How to Be Healed of Cancer or Any Life-Threatening Disease God’s Way

A Dying Woman Receives Her Healing

Dr. Lillian B. Yeomans was healed by God and afterward preached the Gospel some forty years. Then she and her sister inherited real estate property and turned it into a “faith home” where they would take in people that were beyond medical help. They would build up the people’s faith with the Word of God so they could receive their healing.

One day a woman came to the home. She was dying, in the last stages of tuberculosis. She was brought upstairs where Dr. Yeomans began building up the dying woman’s faith with the Word of God. She spent some two hours reading to the woman scriptures on divine healing. She focused especially on Deuteronomy 28 and Galatians 3:13.

Then Dr. Yeomans instructed the woman to repeat to herself each waking moment, “According to Deuteronomy 28:22, consumption (or tuberculosis) is a curse of the law. But according to Galatians 3:13, Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. Therefore, I no longer have tuberculosis.”

The next day, Dr. Yeomans asked her if she had been repeating what she had been instructed. She said she had been repeating what she had been instructed even though she did not understand what the words meant. Dr. Yeomans read more scriptures to the woman and asked her to continue repeating the instructed words.

The following day the woman said she still did not understand the words she was repeating over and over. But that afternoon while Dr. Yeomans and her sister were preparing the evening meal, their new patient came rapidly down the stairs declaring with a loud voice, “Sister Yeomans – did you know? Christ has redeemed me, and I no longer have tuberculosis! It’s gone now!”

What happened? Dr. Lillian Yeomans knew the way into the heart is through the mind. That is why she had the woman declare over and over, “According to Deuteronomy 28:22, consumption (or tuberculosis) is a curse of the law. But according to Galatians 3:13, Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. Therefore, I no longer have tuberculosis.” So, eventually the truth of God’s Word registered on her heart and the woman received the manifestation of her healing.

Are you sick or have a disease? Insert in the declaration below the name of the sickness or disease you have and expect the eventual manifestation of healing as you daily speak this declaration throughout each day:

“According to Deuteronomy 28:61, (insert name of sickness or disease) is a curse of the law. But according to Galatians 3:13, Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. Therefore, I no longer have (insert name of sickness or disease).”

Just be patient and eventually the truth of what you are saying should register on your heart and your healing should manifest. The more time you spend doing this, the faster the results.

The Biology of Muscle Growth

The sheer number of articles, opinions, magazines and experts on fitness and muscle growth makes the field of weight lifting appear more like the practice of medicine in the 16th century than a concrete science. Every day new theories, approaches and miracle workouts appear, contradicting each other and proclaiming that they have the truth, and that by following their advice you will achieve the body of your dreams. Clearly, some of them are on the right track and some are not, but how to tell the difference between them all? The answer lies in understanding the basics of the biological process of muscle growth. Once you know some key principles, you will be better equipped to evaluate whether a new exercise routine is based on sound physical principles-or completely bogus.

The most basic principle to understand is that your muscles adapt to whatever stress they are subjected to. If you spend all day on the couch, then you will be in possession of a fine set of muscles equipped for couch sitting. If you jog forty minutes each day, than your body will adapt to that. If you always follow the same number of reps and sets and routine when weight lifting, then your body will adapt to that too. And once you’ve adapted, your system will stop growing, and simply rest at this new plateau, having achieved the bare minimum required to function at that level. Therefore the basic idea is that if you want growth, you need to continuously overload your system.

The result of progressively overloading your muscles is called muscular hypertrophy, and that is the increase in muscle mass and cross-sectional area. Note that the number of muscle cells does not increase ( a phenomenon called muscular hyperplasia), but rather the size increases. As you work out, your muscles are subjected to microtrauma, where small tears appear in the muscle tissue. These tears signal what are called the ‘satellite cells’ on the surface of your muscle to activate and multiply and go to the damaged sites where they fuse with the existing muscle fiber, helping them regenerate.

While the satellite cells are multiplying and fusing with the damaged areas, your immune system kicks in with a complex series of reactions that ultimately lead to inflammation meant to contain and repair the damage as well as clean up the area of waste products. This process if key not only to the health of the muscle, but its growth, as numerous hormones and cytokines are released which stimulate muscle hypertrophy. Among these are hormones like insulin-like growth factor (IGF), fibroblast growth factor (FGF) and hepatocyte growth factor (HGF). Growth hormone (GH) is also released, and is key to promoting satellite cell division and the release of IGF.

What is important to understand is that this entire process (microtrauma resulting in the complex interaction of satellite cells, the immune system, growth factors and hormones) is dependent not only on exercise, but also receiving the appropriate amount of rest and nutrition to optimize the healing process. Muscular hypertrophy occurs when the muscle heals itself, not when you are working out. Furthermore, your muscles will only adapt as much as they need to, resulting in a ‘plateau’ effect if you don’t change things up and challenge them in new ways. This is why it is a good idea to switch up your exercise routines like they do in P90X, and always keep your body guessing as to what comes next.

Signs and Symptoms That You May Have a Brain Tumor

In 2012, 13,700 people died from brain or nervous system cancer and there were 22,910 new cases reported – that’s just one year. So many people are impacted by cancer whether as a patient or a relative or friend of a patient; because of this, people are always concerned that they will become one of those statistics.

So what do you need to know?

Let’s start with what a tumor actually is. Basically, tumors are abnormal cells that grow at a faster rate than normal cells. A tumor can be benign (meaning not malignant) or malignant ([muh-lig-nuhnt] meaning cancerous)

There are many different types of brain tumors. First, primary brain tumors are tumors that begin in the brain (not traveling from another part of the body). Any primary tumor refers to the type of tissue where the tumor first appeared. The most common brain tumors are call gliomas (that’s pronounced glahy-oh-muh). A secondary tumor is one in which the cells travel from another area of the body – so a in the brain, a secondary tumor would be cells that traveled into the brain (via blood stream) and burrowed in and started multiplying cells in its new home.

There are a couple types of gliomas:

Astrocytomas (pronounced Ä s’trÅ -sÄ«-tÅ ‘mÉ™)- this is a cluster of star-shaped cells referred to as astrocytes. These can grow anywhere in the brain or spinal cord; but there are general pattern that seems to occur. Astrocytomas are most often found in the brain for adults but in the brain stem in children.

Most people know that cancer has many grades – I, II, III, and IV. Identifying cancer early allows a patient to be treated quickly and more effectively.

Anaplastic astrocytoma: This is a grade III astrocytoma.

Glioblastoma multiforme (pronounced glee-o-blas-TO-ma multih-FOR-may): This is a grade IV astrocytoma.

My brother died from a grade IV, glioblastoma multiforme, when he was 49 years old. We didn’t know the signs that indicated he was in trouble. Obviously, we wish we had. Now I tell people what signs to look for so that they can get treatment in time and not go through the ugliness of dying from a brain tumor.

Check Out These Signs

The most frequent symptoms of brain tumors include:

  • Headaches that tend to be worse in the morning and ease during the day
  • Seizures (convulsions) – what my brother experienced was little spaces of time that he couldn’t account for. For example, while ordering food in a restaurant, he would suddenly stop talking – that was the extent of his seizure for many years until he had a grand mal seizure (that’s the kind of seizure with convulsions).
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Weakness or loss of feeling in the arms or legs
  • Stumbling or lack of coordination in walking (ataxic gait)
  • Abnormal eye movements or changes in vision
  • Drowsiness
  • Changes in personality or memory
  • Changes in speech: My brother lost his ability to speak well; this was because the tumor was in his speech center in his brain. This became one of our biggest clues to his condition.

Don’t overlook any of these signs or symptoms in the people you love. Educating yourself and being observant may just help someone you know get the help they need before it’s too late.

Pancreatic Cancer – Living From Diagnosis to Death – The Diary of a Cancer Patient’s Daughter

One of the hardest things to do in life is to live once you’ve been told you are going to die. It’s as if life speeds up after you receive knowledge that your days are ticking away on a finite clock that you have no control over. One important thing that I learned while experiencing the devastating affects of Pancreatic Cancer with my mother as she fought this distressing disease is that it is crucial to focus on the time that you have rather than on the time you don’t have. To me this article is a condensed version of the Diary of Cancer Patient’s Daughter as I explain what living with Pancreatic Cancer is like from diagnosis to death as I framed the picture of my mother’s experience in my mind.

I hope and pray that you receive something out of these words birthed out of pain that will bring you peace and help you or your loved one with a Cancer diagnosis live a little longer and happier in spite of the sad reality you are facing. There are 7 D’s in this Cancer Diary that can help you manage the physical and mental aspects of this awful disease. Remember that what you don’t do in the Cancer Crisis is just as important as what you do.

Entry # 1: The Diagnosis:

My mother Joyce was 66 years old when she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer during the summer of 2008. Though all Cancer is bad, Pancreatic Cancer is considered one of the worst because it is the most difficult to diagnose. The reason is that the symptoms mirror digestive problems as the disease hides in the depths of the digestive system. My mother had chronic pain in her stomach and though she went to the emergency room several times receiving numerous tests and ultra sounds the doctors kept telling her nothing was wrong with her and sent her home every time. Initially they thought it was a problem with her gal bladder which is a common misdiagnoses in the case of Pancreatic Cancer.

Her Father Boyce whom she was named after died of Pancreatic Cancer 20 years earlier, but the chance that she could have that very same thing never occurred to her or anyone else in our family. If Cancer runs in your family, especially Pancreatic Cancer, I would advise you to have regular screenings for this disease as early diagnosis is a key to survival. One of the most deadly things about Pancreatic Cancer is that because it is so hard to diagnose most patients don’t receive their diagnosis until they are already in Stage 4 of the Cancer when there is practically no hope.

The symptoms of Pancreatic Cancer include: abdominal pain and pressure, jaundice, nausea, loss of appetite, depression, weight loss and weakness. My mother had all symptoms except for jaundice. Just because a person is missing a common symptom doesn’t mean they don’t have Pancreatic Cancer. The most common procedures used to diagnosis this brutal disease are: Ultrasonography, CT Scanning, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancretography, Endoscopic Ultrasound, MRI, and Cholangiogram Percutaneous Transhepatic. I’m pretty sure my mother had all of these tests done and it can be very draining to endure such experiences, however it is vital in obtaining a diagnosis. The results of her diagnosis showed that there was a tumor on her pancreas blocking the flow of bile from her liver, as well as, the flow of enzymes from her pancreas. In her case the tumor was wrapped around a blood vessel and surgery to remove the tumor was not really an option. Very few surgeons in the country would have been able to successfully perform the surgery and her chances of survival would have been slim to none. Even if she had of had the surgery her quality of life following it was questionable. This surgery is commonly known as the Whipple Operation and removes a large part of the pancreas, the duodenum and a portion of the bile duct

What do you do in this situation? You make the choice to live the best life in the time that you have which is undetermined and different for everyone. Suck every drop of joy out of life you can as quickly as possible. If we could turn back the clock and do it all over again the one thing we would do differently is have annual screenings for the disease conducted because had we done that my mother might still be alive today. What you do in time can determine the time you have on this earth.

Many people allow the hands of time to cover their eyes to what they don’t want to see. Open your eyes today and if you have not been diagnosed with this disease begin to use preventative measures such as a healthy diet, exercise, and regular checkups with your doctor.

Entry # 2: Denial:

We were in such disbelief after receiving the diagnosis we failed to take immediate action locked in the paralysis of our new found reality. One thing Cancer does not give you is time. That big devil called denial must be dealt with. I can still hear my mother saying, “I can’t have this…not me!” You must come to grips with what you have in order to get a grip on the situation. Sometimes I think of Cancer being more of an accident of health rather than a mistake of nature. All you can do with a mistake is wish that it never happened but accidents can be prevented. Maybe this is a little optimistic since Cancer tends to creep in like an unexpected thief to steal your most prized possessions. Even so, optimism is always stronger than pessimism and it merely means that our powerful spirits encased in a fragile frame of flesh chooses to live.

Even people with diseases such as drug addiction and alcoholism must come out of denial before they recover. I know Cancer survivors and they are the same people that came out of denial and dealt with the disease. You will never take action in regards to something you don’t believe.

Entry # 3: Drugs:

We live in a pill popping nation where there is a drug for every situation. One of the main problems with drugs is that they mask symptoms but fail to provide a cure. Drugs do their best to cover up the Cancer until the victim is covered with earth in a coffin. I keep hearing rumors that there is a cure for Cancer but the medical and funeral industries are making too much money off of the disease to release the cure. I don’t know if that is true but it sure makes sense.

Though drugs were diagnosed to help my mother one of the first things we did which is extremely important for Pancreatic Cancer patients was to have a stint put in. Stints were inserted into the tubes leading from her liver and pancreas to help them function and this helped her to live a better life. In some cases, depending on the size of the tumor, it is very difficult to insert stints but there are several alternative methods and procedures to accomplish the same effect. If you have a good doctor he will inform you of all options. If you have a doctor that doesn’t tell you all the options; get another doctor.

My experience with a mother with Pancreatic Cancer perfected a hatred in me for Morphine which is the pain medication my mother was put on. Since the pain caused by the Cancer is so intense our options were limited and we wanted my mother to be able to live out her days as pain free as possible as I think anyone would. The Morphine altered her mind, changed her personality, and caused aggression and paranoia. The effects of the Morphine put the family in pain while relieving my mother’s pain.

At times it was as if she was out of her mind and it nearly drove us out of ours. She no longer trusted the people that loved her and many times would forget what she was saying in the middle of a sentence. The family told her many things over and over again and she wouldn’t do them and always forgot what we told her. To me Morphine kills a person before they die. It kills their ability to convey the essence of who they truly are. There are alternatives for pain relief drugs but I don’t know how much better they are since we only dealt with Morphine.

It amazes me how Patrick Swayze filmed a television series with Pancreatic Cancer refusing to take pain medications so he could concentrate on and accomplish his work. I remember hearing him speak about preparing hours in advance of his shoots to be mentally and physically prepared to accomplish every task in pain. I think drugs such as Morphine make a person die faster because it arrests their mind. In the movie the Matrix if you’ve ever seen it, Neo is doing the jump program with Morpheus and falls. When he comes out of it he is bleeding and makes a statement to the fact that he thought it wasn’t real and Morpheus tells him that the mind makes it real and that the body cannot live without the mind. If you are mentally incapacitated, how can you make a conscious decision to fight for your life?

A glimmer of hope came to us while dealing with the madness of the Morphine which is an alternative pain treatment that Cancer patients can receive that deals with injecting alcohol around certain nerves to block the feelings of pain. My mother had this procedure done but said that it didn’t work. To this day I don’t know if the treatment really didn’t work or if by the time she had it she was

already addicted to the Morphine and the pain she felt were the pangs of withdraw.

Unfortunately Morphine was only one wave in the ocean of drugs we had to deal with. There were digestive enzymes that had to be taken prior to eating, beta blockers, heart medication, anxiety medication, insulin for the diabetes caused by the shut down of the pancreas, medication for indigestion, vitamins, blood thinners for blood clots and so many medications we had to make an Excel spreadsheet just to keep track of them.

One of the effects of the disease that had to be dealt with was extreme swelling of the abdomen and feet to the point where diuretics were prescribed, fluid draw procedures had to be performed by using a needle to draw the fluid from the abdomen and as for the feet; only house shoes could be worn. I found out that the swelling was caused by the Cancer mainly due to the body’s reaction to the tumor and to the lack of protein in the blood disabling the bloods ability to hold fluid.

The things that a person goes through with Cancer are almost endless. Every part of the body is affected; especially the mind, the will, and the emotions. Based upon the experience I encountered with my mother a couple of other crises we had to press through was the C Diph infection causing chronic diarrhea causing contact isolation that is almost like quarantine to be implemented. My mother could barely eat and we had to put on hospital gowns and gloves to be in the room with her or even come in contact with her.

An episode we faced with internal bleeding caused by the rupturing of blood vessels was very traumatic and hospitalized my mother after she passed out from weakness with her eyes rolling back in her head due to the extreme blood loss. Blood was in her bowels and blood transfusions had to be issued in order to get her blood count back up to normal which is usually 14 and hers was almost half that. Had we not sought medical attention for her at that time she could have died. So that you can recognize this, the symptoms are usually extreme weakness and black loose bowels. I experienced the same thing when I was four years old and diagnosed with acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis.

We tried chemotherapy which is extremely hard on the body, killing the good cells along with the bad. Chemotherapy is like infusing your body with a poison in order to get rid of another poison. For some people it works but sadly to say in the cases of Pancreatic Cancer it is rarely effective. I am not a doctor and therefore give no medical recommendations as to how to treat Cancer of the Pancreas but in my own personal opinion and experience through observation I would say if possible, find a better way.

There are alternative treatments, natural remedies, and experimental treatments. A Cancer patient can seek studies that are being conducted for the type of Cancer they have and in many cases when they become a part of the study they can receive free or very low cost experimental treatments. One day one of these experimental treatments might be the answer. My mother used an experimental chemotherapy that was available but it was too hard on her heart. One of her smaller tumors did disappear but that wasn’t enough to save her.

Chemotherapy can carry such side effects as nausea, vomiting, and decreased white blood cell counts. Historically, Chemotherapy has not been effective in the treatment of Pancreatic Cancer, but there are more up to date treatments that use an FDA approved agent called gemcitabine which has helped to shrink some tumors for Carcinoma of the pancreas.

At one point we went to see a naturalpathic doctor specializing in alternative Cancer treatments that knew of a treatment that had proved to be effective for Pancreatic Cancer. The name of the treatment is Intravenous – Lipoic Acid/Low-Dose Naltrexone Protocol. There are various articles and information on this treatment for you to research and intelligently consider.

Our problem with the treatment was that one of the drugs prescribed for it that could only be filled at a compound pharmacy blocks the affects of opiates and since my mother was on Morphine for pain a known opiate she plunged into a chronic pain episode that caused her to lose coherency from the pain and go to the emergency room where the only thing they could do to relieve her pain was to give her a drug strong enough to sedate her and completely knock her out. It was a tremendous setback in her treatment. The opiate blocking drug was supposed to be a very low dosage that should not have negatively affected her so if this particular treatment is chosen I would do extensive research and make ample preparations before trying it.

When you are personally dealing with Cancer or know someone close to you that is, you will find out quickly that everyone has a product to sell you that they claim has cured someone from Cancer. Maybe they have and maybe they haven’t. Again, I remember watching an interview with Barbara Walters and Patrick Swayze when he said something to the effect of, “If you had a miracle cure for Cancer you would be rich and everyone would know you so just shut up.” We tried several products and ordered everything we thought could make a difference or be a cure. I’m going to share with you two things that you can buy on your own that we didn’t get a chance to try because we found out about them too late. I don’t know it they work, but its worth a try as anything is when you or someone you love is dying.

You can search YouTube and find videos on the banking soda Cancer treatment and you can search the Internet to find articles that specifically discuss the use of asparagus to treat Cancer. There is so much more I could say about different treatments and drugs but instead of going on and on about this subject I will instead give you a few helpful hints.

Helpful Hint #1: If you are strong enough to do it, aerobic exercise helps Chemotherapy patients by ridding the toxins in their system from Chemotherapy through sweat. I read an article once about a lady with Cancer that felt too sick to do aerobics when her coworkers kept inviting her to class because they didn’t know she had Cancer. She started the classes eventually and felt sick at first and then started feeling better. She sweated the toxins out and one year later was teaching the class Cancer Free.

Helpful Hint #2: When a Cancer patient’s veins are to the point where it is extremely difficult to draw blood or administer IV medication a Central Line which is a port for IV and medication inserted into the jugular vein by ultrasound can be good. I witnessed the pain of my mother as she was poked multiple times with attempts to draw blood and insert IV’s. Save yourself this pain with a Central Line.

Helpful Hint #3: Keep a positive attitude and laugh as often as possible. The Bible says that laughter doeth the heart good like a medicine. Sometimes simple laughter will do more for a Cancer patient than any drug. Laughter heals and it makes a person’s time on this earth more enjoyable. Talk about funny memories from the past with family and friends and laugh, laugh, laugh! You deserve it! Mental support is important. Encourage, speak positive things, and most of all be there for the person that you know that has Cancer. Cancer and all the things a person goes through with it are scary. I coached my mom and encouraged her and told her she could make it when she didn’t think she could. Encouragement in love can add time to a Cancer patient’s life. Ask lots of questions and gain as much knowledge as possible. If a drug or treatment you or a Cancer patient you know is on doesn’t seem right; talk to the doctor about it because there is always an alternative.

Entry # 4: Disappointment:

Normally in life there are disappointments. When you already have a disappointing disease, disappointment can be magnified. What do you do when the Chemo doesn’t work? How do you react when the miracle cure you found out about doesn’t cure? How do you deal with setbacks that surface along the way? What you do is keep going, keep trying, and don’t give up. It is important to express disappointment and acknowledge it as long as it doesn’t take you captive. Just having the disease is disappointing, not to mention all of the obstacles encountered while dealing with the disease. Disappointment is not only experienced by the Cancer victim but by the family and friends that love that person so much.

I was working on my MBA when my mother was diagnosed with Cancer. Since she was already in Stage 4 of Cancer when she was diagnosed we found out shortly after the diagnosis that the Cancer had spread to her lungs and other areas of her body. I can remember the day I found out about that. I started crying at work and couldn’t stop and had to leave the office. I know what it feels like to try and hold tears in and there is nothing you can do to keep them held in your eyes. I know what it is to cry until your stomach jerks in and out and snot comes out of your nose and you feel like throwing up. My mother was my best friend and because of that I am well acquainted with disappointment.

I always wondered how the people with these miracle stories that publish these books about overcoming Cancer did it. Their methods worked for them with no doubt but my mother was in such a bad state she couldn’t even do most of the things these books said to do and that was so disappointing. I wished I could speak with these people personally just to ask them…HOW? How did you do it?

One of the greatest challenges faced was that my mother was a Minister and Pastor and she had a lot of people praying for her as she even believed for her own healing. Father Yah (God) is a healer but He doesn’t always heal and there is always a question of why for those that are not healed. Dottie Olsteen the wife of the late Pastor John Olsteen of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas now pastured by Joel Olsteen at one time had terminal Liver Cancer. Dottie gathered together the healing scriptures from the Bible and began to speak them over herself three times a day like a medicine prescription and was totally and completely healed.

Why her and not my mother? I don’t know. Maybe Yah (the name for almighty God the Creator in Hebrew) was ready for my mom to come home with Him. All I can tell you is that disappoint can and will come in many forms. The best cure for disappointment is to overcome with an attitude of thankfulness, accepting that you don’t know the reason for all things but you do know that there is a reason and a purpose for all things. Stay positive while keeping your mind and spirit open to whatever might happen. Disappointment comes when something other than what you expect or anticipate happens. With Cancer you have to be prepared for the success or failure of anything and everything. Be encouraged; you are stronger than disappointment. Don’t let it catch you off guard but be prepared for it. Know that for every disappointment there is a triumph on the other side.

Entry # 5: Diet:

Anyone with Cancer should reconstruct their diet to contain the foods that fight against and can even cure Cancer. Eat and drink substances that are non-acidic, alkaline, and highly concentrated with antioxidants. Research to find Cancer healing foods.

One of the most important things to do is to drink a lot of water. Water is the source of life and the human body is mostly composed of water. There is an author that wrote a book called, “You Aren’t Sick You’re Just Thirsty” talking about the importance of water and its affects on the body.

Diet is a rough subject with Pancreatic Cancer because you can know all the right things to eat and not be able to consume them. The affects of the disease on the digestive system makes it very hard to eat and drink. The patient may lose their appetite and even if they do have an appetite, once they eat it can make them feel sick. Pancreatic Cancer sabotages the digestive system.

One thing that helped us was some information we found on dill pickles that assists in the digestion of food. In many instances when someone with Pancreatic Cancer or other digestive problems eats a dill pickle with each meal it helps to counteract the digestive problems so they can eat in comfort and keep the food down for nutrition to the body.

There are also drugs available to enhance the appetite, but if dill pickles can also be eaten with every meal that should help greatly as well. Since Pancreatic Cancer patients have difficulties in eating and tend to lose a lot of weight, dietary supplements such as protein shakes are suggested which are ingested easier with the use of a straw. Peanut butter can be added to the shakes to increase the calorie content and nutritional value of the shake. Another suggestion is to eat very small meals all throughout the day. The Cancer patient may not feel like eating but in order to live they must FORCE themselves to eat. Lack of food and liquid can kill quicker.

Vitamin D fights Cancer and freshly juiced vegetable juices containing the juice from green leafy vegetables can be extremely helpful especially when drank right after juicing when vitamin content and living substance is at a high level. The external diet is also important which consists of Epson salt baths that help to heal and release toxins from the body.

We all know the saying, “You are what you eat.” Eat what is alive and it will help you stay alive. The first 3 letters of the word diet is the word die. Don’t let what you are eating kill you. Since Cancer patients many times have to give up foods they love in order to live, it is great if the family can conform to their diet in support of their dietary efforts. Some foods make Cancer grow like simple sugars. Cut the sugar out of your diet and use a natural alternative like Stevia to sweeten foods. Stevia is a naturally sweet leaf that is available in powder and liquid form to sweeten foods and use in recipes. I am a big Bible reader so I love that Stevia is a leaf because the Bible says that the leaves shall be used for the healing of the nations. Other well-known artificial sweeteners can actually be poisonous to the body so be careful with them and avoid them if possible.

Entry #6: Death:

Even when you know someone is going to die, nothing really prepares you for the affects, effects, and real life reactions to that death. Everyone’s experience is different, and I will share my personal experience with you hoping it will help you in some way. I can remember my mom looking at me one night and saying to me, “I’m dying!” I didn’t know what to say back because even though I knew she had Cancer and death seemed inevitable, I refused to accept the fact the she was actually going to die.

We took her to the hospital on a Thursday and the very next day they wanted to send her to hospice. Hospice is a great and awful place all at the same time. Great due to the care and support and painless exit for the patient from this world they provide. Awful because you know that it is the last place you will be with the one you love. Hospice facilities are very comfortable and they give you a chance to say goodbye even if you don’t want to. No one does. Please know that you aren’t the only one going through this; neither are you the only one that has ever gone through this.

Counselors are provided, as well as, chaplains for spiritual support and prayer. You will receive a booklet explaining the death process which helps you know when death is near. During this process, give the Cancer patient a lot of love, comfort and support, and make sure you yourself get ample food and rest. Speak to your loved one while they are responsive and even after they are in a drug induced comma because they can still hear you. Be sure not to be selfish and release them to pass on so they won’t linger on in suffering. That is all I will say about the hospice experience as you will learn more as you are actually in it. This is the time to meet with the funeral home and make preparations for the funeral and burial. You won’t want to do this, but it is necessary and will help smooth out the process. Overall, hospice is a place to say your final goodbyes.

Entry # 7: Debt:

My dad only had enough life insurance to cover my mom’s funeral, and this is not recommended. The moment a Cancer diagnosis is in place get as much checkup free insurance as you can get. For some reason the bill collectors don’t understand the word death, and you can be stuck with bills that increase your sorrow after your loved one is gone. You will need a living will for your patient to be able to make medical decisions for them and you also need a power of attorney to deal with their accounts way before a death experience is upon you. You may have to handle business matters that they can’t deal with while they are still alive and after they have passed on.Also make sure a will is in place so you don’t have to deal with probate. Some accounts are easily closed after death simply by submitting a copy of the death certificate to the creditor and it is important to see if insurance is in place to pay off accounts upon death such as mortgages.

I have shared my heart, soul, and intimate personal experience with you in this article to the best of my ability. It should not take a crisis such as Cancer for us to become mortgage and debt free but if something such as Cancer arises I know that being mortgage and debt free can be one less worry. Work to reduce or delete your debts as much as possible. My dad would have more freedom and options today had his house been paid off when my mother passed. In addition to medical bills there were some prescriptions that cost $800 for a 10-day supply after our prescription benefits ran out. Death and sickness know nothing of the extra financial burdens that can increase and extend sorrow.

You will feel the pain of your loss for awhile and it will be absolutely unbelievable for a very long time, but you will get through it. Remember the good times, look at pictures of life, and hear the voice of your loved one live on in your mind and spirit forever. I wish you abundant peace. If you would like to find out how to get a copy of the book I’ve written in hopes of helping people deal with the loss of a loved one, please call or email me.

Significations Of Planets

As the universe is sustained by the moon, the sun and the wind through their processes of rejection, attraction and circulation, so do the Kapha, Pitta and Vaata sustain the body.

Just as different signs of the Zodiac and different Nakshatras rule over various part of the body, the various planets are also related to different body parts, besides they indicate certain illnesses in conformity with their inherent nature. Thus it is only after a thorough consideration of the houses, signs nakshatras and planets involved, along with the dashas operating at a particular time, that is becomes possible to diagnose the nature and location of diseases in the body, as also its time of on set and final outcome.

The significations of various planets as appropriate to medical astrology are being briefly outlined here. The list of significations is in no way complete and there are areas where there our knowledge is absolutely negligible. As it is a beginning has to be made some where, and that is precisely what is being done here. The planetary significations mentioned here under are primarily based on two classical works (1)The Phaladeepika, a classic on predictive astrology written by Mantreswara; and (2)The Prashna Marga, a celebrated work of Kerala which is primarily meant for horary astrology but its principles find abundant utility in natal astrology.

Get Rid Of Keratosis Pilaris in 3 Steps

After doing a lot of research and asking other KP sufferers what they do to get rid of their keratosis pilaris, I have come up with the 3 Steps below. These are the most popular and effective recommendations and I really hope they are of some benefit to you. In each step I’ve listed two options, you can do either option or try both, it’s up to you. So let’s get on and I wish you all the best for a KP-free life very soon!

STEP 1

Exfoliate:

a) Sugar scrub – Most KP sufferers have tried this tip already but if you haven’t then have a go and see if your KP improves. You can buy ready-made sugar scrubs at stores but if you want to make it home it’s really simple – take 1 part sugar and mix it with olive oil (or melted virgin coconut oil) in a container until it reaches a consistency you like. Some people like to add orange zest to give it a nice fragrance or others like to add honey for its healing properties. Use it after your skin has been soaking in the shower for a few minutes.

Extra Tip: After gently scrubbing your skin with the sugar scrub, rinse it off and then use something to properly scrape the oil off your skin. I use the plastic scrape thing that comes with hair removal cream but you can use a tongue scraper or an old credit card. The reason why I recommend scraping the oil off is because all your dead skin is stuck to your skin with the oil and if you didn’t scrape it off you would be carrying it around on your body for the rest of the day. Eeew! So scrape it off and wash it down the drain. You can use a natural/organic soap to wash yourself with afterwards. Do this 2/3 times a week.

OR

b) Dry skin scrub: Grab a hard loofah, not a soft squidgy exfoliator and DRY exfoliate your skin. Do this before you get in the shower. Scrub your skin gently in a circular motion and watch the dry dead skin just fly off… this is good for getting out in-growing hairs too. After dry scrubbing your skin, get in the shower and use your natural/organic soap to wash away the dead skin. Do this 2/3 times week.

STEP 2

Moisturise:

a) Virgin Coconut Oil – this oil can be bought from the cooking section in the supermarket or health food/whole food stores. Countless KP sufferers have recommended using this after getting out of the shower. Grab a glob of it and massaging all over your skin. Some people like to use it again before getting into bed. Remember to get the Virgin form which is solid at room temperature. When it touches your skin it will melt due to your body temperature.

OR

b) Your favourite moisturiser – any cream or lotion that is made for dry skin. Words to look out for are things like ‘intensive repair’, ‘enriched’, ‘hydrating’ and ‘deep moisture’. Good ones to try are CeraVe Moisturizing Cream and AmLactin XL Lotion. These have had some good reviews with KP sufferers.

STEP 3

Diet

a) Add essential fatty acids (EFAs) to you diet such as Omega-3 (Linolenic Acid), Omega-6 (Linoleic Acid) and Omega-9 (Oleic Acid). These essential fatty acids cannot be produced by the body (apart from Omega-9) so you need to add them to your diet. A limited amount of Omega-9 can be produced by the body provided the other EFAs are present.

Good food sources are: nuts, soybean, canola oil, walnut oil, flaxseed oil and fish (especially cold water fish such as salmon, bluefish, herring, tuna, cod, flounder, mackerel and shrimp). Good omega supplements are: flaxseed oil (1 tablespoon per day) or fish oil capsules.

b) Drink raw Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) – ok, sounds gross but ACV is amazing for your skin, is a great detoxifier and has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.

Mix 2 teaspoons of ACV with a glass of water and drink. You can add teaspoon of honey if you can’t take the taste!

(Extra Tip – try putting some ACV on cotton wool and dab on your KP and blemishes at night before bed. It helps to get rid of blemishes. DO NOT PUT ON BROKEN SKIN OR ON SKIN THAT YOU’VE BEEN PICKING – IT WILL BURN!)

Remember – if you try these tips please don’t give up after a week. I know you want to be KP-free ASAP and want to see immediate results but to really get rid of keratosis pilaris you will need to be patient and persistent. Keep trying the things recommended and you WILL find something that works for you. You can do it!

COPD Stages

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or COPD kills countless people in the United States every year and it has no cure. Caused mainly by smoking, the early identification of this disease helps is crucial in controlling the symptoms. Also, the medicine prescribed for the disease largely depends on the stage the disease is in.

In the initial stage of the COPD, any obvious symptoms may not be visible in the patient’s body. However, the patient may experience symptoms such as cough or excessive sputum. Often, the patient experiences minimal shortness of breath. If detected in the early stages, COPD can largely be controlled by immediately stopping the consumption of tobacco. This stage is called stage 0. This stage is considered as the “Risk Stage”

In stage 1, the patient may experience severe breathlessness on a regular basis. But, it will not affect his daily life, as the periods of breathlessness are short lived. This is considered to be a mild stage. In this stage, the lung function of the patient is equal to or better than 50% of the lungs function of a healthy adult of the same age. Here, functions of the lungs are tested with a spirometer. Mild COPD can be treated with short acting inhaled beta-agonists.

In stage 2, the performance of the lungs drops down to 30% to 40%. This is the stage where the disease actually starts affecting daily life as the periods of breathlessness are more frequent and continue for long durations. This stage is considered to be a ‘moderate’ stage and can be treated with one or more bronchodilators or inhaled anticholinergics.

In stage 3, the performing level of the affected lungs drops below an alarming 35%. As the intensity of the disease increases, the quality of life decreases rapidly. The patient is now affected more and more by severe breathlessness. This stage is considered to be severe. In many cases, it can be life threatening. Severe COPD can be treated with one or more bronchodilators, inhaled glucocorticosteroids, and inhaled anticholinergics.

The earlier the symptoms of COPD are detected, the better it is for the patient. Although COPD cannot be completely cured, it can certainly be controlled well, if detected. The best advice to avoid the probability of COPD is — Don’t Smoke!

Cataract Surgery: Advantages and Disadvantages

Are you suffering from cataract in one or both eyes? Is the cloudiness of the eye’s natural lens is robbing you of your vision and quality of life? You no longer need to live with the vision impairment due to cataracts, thanks to cataract surgery.

Anyone thinking about undergoing Cataract surgery should first understand what is cataract.

The simplest definition for cataract is that it is a clouding of the natural lens, also called crystalline lens, in the eye that affects your daily activities and your ability to drive or read, and eventually leads to vision loss.

The only permanent way to repair a cataract is to have a cataract surgery. People with blurred or misty vision decide to have cataract surgery when the cloudiness in the eye’s natural lens gets bad enough where the vision cannot be improved with glasses or contact lens.

The surgical removal of cataract is also recommended to prevent other progressive eye disease s, such as diabetic retinopathy- a leading cause of blindness; and macular degeneration- deterioration of the center of the retina which leads to loss of central vision.

Cataract surgery, medically known as phacoemulsification, is performed with minimal sedation and typically takes around 20 minutes.

With the use of an operating microscope, the surgeon makes a very small incision about 3mm wide in the surface of the eye in or near the cornea. The clouded lens is then painlessly dissolved (phacoemulsify) using a fine needle that emits ultrasound waves. After the tiny fragmented pieces are sucked out, a folded artificial lens made from plastic or silicon is placed into the thin capsular bag. This artificial lens unfolds naturally in the eye.

Advantages

Cataract surgery is very simple and almost painless.

It is generally the safest and effective way to restore vision with no serious complications.

After having the surgery, you will be allowed to return home the same day.

One of the biggest advantages of having cataract surgery is undoubtedly the dramatic improvement in the quality of vision.

It helps you get rid of blurry vision and have a better and clearer vision.

The surgery has little or no risks. The percentage of risk associated with the surgical removal of the cataract film from the lens is less than 10%.

Following the surgery, your surgeon keeps you under observation for a couple of hours before marking you to be cleared for discharge.

The recovery time for a cataract surgery is very short. The tiny incision size allows the eye to recover faster.

With greater vision, you can walk, climb stairs, drive car and do household chores more actively.

Disadvantages

Like any other surgery, unexpected complications can occur during, or after, cataract surgery, albeit on rare occasions. The possible complications include:

Similar to any other major operation, the surgery may lead to blood loss

Abnormal reaction to the anaesthetic such as stickiness or itchiness of the eye is possible

Eye infection is also a possibility

Tearing of the lens capsule during surgery, causing reduced vision

Cataract fragments being left inside, requiring a second operation

Possibility of dislocation of the implant and damage to the retina

Inflammation, soreness, irritation, double sight can also occur after he surgery, albeit in very rare cases.

The biggest disadvantage of cataract surgery is that it is very pricey and that not all cataract patients may easily afford to get it done.

Hip Replacement Exercises – Pre & Post Surgery Hip Exercises

A diagnosis of osteoarthritis of the hip generally progresses to the likelihood of requiring a hip replacement in the near future. As the degenerative condition advances, it causes a decreased range of motion, pain, muscle weakness, gait changes, and tight muscles. Specific exercises designed for hip arthritis can help maintain range of motion at your joint, prevent loss of muscle, stretch muscles that will become tight, and lubricate the joint to decrease stiffness and pain. In addition, performing exercises prior to surgery will speed up your recovery post operation.

Goals of a Hip Arthritis Exercise Program – Pre Operation:

There are two main goals to target with a pre operation hip arthritis exercise program. One is strength of the gluteal muscles and the other is to maintain range of motion by working within your pain free range. There are exercises that work both of these goals simultaneously. The gluteal muscles are extremely important to strengthen pre operation because they comprise the stability of the joint. Ironically, arthritis causes pain, decreased range of motion, and therefore less weight bearing which all contribute to atrophy, or shrinking, of the gluteal muscles. Therefore, it is paramount to actively engage in specific strength exercises that target these muscles. Although strength and range of motion are highlighted as the priorities here, cardiovascular or aerobic conditioning is also extremely important. Usually due to pain and decreased range of motion, both walking and overall activity are reduced drastically which negatively lowers an individual’s aerobic capacity. Using stationary bikes or participating in water classes are excellent non weight bearing options to keep your cardiovascular conditioning strong.

Hip Exercises Post Surgery

There are a series of exercises your physiotherapist will guide you through immediately post operation. They will guide you through an exercise program that will be safe with the goal of returning you to full function in daily activities. This program will last up to 6 to 8 weeks post operation. A lot of patients stop the exercises once they are discharged or released from the supervision of their physiotherapy. It is imperative that you continue hip strengthening exercises in a progressive format for at least one year post operation. Patients that have continued with an exercise program consistently for a full year post operation, receive amazing results in functional ability.

Goals of Hip Arthritis Exercise Program – Post Operation:

Follow the exercise program guidelines given to you by your physiotherapist for the first 6 to 8 weeks post operation. The post operation exercise program varies from the pre operation program on three aspects which include the following: range of motion stretches have to be modified to follow restrictions that protect your joint from dislocation, strength exercises will progress to weight bearing, and one leg balance exercises along with gait retraining become a priority. Post surgery, the goal of your exercise program should be to progressively advance your strength exercises, when your body is ready, from isolated muscular endurance exercises to dynamic, functional exercises. Again, the most important muscles to strengthen post operation are your gluteals. Your exercise program should also include quadricep strengthening and core stability exercises. When you are selecting exercises, it is highly advised to select unilateral or one limb exercises in order to make the strength equal across limbs.

The journey your muscles have endured from the pre surgery pain through the operation leaves them tight and contracted in a shortened position. Therefore, stretching is equally important to include in your post operation exercise program. Often the hip flexors, hamstrings, and quadriceps will be tight post operation and need to be stretched. The very exciting aspect of the post operation exercise program is that you are pain free and therefore can gradually increase your cardiovascular training time and intensity to your pre arthritic conditioned level.

When you are disciplined at consistently keeping up with your exercises and gradually progress through incremental stages of exercises, you will notice huge improvements in your cardiovascular, strength, flexibility, balance, gait, and overall functional ability. The importance of engaging in a regular, consistent exercise program both pre and post hip operation will impact your full recovery greatly. A hip exercise program is the best single action you can take to encourage a highly successful return to function post surgery.

Dealing With Water Problems Around the House

With the amount of pipes running through the house, there are bound to be times when things go wrong within the plumbing system. Here are a few problems that you may come across in the future and solutions on how to fix them. Remember that if the problem looks too big for you to fix, then it is likely to be true. In these circumstances you need to find a local professional plumber or central heating engineer to have a look at the problem for you.

A tap which drips when closed needs a new washer. To change the washer, the first thing you need to do is stop the water system and leave the tap open. With a capstan head tap unscrew the shield below the handle and pull off the head of the tap. Use a spanner to undo the hexagonal nut which is revealed and lift out the top half of the tap. At the base of this assembly you will find a washer secured with a small nut. Remove this nut and fit a replacement rubber or nylon washer of the same diameter. Reassemble the tap and then restore the water supply.

It is normal for pipes carrying hot water to creak or knock occasionally as they expand when the pipes start to warm up. If you have a pipe that makes an excessive amount of noise you can use plastic foam around the problem area if you are able to locate it. The presence of scale in the pipes is a common cause of noisy pipes in hard water areas. A loud banging and vibration in the pipes is a water hammer, caused by the flow of water being shut off too quickly. The culprit is a worn washer or a faulty gland unit in a tap or an unsuitable ball valve in the water tank.

There are several possible causes to leaking pipes within the home. A hole caused by a nail being driven into the pipe or a fracture due to corrosion or freezing. Immediate action is necessary to prevent damage to carpets, wall coverings, etc. Stop water to the system and dry the affected pipe area. For a small hole, drive in the point of a pencil and then break it off. Tightly bind the area with a waterproof tape. If the trouble is a split rather than a hole, bind the fracture with waterproof tape. If the split is large, spread an epoxy glue over and around the fracture before binding with tape. After carrying out the temporary repair, restore the water supply and calla plumber to replace the pipe section.

Sometimes the actual water tank becomes noisy. This is a problem with old fashioned water tanks and you should replace the present ball valve with a modern one. Older water tanks can rust over time and start to leak. You need to check for rust or damage to the tank at least once a year. This is especially important if the tank is stored in the loft. A burst water tank could cause a huge amount of damage the ceiling and could even cause injury to a family member.

Best Beginner Snowboard

Is it possible to determine what is the best beginner snowboard? Yes, it is actually very easy. There are several qualities that beginners snowboards should have. If you are just starting out and don’t know what qualities to look for in a board here are some tips.

Soft Flex Snowboard: A board that is easy to flex will make learning how to turn that much easier. It is not a guarantee for making turns but it will come a lot easier. Boards that are really firm are a lot less forgiving and although once you learn to snowboard they aren’t hard to turn, as someone just starting out they will take a lot more effort. A softer flexed board will “give” more which will help you get a better feel for how the board works. If shopping for a board at a local store tell the shop crew that your looking for a flexible snowboard. If shopping at an online snowboarding store read the reviews or product descriptions and they should tell you whether the board is flexible or not. They often give a torsional (side to side) flex rating and a longitudinal (tip to tail) flex rating. The higher the number the more flexible the board is.

Shorter Sized Snowboard: People ride all different length boards. One person might have several different length boards at their house, one for every occasion. How do you measure a board to find out if it’s the right size? Boards are measured by setting them on their tail and seeing where the tip comes to on your body. The biggest determining factor of board size is your weight. Think about it, a snowboard doesn’t know how tall you are, they only react to how much you weight. So considered your weight because if your a heavier person than you should get a slightly longer board, maybe one that measures above your chin. If you are an average to lighter weight person the best snowboards for beginners measure in-between the   collar   bone  and chin. The reason why you want a shorter sized board is because having so much board to turn will only make turning that much harder.

Deeper Side Cut Snowboard: The side cut of a snowboard is the part above the edges and below the deck of the board. This small in-between area plays a big role in the performance of a board. A deeper side cut allows the board to make faster and easier turns. Instead of making longer sweeping turns, turns will be shorter.

As you can probably tell by now the best beginner snowboard comes down to how easy it is to turn. Seeing that the basic principle of snowboarding is to make turns it is pretty important to make learning how to turn as easy as possible. I hope this information has been helpful. Good Luck and Have Fun!!

Hand Arthritis – Different Treatments

Hand arthritis is the most common form of arthritis that mainly affects the fingers. As in most forms of arthritis the joints become inflamed resulting in pain. Essentially, a joint is made up of two bones that are covered by cartilage and are conjoined together moving smoothly across each other. If this smooth surface becomes damaged or wears out over time, arthritis will result

Hand arthritis is specifically painful and debilitating due to the fact that hands have nineteen bones and eight small bones that has several small joints. The more common forms of hand arthritis include osteoarthritis, post-traumatic arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Further causes of hand arthritis might include psoriasis, gout and infection.

Hand osteoarthritis is caused by wear and tear on the hand joints over time resulting in inflammation and pain. Normally it is a result of this wear and tear, however it can also be the result of a specific hand injury. Hand osteoarthritis arthritis generally develops either along the bottom of the thumb, the wrist, the end joint that is closest to the tip of the finger and the middle joint of the finger.

The most common symptoms of hand arthritis are pain, swelling and reduced movement resulting in diminished grip and pinch strength. The doctor or physician will also examine all other joints to help aid the diagnosis of hand arthritis. The doctor can also determine the severity of the hand arthritis by observing the clinical appearance of the hand. Further to this X-rays will be utilized to further identify the severity of hand arthritis by seeking potential bony outgrowths.

There are various treatments and forms of reducing the pain of hand arthritis. Analgesic and Anti-inflammatory medications will normally be the first treatment utilized for hand arthritis. Resting the hand is also crucial in terms of re-habilitating the area- a hand or wrist support may be required to aid this re-habilitation.

Physical therapy for hand arthritis has also proven to be very effective as a treatment option. There are specific exercises, which can help in loosening the stiffened joints caused by the hand arthritis. Steroids can also be injected locally into the affected area, however this is only a form of pain relief, and certainly not a long-term treatment option for hand arthritis.

Surgery is most certainly the last resort as a treatment option for hand arthritis. The doctor or physician will seriously evaluate the patient’s health, age, weight and risks of complications before recommending hand surgery as a viable treatment option for hand arthritis.

Hand arthritis can be an extremely debilitating condition, however with proper diagnosis by your doctor or physician the symptoms can be effectively managed and rehabilitation can take place. Like most forms of arthritis early diagnosis is the key to aiding recovery in hand arthritis.

Treatment For Eye Wrinkles

It’s all very well for us to comment about the way Granny’s eye wrinkles lined when she smiled that kind smile she had, but did you ask her about how she reacted when those first wrinkles appeared? It is a fact, the skin does wrinkle to a certain extent the older we grow, but due to the great strain of daily lining, premature eye wrinkles are a factor we have to deal with, and we have to discover a way to counter these enemies that attack the delicate tissues surrounding the eyes first.

The root cause

What creates eye wrinkles to begin before any other kind of wrinkles? To begin with, the tissue around our eyelids is, as already mentioned the most vulnerable to harm from external things such as the sun. Skin naturally ages, particularly owing to the fact that muscle that lies underneath, called orbicularis oculi, puts pressure on the eyelid into sections every time it contracts. As we age and collagen decreases, these folds become furrowed. Also, sun damage, which is most visible on our faces, also adds to the creating of eye wrinkles.

Tried Botox on your wrinkles yet?

Botox has become so popular that it has to be mentioned. It is the miracle drug from Allergan that has flattened out so many creases. The basic effect of Botox is to block intra-muscular transmission and causes a   paralysis  and sagging of the muscles. As it is injected, one picks the location for action, and effectively smooth out wrinkles.

There are other ways too…

Increasingly, many people are turning to laser therapy to eliminate eye wrinkles. This involves a process known as fractional laser resurfacing, a process that dissolves the molecular links of a material with a laser. As well as wrinkles, fractional laser surfacing can also be employed to eliminate other effects of sun damage, scars, stretch marks, actinic keratosis and or ‘spider veins’. These days, new techniques like Erbium laser resurfacing can hasten recovery in just a week, whereas earlier CO2 laser resurfacing usually took almost a month to heal.

Surgery, the last resort

We saved this for last because surgery is only a choice when everything else has not worked, which is not likely, wouldn’t you say? Besides, the cosmetic surgery technique called Blepharoplasty does not exactly eliminate eye wrinkles. What it does do is to remove the ugly pouches and dark circles underneath the eyes. And this is not the same thing. Assuming that you want to get rid of eye wrinkles, you should look at options such as Botox and laser therapy.

Check it if you can

As with most of our physical problems, eye wrinkles are better off prevented than cured. Therefore, you would be wise to invest in a good-quality sun block that offers protection against UV rays, sunglasses, and a hat depending on where you are. You can get many anti aging products at drug stores, but they may promise more than they deliver. Needless to add, before you take any kind of medical/surgical step, be sure to consult a professional.

Anatomy of Rectus Abdominis (What Is Abs Muscle)

People spend a lot of time in the gym working their bodies out just to achieve that perfect washboard abs. But do they really know what the abdomen is?

The rectus abdominis

The Rectus abdominis or the abdominal muscles are the two pairs of muscles that line the frontal wall of the abdomen. These muscles are separated in the middle by a lone of tissue called linea alba which starts from the pubic bone up to the lower rib cage cartilage.

These abdominal muscles are contained in what is called the rectus sheath, which are layers of tendons, which serve as a protection. This rectus is divided horizontally by three fibrous bands called the tendinous inscriptions that are placed by the fifth, sixth and the seventh rib.

These bands are responsible for the “six-pack” shape of perfect abs. However, there are rare cases when the person has four tendinous inscriptions. In this case, he or she develops the “eight-pack” instead of the six. And there are also extreme conditions where in it creates the “ten-pack” shape.

Why is it important?

The perfect abs is more than just for show off as it is an important muscle because it serves as a protection for the internal organs located by the abdominal region. A strong rectus abdominis prevents the development of hernia, a condition where in the abdominal wall weakens causing the organs to protrude due to lack of support. It also keeps the organs intact in cases when you do heavy lifting, childbirth, and even defecation.

Your perfect abs also helps in maintaining a proper upright posture. It supports your upper torso from bending or toppling forward. It is also responsible for the flex in your spine as it happens every time you do the crunches or the contraction of your abdomen. It also allows you to tilt you pelvis forward to straighten your back.

Likewise, the rectus abdominis is responsible for your proper breathing. It helps stabilize the respiration process in times that you feel some difficulty in breathing.

How to keep it fit and firm?

Getting perfect abs is not easy. You will need a whole lot of patience for you will not gain it overnight. There are specialized programs that target the abdominal area that are easy to follow and can be included in your daily routine such as bicycle exercises, crunches and knee ups.

However, you must remember that fat in this area the most difficult to burn so you have to do cardiovascular training too in order to shed that fat. It will be good to have a great diet program as well. This ensures that you regulate your food intake so you can count up the calories that you need to burn.

In some cases, however, people choose to go under the knife in order to get perfect abs. There are procedures such as liposuction and abdominal sculpting that cosmetic clinics offer. But you have to remember that the natural way is always the best way to keep your abs in shape.

Military Materials Testing in Military Industry

In military industry, is crucial test the vehicles under dynamic parameters through movement on the ground and water, for example. High temperature testing is essential: Low and excessive temperature vehicle testing for vehicles and other types of equipment.

These low and elevated temperature tests include cold starts of vehicles or other types of equipment with internal-combustion engines; efficiency of heating and air-conditioning devices; vehicle resistance to low and high temperatures; and insulation properties of isothermal body structures.

In contemporary history, a major interest for armed forces vehicle seating suppliers has been the seat s performance in the event of a mine Explosion. Many soldiers have been brutally injured or Dead in this scenario, and military design engineers are working to prevent these tragedies by equipping their vehicles with seats able of preventing spinal or brain injury under these attacks.

So, develop of these equipment is a priority in many countries of the globe, for the reason that mine attacks are the most habitual type of attack in the great war confrontations today: Iraq, Afghanistan..

The armor: Here is another component of the military vehicle. While various systems are more defensive than others because they used heavier armor, their weight was a Important difficulty. An example is a company that had added more armor to build its structure more defensive, but it wound up being so heavy it snapped the test vehicle’s drive shaft. Various systems with composite equipment were light adequate for vehicle performance requirements, but not protective sufficient.

Many people are working hardly on testing requirements for body armor. Kevlar vests, steel plates, or Ballistic Exoskeletons body armor s function is to shield the soldier or law officer from hurt.

American forces researchers have blown up live pigs dressed in body armour in an attempt to study the link between roadside bomb blasts and brain Damage.

The investigation determined that body armour does not worsen brain damage. The military testing had feared body armour would bounce the force of blasts toward the head and increase in intensity the chance of brain injury. The examination in addition showed that body armour protected troops’ lungs and was critical to surviving blasts.

In this field of body armor, helmet has vital importance. There is four helmet Class in the US military today, and in others military forces:

– Personal Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) helmet is made of and has been in service since 1983. The Kevlar helmet, accessible in five sizes from extra small to extra large five sizes, provides ballistic protection for the head from fragmenting weapons and small arm bullets. Comes with a belt suspension system inside and two-point chin belt. Can be upgraded with a four point chinstrap and pad suspension system.

– Modular Integrated Communications Helmet (MICH) is a special operations lightweight ballistic helmet that incorporates exceptional ballistic and non-ballistic protection with the capability to interface with the majority tactical headsets and microphones used by SOF. Standard with a pad suspension and four-point chinstrap.

– Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) is based on the MICH design and provides an improved helmet to soldiers, replacing the older PASGT. It provides increased 9mm bullet protection. Comes with pad suspension system and the four-point chinstrap.

– Lightweight Helmet (LWH) was Researched for the US Marines to replace the PASGT. Looks very similar to the PASGT, but has a four-point chinstrap built-in and is about 6 ounces lighter. Originally it had a web suspension system and being upgraded to padded suspension.

In ballistic testing, while the helmets will stop a 9mm round, the impact indents the helmet approximately 1.5. Inches. If the helmet were against the skull when the bullet strikes, that indentation is transferred to the skull with resultant injury and/or fracture. Holding the helmet permanently off the skull with shock-absorbing pads reduces or eliminates that scenario.
