Very Bad Lower Back Pain – Bad Posture and Pinched Nerve Remedies

Is your posture bad?

Do you currently have any burning sensations in your lower back?

1.) Introduction

Lower back pain can be caused by a bulging disc, muscle strain or any number of spinal problems. This can limit your daily activities and cause you extreme anguish at any moment of your day. The bottom line is that you will probably want relief from these issues and it would be great if this could be done without having to go in for surgery, right? – This free health information can help you.

2.) Back Problems

Bad posture in either the sitting or standing position places much more stress on your spine. You may not always have noticed it, but its true. If you add on to this the action of lifting something, or even turning the wrong way, you may realize that you are literally in fits because your back pain is now taking over your days. Bulging discs can press on nerves in your lower back and this can send pain radiating down your lower back to your legs and even down to your feet.

So what’s the solution?

Do you go in for surgery, or would it be helpful to try other non-surgical applications first to see if the pain will subside?

3.) Non-surgical Treatment

In medical setting all over the United States and the rest of the world the application of low profile back supports can really provide quick relief. This is not a joke. People who use a quality made support can be low profile in design and can help to take the stress off of your lower back. It can also help to remind you not to make certain movements that can make your pain flare up. You may have never considered using a brace in the past, but it is a good idea to consider them. Why? – These supports are distributed on a daily basis in hospitals as a recognized treatment option for stability and pain relief. Not only that, back supports can also be billed to your insurance, which means that you may not have to pay a dime for the support you are getting!

Note: This is health information. Medical advice on braces for your back should be provided to you by your local, licensed orthotist. These individuals have studied in the field of orthotics and know how to get you the best support for your needs.

Shea Butter Baby Care

Your baby has the most delicate, sensitive skin there is. When you need something to help take care of that skin, and keep it healthy, you don’t want to reach for just anything. Due to the sensitivity of baby’s skin, most products can really irritate it. It’s best to go with something all natural, and perfectly safe. This is why so many mothers are turning to Shea Butter. It is all natural, safe for baby’s sensitive skin, and protects your baby’s skin from a number of different things.

Sun Protection

Too much exposure to the sun is unhealthy for anyone, especially your little one. The damaging UV rays can really be bad for baby’s skin. Also, too much sun exposure can lead to sunburn, which is bad enough for adults, but can be miserable to a baby. Shea Butter contains a natural sun screen which will help protect your baby’s skin from the sun. While it is doing this, it also keeps your baby’s skin soft, hydrated, and healthy. Rub some on your baby’s skin before you go outside and rest assured that his or her skin is safe!

Diaper Rash

We all know how bad diaper rash can be. It looks terrible, and can be really painful for your baby. Most of the time, diaper rash occurs at night, when wetness is trapped close to the skin for an extended period of time. With the acids in urine, it doesn’t take long for diaper rash to develop. When possible, allow your baby to go without a diaper in order for the skin to breathe. Also, rub Shea Butter on your baby’s skin to protect it. There is natural latex in Shea Butter which is not irritating, but provides a protective barrier for your baby’s skin, keeping moisture out. Remembering to rub it on at night will keep your baby drier, and will not allow the wetness to reach your baby’s skin.

Baby Massage

Many parents utilize the many benefits of baby massage. It is a bonding time for mother or father and baby to play, talk, sing, or laugh. It also does great things for your baby. When you are participating in baby massage, try using it to make it even better. When it absorbs into your baby’s skin, so does Vitamins A, C and E, essential fats and acids which keep the skin healthy, and other great nutrients which promote healthy and happy skin!

Shea Butter is amazing for so many different things, that it is a must for mothers. It is one of the few things that you can feel safe with, because it is all natural and safe for babies. If only a mother could rely on more things like Shea Butter!

Home Remedies For Easing Strep Throat Pain

When the doctor’s office calls you back and tells you the swab has come back positive for strep, you probably won’t be very surprised. The pain is bad, and finding a means to stop it can be problematic. Many over the counter sprays can only be used once every four hours. The relief they afford seldom lasts more than twenty minutes. What else can you do?

Cinnamon and Clove Tea: Both of these spices contain eugenol, which dentists use to numb toothache pain and injection sites. A decoction of them can dull the pain. Put a stick of cinnamon and a tablespoon of whole cloves in a pan. Add two cups of water and simmer until it is down to one cup. An ounce of this fluid can be taken once an hour as needed. Store the remaining liquid in the fridge until you need it. If you are diabetic, talk to your doctor before using cinnamon and be sure to check your sugar often as it can cause it to go down.

Eucalyptus: The oil of this plant can be used as aromatherapy, and may help open breathing passages which can sometimes be affected by strep bacteria. In cough syrups and cough drops, it can help the cinnamon and cloves with some numbing. Don’t use the oil around children under two, and children under six should not be given anything with eucalyptus in it, as it can cause serious health problems.

Garlic: Studies indicate there may be a weak antibiotic effect in raw garlic. This may help boost the effectiveness of your prescription antibiotics. Be sure to check with your doctor before taking this supplement with antibiotics. If you take blood thinners, including aspirin, ask the doctor as well. Garlic may also act as a blood thinner.

Gargles: Several liquids can be used as a gargle, both to help ease the pain and help kill the bacteria. Listerine is one obvious option, but there are others. A teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water can also be useful, though be careful not to swallow it. That could cause nausea and vomiting. Peppermint tea is another idea, and if that’s swallowed, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Licorice and Marshmallow: Both of these herbs can help coat your throat, which soothes the pain. The root is the useful part in both plants. Prepared licorice, in the form of DGL tablets may be the best choice if you are diabetic, as this root has a lot of sugar in it. Don’t use licorice at all if you have high blood pressure, as it can cause it to spike.

Willow Bark: This herb can be useful in three ways. It is a topical pain reliever, internal pain reliever and an anti-inflammatory. If you are allergic to aspirin or take aspirin therapy, you should avoid it, as it contains the same active ingredient.

One other thing to keep in mind. Strep throat is extremely contagious and the danger of spreading it isn’t past until you’ve been on the antibiotics at least twenty-four hours. Don’t forget to tell your doctor of any medications, supplements or herbal remedies you are taking so that an interaction can be avoided.

How to Prevent Tonsil Stones (and Why They Cause Bad Breath)

Tonsil stones can create a condition known as Halitosis, which is a stubborn bad breath and taste disorder many people suffer from.

Tonsil stones, also called tonsilloliths, are those nasty whitish/yellow colored, foul-smelling, lumps on your tonsils. These tonsil stones are caused by an accumulation of sulfur-producing bacteria and debris that becomes lodged in the tonsils. This debris, which includes mucous from post nasal drip, putrifies in the back of your throat, and collects in what are called the tonsil crypts. These tonsil crypts are small divots or pockets which appear on the surface of the tonsils, in which the tonsil stones may accumulate.

When this debris combines with volatile sulfur compounds (VSC’s) which are produced by the anaerobic bacteria beneath the surface of your tongue, along with the tonsil stones, you develop the condition known as Halitosis, more commonly known as bad breath!

Now, if you do not have your tonsils, then you will NOT (except for rare exceptions) experience tonsil stones. However, I am NOT saying that you should run out and get your tonsils removed. As we get older, tonsillectomies become increasingly dangerous. Aside from that, even if you have your tonsils removed, you will most likely still have bad breath. Why is that?

The sulfur producing bacteria breeding beneath the surface of your tongue, integral to the creation of those tonsil stones, are the most likely candidates to cause bad breath! So, even if you have your tonsils removed, unless you remove or hinder those anaerobic bad breath causing bacteria, your friends may still exhibit those tell-tale signs that you have bad breath!

Fortunately, getting rid of tonsil stones without surgery, is not that difficult…

There are a few select products that I recommend you use that will effectively eliminate tonsil stones without unnecessary surgery. What you need is something that will neutralize the anaerobic sulfur-producing bacteria on contact. For this I recommend a simple combination of AktivOxigen Tablets, Nasal Sinus Drops, and an occasional use of an Oxygenating Spray (http://www.therabreath.com/docs/tonsilstones.asp).

Keep in mind that following a regimen of using oxygenating oral care products, like toothpastes and mouthwashes, along with a tongue scraper, which effectively neutralizes the anaerobic bad breath causing bacteria from the very back of the tongue, will produce optimal results – stopping tonsil stones from ever forming again! Based on clinical tests conducted at the California Breath Clinics located in San Francisco and Los Angeles, most people following this formula reported a significant reduction or complete elimination of tonsil stones.

Insulin Resistance and Metabolic Syndrome Prevention and Treatment

It is estimated that 50 million Americans suffer from metabolic syndrome. By definition, metabolic syndrome is having any three of these ailments: insulin resistance, low hdl, waste circumference greater than 40 for men and 35 for women, elevated blood pressure and elevated c reactive protein. Alone each of these poses a great risk of mortality in people who suffer from them. The risk of cardiovascular death by tho afflicted with the metabolic syndrome is 3-4 times higher than just having one ailment alone.

The American Diabetes Association recommends diet and exercise as a measure to improve some of these conditions. As of 2009, there are no pharmaceutical products approved for treatment of insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome also known as metabolic syndrome x or insulin resistance syndrome. DHEA derived products have designed a global health platform which not only attacks the root of the problem but also assist patients by designing exercise tips, routines and diet plans for consumers. The conditions that make up metabolic syndrome all most derived from patients being overweight and worst of all being overweight in the visceral are. People who have visceral fat also known as belly fat have a much higher rate of death due to cardiovascular disease than those who carry weight in other parts of the body.

DHEA is very popular due to the vast amount of clinical research that has been completed for uses such as major depression as well as reduction of abdominal fat. Other natural products such as green tea and vitamin c are also linked to assist in reduction of abdominal fat.. Although there is no magic pill on the market, Biopharm Nutraceuticals recommends natural alternatives to prescription drugs. I do not support any specific brand as a medical professional, but what I do recommenced are the components mentioned above. One can buy them individually at any health food store or find a product as mentioned above that has all ingredients in one capsule in order to simply dosing. Although supplementation can assist in treating insulin resistance, there is not substitute for proper diet and exercise. I encourage readers o read the data on Google scholar on Green Tea, Dhea and L arginine and make an educated choice. For those of you with metabolic syndrome or any of the components, keep in mind that even a modest reduction in weight such as 5-6kg would reduce mortality in some cases by half.

Type 2 Diabetes – The Relationship Between Gluten and Diabetes!

Over the last several years there has been a huge interest in how gluten affects many different disease processes. Lots of people have found that a gluten-free lifestyle has rid them of issues like digestive problems and allergies. This leads one to wonder if there is any relationship between a gluten-free lifestyle and diabetes, Type 1 or Type 2.

Gluten is a protein which is found in barley, wheat, rye and all foods that are made with these grains. Many people with a gluten sensitivity have something called celiac disease which is a digestive disorder. When someone with celiac disease eats gluten, their body reacts by causing damage to the small intestine. They often experience such uncomfortable symptoms like abdominal pain as well as nutrient deficiencies caused by the body’s inability to make use of nutrients in the food.

It is estimated that about 1% of the total population has celiac disease, and it is more common in people who also have Type I diabetes. In fact, an estimated 10% of people with Type I diabetes also have celiac according to the American Diabetes Association. Type 2 diabetes is not strongly correlated with celiac disease, but it is possible for an individual to have both.

Unfortunately, the only way a person can manage celiac disease is by completely avoiding any foods that have gluten. Even a small trace of gluten is the same as having a huge plate of it in a person who has celiac disease. However, following a gluten-free diet will also prevent permanent damage to someone’s body and help them to feel better. Thankfully, there are many gluten-free alternatives available on the market today.

While not everyone who has problems with gluten has celiac disease, there are some people who have a condition called gluten intolerance. When these people eat foods that have gluten, they also experience some uncomfortable symptoms but tested negative for celiac disease. In other words, they don’t have actual damage that shows up in their small intestine.

For diabetics, going completely gluten-free might present its own set of challenges. It’s important to take a look at the ingredients in any gluten-free food before consuming it for the same reasons that you would be careful eating any other kind of food. Of course, natural foods like fruits and vegetables are always going to be gluten-free so they are a safe bet for someone who is experiencing these challenges whether they are Type 2 diabetic or not.

The key is to interact closely with your doctor about your concerns with gluten and how it relates to your Type 2 diabetes.

Obesity – Natural Herbs To Your Rescue

The traditional Ayurveda study favors the use of certain specific natural herbs for treating obesity or reducing weight. Garcinia Cambogia

This particular ayurvedic herb helps a great deal in curbing obesity by slowing down the process of fat production in the body cells. It so happens that the hydroxy-citric-acid a constituting element in this herb converts blood sugar into glycogen rather than in fat thus, being instrumental in weight reduction. Besides, it also controls the sugar levels.

Male Masturbation Concerns – What Men Should Know About Penis Rash and Soreness

Penis skin conditions are a common complaint; many men seek medical attention from a urologist every year for penis rash and soreness, irritation, and discomfort during or after masturbation or sex. While treating the area with a specially formulated health crème containing penis-specific vitamins and minerals can help to prevent drying and irritation and clear up minor skin conditions, it is also important to understand how these occur in the first place and why proper penis care is critical to sexual health. Some common symptoms and their causes are described here, along with suggestions on avoiding certain penis skin problems.

Penis rash that develops during or after masturbation or sex

Penis rash can appear as a pattern of small, raised bumps, sores, scabbing or a spreading patch of reddened skin. Rashes may be accompanied by itching and/or swelling, and the affected skin may be warm to the touch. Penis rash that develops during or shortly after masturbation or penetration may occur for the following reasons:

• Dry skin – Dry rubbing, oral sex and the bodily fluids of sexual partners can all dry the skin of the penis, causing minute tears in the outer layer of dermal tissue that may appear reddened, chapped and rough. High-quality moisturizers that are safe for sensitive erogenous tissue (such as shea butter, which is recommended for most skin types) can help to prevent dehydration and restore the natural moisture balance, leading to soft, supple penis skin that is highly responsive to stimulation.

• Contact dermatitis – Personal lubricants, spermicides, latex condoms, and even soaps and detergents can cause sensitive skin to react, resulting in rash, itching, and swelling of the penile skin. Men who are sensitive to substances such as these should avoid contact with them as much as possible and stick to non-reactive lubricants during masturbation. In addition, supporting the skin’s natural healing properties through the use of a penis vitamin formula may help to reduce the risk of developing penis rash and discomfort.

• Balanatis – Men with an uncircumcised penis are especially prone to skin infections of the glans, or head. This can become a particular problem as a result of frequent masturbation, which can further irritate damaged tissue and cause soreness, swelling and painful urination. Proper cleansing and treating the area with natural antibacterials such as vitamin A are recommended for avoiding this uncomfortable and embarrassing condition.

• Overuse – Whether or not a lubricant is used during masturbation or sex, frequent and aggressive rubbing can irritate the skin, causing soreness, redness and rash-like symptoms. Over time, excessive irritation of the penis skin can actually reduce the degree of penis sensation a man is able to experience, diminishing the ability to enjoy sexual activity. However, even those who are especially active can support overall skin and nerve health by promoting the skin’s regenerative properties through the use of moisturizers, antioxidants and rejuvenating nutrients such as vitamins, A, C, D, and B5.

Effective penile rash treatment for all skin types

Penis rash and soreness can cause ongoing discomfort and detract from the ability to enjoy sexual activity. Because rash-like symptoms can easily be mistaken for a sexually transmitted disease, they can also cause embarrassment and put off potential sexual partners. If left untreated, certain types of rashes may also spread, making them harder to treat. To avoid penis rash and soreness and to address a number of other male masturbation concerns, it is useful to treat the penis regularly with a specifically designed penis health formula (most health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) containing essential nutrients which are noted for their healing and skin rejuvenating properties. Men who develop a chronic rash or sores that do not heal should consult with a health care provider to determine whether a more serious condition is present and abstain from sexual contact until the problem is cleared up.

Psoriasis and Eczema – Don’t Panic! It’s Not Contagious

One of the many misconceptions about skin conditions is that they are contagious. Those who suffer with skin problems will understand how demoralizing this can be and it can make the situation feel so much worse. Whether you have psoriasis or eczema, some people will insist that it is contagious and promptly move away from you if they see visible unsightly skin in fear of catching it themselves. It is a harsh reality that some are still oblivious to the fact eczema and psoriasis are problematic only for the person with the problem, and not someone else they might be sitting next to.

The Tormenting Children

The worst thing is when you’re at school because things can get very tenuous and children go through that phase of rudely remarking upon other people’s misfortunes. If you have a child with psoriasis or eczema, you might have already experienced unpleasant comments being directed at your child who suffers with a few skin problems. Unfortunately, there isn’t really much that can be done about this during the schooling years, and it is really the teacher’s responsibility to make sure no child is being picked on for the way they look. It is true that psoriasis and eczema can alter one’s appearance, but it is only the surface of the skin that is affected and the person inside and natural beauty on the outside isn’t affected.

Adults Are More Sympathetic

When you get older, people are often less forthright in their commentary and remarks. Adults have a better understanding of when it is appropriate to speak, where as children do not. If children see someone that looks different to how they do, they will immediately remark and quite often believe the problem is contagious. Visible skin problems can leave people baffled as to what the issue is and some think that by touching someone else with a skin condition that they too will become infected. We must remember that psoriasis and eczema are not infections; they are skin conditions that can be kept under control with various products. In fact, one product that is taking the market by storm is a 100% natural soap that is relieving the misery of many dry skin sufferers.

Comfort Skin Sufferers

So, the moral of this story is to make sure everyone knows not to panic and think skin problems are contagious if they come across someone with psoriasis or eczema. Think about how the sufferer feels and how it can make them feel ‘different’ despite the fact they are just like everyone else. It is a sad reality that society is so focussed on appearance and anyone that doesn’t fit the mold is automatically excluded. You can do your bit though by comforting those with skin problems rather than running away from them…they’re human too.

Physical Or Mental Disorders – Depression

Studies have shown that depression due to gender bias, often gets in the way of correct diagnosis of psychosocial disorders. In one study, for instance, 175 mental health professionals those are suffering from depression or physical or mental disorder, of both genders, were asked to diagnose a patient based upon a summarized case history. Some of the professionals were told that the patient was male, others that the patient was female. The gender of the patient made a substantial difference in the diagnosis given(though the gender of the clinician did not). When subjects thought the patient was female, they were more likely to diagnose hysterical personality, a “women’s disorder.” When they believed the patient to be male, the more likely diagnosis was antisocial personality, a “male disorder.”

A major controversy regarding gender bias has been the inclusion of a “provisional” diagnosis for premenstrual syndrome(PMS) in the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders(fourth edition; known as DSM-IV). The provisional inclusion, in an appendix to DSM-IV, signals that PMS should come in for further study and may be included as an approved diagnosis in future editions of the DSM. In other words, PMS could be considered a mental disorder in the future. Depression may be a cause of premenstrual syndrome.

PMS is characterized by depression, irritability, and other symptoms of increased stress typically occurring just prior to menstruation and lasting for a day or two. A more severe case of PMS is known as premenstrual dysphoric disorder, or PMDD. The distinction between these disorders is that while PMS is somewhat disruptive and uncomfortable, it does not interfere with the way a woman functions from day to day; PMDD does. To be diagnosed with PMDD, a woman must have at least five symptoms of PMS for a week to 10 days, with at least one symptom being serious enough to interfere with her ability to function at work or at home. In these more severe cases, antidepressants may be prescribed. The point of contention lies in whether administering this treatment indicates that PMDD is viewed as a mental disorder as opposed to a physical disorder. The controversy involves the legitimacy of attaching a label indicating dysfunction and disorder to symptoms experienced only once or twice a month. Further controversy stems from the possible use(or misuse) of the diagnostic label to justify systematic exclusion of women from certain desirable jobs.

How to Overcome Fear of Surgery Easily

Many people are afflicted with a fear of surgery. An operation during which the surgeon actually cuts one open while one is still alive is a fearsome prospect. The very fact of needing to undergo this dire procedure seems to imply that one’s condition is dire. Some people panic at the thought of being put under anesthesia, and the loss of control that this entails. Others worry about the possibility of the surgeons or other clinic employees making a mistake. They are plagued by sinister memories of that childhood board game, “Operation.” Whatever frightens you the most about surgical procedure, one thing certain: dwelling on the frightening aspects of surgery for too long can and does often lead to a full-scale phobia of surgery.

Operation Phobia Harms Recovery

This terror of surgery serves patients ill indeed, if they find themselves in a situation that requires them to undergo a life-saving operation. Though generally safe, an operation is, by its nature, a complicated and stressful procedure. Many operations require powerful anesthesia that puts a considerable amount of stress on the patient’s body. Moreover, the procedure does require that the patient actually be cut open. Although the patient won’t be awake during the procedure, his or her body will definitely feel the stress. For the surgeon, the procedure is stressful because time is of the essence. It’s unsafe for the patient to be under anesthesia for too long. Thus, the team of surgeon must complete the operation within a very definite time limit–without making any mistakes.

A deep phobia regarding the procedure on the part of the patient will make the entire process even more difficult for both the patient and the doctors. The patient’s body needs to use all of its resources to deal with the physical stress of being drugged and cut open. It cannot afford to waste any of its energy responding to the patient’s mental stress. Plus, fear on the part of the patient makes the surgeon’s job more difficult than it already is.

Techniques To Conquer Your Fear Of Surgery

Have you been gripped by terror because you’re about to undergo a surgical operation in the near future? Or, perhaps, you don’t have anything wrong with you that requires an operation yet, but you’re afraid of the possibility of having to undergo one in the future? Do you wish there were a way to “convince” yourself not to have this dread, which you know is irrational? Do all your attempts to talk yourself out of your terror simply fail, in the face of its magnitude? Fortunately, there are a number of therapeutic techniques that do just this.

NLP And Hypnotherapy Help Overcome Phobias

NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and hypnotherapy are great ways to help patients overcome irrational, mind-based fears. The NLP therapist uses a number of techniques to help you isolate your fear and understand it rationally. Using a combination of hypnotherapy and talk, the therapist can condition you to respond differently to the idea of surgery. With NLP, you will identify the mental patterns in yourself that lead to panic; then, you will learn how to quickly transition from panic to calm. You’ll probably overcome your fear of surgery after only four sessions, at most.

Anxiety: 11 Signs You May Be Suffering From Anxiety or Panic Attacks

Do you often feel nervous? I’m not talking about the nervousness of doing something new or heading into surgery. Anxiety in small doses is normal and healthy. It’s constant anxiety and its evil cousin panic attacks which you want to avoid.

Anxiety and panic attacks can be totally overwhelming. And unfortunately if you don’t deal with the underlying problem, they just get worse.

Everyone has different reactions, but these are some of the most common symptoms:

1. A racing heart and a feeling of shortness of breath.

2. Uncontrollable fears of everyday activities like driving or speaking to a group of people.

3. The overwhelming feeling that something bad is going to happen if you don’t do a task exactly correct.

4. Racing thoughts that refuse to let you concentrate and make you worried that you may be going crazy.

5. Finding yourself repeating yourself over and over or twitching some part of your body almost to relieve “excess energy.”

6. A feeling of impending doom. Such as a heartache, car accident or natural disaster. When I suffered from panic attacks I was constantly worried about terrorist attacks (and this was before 9/11).

7. Numbness in your hands, fingers, toes, and legs, or a weakness in your knees or legs.

8. An inability to swallow or excessively dry mouth.

9. Fear of strangers or sometimes any people around you.

10. Staying in your home “because its safe.” Leading to an inability to leave.

11. Overwhelmed by even the most basic tasks that you used to complete with ease.

Many symptoms of anxiety and panic disorder can also lead to panic attacks. The good news is there are ways of treating the underlying causes and to remove any of the negative effects of the anxiety.

Unfortunately, if left untreated, anxiety and panic attacks tend to become worse. The anxiety exhausts you and then leads to more anxiety and then panic attacks.

A main cause of anxiety tends to be diet. By avoiding sugar, caffeine and a few other over stimulating foods and chemicals, much of the effects of anxiety can be relieved.

The underlying cause of anxiety is often an incorrect association in the mind. By using various therapy techniques the incorrect association can be corrected and the panic attacks relieved.

The more you know about anxiety and panic attacks the faster you can find relief.

If you suffer from some of the symptoms above, seek professional help.

Natural Sleep Remedies – Products & Internal Sleep Remedies and Methods

Insomnia is an unpleasant experience to go through. As I’ve said before I had it several times in my life. The worst had spanned for over 2 months. It began with a few sleepless nights. I had though that it was some stress related problem and ignored it thinking it would go away, but as days turned into weeks I began to lose my mind (or at least I though so). I just wasn’t able to sleep! The entire ordeal had driven me into a state of a nervous breakdown. I began doing things I had never done before including praying which I had never done since I was a kid. That is how desperate I was to stop this nightmare.

Those who had experienced insomnia for a long period of time, no doubt in my mind can relate to these feelings that I just described. It’s a terrible thing to go through period. What’s worse is that far too many people are experiencing it and though many doctors prescribe sleep aids (drugs which are basically tranquilizers in my opinion), the fact is this problem is PSYCOLOGICAL and not physical.

The best ways to beat this problem is doing one of these 4 things:

1) Exercise. If you come home from work and are feeling stressed, take a walk outside or jog for a little while. This could even be in the middle of the night if you can’t get any sleep. Exercising helps you release all you’re built up stress and transform it into physical activity. Thus after you’ve completed a workout you feel at ease. It doesn’t even have to involve doing a rigorous workout. When doing so let your self go mentally meaning stop thinking about your problems. Avoid taking sleeping pills because they do nothing but act as a tranquilizer which doesn’t solve your problem.

2) Talk! Speaking to someone about the problems you have mentally releases your stress and helps you relax. You can talk about anything just as long as you put the emotion into it WHICH IS WHAT COUNTS! Don’t underestimate the power of words, they can have great influence!

3) LAUGH! Laughing raises your spirits and your mental health which influences everything else! These methods are very therapeutic and have a positive effect on your subconscious health.

4) Crying helps too believe it or not. Remember an event in your life which made you cry? And after you had cried you slept like a baby? I can almost guarantee that at everyone has had this happen at least ONCE in their life. This is no accident. When people cry they release their emotions and built up stress which why you sleep like a baby afterwards. Its like rain washing away the dirt leaving a cleansed land which is basically your mind and soul.

5) I mentioned how talking to someone helps greatly but if you don’t have anyone to talk to and can’t go outside, read a book or turn on the television. If you choose to turn on the television don’t watch what’s on. Simply lay down and keep the volume low (ex: look at the ceiling while you’re listening to the television). This method allows your mental state to focus on one thing and ignore most other problems consuming your mind. Once you feel sleepy turn off the television and go to sleep.

Natural Products that help you sleep well:

1) Valerian Root

2) Drinking a cup of warm milk with a tablespoon of honey before bed. This I believe has a better effect. Whenever I would have problems sleeping, I would drink this and fall asleep without even knowing it, sleep a full 8 hours and wake up rejuvenated!

3) Pouring cool water (recommended to be around 65 degrees) into a bucket and standing in it. Make sure the water is around 3-4 inches deep. Stand or sit while your feet are in the water for around 5 minutes then dry your feet and go to sleep. I still have a very hard time understanding why and how this works but it does. I’ve tried doing this procedure on several occasions and it has worked out miraculously. (People may vary so be careful if you try this, I’ve personally never met anyone who has had problems from this method, but the reason I say be careful depends on the person. Ex: An elderly person stepping into cold water can quickly affect them (temperature change) and can potentially be dangerous so if you are unsure consult with a doctor!)

NOTE: Every person is different as are their problems. That is why it is important to try different procedures if one does not work, particularly A-D because they are more associated with mental health and therefore have a much greater impact than methods E1-3. Though these methods also help greatly.

I hope that each of you who reads this article who suffers from insomnia or knows anyone else who suffers from it can fix your/their problem and return to a state of healthy sleep!

Often a slight smell might come from under the nail. Slight pain when walking on the infected nail is not uncommon.

Treating Your Black Spot Under Your Toenail

It’s important you understand that part of treating your toenail fungus is to take preventative measures from ever getting back. You’ll need to understand the sources of nail fungus. Wearing tight shoes that have excess moisture leftover in them is one way to get infected. Make sure you air out your shoes if they’re exceptionally wet from sweat, wear loose shoes, and get extra absorbent socks to prevent moisture build up. Wear sandals whenever possible around public pool area, gyms, and public showers. Lastly, make sure you do not cut your nails too short. Short nails may cause minor cuts to the toe and increases risk.

There are a few treatment options for nail fungus. I found that prescription drugs were too risky and had many unpleasant side effects including possible liver disease. Over the counter medications did not really help at treating my problem either.

What finally worked for me was dipping my infected nails in store bought beer for 30 minutes per treatment at two treatments a day. This works because beer eats away at the fungus. After my beer treatment I then applied a natural topical solution. This treatment remedy, along with preventative measures, finally cured my nail fungus.
