Diabetes – Signs of Diabetes

Diabetes is now becoming increasingly widespread across both adults and children. A lot of this is down to obesity and the vast amounts of sugar and refined white flour that is in our diet these days, but how do we know if we have diabetes and what are the signs of diabetes we need to look out for?

Well first of all lets get an understanding of what diabetes is. The first thing we need to understand is that there are two types of diabetes. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin, and type 2 when the body’s cells don’t respond well to insulin. Both result in high blood sugar levels because the body is unable to process the available glucose.

At one time type 1 was known as juvenile diabetes as it was mainly found in younger people, and type 2 was expected to be found in older people, but this is not necessarily the case now. At present it is not really known what causes type 1, but it occurs when the immune system attacks the insulin-producing part of pancreas. With this form of diabetes, the beta cells of the pancreas no longer make insulin because the body’s immune system has attacked and destroyed them, this leads to this form of diabetes being controlled mainly by insulin injections. Type 2, which is probably now the most common type, is often caused by poor diet and obesity. Quite often you can control this type of diabetes with a combination of dietary treatment, tablets and injections and, frequently, insulin supplementation.

So now we know what the diabetes type are what are the signs of diabetes to look out for? The signs can be very similar in both type 1 & 2 due to the drop in blood sugar levels. This could be down to a lack of insulin production, no production at all or simply, insulin resistance. The symptoms to watch out for are as follows

Extreme thirst

Frequent urination especially at night

Tiredness

Unexplained weight loss

Blurred vision

If you spot these symptoms happening to you consistently, then you must see a doctor as soon as you can. Whilst diabetes is very treatable, it is also very severe if left untreated and can lead to blindness, amputation, heart disease, kidney failure, erectile dysfunction and other problems.

Skin Rash Awareness

Epidermis/skin is the outermost barrier protecting the body from the harmful effects of the outside world. From time to time your skin may develop rash like symptoms. Simply put your skin is being affected by the outside environment and has developed a physical manifestation known as a symptom.

Typically rashes develop due to a skin irritation caused by various irritants. Rashes are not generally serious and typically disappear, in a relatively short period of time, with proper care and use of standard home therapy’s. In cases where a rash does not go away or the skin becomes so irritated that medical care is needed you should consult your skin doctor or dermatologist right away.

Most common rashes are often caused by contact with a substance that irritates the skin this is called contact dermatitis. These types of rashes typically begin within 48 hours of contact with the irritant. Contact dermatitis symptoms include redness of the skin or a rash of small red bumps. More severe symptoms include; swelling, redness, and large blisters. Based on the location of the rash you may be able to determine the cause.

Contact dermatitis may not occur do to contact with an irritant. Once you have had rash symptoms caused by an irritant, a rash can even occur in response to very minimal contact. Contact dermatitis is not considered serious, but can leave you feeling uncomfortable or itchy.

Common irritants that develop contact dermatitis include:

· Some types of Jewelry and fabrics.

· House hold items such as; soaps, detergents, shampoos, perfumes, cosmetics, or lotions.

· Drugs, over the counter and illegal drugs

· Poisonous plants, such as poison ivy or poison oak.

· New tools, toys, appliances, or other objects.

· Allergies to natural rubber or latex can affect people who are exposed to large amounts of rubber products on a daily basis. These Latex reactions can become very severe.

Rashes can be signs of a chronic skin problems, such as acne, eczema, or psoriasis.. Extreme conditions whether hot or cold can also be a cause to skin rashes. Anxiety or high levels of emotion such as frustration or embarrassment are also known to develop skin rash reactions.

Rashes are known to appear after exposure to insect bites or parasites. Rashes may develop when traveling to remote areas.

Rash symptoms can accompany viruses, such as; fungal infections, herpes and other highly transmitted infections. Some rash symptoms can be caused by more serious diseases, like; kidney disease, some forms of skin cancer and liver disease.

Medications have also been known to cause rash like side effects and in very rare cases using sulfa type drugs have been known to cause a large red rash called toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), which can cause the skin to dissolve leaving large open areas that ooze similar to a serious burn. If you believe you have this type of rash see a skilled physician immediately.

Medical treatment for rashes depends on the symptoms that are present. If multiple symptoms are present including; shortness of breath, fever, or tightness of the chest or abdomen may be the cause of a serious allergic reaction and immediate medical attention should be sought after. Check your symptoms and compare with what you others may know to determine the direction you should head.

Bruised But Not Beaten

Bruised But Not Beaten

By Daveda Gruber

“Bruised but Not Beaten”, is a very heartfelt emotional book presented to us by Daveda Gruber. She is a mother, wife, and poet who share with her readers some of the tragedies that she has endured in her life.

This book is written in poetic form as Daveda knows how to share it best. She starts off this heart- felt journey by letting her reading audience know that “Even Angels Cry”. Tears certainly will flow as you journey with this writer through the courageous wording of this book.

Bruised from the “Mortal Lies”, told year after year, Daveda pens it out for her readers. Her bruises and tears are poured out page by page. Doomed promises and shattered dreams are etched on the mind of the writer. Yet she allows it to be released in this her twelfth book.

She also shares with us how life became rough through controlling situations. You will read and see how words, conveyed harshly, certainly does bruise one’s spirit, and also caused this angel to have “A Torn Wing”. We will learn that once harsh words are spoken out they can’t be retracted. Bruised, yes but still we see how this writer was not beaten.

We continue to see how one could leave footprints on the inside of one’s heart through the reading of this book. Reality is seen and felt along this journey. Many will even find themselves identifying with pains and emotions of this writer. It is truly hard to live on the battlefield of war lingering in your own home. The writer seeks for answers in “Knowing My Fear”. In this lovely Chat Royal I can hear her cries to the Lord longing for an escape out of this situation. Yet will she find it? I ask, or will she continue to stay in the relationship to make the best of her marriage?

The writer continues to capture the souls of her audience in “Evil’s Last Touch”. She now sees herself as a victim of crime fighting for her soul. Where will she find refuge? Will she continue to have a will to live or will this be her final death? Bruised yes but all the while still not beaten. Will she triumph? Will she be able to say “I Danced” as she does her best to find an escape from all of these inward bruising? Then the writer wants to know, what does her own children think in, “Do They Know How I Feel”? We see how the bruising not only affects the writer but other loved ones involved in her life.

I found “Bruised But Not Beaten”, to be a very emotional write. It is one many can identify with and yet find healing through the voice of someone else who has lived it too. It is a great book to enhance your reading library.

Hip Fracture Attorneys

Hip Fracture Attorneys in Illinois

Commonly referred to as a “broken hip,” is a break in the thigh bone, known as the femur. Where in the femur the break occurs depends on the type of trauma that caused the break. Typically, those who suffer from hip fractures are 65 or older and there is a high mortality rate as a result. However, hip fractures can occur in younger people but they usually due to a more severe trauma such as a high force collision.

What is a Hip Fracture, technically?

The head of the femur looks like a ball and it fits into a socket in the pelvic bone. This is called a ball and socket joint. While the majority of hip fractures occur at or near the head of the femur, they can also occur just below the femur’s head (called a femoral neck hip fracture) or just below the neck (called an intertrochanteric hip fracture).

What are the Symptoms of Hip Fractures?

The most common and obvious symptoms of broken hip are pain in the hip area and leg, caused by the fractured bone moving around and causing tissue damage. Another symptom is weakness in the area. Some sufferers may experience one or the other or both of these symptoms.

Other symptoms may also depend on the type of fracture. If the fracture is a displaced fracture, that means the bone separates at the point of fracture and the sufferer cannot walk or stand. The affected leg will likely appear shorter and the foot will often be turned outward when the person is lying down.

If it is an intertrochanteric hip fracture, the fractured portion of the bone can damage blood vessels, producing bleeding inside the hip and loss of blood pressure. Ultimately, the sufferer will feel dizzy and weak and may develop a large bruise in the area.

If it is a femoral neck fracture, the blood supply to the head (ball) of the femur can be affected, causing arthritis. Ultimately, the sufferer will feel pain and discomfort during activity.

How is a Hip Fracture Diagnosed and Treated?

To diagnose a hip fracture, your physician will take a medical history and then likely take multiple x-rays. If the fracture cannot be detected from an x-ray because it is too small or difficult to locate, your doctor may order a CT scan (Computed Tomography) or MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).

To treat a broken hip, sometimes all that is required is a splint or cast followed by physical therapy if the fracture is mild.

However, other times, immediate surgery may be required. Pins, screws, and plates are inserted into the femur to prevent motion at the fracture site so that the bones fuse back together. Depending on the severity, a person may require a walker for some time after surgery. In other cases, a person can be walking immediately or a few days after surgery.

Other surgeries involve the femoral head, neck, and socket being completely replaced (called a total hip replacement) with a medically manufactured neck, ball, and socket that is then screwed into the shaft of the femur.

Pain medication is also commonly prescribed to treat a hip fracture. It is important to note that such medication can affect the mental abilities of the patient and sometimes older patients can become confused and disoriented.

The healing process can result in long periods of immobility, disrupting normal daily activities and sometimes leading to blood clots and lung infections (pneumonia) as well as depression in patients.

What are the Causes of Hip Fractures?

The most common cause of a broken hip is a fall but other causes include normal aging (as the bones become brittle), osteoporosis (bone thinning from loss of calcium), tumors, a forceful collision, like an automobile accident, or other stresses from normal activity, such as walking or running.

Were you Injured at Work?

If you fell at work, possibly from a great height, or were struck in the hip region with great force while at work, you may be awarded compensation for future medical expenses by the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. This will depend on a doctor’s diagnosis that future treatment, from cortisone injections to a total hip replacement, may likely be required at some point. Because a hip fracture may lead to a person being unable to walk as they once did or perform their job in the same way, future medical expenses such as physical therapy and vocational rehabilitation may also be awarded.

Attorney’s Fees

If you were injured at work, your workers’ compensation attorney should work on a contingency basis. Or, if you were injured in an accident, your personal injury attorney should also work on a contingency basis. Contingency basis means that you pay nothing unless get something. So, if you recover an award or settlement, your attorney is paid from that amount. If you get nothing, your attorney gets nothing. There is no cost to you.

When Good Bugs Go Bad

When Good Bugs Go Bad

Small bowel overgrowth (SBO) is a condition of the small intestine that allows too many bacteria, typically Lactobacillus, to develop and thrive. “So what”, you ask? Well the “so what” is that Lactobacillus bacteria are not welcome in that area. They compete with the host (that would be you) for food and the bacteria typically win the fight. Remember that bully in grade school who would always swipe your PB&J from you? You got pretty hungry by the end of the day didn’t you? It’s like that with SBO because if the bacteria eat your lunch repeatedly you run the risk of malnutrition and a host of unpleasant symptoms.

The small intestine is where the digestion and absorption of your food occurs. Digestion breaks down your meals into the basic carbohydrate, fat and protein macronutrients that a healthy body needs to function at optimum efficiency. As food moves from the early part of the small intestine (duodenum) through the middle (jejunum) and latter parts of the small intestine (ileum), the bacteria increase from relatively small numbers until they reach their highest levels in the large intestine, the colon. In the small intestine, enzymes, acids, hormones and other chemicals manufactured by the body are added to the food mixture (now called chyme) and are there to help digestion and absorption. The presence of these digestive juices, especially the acid, is why only a few bacteria would be expected to be found in a healthy small intestine.

The colon is where all the unusable material from your food is collected and where the bacteria are most numerous. The water content of this material is about ¾ of the total mass. Of the remaining ¼, approximately 30% is bacteria by weight. The bacteria would include the lactobacillus and other probiotic species as well as approximately 400 other species. The weight of all the bacteria in the gut is about 15 pounds. The large intestine is where the bacteria belong.

The beneficial effects of this large biomass on human health cannot be underestimated. The bacteria promote a cleaning of the intestinal cells, manufacture some vitamins like riboflavin, thiamine, B-12, and, perhaps most importantly, produce vitamin K, which is important in blood clotting and bone formation. Short chain fatty acids (used as a fuel for colonic cells) are also produced. The downside of all this bacterial activity is the amount of toxic waste produced while the bacteria work for us. If the toxins build up, it definitely would qualify as a Superfund site.

In a normally healthy gut, when intestinal cells are functioning in an optimal fashion, the cells are able to absorb the bacterial toxins and neutralize them directly or pass them on to other sites in the body for detoxification. We get sick when the cells and body can no longer neutralize the poisons such as when pathogenic bacteria are present in overwhelming numbers (Montezuma’s Revenge) or when the normal ratio of “good versus bad” bacteria is altered (dysbiosis). If the toxins accumulate without control, and the acid/base balance in the colon is significantly altered and disrupted, serious diseases like cancer can result.

We see a decrease in the numbers of the good bacteria, and the development of dysbiosis, in those cases where there is an overuse of antibiotics, antacids, NSAIDs, poor diet, lack of proper nutrition, stress, or in association with hidden food allergies. When colonic dysbiosis occurs, the symptoms you see would include the typical non-specific bloating, gas, diarrhea (sometimes constipation), nausea, and general malaise. There are instances in gut ecology where, because of changes in the intestinal environment, bacterial populations, especially the probiotic Lactobacillus, can migrate into the small intestine. Environmental changes in the gut can happen because of aging when gastric acid production is in decline. As the stomach acid reduces more Lactobacillus survive the journey through the stomach and into the upper gut and it is easier for them to thrive there. The elderly are more prone to SBO than a younger population and, as a result, develop more issues with nutritional deficiencies. Environmental changes can also happen in cases of pancreatic insufficiency with diseases like pancreatitis or liver diseases like hepatitis. Diabetes, cirrhosis of the liver, Crohn’s Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, intestinal surgeries and Scleroderma are also suspected of contributing to SBO.

When SBO occurs, the symptoms would include the typical non-specific findings of bloating, gas, diarrhea, nausea, and general malaise. Sound familiar? The symptoms are pretty much the same as you would see in colonic dysbiosis and even in Irritable Bowel Syndrome or a Candida overgrowth. In addition, severe cases of SBO can lead indirectly to malnutrition by decreasing the intestine’s ability to digest fats and, ultimately, proteins and carbohydrates. With severe, chronic SBO we also see weight loss, B-12 deficiency induced anemia, bone softening, and impaired night vision as the body fails to absorb vitamins because of the diarrhea. In fact chronic diarrhea is considered to be the hallmark of SBO. A recent study in the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology show SBO to be the causative factor of chronic diarrhea in up to 67% of reported cases. In another study in the same journal 48% of cases were diagnosed with SBO. A separate study showed that up to 83% of patients diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome had SBO instead. SBO is definitely good bugs gone bad.

So how do you know if you have SBO? How is it diagnosed? More importantly, if you have it what do you do about it? If you have the symptoms described above and these symptoms have persisted for more than several weeks you should see a physician who is familiar with functional testing. As its name implies, functional testing refers to lab testing that helps determine the function and interplay of a total organ system rather than an isolated portion of that system. Functional tests ask the question “Why”! Traditional testing asks “What”! When you ask “what” is wrong, it only allows for symptom management. If you ask “why” it’s wrong, it allows for the complete management of the cause of the symptoms.

There are several types of functional tests important in SBO. One invasive procedure cultures a bacterial sample taken directly from the contents of the duodenum. Stool microbiology offered by some labs identifies an overgrowth of bacteria by direct observation of the bacteria cultured from a stool sample. There is also a breath test that identifies, indirectly, the metabolic waste of the bacteria. Lastly, your doctor can order an evaluation of your urine collected first thing in the morning. This test looks directly at the waste products given off by the bacteria. If SBO is present, several of these waste products will be elevated.

Once diagnosed, your physician can then determine the next steps to take. You certainly don’t want to take Lactobacillus containing probiotic supplements until the overgrowth is controlled. You’re simply feeding the fire if you do. In some severe cases, antibiotics may be necessary to control SBO. In less severe cases the natural compound approach may be best. This could include various bactericidal herbs like Oregano, Goldenseal, and Garlic. Adding digestive aids like proteolytics, pancreatic enzymes as well as Betaine HCl may be of benefit. Changing your diet to exclude Lacto-fermented and “aged” foods temporarily as well as reducing high glycemic carbohydrates would be advised. It would be important to resolve the underlying cause for the overgrowth if possible. If the condition that allowed the overgrowth to occur in the first place is not considered then the above dietary changes will only offer temporary relief. After the overgrowth is reduced to normal and the causative factors are controlled, it’s OK, and advisable, to return the fermented foods and probiotics back into your diet.

So while you may not have heard a lot about SBO, it does mask itself as several other conditions like Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Candida, contributes to the symptom picture in many other conditions, and its proper control can certainly make your life a lot easier.

The Myth of Menstruation

Concurring with my good friend and brother, Rev. Phil Valentine (metaphysician out of New York), the female menstrual cycle is normal, but NOT natural. As the human body has the innate capabilities to adapt to pathologies, irregularities, and abnormalities, the female body (ever since the Great fall nearly 6,000 years ago and which has absolutely nothing to do with a fictitious Biblical character named Eve) has adapted to the pathology of menstruation and now uses this process as a cleansing method to rid the female body of toxins and waste. The female body has taken that which is unnatural (to bleed and lose the vital life essence) and converted that process into a normal female body function. Because of the menstrual cycle, women now have an additional eliminative channel in the vagina, bringing their total to six major eliminative channels (colon, lungs, kidneys, liver, skin, and vagina). It is because of this sixth eliminative channel that rids the female body of unnecessary waste and toxins that women generally outlive men by seven years.

Why is menstruation considered a dis-ease? Because it is not natural in nature or the wild (free). It is rare to find a mammal that lives and eats according to the laws of Nature to have a menstrual cycle. Have you ever witnessed a female horse, gorilla, elephant, buffalo, monkey, hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, rhinoceros, or cow having a menstrual discharge? Don’t you think corporate and greedy man would have devised feminine pads and tampons for these animals to prevent the spilling and dropping of excessively large amounts of blood? Why of course corporate man would have, just like he did for Western and civilized woman so that she could continuously battle in the war zone called corporate America that was originally designed for white males. Man created pads and tampons for career females so that the menstrual cycle would not interfere with daily business activity. You see, with men, there is no so-called “natural” phenomenon that over takes the male body once a month causing a break in chores and activities. Originally, during the cycle time, women abstained from work and other daily functions. This break time due to menstruation was anywhere from 1-3 days at the most.

Menstruation is not abnormal in domesticated creatures in so-called civilization (which really means “slavery”). Just look at the house cat and dog. These creatures have a menstrual cycle, just like the social creature called woman.

For a human being, especially a mammal, to lose its vital life essence (blood) monthly, is not a natural occurrence. Blood exiting out of the body is not a natural thing. If a man goes to urinate and sees blood in his urine, he first screams in fear and then goes to the emergency room at the local hospital to see the doctor. Why? Because it’s a sign that something is wrong (if a man does urinate blood, chances are he has prostate cancer).

The life of the flesh is in the blood. Even the Bible tells us this (Leviticus 17:11). The blood contains vital elements (minerals) necessary to maintain optimal health. The blood transports the various minerals to certain parts of the body so that certain organs may work and function optimally for the sake of the being. For example, calcium calms the nerves. Potassium ensures optimal nerve transmission. Iodine regulates and ensures optimal thyroid gland functioning and activity. Iron ensures hemoglobin and is now the major carrier of oxygen (taking over this duty from the mineral “gold” which we no longer use in our modern and degenerative states of existence as third dimensional beings). Now if the blood which carries these minerals throughout the body is being eliminated out of the body for the sake of ridding the female body of toxins and waste (which the colon and kidneys could easily perform), then the organs that need and depend on these vital elements are not going to get them and the result is going to be dis-ease or lack of good or optimal health (e.g. PMS [premenstrual syndrome]).

Take PMS for example; PMS is associated with mood swings, irritability of nerves, gas (flatulence), abdominal cramps, headaches, body spasms, short term memory loss, etc. Why? Because of a lack of nutrients or organ-specific foods to these areas for proper functioning. With blood saturated in the vaginal area during the menses and exiting via the vagina, the brain is not going to get the minerals carbon, copper, calcium and potassium (at least the amount it requires). Calcium is a calmative (calming agent). It calms you down. Do you know why the animals who graze on grasses like oats, alfalfa, barley, wheat, and gotu kola are so calm? Because they contain high amounts of calcium. Animals know that God made the grass to grow for their benefit and good health. The Book of Psalms clearly tells us that, “He causeth the grass to grow for cattle,…” Do you know why elephants are said to have good memories? Because they graze on gotu kola, an herb that enhances mental acuity and stamina. Therefore, female elephants do not experience episodes of short term memory loss (nor do they develop Alzheimer’s Disease as the herb gotu kola contains bio-aluminum [organic aluminum] which attracts harmful, man-made aluminum which causes Alzhiemer’s in the first place, and rids it from the body via the blood).

With blood leaving the body during the menses, the nerves are not going to get its needed amount of potassium for proper nerve transmission. The thyroid gland (a major factor in weight gain and loss) is not going to get the necessary amount of iodine it needs to regulate body weight. And with a major loss of iron, a trace element, anemia is going to undoubtedly occur and cause a host of ill-effects such as dizziness, weakness, nausea, fatigue, frigidity (or feeling excessively cold), and brittle fingernails.

During the menstrual cycle, the female body is going to saturate the blood supply in the vaginal area to help with the menstrual cycle, and as a result, necessary minerals will not be transported in the amount needed by the other body organs and members. These minerals that are lodged in the vaginal area during the menstruation will come out in bulk in the “white” stage (leukorrheac discharge). Yes, that white discharge commonly referred to as “leucorrhea,” is full of nutrition (that nutrition which did not make the grade doing the menstrual cycle). The white discharge is considered healthy or normal due to its high mineral content and non-smelly or foul odor, whereas and in contrast to an irritating, pruritic, copious, foul-smelling green or yellow discharge, which indicates vaginal or uterine infection or other pathogenic conditions of gynecologic origin. (See Mosby’s Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health Dictionary, 3rd edition, “leucorrhea.”)

So PMS is due to mineral deficiency, and not a curse by God on females. Medical logic suggest that PMS can be cured or corrected by counteracting mineral deficiency by giving the body more minerals before, during, and after the menstrual cycle. The best source of these minerals is raw, organic foods (fruits and vegetables) and herbs. And remember, your body has nerves that connect to every organ in your body. The gas pockets in the colon explode and press against other nerves sites in the colon (which contain 360 nerve crystals) and cause a host of other problems, especially headaches.

It is reported that the African women kidnapped and brought to America during the American slavery period (1555-1863) did not have a menstrual cycle, but a period. Yes, they only had a little drop of blood the size of a small dot, which is why it was called a “period,” that mark we make and utilize in the English language, but which is now associated with the menstrual “cycle.” The term “cycle” is now a synonym for the word “period.”

We find support of the disease nature of the menstrual cycle in the Bible in the story of Jesus healing the woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years. This account is detailed in the Book of Mark. Many Christian reverends, who do not apply or understand metaphysics, construe this issue of blood as a cut on the woman’s body that Jesus healed, but if these ignorant Christian reverends understood medical logic, science, and fact, they would know that no human being can bleed for more than a period of 12 hours without dying! If a person bleeds for 12 hours straight, we all know what happens, except for our blind Christian pastors, especially the Negro ones. We read in Mark, Chapter 5, Verses 25-34, the following: “And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse. When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up: and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, ‘Who touched my clothes?” And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitudes thronging thee, and sayest thou, who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what she done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, ‘Daughter, they faith had made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”

Now why do you think this woman’s issue of blood that lasted for twelve years was called a “plague?” Well, what is a “plague?” The word “plague” is defined as: 1. A widespread affliction or calamity. 2. A cause of annoyance; nuisance. 3. A highly infectious, usu. fatal epidemic disease, esp. bubonic plague. (The American Heritage Dictionary, 3rd edition, Office Edition, pg. 633).

Do not most American females feel afflicted, annoyed, or nuisanced during their menstrual cycle? The answer is yes! Why do you think they take pharmaceutical drugs like Midol® during their cycle? For fun? Hell no! They are in pain or feel afflicted. Many or most of them (females) are not the same during this time, and they will tell you so, like they have told me so. They become very grouchy and irritated. Many will tell you that they are a “bitch” during this time and to leave them alone and/or don’t say a word to them, lest they slap you or punch you in the face. Why do they become like this? It is because of the calamity or the plague, as the Bible calls it.

In analyzing the Mark 5:25-34 story or parable of the woman with an issue of blood for twelve years, we must apply spiritual or metaphysical hermaneutics and exigesis. Number one, the issue of blood lasting twelve years could be no other than the menstrual cycle. It could not be a form of blood cancer (leukemia) as cancer kills usually within six months to three years. It could not have been a bleeding sore on the body because nobody can bleed daily and nonstop for twelve years. The touching of Jesus’ garments is a metaphor or spiritual symbolical meaning or action referring to Jesus’ lifestyle. A garment is what protects or covers you. Likewise, a righteous and wholistic lifestyle covers and protects you (from sickness, disease, slavery, and premature death). The woman touching Jesus’ garment meant that the woman touched (practiced) Jesus’ way of living. The “fountain of her blood” referred to her vagina. And clearly, her “faith” (in being cured by a righteous and Essenic lifestyle) made her whole (at ease and not dis-eased). It is important to note that the parable begins by saying that she suffered (took) many things of physicians (drugs) and had spent all that she had. If her issue was in fact a wound on the skin as most Negro Christian reverends suggests, a physician would have had knowledge to bandage up the wound in order to put pressure on the wound so as to stop the profuse bleeding.

Moving on in our subject matter, if menstruation is necessary and natural, and serves to expel or eliminate toxins from the female body on a monthly basis, why then does the menstrual cycle stop or go away during pregnancy? Does a toxic woman automatically become clean or nontoxic because of pregnancy? Of course not! So why does the menses halt? The answer lies in the fact of the body’s intelligence knowing that a new life is forming in the flesh and that the body will need extra nutrition for the building blocks of the new life. The body knows it loses these building blocks (minerals) during menstruation, so the body’s intelligence prevents the body from menstruating once conception takes place. So what about the process of eliminating toxins? How does the female body throw off toxins during pregnancy? The female body will utilize the first trimester (or first three months) to eliminate toxins from the mother host body via “morning sickness.” I don’t have a clue as to why this activity is called “morning sickness” because women will suffer through this sickness throughout the day – morning, noon, and night; – something to make you think about! Women will throw up (vomit, regurgitate) to help get the body clean for the baby to develop in. Some females are so toxic, that the body will dump most of the toxins from the uterine area in to the liver, which causes or manifests “eclampsia,” which is liver toxicity during pregnancy. Taking synthetic and harmful pharmaceutical drugs euphemistically called “prenatal tabs” (made with horse manure, bitumen, and coal tar) and inorganic sources of “iron” (which is derived from rusted metals such as railroad tracks) will greatly play a role in eclampsia. This synthetic and deadly “iron” [ferrous fumate and sulfate] is the cause of constipation and bloated feeling in pregnant women. Pharmaceutical companies mix this inorganic iron (humans require “organic” or “living” iron from plant sources) with inorganic sulphur. The injurious effects of inorganic mineral sulphur however, is caused by its affinity for iron and also its destruction of ferments and enzymes, and by its generation of sulphurous and sulphuric acids within the organism. It steals the iron from food and blood, forming sulphide of iron which constipates and dries up the several secretions of the digestive tract. It also steals nascent hydrogen from the fluids and tissues forming sulphuranhydride or sulphureted hydrogen. Women, this is the cause of the foul smelling gas you expel and have been revolted at, which is always given off by decaying organic matter, animal and vegetable. It is the smell of rotten eggs, putrid sores, fecal matter, and decaying flesh.

Should menstruating women engage in sexual intercourse? For health and hygiene reasons, I say no, especially if a woman is lying on her back. My reasoning is this – like the rectum, the female vagina has a “downward” spiral energy. Most eliminative channels have a downward, spiral energy (e.g. colon, kidneys). While in the sex act, the male penis strokes in and out while inside the vagina. As menstruation is a cleansing time, expelling toxins and waste from the female body, waste and toxins traveling down the vagina to the exit or opening of the vagina will eventually be pushed back up into the uterine area by the stroking male penis, and especially if a man is stroking or penetrating hard, fast, and deep with his sex organ. This is something to think about. Plain and simple, it is unhygienic and unhealthy and poses a serious health risk.

In closing, what can a female do to offset the side effects of the “plague” (menses)? The answer is found in the Bible in Psalms 104:14. It clearly states, “He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth.” Plain and simple!

To replenish the body of the necessary nutrients (minerals), consume herbs such as alfalfa, sheep sorrel, suma, rooisbos, rose hips, watercress, parsley leaf, moringa or karela seed, barley grass, wheat grass, nettle leaf, and spinach leaf. These herbs provide almost every mineral the body needs.

Also, consume sea weeds such as kelp, dulse, spirulina, chlorella, Irish Moss, bladderwrack, Blue-Green Algae, Iceland Moss, and red marine algae. Sea weeds are the best and most nutritious foods you can eat, and provide your body with everything you need (oxygen, minerals, protein, etc.) and are an excellent source of organic “iodine” (thyroid gland food).

Natural sources rich in “iron” include: yellow dock root, burdock root, dandelion root, elderberries, red raspberry leaf, rooibos, and mullein leaf. Green vegetables such as parsley, greens, chives, and spinach are also great sources of iron. Blackstrap molasses (unsulphured) also provides a good amount of iron.

Natural sources of “calcium” include: comfrey root (don’t believe the hype about liver toxicity), oatstraw, horsetail, and red raspberry leaf. All green leafy vegetables are good sources of calcium (if you juice or lightly steam them).

Herbs to coagulate the blood and stop excessive bleeding include: goldenseal, cranesbill (alum root), dragon’s blood, manjistha, musta, shepherd’s purse, lady’s mantle, yarrow, cayenne, Solomon’s seal, barberry, and heal-all herb.

Herbs to regulate and normalize the menstrual cycle and flow include: maca, black cohosh, blue cohosh, dong quai, mugwort, red raspberry leaf, wild yam root (best and highest source of natural progesterone), squawvine, false unicorn, chaste tree berries, lycii fruit, red clover tops (best and highest source of natural estrogen), licorice root, sarsaparilla, and angelica.

Herbs that counteract menstrual cramping and spasms include: beth or birth root, crampbark, fennel seed, anise seed, and wild yam root.

Herbs that counteract menstrual related pain and headaches include: white willow bark, black willow bark, feverfew, meadowsweet, birch bark, wood betony, wild lettuce, peppermint, wintergreen, and woodruff.

Herbs that help soothe the nerves during the menstrual cycle include: nerve root or lady’s slipper, kava kava, jatamansi, valerian root, lavender flower, passionflower, hops, skullcap, chamomile, and linden flower.

Herbs that give energy for fatigue during the menstrual cycle include: ginseng (all species), ashwagandha, schizandra berries, jiwanti, yerba mate, green tea, suma, codonopsis bark, kola or bissey nut, and guarana seed.

Herbs for mental stimulation during the menstrual cycle include: gotu kola, gingko biloba, bringraj, ashwagandha, ginseng, holy or blessed thistle, kola or bissey nut, yerba mate, and guarana seed.

Herbs that counteract constipation during the menstrual cycle include: senna leaves and pods, cascara sagrada, buckthorn, aloe vera resin, rhubarb root, jalap root, bibitaki, mandrake, black walnut hulls, poke root, slippery elm bark, Irish moss, guar gum, acacia gum, and psyllium Husks.

Herbs that strengthen the uterus during the menstrual cycle include: ashoka, squawvine, false unicorn, pumpkin seed, cocculus root, and saw palmetto.

Natural remedies to counteract breast soreness and tenderness during the menstrual cycle include: (oils) [internally and externally] evening primrose oil, borage oil, black currant oil; (externally – massaged into breasts) olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, grapefruit seed oil, rose hip seed oil; (essential oils that can be added to breast massage oil) fennel seed oil, clary sage, grapefruit peel oil, and rosemary; (herbs) saw palmetto berries, honeysuckle flower, red raspberry leaf, red clover tops, yew tips, poke root, wild indigo, and red root.

Herbs that counteract eclampsia during pregnancy include: white peony bark, deer tongue herb, milk thistle seeds, dandelion root, burdock root, carbon (activated charcoal), uva ursi, grapevine leaf, and Oregon grape.

What Is Tinnitus?

According to Science Daily: “Tinnitus is a phenomenon of the nervous system connected to the ear, characterized by perception of a ringing or beating sound (often perceived as sinusoidal) with no external source.” Tinnitus isn’t classified as a disease but is classified as the result of an underlying cause.

It can be felt in one or both ears and in the head and the resulting sound has been described by patients in many different ways. Most say it’s a ringing noise, while others say it takes the form of a whistling sound or a whining noise. Then there are other people who describe it as a buzzing, hissing or humming sound.

Some say it reminds them of roaring, and even crickets or tree frogs. In some cases tinnitus occurs intermittently while for others it can be continuous which can be very disturbing and in some situations has led to reported cases of suicide. Some people can vary the severity of the discomfort by moving their shoulders, head, tongue, jaw, or even by moving their eyes.

Hearing loss is a by product of tinnitus and most people with the affliction suffer various degrees of hearing impairment. The strength of sound heard may range, on the mild side, from a quiet background noise to the other end of the spectrum as something that can be heard over loud external noise.

One of the causes of this effect is unnatural levels of noise exposure which is very prevalent in industrialized countries. These sounds can take on various forms such as prolonged contact with loud music such as what members of a rock band might endure or daily exposure to other work place rackets such as industrial machinery.

Tinnitus itself can lead to other effects such as extreme irritability, fatigue, and in extreme cases may cause clinical depression and or musical hallucinations. Some people in the past have mistaken sounds they are subject to on a regular basis as tinnitus. For example, a high pitched sound such as radio frequency hearing which imitates the problem has sometimes led to an incorrect diagnosis.

Tinnitus and the resulting hearing loss may be permanent conditions and if a noise in the ears is present following lengthy exposure to a source of loud sound it may mean lasting or permanent damage has already occurred.

According to audiologist’s prolonged exposure to sound levels as low as 70 decibels can result in damage to hearing. For many people who suffer through noise exposure on a daily basis such as musicians and disk jockeys, musicians’ ear plugs are used as a preventative measure. They are specially designed to lower the volume of the music without distorting the sound so they don’t interfere with the musician’s performance.

You should also pay close attention to which medications you’re taking especially when you’re taking several different kinds. Prolonged use of multiple meds, depending on the type of pills and the dosage, may have a cumulative effect by increasing the damage inflicted by noise.

There are many considerations to take into account when discussing tinnitus and its characteristics and causes and they all should be scrutinized on an individual basis before any sound conclusion can be drawn.

Decoding Heart Attack Symptoms and Signs

There has been an increasing awareness in the niche of identifying and seeking first-aid treatment for Heart Attack Symptoms. This is largely because cardiovascular problems, including heart attacks or myocardial infarctions, have become a public healthcare problem across the world.

What Everybody Should Know About Heart Attack Symptoms

Contrary to popular belief, most of the cardiovascular attacks don’t happen overnight or suddenly, i.e. this condition is actually a result of many internal health problems that have been piling-up for many months, years or even decades. The underlying cause of all myocardial infarctions is the decreased vascular supply, i.e. dip in volume of oxygenated blood routed towards the heart’s muscles. The human heart is essentially a pump-like muscular organ that constantly needs oxygenated blood to function properly. When there is a severe or total obstruction in the arteries, the risk of cardiovascular problem rise exponentially. However, such problems are not going to happen every time there is some drop in the vascular supply to the cardiac chamber as it can cope up to some extent but when a vascular clot develops in the arteries or when there is excessive thickening within the arterial walls and there is negligible or nil supply of blood to a certain section(s) of the cardiac muscles, serious cardiovascular problems can occur.

During this phase, the muscles are suffocated or suffer necrosis, i.e. tissue death due to deprivation of nutrition. The fall in oxygenated vascular supply to the cardiac section is also referred to as Ischemia and thus, Ischemia is commonly referred to as the reason behind most myocardial infarctions. Ischemia can be established in many ways. As mentioned, the thickening of arterial walls due to deposits or plaques of cholesterol are a primary reason for this. Such arterial walls are called atherosclerotic, which refers to the fact that they have developed a narrower-than-normal pathway due to cholesterol deposits. Atherosclerosis takes some time to become a damaging problem. Other reasons include a blood clot due to vascular problems.

Understanding Heart Attack Symptoms

Severe chest pain is among the most common of all heart-attack signs. This is a global fact, though it has been established that the typical, acute chest pain is more likely to be found among elderly and middle-aged men rather than women. This feeling can be debilitating and radiating in nature. The pain is so extreme that the sufferer might feel as if he is suffering from a paralytic stroke. Often, there is loss of sensation or short-term paralysis of many body parts. The most common example of this is the intense contraction of facial muscles, often leading to severe twisting of facial muscles.

Radiating pain refers to the discomfort in and around the chest spreading to nearby sites such as the upper neck, lower back, inner and upper arms apart from the upper part of the abdomen. Not all symptoms indicate chances of fatality but even then they can prove to be detrimental to the sufferer. Many of these symptoms are capable of leading to serious complications like chronic ventricular fibrillation in the near future that drastically raises chances of fatality. Most signs of myocardial infarctions are diagnosed through an ECG Test that measures the heart’s overall conditioning using an Electrocardiogram.

Signs Of Heart Disease

Not every indication of heart trouble is preceded by flashing lights and ringing bells, and the signs of heart disease can be somewhat subtle in their appearance. However, person who are at risk for heart trouble should be knowledgeable of them as being conscious of the signs of heart disease can be a lifesaving experience. Unfortunately some of the signs are often confused with other ailments and even when presented are often ignored, which can be a fatal error.

The most common of the signs of heart disease is angina, or chest pain. It can be in the form of pain or a tightness in the chest are that may or may not radiate into the arms, neck, ears and back and many times it is confused with acid indigestion. Those experiencing a burning pain in their chest may believe it to be caused by something they ate and not one of the signs of heart disease and fail to seek emergency medical care.

Other signs of heart disease can include a shortness of breath, a rapid heartbeat a feeling of weakness along with nausea and sweating, even if the person feels cold. Most emergency medical workers would rather inform someone they have indigestion than have the signs ignored and wind up with a fatality.

Make Others Aware Of Symptom.

When a person believes they are showing the signs of heart disease, it could be a prelude to a heart attack. Someone should be apprised of the feelings and immediate medical care should be sought. Those having a heart attack may experience a discomfort or pain the chest with the pain radiating to the throat, neck and usually to the left arm. They may also experiencing a burning that resembles acid indigestion along with a feeling of being full.

Irregular heartbeat is another of the signs of heart disease, and may also indicate a heart attack, along with anxiety and difficulty breathing. When a person experiences any of the signs of heart disease or a heart attack, time is of the essence in seeking professional help. A delay in getting to the emergency room can cause major medical complications and even death.

While many people are able to survive a heart attack due to the quick response of qualified medical personnel, knowing the signs of heart disease can often stop a heart attack before it hits. If someone has these indications, they should inform their doctor so tests can be conducted to confirm or deny the signs of heart disease are real or imagined.

Common Vitamins and over the counter products can help with Arteriosclerosis such as Vitamin E, Isotretinoin and Sytrinol.

Vitamin E improves circulation and promotes normal blood clotting. Vitamin E is also known to help the red blood cells to live longer and keep them from breaking down too soon.

Isotretinoin, a Vitamin A derivative, is an oral drug that is usually taken once or twice a day with food for 4 to 6 months. Isotretinoin has been shown to be very effective in treating severe acne and can either improve or clear over 80% of patients studied. Isotretinoin has a much longer effect than anti-bacterial treatments and will often cure acne for good. It reduces the size of oil glands and much less oil is produced and as a result the growth of propion bacteria is reduced.

Sytrinol are known to be useful in helping maintain a healthy cholesterol level in the body by reducing triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels.

Brain Tumor – There is A Cure

To a layman, brain  tumor  is basically cancer of the brain. Medulloblastoma, ependymoma, glioma, teratoma, atypical teratoid rhadoid  tumor , etc, are names associated with different types of brain  tumor .

In simple terms, brain  tumor  is no more than uncontrolled growth of cells forming a lump in the brain. Just like any other form of cancers, brain  tumor  can spread and proliferate to any other parts of the body. Even before the brain  tumor  proliferates, or metastasize as a medical doctor or an oncologist would say it, the  tumor  could wreak havoc in the brain. Our brain, as we know it, controls the rest of the body. Any disturbance up there will affect our normal functioning of the various faculties. Therefore, symptoms of brain  tumor  really depends on where and how big the  tumor  is.

This article brings to light a relatively new form of treatment that could bring hope to those afflicted with brain  tumor .

The ideal objective of any treatment for brain  tumor  is total removal of the  tumor , without any recurrence and proliferation. The most common treatment is surgical removal of the  tumor . Surgery posts the high risks of damaging even a tiny bit of the surrounding structure, tissues or nerves.  Apart from conventional surgery, the newer types of surgery include what is known as stereotactic radiosurgery and gamma knife radiosurgery.  These two forms of surgery are specific, but are still considered ionizing and invasive, respectively. This article shares with the reader a non-surgical, non-ionizing, and non-invasive form of treatment for cancer.

This technology is commercially known as CYTOTRON, or scientifically known as RFQMR or Rotational Field Quantum Magnetic Resonance. Cytotron came into the world in 2006 after more than a decade of research and fine-tuning. It is invented by Dr. Rajah Vijay Kumar from Bangalore, India. Dr Kumar is a tissue reengineering scientist. He works with medical doctors and specialist in inventing the Cytotron. This technology was first successfully applied to the treatment of osteoarthritis. For details on this aspect, please refer to my upcoming article ‘Osteoarthritis – There Is cure!’.

The layman explanation of Cytotron in cancer treatment is simplified here. The Cytotron uses radio and near radio frequency to beam specifically on the  tumor  or cancerous area. What Cytotron tries to accomplish is to induce the self-death of the cancer cells. This is known as apoptosis in medical term. In cancer cells, the process of natural death is missing due to some missing process in the cell cycle. With Cytotron, that process of natural death is restored without affecting the neighboring normal cells. With the many cases that had been treated, the MRI results showed objective evidence of the arrest of cancer growth and also the disappearance of the cancer cells.

One of the most amazing successful cases of Cytotron treatment on cancer was a 7 year-old girl from Ipoh of Perak state, Malaysia. This girl, Ying, was detected with brain  tumor  when her parents noticed she was not able to behave normally and knocked into things around the house. Her brain  tumor  led to her loss of vision and, if untreated, she was on the brink of death. About one year after the  tumor  was detected, it had grown from 3 to 4 centimeters, and then, increased by another centimeter in just another 4 months. Then, she was put on a 28 consecutive, 1 hour per day treatment with the Cytotron. During the Cytotron treatment, her condition had already begun to show improvement. 3 months after the treatment, her MRI clearly showed that the brain  tumor  growth had been successfully arrested. Half a year later, the  tumor  totally collapsed. Today, at the age of 9 years old, she has gone back to school like other kids.

To those who are living with the agony of cancer, CYTOTRON, or RFQMR, may bring new light to their lives.

Pneumonia Symptoms And Treatment

If bacteria cause the pneumonia it can usually be treated with antibiotics. Viruses don’t respond to antibiotics; if your pneumonia is the result of a virus antibiotics enable you to help prevent any secondary infections.

Doctors treat pneumonia in line with the type of pneumonia an individual has as well as other individual factors, such as age and general health. Bacterial pneumonia is generally treated with antibiotics. Fungal pneumonia is addressed with antifungal agents. Viral pneumonia may be treated with antiviral medications but is much more often treated simply with recommendations of rest and plenty of fluids. Additionally, for all types of pneumonia, doctors often suggest taking over-the-counter medications to reduce fever and pain.

In the event the pneumonia is severe, or even the person affected is either early or frail they may need to be treated in hospital where antibiotics and further fluids and may be given straight into the vein (intravenously). If breathing is tough, extra oxygen may be given through a facemask. About one inch every six people with pneumonia are ill enough to need this kind of specialised care.

There’s a range of bacteria which could cause disease leading to ‘typical pneumonia’ including Streptococcus pneumoniae which causes pneumococcal pneumonia. This is the most typical cause of pneumonia. Viruses can also be a source of infection including influenza – or flu. Disease with a bacterium and a virus can happen at the same time. A Streptococcus pneumoniae infection is normally ‘secondary’ to a person having flu for example. This is known as a ‘secondary infection’ and can slow down recovery significantly.

Typical symptoms are cough, fever, sweats, shivers, being off food, and feeling generally unwell. Headaches, and injuries are common. You always make more sputum which can become yellow/green, and is also sometimes bloodstained. You could become breathless, breathe fast, and produce a ‘tight chest’. A sharp pain within the side from the chest may develop when the infection involves the pleura. (This is the membrane between your lung and the chest wall.) A doctor may hear ‘crackles’ within the chest when listening using a stethoscope.

Pneumonia is actually a general term for many conditions by which an infection or chemical inflames the air sacs of the lungs. They fill with liquid or pus, which disrupts the lungs’ ability to transfer oxygen for the blood. Prior to the invention of antibiotics within the 1930s, pneumonia was a leading reason for death. Today it is extremely treatable, but remains a public medical condition. At least 100 different kinds of pneumonia exist, which range from mild to severe naturally.

During the early acute stage of pneumonia, a tea produced from fenugreek seeds will help the body to make perspiration, dispel toxicity, and shorten the period of fever. Up to four cups of the tea may be taken daily. The amount can be reduced because the condition improves. To enhance the flavour from the tea, a few drops of fresh lemon juice may be added. With this treatment, not one other food or nourishment needs to be taken, as fasting and fenugreek enables the body to fix these respiratory problems in the future.

If you experience the above mentioned pneumonia symptoms, you should immediately contact your doctor for further consultation. Despite the fact that walking pneumonia will not make you bedridden, it still can be very annoying and severe.

Asbestos Killed My Husband

He was only a child when it begun -and he played

as children do- in his yard

with his toy cars and tip trucks

But his sand was asbestos blue…

In December 1999, my husband and I were walking home from a game of lawn bowls when I became aware of his shortness of breath. I was surprised and concerned when he told me that he had experienced this on several occasions. Believing this to be due to chest a infection, I made a doctor’s appointment for him the next day.

Chest X-rays revealed fluid on the lungs, over two litres of which was drained, giving Brian immediate relief, but it was a tense wait for the pathology results.Through the Internet I had become aware of several conditions which may have been responsible for fluid on the lung; these included asbestos- related diseases. Brian had lived in Wittenoom as a child and I was afraid of his diagnosis. Not wanting to worry him unnecessarily, I did not mention my fears to him. I prayed that he had pleurisy or pneumonia but the pathology results revealed that there were cancer cells present.

When Brian finally received his diagnosis, my worst nightmare became reality. He had pleural mesothelioma, a terminal cancer of the lung caused by the inhalation of asbestos dust. We found it inconceivable that the disease was the result of Brian inhaling asbestos dust as a child and that it had lain dormant for forty-five years before become lethal.

We were still reeling from the shock when, without preamble, the young doctor gave his prognosis. His exact words were, “Three to nine months, I reckon”. That he could say this so unfeelingly amazed me. His total lack of compassion did not encourage even the small comfort of tears. I felt as if Brian and I had been shot and from that moment on we were waiting to drop.

Undoubtedly, were mortally wounded. We suffered shock, disbelief, anger, helplessness and utter despair; in fact all the symptoms of grief one feels when a loved one has actually died. Once again we found ourselves with no control over our lives. This time however, there was no light at the end of the tunnel. Our journey through terminal illness had begun.

Throughout the course of our married life my deep love for Brian and my determination to resolve difficulties had seen us through many trials. I found it hard to believe that nothing could be done to save his life and begun surfing the Internet for information regarding mesothelioma, all the time praying for a miracle, hoping against hope to find a doctor who had successfully operated on or cured someone of it.

It was a sad realization to discover that for Brian there were no miracles; however, I learned a lot and it helped me to accept that he was dying. With my acceptance came a fierce determination to ease his burden. I continued to seek information regarding mesothelioma and the pain and symptoms Brian would experience, due to the progression of his disease. In this way, I came to understand the importance of pain management and symptom control and realized that although I could not stop Brian from dying – I could help him to live.

My acquired knowledge regarding pain and symptom management enabled me to communicate with Brian and to understand the type of pain he was experiencing and the intensity of that pain. I was then able to work hand in hand with his doctors, to bring his pain and symptoms under control. As my efforts resulted in his improved quality of life, I lost my sense of helplessness and gained strength.

Together, we achieved for Brian, a quality of life few thought possible, considering the nature of his disease. Testament to this, Brian survived for 2 years despite his prognosis of 3 to 9 months. Remained active and alert, drove his car for eighteen months after diagnosis and was not bed bound until three short days prior to his death.

Brian’s courageous battle with mesothelioma came to an end on the 24th December 2001, he passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 54 years old.

Home Remedies for Cough and Cold in Children and Infants

One of the hardest parts being a parent is to look after their sick kids. This is especially if their kids have cough and cold. If this happens, a mother or both parents could potentially have only a couple of hours sleep at night which is a great disadvantage for them especially if they are both going to work everyday. Well, this is part of being a parent hence you can absolutely avoid and practice an effective home remedy for this. After all, you are not only the one who suffers, mainly; it is your child that suffers. So, as a parent, it is also one of your duties to take care and look after them as well as to find ways so they can get rid of their cough and cold.

One of the home remedies for cough and cold that you can consider is water therapy. You need to convince your children to drink more water. Put a cold compress on his or her forehead and wipe him or her with a face towel in the whole body. Check the temperature of your child every hour and every time you let them take medicines. But, if the symptoms persist then you will have to see a doctor.

Another thing is that you will have to make your children drink more juice especially lemon juice. If they have cough and colds for more than a week then you will have to see a doctor and ask for medical prescription. It is because of the fact that your child might to take antibiotics and other medicines that could be helpful to their condition. You can also massage the chest and back of your child using mentholated creams. In some ways, this could help them to make breathing easier as well as this could also help them to fall asleep despite of such condition.

If you are a parent and it is your first time to experience looking after your kid while he is suffering from cough and colds then all you have to do is to be relaxed in a way that your mind could be always present despite of the situations that you know might possibly happen. It is perfectly understandable for you to be worried; the fact is that it is essential for you to be active and present minded. Don’t let your worries and fears overpower you because if this happens, you will never do any home remedies for cough and colds rightfully as well as you will never come up with the right things to do.

Cold Sores Photos

Pictures say a thousand words. It takes a keen eye to realize this. Fever Blisters are caused by Herpes simplex virus- 1 (HSV-1). It is a disease that affects anyone in any part of the world. Once in the body, the virus attacks the nerve cells, travels towards the ganglia and stays dormant. The virus is later reactivated in the body especially during stress. These blisters are seen around the nose and the mouth. They are usually itchy and give a tingling sensation.

The blisters then become red. This is followed by the oozing of fluid. All these result into a large irritating blister. Words can’t fully describe the blister. Cold sores photos will show you all you need to see. The pictures are available in many library books and articles. Visiting the library doesn’t have to be boring after all! Knowledge is power. If the blisters keep recurring, find out more information for better control.

Medical journals are another source of cold sores photos. They are usually found in medical dispensaries and clinics. The are easy to use and give up to date knowledge about diseases. They are written with the aim of informing medical students and doctors. This is the reason why they are continually reviewed. They can be quiet informative in giving information. If you do not understand some details, consult a medical professional.

It is difficult to deny the importance of Internet in this day and age. There are various web sites that contain cold sores photos. They also have additional information concerning the disease. However, be very careful. Ensure that the information is from a valid source.
