Ayurveda Treatment For Diabetes

Diabetes is a wide spread chronic disease of which 80-90% are Type 2 Diabetes mellitus. Beta Cells of the Pancreas Glands is responsible for Insulin which is essential for proper utilisation of carbohydrates. If insulin is absent, the carbohydrates is not utilised and these appear in the blood in the form of Glucose. Main problem with Diabetes is that it is very difficult to diagnose in the early stages. The main symptoms are: excessive urine formation & frequent urination, burning of palms and soles, increased hunger, excessive thirst, sweet taste to mouth, weight loss, blurry vision, wounds that take time to heal, skin Infections, unexplained extreme fatigue etc. Poorly managed diabetes can lead to Heart attacks, Strokes, Blindness, Nerve damage, Impotence etc.

Treatments Methods for Diabetes

After the diagnosis, the doctor sets out to treat the patient in a very systematic manner. This would include a set of appropriate Panchakarma treatments and Rasayana therapies .

The Panchakarma Treatments are meant to flush out the toxins, They are classified as pre-purification, main purification and post purification phases and include various types of therapies like oil massages, fermented liquid massages, medicinal enemas, herbal purification methods.

The Rasayana Therapies are meant to nourish the body, to bring the doshas back to balance and to regenerate the body. These comprise diet regulations, daily regimens, intake of oral medicines and ayurveda tonics, yoga and a stress free life. After the treatment the ayurveda doctors will advise you how to lead a healthy life. The benefits and results of the treatment are shown only after the Rasyana Treatment is over and doctors advise is strictly followed. The results will manifest itself normally after 3 to 4 weeks as the body takes time to regenerate itself.

Panchakarma for Diabetes

Pre-purification therapies are the first ones applied to loosen the toxins, open up the circulation channels and get the body ready for discarding these wastes. These methods are highly relaxing for the body and mind. The commonly adopted pre-purification therapies for Diabetes are Snehapanam, thalapothichil and thakradhara.

Snehapanam: Medicated ghee, eaten in empty stomach, for its first hand therapeutic value, is called Snehapanam. The treatment involves the removal of hard-core toxins and wastes from the body. Snehapanam is one of the excellent preparatory methods before the main Panchakarma. The ghee lubricates all the channels of the body, including the lymph, and forces out the toxins from them, into the digestive tract. It also calms down the mind and reduces mental stress. As a result, the body immunity increases, the effects of the ailments subside and frequent recurrence of the disease is prevented. It also increases the person’s appetite level and accelerates peristaltic movements of the intestine.

The medicated ghee is prepared by processing herbal paste, herbal juice, milk, ghee etc. The herbal paste and juice are selected, based on the disease being treated, from herbs like amaltas,Sarsaparilla,Jaman,Indian Kino Tree, guggul, ginger, neem, onion, chopchini, tribhala, malabar nut, sweet flag, mustard etc. The herb chopchini has powerful anti inflammatory and antibiotic properties and gives the effect of a steroid. Snehapanam, done once a day in empty stomach, is usually continued for 3 to 7 days. The exact duration and type of ghee to be used are decided by the doctors who treat you .

Thalapothichil, In Thalapothichil, the person’s scalp is completely applied with high value medicinal pastes. This enables the medicines to penetrate faster into the brain cells. The healing properties of the herbs also calm down the nervous system and rejuvenate the person. To start the treatment, the person sits on a chair, well relaxed. Selected medicinal herbs, thoroughly ground and made into fine paste, is then thickly applied on to his scalp. The head is then covered up with leaves, usually banana leaves, to form a perfect mask. This is done to allow the medicines to stay on and function well. The mask remains on the person’s head for almost 40 to 50 minutes giving wonderful relaxation to the mind. The effect of the medicines calms down the nerves, relieves mental tension, increases the person’s memory power and improves his sleep pattern. Herbs and fruits such as gooseberry, henna, asparagus, moringa ,guggul, lotus, seeds, sandalwood, nut grass tuber etc. are used in the treatment. They are first moisturized in buttermilk before being grinded to a paste form. The paste thus obtained becomes a rich blend of various cooling agents.

Thakradhara Thakradhara means the profuse pouring of medicine-rich buttermilk on a person’s forehead. The treatment induces coolness to the brain, relaxes the mind, reduces mental stress and increases memory power. Thakradhara is a good treatment for diabetes. Thakradhara starts with a mild, full body oil massage to loosen the nerves and muscles. After this, medicated buttermilk is poured on the person’s forehead relentlessly for almost an hour. Such continuous out pour of buttermilk, directly on the head, gives wonderful relaxation to the mind and soul. A prolonged treatment for 2-3 weeks not only removes diabetes but also recoups the total mental status of the person. Excellent cooling and therapeutic agents are used in this treatment. The buttermilk is made by boiling milk with assorted herbs. It is then cooled, fermented and cream-removed. The left over buttermilk is the medium used for Thakradhara. The assorted herbs used are gooseberry, sida plant, neem, bark of ficus, nut grass tuber, sandal wood, lotus, etc. Gooseberry and lotus are excellent cooling agents.

Main purification Therapies for Diabetes

This is the phase of elimination of toxins that were loosened at the pre-purification treatment stage. These therapies are highly potential methods and are usually overseen by doctors. The three commonly adopted Panchakarma treatments for Diabetes are Vamanam, Virechanam and Vasti .

Vamanam Induced vomiting, using herbal medicine is called Vamanam. This treatment is effective for diabetes. It is one among the renowned Panchakarma treatments. Through vamanam, the toxins and acids of the upper parts of the body are completely eradicated. As the channels are freed from harmful toxins, the body tissues get recharged. The person’s memory power also increases, the sense organs get better clarity and his digestive fire increases. In total, the person gets a powerful revitalized feeling. Vamanam, in addition to treating many diseases, also rejuvenates the person’s body and mind. These methods loosen the impurities of the body channels and prepare the body for the main treatment. The person is made to drink sweetened milk stomach full, followed by a single dose of medicinal decoction. In 2 or 3 minutes he vomits, throwing out all the excessive acids, and toxic substances of the body. The medicinal decoction used is made of black Pepper, beetle killer root,Tamarind and Liquorice. Salt and honey are also added to it when consumed.

Virechanam is the intake of oral medicines leading to the elimination of toxins through the anal route. It eliminates excess bile toxins from the mid zone of the body. Virechanam constitutes one of the treatments of Panchakarma. When the digestive tract is clean and toxic-free, it benefits the entire body system. As a result, the person’s appetite increases, body strength enhances and the person becomes active and buoyant. Thus virechanam also functions as an excellent rejuvenative procedure. Herbal powder, medicated castor oil, or herbal paste is commonly used as the purgative medicine. Avipathychoornam is the herbal powder generally used for the treatment. It is a mixture of herbs like turpith, embellia fruits, dry ginger, lotus, cardamom, long pepper, konch, sweet flag, cinnamon, etc. The treatment usually begins early in the morning. The person consumes the appropriate herbal medicine in empty stomach. The medicine does a good cleansing of the entire digestive system. And within 1 to 2 hours he empties his bowels, expelling along with it, all the accumulated toxins. The dose of medicines, diet patterns etc. are to be strictly followed as per the doctor’s recommendation. Virechanam, using strong medicines, is mostly done only once in a month under the supervision of doctors.

Vasthi is an enema therapy and is considered the ace colon cleaning panchakarma treatment. In this form of treatment special medicines are introduced through the anal route for the evacuation of accumulated toxins and metabolic wastes. It washes out all the toxins in the metabolic system through the digestive tract. It is highly recommended in the treatment of diabetes. As an effective rejuvenating health therapy, vasthi imparts high immunity and longevity, reduces degeneration of tissues, and prevents aging. Dill seeds, bael, honey, rock salt, herbal pastes, oils and decoctions are the main ingredients used in vasthi.

Rasayana Therapies for Diabetes

These are body nourishing therapies to rejuvenate the body and mind after the Panchakarma treatments. They keep the enzymes in the tissue cells in their normal functioning condition, restore and balance the body functions and maintain the overall health and well being of an individual for much longer periods after the Panchakarma course. Rasayana includes oral medicines and diet regulation.

Oral medicines for Diabetes

Oral medicines used for treating diabetes will be extracts of pure medicinal herbs, leaves, spices etc. These are prepared specifically to restore the lost balance and to provide the needed inputs to cure Diabetes.Kashayam and Arishtam – herbal decoctions and fermentationsLehyams – semi solid formulation are commonly prescribed. Some of the herbs and spices used in the preparation of kashayams and lehyams for treating Diabetes include neem, gurmar leaves, karela and vinca rose etc.

Diet regulations for Diabetes

Diet regulation will be suggested for patients suffering from Diabetes during and after the treatment. They should strictly avoid sugar in any form. Apart from this consumption of rice, bananas, potatoes, and sweet fruits should also be avoided. They can however consume a low calorie, low fat and alkaline diet. Seeds of bitter gourd, and fenugreek, Vegetables such as bitter gourd, cucumber, onion, garlic, Fruits such as Indian gooseberry and grape fruits, Grains such as Bengal gram and black gram, Dairy products such as home made cottage cheese, curd, butter milk etc can all be consumed. Besides, consumption of raw vegetables are always advisable. You can find out your type of prakruthi and decide a diet for yourself

Yoga and Life style for Diabetes

Yoga and meditation are always beneficial and have always played a vital part in curing every type of disease. Yoga exercises done every day replenish and re balance the physical and emotional systems that are depleted by the everyday stresses that lie so heavy on our lives. Yoga makes it possible to rest on a strong base of confidence and strength within oneself. Light yoga postures, meditations and breathing exercises are advised. Yoga exercises such as Bhujang Asana,( cobra pose), Shalabah Asana( Locust pose) and Dhanur Asana( Bow pose ) are highly beneficial.

Life Style for Diabetes Patients suffering from Diabetes are advised to take at least one or two weeks of rest after the Panchakarma experience. At this time the body is weak after the purification process and needs time to get back to normalcy. Diabetes patients are advised to avoid sleep during the day. It should be remembered that they should avoid all sorts of injuries as any injury, especially that of the foot may take long time to heal . Proper care must be given to the upkeep of the eyes as the disease in an advanced stage can cause major problems for the eyes. Exercises such as cycling, swimming and jogging are recommended.

Obesity Help

When a person is suffering from  obesity-related  problems, he/she usually looks for  obesity  help. This is a service generally provided by health institutes and other social welfare associations.  Obesity  help assists persons who need a clear idea about  obesity , its symptoms, its common causes, its diagnosis, and its treatments.

Obesity  is a severe, often overlooked, disabling chronic situation that affects all. It is also defined as a body mass index (BMI) more than 30 kg/m2. Anyone more than a BMI of 40 is considered morbidly obese. This state increases the risk of many health conditions such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease, respiratory problems, and some cancers.

Obesity  may be caused by hypothyroidism, genetics, poor diet, lack of exercise, poor lifestyle habits, medication side effects and excess alcohol intake. A lot of precautions have to be taken while prescribing medicines for  obesity . These medicines are not generally suggested for treating  obesity  because of the risks that outweigh their benefits. The common medicines include diethylpropion, fenfluramine, mazindol, and phentermine.

An experienced health practitioner can give you information about  obesity  treatments, including weight loss pills and supplements, surgeries and their complications, etc. Many educational campaigns about the benefits of improved diets and better physical activity are the other sources to find right  obesity  help. Websites created by health organizations and social service groups are devoted to providing relevant information regarding  obesity  issues.

The main reason for finding  obesity  help is the increase of poor life-long nutrition choices and the lack of exercise. Poor nutrition is the cause of not only  obesity  but numerous other diseases. Good  obesity  help will help you feel healthy, perform daily activities better, and empower you to eradicate the need for  obesity  help in the future. If you follow a sound, healthy nutrition plan now and exercise on a regular basis using a good quality fitness program, you’re likely to get rid of the need for  obesity  help.

Diaper Rash

Babies have very sensitive skin, they can easily get  rashes  in their vulnerable parts. This might be caused by the weather change. But some babies have diaper  rash  from other causes. And most parents are annoyed when they notice this skin condition in their babies. They would like to know right away what is the best solution for this problem and also how to prevent it from happening in the future.

First of all, to avoid diaper  rash  you need to change a baby’s diapers frequently so that the old diaper will not irritate the skin. You have to check it before feeding and after, or in between feeding. And never forget to put diaper ointment on during every change. But if the  rashes  are there already, you have to buy a diaper ointment that can cure  rashes . The best ointments for  rashes  that we’ve found are mild formulations that use calendula cream, and the next best are ones that use zinc.

The most popular two products (the ones you’ll find in most baby sections of your local drug store) do not contain calendula cream. You have to really look for it or ask your pharmacist to order it. Calendula cream works by gently and naturally aiding in skin regeneration. (It works for irritated adult skin too.) Always remember that whenever you change the diaper be sure that you put thick ointment in it for fast recovery.

It is easy to tell if the baby needs help. Usually, they are cranky and fussy. And that makes the babysitter become alert; baby will be cranky and fussy if they are starving, not feeling well, or they have gas pains and wet diapers. Any attentive parent will sense that something is wrong. It’s up to you, the parent, to discover what the problem is. In some cases it will be diaper  rash . A redness indicates this is the problem.

Selecting the best product is done by looking at the ingredients. It is very important that ointment have good ingredients in it so that it will not be harmful for the baby. We advise parents to read ingredients on ointments and food. Even if you don’t do it for yourself, do it for your baby. They are more susceptible to injury by harmful ingredients. Manufacturers list ingredients so that you can judge whether the product is worth your money. If it has calendula cream it will do a baby’s diaper  rash  a world of good.

Anxiety Symptoms

Anxiety can cause a variety of physical and mental symptoms. Seek the advice of your health care professional if these symptoms are affecting your daily life. Here are a few of the most common anxiety symptoms.

Chest Pain

Chest pains are a frightening symptom of anxiety, and one that should not be taken lightly. If you are at all unsure about the cause of your chest pains, seek medical attention immediately. However, it is sometimes possible to tell the difference between the chest pains associated with anxiety and those of a heart attack. The chest pain of a heart attack is a knifelike pain that usually does not start in the chest. It may be possible to diminish the chest pain from anxiety with deep breathing exercises or a massage.

Neck, Face, and Shoulder Pain

Muscle tension and contraction can cause intense pain in the neck and shoulder area. This pain can often be relieved by relaxation exercises or massage.

Difficulty Swallowing

Sometimes, anxiety causes the muscles in the throat to contract making it feel as though you cannot breathe or swallow. It is important to remember that this is merely a reaction to anxiety and not a symptom that will cause you any real harm. It may feel unpleasant, but if you can calm down and practice taking slow breaths through your nose, this symptom will soon dissipate.

Indigestion and Digestive Disorders

With the release of adrenaline that accompanies anxiety, the blood races through the system and is diverted away from certain areas of the body, such as the digestive tract. This slows the digestion and causes the muscles around the stomach to tense up. This can cause indigestion, heartburn and diarrhea or constipation.

Sweating is your body’s way of reducing an increase in body temperature. When adrenaline is released into the system, the heart begins beating faster and the body heats up (similar to exercising.) This symptom will soon pass as the anxiety subsides and the body’s other physical responses return to normal.

Dry Mouth

Dry mouth often goes along with the other physical symptoms that are caused by anxiety. This symptom can be alleviated by taking a drink of purified water.

Shaking is a normal reaction to fear or a decrease in body temperature. When the muscles are tense, they may spasmodically contract and cause friction between the muscles and other body tissues.

Shortness of Breath

Anxiety can often make you feel as though you simply cannot get enough oxygen to your lungs. Your chest may feel tight and unable to expand to accommodate the air your body needs. It may even feel as though you are being smothered. Try to relax and remember that this is only a sensation caused by anxiety, you are actually getting plenty of air to your lungs. Sit down and concentrate on taking slow, deep, and regular breaths.

Weakness or Tingling in Extremities

When a stressful situation occurs, the body responds with a number of physical symptoms. Anxiety causes changes in the circulation, blood oxygen and blood carbon dioxide levels, and muscle tension. This combination of physical changes can cause a feeling of weakness in the extremities. When blood carbon dioxide levels are altered, it may accumulate in the extremities, causing a tingling sensation. Light exercise may help to alleviate these anxiety symptoms.

Sleep Disorders

Insomnia, difficulty staying asleep, and recurrent nightmares are common yet distressing symptoms of anxiety. It is important to try to maintain a regular sleeping schedule and to practice relaxation and breathing techniques to attain a better night’s sleep.

Heart Palpitations

When the body is faced with a stressful situation, adrenaline is released to prepare for a physical response. This chemical causes the heart to race and feel as if it is missing beats (heart palpitations.) Again, this is a common symptom and it is unlikely to lead to any actual cardiovascular distress.

Pale Complexion

Anxiety causes the blood to be diverted to the muscles and away from other areas of the body, such as the face. When the blood vessels in the face receive a reduced blood flow, the skin appears to lose some of its color, or rosy glow. This symptom of anxiety is not dangerous and will usually dissipate as the body’s other physical reactions return to normal.

Depression is a common symptom for people who experience anxiety disorders. People who are clinically depressed have a chemical imbalance that may cause or be a side effect of anxiety. You should seek help from a qualified medical professional if you feel a persistent feeling of anxiety.

Spasmodic muscle contractions and muscle tension can cause discomfort, headaches or even migraines. Tension in the muscles that surround the skull may make you feel as though you have a tight band wrapped around your head. Also, the reduced blood flow to the head and brain can cause pain in the eyes, face, and jaw.

Depression and Insomnia

Are you depressed? Do you have insomnia? Have you ever wondered whether there is a connection between the two? Troubled sleep has been considered a hallmark of depression. At least 80% of depressed people experience insomnia. About 15% of depressed people sleep excessively, and early morning awakening has also been linked to depression. One study found that the group of people most likely to suffer from their first time of depression were those who woke up several times throughout the night but then went back to sleep (middle insomnia). Researchers are now beginning to recognize insomnia and depression as two distinct disorders interacting with one another. And when the two co-exist, addressing the insomnia may be of considerable help in accelerating the treatment of depression.

It turns out that the sleep patterns of depressed people are different from normal people. Depressed people fall quickly into REM sleep (which is when we dream); and for them, this phase of sleep is unusually long and intense. Evidently something about dreaming is important to depression but we don’t clearly know what that would be. Since REM sleep is involved with consolidating emotional memories it is possible that the intense activation of REM sleep in depressed people causes the over-consolidation of negative memories so that the depressed person is prone to remembering negative feelings and events. According to sleep researcher Michael Perlis, “There’s something wrong with the memories that depressed people are consolidating and the way that the REM system is mood-regulating.” It is also possible that since psychologists have long suggested that we work out problems in our dreams, lacking the opportunity to imagine solutions in our sleep makes it more difficult to resolve problems when we’re awake

Insomnia may even be an early warning sign of depression. Studies done by Michael Perlis have shown that insomnia seems to precede depression episodes by about 5 weeks. Sleep problems may actually set in motion several forces in the nervous system that bring on an episode of depression.

The sleep problems connected to depression might be the body’s attempt to correct itself. Apparently in some depressed people, insomnia actually has an antidepressant effect. There has been evidence that staying awake for extended periods improves the functioning of the serotonin system, and maybe the dopamine system too. Both serotonin and dopamine are neurotransmitters that have been linked to depression

It may be that insomnia may begin as the body’s attempt to enhance serotonin production and to dampen the hyper arousal created by the chronically activated stress system of depressed people. Once insomnia starts, however, people experience frustration and anxiety about falling asleep, and they do things like drinking, napping, or changing sleep patterns; which wind up perpetuating the insomnia so it becomes a problem in its own right. Insomnia leads to fatigue, irritability, memory and concentration problems, loss of interest in activities etc. Fatigue makes it difficult to function and often creates pessimism. In other words, the insomnia leads to depression. Because it disrupts the brain and is a stressor in it’s own right, sleep loss renders people even more vulnerable to depression and precipitates episodes of it. So the depression is actually secondary to the insomnia.

The current thinking is that treating the insomnia may delay an episode of depression or at least stop it from becoming chronic. Maybe if we focus on curbing the insomnia associated with depression, then the depression will go away too. Studies done by David Morawetz, as well as others support this idea. Morawetz found that for many people who suffer from both depression and insomnia, treating the insomnia successfully without medication did indeed eliminate or significantly reduce the depression. Doctors have been noticing that often when a patient’s depression is cured, the insomnia still remains. Residual insomnia has been associated with a higher risk of relapsing into depression. It seems that when patients have major depression combined with insomnia, treating both problems individually but simultaneously may create a synergy for curing both.

According to Dr. Andrew D. Krystal, M.D., of Duke, “If you have a depression patient who has insomnia, it’s very important to treat that insomnia. If you just treat the depression, many times the insomnia doesn’t get better, and the outcome is not as good in terms of both depression and sleep.” He reported of his study, “Co-therapy led to an enhancement of the antidepressant response that was not sleep-item specific but evident across the range of depression symptoms, and affected an increasing number of aspects of depression over time for at least 10 weeks.” Dr Kumar Budur notes that “we’ve seen that when patients are treated for depression and insomnia simultaneously, the patient tends to get better faster–and they tend to stay better for a longer time.”

It seems that depression and insomnia, while being two separate disorders, do interact with each other. There does seem to be a connection between the two. The American Psychiatric Association has quoted a study in which people with insomnia were nearly 10 times more likely to have depression and over 17 times more likely to have anxiety than people without insomnia. So, if you are depressed and also have insomnia, it would be a good idea to be treated for both. Maybe once you start sleeping better, your depression will go away faster and easier.

Explaining Toenail Removal Surgery

Toenail removal may sound to many like an awful procedure. However, there are many instances in which toenail removal is medically required, and the procedure itself is relatively painless beyond a brief numbing injection. It is performed on a daily basis in podiatry offices and urgent care clinics for nails that have chronic disease. This article will discuss the reasons why this procedure is performed, and how it can be performed quickly and comfortably.

Toenail removal is performed for a variety of different conditions in medical care, and nearly always due to nails that are painful, severely malformed, or are significantly cosmetically displeasing. Nails often become diseased beyond the point of medical treatment to restore them back to their natural state. This can occur when nails become fungally infected, and medical treatment is either ineffective or the nail is too thick and painful from the infection process to bear. Nail fungus infections develop when fungus, a microscopic organism responsible for athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm, moves from the skin around the nails and into the skin underneath the nails. This infection causes the nail to thicken, become discolored, crumbly, and misshapen. Nail fungus is difficult to treat without resorting to oral medications or very specialized topical medications. Some nails can become so diseased that they are painful in shoes or with pressure, and even medication cannot restore these nails to their normal state. In this situation, nail removal is often advised.

Nails also change over time, becoming thickened and misshapen as we age. Many older people simply have thick, uncomfortable nails due to changes in the nail root growth pattern from a lifetime of shoe pressure and minor toe injuries. This process is hastened along at a younger age when there is an injury that bruises the nail or causes it to loosen or fall off. The force produced by these injuries often results in permanent cell damage to the nail root tissue that makes the nail. When the nail finally begins to grow again, it can become thick, grow upward or outward, or become ingrown and c-shaped. Unfortunately, this change is permanent and can never be reversed. Sometimes these nails likewise become painful, and removal is often used to relieve the pain.

Many people have ingrown toenails, either from birth or from the process described above. Unless the adjacent skin becomes inflamed, ingrown toenails do not generally hurt. However, some people develop chronic nail inflammation, and require a procedure to remove the ingrown side of the nail. Usually this can be performed by simply removing one side of the nail, or both, while leaving the central part of the nail alone. In cases where the nail is so severely curved that it looks like an upside down “c”, there would remain little nail after removal of the ingrown borders. In this case, complete nail removal is usually recommended and performed.

Finally, some people simply do not like the look of one of their nails, and may not necessarily have pain associated with it. In this case, the nail may be slightly oddly shaped, or may be discolored from keratin debris under the nail. Although many podiatrists and other physicians who remove toenails generally shy away from pure cosmetic procedures, nail removal can still be performed under the right circumstances.

No matter what the above reasons excepting pure cosmetic motivation, nail removal often makes sense from a medical perspective. Toenails serve no anatomic purpose at this point in human development, and the tissue underneath is simply normal skin. One does not lose anything by having a toenail removed. It is preferable in these situations to remove the toenail permanently, as allowing it to grow back will result in the exact same problem.

The procedure to remove a toenail usually takes under ten minutes from start to finish. It is nearly always performed in an office or medical clinic, and only rarely are toenails removed in an operating room. A local anesthetic is injected into the toe at its base. This is the only part of the procedure that is uncomfortable, and the stinging from the medication lasts under 20 seconds. The toe is cleansed with an antiseptic solution, and the toenail is then gently removed once it is determined the toe is completely numb. The skin underneath the toenail is assessed for any damage caused by the nail disease. The nail root cells found just under the cuticle area are then usually destroyed with a acidic chemical (phenol), although some physicians may use sharp instruments or laser to destroy them. The entire process is over quickly, and the skin is covered with an ointment after the remaining chemical is diluted using rubbing alcohol. A dressing is then placed over the toe, and one is then discharged home without any significant restrictions. Home care involves daily soaking in warm soapy water for 15-20 minutes followed by dressing with ointment and a small bandage or band-aid. Some physicians use a specialized gel that can allow one to skip the soaking all together. This process continues for at least 2 weeks, and the toe skin under the nail generally heals and toughens up within 3-4 weeks. Pain after the procedure is usually limited to only a minor throbbing sensation felt for a couple days, and often is absent completely. Complications such as significant infection or significant pain are uncommon, and are generally related to poor self-care or a minor infection that can be treated with basic antibiotics. Once the skin heals, one will have to look carefully to notice that the nail is gone, and cosmetic-minded women can still paint the skin to match the polish on the other intact nails.

As one can see, the removal of a toenail that is diseased and painful is simple, removes the symptoms completely, and allows for one to be able to return to shoes in comfort. It sounds worse than it really is, and the relief gained far outweighs the discomfort many people have in thinking about the removal itself. It should be considered if one suffers from diseased toenails that are otherwise not effectively treatable.

Acrylic Nail Fungus

There’s really no such thing as acrylic nail fungus – fungi don’t really infect artificial nails, but may infect the natural nail underneath the acrylic one. Fungi that do this are the same species that infect fingernails and toenails in people who don’t wear acrylic nails. Fungal infection of a fingernail may go unnoticed for longer under an acrylic nail perhaps, because it is covered up.

The best approach to getting rid of an artificial fingernail fungus infection is probably to let the nail first revert to its natural state. Have the acrylic nail removed and trim back the natural nail as much as possible so that you can treat the area with an antifungal agent. Exposed from under the acrylic nail fungus will look quite ugly and embarrassing, but it’s best to put up with this or you will likely have a difficult time clearing up the infection.

Even without the artificial fingernail fungus will not go away on its own. The first step is to make sure that what you think is acrylic nail fungus is really that and not some other nail abnormality that looks similar. It’s best to consult a medical professional for a proper diagnosis before choosing a treatment. Should you decide to use a prescription drug to treat the problem, a medical doctor is the only one who can give you a prescription and advise you about treatment.

There are alternatives to prescription drugs for acrylic nail fungus – some of the alternative remedies on the market today show great promise as relatively inexpensive and effective treatments for both natural fungal nail infections and artificial nail fungus. Studies have shown that some plants have potent antifungal properties and alternative medicine practitioners have exploited these botanical properties to produce both topical and oral products that are marketed as nail fungus remedies. The best of these are the ones that contain tea tree oil, an essential oil obtained from the Australian tea tree. Research has shown that tea tree oil has antifungal properties as well as antiviral and antibacterial activity.

Alternative nail fungus remedies are predominantly topical applications – solutions that are applied to the nail and that penetrate through to the fungus underneath to do their work. This is why, in the case of acrylic nail fungus, it’s important to expose the natural nail where the infection is in order to treat the infection properly.

Sprained, Tears or Fractured?

Sports injuries are inevitable at some point in time of your life. After a hard training session or a game of your favourite sports, there will definitely be those post game aches and pain that you will suffer which are perfectly normal. In unwanted cases, you could have landed badly from a jump or fell awkwardly on your shoulders, resulting in a swollen ankle or shoulder. You try to self medicate but what injury is it exactly? Is it a sprain, muscle tear or a fracture? How do you differentiate them from one another?

A sprain occurs when you stretch or partially tear the fibrous tissues or more commonly known as your ligaments. They occur mostly in places such as your ankles and wrists. Ligaments helps to connect the connective tissues from your bones to your joints. There are three degrees of sprains namely the first, second and third degree. Some signs of sprains include pain, bruising, tenderness, inflammation, swelling and immobility of the affected area. Sprains can usually heal on their own but more serious sprains may require surgery. Always see a doctor if the pain is excruciating or you suffer from numbness in the area which could imply something more serious.

Muscle tear or commonly known as muscle strain implies that you have torn a muscle or a tissue called tendons. They occur most commonly in places such as the hamstring which is located at the back of you thigh. Muscle tear can cause severe pain and inability to walk or carry out normal functions properly. They are commonly caused by over use of muscles, suddenly pulling of the affected tissues and cyclic cycles of muscles.

Fractures are probably the most serious as compared to tears and sprains. A fracture implies that there is a broken or cracked bone involved. Fractures are extremely serious injuries and you must seek a doctor immediately. Common symptoms include difficulty in breathing, loss of mobility at the affected area, fingers or toes turning blue due to lack of blood flow and seeing a bone sticking through the skin. There are two types of fractures namely the acute and stress fractures. Simple acute fractures are caused by a sudden hard blow to the bone resulting in the bone breaking, causing injury only to the bone and not to the surrounding tissues. If you see a bone sticking through your skin, you have a compound acute fracture which will cause infection to the surrounding tissues and are much more serious. Stress fractures are normally from repeated stress on your affected area mainly caused by sports or gymnastics.

Now that you know what sports injury you are suffering from, you can do the necessary R.I.C.E actions and seek a doctor if you need to. There are so many different sports injuries and above are only three of them. Always consult a doctor if you are unsure as wrong self mediation can further aggravate the injury.

False Police Reports and Perjury

Bearing false witness, false police reports and perjury. A couple of years ago a woman, who grew up in this area and still lives here, was bragging to me about the lives she has destroyed.

I listened at first with shock, then with growing disgust and finally I became so upset I threw up. She was and is very proud of her victories and didn’t even hesitate to answer my questions.

Let me give you some basic facts:

1. She began doing this about 9 years old.

2. She has criminally charged 29 men and women with child molestation, sexual assault and domestic violence.

3. She has defamed these people to anyone who will listen. Everything, and I mean everything, from “they are mean” all the way to “He is the father of my child.”

4. These people are her father, stepfather, mother’s boyfriend’s sister’s boyfriends and husbands, her boyfriends, one ex-husband, her mother, and others.

The basic scenario is:

Note: She admits the person doesn’t need to make her angry with them.

1. She gets bored.

2. She singles out one person and begins to tell other people stories. Trying different versions of the ‘horrible little stories’, until she finds a version that people react to.

3. Then she physically attacks the person, having pre-chosen the timing and location for no witnesses.

4. The person either gets away, attempts to defend himself or herself and then runs away, or gets knocked out.

Note: She said the physical attack is necessary to enforce the demoralization of her victims.

5. In the past she would run the hot water to get it really hot, while she called the police. By holding a hot wet rag to her skin, her face would redden and swell.

But she discovered this was damaging her skin so she doesn’t do that anymore.

6. She was a small child and is a small woman. Her victims are always larger people.

7. She tells her story to the police, adding that the person just attacked her.

8. She fills out a false police report.

She laughs about the penalties of filing a false police report. She has filed 29 of them and even though some ‘cops’ didn’t believe her, every false police report went to the DA. Every person was charged.

9. She keeps tabs on how much money these people spend for bail, lawyers, court fines, court ordered programs like anger management, or their lost jobs, lost homes, broken families.

10. She makes a point of getting the ear of their bosses or fellow workers and continues to defame the person to anyone who will listen to her.

11. She prefers to pick something the person cares a lot about like their home, family or work. When the person has lost that one thing that is most important to them she losses interest in them.

For example:

Her now ex-husband was shifting a heavy piece of equipment stored in the living room. The next thing he knew the police were arresting him while the ambulance attendants were loading him onto a gurney to transport him to the hospital.

He remembers nothing after bending down to shift the load.

He had a concussion and had almost 70   bruises . Most of the  bruises  were of the same size and shape, suggesting an object had been used to beat him. The woman filed a false police report, signed it and swore he had beaten her. The police officers reported she had one small  bruise  on the back of one hand. She was calm, not in the slightest bit ruffled and she refused to go to the hospital.

Yes, the charges went straight to the DA. Where the now ex-husband was charged with domestic violence. Over the last several years he has spent almost $50,000 in bail, lawyers, court fees and fines, court ordered programs. Most of these programs the judges have ordered him to pay for twice and attend twice.

She continues to defame and harass him.

I went to several of the falsely accused people. They told me to leave things be. To not stir her up against them again.

She is now telling ‘horrible little’ stories about the man she has been with for almost two years.

He is obviously the next victim.

But what about the victim after him? Will it be you, your brother, your father, or your neighbor?

To file a false police report is a crime. To actually sign and swear to that false police report, which is a court document, carries a penalty of perjury, sentencing to be whatever the penalty your falsely accused victim faced.

To criminally defame a person is a crime, each time you do it.

Police respond to a call, take statements and file their own affidavits.

The DA takes these reports, looks them over, asks the police to investigate unclear portions and then decides if there is a case. When the DA sees the ‘victim’ with one small  bruise  and is refusing to go to the hospital, while the ‘beater’ has a concussion, almost 70  bruises  all over his body and no marks on his hands, the DA must stop and look very closely at everything including the ‘victim.’

In this case such a background search would have shown 29 police reports, 29 court proceedings.

There are cases where one person ‘exaggerates’ or flat out lies on a police report, in the heat of anger.

In a few hours, days or weeks they recant and tell the truth. There are cases where the DA catches the ‘exaggerations’ and lies and tosses the file.

There are too many cases where a false police report is filed, charges are brought and the falsely accused person just gives up and cops a plea bargain. There is no excuse for this woman getting away with this time after time.

Do not tell me the DA can’t see her Juvenile records, her victims were not all juveniles. In fact only a few were under 18 when she charged them. The man she is with is the next victim. What if she ‘accidentally’ kills or makes a vegetable out of him? After him who is next?

She has a child now.

Herpes: More Common Than You Think

One of eight North Americans (30 million) has genital herpes, even though only one in five knows that he or she has it. Herpes is classified into type I that affects primarily the mouth (“canker sores”), and type II that affects primarily the genitals, although both types can go both places. According to a study in the American Journal of Epidemiology almost one percent of North Americans acquire new cases of recurrent genital herpes each year. That’s 1,640,000 new cases of recurrent genital herpes, in 730,000 men and 910,000 women.

To get herpes, you need the virus and broken skin. Since rubbing breaks skin, sexual contact with infected partners is a frequent cause of herpes. Typically, a person develops grouped painful or itchy blisters that look like poison ivy and disappear after one to six weeks. For some, genital herpes never recur, but almost all people who have a painful first episode will have recurrent blisters in exactly the same place.

A person who has herpes can be contagious, even when there are no visible blisters. The only way to diagnose herpes is to have a culture done on a wet blister. There are no dependable blood tests to tell if you have herpes because more than 92 percent of all Americans have had herpes and therefore have positive blood tests.

Herpes is the most common cause of swelling and pain around the rectum or vagina; anyone with these symptoms should get a culture for herpes, even if they are not sexually active.

Almost all North Americans have had herpes, but only seven percent get blisters recurrently. If you have had only one bout of herpes, you do not need treatment. If you have fewer than four recurrent genital herpes attacks per year, your doctor will probably prescribe 21 500mg tablets of Famvir or Valicyclovir that you keep on hand all the time and take them at the first tingling or itching that precede an outbreak. If you have more than 4 attacks a year, your doctor will probably prescribe valicyclovir or Famivir. By the third year on that regimen, as many as 82 percent have no outbreaks at all. Taking acyclovir every day can help to prevent a person from being contagious. Valicyclovir and Famvir are both approved by the FDA for long-term use.

People with recurrent herpes can be contagious any time, but they are less likely to be contagious when they do not have blisters. Virtually everyone in North America has had herpes, but only seven percent get it recurrently. If a person with recurrent herpes is on Valtrex every day, he or she will not shed as much and not be as contagious. Personally, I would not ruin a relationship because of herpes because you are not likely to find anyone who has not had herpes.

Pancreatic Diseases – Non Drug Remedy

This article focuses on how the Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water helps treat pancreatic diseases. The properties of the Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water are completely unknown by the American public and medical professionals. Most North Americans tend to think of mineral water as something to drink either as a snack or with meals. Yet, Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water is not just something to drink when thirsty. This “magical” water contains healing properties for a variety of chronic disorders, as well as for health maintenance.

European doctors and scientists have used this water for centuries. 100 years ago, Karlovy Vary Water was the only possible way to treat diabetes, obesity, gout, stomach ulcers, pancreatic diseases and liver problems. Today it continues to serve as a very important complementary alternative therapy for healing these chronic disorders.

There is no other mineral supplement in the world like Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water. Research on this water began over 500 years ago. Since then, hundreds of clinical texts and articles have been published describing the positive effects of the water on both animals and humans.

Karlovy Vary water was found to be so beneficial that work was done to manufacture the salt from the evaporated thermal spring water. In 1764, an inexpensive method was discovered that made it possible to distribute the water throughout the world. Czech doctors determined that the water manufactured from the genuine Karlovy Vary thermal spring salt had identical healing properties as the spring.

To understand the healing action of this water on pancreatic diseases one needs to understand the pancreas structure and function.

The pancreas is an elongated and tapered gland that lies across the back of the abdomen behind the stomach in the loop of the   duodenum . It secretes digestive enzymes into the  duodenum  and hormones, such as insulin, into the blood stream.

The pancreatic cells secrete digestive enzymes into a net of ducts that meet to form the main pancreatic duct. This duct merges the common bile duct (which carries bile from the gallbladder) and liver to form a small cavity that opens into the  duodenum . The opening has a muscle valve called the Sphincter of Oddi that controls secretions from the liver, pancreas, and gallbladder into the  duodenum  of the small intestine.

Spasms or valve blockages may cause a back up of the pancreatic fluids, thus, increasing the pancreatic duct pressure. Trapped inside, the pancreas digestive enzymes start to digest their own pancreatic cells causing congestion, inflammation, pain, cysts and finally death of the pancreatic tissue.

Pancreatitis may develop at first in acute and then in chronic conditions. Solid, difficult to eliminate bile, small and large gallbladder stones, inflammation and trauma of bile ducts during surgery can cause blockage of the Sphincter of Oddi.

Valve spasms can also occur due to stress, fatty meals, alcohol consumption and smoking.

The pH of the pancreatic fluid is alkaline due to the fact that the digestive enzymes become active only in an alkaline environment. Normally the pancreatic fluid contains a large amount of minerals and bicarbonates to keep the alkaline condition. When the pancreas is congested, inflamed or damaged, the fluids lose their alkalinity, thereby causing valve spasms and blockages.

Used for centuries by generations of Europeans, Karlovy Vary water made from the Genuine Karlovy Vary Thermal Spring Salt has been popular in Europe as a natural approach to Chronic Pancreatitis. Positive benefits of the Karlovy Vary water are brought about by a beneficial complex composition of potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, sulfates, bicarbonates, chlorides, and a lot of trace minerals such as zinc, cobalt, selenium, lithium, copper and more.

According to European doctors, the most important action of the water is to enhance production and flow of bile, open the Sphincter of Oddi and decrease pressure inside the pancreas. Additionally, the Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water supplies the pancreas with minerals and bicarbonates, the main ingredients of the pancreatic fluids. The water promotes the manufacture and release of digestive hormones in the  duodenum  and regulates the digestive process in the gastrointestinal tract and liver. The digestive hormones signal to the pancreas the amount of enzymes and bicarbonate that will be needed to digest protein, sugars, starches, and lipids arriving from the stomach into the  duodenum .

Karlovy Vary water made from the Genuine Karlovy Vary Thermal Spring Salt is a safe and effective non-drug alternative remedy for chronic pancreatitis.

The Most Common Causes of Yeast Infection

Adult humans have 3 to 4 pounds of beneficial bacteria, numbering about 70 trillion individual organisms, living in our digestive system. Yeast is present in every one of us. The shear strength in numbers of the beneficial bacteria keeps yeast in check. They are in charge and make yeast produce vitamins, such as the B complex, within our bodies. If this balance is altered by reducing the good bacteria, yeast, being very opportunistic, will spread and take over as a yeast infection or as a fungal parasite or candida (mold), causing a wide variety of unhealthy side effects and diseases.

The most common cause of yeast infection is antibiotics and their overuse

Dr. John Pitt, on Penicillum in 1979 stated: “It is very ironic that this humbled fungus, hailed as a benefactor of mankind, may by its very success prove to be a deciding factor in the decline of the present civilization”.

Simply stated, antibiotics are dangerous mycotoxins, fungal metabolites, that kill bacteria, even the good bacteria that are present in our intestines and essential for good health. This upsets the delicate balance of the yeast to bacteria ratio in your digestive system, giving the yeast fungi the upper hand in creating a yeast infection. Without the good bacteria in your system to control yeast, it spreads and becomes a toxic fungal parasite known as candida.

Penicillin is a good example of a fungal by-product called a mycotoxin. It was discovered from a mold (mold is a fungus) experiment that Dr. Fleming was performing on a bacteria colony. He added some mold from bread to the colony and observed that the fungus killed all the bacteria; producing the substance he later named penicillin. The number one cause of yeast infection was born in 1928 and is so over-prescribed today that yeast infection is a growing epidemic.

Another cause of yeast infection and the destruction of stomach flora are anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and naproxen…

These two drugs are common over the counter medications that many people take. Very few people realize what they are doing to their health by taking them. America has become a nation of drug dependent people. Not a night goes by when you don’t see a TV commercial for some kind of drug promising some miraculous cure for something. These drugs all contribute to the destruction of bacteria and are a cause of yeast infection.

Another cause of yeast infection, theorized by some doctors, are birth control pills given to women. In the natural menstrual cycle of women, right after ovulation on about the 18th day, both progesterone and estrogen decline to very low levels. At the same time estradiol begins to rise into menses and then these three hormones return to normal. Most birth control pills contain estradiol in significant amounts and add to this problem.

The hormone link as a cause of yeast infection for women is very common. Almost all women that suffer from recurring vaginal yeast infections will tell you that they do indeed get flare ups at the third week of their cycle. . Fortunately, there are now natural herbs and supplements to treat and balance the hormones to eliminate this problem. Like colloidal silver as a minerals supplement.

According to the 2001 Asthma and Allergy Report, the first immunodeficiency syndrome was identified in 1952. Since that time 95 more have been identified with new conditions being discovered every day. The report also states that increased use of antibiotics in infancy is contributing to increased risks of allergies. What is interesting to me is in the 1950’s antibiotics came into wide spread general use in medicine. Do you see a correlation here?

The most common prescription for antibiotics is for upper respiratory infections, but according to Dr. Carol Kauffman, “most of these infections are caused by a fungus”. So they do not require an antibiotic as treatment, yet doctors continue to prescribe them. This, over time, will alter the balance in stomach bacteria allowing the yeast to overgrow, and the result is candida, or worse. And by using colloidal silver as a mineral supplement it will solve this problem.

Doctors plead ignorance when their patients develop allergies, intestinal disorders, etc, not even realizing that the very drugs they prescribed are the cause of a yeast infection and these other fungal diseases. Over time, your good stomach bacteria become overwhelmed by yeast as it kills even more of your good bacteria. Candida or fungal disease is the result. By using colloidal silver as a mineral supplement for treating yeast infection it will not affect natural flora. Colloidal Silver safely kills over 650 disease-causing bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, and molds, has no negative side-effects (the body requires silver for tissue regeneration and promotes the replacement of specialized cells) and is absolutely safe for human consumption.

It becomes a never-ending cycle. You get an antibiotic for your cold or flu; women especially get a vaginal yeast infection. The doctor gives them an anti-fungal or an anti-fungal cream, or they purchase it over the counter at the local drugstore. The infection is beaten for a time, but then it returns. This will continue to happen until the cause of yeast infection is addressed with natural therapies as colloidal silver natural and diet.

In 1998, two scientists Bernstein and Ross discovered that antibiotics “significantly increased risk of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in humans”.

In studies done on mice in 2000 and published in “Principals and Practices of Infectious Diseases”, a “single injection of streptomycin eradicated the protective effective effect of normal flora”. Streptomycin is prescribed usually for people that are allergic to penicillin and definitely establishes one of the causes of yeast infection to antibiotics.

Now it would be a rare individual that could go through life with never being prescribed an antibiotic. Choose wisely if you really need to take them or not for whatever it is you have at the time, since they are the main cause of yeast infection in humans. Have your doctor prescribe Nystatin with it to avoid the overgrowth of yeast infection. Then get on a good probiotic product such as Total Immune Booster, which actually does grow new bacterial colonies. For several decades, silver has proven itself in the treatment of burns, and eye, ear, nose, throat, vaginal, rectal, and urinary tract infections. Silver has been prescribed as an adjunct treatment for reproductive disorders in women and the circulatory system, as well as a treatment for AIDS infective complications. (For use on the following we recommend you purchase the colloidal silver as it is smaller and more effective: It has been used as a remedy for allergies, boils, ulcers, lesions, thyroid conditions, infantile diseases, parasites, wounds of the eye, enlarged prostate, warts, bladder inflammation, infections of the inner ear, sleepwalking and anorexia nervosa.) Colloidal Silver also acts as a tissue regenerator by stimulating the production of de-differentiating cells, which promotes the replacement of specialized cells.

The following is a partial list of the more than 650 disease conditions in which colloidal silver has demonstrated proven clinical improvement: Acne, Acne Rosacea, Anthrax Bacilli, Arthritis, Athlete’s Foot, Blood Poisoning, Bladder Infections, Bubonic Plague, Blood Parasites (causes gray hair), Cancer, Candidia (Yeast Infection), Chilbains, Cholera, Chronic Fatigue, Colitis, Conjunctivitis, Cystitis, Dermatitis, Diabetes, Diptheria, Dysentery, Eczema, Fibrositis, Gastritis, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis, Herpes Virus, Hay Fever, Impetigo, Influenza, Keratitis, Leprosy, Leukemia, Lupus, Lyme Disease, Lymphagitis, Malaria, Meningitis, Neurasthenia, Ophthalmia, Pheumonia, Pluerisy, Pruritis Ani, Psoriasis, Pymphagitis, Rheumatism, Rhiritis, Ringworm, Rosacea, Scarlet Fever, Seborrhea, Septicemia, Shingles, Skin Cancer, Staph Infection, Stomach Flu, Strep, Syphilis, Tonsillitis, Toxemia, Trench foot, Trachoma, Tuberculosis, Whooping Cough. It is also used for all bacterial, fungal and viral attacks on plants. Simply spray diluted silver on the leaves and add to soil water.

Foods as a Cause of Yeast Infection

There are many foods that can be a cause of yeast infections but antibiotics are the primary cause of yeast infection due to the fact that they kill beneficial bacteria in the intestines. This allows the yeast and fungi to take control and proliferate in the human body. Antibiotics are also present in many common foods that most of us eat. More recently antibiotics are now being detected in the water supply from our overuse. The wastewater enters the sewer system, which is then treated, and pumped right back into the water table. The antibiotics are never removed and it becomes a never-ending circle.

How do these antibiotics get in our foods?

The most common foods that can be a cause of yeast infections in America are beef and dairy. The livestock industry gives antibiotics to their cattle, this is supposed to kill bad bacteria and make the food supply safer. But they are also used to fatten up cows. A fat cow will sell more than a thin cow, won’t it? These antibiotics are getting into the dairy product food chain. They are present in milk, cheese, and the meat itself. This is creating antibiotic resistance in humans and bad bacteria, not to mention the long-term health effects to our children, and it ultimately destroys the beneficial bacteria in our intestines allowing a yeast infection to grow in your body.

They also shove these cows into unnatural feeding environments and fatten them up with grain foods that can be a cause of yeast infections, making the meat unfit for human consumption due to mold contamination. The meat can become loaded with mycotoxins from these molds. You eat it, and it is passed on to you.

Other foods that can be a cause of yeast infections are grain foods. Wheat, oats, barley, rye, sorghum, corn, red apples, and peanuts are also universally contaminated with fungus. These foods find their way into our systems from cereals, pastas, breads, potato chips, crackers, peanut butter, cooking oils, etc.

How can this be, you wonder? Grains are usually stored in silos for extended periods of time. They can be stored for years before they are ever sold and brought to market for food processing. During this time, they grow molds in these silos. Now I would assume when they go to process these grains for human consumption they would wash them, but the molds and mycotoxins will enter into the inside of the grain as they try to break them down into dirt. The grains get ground up for processing, and the rest is history. The worst of these grains, as far as mold contamination, are sold for livestock feed and alcohol processing–beer mostly.

Other foods that can be a cause of yeast infections are peanuts, corn, and red apples, which will actually grow mold on them as they grow. Peanuts also are the most genetically engineered food on the planet, stick too organic.

These foods can kill the beneficial bacteria in our digestive system because of the molds they are contaminated with. They also allow the yeast to grow since the yeast eats the sugars in these foods. They often sit in the intestine and ferment before digestion, which causes a condition known as dysbiosis, or toxic colon. These toxins alter good bacterial supplies and yeast gains the upper hand.

Mycotoxins from molds and fungi are also known cancer-causing agents that are released by molds and yeasts. One of these mycotoxins, called aflatoxin, happens to be the most carcinogenic substance on earth. In the common diets of today, grains are consumed in all three meals in some form, from cereals to breads and pastas. So every day the average American is consuming .15mg to .5mg of aflatoxin.

The western diet of today, due to sugars and molds in the foods we eat, is a cancer-causing machine. The addition of these sugars allows the yeast to thrive unbeknown to many people that have it, and allows it to inject its own mycotoxins into your body. This will suppress the immune system and lead to other autoimmune system diseases such as cancer, lupus, multiple sclerosis, crohns, arthritis, skin disorders, chronic fatigue, depression, fibromyalgia, etc. if left untreated.

Chlorine is added to the water supply of the US to kill parasites, microbes, and bad bacteria present in our drinking water supply. But when you drink this water directly from your tap, the chlorine kills the good bacteria in your intestines. To chlorine, bacteria is bacteria, it doesn’t know the difference from good or bad.

Fluoride also is a cause of yeast infection and killer of, not only intestinal bacteria, but also enzymes, which are the building blocks of all life and work on the cellular DNA level, as well as in the process of digestion and immune system health.

Buying a water distiller and using this water to not only drink, but to also cook with. It is the only system that will remove fluoride from your drinking water besides reverse osmosis, which makes the water too acidic. Fluoride has been found, when used for cooking, to release toxic metals from common cooking utensils. So called bottled spring water in independent testing is not always safe either, due to pollutants in the air, coming to the ground in rain, and getting in the water table, it can be just as bad for you. You also have tons of run off from fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, and other chemicals in the water supply. A lot of so-called spring water is really just filtered tap water. The industry is not regulated very strongly, so you can’t always be sure what you are really drinking. Buy a water distiller for your drinking and cooking needs. It will last a lifetime and be one of the best health investments you have ever made.

So how do we avoid these molds and antibiotics in our foods that can be a cause of yeast infection?

In almost every store in the country you can buy hormone and antibiotic free beef. Buy it, eat it, and simply don’t buy the rest.

Cut down on grain foods that cause yeast infections drastically by eliminating the chips, cookies, cakes, cereals, and pastas. Substitute pastas with rice that you have to fry first for a grain.

Eat more organic eggs for breakfast and organic milk if you must. And don’t worry about cholesterol, which is caused by mycotoxins in the blood stream, sugar, and trans fats, and is also an immune system response to these mycotoxins from fungus. Take away the mycotoxins and junk food and your cholesterol will be just fine.

Cause of Yeast Infection and the Immune System

Another cause of yeast infection is a generally weakened or deficient immune system.

How does the immune system get worn down enough to be a cause of yeast infection in the average person?

Many times a person has had an illness or injury and their health is never the same again. The body has been damaged too severely for the immune system to repair the cells properly, although it never stops trying. Over time, the immune system weakens to the point it can no longer defend the body. Instead, it focuses on other processes more important for continued life.

Every day we are exposing ourselves to polluted air from the smog from our cars and power plants, which, if coal-fired, deliver acid rain containing mercury to the ground that enters the food chain. Mercury, aluminum, lead, and excess iron are definitely linked to chronic yeast infections. If your levels are high and you do nothing to solve the problem, you will not get rid of your candida yeast infection.

There are now traces of over 300 toxins in our bodies that were not present before 1940. These toxins have been shown to bind to receptors, blocking important enzymatic reactions in the body weakening the immune system.

Chemicals in the home from soaps, laundry detergents, toothpastes, perfumes, cleaning solvents, etc. are causes. I could go on and on in this area. Even carpet is made of petroleum and plastics that are toxic. The effect is cumulative, it takes time, but yeast or other diseases are always the result.

Our foods are more and more genetically engineered and their food value becoming more and more questionable. Modern farming has stripped the soils of all minerals and vitamins, so foods have very little value any more. According to a report released at the 1992 Earth Summit, the USA has the worst soil in the world – 85% depleted. The rest of the world’s soils are not much better, with South America and Asia’s soils being 78% depleted, Africa 75%, Europe 70%, and Australia 58%. This means the potency of our food supply is not able to sustain optimum health. Is it any wonder we are overweight and chronically ill? We are literally starving to death from lack of nutrition!

Pesticides are used that kill beneficial soil based organisms that used to be a part of our diets from the family farms of old. We add chemicals to dairy foods to give it a longer shelf life.

The average American eats over 7 pounds of sugar a year which is creating a Type 2 diabetic epidemic in this country. Obesity is at an all time high from sugar and processed grains which themselves are turned to sugar when digested. The pancreas kicks in some insulin that picks up the sugar and deposits it on the body as fat. Fat is the fuel the body was originally designed to run on, not sucrose.

Sugar contributes to the cause of yeast infections by feeding the fungus in the body allowing it to grow and spread. Sugar is also by far the number one thing that can wear down your immune system. It is worse than smoking.

All of our food is cooked, processed, and enzymatically dead, this causes the pancreas an additional load, and it, must create more enzymes to digest these foods. The metabolic enzymes are forced to help out with digestion when they should be helping repair cells and removing wastes.

We vaccinate our children with basically poisons in the name of good health that actually weaken their immune systems.

Another very common cause of yeast infection is mold growing in ventilation systems. I have personally seen this condition inside air conditioners. These mold spores blow into the home, and once you breath them, they can travel through the body, causing asthma and bronchitis.

Predisposing Causes of Yeast Infection

  • Trauma
  • Altered Physiological states
  • Drug Addiction
  • Endocrine problems
  • Indwelling catheters
  • Blood disorders and neutropenia
  • Corticosteroid therapy
  • Reduced or dysfunctional phagocytosis
  • Irradiation
  • Transplantation
  • Diabetes
  • Malnutrition
  • Burns
  • Collagen disease

All these things contribute as a cause of yeast infections today and weaken our immune systems. Bacteria are our first line of defense in our immune systems, and all these things can and do contribute to help kill them.

It is becoming more and more necessary to take supplements every day to maintain a healthy body and a healthy immune system. Even the AMA recently suggested that everyone in the country should be on a multivitamin/mineral supplement for example like colloidal silver.

The trick is to take quality supplements and eat mostly good fresh foods. Drink plenty of clean fresh water to flush out poisons and wastes from the body while minimizing environmental toxins in the home.

The benefits? You will go through life healthier, more energetic, happier, and live to a ripe old age, if you so choose.

Candida and yeast infections cannot be beaten with diet alone; it simply will not work without good supplements to support cellular health as by using colloidal silver.

Menstrual Cycle – How to Slow Down Heavy Bleeding From Menstrual Period

For years, I had the worst menstrual cycle. I would go through probably 6 to 8 pads a day. During my period, I had heavy clotting and it seemed like the bleeding never ended. And of course, as a result of that, I was always so tired during my period.

Well, I could semi-deal with it before I had children but once I had a child, I had to figure out what to do to slow down the bleeding; and if you are a female… which I hope you are if you are reading this… then you understand that when you have a baby, you really can’t afford to be any more tired than you already are.

Well, I did some research and I found an answer t o slow down heavy bleeding that I was not too happy with … as they said to not eat sugar (as unfortunately, I love a good snickers bar)… as sugar will make it worse. As I watched my own patterns, I did notice as I ate sugar, my bleeding would get worse. Since sugar is a downfall of mine, I looked for another solution.

I stumbled across this one just by accident. Exercise. I found the more I exercised, the less I bled. However, I also found, with taking care of my baby, I had little energy to exercise… so that was not the best solution for me.

So off to solution number 3… and this is the one I use most of the time (although I have learned to cut out sugar a lot and definitely do when I need to be out in public… or go to work… on the first 3 days when my period is the worst). The solution to stop heavy menstrual bleeding is through raw apple cider vinegar.

I put approximately one tablespoon in a large glass of water and sip it throughout the day. If the bleeding is extra heavy, I will drink 2 glasses of water with 1 tablespoon of raw (must be “raw”. Braggs raw apple cider vinegar is awesome) apple cider vinegar a day.

I know some people can’t take the taste of the vinegar, so you could put it in a glass of apple juice (preferably sugar-free) or grape juice and drink it that way… to hide the strong taste.

I have gone down from probably 6 to 10 pads a day to now about 1 to 3 pads a day using vinegar.

Anyway, give this a try. I think you will be happy with the results… and if you take apple cider vinegar even when you don’t have your menstrual cycle, you will most likely experience a boost of energy as well.

Best Ayurvedic and Herbal Treatment For Gastritis

Gastritis is a common name for all kinds of inflammation of the inner lining of the stomach, which is known as the mucosa. It is characterized by severe stomach ailments like cramps in the stomach, diarrhea and constipation and even blood with the stools.

In Ayurveda, gastritis is known as Urdhavaga Amalapitta. It is caused in people with pitta constitution. When the pitta dosha gets vitiated in such people, there are greater chances of getting gastritis.

There are many causes of gastritis. Food poisoning can lead to gastritis, and so can consuming alcohol and drugs like aspirin and steroids. Allergies to certain foods can cause gastritis. Oblique causes for gastritis are physical stresses caused due to flu, some major surgery, severe burns or injuries.
