These symptoms have been linked to an overgrowth of a common fungal organism known as Candida albicans – a fungus that is normally present on the skin and in the mucus membrane such as the vagina. mouth and rectum. The fungus can also travel through the blood stream and affect the intestines, throat and even the heart valves. Candida albicans becomes an infectious agent when there is some change in the body environment that allows it to grow out of control. Found in each one of us as a part of our intestinal flora. The problems arise when we eat too much sugar, take antibiotics for a period of time, or have a weakened immune system.

All these factors can ultimately lead to Candida infection, a condition that plagues so many people worldwide, yet most of them are unaware of it due to the lack of information presented in the mainstream media.

The good news is that this condition can be treated! If you are showing signs of a yeast infection there are several highly effective proven probiotic Candida Treatments available.

A big advantage of the probiotic products is that you don’t have to stick to a strict diet when using them and they don’t give the nasty side effects that conventional treatments can.

Candida Die off Symptoms;

Being on an anti-candida diet or taking anti-fungal (Candida) treatments will eventually cause Candida cells to “die-off”.

This is a good thing because it is a sign that the Candida Yeast is actually dying but, the down side is that the dying cells of Candida may release toxins in high amounts and as a result, you may end up feeling worse than you did before you started your treatment. This is because the toxins are released often build up faster than the body can deal with via the natural elimination process. This ‘die off’ process is known as the Herxheimer Reaction. Common symptoms of Candida Die Off include;

• flu-like symptoms

• dizziness, brain fog

• headaches

• diarrhea or constipation

• skin rash

• sweating

These Candida Die Off Symptoms can last from one day to a week and can come and go as you continue your treatment.

There are ways you can ease the symptoms of Candida Die Off and these are outlined below.

How to Prevent Candida Die off

Chronic Candida can be quite difficult to remove from your body and it is likely that you will experience some of the symptoms of Candida Die-Off

.

A lot of these Candida Die-Off Symptoms can be avoided by following these guidelines:

• Drink plenty of purified water.

• include plenty of fibre in your diet.

• Taking Epsom salt or Baking Soda baths will help draw out the toxins.

• A sauna can help sweat out toxins.

• Increase the dosage of your anti-fungal supplements gradually according to your responses

• Take 2 activated charcoal capsules every six hours.

• Don’t eat anything that may feed the Candid Yeast while taking anti fungals, this will make die of symptoms a lot worse.

• Try a Colon Cleansing product to get rid of toxins more quickly.

When taking anti-fungals or any other method of beating Candida, you must go at your own pace and not overwhelm your body by trying to kill of the Candida Yeast too quickly. The more severe reaction doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re killing more yeast; it just means that your body is becoming overwhelmed, and that is not good for the healing process. Candida Die-Off Symptoms can be really frustrating but stay the course. Every day the body is ridding itself of Candida is another day closer to restoring good health.

Canine Allergies – Lasting Relief For Your Dog’s Itchy, Irritated Skin

Canine allergies are responsible for much of the chewing and itching of dogs everywhere. Just like people, dogs may be allergic to food ingredients, to pollens of grass, weeds and trees or to mold and dust mites in their environment.

Although there are many shampoos and sprays advertised to stop skin itching of dogs, these commercial products have limited effectiveness. They may provide some short term relief but if the source of the allergen is still present, the itch will quickly return.

Where your dog scratches and chews may help your veterinarian determine the source of the canine’s allergic reaction. Atopic dermatitis is an environmental allergy that is quite similar to human allergies. Dust mites, grass and tree pollen and other airborne particles are the cause of atopic dermatitis that affects almost 10% of dogs.

Symptoms of atopic dermatitis are paw licking and chewing, paws that appear reddened and tender, fur loss and an itch so persistent it interferes with the dog’s sleep. An effective medication is Atopica which can safely be used long term. Atopica does not contain steroids or cause drowsiness in the dog.

If your dog seems to be scratching his back and chewing the inside of his back legs he may be suffering from flea allergy dermatitis. The allergy is not to the flea itself but to the saliva release by fleas when they bite your dog. For dogs with flea allergy dermatitis it is not enough to kill the adult fleas on the dog but you must prevent new fleas from hatching and biting.

Triamcinolone is often prescribed by vets to treat inflammation and allergic disorders.

This is a corticosteroid and must be administered exactly as prescribed. When giving corticosteroids it is crucial not to stop the medication without a gradual reduction in the dosage. Triamcinolone is the generic name of the medication and may be prescribed as one of several brands such as Cortalone, Vetalog or TriAcet.

If your dog has food allergies the result will most often be itching in the anal area. It is estimated that one-third of dogs with symptoms of food allergies are less than one year old. However, food allergy dermatitis can appear at any age and may become a problem even in a dog that has eaten the same brand of dog food for months or years.

When canines suffer from a food allergy itching in the anal region may be accompanied by vomiting or diarrhea, skin rash and flatulence. Your veterinarian can test your dog to eliminate environmental causes of the allergy and determine if secondary allergic reactions are also a problem.

Dexamethasone is a synthetic corticosteroid that can have benefit effects but also may cause negative side effects. Dexamethasone is common used in veterinary medicine and is given by injection, inhalation or topically. When used as a topical treatment the solution may also include a miticide, antifungal or antibacterial to treat skin problems.

Corticosteroids can be life saving medications for your dog and used prudently will ease the symptoms of allergic reactions. Veterinarians often prescribe this treatment as a pill every other day. Corticosteroids depress the immune system and are not recommended for long term use. For canine allergies to tree and grass pollens, medications such as dexamethasone used short term provide fast, lasting relief.

For dogs that require longer term treatment for airborne allergies, Temaril-P may be prescribed by your vet. This anti-inflammatory drug contains a low dose of prednisone and can be taken over longer terms with less risk of side effects than found with full dose corticosteroid drugs. Temeril-P reduces the dog’s need to scratch which prevents sore or bare areas from developing. It is also often used to treat kennel cough or asthma like symptoms caused by canine allergies.

You may not be able to eliminate the allergens from your dog’s environment but there is a wide range of medications designed to ease or eliminate the symptoms of canine allergies.

Living With Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma And Fighting Depression

When living with non-Hodgkins lymphoma there are many ups and downs, mentally, physically, and spiritually on the road to surviving cancer. Here are a few of the do’s and don’ts that I’ve learned as time went on during and after my non-Hodgkins lymphoma diagnosis. If they helped me become a cancer survivor, intact, beating the odds, why couldn’t they help you? So here they are…

DO make sure you know and understand what your protocol is about while living with cancer, whether it’s non-Hodgkins lymphoma, or any other type of cancer, to help maintain a level of control and reduce depression on your road to becoming a cancer survivor.

DON’T assume someone will stay on top of your protocol for you. Even doctors make mistakes from time to time!

DO take medications that are intended to help cure you of cancer EXACTLY when scheduled. Sometimes depression can be medically induced, so be proactive, be on the offensive while battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

DON’T be careless when it comes to taking medications intended to aid in your end goal – surviving cancer. Missing a dose and doubling up the next time scheduled, or not taking it at all could take a major toll on your odds of surviving non-Hodgkins lymphoma, or any other cancer for that matter. That’s depressing!

DO make sure you stay focused on what is right with your life while living with cancer, even in the midst of the non-Hodgkins diagnosis, and throughout the protocol. Optimism, positive thinking, love, and humor all help to lessen depression, and make all the difference in the world when working toward becoming a cancer survivor.

DON’T dwell on the misery, the unknown, and the “I should have(s)” in life. Actually, all the word “should” does is induce guilt, whether living with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, or otherwise. Moreover, being negative while living with cancer is draining, both physically and mentally. And shutting loved ones out of your life during such a difficult time could be lonely and depressing!

DO make sure you get up in the morning, take a shower, get dressed, and if possible try to get some fresh air to help prevent depression. And remember, beauty comes from the inside out. People who truly care about you do not love you for your hair; they love you for the whole person you are. Cancer, including non-Hodgkins lymphoma, does not have the power to take away true love.

DON’T stay in your pajamas and robe all day. When you look good you feel good. And when you look happy, confident, and optimistic about your life, you look good… not depressed!

DO get busy LIVING when diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Face it head on! Deal with it in the best way you know how, keeping in mind that it’s always a good idea to ask for help whenever you feel depressed. Always remember to take another step onward, and with a smile. You CAN THRIVE while living with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, or any other type of cancer. Surround yourself with positive people and positive feelings. By doing so positive energy will come your way. You CAN be happy living with cancer. The choice is yours!

DON’T wait for the non-Hodgkins lymphoma protocol to end before you start living life once again. Do not let a cancer diagnosis or depression keep you from moving forward. Your dreams and goals may have to be reprioritized; nevertheless, keep your eye on your goal – surviving cancer. Don’t choose misery over happiness! If you allow misery to take over than there will be many great experiences you might have missed, and remarkable people you could have had the chance to meet. Time doesn’t stand still while you’re living with cancer, why should you??!! Do not give non-Hodgkins lymphoma the power to keep you from living your life to its fullest!

The Secret Causes of Gerascophobia Or Fear of Growing Old

Many people these days have a phobia. And one of the most common phobias that you may encounter is the fear of growing old or also called as gerascophobia. You might be confused once searching for this type of phobia as it might also be referred to as gerontophobia.

Although it is very common, you may think that it is very odd as to why someone should fear aging. Is there any basis for this fear? The truth of the matter is that there could be two reasons for this fear.

All the reasons are based from anxieties. One is the anxiety of being left alone. As most people notice these days, older people are already being left to nursing homes. Being away from their families, most of them feel very depressed because of their current situation. People who have developed the fear of growing old do not like to experience the same.

The next reason that people who have gerascophobia is lack of resources. Getting old will make people weak. Losing one’s ability to work will make someone lose some of their finances as well. Not being able to buy what they want and to support their basic necessities may also cause this phobia.

In addition, getting weak because of old age adds fear because the person cannot take care of themselves anymore. This means that they would have to be taken care of by other people. Humans, being people of pride, will resent the thought that they would be other person’s burden.

These are the bases of gerascophobia. The fear of growing old will definitely strike a lot of questions among other individuals who for the first time have heard this problem. However, people who are starting to feel this problem should be able to get some help from professionals in order to address this issue properly.

7 Things You Are Unaware of That Can Cause Depression, Anxiety and Panic Attacks!

Most of us go through life unaware of the various reasons that cause the many ailments that plague us… take snoring for example; are you aware that you can actually become mentally or physically ill by just sleeping next to someone who snores? Ah… it could also happen to you if you are fond of missing breakfast! I bet you didn’t know this. This article will discuss 7 things that you might be unaware of that causes your depression, anxiety and panic attack…

1. Eating Large Sizes Of “Crap”

We no longer dish out correct portion sizes during meal time because we have become so used to the so-called super-sized meals that those take-away shops and fast food joints offer. It doesn’t help that the restaurants also serve large helpings of pasta and the like too. You are not starving your family if you serve proper portions during meal. Re-learn it if you must.

2. Inadequate Community Time

We have become so busy in today’s world that we no longer have time to leisurely spend with members of our community; we no longer engage in community group activities like; walking clubs, or book clubs, or playing a sport like street basketball or football (soccer). You must realize that not creating time for activities that allow you interact with members of your community is a surefire way of developing depression, anxiety and panic attack.

3. Depriving Yourself Of The Goodies

In one simple word; Don’t! Yes, I know you are suppose to watch what you eat and all that, and you should, but get this; the occasional “pig-out” – be it a coffee binge or a steak binge is okay (in fact advised) – just don’t overindulge or do this regularly, it is a once-in-a-while event. Food cravings are caused by food deprivation and you don’t want to be craving anything.

4. Inadequate Intake Of Fruit & Fibre

As an adult you ought to eat like one – don’t eat like a child! It will surprise you the number of adults who actually don’t take fruits or fibres at all. You want to ensure that you indulge in meals that contain these like; oats, fish, beans, eggs and the like. Eating the above will prevent depression, anxiety and panic attack from affecting your life.

5. Sedentary Work

Exercise is swell for your body but even more importantly you need to engage in sedentary work – little bits and pieces of movement which we ought to engage in daily. These movements help keep up our metabolic rate. This is especially useful if you are like me who spends quite a lot of time in front of the PC.

6. Don’t Believe Every Myth You Hear

Myths and legends are a part of human lore. You probably grew up on stories about heroes and so on. But you must make it a point of duty not to believe every myth you are told! What do I mean by “myths” in this context? Well, out there are many so-called “Doctors”, you know “MDs” – these guys spew out all sorts of crap from their mouths. I’ll give you an example; A doctor told his patient that it was okay for him to accompany his meal with a huge glass of vegetable juice. Reason? Well, he said that there would be a zero calorie count since the drink went straight into the patient’s bloodstream!

Or check out this one; Almonds contain what these Doctors call “negative calories”. The truth is this; there is no food anywhere in the world which contains “negative calories.” Morale of the story; don’t believe the myths if you want to avoid depression, anxiety and panic attack.

7. Beware Of “Hidden Calories”

Do you really take the time to investigate what’s in the food you eat? What is its composition, what is it made up of? I bet you don’t – I may be wrong but most of us do not. Hidden calories are probably the worst culprits where depression, anxiety and panic attacks are concerned because not knowing the composition of what you ingest can cause you to experience these nasty conditions. Example; the so-called energy drinks that are suddenly so popular mostly contain a high level of caffeine. Stay away from these and other foods that contain hidden calories if you aim to escape suffering depression, anxiety and panic attack.

Side Effects Of Folic Acid

There are some side effects of Folic Acid that you should be aware of. While they rarely occur you need to identify them so that you can see your doctor about reducing the amount you take or stop taking it all together. The side effects can be mild or severe. Mild side effects include are nausea, loss of appetite, bloated abdomen, flatulence, bitter taste, insomnia or difficulty concentrating. Your doctor will likely reduce the amount of Folic Acid you take and monitor the results closely.

If you are experiencing severe side effects to Folic Acid such as difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of your lips, tongue or face, or hives then you need to see immediate medical attention and stop taking the Folic Acid. Other side effects that have been noted include fever, general weakness or discomfort, reddened skin, shortness of breath, skin rash or itching, and wheezing and they can vary in severity.

The University of Maryland reports that the instances of having a side effect from Folic Acid is rare but if you take a large dose of 15,000 mcg or more you may experience stomach pain, disrupted sleep patterns, skin reactions, and seizures. According to the Encyclopedia of Alternative Medicine, Folic Acid is very safe in doses of 5,000 mcg or less. It is the larger doses that cause the side effects including nausea, decreased appetite, bloating, gas, decreased ability to concentrate, and insomnia to occur. If you suffer from seizures a large dose of Folic Acid will affect the effectiveness of the common medication Phenytoin, also known as Dilantin.

If you take Folic Acid, you should add a supplement of B Vitamins, especially 12, because the Folic Acid can lead to a deficiency. While the side effects from Folic Acid rarely occur, the risk is higher if you have a Vitamin B deficiency. If you experience any of these symptoms while taking Folic Acid, make sure you talk to your doctor so action can be taken.

Whey Protein Causing You Lower Back Pain?

If you recently began taking whey protein and you are noticing a pain in your lower back, you’re not alone. I first began supplementing back in high school. Like many folks, I wanted to gain muscle mass, and bulk up. Everyone wants to feel good about themselves, and like most guys, I wanted the those big muscles to impress the ladies with. Coach always told me, “no pain, no gain,” and I guess he was right. When I began to supplement with whey, I noticed a slight sensation of pain in my lower back region. After a few days, this pain intensified to an indescribable level. If this has happened to you, then you know what I am talking about.

After talking to my friend, Sean, a personal trainer, he told me about how I may be experiencing kidney problems, because of the protein powder that I was supplementing with. After discussing a number of different possibilities, he finally asked me how much water I was drinking, while I was supplementing with protein. I told him that I was drinking 8 glasses of water a day. That’s when he knew there was a problem.

Supplementing with whey protein seems to be totally safe, unless you don’t follow a few common guidelines. In fact, there are 3 simple guidelines that you should follow, and drinking water is definitely one of those guidelines. We’ll talk about why you and I are experiencing lower back pain, due to kidney overdrive, in just a moment. First, let’s discuss 3 rules you must follow, while supplementing with whey protein.

1. Use as directed. Never intake more whey protein than what’s recommended on the bottle.

2. Drink double your recommended intake of water. 8 glasses would become 16 glasses. You will especially want to drink more water on training days.

3. Not a meal replacement. Supplement with a meal. Never use whey as a meal replacement.

Like many of you who have decided to take whey protein, I also once decided to begin taking it. As long as you follow the above rules, you will be fine. When you start bending rules 1 and 2, especially, you will begin to overwork your kidneys. Ultimately, it’s noted that whey protein could possibly be linked to kidney stones. If you have lower back pain, stop taking whey protein until the pain subsides. If you’re currently in pain, you will want to drink some water. This will help the pain subside. If you decide to begin supplementing again, be sure to always follow the 3 rules above, for your own well-being.

Folliculitis Treatment For All 4 Types

Folliculitis is a terrible disease to contract. Chances are you are reading this because you are looking for answers. You know then that there are four causes and the treatment options are mostly prescription medications. The 4 categories of folliculitis are bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic.

It is not Acne; it is called Folliculitis, which is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles occurring anywhere on the skin. The common symptoms are a rash, itching and pimples or pustules near a hair follicle on the neck, groin or genital area.

Some day to day things to change to reduce the incidence of Folliculitis is to reduce friction from clothing, avoid shaving or use a new, clean razor each time you shave. You may want to sterilize the razor. Lastly do your best to keep the area clean and avoid clothing and washcloths that could be contaminated.

As has been mentioned there are different types of Folliculitis and the current treatment used, they are:

Bacterial Folliculitis

Bacterial Folliculitis is a result of one of the types of the Staphylococcus bacteria, Pseudonomas, Proteus or Coliform bacteria getting under the skin by some break in the skin and infecting a hair follicle. Once the bacteria are trapped under the skin it is possible for it to spread to other parts of the body.

The types of Folliculitis caused by bacteria are “Hot Tub” Folliculitis and Gram-Negative Folliculitis. Superficial Folliculitis, also known as Impetigo, consists of pustules but the infection can go deeper into the skin causing pain and pus. These can often result in scarring to the skin.

Superficial Folliculitis often responds to a topical antibiotic like Mupirocin or fusidic acid ointment. The cases where the Folliculitis has gone deeper into the skin require broad-spectrum antibiotics like cephalosporins, macrolides, or fluoroquinolone. Lancing is required to drain carbuncles and furuncles if they do not drain on their own.

Fungal Folliculitis

Fungal infections are either superficial or deep and can even spread to the blood or internal organs. Three categories of functions are common in the body; Dermatophytic Folliculitis, Pityrosporum Folliculitis and Candida Folliculitis.

Dermatophytic Folliculitis is caused by a fungal species and the severity of the infection will be directly related to the depth of fungal penetration in the hair shaft. Athlete’s Foot and Jock Itch are both conditions caused by Ringworm, which are well-known types of this condition. Unsightly pustules of various sizes are present filled with pus and it is common that there will be a loss of the hair shaft. It is not uncommon for there to be scarring in cases of bad folliculitis. If the penetration into the skin is deep there may also be pain, fever and permanent hair loss. Griseofulvin and Terbinafine HCl are used as treatment options that produce good results.

When yeast is able to enter a hair follicle and reproduce causing an itchy skin eruption it is known as Pityrosporum Folliculitis. It can be effectively treated with a topical antifungal medication.

Candida Folliculitis is caused by the Candida fungus and is the most common in infecting people. This is best treated with Itraconazole, a broad-spectrum antifungal agent.

Viral Folliculitis

This is an infrequent infection of the hair follicle by a virus such as the herpes simple virus or herpes zoster virus. They are treated by the use of oral antihistamines or surgical removal.

Parasitic Folliculitis

Parasites cause Folliculitis when they burrow their way into a hair follicle to live there or lay eggs. Two mites, Demodex Folliculorum and Demodex Brevis are natural hosts of the hair follicle. The most well-known form of this infection is Rosacea, which is commonly mistaken for as acne. A course of treatment would be the use of a topical Permethrin cream like Elimite or Acticin, systemic Ivermectin or Itraconazale.

3 Essential Oils Used in Hot Stone Massage Therapy

The use of essential oils in massage therapy plays an important role in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness that comes from incorporating aromatherapy into massages. Aromatherapy has been used for ages to enhance the physical well-being of a person and has also been used in spiritual rituals. The effect of smell on the mind and the emotions has medical and scientific basis.

Hot stone massage has also been practiced for centuries although it was revived in its present form by Arizona massage therapist, Mary Nelson who trademarked the LaStone therapy. Several versions of hot stone massage are practiced in different spas and the use of lubrication’s for aromatherapy is a favorite choice among massage therapists.

Some lubrication’s can be used alone and others need to be mixed, either with lighter lubrication’s or with massage oil to make it gentler on the skin. Lubrication’s are as varied as there are herbs and plants in the world. However, a few have been found beneficial and much easier to use.

1. Basil Essential Oil: this oil is an extract from the basil herb, which has a lot of medicinal properties. It has been used in Europe and Asia for centuries. In India, it is used mostly in the ancient Ayurveda practice. Basil essential oils has a lot of benefits to the skin. It is used in massage to enhance the luster of the skin, working on dull looking skin to make it more healthy looking and lustrous.

The benefits of Basil essential oil are numerous and include pain relief for conditions like arthritis, sports injuries, sprains and headaches. It is also improves blood circulation and has a calming soothing effect that works to cure stress and stress related disorders.

Because of the multi-faceted nature of basil oil, it is a great favorite amongst hot stone massage therapists.

2. Chamomile Essential Oil: this is another favorite among hot stone massage therapists and is widely popular in use during aromatherapy. Chamomile oil has calming and sedative properties and is used to calm the mind and soothe anxiety. It is also used to relieve pain tied to the nerves and for headaches. When used in massages, it should be diluted with a carrier oil.

3. Eucalyptus Essential Oil: Eucalyptus oil is an extract of the eucalyptus tree which is found primarily in Australia. As a oil, it is pretty new on the scene and its benefits are only being gradually discovered. Eucalyptus oil offers relief from pain in the muscles and joints and is usually recommended for people suffering from rheumatism, sprains and aches.

Eucalyptus oil has stimulating properties and is used to get rid of exhaustion and to rejuvenate the senses. It is also one of those lubrication that require a carrier oil because direct application of eucalyptus oil to the skin could cause irritation.

It should however be used with care especially when used on clients with high blood pressure and epilepsy. This is because eucalyptus oil has cooling properties and is usually used to bring down raging fevers. The sharp scent of the essential oil could also pose as a trigger asthma therefore people with asthmas should use it with care.

There are several essential oils that can be used for hot stone massages, which incorporate the use of aromatherapy. Each one has healing and soothing benefits and are highly recommended.

Reduced Penis Sensitivity – Why the Pleasure May Not Be Gone for Good

When sexual stimulation, whether performed solo or with a partner, does not feel as powerful and pleasurable as it should, this could be linked to a decrease in penis sensitivity. Here are some reasons for a lack of penis sensitivity, as well as tips on how to regain it. As an added benefit to following these suggestions, men may find that their overall penis health and performance improves substantially.

What Causes the Penis to Become Less Sensitive?

There are various factors associated with loss of penis sensation:

1. Injury to the Penis

Injury or trauma to the penis can harm its delicate skin, as well as the underlying nerve endings and circulatory tissue. A common cause of injury to the skin, as well as the nerves, is dry friction related to aggressive manual stimulation or intimate relations. Over time, this rough treatment can lead to bruising, as well as sore, tender skin that may develop a callused outer layer as a protective response. An easy way to deal with this issue is to use a lubricant and to allow time between sessions for the skin to recuperate.

Other types of penis injury, such as blunt force trauma, can cause additional problems and should be treated by a qualified health care professional, especially if the injury is accompanied by severe pain, bruising, bleeding, or an erection that will not dissipate. Following treatment of an injury like this, use of topical vitamin E is suggested, as it may help to limit the formation of scar tissue that can lead to painful bending and curving during erections.

2. Certain Medications

Some medications can hamper an individual’s desire for intimacy, not to mention the ability to enjoy it. Some of these include prescription medications administered for depression, anxiety or heart disease. The lack of sensation could include inability to climax or a decrease in pleasure during relations. This can be treated by consulting with a physician who can recommend an alternative medication. Men should never stop taking a prescription medication except under the advice and supervision of a qualified health care professional.

3. Dry Skin

The skin of the penis is very sensitive, but when it becomes dry or chafed, pleasurable sensations can be dulled. Excessive self-stimulation can lead to the penile skin developing a callused outer layer, which may diminish pleasure. This can be easily fixed by taking a break from rough or aggressive play and experimenting with more subtle forms of stimulation. Keeping the skin youthful and soft, and inhibiting the formation of keratinized tissue, can help to bring back pleasant sensations in the penis as well. A moisturizing cream with natural vitamins and emollients is a good way to keep the skin supple and soft.

Penis Health Creams and Sensitivity

A high-quality penis health cream containing natural emollients, as well as important sensation-boosting nutrients, can help to prevent loss of sensation and even restore diminished sensitivity in some men. Ingredients such as Acetyl L Carnitine can protect against nerve damage, while Vitamin E and Shea Butter are both important ingredients for hydrating the skin of the penis. By maintaining adequate moisture in the skin, men can avoid issues such as keratinization of the outer dermal layer, a process which can lead to loss of penis sensitivity.

Regular use of a penis vitamin cream (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) containing these nutrients, as well as other ingredients that benefit the skin and underlying tissue, may help to promote overall penis health, as well as encouraging the growth of healthy, supple and responsive skin. A cream like this should be applied daily, after a shower, to promote maximum absorption and ensure that the target area receives the full benefit.

Home Remedies for a Child’s Sinus Infection

In the United States if we give a look on The National Library of Medicine (NLM)’s reports, there are over 1 billion colds per year, with children averaging 3 to 8 colds per year. As we know Sinus infections are a common complication of colds, which commonly see in the children. Learning valuable information on natural home remedies for your child’s sinus infection can help her quickly recover.

Steam

The Nemours Foundation more intensive steam therapy by letting a hot shower run and sitting with your child in the bathroom two to four times per day.

Warm Washcloth

The NLM advises the use of a warm, moist washcloth applied to your child’s face.

Stay Hydrated

It can help loosen mucus secretions and allow them to be cleared from your child’s sinuses. Offer your child plenty of water and juices and remind her/him to drink throughout the day.

Ovarian Cystadenoma – What it is and What to Expect

If you have been diagnosed with an ovarian cystadenoma, you need to know what it is and what to expect next. A cystadenoma differs from a cyst in that it can grow much larger and it will require surgery to treat.

An ovarian cystadenoma is an abnormal growth that forms from ovarian tissue. Most of the time, these are not cancerous. However, left untreated, they can grow exceptionally large.

There are two types of cystadenomas: serous and mucinous. Serous, despite sounding like serious, are not as severe as mucinous. Serous cystadenomas are filled with a thin, watery liquid. They usually grow up to between two and six inches in diameter. Mucinous cystadenomas are filled with a sticky thick liquid. They grow much larger: between 6 and 12 inches in diameter. In rare cases, they have been known to weigh up to 100 pounds.

Cystadenomas are usually diagnosed using an ultrasound. If the doctor sees a large mass on your ovary, he may order an x-ray. This x-ray will determine if the cyst is filled with liquid or is solid, and will help the doctor determine if it could be a malignant tumor.

The treatment for an ovarian cystadenoma is to surgically remove it. If it is smaller, the doctor will perform a laparoscopy. This involves making a small incision in the lower abdomen and inserting a narrow tube called a laparoscope. This tube allows the doctor to see into your abdomen and remove smaller cysts.

If the cystadenoma is larger than 2 ½ inches in diameter, the doctor will need to do surgery. He will remove the cyst, and in some case, the ovary. If cancer is suspected, a total hysterectomy is usually performed.

One good thing about an ovarian cystadenoma is that they rarely come back. If it is removed completely, you are likely to never get another one. Even if you lose one ovary to a cystadenoma, you still have a chance of getting pregnant.

What Are the Symptoms of Acid Reflux?

The most common symptom of Acid Reflux is heartburn. Having heartburn does not mean you have reflux, it can also be caused by other ailments including a severe Candida yeast infection or overgrowth. A Candida infection can result in a wide range of problems including thrush, depression, skin irritations, heartburn and hemorrhoids.

It is possible to have Acid Reflux without suffering from heartburn, there are a range of other atypical symptoms that may occur.

Acid Reflux will generally occur after eating, it may take one or two hours for the symptoms to appear depending on what you have eaten, how much you have eaten and what you do after you eat. If you lie down, bend over or take part in physical exertion the reflux symptoms will worsen.

If you suffer from Acid Reflux symptoms more than twice a week, you may have GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) and you should seek medical advice. GERD is caused by damage to the esophagus when gastric contents are in contact with it over extended periods of time.

Heartburn

Heartburn is characterized by a burning or restless sensation behind the breastbone, the sensation can also extend into the throat and neck. The burning sensation is a result of the stomach contents moving up through the esophagus (pipe between you throat and stomach) and into the throat.

Around 75% of Acid Reflux sufferers will experience heartburn at night.

Heartburn has nothing to do with the heart.

Difficulty Swallowing

A burning sensation or pain can be felt in the throat when swallowing, the pain can become severe when swallowing food. This can also be accompanied by the sensation of a lump of food becoming lodged in the throat or chest. This is caused by damage to the membrane lining the throat and esophagus becoming damaged due to excess exposure to gastric acid.

Upset Stomach or Indigestion

Around 50% of reflux patients will suffer from an upset stomach, this can be characterized by pain and distress in the upper abdomen, nausea after eating a meal, excessive belching and the sensation of having a full stomach much earlier than expected.

Regurgitation

This is where the gastric contents (food, gastric acid and enzymes) flow back up into the pharynx (very back wall of the mouth) and sometimes even as far as the mouth. This is often accompanied by a bitter or sour taste in the mouth.

Asthmatic Symptoms

This is characterized by wheezing, coughing and sneezing. Breathing naturally is difficult. When you regurgitate, acid or acid fume can end up in your lungs, this results in asthma symptoms, this particularly occurs with people who suffer from asthma.

Hoarseness or Voice Harshness

Due to pressure on the vocal cord, your voice may sound harsh and you may face problems when you are talking and find yourself needing to clear you throat often. The wall of the throat can also become hardened if it has been regularly exposed to stomach acid.

Yellow Fluid or Stains on you Pillow

If you have reflux during the night you can wake up to find yellow fluid or stains on your pillow, the fluid is normally gastric acid.

Many of these symptoms on there on are just normal ailments that most of us tend to have at some time. Acid Reflux becomes apparent when there are enough symptoms to allow your doctor to diagnose it. Your doctor can have tests performed to confirm their diagnosis.

There are natural cures for Acid Reflux, simple changes in your diet are often enough to completely stop all the symptoms of Acid Reflux.

Please carefully check out the short and long-term side effects of taking antacids and other Acid Reflux medications, many of them can actually worsen your condition. The FDA has issued a safety warning on the long-term use of proton pump inhibitors, extended use can result in osteoporosis and increased risk of fractures.
