and other similar grains. A very popular product in Europe, Glutenzyme can help relieve gastric distress, bloating, constipation, diarrhea and other symptoms associated with wheat/gluten intolerance. People who use Glutenzyme may lose a good bit of water weight when undigested grains seen as a toxin are reduced and inflammation in the bowel is decreased. Patients have stated they feel lighter and less “bloated”. They also feel more energetic and have greater mental clarity than they can ever remember!

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) – What Causes Anxiety in PMS?

As we mentioned in previous article, Premenstrual syndrome effects over 70% to 90% of women before menopause in the US and less for women in Southeast Asia because of their difference in living style and social structure. The occurrence of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) have more than doubled over the past 50 years due to the acceptance of it as a medical condition that is caused by unhealthy diet with high in saturated food. Premenstrual syndrome is defined as faulty function of the ovaries related to the women’s menstrual cycle, it effects a women’s physical and emotional state, and sometimes interferes with daily activities as a result of hormone fluctuation. The syndrome occurs one to two weeks before menstruation and then declines when the period starts. In this article, we will discuss what causes anxiety in PMS.

1. Hormone imbalance

For what ever reason, women with PMS are found to have high levels of estrogen and low levels of progesterone. It may be caused unbalance of omega fatty acid, deficiency of certain minerals and vitamins, digestive disorder in nutrients absorption, etc, resulting in increasing symptoms of anxiety of PMS.

2. Sluggish liver

Besides helping to detoxify the body and fighting against invasion of foreign substances such as virus, bacteria and abnormal cell growth, liver play an important role in providing nutrients to the nervous system in fat and protein metabolism. Unfortunately, most women with PMS are found to have a sluggish liver during menstrual cycle resulting in nervous tension leading to anxiety.

3. Nutrients deficiency

Deficiency of Omega 3 fatty acid or imbalance of fatty acid in the body during menstrual cycle as resulting of over consumption of saturated fat caused by interference of liver in fat and protein metabolism resulting in increasing tension of nervous system leading to anxiety.

4. Genetic passing through

If your sister has it, you may also have it. For what ever reason, anxiety during menstrual cycle seems to run in the family. It may be caused by high levels of estrogen in the pool gene or reaction of certain glands in production of hormone during menstrual cycle.

5. Environment toxins

Over exposure to toxic environment resulting in accumulation of xenoestrogen in the body during menstrual will lead to over production of bad estrogen and low levels of good estrogen to counter the reaction to the symptoms of PMS.

Womb Fibroids – Natural Treatments To Reduce A Uterine Fibroid

Although womb fibroids are rarely dangerous, the symptoms they can cause can be debilitating and painful. If your uterine fibroids are symptom free, then you do not need to treat them as it is likely that they will shrink around the time of the menopause.

Many women prefer not to undergo surgery for a number of reasons, including the fact that this is rarely a permanent solution and in actual fact, womb fibroids natural treatments can permanently eliminate the root causes, meaning that shrinkage happens and the fibroids do not grow back.

One option to reduce a uterine fibroid in the womb is to take B vitamin supplements. Taking supplements that are rich in B vitamins can help insure better absorption of foods that can regulate the body’s hormone production. Hormone balancing foods include deep sea fish, dried beans, asparagus, cauliflower, rice, leafy greens and a whole lot more. Together with those B vitamin supplements, such hormone balancing foods will help reduce the likelihood of hormonal imbalance. That means the formation of those fibroids in your uterus may not occur in the first place or that existing symptoms can be reduced.

Aside from taking in health supplements and increasing the consumption of hormone balancing foods, you should also drink plenty of water. Dehydration alone can cause certain types of health complications in the body. If your body is not hydrated well, the toxins in it will accumulate and affect most of your organs and bodily functions. If this happens, womb fibroids can be the result in women who have other contributory factors.

Don’t forget about stress because this is another culprit that can cause hormonal imbalance, specifically an estrogen-progesterone imbalance. There are great and effective stress reduction techniques out there that you can make use of. Try meditation and visualization techniques. How about yoga? If you aren’t afraid of needles, perhaps you can try acupuncture. Go for a spa massage from time to time. An aromatherapy is a fine stress reliever as well. If you are short in funds, a hot bath can help remove stress off your system and in self is a good womb fibroids natural treatment as it can relieve pain and congestion.

You could also consider trying herbal remedies to reduce a uterine fibroid. Milk thistle, chasteberry and yellow dock root are able to aid in regulating the female reproductive system and in decreasing estrogen levels. They also have antioxidant properties that are very beneficial. Indeed, they are certainly worth trying as part of an overall strategy to help treat womb fibroids naturally.

Follicle Cyst Or Follicular Cyst – How to Heal it Naturally and Painlessly

Follicle cyst or Follicular cyst is the most common type of functional cyst. This type of ovarian cyst is formed when the sac does not open to release the egg and instead keeps growing. Follicle cyst can grow up to about two inches in diameter. However, it mostly will go away by itself within one to three months, sometimes even within weeks.

As with other types of cyst, follicle cysts are often treated with medicine. This is to help women cope with the pain as well as to help the healing. However, this approach can be quickened in a natural and painless manner by adopting principles of natural healing. If you are suspicious of natural remedies, rest assured that these can be practiced in tandem with whatever western medicine you may be taking right now.

Depending on the pain caused by the follicle cyst (usually a sharp pain on the side of the ovary where the follicle cyst is located), there are herbs and natural remedies that may help soothe the pain. For example, castor bean oil has been often used externally to relieve pain. This is due to its natural tendency to be easily absorbed through our skin. Some of the known properties of this castor oil include the healing of tissues as well as its ability to help our muscles to relax.

In fact, applied in the correct manner, castor oil has been known to help relieve pain associated with bleeding, ruptured and even twisted follicle cysts. Other easily available herbs are also often used to relieve pain caused by ovarian cysts or even polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

Some of the other herbs that can be used include Willow Bark, Tart Cherry and Boswellia. Again, the key in using these natural remedies is to know how to apply them, how often and in what quantities. These are basically what natural healing is about: knowing how natural remedies can help balance one’s body as nature originally intended.

Natural remedy does not only refer to herbs and things you eat. It also refers to other aspects of your lifestyle. For example, a key ingredient in a holistic approach to healing your body is to simply get enough rest. This sounds like common sense but as we all know, common sense is unfortunately not so common these days. Therefore, there are simple techniques you can quickly use to relax more deeply and more often, especially if you are living a stressful life with very heavy responsibilities on your shoulders.

In short, take a look at natural healing principles and you may well find that they will help reduce your follicle cyst problems (or even get rid of them completely)  faster than you may expect. And when you do… Welcome to natural healthy living!

Hepatitis C and Cats

There seems to be a lot written lately about Hepatitis C. It is a disease that can develop into cancer causing liver failure.

There is a herb that grows in the Peruvian Amazon and sold as an over the counter drug in South America called Cats Claw. It contains substances in its inner bark that boost the immune system. Used for centuries in South America, researchers are finding many medical uses for it including Hepatitis C.

If cancer develops in the liver, a liver transplant maybe the only chance for survival. The University of Massachusetts is developing a new antibody to neutralize the virus and prevent infection but is still in the testing stage.

The New England Journal of Medicine reported that a combination of two drugs, interferon and ribavirin, taking over a long period of time is having good results. The downside is the side effects of the treatment including anemia, cardiovascular and psychiatric problems.

It is the most common blood borne infection in the United States and is generally found in intravenous drug users. It is spread by contact with blood. Medical, dental, rescue and military personnel can be exposed when treatment is administered. Body piercing and tattoo implements and shared personal care items if not properly cleaned after use can transmit the virus.

It can be cured but the cure rate is less than 50%. It must be treated to possibly be cured. Whether Cats Claw, a possible herbal cure, or drugs developed by researchers is used, the best cure is prevention. The Hepatitis Foundation International has recommendations for vaccination and avoidance for the disease. Although the disease may not develop into cancer, it can be present for life.

Hepatitis C has not been shown to affect animals including cats. The only animal model is the chimpanzee. An animal cannot contract the virus from a human. If an animal bites or scratches a human with the virus, licking the humans blood will not give the animal the virus. Conversely, a human cannot get the virus from an animal. Viruses can mutate as shown by the recent H1N1 pandemic. Exposure to Hepatitis C or any virus may cause problems for humans and/or animals.

Lemon Juice For Kidney Stones

Kidney stones are not what one would call a major health problem, but they are definitely a problem. There are several home remedies that different people like to use, such as lemon juice. Lemon juice is widely known to efficiently help dissolve stones with surprising quickness. The key to using home remedies is using them in combination with other healthy habits. Using lemon juice for kidney stones may help keep you out of the doctor’s office and save you some time and money.

When formulating the right mixture of lemon juice for your kidney stones, there are a couple different recipes. You will want to experiment a little with your water to lemon juice ratio to best fit your taste buds. It is no surprise that this concoction of lemon juice for your kidney stones will be just somewhat tart. The most popular recipe starts with a gallon jug of water and about one cup of reconstituted lemon juice. It does not really matter if you purchase a gallon of spring or distilled water from the store specifically for this purpose or whether you just fill up an old gallon milk jug for the task.

If you buy a gallon of water just for this recipe, you will want to dump enough of it out to add the juice. Once you add the lemon juice you will want to give your jug a good shake or two. Also, you will want to remember to shake that jug this way each time before you pour yourself a glass of this helpful drink. The lemon juice will settle at the bottom quickly, so shaking it well is a must. Another quick fact to keep in mind is that this lemon juice and water mix will be very acidic still, so to save your teeth some trouble you may want to use a squeeze bottle or a straw to avoid as much contact with your teeth.

As was for mentioned, when using a home remedy like this, you will want to keep the rest of your routine as healthy as possible to your urinary system. Remember when using lemons for kidney stones to increase your fluid take in general. Stick primarily to water. Cranberries and cranberry juice is also a great urological cleanser. Cranberries have a lot of antioxidants to help healing along. Two or three quarts of water per day is usually a sufficient amount of water to keep you well hydrated and your systems flowing smoothly. Staying well hydrated is one of the main keys in fighting these pesky build ups.

However, every person will have a slightly different intake of fluids that they will need in a day’s time. If you are outside or at a job working hard, your fluid intake will increase. If you are doing an extreme amount of sweating, stop and take a break with this condition. They do not have to lead into a surgical procedure as long as they are dealt with as soon as possible. However, if lemon juice for your kidney stones does not help you to show improvement in this situation get to a doctor. Some kidney stones are too stubborn for anything besides a surgical procedure.

Cat Vomiting: Causes and Treatments

Vomiting that occurs occasionally in an otherwise healthy cat is generally not a cause for concern. Vomiting that persists for over 72 hours with or without signs of illness such as appetite loss, depression, lethargy, or diarrhea can indicate a more severe problem and should be addressed. The fluids lost during vomiting result in dehydration which could be potentially life threatening. The food, acids and other material expelled during vomiting can in other cases be lifesaving. Since cats are naturally carnivores, vomiting is a protective reflex used to eliminate bones, for example, after consuming a bird or rodent.

CAUSES

* Giving food and/or water at this time usually makes vomiting worse.

* Gradually reintroducing small frequent meals several times daily over the next 2-3 days resolves most cases.
