Serrapeptase Is An Affordable Organic Miracle Medication

Imagine if you knew an old person over 60 who was cured in only three weeks from advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) and emphysema with an affordable natural medicine. Fortunately, there is an organic medicine out there that can effectively treat a wide variety of health issues, even those nagging ailments of aging. This affordable medicine is called Serrapeptase. The story of the 60 year old man who recovered in only 3 weeks was related in a radio interview about the Serrapeptase medicine, by Dennis Gore, an England pharmacist who specializes in organic medicines and herbs.

A Dramatic Anecdote

According to Dennis Gore, in the year 2002, an ill man was brought into the Dennis’s pharmacy in a wheelchair by his wife. The sick man was on antibiotics, had to breath from an oxygen bottle, and had to regularly use steroid sprays to reduce inflammation. Because of this, the old man constantly suffered from other side effects and bad infections. This man had heard the BBC radio discussion in where Dennis discussed about studies done in many parts of Europe on Serrapeptase’s ability to remove blood vessel and airway obstructions.

Therefore, this severely sick individual asked Dennis for some Serrapeptase. Dennis instructed the sick man to take two 20,000IU tablets, around five grams, on an empty stomach 4 times a day. Dennis Gore also advised the sick man to reduce the medication gradually as he got better.

Three weeks later, a six foot middle aged male visited the pharmacy and asked if Dennis remembered him. Dennis could not remember the man at all. So, the man told Gore he was the person who had emphysema, COPD, and no longer needed a wheelchair to get around. Furthermore, he was not longer on steroid sprays, antibiotics, and did not need oxygen cylinders anymore. Two years later, this man was still healthy and a steady customer to this pharmacist.

What is Serrapeptase?

Serrapeptase is an enzyme that was discovered in silkworms. Silkworms produces this type of enzyme to digest the tough Mulberry leaves that they live on. Furthermore, they use this enzyme to quickly bore through their tough cocoon. Researchers isolated this enzyme and started making cultures by adding a protein. Researchers then started making various clinical trials and experiments that became successful. From then on, the enzyme went into broad usage. In fact, Serrapeptase is considered to be a standard medicine in Germany.

Enzymes are catalysts that speed up or enable biochemical reactions. The catalyst, an enzyme in this case, does not become consumer by the chemical reaction. On the contrary, the enzyme helps start the reaction. There are about 4000 different biochemical reactions that require enzymes as catalysts. Thus, the human body relies on enzymes to not only digest foods, but the body also require enzymes for cellular activity.

The enzyme activity of Serrapeptase is special because it is enzyme is a safe and effective arterial chelation agent. Pharmacist Dennis Gore has closely studied the reports of Dr. Hans Napier, a German doctor who had good results with clearing blocked arteries with this enzyme. By using this enzyme, this German doctor did not need to proceed to perform a risky operation on a patient. Dr. Hans Napier treated a female patient with Serrapeptase who was about to have an operation to have her arm amputated. After the enzyme treatment the woman recovered without the need for an amputation.

Unlike many other types of medications used to remove inflamed lipids (fats) or arterial wall plaque in the blood system, this natural medicine doesn’t block the biosynthesis of cholesterol. The truth is, in its pure form, cholesterol acts as an antioxidant necessary for all the organs to function properly. If this biosynthesis is hampered, then long term health problems will likely occur.

Furthermore, Serrapeptase is an extremely powerful natural anti-inflammatory agent. Therefore, this medicine can be used to treat any areas of inflammation without resorting to using steroids or other similar drugs that typically have negative side effects.

Current and Historical usage of Serrapeptase

This medicine actually has a 25 year history of use in many parts of Asia and Europe. Serrapeptase digest all cysts, non living tissue, blood clots, arterial blockages, and inflammation. It has also been found to be much more effective than the traditional medical use of EDTA Chelation in removing arterial plaques. Also, the great thing about Serrapeptase is that it does not have any side effects.

Serrapeptase has successfully been used for the treatment of arthritis, cardiovascular issues, fibrocystic breast disease, sinusitis problems, lung problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, and even some sport injuries. It is also recommended as an anti-aging agent because much of aging is about the accumulation of inflammation, scar tissues, and dis-regulation.

Inflammation is a necessary process that helps protect healthy cells from harmful invaders. Dis-regulation occurs when the process of inflammation loses discrimination and can no longer differentiate between benign substances and harmful substances. On the other hand, there is unnecessary inflammation that typically leads to long term autoimmune issues.

There are numerous reports of pains and aches vanishing after the use of Serrapeptase. This organic and natural enzyme does not in any way suppress the immune system. Furthermore, this enzyme does not produce any negative side effects. Serrapeptase is available in different sources in both tablet and capsule form. It is advised that heavy dosages be taken early until there is a positive change, then gradually use lighter dosages.

You may ask why Serrapeptase is not a household term after scientist have discovered it 25 years ago? Since, this medicine is safe, effective, inexpensive, and does not need a prescription, many doctors are afraid it will replace other forms of man-made medication. Do you think large pharmacies will be promoting something like this?

Diabetes – A Degenerative Disease

Diabetes Disease:

In normal individuals food is broken down to glucose in the presence of insulin the glucose present in blood is utilized by body cells with the aid of insulin secreted by pancreas for getting energy to maintain optimal health. Diabetes is a condition which is signified by a higher concentration of glucose levels in the blood because person cannot utilize glucose due to deficiency of insulin secretion by the pancreas of the body.

Types of Diabetes:

Type 1 Diabetes: The Cells of Pancreas responsible for secretion of Insulin do not function properly or are completely damaged. This type of diabetes is found in children and young persons, hence it is also known as Juvenile Diabetes.

Type 2 Diabetes: In this type of Diabetes the pancreas cells do make some insulin but the body prevents the insulin to perform it’s function. This type is usually found in elderly obese patientsonly but now a days it is encountered in children and young persons also.

Diabetes is found in the pregnant women also, if it is not treated properly the mother and child can also develop many health disorders.

Diabetes Symptoms:

Diabetes is characterized by:

1. Feeling of exhaustion all the times.

2. Sensation of great thirst (Polydipsia)

3. frequent urination.

4. Blurring of the eyesight.

5. Felling of hunger all the times.

6. Sudden fall of body weight.

7. Non-healing of wounds.

8. Numbness of hands and feet.

Causes of Diabetes:

Definite causes of Diabetes are not known, possibly body lacks a gene which can provide protection at the time of onset of disease. Diabetic patients are usually obese with a sedentary life style, hiving higher levels of triglycerides in thir blood or suffering from hypertension and also having a diabetic hereditary family history

Diabetes a Warning Signal:

The health of the Diabetic patient is on the thresh hold of rapid worsening of the status of his health if not properly taken care of initially and maintaining of care through out his life.

Diabetes affects both rich and poor alike and for a considerable peiod remains undiagnosed, because for minor symptoms the patients donot take medical advise and the disease progresses to a stage when the symptoms become uncomfortable for the patient to bear. Because of this trend of accessing delayed medical advice, India has become the Diabetes World capital with more than 33 million people suffering from type 2 Diabetes representing about 20 % of World Diabetic Population. With the present progression rate it is estimated that by the year 2030, about 80 million Indian population shall be diabetic. A similar progression trend has been noticed in other Asian Countries also.

Diabetes a life long association:

Diabetes patients are destined to live their rest of their life with Diabetes with lot of care to keep the disease under control by regularly taking the advised medication and adjusting their food and lifestyle habits. Patients have to remain regularly under medical care

Diabetes & Future Onset of Serious Complications:

Diabetic patients carry a high risk of exposure to other serious complications, like hypertension, coronary heart disease, Degenerative vascular system and tissues of lower limbs. When there is continued high blood sugar level, the blood sugar generates certain substances, which are potentially harmful to the body cells, which damage delicate organs like heart, Blood Vessels, Kidneys, Nerves, Teeth and lower limbs. If with the passage of time treatment is not initiated serious complications start setting in.

Diabetic Disease Education to patients:

The Diabetic patients need to be educated about their disease and the necessary care and precautions they have to religiously follow in the true sense particularly about the lower limbs. The Diabetic patients are carrying a higher risk of degenerative vascular system of lower limbs resulting in Nerves and Tissues damage progression of which requires amputation of Toe, Foot depending upon the severity of the affected part. Thus they have to lead a life of dependency.

Diabetes & Heart Disease:

Diabetic Patients are 2 to 4 times more prone to suffer from heart attack as compared to normal persons. In the obstructructions developed in the arteries of heart and in the entire circulatory system there is slowing of blood supply resulting in pain in the Chest, difficulty in breathing, swelling of Heels, thickening of the blood vessels all these quickly lead to a Heart Attack

Protection of Heart & Blood Vessels:

The quick onset of serious complications can be reduced by:

1. Bringing down high blood glucose levels to normal.

2. Reducing intake of foods containing high quantities of Saturated fats, Trans Fats and High

Cholesterol foods.

3. Reduction in intake of Common Salt.

4. Keeping blood Pressure and blood Lipids in control.

5. No smoking and no consumption of tobacco.

6. Moderate Exercise.

Kidney Disease:

The filtration membrane gets thickened. The Protein metabolites excretion is reduced, which damages the kidney. The incidence of Renal failure due to Diabetes is in 45 % of the Renal failure cases. Special kidney function tests are performed to ascertain early involvement of kidney complications because no specific symptoms are witnessed in early stages of kidney complications.

Complications of Eyes:

Diabetes can damage the smaller capillaries of the eye. Diabetes can precipitate Glaucoma because of increase of internal pressure in the eye ball. There can be eyesight complication or even complete blindness due to the damage to retinal blood vessels and detachment of Retina.

Amputations of affected foot:

The complication of the foot can be loss of touch sensation, Pain or swelling of foot, Delayed or non-healing of foot, Change in the colour of skin to redness. As a precaution the foot should be protected from any cut, scratch or from any other injury. Wounds because of faulty blood circulation in the feet the Nerves and Tissues get damaged resulting ultimately gangrene development resulting into amputation of toe or foot in diabetic foot damage progression.

Gateway optimal health is with you on your journey to Disease free Healthy Life Styles

Weight Loss Tips

We live in a nation of growing obesity. Statistics indicate that obesity has doubled since 1980. A 2008 report showed that 1.5 billion adults were clinically obese and over 45 million children were obese. There are complications connected to being obese. Approximately 3 million people die yearly from disease brought on or made worse from obesity. These diseases include diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

Practice Prevention: There are many things you can do to control your weight and prevent obesity. It is fundamentally a shift in how you think. You must realize that you have a great deal of power over your own health. Consider the fact that you in part, can control how you age and how you can maintain good health throughout your lifetime. Of course disease can occur to any of us. However you can greatly reduce your risks with a healthy lifestyle.

Physical Activity: Exercise is a very important part of any healthy lifestyle. Exercise will strengthen your body and you will begin to build muscle. Your metabolism will increase because muscle has a higher metabolic rate than fat. So add some strength training routines to your exercise program. You can incorporate 2-3 strength training routines weekly. Only 15-20 sessions can have a huge impact on your physical strength and health. You will begin burning fat and therefore lose weight.

Good Fats versus Bad Fats: There are healthy fats to add to your diet. These include omega fatty acids such as those found in fresh fish. Salmon is has one of the highest levels of good omega fatty acids. 2-3 servings weekly could be very healthy and helpful to your weight loss. Research has shown that monounsatured fats are very effective for weight loss. A good food to add to your diet is avocados. Although not the lowest in calories, avocadoes are extremely nutritious and high in monosaturated fats. Try adding some avocado to a salad or make a guacamole dip to eat with veggie sticks such as celery and carrots. Other healthy food choices for good fats include grass fed beef and extra virgin olive oil. Olive oil has numerous health benefits. It has been shown to increase the fat burning response in the body as well as lower inflammation levels.

Sugar: Sugar is something you definitely want to eliminate from your diet, particularly if you are trying to lose weight. When you consume too much sugar, this signals your body to use insulin to begin burning it off. As a result, your insulin will spike. Whatever isn’t used will be converted by your body into fat. Try to limit your sugar intake to no more than 10 percent of your daily calorie intake. So for example if you consume 1500 calories daily, sugar should comprise only 150 of those calories. Always be on the lookout for hidden sources of sugar such as those found in soda and juices.

A Healthy Breakfast: When you are sleeping your metabolism goes into more of a resting state. This is referred to as “catabolism”. In order to turn it on as efficiently as possible, you need to eat a good breakfast. Having a protein with breakfast is helpful along with whole grains. A good breakfast choice might be a veggie omelet with whole wheat bread. Or some oatmeal topped with fresh fruit and a protein bar. And remember to start the day with drinking some fresh pure water to hydrate your body.

Eating Styles: Eating smaller “mini meals” is a very effective way to help you lose weight. Eating your meals at consistent times is helpful. Eating every three hours during the day is a good way to keep your body consistently fueled with energy. This will also keep you from overeating. Many people overeat because they starve themselves all day and then they binge on a huge dinner. The whole key to keeping weight off is to keep your metabolic rate as high as you can. Skipping meals actually lowers your metabolism.

Reward System: Everyone once in a while you really need to just reward yourself. If you are too regimented in your eating habits and never allow yourself a little indulgence now and then, one of two things will happen. Either you will end up binging or you will quit and begin to go back to your old habits. It is well known that when you are too restrictive in your diet you will usually binge within a month and potentially gain even more weight.

Supportive Relationships: Being with like minded people who take care of themselves will really help you. If you are with peers who are overweight and have no motivation to get in shape you will probably do the same. We tend to mirror those we associate with. So if this is your situation, why not look to broaden your horizons and meet new and interesting people. You could join a gym, or a local meet up group that does walking, hiking, swimming, dance, etc. This will change your outlook on yourself. Before you know it, you will incorporate new and healthy habits into your own life and be on your way to successful weight loss.

Eliminate Junk Foods: Go through your kitchen and eliminate all of the unhealthy junk foods and processed foods you have around. You will benefit yourself and your family by doing so. If you have easy access to junk foods, the odds are you will eat it. Anytime you feel rushed or upset about something you will reach out to these types of foods. Focus instead on filling your pantry with healthy, wholesome foods. Keep snacks such as fresh fruit and no sugar yogurts in your home.

Water: Water is very important to your good health. You need to stay hydrated. If it is hard for you to drink water, add fresh lemon or lime. Try drinking 4 to 6 glasses per day of water. Drinking water is helpful to weight loss because it keeps you feeling full. An easy way to get your water intake is to bring a few bottles with you to work to have readily available to you. This will lessen the temptation to consume soda or fruit juices that are high in calories and filled with sugar. Remember, whenever beginning any dietary or lifestyle changes, always consult with a medical professional, particularly if you are taking prescription drugs or suffer from any disease or ailment.

Penis Health Cremes – What You Need To Know

The skin of the penis can be highly sensitive and is susceptible to a number of common health issues, which can cause penis redness, loss of penile sensation, penis itchiness, irritation, painful intercourse, and unpleasant odors. Maintaining this delicate area using a moisturizer or penis health crème containing penis-specific vitamins and minerals may help to prevent common penis problems. It is important to keep in mind that not all skin care products are equal; therefore, it is essential to know what to look for in a penis health crème. The best penis care products should do the following:

Moisturize – The skin of the penis is subject to some rough treatment. Aggressive masturbation, intercourse, tight clothing, and harsh chemical detergents can all dry and irritate the skin of the penis, causing flaking, redness and soreness and even increasing the chances of developing a painful infection when bacteria are allowed to penetrate through microscopic fissures in the outer dermal layer. Products containing ingredients such as shea butter and vitamin E can moisturize the skin, keeping it soft and supple and preventing uncomfortable dryness and irritation.

Heal – The surface of the skin is easily damaged; even without being aware of it, tiny cracks may develop in the skin’s surface, frequent masturbation and aggressive sex can damage penis cell neurons and actually diminish penis sensation. One important study show that 87% of men at age 39 have experienced some loss of penile sensation. A good healthy crème should contain vital nutrients that the body needs to repair damaged skin cells and heal after damage to the skin’s surface. Vitamin B5 and vitamin D are noted for their ability to help the body heal after injury, while vitamin C is important for the growth of collagen, the tissue that gives skin its structure and elasticity. Amino acids such as L-arginine and acetyl L carnitine are also important in rebuilding damaged skin cells and promoting overall dermatological health.

Protect – Protecting penis skin from harmful environmental agents and minor fungal and bacterial infections is essential for optimum penis health. Antioxidant nutrients such as vitamins A and C can protect the skin cells from free radicals, boost immune function, and help the body to fight off skin infections that can cause rash, itching and soreness.

Maintaining penis health should include good personal hygiene, as well as maintaining a healthy diet, getting plenty of exercise, and choosing sexual partners with care; wearing loose-fitting, comfortable clothing made from natural fabrics can also keep the area clean and dry.

Use a penis health crème or skin care products?

Numerous products that are on the market have been recommended at one time or another for caring for the skin of the penis; these include everything from olive oil to baby oil to skin moisturizers and anti-wrinkle creams. However, these products are not designed specifically for treating the skin of the penis. Olive oil, for instance, is not easily absorbed, and applying it to the penile skin can leave a sticky and unpleasant mess; while cosmetic skin creams and baby oil often contain fragrances, coloring agents and other chemicals that can cause irritation to the delicate skin of the penis, particularly if it is accidentally applied to the urethral opening.

Health professionals recommend treating penis skin with a specialized penis health crème (most health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) that can help to prevent common penis problems such as dry skin, red penis, penis rash, irritation and diminished penis sensitivity. The benefits provided by the penis-specific ingredients, which include several essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, can boost the body’s natural healing ability and keep you feeling great and performing at your best.

Dry Itchy Penile Skin – Could It Be an Allergy to Vaginal Fluid?

It is not uncommon to hear from men – or their female partners – that they believe they have a skin allergy to a woman’s vaginal fluid; and it can be easy to understand why men who have frequent problems with dry, itchy penile skin after sex might think so. Men who have adverse reactions following intimate contact may feel frustrated or even angry and blame their condition on a partner – and this, of course, can lead to serious relationship problems. Fortunately, while there may be a real penis health problem to contend with, the answer is rarely a skin allergy to vaginal fluid. Here are a few of the more likely possibilities, as well as what men can do to soothe an itchy penis and prevent problems in the future.

Reasons that sex might cause dry, itchy penile skin:

1. A partner with a yeast infection. Although most people are more familiar with the feminine yeast infection, which is caused by the Candida yeast, men can also be affected. Symptoms of a Candida infection include dry, sometimes cracked skin, moderate to severe itching, a thick, whitish discharge and inflammation. Partners can easily transmit the infection back and forth, even when one partner does not have any obvious symptoms. A yeast infection can be cleared up using over-the-counter medications, but it is important that both partners are treated at the same time to prevent reinfection.

2. A partner with bacterial vaginosis. There are a large number of bacteria present in the female canal – some are beneficial, and some are not. Under normal conditions, the “good” bacteria cancel out the bad, but when the body’s natural chemical balance is disrupted, the “bad” bacteria can take over and cause an infection known as bacterial vaginosis. Not all women are aware they have this condition, but contact with an affected woman may cause male symptoms such as dryness and itching. Treatment by a doctor can eliminate the infection.

3. Allergy to latex. If men find that they develop dryness and itching following most encounters with a partner, it is important to consider all of the factors that might be at play. In many cases, it may be something the man himself is doing that is causing the problem. One cause of dryness and itching may be a latex allergy; switching barrier protection to a non-latex material may be the answer in this case.

4. Irritation caused by a personal lubricant. Personal lubricants often contain fragrances, flavors, or warming or cooling agents that are meant to enhance the sensual experience. However, these additives may include chemical irritations that can cause drying, redness, itching, soreness and a number of other uncomfortable symptoms. Sticking to neutral, water-based lubes may solve the itching problem for good.

5. Lack of lubrication. Another mistake that men may make during sex is to skip on the lube altogether. In this case, an excess of friction can cause minute tears in the surface of the skin that can leave him feeling sore, itchy and uncomfortable. To avoid this problem, it is best to make sure to have a lube on hand in case the natural fluids produced by the body are not sufficient.

Soothing dry, itchy penile skin

Although it is important to narrow down the source of the problem, and then to treat any underlying conditions and avoid triggers of skin reactions in the future, the first concern that most men likely have is to soothe the itch and ease the discomfort.

While a doctor should always be consulted, here are a few self-care tips that can help – just remember never to apply any medications, creams, lotions or other topical preparations to broken or inflamed skin.

1. Wash the area carefully with warm – not hot – water and a gentle cleanser; this will ensure that all traces of any irritants are washed away. Rinse thoroughly afterward and pat dry with a soft cloth.

2. For severe itching, try a colloidal oatmeal bath. Soaking in a lukewarm oatmeal bath is often recommended due to its skin-soothing properties.

3. Follow up with a nutrient-rich penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) that contains a natural emollient such as Shea butter, which is ideal for most skin types and is widely known for its moisturizing and healing ability.

Flax Seed Oil Benefits For The Skin

Flax seed oil contains high levels of omega 3 and omega 6 essential fatty acids which can either be taken internally by eating the flax seeds or taking flax seed oil supplements or it can be applied externally as a pack for healthy skin.

Flax seed oil is useful for healing scars, abrasions and also has anti-inflammatory properties and so is useful for inflamed skin or skin disorders such as psoriasis and eczema. Flax seed oil is also useful for dry skin.

Many skin problems today such as acne, eczema and psoriasis may also be partly due to the fact that the modern diet is lacking in omega 3 essential fatty acids. As a rich source of omega 3 fatty acids flax seed is able to replenish the correct body levels of these fats and so benefit skin disorders that may result from a deficiency.

Patrick Holford says in his book “New Optimum Nutrition Bible”, “Another important component of a good skin diet is the Omega 3 and 6 essential fats. Each cell membrane – in effect the skin of each cell – is composed partly of essential fats, and in turn your skin is made up of countless cells. So the fatty acid content of your cell membranes is vital. Not only do the essential fats keep cell membranes smooth and soft, but also they help the membranes to do a better job of controlling what goes in and out of the cells. Without enough fats in the cell membranes, they are not able to retain water and they lose their plumpness. So for soft skin, include plenty of essential fat rich foods in your diet such as fish, nuts and seeds and their oils. Have seeds in salads, as snacks or ground up, and on cereals, yogurt or soups” (Holford, P. “New Optimum Nutrition Bible”)

Flax seed oil benefits acne as the fatty acids present in flax seed help to prevent the clogging of the pores of the skin and thin the sebum which causes these clogged pores.

Psoriasis is another skin disorder that is benefited by taking flax seed. Flax seed contains the omega 3 fatty acid ALA which is broken down by the body into EPA. EPA supplementation has been found to be beneficial for psoriasis sufferers when used with their normal medication.

You can take flax seed oil internally by sprinkling ground flax seed over cereals and salads or adding whole flax seeds to a glass of water and drinking immediately (if you leave it too long it will solidify the water).

Make a flax seed oil pack by grinding flax seed and adding about three times as much water. Leave it to stand for a while until it becomes a gel (due to the mucilage escaping the seeds). This oil pack may then be applied externally to the skin.

Omega 3 essential fatty acids such as are found in flax seed are essential for healthy skin and can benefit skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. In order to get the full benefits of flax seed for your skin include flax seeds in your diet, take flax seed supplements and use external applications of flax seed oil packs.

Scalp Infections – Symptoms, Causes & Natural Options For Fast Relief & Treatment

There are many definitions and symptoms commonly described as “scalp infections”. There are in fact quite a few quite different reasons why your scalp may be sore, itchy, inflamed burning red or infected. If you are like many people with chronic scalp issues – it may be driving you completely up the wall and not knowing what it is or how to treat the problem effectively after many unsuccessful attempts to eliminate it can make it seem far worse – like you are never going to get to the bottom of the problem. Well that need no longer be so! It can be simple to diagnose and treat it now and for good.

So if you are dealing with any of these symptoms lets first identify the problem and then some of the underlying causes.

Firstly, if you want to get to the root of your problems, so to speak, you need to be able to identify what your problem actually is. Of course, many scalp infections & conditions look alike, so here is a brief description of some of the most common scalp conditions:

  • Red Burning Itchy Scalp
  • Dandruff
  • Ringworm
  • Dry Scalp
  • Scalp Dermatitis
  • Eczema of the Scalp
  • Scalp Psoriasis
  • Folliculitis
  • Stress Related Itching
  • Red burning itchy scalp can be characterized as any tingling, burning, prickly, and sensitive to the touch or a fiery hot sensation. Often associated with an allergy, sunburn, chemical burn (sensitization of the scalp),or fungal infection.

Dandruff as most of us know is the process of continual shedding of skin cells on our scalps. Often the cause of dandruff is simply the result of toxins, pollutants and products that have built up on the scalp particularly products like silicone- a cheap commonly used artificial shine enhancer in conditioners sold in supermarkets.

When the natural balance of our scalps is disturbed, this creates the perfect environment for the yeast fungus Melassezia Globbosa to move in and thrive. This is when the natural process of shedding our cells gets a little out of hand resulting in an unsightly condition known as “Seborrhoeic Dermatitis” (fancy name for dandruff) and we see the highly visible tell-tale signs of flaking and crusting.

The accompanying itch and urge to scratch are often made worse by the multiplication of the fungal yeast pityrosporum-ovale (having one big party on your scalp). Another follow on effect of this is that the relentless scratching by the sufferer can cause small lesions which weep and ooze or become infected resulting in scalp infections.

Lumps bumps and sores are also common when the scalp is highly irritated or sensitivity has been aggravated. Candida can be an underlying cause of yeast infections of the scalp.

Ringworm of the scalp (tinea capitols) is a superficial fungal infection of the scalp. Scalp ringworm is caused by mold-like fungi called dermatophytes. Ringworm infection occurs when a particular type of fungus grows and multiplies anywhere on your skin, scalp, or nails. It is far more common in children and symptoms include red, itchy patches on the scalp, leaving bald areas. The skin might itch and be red and peel or be scaly, have swollen blisters or a rash (that can spread) and looks like black dots. The rash is highly contagious. It is normally treated with over the counter products containing miconazole, clotrimazole, or similar. Sometimes prescription anti fungal skin medications, such as ketoconazole are needed to clear it up. There are also products direct from nature’s factories that can aid the healing process and act as natural antibiotics, although it must be said that ringworm is an aggressive fungus which needs to be monitored closely and treated accordingly.

Dry scalp can feel “tight”, a sensation that is sometimes accompanied by flakiness. It is often the result of natural oils being stripped from our scalps by the frequent use of shampoos, hair dyes and or other hair products.

Dermatitis of the scalp (Seborrheic dermatitis) is an inflammatory disorder affecting areas of the head and body where sebaceous glands are most prominent. It can vary from mild dandruff to dense flakey and greasy scale. Once again it is often an accumulation of toxins and products built up on our scalps that our body is trying to rid itself of.

Eczema of the scalp similar in appearance to Seborrheic dermatitis but instead has the name Atopic dermatitis.

Scalp Psoriasis commonly occurs on the back of the head however multiple areas of the scalp or the whole scalp may be affected. Scalp psoriasis is characterized by thick silvery white scales on patches of very red skin and can extend slightly beyond the hairline. Scalp psoriasis, despite being partially hidden by the hair is often a source of social embarrassment due to flaking of the scale and severe ‘dandruff’. Scalp psoriasis may be extremely itchy or on occasion have no itch symptoms. It can also cause temporary baldness on the affected areas. It is a common, chronic, inflammatory skin disease and is associated with increased risk of melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and basal cell carcinoma.

Folliculitis of the scalp is a superficial bacterial infection of the hair follicles. It is characterized by pustules around the hair follicles and symptoms include painful brushing of hair and tenderness when rubbing your scalp around the hair follicle sites. Treating with antibiotics for the particular bacteria is the usual course of action but can eventually cause resistance to the antibiotic used. Options include applying Evoclin Foam which is topical. Folliculitis is commonly caused by staph bacteria which also reside inside the nose and sinus cavity. Natural oils such as tea tree and lavender have good antibacterial properties and can also be used to treat this condition.

If you have a bump or lump under the skin (commonly a lump behind the ears with no broken skin or rash developing, then this could be a cyst. Cysts are liquid filled pustules which can be painful when they become infected. If you have such symptoms I recommend seeing a doctor to be safe. Doctors can also treat cysts with antibiotics if they have become infected or incise them as a further but uncommon procedure if the antibiotics are not sufficient.

Stress Related Itching Stress can contribute to or worsen scalp itching as it plays havoc with our immune system and hormones which have an effect on production of sebum from your sebaceous glands. Although it can contribute to the problem it is still somewhat of a myth. It may appear that you have a”stress rash”, but it is more likely that the problem was already there in a less noticeable way, then aggravated by increased stress levels making it harder for your body to deal with the problem on its own and eliminate the problem. Many of the treatments below include stress relieving properties – like Lavender oil for example which calms the mind and soothes the body.

Solutions – what YOU can do about it

Going to your doctor may be the best way to get an accurate answer to diagnosing your problem, but I understand that many of you may have already done this, been prescribed some form of medication of cream (even “heavy duty” cortisone based ones where the cortisone potency may need to be increased after time).

Often the problem either doesn’t go away from the start – or seems to subside but comes back with full a vengeance later leaving you wondering with more unanswered questions and a VERY unhappy scalp! Well the good news is if you don’t like using these expensive and often impotent products- or even want to help them along you can use natural remedies and essential oils known to be super effective anti-bacterial busters such as tea tree oil for instance to inhibit or stop the growth of the infection and assist healing/re balancing of the scalp.

Something that is also important to understand in curing scalp conditions and scalp infections – a factor that is missed by so many doctors, and something not disclosed by companies who sell hair products and treatments is the number of people who are allergic or sensitive to commonly used ingredients in shampoos, dandruff treatments and other hair products. In fact MOST hair products (as many as 90%) contain at least one ingredient that is used in engine degreasers, another is a common ingredient in antifreeze.

These ingredients are cheap to produce foaming agents that make shampoo foam up, and do a fantastic job of stripping dirt and oily build up from hair. Problem is that they sometimes do SUCH a good job that they remove all of the natural oils and sebum from the scalp thus removing the scalps natural against bacteria etc. Another little known fact is that the most common ingredient (Sodium laureth sulphate) is used to induce skin irritation in test patients by drug companies to test the effectiveness of their itch relief skin creams. When first produced and for year’s afterwards manufacturers did not know that skin was not a barrier but an absorber of ingredients & that they caused skin irritation in so many people.

So sometimes the beginning of a scalp condition can have originated from something as simple as an imbalance to the skins (scalps) sebum or an allergy to an ingredient that can easily be rectified.

Like your immune system, if your skin has an opportunity to rebalance itself and not be subjected to “incoming foreign matter” and the daily stripping of its natural oils that further aggravates the problem you can allow your body to re balance and heal itself. Obviously buying products that do not strip your hair and scalp is an obvious step in the right direction.

Fortunately there are a lot of manufacturers such as Aveda and Akin (Purist Company) who know what consumers are suffering from these issues so have addressed this problem. They have applied this knowledge to produce some amazing products with all of the benefits of natural ingredients, with none of the side effects at a price we can afford (Akin especially). It need not be difficult, nor expensive to make these choices and a move to healthy hair and scalp long term.

So yes you can eliminate harsh shampoos containing sodium sulphates and go for natural Sulphate and paraben free shampoos that contain ingredients such as macadamia, wheat germ or jojoba oils. These oils mimic our natural sebum to some extent to help to re moisturize and nourish our scalp.

Then there are lavender, rosemary and tea tree oils which contain antibacterial, healing properties. Neem oil great for its antiquing and stops itching. You can apply these topically to your skin for fast relief, to assist healing as well as looking out for shampoos with these natural ingredients in them.

Lavender calms the skin (as does chamomile tea cooled and used as hair rinse).

As well as buying quality shampoos containing these ingredients, you can

create your own combinations of remedy or remedies to soothe your scalp.

You can also help it along by using natural remedies to treat your scalp such as this scalp treatment containing natural oils to assist healing, detoxify and stimulate hair growth: (Add to

water (4 parts water 1part oil) and spray onto scalp and you can add to your shampoo and conditioners also).

Oils To Relieve Itching: Lavender, German Chamomile and Eucalyptus Oils

(Mixed together and dabbed locally on effected areas has a soothing effect).

Neem oil is also a very good dandruff preventative which can be added to any of the formulas detailed below and is excellent for psoriasis and eczema & scalp infections.

Scalp massage with lavender oil (not scented – the real oil) is another

wonderful way to relieve the tension from a sore scalp as well as treat the

issue. It also helps to re grow hair and repair the damage done to your

follicles by chemicals in shampoos causing thinning hair. (Lavender is known to stimulate hair growth too).

There are many more powerful scalp remedies you can use to treat your scalp as well as many shampoos that are excellent value, contain no nasties to aggravate your scalp and hair follicles. It can be really simple to treat scalp problems by treating yourself to your own pampering session using natural oils to help heal your scalp infection. And then be kind to your hair and scalp by using only products that nourish your hair and scalp such as Aveda or Akin brand shampoos. You can assist the healing process and help restore balance back to your scalp and you hair will appreciate and reward you for it too by becoming less brittle, stronger and shinier.

As with all natural remedies please patch test first. It is not intended for this information to replace a doctors medical advice, so please see your doctor for diagnosis and treatment. The responsibility of obtaining doctors diagnosis and using remedies is yours.

The True Cause Of Allergies – It’s In The Liver

I used to be allergic and asthmatic. Allergy shots and allergy treatments from age 6 to age 16 made me into a spacey human pin cushion. Inhalers and medications were kept in every corner of my life. I remember going to the emergency room one Christmas Eve for adrenaline. My asthma was life-threatening at times.

I asked every Doctor I was sent to:

“Why is it dogs and cats make me sneeze and wheeze, but it doesn’t make my best friend sneeze and wheeze? What’s the difference between us?

When the experts couldn’t answer I kept asking myself that question. Even my more basic question went unanswered:

If medication gives my body what is missing, why is it my body can’t do the same?

Fortunately I was too young to listen to authority figures and entered a search for a cause, and a cure. I started to take herbs, vitamins, and anything that offered a ray of hope.

After many failed herb, vitamin, and natural experiments I got lucky….

In 1977, at the age of 19 I was introduced to a Doctor in Utah by an older friend who was interested in nutrition. This man was said to be a premier Biochemist, Herbalist and Healer. Hundreds of people followed the guy around, and although he was criticized by those wanting to discredit him I spoke with many, many people who had experienced tremendous health benefits.

When I met “Doc” he told me the following:

There are three things causing your allergies:

#1 Your Liver is overproducing histamines because it has too many toxins

#2 Your thyroid is low, and that sets the rate of the liver

#3 Your adrenal glands and lungs are weak (that was no surprise to me but until then I didn’t know what to do)

    This made total sense because:

I knew about “anti-histamines” because I had taken them to stop allergic responses

One of my symptoms – hard to wake up in the morning – matched the low thyroid symptoms.

My inhaler at the time was epinephrine – an adrenaline-like substance

Within 3 months of being treated with herbs he gave me to detox my liver, and herbs/nutrients to build my lungs and support my adrenal and thyroid, I was allergy and asthma free. That was 30 years ago, and I have been allergy/asthma free ever since.

(I’ll say this to keep myself out of jail- take your medication until your doctor tells you otherwise, and/or if you decide to find a natural cure as I did. Be advised that you’ll meet a lot of resistance from Doctors and even many asthmatics who believe natural cures are impossible. Sad, but true.)

    Here’s The Picture:

The Liver has to process toxins and when it can’t do it’s job it stores them. If it stores them it also produces additional histamines to protect itself. If an allergen is present the brain sends a message ;”Send out a few histamines! I think there’s an invader!!” and the Liver proceeds it releases too many, and you have the allergic response – hives, asthma, sneezing, etc..

Cleanse the Liver and maybe, like me, you’ll become allergy/asthma free.

How Light Pollution Can Affect the Environment

We have all heard of water pollution and air pollution. Furthermore, most people would not argue the fact that they are indeed a problem. However, light may be the only source of pollution that is overlooked by the average consumer. That may be because the average person does not think “light” when the word pollution comes up in the news or in conversation. After all, it is just light right? No, it is actually not that simple. Light pollution is defined as the lightening of the night sky due to artificial light being scattered about, it is also known as sky glow. Unnecessary light not only wastes massive amounts of electricity, but it adversely affects wildlife as well.

Light pollution, also called sky glow, is defined as light wastefully escaping into the night sky and causing a glow over urban/suburban areas. It also refers to light that is

being refracted in the surrounding atmosphere. This refraction is strongly related to the wavelength of the light. Rayleigh scattering, which makes the sky appear blue in the daytime, also affects light that comes from the earth into the sky and is then redirected to become sky-glow, seen from the ground. As a result, blue light contributes significantly more to sky-glow than an equal amount of yellow light. Sky glow is of particular irritation to astronomers, because it reduces contrast in the night sky to the extent where it may even become impossible to see the brightest stars.

So, what kind of lighting is harmful? The truth is that there are indoor and outdoor lighting that can be harmful in the long run. Research has been being done on the subject for years and it is well known that indoor fluorescent lighting can cause many health problems such as migraine headaches, fatigue, irritability and many other health conditions. But as for the outdoor environment, nighttime security lighting poses the biggest threat in terms of light pollution. Moreover, studies have shown that outdoor security lighting does not reduce crime, and uses approximately 800 pounds of coal each year per light. Have you ever looked up into the sky at night only to see a haze of dim light? This is the perfect example of light pollution. Researchers have been studying this problem for years and have produced actual photographs of landmasses, cities and rural areas around the world at nighttime. The results spoke for themselves; nighttime light is definitely a problem.

Light that is considered annoying, wasteful or harmful causes damage to the environment and health, as do other forms of pollution. Some indoor and outdoor lighting are considered harmful in the long run, It is well known that indoor fluorescent lightning can cause many health problems such as migraine, headaches, fatigue, irritability and many othe health conditions. Approximately 800 pounds of coal each year is wasted on per light. Outdoors, light pollution harms nocturnal wildlife.

Constant lighting could destroy crops, trees and even wildlife. Plants depend on the cycle of light and dark for proper growth. The onset of darkness is crucial to the flowering and reproduction process. Birds have been known to fly into towers and windows at night due to the confusion caused by nighttime lighting. The fact that night should be dark in not always the case nowadays. In some places like Las Vegas, you cannot even tell

if it is night or day because the billions are so bright you feel like you are in another dimension.

Life existed in fixed natural cycles of light and dark, so disruption of those patterns influence many aspects of animal behaviour. Light pollution confuses animal navigation, alter competitive interactions, change predator-prey relationships and influence animal physiology. Studies suggest that light pollution around lakes prevents zooplankton from eating surface algae, causing algal blooms that kill off the lake’s plants and lower water quality. Nighttime light also interferes with the ability of moths and other nocturnal insects to navigate. Night blooming flowers that depend on moths for pollination will be affected by night lighting. This leads to species decline of plants that are unable to reproduce and change an area’s long-term ecology.

Lights on tall structures disorient migrating birds. The number of birds killed after being attracted to tall towers is estimated to be from 4-5 million per year. The fatal Light Awareness Program (FLAP) works with building owners in Toronto, Canada and other cities to turn off lights during migration periods to reduce the mortality of the birds.

Contrary to misconception, sea turtle hatchlings are not attracted to the moon. Rather, they find the ocean by moving away from the dark silhouette of dunes and their vegetation, a behaviour that artificial lights interfere with. Lights may also disorient young seabirds as they leave their nests and fly out to sea.

Nocturnal frogs and salamanders are also affected. Since they are nocturnal, they wake up at night. Light pollution causes salamanders to emerge from concealment later, giving them less time to mate and reproduce.

So to do your part for the environment, make sure that your exterior lighting is ordinance compliant lighting. By this, is meant that only light the ground beneath them and never shine across onto a neighboring property or into the night sky. Secondly, by making sure that your outdoor lights are only on when needed. Dusk to dawn lighting is to be strictly avoided. Thirdly, reduce the wattage of your bulbs. The human eye is remarkable in its ability to adapt to the amount of light present. Too much light can be overwhelming and glaring, actually reducing visibility. Even a small reduction in wattage will reduce light pollution.

Lester Levenson’s Advice on Depression and How to Stop It Before It Starts

The World Health Organization reports that every 40 seconds, someone commits suicide. 800,000 people take their lives. That’s more than wars and natural catastrophes. There is a lot of talk lately about depression and suicides of stars like Robin Williams. Why would a brilliant and successful guy like him take his own life? What would get someone to that point? What was his mind doing at that moment that told him that was the only way to get relief form the haunting pain?

Lester Levenson, the creator of the KISS Releasing System and my teacher/friend for 11 years, had the best solutions for this. He was not only a fully realized Master, but was also a physicist and millionaire. He healed himself of terminal heart disease in 1952 at 42 and lived until 83. “The mind is the enemy”, he told me. What did he mean? It is this. The mind is like a million year old computer hard drive full of a lot of useless and infected files. It can never help us because IT is the problem. We look for answers there, but it will only make things worse. The mind is only a junkyard of the past. It is a recording/replaying machine that will not really help us. It sees the future as limited by what is stored there as our experience. Before I found and used KISS Releasing, I used to have long bouts of depression. I saw everything as dark and negative with ho hope whatsoever. It is extremely painful, and the hopelessness can drive you to end your life. I am sure this is what Williams was experiencing. His life long abuse of drugs an and cocaine exacerbated the issues.

Lester had this advice. 1. Learn KISS Releasing and use it every day. It will keep you out of depression and show the mind is lying to you. The 6 steps of KISS will keep the Truth in front of you. When we start believing the mind, we spin down into a mental vortex of negativity that we will have a hard time climbing out of. 2. Stay in the now. Depression always focuses on the past and the future and gets us into hopelessness. Both are illusions of the mind and are NOT true. Ask yourself if this is true, or is it a mind f_ck. You cannot change the past, but you CAN change your reaction to it now. 3. Read books by Masters and high spiritual people. It will keep you lifted so you can’t be sad. 4. Help others. Be as selfless as you can. You cannot be depressed when doing this. It’s impossible. “Selflessness is the greatest selfishness”, he said. 5. Exercise. It breaks resistance in your body and will lift you.

He told me the people who kill themselves will return and have to face the same problems again. So it’s not a solution, just a temporary escape. 6. Lester said, “Love, love, love. You’ll be so happy, so healthy, and so prosperous.” When you are loving, it’s not possible to get depressed.

So there is a smart man’s answers for how to stay out of depression. I use it all the time, and it works

The History of Arachnophobia – Fear of Spider Phobia

Arachnophobia – the fear of spiders – is the largely ordinary animalphobia in addition to the least explainable. The general justification is an evolutionary approach: spiders are noxious and their bite is dangerous. If you strongly fear spiders, you may not plan to go anywhere where you possibly will bump into one.

Arachnophobia can be activated by means of the measly idea of a spider or still with a photograph of one, in various instances. A lot of folks who fear spiders suffer panic going into a place where spiders may be nearby. Arachnophobia is essentially a central and ancient fear intended for survival (alongside fear of heights and fear of snakes) and is tough to alleviate.

Bites from snakes and spiders caused a actual hazard to prehistoric women, whose offspring would have perished or faced adversity devoid of their mums. Many believe this is why females could be predisposed to fear the creatures.

Arachnophobia can be treated with conditioning, however that doesn’t imply that it is was created that way. Assuming its entirely genetic is as ridiculous as saying it is completely conditioned.

Arachnophobes will spare no attention to ensure that their location are spider-free, therefore they would have had a lower hazard of being bitten in prehistoric environments. For this reason, arachnophobes may well hold a minor benefit on non-arachnophobes in terms of continued existence.

Fear of spiders holds a lengthy history, since about the time of Jesus’ birth where areas of Abyssinia were deserted through the full populace because a effect of a ‘plague of spiders’. Amongst primeval peoples fear of spiders, countless African people show signs of a universal fear of sizable spiders most Amazonian Indians don’t. Fear Of Spiders is typically created through an intense damaging incident from your past. But that brain can also instigate that fear seemingly exclusive of foundation.

Arachnophobia is such a phobia and arachnophobia treatment is required to manage with the unforgiving fears related with the condition.

Panic Anxiety Attacks Can Be Deadly!

Why do some people experience panic anxiety attacks? People who do not understand this illness will think that it is the result of too much stress or nervousness. However, this assumption is very wrong! It has been proven to be a serious medical condition, where victims could not actually control it. It is not a sign of weakness for having panic attacks so frequently.

Panic anxiety attacks may last for only minutes, but for some, it can last for hours! Some of the symptoms of panic attacks include intense fear, difficulty in breathing, shivering or shaking and heart palpitations. These symptoms may not all happen at once, but if the symptoms do happen on 2 or more occasions, you might already be experiencing panic and anxiety disorders.

Today, there are many treatments that can help anyone suffering from panic anxiety attacks. One should not be ashamed to seek professional help if they are suffering from panic attacks, as it is always better to seek treatment on the earlier stage than waiting for the conditions to worsen, as it might just get more difficult to totally cure the attacks.

Here are one of the simple steps you can follow to control panic anxiety attacks. First, you can do some breathing exercise. With the right way of breathing, you can gradually control the frequency of your panic attacks, and eventually totally get rid of it. Start by taking slow deep breaths. Next, hold it for five seconds and release it through your mouth.

    Pancreatitis and Alcohol

    How alcohol affects the Pancreas?

The heavy consumption of alcohol can be a triggering mechanism for pancreatitis. Nobody thinks about how alcohol is affecting their pancreas until they end up admitted to the hospital with an attack of acute pancreatitis. If you or a loved one has been recently released from the hospital after a case of acute pancreatitis, you probably have some questions about what role alcohol can play in your life going forward.

Your first question is probably, “Is it still possible for a person to consume the same amounts of alcohol as before the pancreatitis attack?” The answer is no. An initial attack of acute pancreatitis puts a person at a much higher risk of developing chronic pancreatitis if they continue drinking any alcohol at all. Chronic pancreatitis is a terrible disease that causes severe pain, indigestion, and other complications. Most importantly, chronic pancreatitis significantly increases the odds of being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The combination of pancreatitis and alcohol is a progressive, chronic, and frequently fatal disease.

You may be thinking to yourself, “Surely I can still drink a little alcohol. Doctors will be able to fix up my pancreas again if I have another attack of acute pancreatitis. I was fine after this first attack of pancreatitis.” Unfortunately, this reasoning is flawed.

There is presently no conventional medical treatment that can reverse or stop the main problems that are caused by chronic pancreatitis. These problems include minimized digestive enzyme production by pancreas and the dying of pancreatic cells. If you continue drinking any alcohol at all there is a significant chance that you will develop worsening of chronic pancreatitis.

The treatment of alcohol-induced chronic pancreatitis is a complicated process that calls that includes a variety of different alternative (non-drug, non-surgery) modalities from many different professionals. We will discuss treatments further down in the article.

    Information about Alcoholic Pancreatitis

Research shows that an overall increase in the consumption of alcohol can be linked to the increase in cases of acute pancreatitis. An attack of acute alcoholic pancreatitis is generally preceded by 5-10 years of prolonged over-consumption of alcohol. In the U.S. every year, 80,000 to 200,000 people have attacks of acute pancreatitis. The number of these people is increasing yearly. It is true that not all alcoholics develop pancreatitis. However, once an alcoholic has had at least one attack of acute pancreatitis alcohol in all forms is lethal to the pancreas.

Scientific research shows that the lifespan of an acute pancreatitis patient becomes contingent upon their ability to give up drinking. Patients unable to stop drinking alcohol frequently develop chronic pancreatitis, which destroys their pancreatic gland. It is therefore necessary for patients to stop drinking alcohol altogether.

    Am I an Alcoholic?

It is important to stop completely drinking after the first attack of acute pancreatitis. However, it is extremely difficult for alcoholics, as well as people in general, to give up completely alcohol. In fact, as observed through our long years of practice, it is almost impossible for an alcoholic to recover totally without the help of an experienced licensed practitioner. It sometimes even requires a team of practitioners.

It may be difficult for people to admit that they have an alcohol addiction. The results of the following self-test may be the unwelcome but necessary wake-up call that lets a person know that they have a problem.

Self Test for Alcoholism / Alcohol Abuse

The following test may help determine if you have a problem with alcohol:

    – Have you ever thought you should cut down on your drinking?

    – Have people annoyed you by criticizing your drinking habits?

    – Is it hard to stop drinking after you’ve had one or two drinks?

    – Have you ever felt bad or guilty about your drinking?

    – Have you ever had a drink first thing in the morning as a little “pick-me-up” to get rid of a hangover or to steady your nerves?

    – Have you ever had a problem remembering what you did during a drinking episode?

    – Have you ever encountered drinking-related problems with your health, relationships, job, or the law?

If you answered “yes” to one of the above questions, you might have a problem with alcohol. If you answered “yes” to two or more of the questions, it is highly probable that you have an alcohol abuse problem. Either way, it is important to schedule an appointment with an experienced licensed practitioner as soon as possible. Then you will be able to determine what sort of treatment would benefit you most.

    Treatment

Acute or chronic pancreatitis in an alcohol-addicted patient is a serious medical situation and requires an approach that utilizes the healing of both the body and the mind. The primary objective is not only to help a person quit drinking alcohol, but also to help him or her quit in a manner that does not harm their already sick pancreas.

For that reason, treating alcoholism must begin with basic detoxification. An experienced and licensed practitioner utilizes many methods while detoxifying the body:

    o Colon hydrotherapy,

o Restoring friendly intestinal flora (particularly after the use of antibiotics),

    o Specialized diets,

o Herbal teas and nutritional supplements,

o Drinking healing mineral water prepared by using Genuine Karlovy Vary Thermal Spring Salt.

After years of consumption, the brain becomes dependent on alcohol. Alcohol’s chemistry allows it to impact almost every cell in the body, including the cells of the central nervous system. That is why the second step for treating alcohol dependency is the normalization of brain chemistry. Brain chemistry normalization is achieved through practitioners’ skilled use of:

    o Nutritional supplements,

    o A special anti-alcohol diet,

o The addition of essential amino acids,

    o Herbs,

    o Magnet therapy,

    o Auricular acupuncture-NADA protocol,

o Regular acupuncture, and so on.

Subconscious positive programming, or hypnotherapy, is a third practice, which is common and successful when utilized to break an alcohol addiction. If the person cannot reach medical hypnotherapist or shy to do that, custom hypnosis CDs can be created to address the particular needs and problems. Then the person can listen to the CD in the privacy of their own homes for as long as needed, and as many times as needed.

It is just as important to help heal the negative affects that alcohol has had on peoples’ bodies. The long-term combination of pancreatitis and alcohol wreaks havoc on the body, causing an unhealthy acidity and a deficiency of trace elements and minerals. This is required an acid-alkaline balance normalization of the body. People are able to nourish and normalize their bodies by Karlovy Vary Healing Mineral Water (available in the U.S.), nutritional supplementation, and a specialized diet. This combination goes far in allowing the pancreas to recover from both pancreatitis and alcohol abuse.

Through utilizing the four steps listed above a person will be able to heal many of the unwanted symptoms of alcohol-related chronic pancreatitis, such as pain, gas, bloating, indigestion, depression, mood swings, sexual dysfunctions, insomnia, and many other gastrointestinal complaints.

Most people find that breaking free from alcohol addiction is not easy, even when that addiction to is literally destroying their health, their relationships, and other important components of their lives. The most important thing to remember is that recovery from alcohol addiction is possible.

This recovery can add many wonderful, healthy years to a person’s life.

Causes and Care of Foot Swelling

Our feet take a beating each day, and we often neglect them until it is time to make sure they are looking good for flip flop or sandal season when the weather gets nice each spring. Your feet can tell you more about your health than you think, and if you are going through a period of foot swelling, you may be wondering what is going on and what you can do to make it stop. Our feet take us everywhere, and they can also make it so that we can not move if there is a problem. Watch your feet for swelling and other problems so they don’t let you down.

One of the most common reasons for foot swelling is being on your feet all day. Many recommend that you buy shoes later in the day because feet can swell up to half a size (sometimes more) during the day. If you were to buy your shoes early in the day, they may not fit well at night, making your feet hurt when you wear them. Swelling is normal as long as you don’t see too much of a difference day to day. Put your feet up when you can and the swelling will go down throughout the night while you rest. This foot swelling is normal, as long as it is normal for you.

You can also experience foot swelling during pregnancy. This is why so many women can not wear their normal shoes near the end of their pregnancy. Foot swelling during pregnancy can start as soon as the second trimester, so don’t be shocked when it starts happening to you. Again, put your feet up and give them a rest when you can to reduce this swelling. If your swelling seems severe, and goes up your legs, you may want to see your doctor. Excess swelling of the feet and legs signals a complication with your pregnancy that may require immediate medical attention.

If you require an IV for any reason, foot swelling can occur. Slow IV that is only run once may not do much to your feet, but if you get IV antibiotics, for example, you could end up with feet that you don’t even recognize. This is normal, and your doctor or nurse should warn you that this may happen. The fluid has no where to go, but your body will work it out overnight or within a few days. If this does not happen, consult with your doctor about what you should do about your foot swelling problem.

When your feet swell out of nowhere for no reason that you can see, you should be seen by a doctor. For some reason your body is not flushing out fluids like it should, which may be a simple problem or it could be something more serious. If your foot swelling is not typical for you, and they do not go down within a few hours, try putting them up while you put a call into your doctors office. Hopefully it is a freak occurrence, but you should make sure you have it checked out. Foot swelling is usually nothing to worry about, but it can signal a bigger problem.

How to Avoid a Pedicure Disaster

Mary’s daughter was getting married. So as a last minute surprise she took her daughter and all of the bridesmaids out for an outing to get pampered at a nail salon. But just before the wedding, the bride and all her attendants developed big black draining sores all over their lower legs and ankles. So how can you make sure your nail salon is safe and avoid this sort of pedicure disaster?

As a podiatrist, I get lots of questions about the relationship between pedicures, foot fungus and infections. But the most passionate discussions seem to revolve around pedicures. I even remember one of my instructors in medical school telling all of us medical students to warn our patients to avoid salon pedicures. But we have to be realistic. Women love to be pampered and a pedicure is a great way to relax, and feel special. You just have to know the risks associated with nail salon infections and follow some simple rules to keep your pedicure experience safe.

If you don’t think pedicures can be dangerous, you must not watch the news. In September of 2000, 110 people were infected during an outbreak in a nail salon in the San Francisco Bay Area. Within days of the soothing foot bath and pedicure, pimple-like bumps appeared. These little bumps got worse and turned into red or black pus-filled sores. Many of these women got permanent scarring on their legs as a result.

In 2004 there was another outbreak only miles south of San Francisco in which pedicure-related infections were identified in 143 pedicure customers linked to 33 different nail salons in Santa Clara County. In 2005 there was yet another outbreak of infections related to nail salons involving 17 people.

A pedicure lawsuit was born after a Mountain View California woman died after a bacterial infection allegedly contracted from a pedicure in 2004. A similar case in Fort Worth, TX involved a 46 year-old woman who allegedly contracted an antibiotic-resistant infection and eventually died from the staph infection. On shocking study conducted in Arizona in 2009 showed that 181 nail salon establishments agreed to pay fines to settle health code violations in the Tucson area alone.

Although the statistics and headlines can be alarming, you should know that not all pedicures lead to infections. There are laws and professional guidelines that help nail salon workers protect you from infections and the spread of disease during a pedicure.

The first thing you should do when you visit a nail salon is look around. Use a little common sense. If you go to a restaurant and see flies buzzing around the kitchen, would you still eat there? Does your nail salon look clean? Do you see health and safety rules posted in the waiting area? This is one of the most common reasons for citations in California nail salons during state inspections. Lets face it, if they can’t follow the simple rules, would you really trust them to sterilize instruments or meticulously clean the massage chair or foot bath?

Next, ask some questions. Are all of your nail technicians licensed? If they are licensed you can be sure they have at least taken a test about ways to decrease the spread of nail infections. Unsanitary practices are common, but less likely in nail salons that follow the rules.

Ask them how they disinfect their instruments. Do they re-use any disposable instruments. This is a real no-no. Re-using disposable instruments is an easy way to spread fungus and bacteria from one foot to another.

How do they clean the foot bath? Most of the really contagious infections involved a germ called mycobacterium. It lives in water and can grown on the dead skin and hair that gets stuck in a little filter inside the foot bath motor. If the salon staff can’t tell you quickly the exact protocol for cleaning the foot bath, you may be soaking your feet in an alphabet soup of infection causing bacteria.

Look for labels and covers on all containers. If you don’t see clear labels such as “dirty,” “clean,” “water,” “disinfectant,” etc., don’t expect the workers to always grab the clean ones when working on your feet. Lids on the containers may not seem like a big deal, but all of those infection causing fungal spores and bacteria can float through the air from that nasty yellow toenail in the chair next to you and then settle right on the cuticle pusher the nail tech is about to use on you.

Watch for hand washing. Doctors and nurses wash hands before and after every patient contact. Simply washing hands is one of the best ways to prevent a contagious infection from spreading. Your nail tech should do the same. While you are waiting for your turn in the pedicure chair, just watch and see if the nail technician washes her hands or just changes gloves between clients.

Ask them if they ever fix ingrown toenails. If the answer is yes, you may be putting yourself at risk. Ingrown toenails are often teeming with infection-causing bacteria. And you don’t want to be sitting in the pedicure chair following a pus-filled ingrown nail. Only licensed podiatrists (foot doctors specializing in feet and toenail surgery) should be working on these. Just cutting out the corner or the ingrown nail has many risks and is illegal when performed during a nail salon pedicure. Once you have found a clean, reputable nail salon, don’t shave your legs before you get a pedicure. The one risk factor that links pedicures to horrific infections is open wounds. If you shave less than 48 hours before your pedicure, you create invisible little cuts in the skin that allow bacteria to get in. If you shaved your legs the morning of your pedicure, you can still get your toenails done, but you should avoid the foot soak.

Keep in mind that there are lots of safe, comfortable places for you to get a pedicure. You just need to ask a few questions so that you can feel sure you will leave the salon with pretty, soft, pampered feet… and not with an nasty infection.
