Scientifically Tested Olive Leaf Herb Is Known To Kill Every Virus And Germ Known To Man

What is the worst case scenario for the bird flu or just how bad could it get? A question I have always wanted the answer to. Well history is always the best teacher and we have an excellent historical teacher from 1918. The answer there is the bird flu of 1918, and that teacher is foreboding. Called the aquatic bird flu that actually started in China (sound familiar) then somehow got into Kansas not Europe. Isn’t that interesting? It started among US Cavalry horses then moved to American troopers assigned to those mounts, stationed in Kansas. These Cavalry soldiers were shipped to the battle fields of Europe to take part in the fighting. Some of those soldiers arrived infected with the virus. This flu circulated throughout the densely packed cities of Europe then made its way back to America and did the same there. In a little over a years time it had run its course and 40 to 50 million people were dead.

In 1918 the big cities like London had a million people. Today our mega cities have 10 plus million people and a very fast transport system. Any new bird flu virus can travel in infected people across the world in a matter of days.

Why can’t modern medicine help us?

Until the bird flu virus of today mutates to its human infecting form, no scientific steps can be taken to create a serum. Only then can science develop the serum and begin to make large batches. This takes considerable amounts of time and fertile chicken eggs and there are not many around. Under optimal conditions modern science takes at least 6 months, minimum. Remember I just said above, it only takes days to move the virus across the world. So even with all the pharmaceutical companies around the world creating this serum only a small part of the world’s population would be protected. I hate to make this sound worse, but the virus can also mutate into other human infecting forms and other serums must be developed.

The Herbal Solution to a Bird Flu Epidemic

You can see how bad it can get and how little modern medicine can do. There has really been little progress since 1918. So what can be done to protect yourself and your family? Here is the answer that has been around for ages. Olive leaf tincture is the answer to bird flu and all other germs and virus infections. But do not take my word for it, here is some of the history of this very powerful herb and what modern science found when they looked at it.

History of Olive Leaf as Herbal Medicine

I personally believe that God was referring to the olive tree in Ezekiel 47:12, God spoke of a tree: “The fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.”

The ancient Egyptians may have been the first to put the olive leaf to practical use. They regarded it as a symbol of heavenly power, and in keeping with that belief, they extracted its oil and used it to mummify their kings. The Egyptians and later cultures also found, and there is documentation, that the olive leaf was a great herbal medicine for the relief of fevers (sounds like viral infections to me).

The knowledge of the medicinal properties of the tree (Olea europaea) date back to the early 1800’s where it was used in liquid form as a very effective treatment for malarial infections. According to the 1854 Pharmaceutical Journal of Provincial Transactions, pages 353 and 354(a), the doctors at that time stated that the properties of the tree, Olea europaea, deserved more extensive investigation.

In the early 1900’s, a bitter compound was found in the leaves of certain olive trees called “Oleuropein.” This compound was determined to be part of the olive tree’s powerful disease resistant structure. In 1962, European researchers recorded that oleuropein had the ability to lower blood pressure in animals, increase blood flow in the coronary arteries, relieve arrhythmias and prevent intestinal muscle spasms. A Dutch researcher found the chemical responsible for olive leafs healing power was elenolic acid which has strong antiviral, bacterial and antiparasitic properties.

Modern Medicine Finds That Olive Leaf is a Powerful Medicine

In the late 60’s and early 70’s, The Upjohn Companies’ test studies were published by The American Society for Microbiology in regards to a new multifunctional monoterpene which they had isolated from various parts of the olive tree. The compound was called calcium elenolate, a crystalline salt form of elenolic acid. When they tested this compound it was found to be virucidal against all viruses for which it was tested. The compound acted effectively at low concentrations without any harmful influence on host cell mechanisms. It was also found to be extremely safe and nontoxic, even at high doses. While it worked extremely well in-vitro, it was unsuccessful in-vitro. When injected into the blood stream, the compound bound quickly to the blood serum protein and rendered itself ineffective. They were unable to overcome this problem and terminated their research. During this same period, other companies had interest in the compound and performed various tests, but also lost interest. Then in 1990, interest was renewed and the process of bringing the remarkable product Olive Leaf Extract to market began.

A safety study on calcium elenolate was laboratory tested with animals and published by The Upjohn Company in 1970. The study concluded that even in doses several hundred times higher than recommended, no toxic or other adverse side effects appeared..

Recent Australian studies show that liquid olive leaf extract made from fresh olive leaves has up to 40 times more antioxidants than even the very best extra virgin olive oils. This same fresh Olive Leaf Extract also has 5 times more antioxidant power than Vitamin C, 28 times more antioxidant power than Noni juices and 6 times more than Goji juices.

The Power of Olive Leaves

Effective against fever and helpful for nervous tension; great immune booster and viral/bacterial killer. Researchers credit a number of unique properties possessed by the olive leaf compound for the broad killing power: an ability to interfere with critical amino acid production essential for viruses, an ability to contain viral infection and/or spread by inactivating viruses or by preventing virus shedding, budding or assembly at the cell membrane, and the ability to directly penetrate infected cells and stop viral replication in the case of retroviruses. It is able to neutralize the production of reverse transcriptase and protease (an enzyme found in retroviruses that enable the virus to make DNA from viral RNA). These enzymes are essential for a retrovirus, such as HIV, to alter the RNA of a healthy cell. It can stimulate phagocytosis, an immune system response in which immune cells ingest harmful microorganisms and foreign matter.

Summary of conditions for which olive leaf extract acts as a microbial and anti-viral agent

AIDS Amoebiasis Anthrax Athlete’s Foot Bladder Infection Campylobacter Chicken Pox Chlamydia Cholera Common Cold Cold Sore (herpes simplex) Cryptosporidiosis Cytomegalovirus Diarrheal Disease Diphtheria Ear Infection Ebola Sudan Virus E. Coli Epstein-Barr Virus Flu (influenza) Gastric Ulcers (from H. Pylori) Genital Herpes/Warts Giardia Gonorrhea Group B Strep Hantavirus Hepatitis A, B, C Herpes Zoster (shingles) Lyme Disease Malaria Measles Meningitis (bacterial) Meningitis (viral) Mononucleosis Pinworms Pneumonia (bacterial) Pneumonia (viral) Polio Pork Tapeworm Rabies Rheumatic Fever Ringworm Retrovirus infection Roundworm Rotavirus Infection RSV Staphylococcal Food Poisoning Strep Throat Syphilis Tuberculosis Thrush Toxic Shock Syndrome Trichinosis Typhoid Fever Urinary Tract Infections Vaginal Yeast Infections

Die-Off Syndrome

There are no negative side effects with Olive leaf extract but it does have a healthy side effect called the Herxheimer or “Die-Off” effect. Here is what takes place during a die-off effect. In the body there are microbes or viruses that somehow manage to evade the body’s immune system. Upon exposure to olive leaf tincture these microbes and viruses are destroyed which is a good thing for the person. After the microbe virus death, their cell-wall proteins are absorbed through the weakened mucous membrane, which surrounds them. The body recognizes these as toxins and begins its natural processes to get rid of them. If present in too large of numbers for the eliminative system to handle, the individual may develop symptoms that include headaches, swelling in the mouth, throat, sinuses, and lymphatic’s, rashes, fatigue, diarrhea, muscle/joint achiness, or other flu-like symptoms. The severity will vary from person to person, depending on the extent of their condition, the state of their immune and eliminatory systems, and how much olive leaf extract is being consumed.

The die off effect is desirable as it indicates that the body is being cleared of these hazardous microbes and viruses. Anyone who experiences these unpleasant effects generally feels fabulously well afterwards many times better than ever before.

If you feel the effects and you would like to minimize them, there are some easy things you can do. Many physicians recommend that an individual consume plenty of water in between usages of the product. Water keeps the lymphatic system and the kidneys functioning properly and more capable of handling the excess toxins. Another way to reduce the effects is to cut back on the dose of tincture that you are taking or go off it completely for a day or two before slowly increasing the dose once again. It can take anywhere from a couple of days to a week to completely rid the body of the excess toxins.

Why Olive Leaf Tincture?

A good question, and the answer makes common sense. Tinctures are made from the ground herb combined with pure grain alcohol. The alcohol acts as a solvent extracting the active healing ingredients out of the herb. The alcohol is then pressed out of the herb, all the valuable active herbal ingredients are now in the alcohol, the herbal pulp is discarded. This process can be done with one or a combination of herbs. In an alcohol tincture form the herb(s) are easily assimilated by the body to immediately begin the healing process such as killing germs or viruses.

There is no official dose for taking olive leaf tincture even though it has been around for thousands of years of use and testing. The most popular amount for a maintenance dose is 2 droppers full twice daily on an empty stomach before meals. For conditions such as the common cold, flu, sinus infections, and basic respiratory tract infections, the dose is 2 droppers full every 2 hours. For acute infections such as sore throat, swollen glands, fever, etc., the recommendation is 3 droppers full every 2 hours.

Safety of Olive Leaf Tincture

From all indications over the thousands of years of use by professional and nonprofessional people; Olive leaf tincture appears to be an extremely safe supplement that can effectively aid the body in improving immune function and fighting infection by various microbes and viruses. To my knowledge and through my research I have not found one single negative case involving the use of olive leaf tincture.

Shelf Life

Alcohol acts as a preservative and if stored in a cool, dark place, tinctures can last indefinitely. I have herbal tinctures that have lasted 15 years and were just as strong as when I first used them. As I said above, avoid heat, sunlight, and exposure to air, and your tinctures will keep their “just picked” freshness for as long as you own them.

Don’t take olive leaf with antibiotics as they can be inactivated by olive leaf.

Don’t take olive leaf with Warfarin (Coumadin) this drug can cause internal bleeding.

Olive leaf naturally relaxes blood vessels and capillaries which could increase Coumadin’s side effect.

Penis Rash Triggers – Four Common Causes of Penile Breakouts

For men with an itchy, red, uncomfortable penis rash, relief can’t come quickly enough. The bumps are unsightly, and the niggling itch doesn’t seem to abate no matter how much a guy might scratch. Unfortunately, rashes in intimate areas can spring from many sources, and each different rash type may require a slightly different approach to penis care.

A doctor is best qualified to determine the source of the discomfort and provide appropriate relief, but in the interim, learning more about what tends to cause skin eruptions might help. Armed with this knowledge, a man will be in a good position to help his doctor combat the rash and restore the skin to good health.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Of all penis rash causes, STDs are probably the most frightening to contemplate, and men with outbreaks of red bumps often scour their memory banks, trying to remember if they’ve had sex with an infected partner in the recent past. Condoms can provide protection from some STDs, but some areas of the skin are still exposed even with protection, allowing infectious agents to slip through.

A quick swab at the doctor’s office could help to diagnose an STD, and appropriate treatments could keep future breakouts under control. Some types of STDs can be successfully treated with antibiotics or other medical therapies, while other infections remain in the body for decades, and they could be passed on to future partners. That’s why a proper diagnosis is so important. By learning the source of the rash, a guy could keep future mates from contracting a contagious disease.

STDs often top the list of concerns for guys with rashes, but there are several other sources for penis problems, and not all of them carry such severe consequences. For example, men who handle their equipment with a firm, tight and dry grip during intimate moments could abrade their delicate skin cells and erupt in a rash in the hours that follow. Even sex could lead to a rash, if the receptive partner isn’t providing adequate lubrication. Rashes like this can sometimes look like those caused by STDs, so it’s always important to see a doctor, but friction abrasions do tend to heal with time and TLC.

Landry detergents, perfumed soaps and slick body lotions can contain hundreds of ingredients, and even a small amount of a skin allergen could invade the delicate tissue of the penis and cause a ring of rashes to form. Intense itching might follow, and the welts might spread to other parts of the body. Identifying the allergen is vital, as outbreaks like this tend to grow more severe in time, so men will need to avoid the items that cause the welts to rise. Allergy testing can solve the mystery, but in the interim, sticking to products that have none of the following ingredients might be helpful:

  • Dyes
  • Anti-bacterial agents
  • Perfumes
  • Deodorants
  • Lye

Inadequate Care

An unclean penis that is contaminated with bacteria and dead skin cells could quickly become an infected penis that swells, itches and feels terrible. Antibiotic creams can be vital here, allowing the inflammation to fade and the skin to resume its normal work. In the case of an infection, a doctor’s care is generally necessary.

Cleaning with a mild soap and rinsing thoroughly is an excellent method to keep the skin of the penis from rebelling and erupting. A penis health crème (most experts recommend Man 1 Man Oil) might also help to soothe penis skin and help it to resist infection, as it contains both vitamins and emollients that can soften skin and nourish the cells, providing a strong barrier against harmful contaminants. Wearing supportive undergarments that breathe could also be vital, as these items of clothing may discourage bacterial colonies from growing in the dark, humid area around the penis.

Camphor Oil – Homemade Skin Care

Camphor oil is beneficial in many ways. This ingredient may sound familiar since it’s found in commercial ointments and skin care products, like Ben Gay and Vicks Vapor Rub. These products alleviate sore muscles and joints. Vicks Vapor Rub releases fumes when applied to the skin. Inhaling these fumes eases coughs and congestion. Just a small amount of camphor is found in each and is considered to be safe by the FDA.

Camphor is a slippery substance extracted, by steam distillation, from the wood and root of the camphor tree, Cinnamomum Camphora. It takes fifty years for this tree to produce camphor oil. The oil has a sharp, penetrating, scent similar to turpentine. It has different colors: brown, yellow and white. White camphor is the one found in commercial or homemade skin care products. It’s relatively, non-toxic, non-sensitizing and non-irritating. On the other hand, brown and yellow camphor are toxic and carcinogenic. Synthetic camphor, made from turpentine oil, is used often as a replacement.

Never use without knowing what their bioactive compounds are known to do. Essential oils are potent! Use with care!

Treatment For Eczema – Finally An Effective Way To Stop The Discomfort Of Eczema For Good

Eczema is an inconvenient skin condition that affects a fair amount of the population. A lot of treatment options are available and their effects vary from patient to patient. Some would be comfortable with the doctor’s prescription. Others would complement the doctor’s medication with natural alternatives. Even a lot of eczema sufferers would rather use the natural remedies. It’s a free world and every eczema sufferer can use any therapy as he or she sees fit. Eczema is characterized by dry skin and it is common knowledge that applying moisturizers helps in this condition. One must also avoid the factors that trigger eczema. After that, treatment entails different measures to control the conditions.

Flare-ups, that are also characteristic of eczema, are normally treated with topical corticosteroids. Such medication reduces inflammation and is relatively safe when used properly. Mild corticosteroids are normally used for children on the face and flexures like behind the knees and the crease of the elbow. More potent corticosteroids are for adults with lichenified or discoid eczema. Such steroids can be used for eczema on the limbs, torso, and scalp. Other non-steroid treatments for flare-ups are Protopic ointment (with tacrolimus) and Elidel cream (with pimecrolimus).

Another symptom of eczema is lichenification, which is the thickening of the skin and the exaggeration of normal skin markings, giving the skin a bark-like and leathery appearance. To treat lichenification, bandages with coal tar, zinc, ichthammol are used. However, this treatment must be supervised by the doctor. For infected areas, the doctor might prescribe moisturizing bath additives and moisturizers. As for itching, short courses of antihistamines are occasionally prescribed to help the reduction of severe itching during acute flare-ups.

However, eczema sufferers who are unresponsive to treatment may have to undergo drastic measures. A course of corticosteroids may be taken orally to bring the inflammation under control. An alternative is immunosuppressant medicines like ciclosporin. Phototherapy or light treatment is another alternative for severe and unresponsive eczema. Toctino capsules (with alitretinoin as an active ingredient) are intended for chronic hand eczema.

There are also natural alternatives for the treatment of eczema. These include gamolenic acide (extract of evening primrose). Another natural alternative is the use of herbal Chinese medicines. However, Chinese herbal remedies must only be used under the supervision of a specialist. Eczema is a nasty but manageable condition but the remedies are abundant. There are some therapies you can do by yourself, but it is best to consult with your physician before embarking on treatment of your eczema.

Wild Lingzhi – Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment to Restore Energy and Health

There are a lot of traditional Chinese medical treatments that can be used for specific symptoms or deficiencies in particular areas of the body, but there are also some supplements that work to restore the body as a whole. It comes down to restoring the natural balance of energy to the body so you have energy and your system can naturally restore itself to full health.

Wild Lingzhi is a fungus that grows naturally in China and the United States. It is considered one of the most effective supplements for restoring the body to health, boosting energy, and strengthening the body. It is believed to support the immune system to fight off infection or disease, but also supports the liver and respiratory system.

These benefits have made the Lingzhi fungus a highly sought after herb for many generations. It has been used by practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine to help people restore balance and energy to the body so they can heal and live healthfully. Today, it is being embraced by the rest of the world through commercial supplements.

You don’t have to go into the forest of China to find Lingzhi. Others do that for you and then put it in pill form. This is how the entire world is now taking advantage of the health benefits of the Wild Lingzhi. The pills are usually capsules which contain the herb in powdered form.

This is a slight variation from the way someone in China might use Lingzhi. Herbs are still used in powdered form there, but they are typically turned into teas so they can be ingested directly into the body in liquid form. Most of the products on the market today for the rest of the world will take the powder and enclose it into capsules which are more palatable and much easier to swallow.

Selecting Your Wild Lingzhi Supplement

Just like any other type of herbal supplement, you have to choose your source of Wild Lingzhi carefully. You need to find a product that only uses very high quality herbs from the wild. This wild herb must then be dried and powdered in a way that preserves the natural properties and purity of the fungus. The powder that eventually ends up inside the capsule should be very pure, potent, and not laced with chemicals and preservatives.

The good news is you can go online and find some very reputable providers of pure Wild Lingzhi powdered capsules. You will know the reputable, trustworthy sources when you find them because they will give you information about the quality of the Lingzhi they use and how they process it into the powdered form.

This is very important because herbs can be very powerful inside the human body. You have to make sure the herbs placed inside your body are pure and of extremely high quality. This is not only a matter of safety, but it’s the only way to ensure you get the full benefit of the herb.

All you need to take advantage of Wild Lingzhi is a basic capsule of powdered Lingzhi. You don’t need it to be combined with anything else to get its full benefit. In fact, a pure Lingzhi supplement is probably better than a formula that only includes it along with other ingredients.

Antibiotics – 5 Reasons to Avoid Them – Yeast Infection, MRSA, Resistance, Diarrhea, and Allergy

Have a cold? Take an antibiotic?

Ear pain? Take an antibiotic.

Acne? Take an antibiotic.

That’s what people think anyway. But is this really the best course of action? Does the short-term gain outweigh the long-term consequences? And is there a short-term gain to begin with? Antibiotics don’t help colds caused by a virus. Most ear infections clear just as quickly without antibiotics. True, bad acne improves with oral antibiotics, but what about the millions of teens who take them for just a few zits?

Every day doctors see problems related to the use of antibiotics. Here are five reasons doctors try to limit their use and why you should think twice yourself before taking one.

1. Yeast infection. Often patients are unaware that our body is covered with germs, both inside and out. The skin, the mouth, the vagina, the intestine – all have their own population of bacteria. For the most part, these microbes stay where they belong and do what they’re supposed to. One function of the normal flora (normal population of bacteria) is to keep the bad ones at bay. There are always a few harmful bacteria around, but usually they are crowded out by the good ones. However, taking an antibiotic often kills off the population of good bacteria and allows a different microbe to take over. Most commonly, yeast is the intruder. Once the bacteria get out of the way, the few yeast that linger on the skin, in the vagina, or in the colon claim the territory as their own. The overgrowth of yeast often leads to symptoms of vaginal yeast infection or a yeast skin infection, usually in warm areas such as the armpits, groin, or under the breast.

2. Clostridium difficile colitis. Just as the overgrowth of yeast can occur and produce infection when the normal bacteria are killed off, so may harmful bacteria. Frequently the normal flora of the intestine is susceptible to an antibiotic taken for an illness. However, clostridium difficile (or c. diff.) is not killed by common antibiotics such as penicillin, sulfa drugs, or erythromycin. The few c. diff. bacteria that you may harbor in your intestine will not harm you as long as their numbers remain limited. But when overgrowth occurs, foul-smelling diarrhea occurs, sometimes accompanied by fever, dehydration, or the need for hospitalization. C. diff. colitis requires a different antibiotic to rid your body of this harmful organism.

3. Resistance. As mentioned above, certain bacteria are already resistant to antibiotics. However, the potential exists for many bacteria to become resistant to useful antibiotics. What if penicillin became ineffective for strep throat? In some cases it already is. MRSA (methicillin-resistant staph aureus) is a harmful bacteria that has emerged in recent years due to the overuse of antibiotics. If you remember your high school genetics, you may know that when bacteria (or people) multiply by the billions, a few mutations are inevitable. In the microbe population this often means that when billions of bacteria reproduce, a few of the daughter-bacteria inherit a mutation that makes them resistant to certain antibiotics. Usually these mutated bacteria, though stronger in the sense that they could live through an “attack” of penicillin, are actually weaker in other ways and die a natural but premature death. However, if the entire population of bacteria is subject to a round of antibiotics, the weaker but penicillin-resistant bacteria may live to repopulate the environment. Then the next time penicillin is used, it will not work. Doctors see antibiotic resistance everyday. It IS a real threat, and at least for now, we don’t have new antibiotics on the horizon to use against these resistant bacteria.

4. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Even apart from killing off the normal flora of the body, antibiotics may cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea in themselves. These are chemicals after all, chemicals which the body may reject as foreign. The erythromycin class of antibiotics is especially notorious for causing gastrointestinal symptoms by stimulating the naturally occurring contractions of the gut.

5. Drug allergy. Any patient can be allergic to any medication, and antibiotics are no exception. Though often an antibiotic allergy may manifest as only a rash, true anaphylaxis may occur with the use of any antibiotic. Anaphlylaxis is a total body allergic response which may include hives, nausea, light-headedness, itching, swelling, and trouble breathing, much like a bee-sting allergy. Any time you think you are having a reaction to a medication, call your doctor. If you are having trouble breathing or feel like you might faint, call 911. This is a medical emergency.

Just writing this reminds me to be careful when prescribing antibiotics to my patients. Next time your doctor orders you a round of penicillin or other antibiotic, ask how necessary the drug really is. Often they are prescribed for convenience more than necessity. If an antibiotic will only get you well a day faster, maybe you’re better off doing without.

How Serious Are Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms

Alcohol withdrawal symptoms happen when a person who is addicted to alcohol suddenly stops consuming it. Because the alcoholic’s body has been dependent to alcohol, immediate withdrawal will give negative side effects to the person’s body system. This is the reason why you will see alcoholics starting to shake and stutter once the alcohol content in their body goes down. And in order for them to be normal, they have to consume more alcohol to replace the substance that was lost.

It has always been argued upon if withdrawal symptoms are life threatening or not. This to some degree has led some alcoholics to believe that quitting abruptly might cause severe side effects or even their death. Of course this is a fallacy and it is just being used as an excuse to protect their addiction. Some common symptoms are irritability (mood swings), confusion, depression, diarrhea, fear, hallucinations, headaches, heart palpitations, high blood pressure and insomnia to name a few.

The symptoms mentioned above are just a few examples what a person will feel once he quits or abstains from alcohol. The seriousness on these symptoms will generally depend on how long has the person been addicted to alcohol. A person who has been drinking everyday for 5 years can cope much easily compared from a person who has been drinking everyday for the past 10 years. There are many factors to be considered and not all individuals will act the same if alcohol is removed from their body.

I have known successful quitters who have been drinking almost all their life but they did not suffer severe side effects when they stopped. For them, their strong determination and commitment strengthened them to endure the symptoms they felt during their quitting period. Although from some articles I have read, some quitters succumb to massive heart attacks while others developed serious diseases that later on caused their eventual death. If this is the case then medical assistance is greatly advised especially if the quitter feels really bad during the first day of quitting.

Now these stories should not be a hindrance if you have been drinking for a long period of time and would like to quit. Rather, be positive and never let go of your goal to become a non-alcoholic once more. You may discuss this to your health practitioner which in return will give you some medicine to help you cope up during your withdrawal stage. Don’t be shy to open up your vice and addiction, you might need some medical help along the way.

Don’t lose focus in fighting your addiction to alcohol. Withdrawal symptoms no matter how severe they are will not last and should never be a hindrance in attaining your goal and objective. Try to regain back your respect and freedom and quit drinking today.

Suboptimal Thyroid Can Cause Weight Gain and Depression

One of Oprah’s viewers diagnosed her as having a problem with her thyroid. That was one factor in her constant struggle with weight. Your thyroid is the main hormone of metabolism and it affects your energy, weight, mood, temperature, fertility, menstrual cycles, hair growth, bowel movements, sleep and more. It’s a hormone that is sometimes misunderstood and it is suggested that the range of normal be changed. I will shed some light on the symptoms and tests. These are the most common symptoms and is not a complete list:

Symptoms of Overactive Thyroid- Hyperthyroidism

  • Rapid heart beat
  • Chest pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Insomnia
  • Weight loss
  • Irregular menses
  • Anxiety
  • Feel hot & sweaty

Symptom of Underactive Thyroid – Hypothyroidism

  • Weight gain
  • Fatigue
  • Constipation
  • Excess sleep
  • Depression
  • Dry coarse hair & skin
  • Poor memory
  • Hair loss
  • Muscle pain and weakness
  • Feeling cold

These symptoms can overlap with other conditions. You may have one or more of these and should report these to your doctor, have a check up and get laboratory studies to determine if an overactive or underactive thyroid is causing the symptoms. You may find a difference in opinion when it comes to measuring and interpreting thyroid levels. Here are some tests you should be aware of:

Thyroid Tests

  • TSH – this is a common screening test and most doctors order this. It is the signal from the pituitary gland in your brain that tells your thyroid to make more hormones. If it is high, it means it is shouting at your thyroid gland to make more hormones because your levels are too low. The common misinterpretation is that high means high thyroid levels and it is actually the opposite.
  • New range of normal – The current range of normal for TSH is quite wide 0.5-5. Normal and optimal are not the same. People with symptoms who are on either end of the range, may be considered normal and won’t be treated. The American Association of Clinical endocrinology and the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry have recommended changing the range since people who don’t have severe symptoms may be suffering and can benefit from treatment. They recommend a range of 0.3-2.5.
  • Free versus bound – most hormones are carried through the blood stream by protein carriers. If they are bound to protein, they are inactive. When it comes to thyroid, the free hormone is what counts.
  • Free T4 – has 4 iodine molecules, it is a reserve or storage hormone that becomes active when it is converted to the active hormone free T3 by removing one iodine molecule.
  • Free T3 – is the active hormone. This conversion can be halted by aging, stress, nutritional deficiencies, trauma, infection, surgery, medications, hormone imbalance and diet. The hormone’s actions can also be blocked by thyroid antibodies (Antithyroglobulin or Anti Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) Antibodies) and/or Reverse T3. The standard of care is to measure TSH and free T4 or to calculate free T4, however you can see that there is more to it than that. There also seems to be a subset of people with depression that respond better when a combination of T3 and T4 is given. The most commonly used thyroid replacement medication, synthroid, only has T4 and if you have a problem converting to the active form, it may not feel as effective.
  • Reverse T3 – binds to the same receptor as T3 and blocks its actions. If it is too high, even though all of the other lab tests are “normal” you may have symptoms of low thyroid function. The most common causes are stress and hormone imbalance. Anything that interferes with the conversion of free T4 to free T3 can also cause an elevation of reverse T3. The ratio of free T3 to reverse T3 is important. Just think of one as the gas (free T3) and the other the brake (reverse T3). If you are below the midpoint of the range of free T3 you have less gas, and if you are above the midpoint of the range of reverse T3 you have too much braking action.

Hormone balance is complex. It requires a nutritionally balanced diet, hormone balance, stress management and other factors. There may be restrictions on your doctor to do the full battery of thyroid tests. If that is the case, consult an anti aging, metabolic or functional medicine physician to help you get to the root cause of your issues and find a natural approach.

Trying to ‘Get Over It’? How to Fix Negative Associations

Is there a memory in your life you feel affects your current life and you can’t ‘get over it’? Maybe it was a childhood event that traumatized you and it still hinders your daily life? Even if it was out of your control and you weren’t in a position of power at the time, do you sometimes wonder if you went back in time, you could change it somehow?

Even if your childhood memories are not particularly bad or eventful, are you currently in a situation that you feel completely powerless in or that you have no control over some aspect of life? Do you keep on going over it again and again in your mind, thinking about how bad it is but aren’t sure what to do? Or are you just feeling stuck and want to change your current situation?

While change is inevitable and bad things happen all the time to both good and bad people, the quality of your thoughts WILL effect your current situations, regardless of when or where it happened.

For anyone who is suffering from previous trauma (like during childhood), I will talk about two different techniques used to overcome your negative associations. Please note that these two therapies may not work in some cases like rape or victims of physical violence.

Immersion therapy is the best therapy for someone who has a phobia of some sort. This is also a good treatment to overcome any kind of fears. I included this therapy in my list because it is very common for people with strong fears or phobias to miss out on something.

For example, a fear or phobia of flying might hinder you from traveling to places you may otherwise want to go to but can’t because of their debilitating reaction to flying.

In this therapy, the person is given steps to overcome their fear or phobia. In my example, the first step might be looking at a picture of a plane. They are then taken through a relaxation session. The next step might be going to the airport. A new series of relaxation techniques are used. The stages are continued until they are able to successfully able to fly from one destination to another.

Desensitization therapy is a good therapy for anyone wanting to overcome something in stages through a less intense treatment. This is also a great treatment for those that are also suffering from phobias and other problems.

Desensitization is described as: ‘occurring when an emotional response is repeatedly evoked in situations in which the action tendency that is associated with the emotion proves irrelevant or unnecessary.’*

What’s great about desensitization is that anyone can do this. They can start out with the help of a therapist to give them the tools they need and then developing the skills to do it on their own so that the negative thoughts reoccur less and less.

Even being able to talk about the problem to friends, family and loved ones about the problem helps. Simply put, when it is talked about more and more, the less pain one feels in the long run. It is similar to the idea of being desensitized by watching violence on TV, as desensitization of your negative associations will be a gradual process and, in most cases, effective.

The next form of therapy works well with someone currently facing some issues they feel that they can’t escape from. It could be any kind of situation- from a bad working environment to not being able to get along well with one’s family. It can also help you if you are suffering from something like overeating, smoking, or sex addictions.

NLP is short for Neural Linguistic Programming. It is commonly associated with Hypnosis and is not considered a science. This therapy shows you how your neurological (Neural) associations with speech (Linguistic) affect your daily life (programming).

In this specific therapy, the therapist is not building on a deficit model (like most therapies), where they ‘fix a problem’, but rather build upon the foundation. Basically, clients are not thought of as being broken, but as doing the best they can in their situation with what they already know. The client is often even considered an expert in their own life- as no one knows you as well as you do.

Sounds interesting, right? While the founders may not be recognizable to most people that aren’t in the psychology field, you may be familiar with Tony Robbins. He is one of the people that made this kinds of therapy common and well known. This is a good option if you want to try something a little bit different.

If you are suffering from negative thoughts or associations either from your past or present, getting a trained therapist can help you through the therapies I’ve recommended. I can also teach you how to use some of these techniques in the comfort of your own home. You don’t have to suffer from your past or current situation anymore- you can overcome it!

Frozen Emotions Means Anxiety

How does a person get emotionally frozen? When all their feelings and emotions are trapped deep, down inside and act as a one big aching pain in their body? Crying acts like a release for these emotions but when you can’t cry your body cries out for release.

In some ways it is one of the most painful thing anyone can live through. To go through their days and nights with all this pain trapped deep down inside of them. When a loved one dies and you can’t get the emotion’s out.

Of course, the emotion has to come out in some kind of way, maybe in headaches, pain in various parts of your body or in dizziness. The worst part is anxiety. You feel and appear anxious and when you get nervous

or stressed the anxiety becomes unbearable. It takes over your mind and body and soon you can’t function.

Sleeping is a thing of the past. Your mind runs and runs, and do you really remember what you were thinking about all those hours when you should have been sleeping?

The next step is seeing a Psychiatrist and taking anxiety medication which may or may not work. The side effects, if you read the papers which come along with each prescription bottle are pages long. You can’t win for losing.

What can you do when this happens to you?

1. Sports where you are moving your body is good.

2. Swimming is fabulous it really works your entire body including your mind.

3. Water aerobics is a little different from swimming. It tones your body into a sculptured piece of art.

4. Walking by yourself or with a friend is also very therapeutic.

5. Paint a room in your house. Make it colorful. You will get physical exercise and boost your self-esteem.

6. Take your dog for a good long walk. Stop and talk to the neighbors. You might meet neighbors who have lived in your neighborhood for years and never met before.

7. Talk to a therapist.

8. Join a support group.

9. Write about it. You do not need to share it with anybody just for yourself.

10. Try deep breathing. It really helps calm you down.

The object here is to keep your mind and body busy so you won’t think of all the pain trapped in your body. Someday something might happen out of the blue that you see or read and the water works will start.

Release of all the emotions trapped in your body will come tumbling out. But until that happens to you try the above suggestions or add your own. Everybody has some kind of hobby or interest they can get lost in. Get lost in yours.

Thank you for reading my article. Please feel free to read any of the various articles I have written on numerous subjects in the past years.

Eliminate PMS Symptoms

PMS has been defined by more than 150 symptoms, ranging from mood swings; weight gain to acne. The symptoms vary from woman to woman and cycle to cycle. The symptoms may be mild, moderate, or so severe as to be incapacitating. The mental causes for PMS are created through thought patterns allowing confusion to reign—Not feeling good enough and giving power to outside influences and/or rejection of the feminine processes. PMS includes both physical and emotional symptoms. Common symptoms are:

• Nervous system symptoms: insomnia (sleeplessness), hypersomnia (sleeping for abnormally long periods of time), fatigue, lethargy, agitation, a change in sex drive, clumsiness, dizziness or vertigo, paresthesia (prickling or tingling sensation)

• Gastrointestinal symptoms: upset stomach, constipation, nausea, diarrhea,

• Cardio vascular symptoms: Heart palpitations (rapid fluttering of the heart), sweating, red flushing in face, neck and upper chest

• Fluid and electrolyte symptoms: bloating, weight gain, oliguria (reduced urination), appetite changes or food cravings, anorexia,

• Skin symptoms: acne, oily skin, greasy or dry hair

• Physical symptoms: headache/migraine, joint or muscle pain

• Mood-related (“affective”) symptoms: sadness, crying, anxiety, anger, irritability, tension, frequent and severe mood swings, lack of enthusiasm, low self-esteem

• Mental process (“cognitive”) symptoms: decreased concentration, difficulty remembering, indecision

The metaphysical way to eliminate PMS requires one to change thought processes about oneself in the scheme of life, replacing those thoughts with positive affirmations—

• I now take charge of my mind and my life. I am a powerful, dynamic woman! Every part of my body functions perfectly. I love me. I am balanced and peaceful in all changes of cycles, and I bless my body with love.

In addition to changing self-defeating thoughts, dietary changes provide significant relief for PMS, peri- and menopausal symptoms.

It is a known fact that Japanese women tend to suffer with menstrual symptoms or hot flashes only about 1/3 as often as American women. Women on vegetarian diets also complain of hot flashes far less than women who eat meat. Of course, you don’t have to give up those steaks–but doctors and nutritional professionals suspect that the difference is largely due to the use of soy products in the diets of these women, and many women have realized that by incorporating some soy in their diets, their menstrual symptoms and menopausal symptoms have abated considerably.

Other important supplements are:

Flaxseed: High in phytoestrogens (especially lignans), flaxseed also is high in omega-3 fatty acids — a key helper in fighting heart disease. And, like soy, it’s a good all-round helper in your body. It’s high in phytoestrogens, flaxseed can help minimize symptoms like hot flashes. Studies have shown that it can help lower LDL (the “bad”) cholesterol. Studies have shown that it helps fight breast cancer and other cancers. It can help prevent heavy bleeding — a common symptom when you’re first beginning to enter premature menopause and going through erratic periods. Because it’s high in omega-3 acids, it help ease symptoms like breast tenderness, cramping, and other PMS-like discomfort.

Red Clover (available under the brand name Promensil) is another phytoestrogen high in bioflavonoids. Like other phytoestrogens, red clover has been shown to reduce hot flashes, help fight osteoporosis, and generally minimize other menopausal symptoms. But there have recently been other studies that found that it wasn’t as helpful as initially believed. As with so many other supplements, the jury is still out.

Vitamin E and Citrus Bioflavonoids: This combination is a hot-flash buster — with studies showing that taking these two supplements together helps combat hot flashes. 400 IUs of Vitamin E along with 1200 mg of bioflavonoids taken in the morning and again before bedtime has been shown to reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes. (One note: Vitamin E isn’t safe for everyone. If you have rheumatic heart disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes, or take digitalis drugs, Vitamin E can be harmful. So be sure to check with your naturopath about the appropriate dosage.)

One study (conducted in the 1960s. . . unfortunately there have been few more recent studies) found that, after only one month, over 50 percent of the 94 participating women taking 1200 milligrams of bioflavonoids along with 1200 milligrams of Vitamin C stopped having hot flashes completely and another 34 percent had a drop in hot flash frequency and intensity. Studies have also shown that bioflavonoids also appear to help relieve moodiness, anxiety, irritability and other emotional side effects of menopause — and can help fight vaginal dryness. Vitamin E helps with vaginal dryness (you can even use it as a vaginal suppository — just putting the capsule in your vagina.)

Vitamin A or Beta Carotene: If you’re suffering from vaginal dryness — or if you’ve noticed a change in your skin texture, a drying or loss of elasticity, Vitamin A or beta carotene can help. Vitamin A (which is what beta carotene converts to in your body) helps maintain tissues, skin, and mucous membranes—help fight against vaginal dryness and skin changes that often come with low estrogen levels.

B-Vitamins: This family of vitamins helps in coping with premature menopause, both in terms of helping combat symptoms and fighting negative long-term risks. B vitamins can keep your energy levels up; support your liver function ( a definite plus if you’re on HRT, as oral estrogen is broken down by your liver); prevent vaginal dryness; increase your resistance to infection; help maintain your adrenal gland function — which is where the precursor to estrone (the form of estrogen still produced by your body after menopause) is produced. B vitamins are considered stress fighters — so can help you to deal with the emotional symptoms that crop up during premature menopause such as: anxiety, irritability, mood swings, even insomnia.

In addition, if you’re on HRT, it’s a good idea to be sure you’re getting B-vitamins either through your diet (whole grains, beans and brewer’s yeast are all good sources of B vitamins) or in a multi-vitamin or B-complex supplement, since studies have shown that HRT may cause a deficiency in B2, B12, B6 and Biotin.

Calcium: A definite must to help prevent osteoporosis, calcium can also help lower blood pressure, reduce triglyceride levels (that sometimes rise in women on some forms of HRT.) Magnesium: Magnesium is a very important calcium helper — and also helps fight the crashing fatigue that often comes at the beginning of premature or early menopause by boosting energy levels.

Potassium: helps boost energy. It regularizes your heart beat, which can help if you get palpitations — a fairly common symptom of menopause. In addition, it can help you cope with water retention and bloating, both of which are side effects with certain forms of HRT, particularly progestins such as Provera.

Black Cohosh: helps cut down on hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms, it help with cramps, heavy periods and other menstrual irregularities. Studies conducted using black cohosh have shown that it appears to be quite effective, especially for hot flashes. And some researchers believe it may help prevent osteoporosis and reduce bone resorption, although no long-term studies conducted on humans have substantiated this.

Chasteberry (Vitex agnus castus): This (like black cohosh) appears to act like a progesterone and has been used in Europe for many years to alleviate PMS symptoms as well as menopausal symptoms. It may help diminish both LH and FSH and appears to affect your pituitary function. Different studies have found that it reduced menopausal symptoms, particularly hot flashes and irregular bleeding. It is helpful for breast tenderness, primarily because chasteberry suppresses prolactin production. Typically, it takes about three to four weeks to notice results. One note, however: While chasteberry is widely used in Europe, there have been no double-blind placebo studies conducted on it.

Evening Primrose Oil: A good source of GLA (gamma linoleic acid), evening primrose oil has been used by many women to help fight PMS symptoms — many of which are the same as menopausal symptoms. It’s a good bet to help prevent bloating, water retention, breast tenderness, cramps and vaginal dryness.

St. Johns Wort or Sam-E: If you’re finding yourself more easily depressed, St. Johns Wort or Sam-E may help. Widely touted as a natural tranquilizer, this herb helps relieve irritability, depression, and fatigue. Over 23 different studies have found that it’s effective in fighting depression — when hormone levels plunge suddenly.

Kava Kava: Helps in reducing anxiety, fighting depression, and leveling mood swings, kava kava has been shown to be quite effective. One recent study found that women with menopausal symptoms taking 100 mg of kava kava three times a day reported a difference after only one week.

Valerian: If you’re suffering from insomnia, a common symptom, valerian may help. It’s used widely in Europe to treat sleep disturbances, as well as for nervousness and menstrual problems. It’s also known as an anxiety reliever — so may help with mood swings and tension.

Altering your diet in small ways can have the greatest positive effect on your body. For instance, by staying away from hot drinks, you’re not giving your body reason to “heat up” and produce a hot flash. At the same time, reducing your caffeine intake (which often comes in the form of hot drinks, including coffee and tea) will naturally help you sleep better at night, which will keep your mood and mental state healthy.

Lastly, replacing these drinks with water and juice will keep your bones and muscles well-lubricated, prevent osteoporosis from settling in, and temper your general aches and pains. We know it’s no easy task to give up coffee, but think of the endless benefits of this one relatively minor change to your diet.

One of the most commonly complained about symptoms of menopause is the weight gain that seems to come along with it. Put simply, your body isn’t burning calories in the same way it once was, so if you don’t change your diet–even if it’s already a healthy one – you’re bound to gain a few pounds around the waist.

Changing your diet now, simply by avoiding a few foods that are bound to make other symptoms worse, while increasing the foods high in certain vitamins while remaining low in calories, will help you to maintain your figure while giving your body the nutrients it needs to fight off the worst symptoms of menstruation or menopause.

For instance, foods high in potassium, including most fruits, will help you keep your mind sharp while promoting healthy water flushing throughout your body (which will reduce cramps and bloating), while keeping your muscles and bones lubricated and strong – including your needy joints and your thinning vaginal walls. In short, this is the time in your life when “an apple a day” couldn’t ring more true!

Oily fish–including salmon, tuna, and vegetable oils, are often recommended by nutritionists for anyone wanting to keep their minds sharp. But these oils are also useful in helping keep your muscles from drying, while helping your digestive system.

Everything from Vitamins C and E to herbal remedies such as Dong Quai and Wild Yam Root are superior to abating the menstrual and menopausal symptoms than any pharmaceutical. You can explore the countless ways in which these small changes or additions to your diet will not only combat the unique symptoms you’re going through, but the ways in which you can identify these symptoms quickly to lead a healthy life during your menstrual years and long after menopause.

Soy is a mystery to most Americans. Many of us would buy a chunk of tofu, which, let’s face it, is somewhat tasteless. However, you don’t need to move to Japan to figure out how to add it to your diet. You don’t need to give up eating cheeseburgers to enjoy the occasional veggie burger, but adding some soy to your diet has abated the negative symptoms of menstruation and menopause for millions of women. If you’ve not eaten many soy products, don’t turn up your nose yet–in addition to abating your negative menstrual, peri- or menopause symptoms, you may find that you actually like it! Not to mention soy is a lot less expensive compared to prescriptions, surgery and negative aftereffects.

Encephalitis – Ayurvedic Herbal Treatment

Encephalitis is infection of the brain, usually due to viral infection; however, it may also be caused by bacteria, fungi, protozoa or other parasites. Post-infection inflammation of the brain and non-infectious causes like bleeding, tumor, collagen disorders, toxins, drugs and vaccines too may be responsible for this condition. An acute onset, fever, headache, nausea, neck pain and neck rigidity, and – in the late stage- altered consciousness, tremors and convulsions are typical symptoms of this condition. Severe infection can cause respiratory arrest, coma and death. Supportive hospital care, antibiotics and steroids are used in the management of this condition.

The Ayurvedic management of encephalitis consists of treating the basic cause for the condition and preventing complications like neurological deficits and death. Viral, bacterial and fungal infection can be treated by using Ayurvedic medicines in combination with modern (Allopathic) medicines. These medicines include Triphala (Three fruits), Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum), Kachnaar (Bauhinia variegata), Nimba (Azadirachta indica), Haridra (Curcuma longa), Daru-Haridra (Berberis aristata), Punarnava (Boerhaavia diffusa), Chitrak (Plumbago zeylanica), Pippali (Piper longum), Bhumiamalaki (Phyllanthus niruri), Yashtimadhuk (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Sukshma-Triphala, Ras-Sindur, Triphala-Guggulu and Panch-Tikta-Ghrut-Guggulu.

Inflammation in the brain can be treated using medicines like Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Haridra, Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Yashtimadhuk, Shallaki (Boswelia serrata), Guggulu (Commiphora mukul), Trivang-Bhasma, Raupya-Bhasma, Mukta-Bhasma, Triphala-Guggulu and Punarnavadi-Guggulu. Fever related to encephalitis can be treated using Kamdudha-Ras, Praval-Panchamrut-Ras, Maha-Sudarshan-Churna, Panchamrut-Parpati, Pathyadi-Qadha and Kasturi-Bhairav-Ras.

Medicines like Ashwagandha, Yashtimadhuk, Mandukparni (Centella asiatica), Haridra, Tapyadi-Loh, Ekang-Veer-Ras, Maha-Yograj-Guggulu, Vish-Tinduk-Vati, Vat-Gajankush-Ras and Bruhat-Vat-Chintamani can be used to comprehensively treat infection, reduce inflammation, induce healing and also prevent complications like neurological deficit and convulsions. Medicines like Kanchnaar-Guggulu, Shallaki and Heerak-Bhasma can be used to treat brain tumors. Medicines like Punarnavadi-Guggulu, Punarnavadi-Mandur and Punarnavadi-Qadha can be used to reduce the toxic effects of drugs on the brain. Tapyadi-Loh, Sphatik-Bhasma, Mukta-Pishti, Naagkeshar (Messua ferrea), Vasa-Ghrut and Laxadi-Guggulu can be used to reduce blood clots and prevent further bleeding.

It is important to remember that all patients of encephalitis need to be hospitalized and treated by trained and experienced Neurologists and other qualified staff. Ayurvedic medicines can be given as additional treatment in order to reduce morbidity and mortality in this condition.

About Aromatherapy and Hydrotherapy

Our sense of smell is the strongest compared to all the others. We associate certain smells to things we like and also to those we do not. The primary response humans have towards pleasant smells has been studied by researchers in the field of Alternative Medicine. Alternative Medicine uses beyond-the-conventional methods to cure several diseases among people. This science has the advantage of having less or no side effects during the treatment of an individual as there are any uses of drugs.

Alternative Medicine has developed remedies to almost all ailments based on simple and surprising substances. Who could have thought that merely smelling a scent can cure us of our illness? This branch of Alternative medicine is called Aroma Therapy. Just as unusual as this, is the Hydrotherapy. Yes, as the name suggests, Hydrotherapy uses water to rid the body of undesired agents and disease causing microbes.

Both Aromatherapy and Hydrotherapy are techniques based on Mind-Body Intervention methods. Both of them are very effective in what they do. Not many of us know much about these two relatively newly developed techniques,

A description in brief is provided here to make you familiar with them:

Aromatherapy uses volatile plant materials, called essential oils, for the purpose of altering a person’s mood, or health. Essential oils, the pure essence of a plant, have the quality to provide both physical & psychological benefits when used correctly. Essential oils are highly concentrated and should not be used directly. They are blended together to make a ‘synergy’.

In addition to essential oils, aromatherapy also uses other natural ingredients including cold pressed vegetable oils, herbs, milk powders, sea salts, clays and mud.

Aromatherapy can be carried out in two modes: By direct inhalation of the aroma or by topical application in the form of baths, massages, compresses etc.

Inhaling directly is the best mode as it efficiently relieves the body of all respiratory tract problems. It affects the nervous system as the aroma triggers a reaction in the brain which results in alleviating psychological moods. Topical applications are applied to the skin and are absorbed into the bloodstream. Massage blends constitute of aromatic oils which help reduce muscular aches, pains and migraines. Having an aromatic bath will accelerate healing of skin disorders; reduce stress levels and increase blood circulation and flow. Using compresses to apply aromatic salts to the body will also benefit the affected area. This method is used to treat muscular aches, varicose veins, sprains, menstrual cramps and respiratory congestion.

We are made of 80% water and based on this fact studies have revealed that water can be effectively used to heal the human body off several diseases.

As drinking water is a universal solvent so it helps significantly in the elimination of waste products which gets accumulated in the human body under certain circumstances causing definite injury.

Hydrotherapy is used as physiotherapy for treating people having grave injuries and muscle wastage. Hydrotherapy is also used for individuals suffering from joint problems or severe physical disabilities.

Hydrotherapy can be used in various ways in baths like hot, cold, neutral, sitz, sauna baths etc. While cold baths improves blood flow to tissues and reduce swelling, steam baths are effective in opening pores on the skin and refresh the body. Sitz baths are used for treatment of broken skin and for ailments affecting genital and urinary organs. Sprays can be given for a number of disorders and a neutral bath is best for relaxing and having a sedative effect as it is of the similar temperature as the body and this has a healing influence on the nervous system and the hormonal system.

Hydrotherapy and Aromatherapy are both very effective and have absolutely no side effects in their use. With little practice both techniques can be carried
