Penis Pain and Adult Phimosis

It’s not uncommon for young intact males to experience some form of phimosis, a situation in which the foreskin is too tight to comfortably retract. Adult phimosis is rarer, but needs to be treated, as it can be a source of considerable penis pain and discomfort. Even intact men who engage in proper penis health routines may fall prey to this condition, so knowing how to treat it is well advised.

What is phimosis?

As mentioned above, when a male has phimosis, it means that the foreskin does not retract behind the glans, which may cause a degree of penis pain. In children, phimosis is normal. One study showed that, at birth, 96% of males had a foreskin that could not be fully retracted; by the time these babies were 3 years old, however, nature had intervened and 90% of them were able to retract the foreskin all the way. At age 17, the figure of intact men who still experience phimosis falls to 1%.

However, it’s possible that even an adult male who has gone through the phimosis experience as a child and emerged with a properly retractable foreskin may at some point come down with an unwanted episode of phimosis. When this occurs in an adult, it is often medically referred to as “pathologic” or “true” phimosis.

Causes

Why would an adult male who has successfully retracted his foreskin develop phimosis? There are several factors which may be at play, including:

– Balanitis. Probably the most common culprit of phimosis in adult men is balanitis. When a man has balanitis, it causes the glans to swell up. With the increase in the size of the glans, the foreskin feels much tighter than normal and, in extreme cases, cannot be as comfortably retracted as it could prior to the swelling. This swelling is different than the normal swelling that occurs with an erection.

– Thrush. Men sometimes contract a yeast infection on the penis, often known as thrush or candidiasis. The penis may become red, itchy and sore; there may be swelling due to the infection, which can bring about a phimosis condition. Sometimes thrush results in scarring. Layers of scar tissue around the glans may also cause a tightening of the foreskin, making retraction difficult.

– Diabetes. Diabetes can on occasion contribute to a tightening of the foreskin. This occurs when glucose levels in urine are too high, resulting in an infection and subsequent swelling.

Treatment

Determining the cause of the phimosis is important, as this can help identify the best means of treatment. One of the most common causes of balanitis is improper penis hygiene, so men need to make sure that they regularly wash the entire penis, including underneath the foreskin. Treating thrush infections with an antifungal medication usually helps. And properly managing diabetes is important to maintain appropriate glucose levels.

In addition, doctors may prescribe steroid creams or a gentle manual stretching routine for the foreskin to help overcome the effects of phimosis.

A too-tight foreskin resulting from phimosis can cause penis pain whether the prepuce is partially retracted or not. Using a top-notch penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) can help to relieve this soreness while simultaneously building up the general health of the member. In order for penis skin to stretch properly, it needs to be supple and well-hydrated. A crème that contains a natural moisturizer (such as vitamin E) and a reliable emollient (such as Shea butter) is capable of creating the moisture-lock situation that promotes proper penis skin hydration. It also helps if the crème lists vitamin D among its ingredients, for vitamin D is proven to better enable cell functionality, leading to a healthier and more durable manhood.

Psoriasis on Scalp – Different Scalp Psoriasis Stages

Scalp Psoriasis is an inflammatory and chronic disease. The exact reasons for this disease are not known but it is believed that it is somewhat hereditary. The known reasons are lack of individual hygiene, frequent use of blow dryers regularly and some styling products. It takes several years to appear on the scalp. It is mostly seen in adults than in children. It is seen in both the sex but little more in women than in men. Scalp psoriasis exists in three stages.

First stage is Mild stage. In this stage the scalp and the hair becomes dry. One can notice the development of dandruff. Often mild stage of scalp psoriasis is mistaken as dandruff problem. The dandruff is dry and silvery in color. Itching is felt on the scalp and 20-30% of the scalp is affected in this stage.

Second stage is Moderate stage. This condition comes after few years of mild stage starts. Single or multiple patches that are silvery in color are seen on scalp. The patches are thick and reddish. The patches mainly concentrate behind the ears and back of the neck. In this condition 50-80% of the scalp gets affected. The eyebrows and beard may also get affected with scales and itching. When one scratches the scalp because of itching the fine dandruff falls on the shoulders and on the back side of the neck. This results in itching in these parts also.

The Third stage is Severe stage. In this stage, the scalp is covered with large crusty patches of scales. The scales spread beyond hairline and on the forehead. The scratching is unbearable in this stage. Some times blood comes out from these scratches. Usually psoriasis spreads to other parts of the body in this condition. Scalp Psoriasis is seen in the members of the same family. But it is not contagious and is not curable permanently but can be controlled by medication.

There are different types of treatments to control Scalp Psoriasis. But one should be very careful and should maintain personal as well as hair hygiene. Certain precautionary measures like avoiding use of others things like combs, towels should be strictly followed.

Before using any kind of cosmetics they should be tested for allergy and other health problems. One should not neglect if they find any symptoms and should consult a doctor. It is not at all sensible to take medicines with out the permission of a qualified medical doctor otherwise one may face some other skin problems along with Scalp Psoriasis.

3 Important Tips To Help You Care For Your Ray Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses

Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses are timeless classics. They have been around since the 1950’s and have been worn by Presidents as well as numerous celebrities both in movies as well as during their everyday lives. The Ray Ban Wayfarers were so popular, similar looking models were created by competing brands.

Just like all valuable possessions, it is important to keep them looking as good as new so they last long.

When In Use

Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses are worn by people for practically any event. They just look cool anywhere. That said, they are often exposed to the elements. And when I say elements, I do not just mean the weather, dust and such. I also mean the hands of over enthusiastic children.

To children, your sunglasses are just another toy to be thrown around, jumped on and taken apart. If you value your Ray Ban Wayfarers, keep them away from children.

But children are not the only ones responsible for damaging these classic sunglasses. Quite often, damage to Wayfarers are caused by the owners own negligence.

When you have your Ray Ban Wayfarers with you, ensure that when you are not wearing it, never keep it in your back pocket, on the car seat, on the dashboard and on the coffee table. Many pairs of Wayfarers were left broken or warped as a result of not storing them properly. Try to keep them in a proper case whenever possible.

Cleaning

But like all sunglasses, Ray Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses do get dirty. Smudgy fingerprints or a spot of dust on the lens, fungus slowly growing behind the nose pads – these are all common issues when owning a pair of sunglasses.

Though it is important to clean your sunglasses now and then, it is more important to do it properly so as not to damage it.

The simplest way to clean smudges off a lens is by using a micro fiber cloth. But before that, ensure that there is no solid residue on the lens surface or you might end up scratching the lens when you clean it.

In some cases, you might need more thorough cleaning for your pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers. Especially in cases where there is fungus buildup behind the nose pads. To clean this, you would need to first rinse the glasses with warm water to get rid of any lose residue. Then soak them in warm water with some mild liquid soap for a few minutes.

Next, use a small soft brush to get rid of the fungus. Finish the process by giving the Ray Ban Wayfarers a final rinse with warm water. Do not forget to dry them off with a soft lint-free cloth.

Storing

It is always a good idea to store your Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses in its proper case. However, if you live in an area with high humidity, slip in a silica gel pack into the case to keep moisture at bay. This will help prevent fungus from appearing. Check the gel pack occasionally. If the gel discolors, do not throw it away. Just dry it out in the sun for a couple of hours before reusing.

Asthma, "Hidden" Asthma, And Allergies

During the winter months, colds, flu, sore throats, and respiratory illnesses become more prevalent, outdoor activities decline, family members are in closer contact with one another, and our homes are sealed up against the wintry elements. Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) declines as indoor airborne pollutants and indoor allergens increase. The accumulation of built-up antigens (allergens) within a home, typically cause family members to suffer adverse health effects. Recent research confirms the EPA’s claim that indoor air quality can be 100 times, or even in some cases, 500 times worse, than the outdoor air quality. Those persons prone to allergies and asthma suffer severely at this time of the year. Until the general public becomes aware of the dangers of polluted indoor air and then begins to demand the services, Home Indoor Allergen Control services, specializing in improving indoor air quality, will remain limited in numbers. The EPA, utilizing public service announcements, is presently promoting campaigns to educate the public on the dangers to health from poor indoor air quality.

Coinciding with the energy conservation practices initiated in the late 1970’s, including better insulated home-building construction methods, asthma (and asthma related deaths) among children has continued to increase, year after year, since 1980. Asthma cannot be cured, but it can be controlled through;

  • patient/parent education
  • allergy injections
  • medications, and
  • avoidance of “triggers”

Symptoms of Allergies

Symptoms ranging from itchy skin, stuffed up nasal cavities, runny noses, head or sinus aches, bouts of sneezing, sinusitis, irritated, watery and reddish eyes, puffy, swollen or discolored eyelids, wheezing, a “tight” chest, scratchy throats, raspy voices, dry unproductive coughs, feelings of lethargy, mental fatigue and even depression are not uncommon. These symptoms may only result in temporary, or day to day, discomforts for some. Yet these discomforts, even if minimal, can now be controlled, at a low cost and without over-the-counter allergy medications, a huge revenue source for the pharmaceutical companies.

More importantly, without utilizing the benefits of home indoor allergen control, the nearly 50 to 60 million American’s (one in five) who suffer from allergies are at great risk of becoming afflicted with even more permanent, life long, ill-health effects including; asthma, bronchitis, perennial rhinitis (hay fever), eczema, dermatitis, sinus infections and other serious health issues, looming in their future.

Asthma and the Differing Types of Asthma

By overlooking the need for home indoor allergen control, children, the elderly, and persons with weak immune systems (even if just temporary) are at a high risk of developing long term medical afflictions. Although 4 to 5 million children, knowingly suffer asthma attacks yearly, asthma remains one of the more common chronic diseases of childhood and is often undiagnosed amongst children. There are as many types of asthma as there are “triggers” that can cause asthma attacks, but basically asthma is classified as either “intermittent or “persistent” asthma.

What is very important for parents to realize is the possibility of your child having “hidden” asthma a condition that exists before wheezing, coughing and rapid breathing become noticeable. Since infants and toddlers cannot verbalize how, or what, they are feeling, “hidden” asthma may be very hard to diagnose, even by your family physician. Irritability in very young children can mean many different things but, like a guttural cough or rapid breathing, could also be a sign of respiratory difficulties.

So how do you know if your child has signs of developing asthma or “hidden” asthma?

Pay attention! Become knowledgeable of the symptoms and alert to the possible triggers. Although it may be difficult to notice any tell-tale signs with children under the age of 18 or 24 months, there are definitive symptoms to look for in older children. Wheezing, for one you may think…but not necessarily so, is a prime characteristic found in asthmatics, yet it’s not necessarily the most common symptom. Coughing is a particularly prominent indicator and wheezing may not be readily noticeable to parents or the family physician, even through a stethoscope. Children with a history of bronchitis, pneumonia, respiratory infections, numerous and constant bouts of coughing (particularly at night or in cold weather when asthma conditions tend to worsen) should be thoroughly checked for asthma. Coughing immediately after vigorous activities such as running, or even a long-lasting spell of crying, are also signs that should be noted and may require a physician’s evaluation for asthma. Family history, especially a history of allergies or asthma, genetics, the child’s moods and actions, responses to foods and possible allergy triggers, must all be communicated to a physician in assisting to determine whether a child may be susceptibility to asthma.

Infants and toddlers with a past histories that include chest colds, bronchitis, pneumonia, chronic coughing or unusual breathing patterns, either shortness of breath or rapid breathing, should be tested for asthma as well as other respiratory diseases. Keep in mind, as active as toddlers and pre-schooler’s tend to be, it may be very difficult to discern the limitations of physical activities. Pulmonologist’s, performing lung function tests on very young children, still find it difficult to ascertain an asthma diagnosis, but these tests may still reveal airway obstructions. Asthma, brought under control, allows children to live more active lives without frequent asthma attacks.

Common Home Indoor Air Pollutants Resulting in Asthma and Allergies

Through education and knowledge, basic common sense, and recent technological innovations, the removal, reduction, and control of the following worst pollutants and allergens, will greatly improve Home Indoor Air Quality and the health of the home occupants. Of the nearly 50 – 60 million American’s suffering from allergies, 20 million or so, are allergic to household dust and/or the particulates that make up household dust. Guanine, a potent and harmful allergen produced by dust mites and found in their fecal pellets and exoskeletons, is a major contributor. The most common indoor allergens include:

  • Dust and Dust mite allergens
  • Second-hand cigarette smoke
  • Pet dander
  • Cockroaches
  • Molds and mildew

Education will allow homeowners to gain the knowledge of just how these allergens accumulate. By simply changing practices and habits, methods can be easily integrated into the present home lifestyle to minimize the amount of unhealthy allergens and thereby improving the quality of health for the home occupants. To a degree, housekeeping practices have evolved over the past generation or two. Kitchen areas have tested to be the most bacteria ridden parts of a home.

Our bedrooms, especially within the mattresses that we sleep upon one-third of our life, are the dirtiest and nastiest. Mattresses and the micro-climatic ecosystem within them, provide all the creature comforts that allow dust mites to live, thrive and breed while producing the antigen guanine, the worst offender and most harmful of all indoor allergens. Our grandparents can recall the days when mattresses were carried outside to have the “dust” literally beaten out of them and then placed in the sunlight for a naturally cleansing. Nowadays, aside from both parents working full-time jobs, mattress technology has evolved to the point that mattresses are too heavy or too bulky, to tote outside even if there is an area that exists where the mattress can be placed for “cleansing”. Carpeting accumulates many allergens as well, however carpeting does not provide the micro-climatic ecosystem that dust mites require. Regular vacuuming assists in controlling built-up allergens in carpeting, but only if the proper vacuum is used.

Home Indoor Allergen Control Technicians

Mattress cleaning technicians, trained in the removal, reduction, and control of home indoor allergens are in an excellent position to not only offer their much needed services, but to also help educate the general public on methods of improving and sustaining healthier lives by simply improving home indoor air quality.

The above information is not intended as medical advice. If you or your family members experience any of the above symptoms, please see a medical professional. Excellent information is available from either the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI) or the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI).

Whiplash Injuries Can Become Serious Long After Accidents Occur

Statistics show that nearly 25% of whiplash victims suffer from chronic injuries or disabilities that require long-term medical care. Furthermore, one in seven whiplash injuries result in severe lingering pain in the neck and back lasting more than three years after the accident occurs. Neck and back injuries resulting from any kind of accident are likely to interfere with an individual’s daily life, potentially preventing them from returning to work, performing normal activities, or even getting out of bed without experiencing extreme pain. Whiplash injuries are particularly debilitating because the resulting pain can affect the neck, back, shoulders and even one or both arms.

Whiplash is one of the most common injuries associated with neck and back trauma, often resulting from involvement in motor vehicle accidents, assault, or slip and fall accidents. Whiplash occurs when a person’s head is violently forced forward due to an impact from behind, and is then jerked backwards. This type of injury affects the soft tissues of the neck, particularly the muscles, tendons and ligaments, and is caused by an abnormal force applied to the neck that causes the neck to move beyond its normal range of motion.

Symptoms of Whiplash Injuries

The symptoms commonly associated with whiplash include neck pain, neck swelling, muscle spasms in the neck, tenderness, headaches, difficulty moving the neck, and pain radiating from the neck into one or both shoulders and arms. Some victims of whiplash may suffer from additional symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, nausea and irritability. Unfortunately, some instances of whiplash injuries are disregarded because symptoms don’t immediately arise, increasing the chances of the injury becoming a recurring condition later in life.

Whiplash Injury Treatment

Proper medical treatment for whiplash injuries varies on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature and severity of the injury sustained. Medical care for victims of whiplash injuries typically involves bed rest, immobilization of the neck, anti-inflammatory medications, range of motion exercises, ice therapy, heat therapy, and avoiding excessive neck strain. In severe instances, these injuries may require rehabilitation and physical therapy before they are fully resolved, as well as monitoring to ensure the victim has not suffered any additional injuries.

Serious Complications of Whiplash

Whiplash injuries can lead to serious complications if not immediately treated, including muscle spasms, joint pain, and ligament damage in the upper back and neck. In fact, whiplash is one of the most common causes of chronic pain in developed countries. More severe whiplash cases may cause life-altering complications like permanent neck pain, spinal cord damage, spinal arthritis, chronic pain or chronic headaches. If nerve roots are damaged in the accident, numbness and weakness in the affected area may last until recovery is complete. In approximately 10% of cases of whiplash, the symptoms are severe and in 4%, whiplash victims are unable to return to work.

Legal Help for Victims of Whiplash

Victims of accidents resulting in whiplash are often subjected to debilitating pain following an accident, which can sometimes become a serious condition long after the initial accident occurs. In addition, individuals suffering from recurring pain associated with a previous injury may incur costly medical bills resulting from injury treatment. Unfortunately, connecting this chronic pain to the initial accident and whiplash injury may be difficult, preventing you from collecting the financial compensation you require. The most important step to taking following an accident is to seek medical treatment, even if you don’t notice any immediate injuries. Some of the most serious injuries, including whiplash injuries, are not physically visible and may not arise until hours or even days after the accident. After receiving medical care, the next step victims of accidents should take is to seek legal guidance from an experienced whiplash attorney. With the help of a whiplash attorney, injured victims can seek the compensation they deserve and ensure they receive the medical care their condition requires now and in the future.

Are These Signs My Wife Is Depressed? How To Tell If Your Wife Is Suffering From Depression

Has your wife been acting different lately? Is she being lazy? Mean? Too quiet? When you’re asking yourself “Are these signs my wife is depressed?”, the answer is not always clear. Here are some ways to tell if your wife is depressed, and some things that you can do to help her.

A lot of people think that a depressed person has to be either sad all of the time, or angry all of the time. That isn’t true at all. Depression doesn’t affect everyone the same.

Constant sadness is definitely a sign that your wife is depressed. While it is normal for a person to be sad once in a while, it is NOT normal for someone to be sad all of the time.

If your wife is usually a nice person, and happy most of the time, and she has started being mean and hateful, or getting mad about what seems to be nothing at all, then she is probably depressed.

Please know that these actions are NOT your wife’s fault – she doesn’t even know she’s acting like this! Depending on the severity of the depression, she may know that something’s not quite right, but she doesn’t see the things that you do.

Another sign that your wife is depressed is that she is tired all of the time. Not just tired, but exhausted. All she wants to do is sleep.

Depression drains the life out of a person. A truly depressed person doesn’t want to do anything at all, and they have no energy to do anything. If your wife just lays around all day, she’s not being lazy. It’s not that she is purposely not doing things – she knows things need done, but she just can’t muster up the energy to do them.

The absolute LAST thing you should do, if you see these signs of depression in your wife, is to get angry with her, or to yell at her. Like you, she doesn’t understand what is happening. Try to talk to her. Tell her that you are worried about her.

Let her know that you love her, and would like her to go to see a doctor. Maybe she is sick, and when she gets treated she’ll feel better. If she refuses, try to get her to go by tricking her. Tell her that YOU are sick and have to go to the doctor, and would like her to go with you. So whatever you can to get her to a doctor.

You don’t have to take her to a therapist. Your family doctor can prescribe medicine to help her. Sometimes it’s easier to see your family doctor – that way, she won’t feel funny. She’s just going to the doctor because she doesn’t feel well.

When you think you are seeing signs of depression in your wife, don’t let her get too much further down. If she is depressed now, she can get into a deeper depression soon, and she will be twice as bad as she is now.

Do your best to help her by loving her. Understand that she doesn’t mean to be like this – she is ill right now. Your marriage will see better days soon.

Agoraphobia – The First Steps to Walking Out

As any Agoraphobic knows, this anxiety led condition can be totally debilitating. This is one of the most common phobias but exact statistical data is hard to find as many people suffer in silence. And suffer they do on a daily basis.

Physical contact with the outside world can be so limited that eventually life’s existence is confined to ‘these four walls.’

Observed from the outside it can be difficult to understand why someone wouldn’t want to take a walk in the park, join in family outings, have a job, drive or go shopping for themselves. But as any sufferer of Agoraphobia will tell you they ‘Want To’, probably more than life itself. But, they feel totally unable.

The guilt they feel at not taking part in the family or society circle is a struggle they deal with constantly. These people are not weak. They are not people that are ‘copping out’. They are very strong people who push themselves over and over leaving themselves feeling exhausted.

A person with Agoraphobia could have lived with this condition for a week, a month, a year or even years. But time is irrelevant.

The crucial first step to living a more fulfilling life is Acceptance.

‘Why should I accept when I want to get my life back?

Because, quite simply, acceptance of the condition ends the struggle and the constant inner chatter of punishing ourselves.

It ends the constant questions of ‘Why me?’, ‘What happened in my past to cause this?’, ‘How many years have I wasted?’ ‘Other people get better, why do I still feel the same?

Acceptance allows us to move forward without adding further guilt, stress and anxiety.

Our ever working subconscious mind has helped us to form many habits. The slightest smell, sound or sensation can quickly transform us to a situation we have experienced previously. Memories come flooding back to us in an instant.

Generally, these memories or habits serve us well but in the world of Agoraphobia, when a lot of these memories are linked to past failures, we need to ‘break these habits’.

On waking, don’t leave the bed from your usual side, rise from the other side.

Hang your dressing gown in a different place (buy a new one if possible).

Sit in a different chair for breakfast. If you always eat a certain cereal, change it.

Change as many of your usual habits as possible throughout each and every day. Even re-arrange the furniture if space allows.

By breaking habits and memories the mind/body isn’t going over the same worn out tracks. The conscious mind is busy with new sights, tastes, sensations.

From this new place of Acceptance and changed Habits you are able to build strength, think logically, digest helpful information and move forward on the journey to recovery and the enjoyment of once again living life to the full.

These initial steps are essential foundations to the recovery that will happen. The first steps to opening the door to a new life.

Panic Attack Disorder – Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Panic attack disorder is a chronic condition that develops in someone who constantly fears the possibility of experiencing several or consecutive panic attacks. This kind of situation involves individuals who have experienced an anxiety attack once and end up feeling scared that they might experience it again.

A person under a panic anxiety attack feels an intensive fear that suddenly occurs without any warning or apparent cause. It makes a person think that he is dying or having a heart attack that’s why it is a very frightening experience. Symptoms usually last for about thirty minutes and leaves a fatigued feeling to the individual who had an attack.

Possible Causes of Panic Disorder

Heredity, phobia, medication effects and substance use can be considered as some of the possible causes that trigger an anxiety attack symptom. A panic disorder that runs in the family will probably be inherited. One can trace his family roots to see if this explains a sudden anxiety attack symptom.

Phobias can also explain why someone suffers from panic attacks. It may be that a phobic object or situation has developed this anxiety which causes one to experience anxiety attacks. Moreover, panic disorder can also occur either as a side effect from using medications such as antibiotics or as withdrawal effects from the use of different substances.

Symptoms of a Panic Attack Disorder

One common anxiety or panic attack symptom that many individuals experience is rapid heartbeat similar to that of a heart attack and it makes people feel that they are dying. The increase in heart rate is usually followed by feelings of nausea, pain in the chest and hot flashes.

The other signs that may indicate anxiety attack are agitated breathing, profuse sweating, excessive trembling, difficulty in swallowing, and hyperventilating. It is important that appropriate treatment be sought by an individual suffering from panic disorder because the symptoms can be life-threatening.

Anxiety Attack Treatment

A panic attack cannot be handled alone so it is important to seek medical help for anxiety and depression treatment. Further, to avoid confusing the panic attack symptom with other illnesses such as heart attack, a health consultant can evaluate an individual’s true condition. This should be done early on to avoid worsening one’s health or get the wrong ideas.

Medications such as tricyclic antidepressants or TCAs and monoamine oxidase inhibitors or MAOIs aid in alleviating an anxiety panic attack symptom. Moreover, psychotherapy and counseling can also help an individual understand, learn about and cope with a panic anxiety attack.

It is never easy for any individual to deal with panic attack disorder that’s why it is very essential that he is well-informed about what triggers or causes it and how it can be treated.

Understanding The Benefits of Vitamin B Complex

Vitamin B complex is a group of vitamins that includes thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, B-6, folate, B-12, pantothenic acid, biotin and choline. Some of the benefits of vitamin B complex supplements include increased energy, improved or more stable moods, healthier skin, hair and eyes. The vitamins are important for proper nervous system and immune system function.

Actually, adequate amounts of the vitamin B complex group are needed on a daily basis to insure the proper function of many systems of the human body. Niacin (found in the vitamin B complex group) is found in every cell of the human body. Inadequate amounts of niacin in the diet can result in dermatitis (dry, itchy, inflamed skin), muscle soreness, cramping, exhaustion, insomnia, indigestion, mental problems, sores in the mouth and loss of appetite.

Another very important part of the vitamin B complex group is folate, known until recently as folic acid. Healthy men and women over the age of 13 need at least 400 mg per day. Women who are pregnant or nursing need more to support the growth needs of infants. Deficiencies can result in a variety of learning disabilities and growth problems.

No upper limits have been established for the vitamin B complex group. No toxic affects have been noted, except after intravenous injections of pharmaceutical quantities. When taken orally, the body uses what it needs and excretes anything that is left over.

The benefits of vitamin B complex to the elderly include improved memory and mood. No matter what their age, most people notice an improvement in memory and ability to concentrate, as well as a decrease in depressed feelings and irritability.

Vitamin B complex is used by the body to convert carbohydrates into glucose, which is then converted by the cells into energy, commonly referred to as metabolism. The symptoms of vitamin B complex deficiency are similar to symptoms of low blood sugar levels. Increased irritability is one of the first symptoms. Those with sluggish metabolisms or problems controlling their weight often benefit from vitamin B complex supplements.

Most people who start taking a vitamin B complex supplement notice an increase in energy immediately. If you suffer from dry skin or hair, it may take a few weeks to notice a difference, but you will see an improvement.

It is nearly impossible to get adequate amounts of the vitamin B complex from a typical daily diet. In addition, certain things increase an individual’s daily vitamin B complex requirements. Drinking coffee or alcohol increases the need for the B vitamins. Taking birth control pills, sulfa drugs and sleeping medications increase the need for the vitamin B complex group. It is interesting to note that a lack of vitamin B complex in the diet can lead to insomnia, which could lead someone to ask for a sleep aid, which increases the need for the vitamins. Before you reach for a sleeping pill, you may want to look at your diet and whether or not you are getting adequate amounts of the vitamin B complex group.

Can Oil Of Oregano Help With Arthritis?

Arthritis is a medical condition that affects the musculoskeletal system, specifically the joints. It is the major cause of disability of people who are over 55 years old. There are many types of arthritis but the most common are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gouty arthritis. Each of them has different symptoms but all of them are characterized by pain, inflammation and stiffness of joints. It is not uncommon for those who are suffering from severe cases of arthritis to experience disability and loss of function.

An important factor in the maintenance of your health is the ability of your body to tolerate wear and tear before its inflammatory auto-immune ability begins to function. This is vital especially when you are under stressful situations. Modern research has shown that there are certain T cells that act to regulate your tolerance to stress by activating a natural anti-inflammatory defence system known as heat shock proteins or HSP. Your longevity is directly related to your ability to activate these HSPs.

Researches have conducted animal laboratory studies which showed that carvacrol, a main component of oil of oregano can activate HSP through the regulatory T cells and stop experimentally produced arthritis. The researchers concluded that oregano oil had an “unprecedented capacity” to activate HSP through the T cells. The experimentally induced arthritis was completely suppressed. That meant carvacrol can indeed increase the responses of the protective T cells against self-stress protein and reduce the inflammation.

In addition, an earlier animal experiment showed the ability of carvacrol as a potent painkiller. This correlates beautifully with the fact that oil of oregano can be of benefit to those who are suffering from arthritis.

Oil of oregano is a natural product derived from the wild oregano plant Origanum vulgare. This plant is found originally in the mountain tops of Greece, Turkey and Portugal. The special combination of the soil minerals and the climate in this region are believed to be the reasons why oregano oil contains very powerful substances. The early Greeks have used this plant for the treatment of their common ailments.

With the help of our modern scientists, it is now confirmed that this essential oil can really be effective as a mode of treatment for many diseases. The reason is that oil of oregano contains many phenols that can be used for antimicrobial purposes. One of its active components is carvacrol, which (as have been previously mentioned) can be very effective in treating arthritis.

If you are suffering from arthritis, you can use oil of oregano to alleviate your pain and the inflammation of your joints. Here are some ways you can use this essential oil for this purpose.

• Mix 1 drop of oregano oil with 5 drops of virgin olive oil or coconut oil. Apply this mixture to your affected joints generously.

• Use this same mixture to relieve yourself from sprains, cramps, bursitis, sore muscles and different inflammatory problems.

• To facilitate the treatment, you can also take oil of oregano internally by adding two drops of the oil to a glass of water or juice drink. There are also oregano capsules that you can take if you can’t tolerate its taste. It is advised that you drink more water to enhance the curative effect of the oil.

It is always a good practice to do a patch test before applying oregano oil in large areas of your skin. This will tell you if you have allergic reactions to this substance. If that’s the case, you need to dilute the oil with virgin olive oil or coconut oil to soften its effects.

Oil of oregano for arthritis is really worth a try.

Fitness Boxing & Hand Protection: 9 Quick Tips to Protect Your Hands

Here is the question I get most when I teach Boxing for Fitness: “I’m only doing this for Fitness – so do I really need to protect my hands?”

I usually reply: “Only if your hands are important to you.”

You don’t need to be a Pro runner to wear good shoes and protect your feet. And you don’t need to be a Pro boxer to protect your hands.

Here are some other questions I get about hands, gloves and Fitness Boxing – along with my answers. Hope it helps!

Why should Beginners protect their hands for a Boxing Workout? Boxing & MMA workouts are hot right now, so more beginners are starting. Unless they are bare knuckle street fighters in their spare time these beginners probably don’t have conditioned hands. Beginners may need to protect their hands more than Pros – who have been conditioned and know how to make a proper fist. Boxing, even for Fitness, is an impact sport. Beginners are vulnerable.

What sort of hand injuries can I get from a Fitness Boxing Workout? Over the last 16 years of teaching I’ve seen bruised and split knuckles, sprains, strains and jarred wrists – just to name a few.

What causes hand injuries during a Fitness Boxing Workout? The most common is neglecting to wrap the hands, or wearing flimsy, skinny gloves. One female Personal Trainer I know had very sore knuckles for 6 weeks, following a workout where she did not wear hand wraps.

Does poor punching technique play a role in hand injuries during Fitness Boxing Workouts? Yes.The first thing we teach beginners is to punch with their front 2 or 3 main knuckles. But this takes time. Often they will “miss hit” and strike with the fingers or thumb. Also it takes time to “mold” a strong, straight wrist.

What about Technique on the Punch Mitts? Technique on Punch Mitts, also called Focus Pads or Focus Mitts also play a role in hand injuries. For example, new mitt-holders often angle the position for the Uppercut or the Hook incorrectly and the “Boxer” hits the mitt at an awkward angle, jarring their wrist or knuckles.

Another error is “whacking back” too hard. This is when the mitt holder hits the incoming punch too hard. It’s OK to brace when catching a punch, just don’t hit back too hard. Catch it, don’t whack it.

So what equipment do I need? Hand wraps are essential and go underneath your gloves. These are like long cloth bandages. I prefer the elasticized type – about $10. Wash separately – they do run. There are also “Ezy wraps” which are simpler to put on. Boxing gloves have more padding and support than bag gloves and are worth the extra money. Women usually get 8,10 or 12 oz Gloves while men usually get for 12, 14 or 16 oz.

What about Punching Bags? Although punching bags don’t hit back they have still bruised many hands and jarred plenty of wrists. They are not as soft as they look, especially at the bottom where the fill collects. Always wear hand wraps and solid gloves. Warm up too, and be mindful of the swinging bag which can come at you fast making for an awkward target.

How do I wrap my hands? I show my students the “rule of 3.” That’s 3 times around the wrist, then 3 times around the knuckles, then 3 times around the wrist again. Then, once up around the thumb, 3 times around the knuckles again and finish on the wrist with the remaining length. Firm but not too tight. There are many different ways to wrap hands. For example, wrapping between the knuckles. A web search will reveal plenty of instructional videos.

What about MMA (mixed martial arts) style finger less gloves? These gloves may not offer as much protection as full boxing gloves, until you are used to them. Also, watch out for scraping the smaller knuckles and finger tips, which are exposed.

May you get Fighting Fit.

Ask Yourself, How Deadly Can Chronic Sinusitis Be

Chronic sinusitis is one type of sinusitis that rarely occurs to people. It usually takes a longer time to clear up than the other types of sinusitis conditions. A combination of numerous factors is said to be responsible for the occurrence of chronic sinusitis one of them being allergic reactions from substances such as pollen, mold and dust. When these allergens (factors that contribute to allergic reactions in the body) are inhaled, they cause a chain of reactions and as a result of this, body compounds which include histamine, are released as products. Histamine on the other hand, is known to inflame the nostril tracts and therefore making the lining of the air pathways to swell and in turn cause an obstruction of air in the air passages. This action makes it conducive for the bacteria present in the nostrils to multiply and infect the sinuses. Another way that this type of sinusitis can come to happen is through structural defects found in the nose. This may include the existence of minute growths commonly known as polyps in the nostrils or at times having a deviated septum (a bony section separating the 2 nasal passages).

When you have chronic sinusitis, you always find it hard to breathe because of the air blockage in the air passages. This forces you to breathe with more effort and for this reason, pain is usually felt in places where sinuses are located and this may contribute to headaches. Nasal congestion then follows up due to mucus from the mucous glands being produced in plenty and accumulating in the air passages. As if all this is not enough, coughing catches up with you and then sneezing follows and finally a nasal discharge resembling pus starts coming out of your nose frequently. Moreover, for a severe case of chronic sinusitis, the patient may not be able to smell any kind of smell or odor coming out of substances. However, something different with chronic sinusitis is that, instead of the patient experiencing fever like in many other types of sinusitis conditions, under chronic sinusitis, the patient always feels fatigued instead and this makes the person needing to rest every time they get a chance.

Several complications can occur due to the presence of chronic sinusitis in the body. Meningitis is one common complication that may occur because of suffering a severe case of this type of sinusitis. For a person to have meningitis, it will mean that the disease must have spread to the brain. Vision problems are also commonly noticed by people who let the infection spread until it reaches the eye socket where it impairs the person’s ability to see properly.

People who have health conditions which destroy the body immune system like AIDS, Diabetes and so on, are said to be prone to this type of sinusitis since the body does not have enough white blood cells and necessary antibodies to fight it out with the infectious bacteria. This is why you will always see that the infection takes a long time to heal even when the patient is on medication.

Once your doctor has diagnosed you with chronic sinusitis, he will be able to prescribe a suitable course of treatment for you. This may include medicine such as antibiotics which include Amoxillin antibiotics or suggest other therapeutic measures such as administering nasal sprays which operate by shrinking whatever swelling has taken place in the nostrils. Home remedies like drinking hot liquids throughout the day may also help ease the situation. Hot liquids such as hot tea, help moisturize your cilia (minute hairs found on the surfaces of cells found in the nose which help wipe out any excess mucus in the nostrils) thus making them move with high speed and in the process, removing any content of mucus in the nostril that may cause congestion.

However, in cases whereby structural abnormalities are the main cause of chronic sinusitis, surgery seems to be the best option. For children, the condition is most of the time cured by extracting their adenoids which always prove to be the main obstructors of air in the air passages and in adults, removal of polyps has always been seen as the most suitable way to treat chronic sinusitis once and for all.

Pain and Inflammation Gone With Serrapeptase

It is amazing how a squirmy silkworm can make a life changing difference from a life filled with pain, painful inflammation or disease and change it to a life of health and happiness. Serrapeptase has been used in Europe and Asia for over 30 years to replace the chemical agents referred to as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). Serrapeptase is an alternative to aspirin, ibuprofen and other OTC (over the counter) medications. As a nature created protease enzyme agent that has no known side effects when used, it does not harm your body or organs. Just the opposite is true, it heals and removes many of the disease or harmful deposits that can cause you pain, inflammation, some cancers and arterial blockages.

What is this wonder enzyme? It has been titled and correctly so, “The Miracle Enzyme” by Robert Redfern.

Isolated from the microorganism, Serratia E15, Serrapeptase is a proteolytic enzyme (protease) that will work in the human body to remove scar tissue (dead tissue) and has a strong anti-inflammatory effect within our bodies. We can thank the silkworm for this miracle. This enzyme was originally found in the silkworm intestine. The silkworm uses it to digest the mulberry leaf and also create a hole in its hard cocoon so that it could exit and a moth and fly off. As we know, the outer layer on the cocoon is the origin of silk that is used in thread and then made into clothing. Today this enzyme is a commercial product derived through fermentation. The history and art of making silk is a fascinating story and one I enjoyed reading about.

Serrapeptase has so many case studies and amazing results that it would be difficult not to place it in a healing category all by itself. There are results showing it dissolving dead tissue, cysts, arterial plaque, inflammation and dissolving the substance that holds blood clots together. There does not seem to be many conditions or diseases in our bodies that have not been reported for this enzyme to improve or clear.

I personally have seen the effects of Serrapeptase in the improvement of removing scar tissue from my foot that was so painful I could hardly walk. Now I can go and do most everything without the unbearable pain. The doctor recommended 2 separate surgeries to remove the scar tissue so that I would not loose a toe due to the surgery and lack of blood flow. I also have PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica) a very painful and debilitating disease, requiring a steroid daily treatment to reduce the pain from the inflammation in my body. I have to have blood tests every 6 weeks and since I have been taking Serrapeptase, my blood results have dropped and I am taking less steroids. I will not go into the effects of taking a steroid but believe me, it is not good for the body and organs. I am thankful for the results I have noticed since taking Serrapeptase and expect the results to continue to improve. Oh, by the way, the results I noticed started within 2 weeks of taking Serrapeptase and prior to that, no changes in the pain or inflammation in either condition for over a year.

My sister is taking the enzyme and has also noticed great results. She has for many years had lumps in her legs that have made it very painful to walk or stand. She noticed that after just 2 weeks on Serrapeptase, that in her shopping in Walmart, which normally she can only walk for about 10 minutes, she had been there over 40 minutes and noticed the reduced pain. She has also had several surgeries for her sinus condition over the years and has noticed a clearing of that problem also. She has called several times to thank me for sending her the first bottle. She is a believer and has re-ordered multi-bottles 2 additional times.

I will list some of the conditions that have shown anywhere from a slight, to what is considered a miracle in the results of using Serrapeptase. There many experts and reports that verify the positive results of Serrapeptase, some are documented on my website as examples and I am truly amazed at the wonderful results that have been reported.

There are many other diseases and conditions that can be helped or eliminated by the use of Serrapeptase. New results are being reported all the time and I expect to see many new amazing results as time continues. Serrapeptase was so valuable in its results, that in Germany, a prescription was required to get this enzyme. It has been used and researched in Europe and Asia for over 30 years. Serrapeptase was not introduced into the United States until 2002 and now we have it available here to improve our Health also.

It should be noted that like any other natural or herbal supplement, you should talk with your doctor to make sure there are no situations or medications that could affect your health condition while taking Serrapeptase. There are no known side effects with this enzyme and the dosage can vary depending on your personal condition. I personally started with a higher dosage and will reduce the amount to a maintenance dosage once I have reached the improvements in my body.

Serrapeptase can be taken by adults, children, dogs and horses. There have been dramatic results in animals with diseases like Arthritis and tumors. The tablet form can be taken whole or chewed up. The capsule can be taken whole or split and added to juice, water or honey. It is great for sore throats when dissolved and swallowed slowly. It will normally work within 15 to 30 minutes to eliminate the sore throat. To be most effective, Serrapeptase is enteric coated to pass through the stomach and be dissolved in the intestines. It should be taken on an empty stomach and can be taken up to 3 times a day and multiple tablets/capsules may be taken to achieve your maximum goal.

“Serrapeptase may become the most widely used nutritional supplement of all time because of it’s effectiveness with such a wide range of conditions”

Robert Redfern, Nutrition Researcher and Author

Managing Penis Odor – Battling Below the Belt Smells With Vitamin A

No man wants to be the smelly guy at the office. In fact, Americans spend a lot of money each year on anti-smell products to ensure they stay shower fresh all day long. Most men keep their bathroom well stocked with a large assortment of deodorants, body washes, antiperspirants, foot sprays, toothpastes, mouth washes, body sprays and colognes – all so he can hear those three little words he longs to hear. No, not the phrase with the “L-word;”rather, he smells good. What man doesn’t want hear he smells good? It gives a man a boost of confidence and shows he takes pride in his grooming — and it sure beats being told dude, take a shower. Even still, with all the olfactory assistance men are seeking these days, few of them think to take care of odor that can occur down there. They assume that a daily shower will keep the stink at bay, and for the general public who keep a reasonable distance, it does; but what happens if a man should find himself in a more intimate setting? The last thing he wants to be worrying about is a sweaty, smelly sac or some funky junk. Learn the secret to fighting a musky manhood and how to maintain a healthy penis.

5 Reasons for a Ripe Package

Even the man who never misses a shower, stays cool as a cucumber all day long, and reapplies deodorant religiously is going to have a slight odor by the end of the day. A man is a man is a man, and the bottom line is, men sweat. Here are 5 reasons a man might have a smelly manhood and not even know it.

  • Hair – Yup, men who prefer the natural cave man look are going to have a little more of a musk than men who shave their package. Long pubic hair not only increases bacterial growth – by holding in moisture and heat – and the hair actually absorbs some of the smell, trapping the odor where the sun don’t shine.
  • Urine – It is unavoidable; those last few droplets of urine dribble out despite even the most refined shaking method post-pee. This urine collects on underwear, boxers, pubic hair and even the penis itself, which contributes to the unpleasant smell men hope to avoid.
  • Hygiene issues – A man who is lazy in the shower, or maybe only does a quick rinse after hitting the gym, may be more prone to being on the smelly side of life. It is important to do a thorough wash with gentle soap and water to get the daily grime off each day.
  • Foreskin – A man who is uncircumcised is going to be more prone to a smelly soldier, unfortunately, as bacteria can thrive underneath that little penis helmet. Gently retracting the foreskin and washing under it can reduce the problem immensely.
  • Yeast – If a man should notice a fishy smell, see cheesy or whitish discharge, or experience itching or burning while peeing, he may be suffering from a yeast infection, also known as thrush. Bacteria are the cause of this annoying problem, but luckily it is easily treated.

Battling Below the Belt Odor

Of course, the best way of battling the smell is to go directly to the source. If a man can eliminate or reduce the bacteria in the area, the smell will go with it. Using a gentle soap and water every day will help reduce the problem. Some men even elect to use an antibacterial soap to further fight the smell, but user beware, stronger soaps may cause a burning sensation if it should get up the old pee hole. Keeping the pubic hair trimmed may reduce odor as well, as there will be less chance of smells becoming trapped in the area. Finally, using a penis health formula containing vitamin A (health experts recommend Man 1 Man Oil) can dramatically improve the situation downtown. Vitamin A is known for its antibacterial properties and can attack the number one cause of penis odor, bacteria, so be sure to lotion up daily for a healthy (smell-free) member.
