Hepatitis – Low Cost Drugs in Pakistan

Hepatitis is fatal disease of liver and in Pakistan there are millions of hepatitis patients. The hepatitis  drugs  are very expensive and ordinary poor Pakistani can not afford them and died as result. A large batch of interferon injection produced indigenously by researchers in Pakistan for the poor patients of hepatitis will expire in December 2010 due to indifference attitude of authorities. Research work was done at the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMP) and Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC) in 2008 where interferon was replicated to reduce the cost of hepatitis.

Hepatitis C is the number one killer disease in Pakistan and infected predominantly, if not exclusively the poor and middle-class people. The group cloned interferon injection to make it available in the local market at the price far lower than that of imported vials of the injection.

Import bill of interferon was Rs 1.1 billion in 2005, Rs 1.4 billion in 2006 and Rs. 3 billion in 2009. Despite the massive spending only five per cent of hepatitis patients got properly diagnosed and treated while 90% died. Recently all the brands are beyond the reach of poor people.

The proposal for indigenous production of interferon has been pending with the federal ministry of health and the Pakistan medical research council (PMRC). If delay persists, 100000 interferon injections produced a couple of years ago will expire next month, resulting in the wastage of research effort and material resources.

Hepatitis C patient had to take three injections per week and the treatment continued for 6 to 18 months, depending on the intensity of the virus. On an average, the diagnosis and follow-up cost more than Rs 50000 per patient, with total cost of treatment often amounting to Rs 150,000. a dose of local interferon cost Rs 70 whereas the price of the imported medicine was Rs 6000 to 9000.

A researcher said that if and when this research, which led to the indigenous production of 18 imported pharmaceutical proteins, was allowed to reach the poor patient, Pakistan would benefit greatly in the shape of foreign exchange savings and minimising the suffering of millions.

Lahore High Court on 12 November 2010 issued notice after petition filed that health ministry be directed not to create hurdles in the production of locally produced hepatitis medicine. Justice sought a written reply form secretaries of health and science and technology and executive director of the Pakistan Medical Research Council.

This is really depressing situation because in Pakistan there are more than 12 million patients of Hepatitis and government is not doing enough for those people. Now, when researches successfully made a low cost medicine for poor, indifferent attitude of government machinery not allowing them to use.

Natural Herbal Medicine – 100 Percent Homemade Remedies

You don’t want to have to make a doctor’s appointment every time you have a cold, sore throat, flu, or fever. The insurance co-pays and other costs associated with a medical visit can really add up. You could be overlooking a simple solution that you can supply yourself with at home. Alternative herbal  medicines  may be the answer for you.

Facts about Alternative Herbal  Medicines

Nothing can be safer to use than herbal  medicines . In fact, many physicians suggest them to their patients to aid in their recuperation. You can make herbal  medicines  yourself in your own kitchen or you can buy supplements from local health food stores.

Just like buying any other product, be sure to check herbal  medicine  labels carefully to see that they were produced by a known and reputable company. Unfortunately, like in any other market, there are unscrupulous companies out there that produce inferior products with no redeeming health benefits. If in doubt, you could mix your own supplements at home using ingredients that are 100% natural.

The Importance of Preparation

When making your own herbal supplements at home, it’s imperative that you use fresh, clean ingredients. Do not use metal or stainless steel mixing bowls or spoons as they could impart chemicals into your preparation. Just like when baking your own homemade goodies, preparation and planning are important elements to preparing your own herbal remedies. Don’t be afraid to mix up natural ingredients at home. You will find it both refreshing and cost-saving.

Anti-Oxidants – Garlic, Onion, and Pepper

Did you know that many of the common spices we keep in our kitchens contain antioxidants? Among the spices that produce wonderful antioxidant benefits are garlic, onion, and pepper. Why buy expensive drugs when these inexpensive natural ingredients will work wonders for your health? Instead of buying expensive diet supplements that claim to rid your body of toxins, just clean and chop up some of these all-natural foods and reap the health benefits.

You can add antioxidants to your diet by simply adding garlic, onion, or pepper to your prepared meals or by making a health drink out of them by boiling them, then straining them and drinking them hot or iced.

Ginseng: The Best  Medicine

One of the most widely touted herbal  medicines  used today is Ginseng. This root has an extensive history of being used for medicinal purposes in Asia and is now quite popular in North America as well. Known as a panacea, Ginseng is used to reduce stress and help the body relax. It is also used to assist the body in disease recovery.

So many people today suffer from high cholesterol but don’t want to take the prescribed drugs that could have adverse effects on their livers. Ginseng has been proven to lower cholesterol in patients with high blood pressure. Not only can Ginseng improve the body’s resistance to colds, infections, and other common health problems, but it is also used to improve mental performance and physical stamina.

Medical Call Centers: Calling Services for a Hospital

The inner workings of a hospital are of an intricate nature. Everything going on inside should be played out according to the book in order to ensure that it runs smoothly. It is quite important that this be done because aside from just the reputation of the hospital being on the line, even the very lives of their patients are at risk, all based upon how the hospital functions. From the management of equipment to ensure that it functions correctly and does not fail, all down to the taking down even minute information on what is going, everything must be kept precise when in a hospital setting. That is why it is important to keep all records and files, information on patients both new and old, in check when it comes to how a hospital runs.

With that in mind, medical call centers could be one of the best solutions to helping out a hospital with keeping their records in check, allowing them to employ a work force that does not have to be part of the team within the hospital. Because a hospital can only employ a certain number of staff and have to utilize all of the space within their facility to the fullest, they really cannot afford to have their own in-house call centers. But through the services of a medical call center, they can have the luxury of employing a team of callers to do all the needed calls to keep the flow of information steady. They can make use of these teams to handle patient follow-up calls in order to remind patients of pending medical appointments, or even for just checking-up on patients at regular intervals.

That being said, medical call centers can also function for the purpose of telemarketing. On that note, medical telemarketing can be a great way for hospitals to look for investors. Utilizing the information gathering skills of telemarketers and their respective medical call centers could truly play out to the advantage for hospitals. As time stretches onward, hospitals will eventually need to find new investors, those who want to sponsor programs so that the hospital can start new drug trials, purchase new equipment, or open new departments, even for research and development. Although a hospital looks like it makes a lot of money in the process of taking care of patients, the fact is that it also spends a lot of the money it makes to keep it running. The influence of private investors can really help uplift a hospital’s situation and give it the opportunity to get the needed funding which can be used for their intended purposes. Making contact with outside investors is an important part of how private hospitals, and even government-funded ones, can gain resources. In this way, medical call centers are flexible helpers to hospitals that need it.

But aside from just hospitals, medical call centers and medical telemarketing can also be utilized by companies that market to hospitals! Medical telemarketing can serve a wide array of companies within the medical industry, one such function being lead generation for medical leads. Medical telemarketing is the way to go when you need calling services within the medical industry.

Difference Between Allopathic and Holistic Medicine

You may hear various difference terms when looking at treatments for your conditions. Two of the most common forms of treatment are allopathic and holistic medicine. In this article we will consider what each of these types of medicines are, where you will hear them mentioned and also what the significant differences between them are.

What is Allopathic Medicine?

Allopathic medicine is a term that is used to describe medical practice where a condition is treated with a medication that is designed to kill the illness. This may sound very familiar to you and it is largely because most of conventional medicine is effectively allopathic. You doctor will not tell you he is using allopathic medicine however that is what he is doing. You are more likely to hear the term when you visit a homeopath and that is largely because the differences are marked. In homeopathic medicine you will be given a substance that contains similar elements to your condition rather than those picked to kill it.

What is Holistic Medicine?

Holistic medicine is again quite a general term but it is a form of therapy that treats the person as a whole. Many alternative therapies are thought to be holistic. The aim with holistic medicine is to treat the mind, body, emotions and all elements of a person in order to bring about health. For example in a treatment like acupuncture the therapist will consider you, your background, how you react to things and your symptoms. This will allow them to develop a treatment plan that is specific to you, including your emotional, mental and physical needs. When looking into alternative therapies you will hear this term mentioned a lot of the time and so it is important to be aware what it is.

What is the difference between Allopathic and Holistic Medicine?

The main difference between allopathic and holistic medicine is the way in which treatment is approached. For example in allopathic medicine the aim is to treat the condition and to prescribe things to help you get rid of it. In holistic medicine although the aim is to also clear up a condition the focus is different. In allopathic medicine a doctor will focus on the condition only however holistic medicine will focus on the person, how that person reacts to that condition as well as their history.

It is worth mention that both of these terms are very broad and cover a large number of different therapies and treatments but that the general principles are the same based on which type of medicine it is. In addition if your doctor is prescribing allopathic medicine for you then it may be possible to use holistic medicine alongside this so that you can get the maximum benefits for you and your condition.

As you can see from the above, the concepts of allopathic and holistic medicine are quite different. It does not mean that one is better than another just that the focus is different. If you are looking for treatment it is important to make an informed judgement on what you are going for and to discuss with as many professionals as possible. It is also important to find a reputable therapist to ensure you get the best possible treatment

Cosmetic Fillers For Wrinkles

If you have wrinkles, there are options other than just accepting them. One involves the use of cosmetic fillers. Also called dermal fillers or injectable fillers, these are substances that get injected into the skin. Some last for a few months. Other can last over a year. But they are not perfect, so make sure you have done your research before considering them.

Facial fillers can be used for different types of lines, including frown lines or parenthesis lines around the mouth, and crow’s feet around the eyes. Many fillers use hyaluronic acid. This is a substance that is found in Restylane, Juvederm, Captique and Perlane. All these fillers last for about three to four months. They are not cheap. The cost varies depending on where you live and who your cosmetic surgeon is. Generally the cost is between $500 and $900 for a syringe. Collagen is another type of cosmetic filler that has been around for awhile. Results with this also last for several months.

There are also longer-lasting wrinkle fillers. These are made of different chemicals. Sculptra or NewFill is one such filler. It can be used for more than wrinkles, including hollowed areas. Radiesse is also a long-lasting filler, as is ArteFill. These types of wrinkle fillers are more expensive. They cost between $1000 and $2000 for a syringe. The number of syringes depends on how large an area is being filled.

Cosmetic fillers are being used in different ways. They are being used for so-called crow’s feet or wrinkles around the eyes. They are being used for frown lines or marionette lines around the mouth. They are being used to fill in lines and wrinkles in the forehead and neck. Some fillers are used to plump up areas on the face as well.

Although dermal fillers might seem like a cure-all, they do have risks. It’s not only doctors who are using dermal fillers, but you need to make sure that you use someone qualified, such as a board certified cosmetic surgeon. You can have an allergic reaction to cosmetic fillers. The reaction could be severe in some cases. If you do not see a qualified cosmetic surgeon, you may wind up with scars, lumpy skin or uneven areas. After an injection, there will be swelling and redness. If it does not subside, contact your doctor.

You will also need to find some way to pay for cosmetic fillers, as they are not covered by health insurance. Since the results generally don’t last forever, the price could add up.

A Big Fat Lie – Time Heals All Wounds

Are you familiar with the phrase “Time heals all wounds?” This is one I often hear people say as they try to brush aside traumas and hurts in their lives.

But it is one of the most destructive cliches, simply because it sounds so close to the truth that it is difficult to spot the big lie here.

At risk of sounding too philosophical, time is an artificial structure that we have created, much like state or country lines. (Have you ever seen a state line? I used to look for them on the ground when I was a kid.)

What I say to clients when they say “time heals all wounds” is that time doesn’t heal anything, time simply passes. It is what we do with our lives while time is passing that either helps us, heals us or keeps us stuck.

In my work over the years, I have noticed that some people seem to have an ability to accept the hurts and disappointments of life and then move on. They have a certain resiliency.

Others seem to stay stuck in their pain, living as if the painful events of their lives had occurred just moments ago.

As I sought to understand the strategies of these different types of people, some interesting differences made themselves clear.

What follows are lists of strategies for how to remain miserable and then strategies for how to heal, move on, and thrive.

How to stay miserable

o Complain about the unfairness of it all. (“This should not have happened” – “How could anyone do such a thing?”)

o Organize your life around the event, trauma or injustice. Make it a central theme in your life. Talk about nothing else. Bore your friends.

o Remain bitter and unforgiving. A wise friend of mine once said, “Not forgiving someone is much like trying to crush a sandspur between your fingers. You might eventually do it, but it sure is going to hurt.”

o Become a victim. Give up your power to take responsibility and control over your own life.

o Play the scene over and over in your mind. Keep thinking of what you should have done or what you should have said.

How to movz on, heal and thrive

o Talk about it. Many of us mistakenly believe that if we keep it inside it won’t bother us. Quite the opposite is true. Remember the character -Tom Wingo in “Prince of Tides” and the damage done by not talking about the trauma that had happened in his family? Many times, getting it. out in the open can make it manageable.

o Forgive those involved. Forgiving does not condone what someone else did, it simply releases us from the pain of their actions.

o Most importantly, follow this favorite advice of mine:

“Make a place for the event in your life and then put it in its place.”

It’s important to remember that it did happen and it did affect you. At the same time, its place is in the past, much like a chapter in a book you have read and choose not to read again.

o If you find yourself wanting to but unable to follow these suggestions, you may want to get professional help putting the past behind you.

Emotions Are Messages

Emotions are real, there is no question of how large a part of our life they are, but here I propose that there is much more to emotions than just feelings.

Emotions are really a message, rather than a feeling. They are not caused by a reaction to another person or event, rather they are messages telling you about the person or event. They say to stay or, to go away. The problem is that we do not fully understand the functionality of emotions, and the vast array of what emotions are so we do not get the message when we are feeling.

Emotions are a wide range of different faculties which we group into one, and thus do not gain the benefits of having the multiple uses. The analogy is having four fingers and a thumb, yet binding all your digits together so that you effectively only have the use of what would be one big fat finger.

The emotional faculty which I like to call an organ in the body of the mind, is a complex organ. It serves many functions such as your ears and nose serve their obvious purposes yet also are necessary to hold up your eye glasses. They serve multiple purposes that for people with good eyesight are irrelevant, or only become relevant at a certain point in life. The emotions organ is similar, although far more complex. It has several functions which we need to use throughout our life, different functions at different times.

Sadly no one teaches us about the true and varied nature of our emotions and so we function with it bound together. The problem with it being bound up is that each of the aspects of the organ continue to function but since we are unaware of the multiplicity of its uses, we take each function in respect to the uses we are familiar with and get the information wrong.

If you do not know that your phone has a ring tone of some beautiful music, you will just enjoy the music but never answer the phone.

Our lives are limited, we all will admit that. At the same time, most people know that they are capable of so much more, yet are limited by the lack of intuition or ability to sense trouble or opportunities and act appropriately. We know we can do and be so much more than we are, and this article is about one of the reasons I believe this is so.

Let us now examine a few of the functions of the emotion organ. The first is the obvious, we feel emotions in situations of love and that gives us a wonderful experience. No need to discuss that further in this article. We also have emotions of fear, which can be good or bad depending on if the fear is realistic and helps us stay safe, or if the fear is imaginary and just paralyses us from doing fun or beneficial things.

This article is about the aspect of our emotions which is a communication method with intuition. I believe that the majority of our emotions are just messages and not feelings at all. You may think you are feeling, and of course being an emotion you are quite certain that this is an emotional experience, but in fact you are missing the point.

What I mean to say is that when you have a feeling, everything is the same, but you are not actually feeling something, rather it is a message you are hearing. We get stuck because we ‘have a feeling’ and then we get emotional, which takes our mind and concentration away from the situation and then we miss out on something important.

Rather, depending on the situation, I view the emotion as a message and do not get caught up in the emotional feeling. Of course this is only applicable to certain situations, remember that the emotion organ has many uses and now I am speaking specifically about situations in which the emotions are a message about what is the right thing to do. If I get caught up in the feeling, I miss the message and take the situation personally, which leads to other emotions and takes my mind on a journey of imagination which can make a person think all sorts of things and get upset over nothing.

You may be familiar with how an event can trigger an emotional response which you then let build in your mind and create a much larger situation and emotional reaction than the objective reality called for. This usually results in some disaster or big fight.

If, on the other hand, you could get the feeling and react to it objectively without becoming emotional or feeling attacked, you could remain calm in any situation, make wise decisions, and continue the day without becoming upset, hurt or insulted. In fact, some people can stay in negative moods for days or weeks all due to a simple event that triggered an emotion which they built up in their mind.

The analogy is the benefit of pain. If you put your hand on a hot stove, you would feel pain and quickly remove your hand before it gets cooked and destroyed. Pain is a message of danger that you should follow to for your own safety. Leprosy is the disease which cuts off the pain sensors. Lepers loose their limbs because they cannot feel pain and so do not know when they are in danger or a problem is occurring until it is too late.

Consider your emotions to be a message about how you should deal with a person or situation rather than taking it personally as if it is all about you personally. Your emotional reaction is not always appropriate and costs you the guidance of your intuition and higher wisdom.

Next time you feel insulted, hurt, uncomfortable or any of those common emotional feelings, take the view that it is a sharp stick prodding you in a certain direction, the stick and the person prodding you are not trying to hurt you, they are trying to guide you. This way you can get a bad feeling, or feel attacked then quickly disarm any negative emotional response in your own mind by objectively seeing the situation and what the feeling could be indicating about the other person or situation.

When you understand this concept, you will find that you have eliminated a large amount of your negative emotional experiences. Learning how to understand our emotions and intuition is like target shooting. You must see where each arrow hits the target so you can adjust for the next shot to get a bit closer to the bullseye. If you turn away before the arrow hits, you will never improve.

How to Control Fear During an Emergency

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear. -Mark Twain

Fear is nature’s guardian that warns and alerts us to real or perceived dangers. Knowledge of fear is essential to survival since fear can sabotage the ultimate weapon of our intelligence making years of self-defense and emergency survival training useless. This is why understanding how to train our response to fear is one of the most important survivals skills.

Fear of a real or imagined threat triggers the autonomic nervous system to prepare the human organism for sudden and frantic activity. Known as the Fight or Flight response, this survival mechanism prepares the body to either, flee a potential predator through the hazards of open terrain in a race for survival, or to face the predator in a life or death battle. In either event, the body must be able to call on every ounce of energy and numb any pain that might interfere with running or fighting.

The autonomic nervous system consists of the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous systems. The sympathetic is responsible for preparing the body for action, while the parasympathetic is responsible for preserving energy.

A threat will cause the sympathetic nervous system to signal the endocrine system to release hormones causing a series of reactions:

• Increased heart rate to increase the flow of blood throughout the body

• Respiration is affected either by hyperventilating or holding in the breath

• Arteries dilate to increase blood flow to the surface to provide the anticipated demand of oxygen from the muscles. (This can be observed by the face becoming flushed)

• Body temperature increases producing sweat, and body hair may become erect

• Blood flow to the digestive organs is restricted to provide more blood to the muscles, the stomach may suddenly feel nauseous, and vomiting is not uncommon

In addition, the adrenal glands increase the availability of blood sugar (glucose) to release stored energy. This process is akin to revving the engine and feeding nitrous oxide into the fuel mixture. Endorphins, whose molecular structure closely resembles morphine, are released into the brain to numb the anticipated pain of injuries and fatigue.

However, the body cannot maintain this heightened state of readiness for long. Soon the parasympathetic system is triggered into action to counter all the changes caused by the sympathetic system: Heart rate is reduced, breathing becomes shallow, gasping, with frequent sighing, and the mouth becomes dry. Blood is drawn in towards the inner body restricting the flow to the brain, which may cause dizziness, spots in peripheral vision, and   fainting . The face becomes pale and waxy and body temperature drops. The digestive system may suddenly kick in resulting a bowel movement or release of the bladder.

For a short period the two systems alternate back and forth in a battle for control of the body’s nervous system, a battle always won in the end by the parasympathetic. All these opposing responses can take place in a matter of minutes.

Fear prepares the body for action. The accompanying increase in strength, pain threshold, and endurance can be lifesaving assets. It is not something we want to do without. However, too often fear turns to panic and it is then that fear becomes a liability.

The problem exists not in erasing fear entirely, but rather a delicate balance of enhanced awareness and body readiness, combined with a detached self-control. There are three quick techniques to help you lessen fear.

Breath Control

Fear triggers the instinct to make as little noise as possible and focus on the possible threat. This instinct was a benefit to our ancient ancestors huddled in the bush and hearing a twig snap in the darkness signaling an approaching predator. To make as little noise as possible we do two things, we freeze, and hold our breath.

To reduce system noise made by the respiratory system we either hold our breath or breathe shallowly. However, holding the breath for too long while the sympathetic nervous system is stimulated causes a sudden demand for oxygen. The signal to breathe is overstated and, instead of regular breathing, a person may begin to hyper-ventilate.

Hyperventilating reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the bloodstream. The body needs a certain amount of CO2 and a rapid drop of it constricts blood flow to many vital organs. Constriction of blood vessels in the brain will cause dizziness, disorientation, and may lead to loss of consciousness. Reduced blood flow to the heart muscle may lead to chest pains. The high oxygen level can make one nervous and edgy, and cause a feeling of `pins and needles’, muscle spasms, nervous twitches, and even convulsions. The effect of a lack of CO2 also contributes to panic attacks.

Breath control is the best technique to reduce fear. Simply being aware of the tendency to hold your breath when frightened will help you re-establish normal breathing rhythms.

Whenever you feel frightened or anxious you should establish a regular deep breathing pattern. Focus on your abdomen and take three short breaths holding each for one second before exhaling. On the fourth breath, begin deep breathing at a medium tempo. Inhale as slowly as possible up to a count of five, then hold the breath in for a count of three, then exhale for a count of five. Be sure that the length of inhalation is equal to the exhalation. Abdominal breathing will help you remain calm and reduce feelings of fear.

The instinct to freeze when frightened results in tense muscles which will interfere with natural reactions and adds to the anxiety by reinforcing fear in a bio feedback loop. To break this loop you need to relax and loosen up. The first place to start is with the shoulders. Most people will raise their shoulders and pull their chins in when frightened. Pull your shoulders down and relax the muscles of the neck and shoulders. Do a couple of quick shoulder and neck rolls then shake out your arms and hands. Pull your head up and chin out. This posture is associated with confidence and will help dispel anxiety.

The instinct to freeze when frightened is epitomized in the metaphor of a deer caught in the headlights. Startled by a car traveling down the road, a deer will often freeze in the middle of the road to its demise rather than run off into the safety of the bush. Likewise, many people will also freeze into inaction during a threatening situation. To break this instinct one should simply move. Rather than just wait in dread, go into action. Either go to the rescue or evacuate the scene. Doing something will lessen the dread of fear and help to restore confidence.

Whether you are in an accident, natural disaster or predatory attack, remember to breath, relax, and take action to ensure your and your family’s safety.

Cancer – We Know the Cause and the Cure

One has to wonder why after the billions of dollars put into research and development of  cancer  treatments it is reported that you have a higher chance of getting  cancer  today than you did in 1950. As a matter of fact if you are diagnosed with  cancer  today your chances of survival are what they were in 1950, in a lot of cases, most in fact.

Our health care system and our government have been lying and misleading the public about the effectiveness of the traditional medical treatment for  cancer . Chemotherapy, drugs, surgery, and radiation are the most profitable health industry services and products on planet. There is more profit in the treatment of  cancer  than any other disease. Most of us have no idea what a big business this is. Some families make billions of dollars a year in profits from treating  cancer . When we say treating  cancer  that’s exactly what is meant. There is much less profit in curing it. Think if we cured  cancer  now so that  cancer  were eradicated from the planet trillions of dollars would be lost! And the treatments are government mandated. So those at the top of this economic pyramid would rather you had  cancer  than not. You are forced to treat it in the manner that makes money for those who profit from disease. And that is obviously true since they actively keep alternative cures off the market or make it very difficult to provide and to choose an alternative method to cure  cancer .

With any disease if you find the cause then the cure follows. So, then what is the cause of  cancer ? Researchers tell us that we don’t know the cause. That is just not true. According to “Natural Cures They Don’t Want You To Know About”, by Kevin Trudeaux, “The causes of  cancer  are known at the highest levels of the health industry, and this information is being suppressed and hidden from the American public. This is exactly the same situation that occurred with big tobacco and with Ford and General Motors. Big tobacco knew as early as 1950 that their product caused  cancer  and disease. They lied about this to the American public, and even in congressional hearings. They hid the truth. Ford and General Motors knew that some of their products, including the Pinto and Corvair, would cause people to be maimed, deformed, injured, and die. They hid this information and lied about it. Today, the pharmaceutical companies and the heads of various organizations know the various reasons people come down with  cancer . They have this empirical data, but they are lying about it and hiding this from the public.”

There are those such as Kevin Trudeaux and Dr. Hulda Clark who are actively getting the word out and helping numerous people.

Dr. Hulda Clark has been doing extensive research and actively curing this disease for many years. Below is taken from The Cure for All  Cancers , which you can purchase from the [http://www.drclarkuniversity.org]

“The Cause

The Cause For many years we have all believed that  cancer  is different from other diseases. We believed that  cancer  behaves like a fire, in that you can’t stop it once it has started. Therefore, you have to cut it out or radiate it to death or chemically destroy every cancerous cell in the body since it can never become normal again. NOTHING COULD BE MORE WRONG!

And we have believed that  cancers  of different types such as leukemia or breast  cancer  have different causes. Wrong again!

In this book you will see that all  cancers  are alike. They are all caused by a parasite. A single parasite! It is the human intestinal fluke. And if you kill this parasite, the  cancer  stops immediately. The tissue becomes normal again. In order to get  cancer , you must have this parasite.

How can the human intestinal fluke cause  cancer ? This parasite typically lives in the intestine where it might do little harm, causing only colitis, Crohn’s disease, or irritable bowel syndrome, or perhaps nothing at all. But if it invades a different organ, like the uterus or the kidneys or liver, it does a great deal of harm. If it establishes itself in the liver, it causes  cancer ! It only establishes itself in the liver in some people. These people have isopropyl alcohol in their bodies.

All  cancer  patients have both isopropyl alcohol and the intestinal fluke in their livers. The solvent, isopropyl alcohol, is responsible for letting the fluke establish itself in the liver. In order to get  cancer , you must have both the parasite and isopropyl alcohol in your body.”

From the book “The Cure for all  Cancers .” Page 1.

 Cancer  can now be CURED:

From the book The Cure for All  Cancers :  Cancer  can now be CURED, not just treated. We are not accustomed to thinking about a cure for  cancer . We think of remission as the only possibility. But this book is not about remission. It is about a cure. This is possible because in 1990 I discovered the true cause of  cancer . The cause is a certain parasite, for which I have found evidence in every  cancer  case regardless of the type of  cancer . So lung  cancer  is not caused by smoking, colon  cancer  is not caused by a low-roughage diet, breast  cancer  is not caused by a fatty diet, retinal blastoma is not caused by a rare gene, and pancreatic  cancer  is not caused by alcohol consumption. Although these are all contributing factors, they are not THE cause. Once the true cause was found the cure became obvious. But would it work? I set a goal of 100 cases to be cured of  cancer  before publishing my findings. That mark was passed in December, 1992. The discovery of the cause and cure of all  cancers  has stood the test of time and here it is!

It is the pollutants in food and other products that leave us vulnerable to parasites and disease. Dr. Clark has invented a device called the Syncrometer, which is used to identify various toxins in food and products and ourselves. She has also developed a device called the zapper which kills the parasites in the body.

From the book “The Cure for all Diseases.” Before contents, by Dr. Hulda Clark, and also available at www.drclarkuniversity.org or www.drhuldaclark.org .

“You may not have time to read this entire book first if you have  cancer  and are scheduled for surgery, chemotherapy or radiation treatment. You may wish to skip the first pages which describe how  cancer  develops.

Go directly to the  cancer  curing recipe and order your supplies. Using the herbal recipe together with the zapper is best. It only takes days to be cured of  cancer  regardless of the type you have. It does not matter how far progressed the  cancer  is, you can still stop it in 5 days.

After you have stopped the  cancer , you can turn your attention to getting well. Read the case histories to see how easy it is to stop even terminal  cancer . Learn from them to avoid mistakes.

Does this mean you can cancel your date for surgery, radiation or chemotherapy? YES! After curing your  cancer  with this recipe it cannot come back. This is not a treatment for  cancer : It is a cure! But if you do not wish to make your doctor angry, you could follow her or his wishes, too. Be careful not to lose any vital anatomical parts in surgery though, because you may need them later when you are healthy!

Remember that oncologists are kind, sensitive, compassionate people. They want the best for you. They have no way of knowing about the true cause and cure of  cancer  since it has not been published for them. I chose to publish it for you first so that it would come to your attention faster.”

Different solvents accumulate in different organs, in the liver, Isopropyl alcohol, which completes the life cycle of Fasciolopsis, intestinal fluke. This begins the malignant process.

From the book Cure For All Diseases, also available at www.drclarkuniversity.org:

…The killing of all parasites and their larval stages together with removal of isopropyl alcohol and carcinogens from the patients’ lifestyle results in remarkable recovery, generally noticeable in less than one week.  Cancer  could be eradicated in a very short time…

The success rate for advanced  cancer  is about 95%. So you can count on this method, not merely hope it will work for you. It is a total approach that not only shrinks tumors, but also normalizes your blood chemistry, lowers your  cancer  markers, and returns your health. The small failure rate (5%) is due to clinical emergencies that beset the advanced  cancer  sufferer. However, if you combine the advice in this book with access to hospital care, even “hopeless” patients can gain the time necessary to become well again.

The promise

Step into a new world a world without chronic diseases. Step out of your old world. It has kept you a prisoner. Try something new.

The prison has no walls. It has only lines; Lines that mark the ground around you. Inside the lines are your old ideas. Outside are new ideas that invite you to step over and escape your prison. Dare to try these new ideas and your illness promises to recede. In a few weeks it can be gone.

I highly recommend any of Dr. Clark’s books. They are remarkable and once you read them I believe you to will be convinced that the cause and the cure are now readily available and very affordable. In the Cure for All Diseases you will find cures for  cancer , diabetes, MS, and many, many others it is a book I would not want to be without. If you already have  cancer  you might want to also pick up The Cure for All  Cancers , and or the Cure for All Advanced  Cancers .

Focusing On Inclusion In All Aspects of Life

Terry Mackey thought he understood the world of  disabilities ; after all, he had been in the field for many years. But, until he became the father of five sons, three of whom have developmental  disabilities , he didn’t really grasp the issues people with  disabilities  and their families face every day. As Mackey has gone from member to staffer to chair of the Missouri Planning Council for Developmental  Disabilities  (MPC), he has gained considerable insight.

The MPC — one of 55 such councils in the US — is a federally funded, 23-member body made up of people with developmental  disabilities  or their families, as well as representatives of involved state agencies. The council’s mission is to advocate for people with developmental  disabilities  and influence public policy that affects them. There are 4.5 million people in this country and more than 100,000 in Missouri who have a developmental  disability : a long-term condition, with onset before age 22, that limits development and the ability to engage in the everyday activities of life.

“In a perfect world,” says Susan Pritchard Green, executive director of the MPC, “people with developmental  disabilities  would be able to work, live wherever they choose to live, access public transportation, and have systems in place to support them in their communities.” In other words, they would be included in all aspects of life, which is the reason the councils were created by Congress in 1970 by the Developmental  Disabilities  Assistance and Bill of Rights Act.

People with developmental  disabilities  know what they want,” says Pritchard-Green. “It is simply a of matter of asking.” That is exactly what the council did. In 2005, it embarked on a two-year, statewide needs assessment. With assistance from other agencies and UM, the council gathered information from 1,700 Missourians with developmental  disabilities  and their families through focus groups, surveys, and e-mails. From this exhaustive study, council members met and drafted a five-year strategic plan with specific goals and target dates. Narrowing down the concerns of so many people was a formidable task, but some priorities clearly stood out.

Employment was one. “People with developmental  disabilities  want the opportunity to support themselves, to have the dignity of saying this is who I am; this is what I do,” says Terry Mackey. “People are tired of feeling dependent on the whims of the legislature, the economy, or some organization’s budget.”

Shelly Shetley, the current chair of the MPC, agrees. “People with  disabilities  can work and want to work,” she says. “The problem is that most people with  disabilities  are on Medicaid; and, if they go to work, they have a chance of losing it. Medicaid pays for our medical expenses. Not many people can afford to lose it. But even when we do work, we often don’t earn enough to make up for what we’ve lost.”

Another high priority for council members Gary Stevens and Sharon Smith is helping the general public feel more comfortable with people with  disabilities . Stevens is a self-advocate who has been on the council for eight years. He travels all over the state, meeting people and learning about their needs. He has learned a lot, he says. “People with developmental  disabilities  have to go out in the community. We have to let ourselves be seen, and people have to make it their business to talk to us. I’m just like everybody else,” insists Stevens. “I’m friendly; I have a good personality. Just say hi. I won’t bite.”

Sharon Smith, also a self-advocate makes very sure people know who she is and what’s important to her. Hand-lettered on the side of her wheelchair are these words: “My name is Sharon. I have cerebral palsy. I can think for myself. I like to be independent. I love God and my parents.”

To address these and other priorities, MPC has instituted a number of projects across the state.

People First is a self-advocacy and self-help organization that empowers self-advocates to speak for themselves, make decisions, and implement plans. “Like MPC members, their goals are to be included in their communities and have real jobs,” explains Joann Noll, former chair and chair-elect of MPC. “We have had people with  disabilities  and council members help establish chapters in several communities. Most of those organizations are still in existence, and some of them are stronger than ever. Their members have an important message and express it powerfully.”

Partners in Policy Making is an innovative leadership-training program that teaches self-advocates and family members of young children with developmental  disabilities  how to become leaders in their communities. The program is based on the belief that the most cost-effective and enduring public-policy decisions are made by people who use the services and who form partnerships with elected officials, school personnel, and other decision makers. Noll observes that some of the parents and people with  disabilities  who have graduated from this program are now powerful advocates for change in their own communities.

Missouri Developmental  Disabilities  Resource Center (DDRC) helps guide families through the  disability  experience with a network of support options, information, referrals, and volunteer opportunities. An invaluable resource for in-depth research on a wide range of  disability-related  topics, DRC is free to all Missourians.

Sharing our Strengths, a part of DDRC, is a support network for families, self-advocates, and professionals. “While there is one in almost every state,” according to Susan Pritchard-Green, “Missouri’s system is not just family-to-family, but also people with  disabilities  to others with  disabilities . This is the peer-mentoring component of the program. However a person comes to us, we can set him up with the appropriate type of mentor.”

These initiatives barely scratch the surface of MPC’s statewide efforts. While the needs of people with developmental  disabilities  may seem daunting, they are exactly what all people want — to live and participate fully in their communities and to have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

Gem Therapy

Their rarity adds to their value and only the wealthiest and most powerful families could procure and possess them—-as an expression of this wealth and power, even men would wear gemstones on their person.

Along with gold and silver these precious stones formed part of the financial reserve of the ancient and medieval kingdoms. All great rulers adorned themselves in rubies, pearls, and diamonds set in gold crowns and silver necklaces. The gemstones made a king stand out among his subjects and clearly projected his wealth and power to them.

But there were other reasons for these precious and semi-precious stones. Each gem, due to its cut clarity and inherent color, is supposed to transform the flow of natural light, which affects the aura (inner glow) around a person. According to astrologers and gem therapists, each person’s aura depends on the planetary positions on their birth chart (janam patri), and to a lesser extent on the way his/her personality develops. Any deficiencies in the personality, problems in career or relationships, or imbalances in the make-up of the body can be corrected by wearing the correct gemstone.

The kings of the past, apart from the fields of battle and diplomacy, secretly took recourse to magic and spells against each other. These gemstones gave protection against such evil spells and rituals. Although those days are long gone people still put much faith in the power and efficacy of gemstones on a person’s destiny and personality. Since there is no harm to others or self, and no law is being broken (except common sense), wearing gemstones for spiritual or religious reasons need not be frowned upon. At different times I have been advised to wear, and have worn, pearls, sapphires, and rubies—-usually when things are not progressing at work or in relationships or there is an unusually long spell of disease.

The gemstones worn externally as ear-rings, necklaces, and crowns, affect the aura of a person. The ancient Indian astronomer-astrologer Varahamihira compiled the Hora Sara listing the various gems and their properties and uses. This information has been supplemented by works produced in other cultures and is (claimed to be) backed by modern research on the chemical/physical qualities of gemstones. The stones advised by astrologers must be worn as rings, specially hollowed out so that the skin is touched, to be really effective.

The following is a list of gemstones and their therapeutic value (with the Hindi names in italics):

1) Pearl (moti)–a white stone that improves memory, cures eye-troubles, is helpful in treating tuberculosis, and gives mental peace.

2) Emerald (panna)–a green stone said to cure heart troubles, diseases of the nervous system, blood pressure, and nose problems.

3) Hessonite (gomed)–an orange-brown stone (hence the name go-medh or cow’s urine) that cures external burns and treats acidity. It also helps is easing pains and cooling the body.

4) Ruby (mani)–a red stone that elevates a person’s status and makes him/her sociable and happy. It also cures rheumatism, stomach ache and ulcers.

5) Coral (munga)–also a red stone that is useful in treating diabetes, piles, blindness, impotency, and measles.

6) Blue Sapphire (neelam)–a blue stone that cures nervousness and mental disorders, meningitis, and treats kidney and bladder troubles.

7) Cat’s eye (lahsuniya)–a yellow/gold colored stone is useful in treating cancer at all stages.

8) Diamond (heera)–a transparent stone that prevents formation of pus and mucous, cures diabetes and STDs.

9) Yellow Sapphire (pukhraj)–a yellow stone that cures cholera and jaundice, and is useful in treating throat and teeth troubles.

These qualities are not medically proven and their use depends on the belief of an individual. However these stones should not be purchased or worn by merely reading through the list above. Gem therapists and astrologers are willing to provide gems on loan for the period that they advise. Although it’s obvious that many people are in this for the money there are some reputed astrologers who take back the stone once it has been used for no charge, while others actually return money if the stone has not taken the desired effect.

Topical Remedies – One of the Finest and Most Effective Ways to Overcome Knee Joint Pain

To understand knee joint pain in a better way, it is very important to know about the components of the knee. The femur, which is the thigh bone, and the tibia, which is the shin bone meet at knee joint. These are connected together by ligaments, and the knee cap covers the joint.

The joint is divided into three compartments, which are medial, lateral and the patellofemoral. The medial is the inner side of the knee, lateral is towards the outside of the knee, while the patellfemoral is the area behind the kneecap.

Synovial fluid is a liquid which lubricates the joints and provides it with essential nutrients. While the synovial fluid reduces friction between joints, it also acts as a shock absorber and ensures smooth functioning and movement of joints.

When there is a problem with any of the components of the knee, it can cause pain, and one of the reasons could be extended or intense physical activity. Nevertheless, one can be inflicted by knee joint pain irrespective of his levels of physical activity, and at any age.

The underlying causes of knee joint pain could be strains, ligament sprains, muscle tears or even meniscus within the joints. Alternately, knee joint pain may be caused by more severe conditions, which could be bone fractures, dislocation, or ailments like osteoarthritis.

With some regular activity and exercise, muscles around the knee joint strengthen, and if one’s activity levels are lower, he could be more prone to knee joint pain. But it works both ways. If one is suffering from knee joint pain, it could be indicative that the knees might have been overworked, and activity levels must be reduced.

When one suffers from knee pain, it is invariably recommendable to avoid some exercises until you recover completely, and these include any high impact activities that can put strain on the knee joint. In such a scenario, one must avoid flexing exercises, and anything that involves squatting, jumping and running. As an alternative, one could go for low impact exercises, such as swimming and walking.

In some cases, knee joint pain calls for specialized medical attention, and one should consult with a physician if the knee joint pain persists for long. Similarly, medical attention could become necessary if one suffers from an accident, if there is any sort of deformity in the knee, or if swelling in the knee becomes worse over time.

Topical remedies are nowadays gaining great prominence for people suffering from joint pain. And a simple topical remedy can go a long way in ensuring relief from pain and everyday well being, allowing a person to do more by letting him be fitter and more energetic.

One of the key advantages of going for a topical remedy is that the medication acts locally on the inflicted area, and chances of occurrence of any side reactions are thus minimized. This is in contrast with the oral medications, which have an effect on the entire body and could at times be associated with side effects like nausea and drowsiness.

Topical remedies are thus considered as the best remedies for people on the go, as you can use these and carry on with your day. Regular use of a topical medication would not just help one overcome the pain, but by facilitating proper movement of joints, would allow the joints to heal and strengthen over time.

Claims For Compensation For Whiplash Injury

Accident Claims for whiplash injury has been in the spotlight over the last 12 to 24 months due to the rapid increase in the number of claims.

The public’s attention has once again been captured by the press as a result of headline accusations from the car insurance industry that lawyers and the number and value of personal injury claims for road traffic accidents are the main drivers for the dramatic increase in car insurance premiums in the last 24 months.

In this article I want to focus on the main issues involved in bringing a claim for whiplash injury as I’ve already previously addressed in a separate article the issue of whether there is any merit in the insurance industry’s latest attack on solicitors and personal injury claims generally in respect of the rise in car insurance premiums.

What Exactly Is Whiplash Injury?

Whiplash is not a medical term but it has been adopted because it best describes the mechanism of the injury. The injury is caused by a combination by hyperextension followed by hyperflexion i.e the head – which is heavy in itself – being thrown backward and then snapped sharply forward.

This type of injury therefore refers to injury to the cervical vertebrae (the neck) which may be either soft tissue injury such as a muscle, or more serious injury such as bony damage to the structure of the vertebrae (dislocation and or fracture) itself. An injury of this type can have varying symptoms which are discussed below, from mild stiffness to more serious nerve damage that causes problems to the area of the body that the damaged nerve serves.

How Is Whiplash Injury Caused?

The neck region, referred to as the cervical vertebrae, is made up of seven vertebrae with 32 different joints that’s supported by muscles, ligaments and tendons. It is therefore a complex structure that makes it very versatile but also very vulnerable to injury.

With such a complex joint and soft tissue (muscles, ligaments & tendons) structure, no 2 injuries are the same.

Whiplash injuries are extremely common in road traffic accidents where the head is thrown rapidly in one direction and then jolted into the opposition direction. The most frequent cause of claims for whiplash in car accidents is due to rear-end shunts, often while in a stationary position such as whilst waiting at traffic lights or at a round about.

Symptoms of Whiplash Injury

There’s a wide spectrum of symptoms for whiplash, from mild soft tissue injury that causes stiffness and muscular pain in the neck region, to headaches, dizziness and blurred vision.

More serious injuries can result in fractures and dislocation of the vertebrae itself which may result in permanent damage and can in some instances cause paralysis and nerve damage affecting different parts of the body depending on which vertebrae has been damaged.

It is also common for victims of whiplash to feel fine immediately after the accident but often display symptom after 24 to 48 hours after the accident.

What Is The Treatment For Whiplash?

Assuming that the injury is very moderate involving soft tissue injury, recovery often simply requires time and gentle exercise in the form of slow controlled rotational exercises and anti inflammatory medicine to reduce the initial swelling.

Treatment by a physiotherapist will help to speed up the recovery process for more severe soft tissue injury cases.

The duration of time for full recovery various significantly with each case from as little as 5 or 6 days to several years for more severe problematic cases. However, as I’ve already mentioned, for the unfortunate few, there can also be permanent damage with no prospect of recovery.

What Is the Compensation Value for Whiplash?

As with symptoms of whiplash, the value of whiplash claims vary enormously from case to case depending on the severity of the symptoms. However, for convenience the values of typical claims have been grouped into the following categories to give you some idea of the compensation value:

1. Minor Whiplash Injury

Pain lasting from 1 week up to 12 months – 800 to 3000.

Pain lasting for up to 2 years – 3000 – 5000.

2. Moderate Whiplash Injury

Pain lasting for a few years with threat of pain returning – 5000 to 8,500.

Permanent or reoccurring pain and stiffness – 8500 to 16,000.

3. Severe Whiplash Injury

Neck pain is severe with permanent damage to the cervical vertebrae – up 95,000.

The above figures are for guidance only and claims can be achieved outside of the ranges provided. For example, someone who is paralyzed will achieve an award of compensation well in excess of the severe guide provided above.

In addition, bear in mind that the above figures only related to compensation for “pain, suffering and loss of amenity”. It does not take into account loss of ability to earn an income or loss of earning claim which often make up the most significant head of claim in personal injury compensation.

Why Have Whiplash Injuries Received Such Bad Press?

The difficulty is that medical experts can not objectively determine in minor whiplash cases whether a Claimant has genuinely suffered injury since there are no physical manifestations of injury that can be verified by the naked eye since the injury is soft tissue damage below the surface of the skin.

As a result, a few unscrupulous individuals seek to take advantage of this and submit claims knowing that it is difficult for medical experts to say one way or the other whether you are telling the true about the symptoms complained about. That unfortunately, has resulted in whiplash claims getting a very bad reputation as it’s an easy target for fraud.

In closing I would just like to add some clarification on an issue that causes Claimants a lot of confusion. Insurance companies have a habit of mis-guiding its policy holders on their freedom to choose who to instruct as their solicitor. To set the record straight you are not obliged by law to go with your insurer’s choice of solicitors i.e one of their panel lawyers. You would be well advised therefore to seek specialist personal injury help and assistance from a lawyer that specialising in the area of law that is particular to your complaint.

8 Critical Cold Sore Stages

Let’s look at the 8 distinct cold sore stages, and what you can do now to lessen the severity, discomfort and length of your cold sore event.

Cold sore stages 2-8 are the active stages and are very contagious during this time. Usually 3 to 4 weeks is the average life-span of a cold sore. Much depends on your health and choice of treatments for each of your cold sore stages.

COLD SORE STAGES: #1 – LATENT – Here the cold sore herpes simplex virus is hiding in the nerve ganglia near the back of the jaw on the same side as your cold sore usually appears. The cold sore virus may “sleep” for weeks or years without incident. Your body’s defense “soldiers” keep them in check. When there is stress in another part of your body, your defenses may drop at this location. Then the cold sore virus can escape and travel to the surface to reproduce – beginning the active cold sore stages.

COLD SORE STAGES: # 2 – PRODROME – The cold sore virus reproductive cycle begins here. The cold sore virus travels down your nerve fibers to the surface. This movement causes your cold sore target area to itch or tingle. You may notice a burning or dryness sensation. This stage could last a few hours to a few days before entering the more intense cold sore stages.

COLD SORE STAGES: # 3 – INFLAMMATION Your cold sore virus has now arrived at the surface and begins it’s reproductive cycle by entering the cells at the end of the nerve. This causes a lot of swelling and redness at the cold sore site as your cells react to being invaded by the herpes cold sore virus .

COLD SORE STAGES: # 4 – PRE-SORE – Cold sores at this stage are defined by the appearance of cold sore vesicles. A full blown cold sore is not one big blister but a grouping of small blisters called vesicles. You will notice these vesicles as tiny, hard pimples or red bumps that are painfully sensitive to the touch.

COLD SORE STAGES: # 5 – OPEN SORE – Your most painful and contagious of the cold sore stages. All the vesicles break open and merge to create one big open, weeping sore. Depending on the severity, you may develop a fever and swollen lymph glands under the jaw.

The weeping fluid is teaming with newly born cold sore viruses. Touching this fluid, you could easily spread the cold sore virus to another part of your own body or to someone else – either by direct touch or shared objects such as hand towels, telephones, and faucets.

COLD SORE STAGES: # 6 – CRUSTING – A cold sore will develop a yellowish crust or scab as it begins to finally start the healing process. Your cold sore is still painful at this stage. More painful, however, is the constant cracking of your cold sore scab when you move or stretch your lips, as in smiling.

COLD SORE STAGES: # 7- HEALING – Cold sores, once scabbed over, begin healing from the inside out. As new skin forms under the crust, you will experience continued itching, irritation and some pain. Your cold sore virus is now retreating back to the nerve ganglia area where it will sleep until the next opportunity.

COLD SORE STAGES: # 8 – POST SCAB – Cold sores at this stage no longer have a visible cold sore scab and your skin has totally healed. Under your new skin, healing is still taking place as the destroyed cells are regenerated. This produces a red spot that may linger for another 2 to 14 days – depending on your personal healing speed. You are still contagious until this red spot disappears. This waiting is the most frustrating of the cold sore stages.

Cold sore over-the-counter medications, experts agree, are primarily comfort treatments for the cold sore stages. Some contain numbing agents that greatly reduce your pain. Some cold sore medications contain an anti-bacterial to prevent secondary infections. None of these cold sore medications have been shown to actually shorten the life-span of any of your cold sore stages.

Medical science has been working feverishly on a cure for the herpes virus but have not, as yet, had any real success in developing an effective cold sore remedy. Prescription anti-virals, both the oral versions and the topical salves, have been a dismal failure for the most part. Vaccines are being tested but are 3-4 years out yet. New breakthroughs could be just around the corner however.

But you don’t need to wait!

More and more doctors now agree. There are times when natural science just seems to be the best choice. Often our ONLY choice. This is certainly true – right now – for herpes cold sores.

Data studies have shown natural science remedies can reduce the cold sore events by as much as 79%.

Yes! And, in fact, actually prevent your cold sores from taking place altogether.

The great news – these remedies are available to you today.

If you are a cold sore victim, you would be well advised to look into these powerful natural remedies without delay for shortening or preventing your cold sores.

How to Measure Yourself For a Mens Leather Jacket

If you are planning to buy a mens leather jacket online, you need to be sure that you are ordering the right size, and that it really will fit you. For this reason it’s wise to measure yourself correctly before you make your purchase.

You will need a tape measure and a pencil and paper to note down the various measurements. Usually it’s also easier if you get someone to help you and ensure that the measurements are in fact correct. And be sure to make a note of which part of your body you are measuring.

There are several different measurements that you will need to take. These include:

• your chest measurement,

• your waist measurement at the point of your belly button,

• your hip measurement at the hip bone,

• the measurement around your torso at the point where your bottom is its largest (that will usually be a little below your hips bones),

• your shoulders, from your neck to the top of your arm,

• your arm (which is where the sleeve of the jacket will be) from the center of your collar bone to your wrist,

• the distance between your collar bone and your waist, and

• the distance between your collar line to your crotch (which is known in tailor language as the inseam).

Just remember that whichever part of your body you are measuring, the tape shouldn’t be too loose, and it also shouldn’t be too tight. If it digs into your skin you’ll think you are smaller than you really are, but there’s a good chance your new mens leather jacket won’t fit.

Of course you could also go and try on a few different types and sizes of jackets to see which size is generally the best. Just be sure to include the style you are likely to opt for.
