Sore Throat Caused by Post Nasal Drip

Suffering from post nasal drip is bad enough but when you get sore throat on top of that, then everything will seem just a bit short of a disaster. The good news is that treating your post nasal drip also helps banish your painful throat. Even if you are unsure if your aching throat is caused by post nasal drip, it is best that you treat it as you would if it was caused by post nasal drip.

A painful throat lasting from more than five days should alert you to see a doctor immediately. If it lasts for 5 days, your sore throat could be due to a bacterial infection or tonsillitis. Drinking plenty of water or warm herbal tea concoctions such as ginger root, sage or chamomile, which are known to posses antimicrobial properties, can also help eliminate sore throat. This helps hydrate your system and control post nasal drip by keeping the linings of your throat moist. Gargling for at least 30 seconds with warm water mixed with a bit of salt can also go a long way in soothing your irritated throat. Do this several times during the day. Some people swear they have been relieved by sucking on a fresh garlic clove. Using a facial steamer with several drops of eucalyptus oil has also helped many people. You can also try mixing water, 1 tablespoon each of raw apple cider and raw honey, and sipping the solution several times a day.

Be careful with the pain medications you take. Only take acetaminophen or ibuprofen to control the pain. Children should not take aspirin as this can cause Reyes syndrome. A humidifier installed in your room can also keep sore throat at bay. It keeps the air moist which is what a sore throat needs. You can use steam vaporizers too, if you want to mix the water with a medicated inhalant.

Do You Recognize the 10 Early Warning Signs of Candida Infection?

Candidiasis, commonly known as candida or yeast infection or thrush, is a fungal infection ranging from superficial, such as oral thrush and vaginitis among women and superficial infections of skin and mucosal membranes by Candida causing local inflammation or discomfort common in many human populations, to systemic and potentially life-threatening diseases like those that develop among severely immuno-compromised persons such as cancer, transplant, and AIDS patients, whereas Although frequently associated with female health systems, it can also occur on the male genitals. Children suffer from this ailment during the years between three and nine. If there are white patches around the mouth, then it could be possible that the child is infected with candida infection.

Regardless of age or gender, here are ten common Candida symptoms:

1. Adult onset allergies to foods and/or airborne chemicals with the number of offending substances increasing until an individual becomes so sensitive to the everyday environment that they must live in isolation

2. Incessant fatigue after eating

3. Gastrointestinal or signs of poor digestion such as constipation or diarrhea, gas, bloating, cramps, heartburn, nausea, gastritis and colitis

4. Neurological symptoms such as cravings, irritability, mood swings, headaches, migraines, “fogged-in” feeling, inability to concentrate/mind “wanders off”, poor memory, confusion, dizziness, M.S.-like symptoms (slurred speech, loss of muscle co-ordination, vision affected), depression and/or anxiety without apparent cause (often worse after eating), paranoia without apparent cause, not in total control of one’ actions (know right thing to do but unable to execute), mental incompetence, a variety of other behavioral disturbances.

5. Genito-urinary symptoms such as vaginal infections, menstrual difficulties, impotence, infertility, prostatitis, rectal itch, urinary tract infection/inflammation or burning.

6. Respiratory symptoms that reflect compromised immune system. Frequent colds, flu’s, hay fever, mucous congestion, postnasal drip, asthma, bronchitis, chest pain, frequent clearing of throat, habitual coughing.

7. Development of various skin infections like athlete’s foot, jock itch, skin rash, hives, dry brownish patches, psoriasis, ringworm, rough skin on sides of arms which gets worse at certain times of the month or under increased stress.

8. Hypochondriac and/or neurotic tendencies, which are resistant to standard modes of therapy

9. Early childhood clinical history with any of the following ADD, ADHD, hyperactivity, aggressiveness, skin problems like cradle cap, diaper rash, thrush, respiratory problems, chronic ear infection, tonsillitis

10. Heightened sensitivity to cold temperatures with arthritis-like symptoms

If you have some combination of these symptoms, you may have candidiasis and it is imperative that you take measures. A thorough intestinal clean-up using Caproyl antifungal, Psyllium cleanser and Bentonite detoxificant, will improve your overall condition, regardless of what you are suffering from. The safest option of course is to see your local physician or health expert.

Get Rid of Herpes? Yes You Can

Herpes is a disease that is easily treated if you know how. I know many of you are struggling to find an answer to this disease. But, guess what? This is not a disease but an immune system problem. Your immunity could not handle herpes when you became exposed which caused you to get your first outbreak. You can build up your immune system so that it can fight herpes for you.

Many People Have This Virus

This germ is rampant in our society. It is estimated that one-third of all people have some form of herpes. This is because all those who have herpes have a poor functioning immune system. I truly believe that viruses exist to strengthen our immunity. Every time we are exposed to a virus, the virus triggers a cascade of immune responses in our body. After seven days of exposure to viruses, our body has created antibodies against it. It is those antibodies that show up on the test that shows you have herpes. And those antibodies attack the virus and let your body know to attach to the viral infected cells letting your immune system know to kill those cells thereby killing the virus.

Therefore You Need A Healthy Immune System

In order to build your immunity to fight herpes, you need many different things to help you. There are foods, herbs, supplements, probiotics, and home treatments that all work together to build up your immunity. If you are eating the wrong foods, then you will actually be feeding the virus and sabotaging your immune system. By eating the right foods then you can actually help suppress herpes and build up your immunity. There have been so many studies in the last 2 decades documenting the antiviral actions of many different herbs. Herbs differ from drugs in that they actually have many different compounds instead of one, that work together to fight the virus from many different angles. These herbs actually suppress the herpes virus from multiplying itself giving you body a chance to fight and kill herpes. And supplements to boost your immunity and fight the virus. Your body can rid itself of herpes if given the support it needs, and building your body’s own immunity.

Diabetes and Alcohol – The Ugly Twins

The main objective of a diabetic patient is to control his sugar level. The food and beverages that we consume will have an effect on that control. Some food and beverages have even a bigger effect. Alcohol is one of them, and has a direct influence on diabetes management.

Alcohol should be wisely used. Alcohol has a dehydrating effect on the body, so keep that in mind. Alcohol is very high in calories, which can lead to increase in bodyweight and blood fat levels. People with poorly controlled diabetes should not drink alcohol altogether.

It is recommended that those with diabetes avoid drinking excessive amounts of alcohol. Guidelines for diabetics and alcohol consumption are as follows: one to two drinks per day for men and one drink per day for women. Those over 65 should also only allow themselves one drink per day.

Alcohol moves through the bloodstream quite easily without ever being metabolized in the stomach. Without giving the liver the proper amount of time to break down the alcohol, it will move to other organs in the body and eventually build up in the bloodstream. Your body can only break down one ounce of alcohol per hour.

Many times people will drink more beverages on a party, than eating food. Diabetic patients can develop hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in such situations. Alcohol tends to lower blood sugar even more.

Generally, when diabetics are experiencing low blood sugar levels, the liver changes the stored carbohydrates in the body into glucose. This glucose in the bloodstream slows down the ‘low glucose’ reaction that the body is having.

So, what is happening when you are taking alcohol? When a diabetic person experiences low glucose levels while drinking alcohol, the trouble lies in that the liver, reacting to the alcohol that has built up in the bloodstream as a toxin, will go on red alert and stop producing glucose in order to cleanse the body of the alcohol. Therefore, drinking on an empty stomach is not recommended.

Drinking just one alcoholic drink can impair judgment enough to make a critical mistake in diabetes management. Diabetics should make sure that there is someone with them who knows what to watch for should a low blood sugar reaction occurs. Hypoglycemic episodes can be easily confused with being tipsy. Remember hypoglycemia can happen some hours after a drinking session.

A bracelet, necklace or identification card stating medical conditions should be worn at all times and glucose tablets should be kept nearby also. It is recommended that diabetics not take naps or fall asleep without having a snack or meal first and to check glucose levels first thing in the morning.

Keep to sensible drinking levels. Alternate an alcoholic drink with a low calorie mixer. Don’t drink on an empty stomach – enjoy a meal before or with your drink. You may need to eat a bigger, starchier meal before the party. Adjust your insulin before you drink.

Red, dry or medium-dry white wines are acceptable in moderation as are dry sherries and dry light beers, such as lagers and light ales; these are fermented with ‘low residual sugars’ and are perfect for moderate consumption. Hard liquors such as whiskey, gin or vodka can be mixed with sugar free or diet mixers.

Sweet wines, ports and sherries have high residual sugar contents, as do heavy and/or dark sweetened beers such as stout and porters. Wine coolers, hard liquors mixed with regular sodas and cocktails in general should be avoided by diabetics.

Video Gaming – Childhood Obesity

The connection between video gaming and childhood obesity has been catching a lot of attention in today’s modern world. Instead of engaging in strenuous physical activities such as sports, children are spending more hours indoors glued to television and computer screens playing video games. Can we blame children for getting addicted to the games? As each year passes, video games keep getting progressively more addictive, capturing younger audiences and turning them to zombies furiously pushing buttons in their virtual worlds. Although it is not really a crime to have children play video games, a certain balance between video games and physical play should be achieved especially nowadays where food items are not as fat-free as people would want them to be.

Video gaming is quite easy to fall into. There are simply too many addictive video games out there and so many easy ways for children to get their hands on them. Companies such as Sony and Microsoft have invested millions of dollars in making their next generation game consoles the ingredients to catch any child’s attention and keep it for a very long period of time. Video games that are presented in high definition with very attractive story lines coupled with a time requirement of over 5 hours to complete, which makes a very lethal combination.

It takes a decent amount of activity to burn off calories even for children who have efficient bodies. Because video games require very little physical activity, the calories remain unburned, leading to being overweight and worse, obesity.

Some video game companies promote physical activities though, which can help prevent the connection between video gaming and childhood obesity. Well known video game giant Nintendo for example, has the Nintendo wii. This next generation console combines video gaming and physical activity through a motion activated input method. Video games are played by doing certain movements instead of pressing buttons which seamlessly gets a bit of physical activities into the otherwise stationary experiences. The console promotes sport oriented titles that require players to swing, hit, punch, jump and run as they would in an actual sport. This is a great way to bridge the gaps associated with video games and fitness.

On the subject of video gaming and childhood obesity, a lot of weight falls on responsible parenting. Although video games are excellent in keeping children preoccupied, they should not be used as virtual baby sitters. Physical play is very important for children especially because it helps them develop parts of their body essential for survival. Parents should know how to regulate playing time so that balance could be achieved. Children should only be allowed a certain amount of playing time with video games so they can find other means of entertainment such as sports. Too much time with video games does not only cause children to become overweight, it could even hamper them from developing very important social skills or could lead to diseases that are related to obesity.

The connection between video gaming and childhood obesity can be easily prevented as long as parents take ample responsibility and encourage balance in the kinds of play their children are involved in.

Horse Riding Exercises – Circles and Bends

Every horse riding exercise is based on the circle exercise. Circles help the horse to be able to bend equally in each direction, and this also helps the horse maintain straightness.

Circles are a very important part of any dressage test – a dressage test at all levels will include combinations of circles of varying sizes, at different paces and in different parts of the arena.

When a horse walks a circle he bends his body to match the curvature of the circle – this is called the correct degree of bend. It is important when asking for a circle that the rider imagines a circle drawn on the ground, and tries to follow it. The horse must not lean to the outside and make the circle too wide, or drift in, and make the circle smaller. By practicing these bends the horse becomes more supple.

Most horses find one direction of bend easier than the other. These horse riding exercises are a great way to even up the horses muscles.

The first circle exercise you will be asked to do is a 20m circle. This basically splits the 40m arena into 2, with the start of the circle at letter A or C, as below, and the mid point of the circle crossing through the imaginary letter X in the centre.

A 15m circle should take you five metres inside of X. It is a tighter circle, and will ask for more bend from your horse.

The smaller circle is the 10m, which will use up one quarter of the arena.

The circle exercises can be performed anywhere in the school – you may be asked for a 20m from A, C, E or B. 20m circles from B or E will take you from one side of the school to the other.

In beginner lessons riders will usually ride a circle as a group, or the instructor will tell you which letter to start from. In more advanced lessons riders may be working in open file, and the instructor will ask all riders to work a circle wherever they choose. In these lessons it is important to remember your school etiquette, and if you are going large (riding round the outside of the arena) you should ‘give way’ to the horse and rider completing a circle, and let them back onto the track in front of you.

In your first lessons you will walk or trot circle horse riding exercises. Later on you will perform canter circles. This is an excellent way of improving your balance.

Circles in the Dressage Test

At the Preliminary level of dressage (level 1) you will need to show 20m circles in trot and canter, and half 10m circles in walk. At the advanced level you will need to show an 8m circle in collected canter. For more information on the movements at each level visit the Dressage page at http://www.limebrook.com/dressage.html

Diaper Rash Home Remedy – 4 Steps That Work Every Time

All babies seem to experience some degree of diaper rash. The good news is

that it’s easy to treat using my simple diaper rash home remedy.

Before I discuss my diaper rash home remedy, lets first talk about ways to

prevent this type of rash in the first place. Most rashes are caused by extended

contact with the baby’s stool (bacteria) and urine (acid). So the best way to

prevent diaper rash is simple common sense — keep your baby’s little bottom

clean, dry, and change their diaper frequently.

Even with the best prevention practices, you’ll still see your fair share of

diaper rash. During these times, you could use commercial diaper rash product

or you could use my favorite diaper rash home remedy. This simple trick has

worked wonders for me. I’m sure it will work for you too!

First, when your baby is experiencing diaper rash, don’t use

wet wipes. Not even the ones that claim to be alcohol free. Just use warm water

to wet a paper towel. Clean the entire area (from belly button to mid thigh).

Second, dry your baby’s bottom using your hair dryer. I know

this sounds strange but your baby is sure to love it. Just make sure you set

the dryer to low heat and don’t get the dryer too close.

Third, wipe the infected areas with liquid Maalox. Maalox

was designed to naturalize the acid it your stomach so it makes sense that it

will naturalize the acid your baby’s stool and urine too.

Forth, before putting a new diaper on, sprinkle corn starch

all over the infected parts. I recommend putting the corn start in a large salt

or pepper shaker to make this easier.

Give it a shot… it worked for all three of my children and I’m confident

it will work for you too.

diaper rash, feel free to stop by AskBabyAdvice.com. You’ll find hundreds of experienced mothers waiting to give you “real”

Recognizing the Warning Signs of a Cold Sore Outbreak

If you want to learn about recognizing a cold  sore  outbreak in its early stages then you’ll want to read this article. Specifically I’ll discuss the what the first signs of an impending cold  sore  in many sufferers, why you should start treatment as soon as you are aware of a new outbreak and the steps you can take to minimize the impact of the outbreak. After reading this article, you should be able to deal with new cold  sore  outbreaks more effectively.

The first sign of an impending cold  sore  is often a tingling sensation in the area that the  sore  later appears. The reason for the tingling is that the herpes simplex virus which causes cold  sores  has woken from its dormant state and when awakened moves towards the surface of the  skin , instead of the nerve cells it normally inhabits.

At the surface of the skin the virus breaks down skin cells, which form a series of small blisters that combine and then burst. The scab that forms takes several more days before it finally heals and falls away leaving healthy skin underneath.

You should start treatment of the infected area as soon as possible to minimize the impact of the virus on your  skin , whether using natural cold  sore  remedies or conventional medical products. This is so the virus is attached before it has done all the damage it can do by actively fighting the virus and reducing the amount it is able to replicate.

There are some claims that rapid treatment using ice applied directly to the skin can sometimes prevent the blister from appearing completely, but it is certainly true that the infected area will be soothed by treating early.

Simply take an ice cube and hold it against the skin for 30 minutes will do the trick. Other remedies that will help include the application of a tea bag to help sooth the lesion and also to fight the virus. One tip to combine bother treatments in one is to freeze a used tea bag and apply it to the area of the cold  sore  for 30 minutes, getting the benefits of the cold as well as the tannic acid from the tea.

If you use viroxyn or a similar product start treatment as soon as possible following the instructions provided with the product or your medical practitioner’s advice.

Do You Have Scalp Psoriasis Symptoms Or is it Just Dandruff?

It is often difficult to tell the difference between scalp psoriasis and dandruff. This is because both share similar symptoms such as itchy scalp and white flakes of dead skin cells. However, there is a difference between these two scalp problems and it’s important to know the difference in order to seek the correct treatment.

The first thing to note is that psoriasis may be the underlying cause of dandruff. Psoriasis is thought to be caused by immune system and a genetic predisposition to psoriasis. Quite often if a member of your family has psoriasis, you may have inherited the genes. However, not all people who have the psoriasis genes go on to develop psoriasis. People of any age can get psoriasis: children, teenagers, adults and older people. Psoriasis tends to affect males and females equally.

As mentioned, both scalp psoriasis and dandruff can cause similar symptoms. Scalp psoriasis can be triggered off by anything from cuts, abrasions, scratches and even sunburn. More often than not a flare up will happen in winter: the skin becomes flaky and dry because of a lack of natural sunlight. With scalp psoriasis, the patches are commonly seen on the back of the head but can be seen on other areas of the scalp or even cover the entire scalp. The psoriasis may not be confined just to the scalp. Scaly, silvery patches may appear on areas such as elbows, knees, lower back, groin and other body folds.

Dandruff, on the other hand, is primarily caused by naturally occurring fungus, the Malassezia yeast that feeds on the natural oils of the skin. This causes the skin to shed more quickly and to itch. Other possible causes of dandruff include not brushing hair regularly, not enough shampooing, dry skin, diet and stress. Mild dandruff often occurs after puberty, usually between 20-30 years, and tends to affect more men than women.

The treatments for both scalp psoriasis and dandruff tend to be similar. Treatments include using shampoos that contain coal tar and salicyclic acid or topical steroid creams to reduce inflammation. Since dandruff is caused by fungus, using an anti-fungal shampoo to inhibit the growth of the fungi usually does the trick.

The difference between scalp psoriasis and dandruff is that scalp psoriasis may be more resistant to regular treatment. If specific shampoos or steroid creams do not work, then your physician may recommend exposure to ultraviolet light to help the skin repair itself. If this doesn’t work, then oral retinoids may be prescribed, but usually as a last resort.

Now you know that even though scalp psoriasis and dandruff look similar in appearance, there are different causes which may require slightly different treatments.

Toenail Fungus – How To Treat Toenail Fungus

How to treat toenail  fungus  when your toenails are the most common breed of fungal infections? While it is common, toenail  fungus  it is not really that easy to get rid of. Everywhere you go,  fungi  is present, and they can render other bad results on your body as well.

Take the toenail, for instance. When it is infected, the nails will appear thick and dull. Sooner or later, it will become breakable and will lead to the loss of your toenail. Not only does it look absolutely unpleasing. It has a stinking smell due to the  fungus  that has infected the toenail.

Are Allergy Shots Effective?

Itchy, watery eyes, runny nose and sneezing are all common symptoms which a vast majority of us experience as allergy symptoms at specific times throughout the year. Many individuals do everything in their power to avoid allergies including changing their diets, staying indoors or taking vitamin supplements. These may contribute to fighting allergies, but there is another effective way to do so. Immunotherapy or allergy shots are gaining popularity. Getting an allergy shot can be scary for some people, so we thought it would be best to fully explain allergy shots and address some common concerns.

How Do They Work?

Allergy shots contain a small amount of the substance which you are allergic to. If you are allergic to pollen, a small amount of pollen would be added to the shot. The amount is small enough so that it does not cause you to suffering from allergy symptoms, but enough so that you body gets used to fighting the allergen. Therefore, the next time your body comes in contact with that substance, it will be familiar with fighting it off and you will most likely not suffer from allergies.

Are Allergy Shots Safe For Everyone?

Although most people will have positive results from allergy shots, they are not right for everyone. Allergy shots are not recommended for individuals suffering from severe heart problems, asthma or other respiratory problems. Also, children under the age of 5 should not be exposed to allergy shots for safety reasons.

What Is The Procedure?

Once you have decided that you would like to get allergy shots, you will receive a shot 1 or 2 times a week for about 6 months. Afterwards, your maintenance shots will require you to get one shot a month, year round for about 3-5 years. Once you have received allergy shots on a regular basis for a couple years, you can discuss it with your doctor and they may tell you its okay to stop getting them at that point.

What Are The Side Effects?

Although allergy shots are effective for many individuals in eliminating allergy symptoms, certain individuals may experience some harmful side effects. Some people may experience feelings of shock when the shot is initially injected, others may feel light-headed or nauseated. For this reason, doctors are required to keep patients in their office for at least 20 minutes after receiving each shot in order to ensure the patient’s safety.

Some people swear by allergy shots while others criticize the effects or claim they don’t work effectively. If you are considering receiving immunotherapy, contact your doctor to discuss. Your doctor will give you more insight in order for you to determine if this is something you really want to do.

ADD or ADHD – What’s the Difference?

Many people wonder about the difference between ADHD, which is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and ADD. which is Attention Deficit Disorder. The answer is that they are variations of the same condition. And it’s not necessarily an all-or-none situation; people with Attention Deficit are either relatively more or less hyperactive.

At its root, Attention Deficit Disorder, with or without Hyperactivity, is a disturbance in the control of mental focus and attention. In some ways, the term Attention Deficit Disorder is somewhat of a misnomer because sometimes people will hyperfocus and shut everything else out — think of a teenager over-focused on a video game. So, the condition should probably be referred to as Attention Modulation Disorder (but it isn’t!).

It is typical for adults to have the more inattentive and less hyperactive type, which accounts for it going unrecognized into adulthood. Those with a lot of hyperactivity tend to be identified in childhood because it is so easily noticed. When prominent hyperactivity exists, associated behavior problems may even result in severe consequences (fighting, suspension from school). In addition, by adulthood, many with ADD have learned to mask or compensate for their struggles, although that increasingly becomes a challenge. Adults with ADD may have quietly been underachievers. They may have taken jobs where ADD is less of an obstacle. Sometimes it is only when their children are diagnosed that adults recognize they have ADD too.

There are other types of symptoms associated with ADD besides problems with focus, organization, and planning and finishing tasks. For example, Mood symptoms are increasingly recognized as an important component of ADD. ADD might result in depression because of discouragement, low self-esteem, or just because routine things are so effortful. Irritability is also a symptom of ADD, and may stem from the frustration associated with the condition. People with ADD can be impatient, which can also lead to irritability and anger.

Because ADD and ADHD are variations on the same theme, the treatment is essentially the same for both, and might consist of stimulant medication, non-stimulant medication, and/or behavior therapy. The only difference is that a group of medications called the alpha-blockers seem to be helpful more for hyperactivity and irritability rather than attention and focus.

Get Yourself Off Depression

It has been noted that many individuals in this generation are unhappy at different stages in their lives for different reasons. According to studies conducted in the United States, at least 17 million individuals or one tenth of the population are unhappy. Two thirds of the respondents were reportedly not getting the happiness they wish to get.

This is why behavioral experts saw the need to provide the alternative manner of coping with sadness and  depression . You need not have to spend a fortune just to be happy to fight  depression . There are now many home remedies for  depression . However, these are not really proven effective to fight severe  depression . But for mild  depression , these alternative and effective solutions will surely work.

Here are some simple, natural and effective remedies for people suffering mild  depression :

1. Use St. John’s Wort, (Hypericum perforatum), is also referred to as Tipton’s Weed or Klamath weed. This herb has long been used as herbal treatment for  depression . In Germany it is commonly used for mild  depression  among children and teens. It can be readily available. These are sold in drug stores. You can buy them in tablets, liquid extracts and tea. It will take at least four to five weeks to determine and see the real effects of the herb.

2. Omega-three fatty acids or the “sensible fat”. This is one type of fat that is needed by the body for normal brain function. Studies suggest that low intake of omega-3 fatty acids will lead to  depression  for most people. Obtaining enough of Omega-three acids is essential healthy brain.

3. Slow down with caffeine. If you are fond of taking caffeine-rich foods, you are advised to take it slowly. Studies showed taking more caffeine can create adverse effects on one’s health. Some may experience abnormal palpitations for taking more caffeine.

4. Spinach that contains folic acid. In most research, individuals who are deficient in folic acid turned out to be ones that are experiencing  depression . Taking ample amount of spinach can compensate folic deficiency.

5. Be optimistic always. This is a key factor to be happy. Never care to fret too much which could lead to  depression . Worrying too much can be so stressful. Optimism is therefore one of your best tools to address  depression  regardless of its degree.

6. Get some rest and relaxation. It’s not a sin to free yourself from stress or detach stressful life in the city to experience real relaxation. Occasionally, you don’t have to go too far away to simply rest and relax, there are many spas and other activities you can with friends for relaxation.

These are just few of home remedies for simple  depression . The bottom line is to smile and laugh – laughter is a therapy and the most practical medicine for  depression .

Social Phobia Cure – 3 Ways to Cure Social Phobia

Social phobia aka social anxiety is a very common mental disorder, it limits sufferers life everyday. It depends on how severe sufferers SA is – for some people it’s just uncomfortable to be around people while others may stay away from most crowded places. To start enjoying life it’s very important to find social phobia cure.

If you’re looking for effective social phobia cure, then you might want to find a therapist. You have a possibility to choose from 3 types of therapies: private, group or cognitive behavioral therapy.

The most common type of therapy is private therapy, you will discuss different topics, describe your feelings and symptoms when you’re around people. Often you may play role games or do presentations to your therapist. Usually therapy lasts about 45 minutes once or twice a week.

It’s good idea to do some research about your therapist before. Make sure that this person has a degree on that area and some experience. If your therapist is specialized on something else, then I suggest you to find someone else, otherwise your SA might be misdiagnosed and mistreated.

Biggest advantage of going to therapies is that you’ll get personalized cure optimized for your symptoms, but they are time-consuming and often expensive.

Another social phobia cure option that you might be interested in are hypnosis. This method is not very common, because some people have reported that it doesn’t work. Fact is that every person is different, so everything can’t work for everyone.

Curing SA by hypnosis doesn’t even require you to leave your house, if you have good audio CD, then you can listen to it from your computer. But remember, if you’re quite convinced that it won’t work for you, then it probably won’t, because it is very important to believe in your social phobia cure method.

The biggest advantage of hypnosis is probably that it’s much less time-consuming than therapies are, but as I said they may not work for everyone.

Third social phobia cure option that I would recommend you is curing it by following self-help guide. It’s similar to taking therapies, but you are your own therapist, so it is much less time-consuming, it’s probably the cheapest social phobia cure method and it’s very effective if a decent guide is followed. If you’re looking for a good guide then you might want to visit my blog.

Treatment For Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety  disorders treatment consists of immediate assistance and a range of follow up procedures depending upon how a person responds at any stage in their treatment and recovery.

This treatment at first consists of reassuring the person involved and attempting to reduce their level of stress. People suffering a panic or  anxiety  attack can be assisted to a place where they will feel more comfortable, and given something like hot, sugared tea to drink. Similarly, people suffering from a phobic situation should be removed from the cause of their terror, and be given reassurance.

In the longer term, people suffering from  anxiety  disorders can be taught relaxation techniques, which can prevent the onset of  anxiety  attacks and also assist a more speedy recovery. Relaxation techniques can include deep and slow breathing, meditation, or pilates. Exercise is also recommended because it promotes relaxation and enhances general fitness. This in turn makes people less prone to extreme reactions when feeling  anxiety  or stress and better able to control their reaction to it.

This treatment can also consist of changing people’s mistaken beliefs about situations and discouraging negative self-talk so as to reinforce a more positive point of view.

People suffering from  anxiety  issues also need to learn how to express their feelings and to become more assertive about expressing their real needs and the causes of their stress. Often a lack of self esteem is involved with  anxiety  disorders and so unique programs can be designed to assist with confidence building and to help people to feel more in control.

In present times a lot more attention is being given to the nutrition of people who suffer from  anxiety  disorders, with diet plans and various supplements which encourage people to take more interest in their physical health. Physical symptoms of  anxiety  can be greatly reduced if a person is fit and healthy. Giving specific food supplements to counteract deficiencies leads to a stronger functioning of the body systems, so that there is less of a stress reaction at a physical level whenever a person feels emotionally stressed.

Medications are available to treat  anxiety  disorders, but these days used as a last resort or if someone is suffering from an acute  anxiety  attack. Pharmaceutical drugs include sedatives and also anti-depressants such as Prozac. (not to be taken as medical advice or counsel)

The problem with taking medication on its own Is that it tends to encourage reliance upon the medication and no movement or improvement of the actual  anxiety  disorder occurs. Although they may take some effort and time, by using practical methods such as have been mentioned above, treatments will in time lead to long lasting and positive improvements. Taking medications can assist with the most critical stages but ultimately better fitness, good nutrition and high self esteem form a good basis for a person to develop strategies for dealing with  anxiety  disorders.

For post traumatic stress disorders  anxiety  disorder treatment often consists of a debriefing about the traumatic event so that issues about it can be discussed and placed into a more objective framework. Care must be taken not to start on a debriefing too soon after a traumatic event because of the risk of re-traumatizing the person concerned. Time naturally heals, and it is only problematic residues that a person still feels uncomfortable about some time after the event that might need to be worked with and resolved. For people who have phobias,  anxiety  disorder treatment includes gradual exposure to the object which causes the fear so that eventually a person is able to tolerate it, bear it and in the best outcomes, become totally indifferent to whether or not they are in the presence of the object which causes the fear.
