Stem Cell Transplantation to Help Cure Cerebral Palsy

Medical Researchers are working hard to determine if stem cell transplants can help cure cerebral palsied children. Cerebral palsy is a result of brain damage or abridgement of oxygen in the brain before or during the birth. A person affected with cerebral palsy normally has slow development, delay in movement skills, learning, hearing, and other such disabilities. According to the Centers for Disease Control, two to three Children in 1,000 are affected with cerebral palsy.

Normally, prolonged deliveries can result in lack of oxygen in the brain resulting in permanent damage of the brain. Doctors and nurses attending to the delivery should be highly cautions and act as per the standards of care to make sure that the baby is delivered in healthy condition. However, according to researchers, in cases of brain damage due to birth complications, stem cell transplantation may be able to help repair and restore damaged brain.

Stem cell transplants tested on animals have shown that mature stem cells from the bone marrow will move to the site of brain injury. More research is being carried out to enhance this process in a natural way. New tests have been carried out on animals where the bone marrow is removed from one group and transplanted into a different group to see the effects. The cells from the bone marrow are transplanted into the vascular system of the other group and monitored to see whether the transplanted cells will move to the brain and help repair damaged brain cells as well as make fresh ones. Researchers are observing if they can transplant the cells into the right place and make the brain function normally.

Doctors believe that the stem cell transplantation idea has a great potential and once it is a success, it will truly be a new milestone in curing cerebral palsy and other allied.

"Analysis Paralysis" Getting Unstuck

So for some time now you have wanted to improve your life with “personal growth”, that catch-all phrase to somehow ‘be better’, ‘feel better’, ‘do better’. Or to start, grow or improve your business.

If you are anything like me, you love information, to learn, to study, you love books and anything else that can teach you what you want/need to know. I could be a professional student! The other side of that coin is that I and those like me can become stuck in Analysis Paralysis. We are so focused on learning, researching what we need to know to improve ourselves and/or our career that we forget to put it into ACTION. And then we wonder why nothing changes. Or things are going far too slowly.

Light Bulb moment coming…… without ACTION there is no attraction! If you take care of the action, the attraction will always take care of itself. You think you are in action with all your research when in fact, what you are ‘into’ is “preparation syndrome”. It’s a kind of avoidance, it helps you hide behind the fear that is lurking in the background. The ‘what if I fail’ or ‘what if I succeed’ fear. Or the ‘maybe I’m not good enough’ or ‘what will others think’ fear.

Time to lock that junk in the trunk and find the motivation that will propel you into real action. That is your sole (soul) responsibility, because if you are looking for someone else to motivate you, it won’t happen. What you can do is put yourself into certain circumstances or environments wherein you can find your own motivation.

As an illustration, think of a time when you tried to motivate someone. How difficult it is to ‘motivate’ your child! Rather than cajoling, giving orders or downright threats, a parent could spend daily, 30 minute, one on one time with their four-year old playing a game, going for a walk, interacting, (not watching TV) and doing something that is of interest to her. Within a very short time parent will experience how much more cooperative he is.

The wise parent has provided an environment for their child to be motivated (want) to do the things or behave in the ways asked of him.

This is what the Universe (your parent) does for you. It provides an environment through the Law of Attraction wherein you can feel your own motivation. Just look at the word “motivation”. The root word is ‘motion’.

By now you know the Law of Attraction works. You’ve learned that what you focus on you attract, both positive and negative. You’ve watched “The Secret”, read the book, listened to other teachers. You have done as instructed and written daily goals, and created your Vision Board. That’s the learning/study part. You are now inspired (root word ‘in sprit’)!

For some, this is the analysis paralysis point. You think that by studying more, reading more, buying more courses, attending more workshops and spending all your time with endless preparation, you will achieve your goals. You think you are in action and in some ways you are, but not in the way you need to be.

Let’s say one of your written goals is to own a brand new luxury Hybrid car (because, of course, you want to do your part to improve the environment!). So you study Hybrid technology, you work out gas mileages for trips, and work out all the reasons why you should own a Hybrid car, when what you really need to be doing is the how to own a Hybrid car. What are the first steps?

You choose a brand of Hybrid car. You go down to the dealer. You drive the car. You have your picture taken with the car (and put it on your Vision Board!). You talk to the salesperson about prices, colours, options. Action steps! Now the Universe is really perking up. The attraction vibes are resonating!

It’s the same with starting a new career or business. At some point you must get out of the preparation stage and go into action. Graduate from school.

You know what you want, you’ve meditated on (studied) it, you have visualized it with written goals, vision boards and pictures in your mind. Now it’s time to take definite action.

Do not worry if you’re unsure of what action you need to take, by staying focused on what it is you want to attract, the action you need to take will come to you. Be aware, keep your antennae up. It may come as an inspired thought, a “Bingo!” moment or a moment of clarity at an unexpected time such as driving your car, or through something a person said. The way it comes is not important. Trust that the answer will come.

So do something, anything to move you toward your goal(s). Definite action, when applied toward your goal, manifests miracles through the Law of Attraction. One of the greatest mistakes is to over-analyze whether you are doing the right thing, or you don’t know enough or you are not prepared enough.

Start with baby steps, what you think to be right. As you go into action, things will occur to guide you towards the end result. Stay aware, look for them, recognize them.

Hernia – Signs and Symptoms of Hernia

A hernia may be likened to a failure in the sidewall of a pneumatic tire. The tire's inner tube behaves like the organ and the side wall like the body cavity wall providing the restraint. A weakness in the sidewall allows a bulge to develop, which can become a split, allowing the inner tube to protrude, and leading to the eventual failure of the tire. Hernias may present either with pain at the site, a visible or palpable lump, or in some cases by more vague symptoms resulting from pressure on an organ which has become "stuck" in the hernia, sometimes leading to organ dysfunction. Fatty tissue usually enters a hernia first, but it may be followed by or accompanied by an organ.

Hernia occurs when the contents of a body cavity bulge out of the area where they are normally contained. These contents, usually portions of intestine or abdominal fatty tissue, are enclosed in the thin membrane that naturally lines the inside of the cavity. Although the term hernia can be used for bulges in other areas, it most often is used to describe hernias of the lower torso (abdominal wall hernias).

The femoral canal is the path through which the femoral artery, vein, and nerve leave the abdominal cavity to enter the thigh. Although normally a tight space, sometimes it becomes large enough to allow abdominal contents (usually intestine) into the canal. A femoral hernia causes a bulge just below the inguinal crease in roughly the mid-thigh area. Usually occurring in women, femoral hernias are particularly at risk of becoming irreducible (not able to be pushed back into place) and strangulated.

Signs and Symptoms of Hernia

Early on, the hernia may be reducible – the protruding structures can be pushed back gently into their normal places. If those structures, however, can not be returned to their normal locations through manipulation, the hernia is said to be irreducible, or incarcerated.

The vast majority of hiatal hernias are of the sliding type, and most of them are not associated with symptoms. The larger the hernia, the more likely it is to cause symptoms. When sliding hiatal hernias produce symptoms, they almost always are those of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or its complications.

In developing baby boys, a hole in the abdomen allows the testicles to descend into the scrotum. In girls, a similar opening may exist even though the ovaries do not descend out of the abdomen. Normally, this hole closes before a baby is born. A hernia results when a sac protrudes through the opening and the lining of the abdominal cavity.

About five in every 100 children have inguinal hernias. Inguinal hernias in newborns and children result from a deficiency in the abdominal wall that's present at birth. Sometimes the hernia may be visible only when an infant is crying, coughing or training during a bowel movement. In an older child, a hernia is likely to be more noticeable when the child coughs, strains during a bowel movement or stands for a long period of time.

A hiatal hernia by itself rarely causes symptoms – pain and discomfort are usually due to the reflux of gastric acid, air, or bile. Reflux happens more easily in the presence of hiatal hernia, though a hiatal hernia is not the only cause of reflux.

Pain or discomfort in your groin, especially when bending over, coughing or lifting. A heavy or dragging sensation in your groin. Occasionally, in men, pain and swelling in the scrotum around the testicles when the protruding intestine descends into the scrotum

Short History Of Facial Surgery

The origins of facial surgery are strictly related to the ones of cosmetic surgery in general. The techniques were invented a long time ago, but because of the lack of advanced medical equipment they were not able to produce significant improvements. The first historical documents related to facial surgery date from 4,000 years ago and were discovered in India. However, the techniques were mainly used as a punishment for crimes.

Cosmetic surgery as we know it has been practiced by over 100 years. The advantages nowdays are the use of much more varied techniques, well standardized, as well as the special equipment developed for this purpose and the limited number of risks associated with facial surgery and the rapid healing process.

Many techniques for restoring facial defects were invented after World War I. That was also the period of time when more and more patients decided to undergo surgery, in an attempt to mask the aesthetic effects of time passage. And from there to the worldwide popularity of the techniques and equipment used as part of this intervention it was only a small step.

Facelift is unduly the most popular facial surgery operation, specializing in treating different reas of the face, including the lower part, central forehead and even eyebrows. In addition to this, rhinoplasty is another useful intervention, very famous for its high rate of success. Eyelids and ears can also be quickly corrected, without even requiring general anesthesia and offering a very quick healing process.

Because the face is a segment of the body with hundreds of anatomical formations, each with its own dynamics, either synergistic or antagonistic, a great number of techniques were developed, addressing different levels of the face, including the upper, middle and lower region. A surgeon must be fully aware of the anatomy of and dynamics of the patient's face in order to be able to choose what is best and operate efficiently. Because of this complexity, there is no universal technique that can solve all the problems.

For example, wrinkles elimination and fixing an unpleasant skin texture can also be done using non-surgical methods. Furthermore, changes in volume are usually achieved by injections or implant in the domestic area. Obviously, each method has resolved in a favorable direction. It is vital for every patient to discuss their realistic expectations with the surgeon in detail. This is the only way to achieve the desired results in a reliably short period of time.

5 Tips for Selecting Your Converter

The overall performance of most stock cars with stock engines is usually best when using stock converters. Minor changes in cam-shafts that push the power range up in RPM may require a different converter. If you find yourself in this situation, you will need to buy a new one. Keep the following in mind when trying to select a converter for your vehicle:

1.) Race Converters are Not for Regular Cars!

It is important to understand if your car is driven on a regular road, it is most likely not a race car. Race car converters will not provide satisfactory performance for a regular vehicle so do not waste your time looking at those types of converters.

2.) Select a Converter for Your Engine Type

Do not install a converter designed for a small-block into a car with a large-displacement or high torque engine. Some companies state right in their ads "not for use with big-block engines." This statement does not mean that the converter is low quality and the additional toque from a strong running big-block engine is going to kill it. This also means that the low-speed coupling efficiency is designed more for engines that produce less torque. High-torque big-block engines or even small-block engines with large displacement should use converters closely matched to their power output at lower engine speeds.

3.) Do not Add a Converter the is Too Loose with A Street RPM Engine

If you have a race car and you do this, you'll run out of RPM much too early in the quarter-mile race. Most vehicles are set up to go through the quarter-mile in high gear. It is important to keep in mind that the efficiency of converters is greatly influenced by the engine RPM at the trap seed. We've seen loose converters close nearly 1,000 RPM in high great and this should be factored into converter selection.

4.) Consider All Variables Such as Tire Size, Gear Ratio and Maximum RPM

All reputable part suppliers will ask about these aspects on your car prior to selling you your converter. Know all of these characteristics before going to buy your part.

The correct converter will provide some minor creep in Drive at your normal idle speed and will allow normal acceleration in traffic without excessive slippage and high RPM. It will provide a constant speed on the road without noticeable engine RPM changes when climbing and descending hills.

5.) A Torque-Converter Clutch can Improve your Converter

The torque-converter clutch (TCC) can be used to halt all torque multiplication for drag racing, road racing and many racers will use the TCC as early as second gear to provide a direct coupling between the engine and rear axle. This allows for a reliably loose converter to be used for maximum starting-line performance and still see the benefits of full power transfer during the run and lowest possible RPM at trap speeds.

The multiple-disk clutch assemblies increase the amount of friction material to greatly increase holding power when the TCC is applied. The pump cover and pump assembly are made of much stronger materials to hold their shape properly. These converters are available from most companies for applications where the user plans on using the TCC when the engine is making full power and they want all of the power produced to go directly to the transmission.

How to Get Relief From Shingles Pain

Shingles is a painful skin condition caused by the chickenpox virus called herpes zoster. Shingles is characterized by clusters of fluid-filled blisters running along nerve paths in the body. The blisters usually itch and may be painful to the touch. The affected nerves are responsible for the pain associated with shingles. Different drugs and medications can provide relief from shingles pain.

Pain Relievers

In general, over-the-counter drugs are sufficient to manage the pain of shingles sufferers. Most people take naproxen and ibuprofen to gain relief from pain. Some older adults, however, may suffer nerve pain so intense as to require strong prescription painkillers. The narcotic oxycodone, a prescription drug, can be used to treat shingles pain.

Anti-viral Medications

Antiviral medications can reduce the intensity and duration of the symptoms of shingles. These antiviral drugs include famciclovir, acyclovir and valacyclovir. They must be used immediately, preferably within 72 hours after symptoms start to appear, in order to control the infection.

Topical Pain Relief

Some people find shingles pain relief with topical medications. The topical anesthetic lidocaine is often effective in controlling pain and can be applied while sores are still active. Capsaicin cream can be applied when the blisters have crusted over. Topical aspirin or triethanolamine salicylate (Aspercreme) may also be used, as well as menthol-containing preparations such as high-strength Flexall.

Home Remedies

Applying a cold compress to the blisters often brings relief from pain. Itching and pain associated with shingles can also be reduced by bathing in a cool tub with oatmeal or baking soda.

Persistent Shingles Pain

Even after the rash has healed, some patients continue to experience chronic pain. Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a common complication in shingles sufferers. The painful irritation caused by the herpes zoster virus on the nerves can persist for months or even years. This kind of shingles pain can be extremely severe and debilitating.

The duration and treatment for the acute pain of shingles and the chronic pain of PHN are different. Shingles pain that is experienced at the initial outbreak usually responds well to treatment and is often short-term. In contrast, PHN takes longer to treat and is often incapacitating. It also occurs more frequently in older people.

The pain can be so intense that even clothing or a light touch cannot be tolerated on the affected area. PHN sufferers may lose the ability to perform their daily tasks and this may lead to loss of independence and depression. Oftentimes, many PHN sufferers receive no relief from their pain no matter what medication or therapies they use.

Treatment methods for PHN include topical analgesics, tricyclic antidepressants, gabapentin and opioid analgesics. A combination of different treatment methods is often used as no single therapy is one hundred percent effective. Using one or more of these therapeutic methods along with antivirals during the shingles infection can help prevent or reduce the pain and duration of PHN.

Panic Attacks – What You Need To Know and How To Fix Them

Panic attacks are characterized by extreme and sudden feelings of anxiety and fear that take on physical symptoms such as shortness of breath, a pounding heart and dizziness. Individuals who are experiencing panic attacks feel out of control, in danger and even like they are dying. Panic attacks generally last less than 20 minutes. However, the sudnessness of the physical symptoms often leads individuals to believe that they are having a heart attack. If an individual begins to experience these types of episodes consistently and overtime, they may be diagnosed with panic disorder.

Panic attacks can paralyze an individual socially and discourage them from doing the things that they once loved. It may also lead them to avoid being around other people. This is often due to the fear that social interaction may trigger a panic attack, which can be very embarrassing for one who suffers from panic attacks. Health professionals do not have a definitive answer for why panic attacks occur. However, the symptoms are those associated with the body's natural response to danger, and extreme stress. As a result, the body begins to pump adrenaline, leading to a fight or flight response that is often characterized with increased blood pressure, heart pounding and shortness of breath.

Some health experts believe that panic attacks occur due to familial history or even a brain imbalance. Other health experts simply are not sure what the origins are. However some common, stated causes include alcohol abuse, mental illness, depression, hyperthyroidism, prolonged stress or drug use. In order to cure panic attacks, individuals should consider taking the following steps.

1. Avoid Triggers: Individuals struggling with getting a punishment on their panic attacks should avoid situations, people or places that trigger these panic attacks if at all possible, at least until they develop an action plan to combat them.

2. Attack the Trigger: Working through and dealing with the root of the problem will be necessary in order to permanently cure pandemic attacks.

3. Deal with Physical Issues: If there is a physical link to one's panic attacks, then it should be properly deal with, ie, medication changes or ceasing illegal drug ingestion. If one's panic attacks are due to a hyperthyroid problem, a doctor's visit and proper medical treatment is in order.

4. Consider Counseling: One may also want to visit a psychiatrist to determine if overgoing counseling is necessary.

5. Schedule a Doctor's Visit: A visit to one's doctor is absolutely necessary. A complete physical might provide some undercoming cause to the problem. One may also be able to be referred to a specialist or prescribed some type of medication to get one back on the road to recovery.

Panic attacks affect millions of Americans. While this condition can be of scary, frustrating and confusing, it does not have to go untreated. There is hope. There are effective ways for one to cure their panic attacks and get back the life that has been lost. It will require commitment to either avoiding triggers or challenging the triggers head on. There may also be a physical component to one's panic attacks and it is best that one visit a doctor to either rule this out or to find a medical solution to the problem.

Boston Terrier: The Standard and Does it Matter?

To compete with your Boston Terrier you will need to understand the requirements and procedures used for judging. The American Kennel Club releases breed standards for each breed of dog and the Boston Terriers specifications can be found here. You can also check more specialized clubs for the information about required standards for your Boston Terrier. The American Kennel club is currently revising these standards.

If you want your Boston Terrier to take part in dog shows then you will need to understand the standards and how they relate to your dog. If you already own or are thinking about owning a Boston Terrier and would like to compete (or show off your dog) here's a guide to understanding breed specifications.

It's important to note that these are descriptions of ideal Boston Terriers.

Competition ranking systems: Dogs are judged out of a total 100 score. When judging Boston Terriers this score follows the following elements:

– General Appearance

– Size, Proportion, Substance

– Head – skull shape, characteristics of eyes, ears, muzzle, jaw shape.

– Neck, Topline and Body

– Forequarters

– Gait

– Coat

– Temperament

Faults in the breed (grounds for disqualification)

Any tracks of blue or blue eyes – eyes must be dark

Dudley nose – This means a loss of pigmentation in the nose and it is pink or flesh colored, however when Boston's are first born and up to 6 months their nose will be pink. It will change to the color black so do not let this hinder you from buying a Boston with a pink nose.

Docked tail – This reflects to the practice of cutting tails. It is an outdated practice and your dog will be disqualified.

Lack of required markings

Other serious faults

Wry mouth – one side of the mouth is longer than the other.

Any showing of the tongue / teeth when the mouth is closed

Other faults

Blocky or chunky appearance

Overshot bite / undershot bite – much like human 'faults' this just means an over or under bite.

The Boston Terriers make a great family pet. They are highly intelligent, loyal, great with children and very easy going. They are not considered fighters but certainly can hold their own. If you do not plan to show your Boston then these qualifications do not mean a thing. Boston Terriers are the perfect all around companion just the way they are.

Masturbation Vacation: Taking a Break From Solo Sex

Incorporating masturbation into the mix of one’s sex life is always a good idea, yet on occasion it can also pay to take a little vacation from solo sexual activity. Sometimes there may be a penis health reason for this, such as giving the member a well-earned rest, but there can be other reasons to embark upon a “no fap” period as well.

The right amount.

There’s endless debate among men as to what is the “right amount” of masturbation a man should engage in. Years ago, of course, men were told that if they did it too much, they’d go blind or would grow hairy palms. Nowadays, men know that this is not true, but the question of how much is too much is still up in the air.

One reason for this is that there is no one specific answer that applies to all men. For example, some people would say that masturbating once a day, every day is too much – and for some men, that would indeed be the case. Some men find that masturbation on this frequency is just more than they feel comfortable with, or more than they have time for, or that it makes their penis feel odd.

But for some men, daily masturbation is exactly what they need. They have a very high sex drive or they find that the daily self-pleasuring helps to decrease tension or they simply enjoy the feel of their penis in their hands. There is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to masturbation frequency. Each man needs to determine what is too much for him.

However, whatever the frequency with which a man masturbates, every so often it may behoove him to take a little vacation from solosexual activity. Why?

– Health reasons. Sometimes all that rubbing and friction can not only make one’s manhood happy – it can also make it quite sore. It’s always possible to get too much of a good thing, even when it feels so good. So taking a break may be necessary to let the penis rest and get back into prime shape.

– Habits. In some cases, a guy falls into a situation where he is fondling himself regularly not because of the pleasure it brings but because it has become a habit. If this is the case, a man may want to take a masturbation vacation in order to break out of the routine. This can give him the opportunity to explore other means of entertainment. When he returns to masturbating, the “routine-ness” may be gone and he may find himself actively engaged and enjoying the experience more.

– Saving it up. Many men who know they will be engaging in partner sex like to break from masturbating for a few days before the likely encounter. They find that this makes them more likely to perform in a manner that they (and/or their partners) find impressive.

So how long should a masturbation vacation be? That, of course, depends on the person. For some guys, skipping a single day may be sufficient. Another man might prefer to be abstinent for a week, while another may want to go months between sessions.

Men who go on a masturbation vacation to rejuvenate the health of the penis may also need to consider other steps to keep the member healthy. Foremost among these is regularly using a superior penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). When all that pounding results in a raw, sore manhood, regular use of a crème that includes moisturizing ingredients can help. A crème with a high-end emollient such as Shea butter plus a natural hydrator like vitamin E can moisturize the skin and thereby help maintain and improve its elasticity, which alleviates soreness. Rough and frequent handling can cause a bit of de-sensitization, so using a crème with a quality neuroprotective element such as acetyl L-carnitine is a must; this can help repair peripheral nerve damage and keep the penis experiencing fuller stimulatory sensations.

Tonsil Infections – How to Treat Swollen Tonsils

There are many causes for the white lumps that appear on tonsils. One is tonsillitis. This condition is causes white bumps on the tonsils, but it can also cause fever, chills, ear pain, and headaches. The other condition is called tonsilloliths. This is caused by a buildup of mouth debris and food particles. While not particularly painful, it can cause severe bath breath and a constant feeling as though something is caught in your throat.

There are treatments available for both conditions. The treatment for bacterial tonsillitis is antibiotics. Viral tonsillitis does not have a cure and will usually go away within a week's time. Tonsiloliths need to be removed in order for you to get some relief.

In all cases, gargling with a mixture of boiled milk, mixed with turmeric and peppered power may help. Over the counter pain medications may help to relive some of the pain of tonsillitis.

For tonsiloliths, you will need to dislodge them from your tonsils. This can be done using a syringe filled with warm salt water to flush them away. You may also find that using a cotton swab or toothpick may help. Make sure you do not poke yourself, however.

In both cases, the answer is probably not a tonsillectomy. This surgery can cost a great deal of money and will have you out of work for many days. Try the home remedies first to see if you experience relief.

Thats it – with that you should be well on your way to living a safe tonsil stone free life.

Natural Weight Loss – Thyroid And Fat Burning

Forget everything you've been told about calories in and calories out for a few minutes. While on the whole the idea is true for some people it's simply not only untrue it is a huge towering obstacle getting in the way of natural weight loss. Years of yo-yo dieting and deprivation have taken its toll to the point that your body looks to be stuck in reverse and no matter what you do, you can not lose weight.

You count calories, you measure your servings, you eat whole, natural foods. You're doing it all right but the weight is not coming off. If only you had more will power, if only you tried harder is the mantra that plays over and over in your head and is demonstrated on every single diet show on Television. The truth is, you could have an issue with your thyroid. If you have an under-active thyroid it can be difficult if not impossible to lose weight no matter how well you eat. It is imperative that if you've double and triple checked that you're following your plan, you've tweaked it to take your personal uniqueness into account, and you still can not lose that you find a competent medical professional to check your thyroid.

Natural weight loss foods can go far in assisting you with getting healthy and even helping get your thyroid back on track but if you're stuck, go to the doctor and find out if you have healthy hormone levels. If you have a metabolic issue your weight loss efforts will feel like they are useless and you may set yourself up for failure. Do remember, that even if you do not immediately drop weight, eating natural weight loss foods is still healthy for you in more ways than helping you lose weight. And honestly, with all the other ways of weight loss out there, natural weight loss is much more pleasant so you have other reasons to stick to it, but do get yourself to the doctor or a nutritionist that will look at your blood work and ensure that your hormone levels are adequate.

If you have an leptin resistance and are producing extra reverse T3 due to an inactive thyroid condition losing weight will be extra difficult for you. It is good to know if you have this issue because there are things you can do with your diet that will help you with this problem. Try to eliminate wheat, dairy, peanuts, coffee and definitely high fructose corn syrup, fake sugars and any fake fats but also seek out the help of a professional that can help you with your leptin and reverse T3 issues with medication. Some doctors will not help you with these problems so ensure that you ask the right questions so that you can get help with these issues if you have them.

Leptin – a hormone that regulates body weight and metabolism. If you have difficulty losing weight or are gaining weight for no reason it is likely have leptin resistance but it needs to be checked by a professional. A level greater than 10 shows resistance, and the higher the number the worse the resistance.

Reverse T3 – a hormone that your body secrets the moment it realizes you're cutting calories, and can be worried if you diet chronically, one reason it's important to ensure that you are eating plenty of calories when you go on any diet, including a natural weight loss diet.

The problem is, standard testing missing most thyroid issues so make sure that they are running a "free T3 / reverse T3 ratio to make sure that your thyroid really is working properly. is still not a very popular test so you may need to search out someone willing to do the test and willing to prescribe the treatment that you need which is supplementation with natural T3.

The great news is, once you lose weight and reverse your situation you will not need these medications or supplements forever because it's not a permanent condition. But it is a real medical condition and not an absence of willpower on your part. The problem is the medical community may not have thought up to the research. Fortunately, there are natural sources of these medications and supplements which your healthcare provider can assist you with obtaining.

Diabetes – Early Warning Signs

Diabetes Type 1 and Type 2 have similar initial warning signs that should be heeded in order to receive proper treatment immediately. The earlier disease is detected, the better chance a person has slowed or stopping the progress of the illness. Many people are unaware of the early warning signs of diabetes and wait until they need more advanced treatment than if detected earlier. If you are experiencing these common early warning signs of diabetes, you should see your doctor immediately.

Weight Loss – One of the early problems of the disease is continuous weight loss even when you are not trying to loose weight. Diabetics can loose weight even when they continue to eat the same amount of calories as always.

Extreme Fatigue – Due to the lack of normal glucose levels, extreme fatigue and weakness may become very noticeable to those who are developing the disease. The body is not processing insulin which causes a person to become very weak and lethargic.

Numbing Sensation in Extremities – High glucose levels in the blood can damage the nervous system causing numbness and tingling sensations in the legs, hands or feet. For many people, it is not noticeable until years into a slow sunset of the illness.

Excessive Thirst – A very common early sign of diabetes is an excess thirst that can not be adequately quenched. It seems that a person can not drink enough water or other liquids to satisfy them.

Frequent Urination – Another warning signal is the need to consistently take trips to the bathroom. Again, when there is an excessive amount of glucose in the blood, the kidneys work overtime trying to filter the blood. This keeps a person running to the bathroom all the time it looks.

These are the most common, early warning signs of diabetes of which every person should be aware. Anyone can develop the illness including children and the elderly. Those who have a family history of the disease are especially susceptible. Be sure to get a checkup immediately if you develop these warning signs of diabetes so that adequate treatment can be prescribed to get you back on the road to optimum health.

Can Adults Get Diaper Rash From Pads?

Incontinence is a very common problem. Millions of people of all ages, health status and both genders have to deal with some form of incontinence. It is important to realize that not all incontinence is the same. Some people are experiencing complete loss of bladder and bowel control while others may only have light leaking. Here one should find the right incontinence product for them to use in order to control and manage their incontinence. For those with light incontinence the option to use an incontinence pad can be very effective. However, many users of this type of incontinence supplies report that they can get a diaper rash from using them. This is a serious concern since a rash in this area can not only be painful but it may also cause skin breakdown which can lead to infection.

The good news is that by taking certain precautions you can avoid getting a diaper rash and be able to wear your incontinence pad discreetly and comfortably. The tips listed below can help you to use your incontinence pad in an effective way and do not have to deal with painful and potentially serious rashes. Here are a few tips to help you avoid getting a painful diaper rash while using pads-

• Use the right kind of incontinence pad – The first thing that needs to be done to prevent adult diaper rash is to use the right kind of pad. Many people feel that they need to use the heaviest and most absorbent pad possible in order to get the right protection. This is not a good idea. If you do not need this kind of incontinence pad you are increasing the chances that you will have adult diaper rash. Instead, make sure that you are using the right level of protection for your incontinence management needs.

• Use the right size of incontinence pad – It should also be stressed that incontinence pads come in different sizes. This is because the manufacturers of incontinence pads understand that everyone is different. This means that you can get an incontinence pad that fits your body size. This is important because if you are wearing an incontinence pad that is too small or too big you are increasing your chances of developing an adult diaper rash. Keep in mind that you may have to try a few different kinds of incontinence pads until you find the right size for your needs.

• Change your pad often – Health experts stress that anyone using pads needs to change them often. Even if you are using a highly absorbent pad, you should still change it on a regular basis. The reason for this is simple; you want to limit the amount of exposure that your skin has to the urinary or fecal matter that can be released with incontinence. One of the major benefits of using pads is that they are easy to take on the go; so changing them often should not be a problem.

• Apply a skin cream to protect the skin – Another way to prevent adult diaper rash is to use a skin cream that helps to protect the skin. Different types of creams are available in the market (many are specifically made for babies); however, many adults have highly sensitive skin and it can be beneficial to check out what is available for adult skin types. This can allow you to select a product that is specifically made to protect your skin from diaper rash. There are many online sites that offer skin protection products along with adult incontinence supplies.

Where Can I Find the Best Skincare Products?

Let's face it, none of us likes to admit our age and we all strive to hang on to the way we looked in our early twenties. As a result we are always searching for the best skincare products. There are thousands of cosmetic creams, lotions, potions, ointments and oils all of which have been touted to be the best beauty treatment ever. But in reality the majority of these creams and lotions are simply moisturizers with fragrances. Smelling good does not always equal good skin care.

For those who are seriously interested in taking care of their skin, you need commitment and persistence. Before rushing off to buy the best skincare cream, it is essential that you start some home care measures. Good skin care at home means avoiding too much sun, washing the face gently on a daily basis and applying a decent moisturizer regularly.

It is important to avoid the sun because the invisible UV light can seriously damage your skin and induction the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots and even cancers. You should always wear protective clothing to cover the arms and a hat to protect the face. Today, there are some fabrics available which can reflect back the UV light. For those who can not live without the sun, a sunscreen is a must.

Other factors which can help prevent development of premature aging of the skin including giving up smoking. Tobacco is known to accelerate the aging of the skin and increases wrinkle formation. Most people who smoke always look 10 years older than their actual age.

However, for the best skincare you need to use a cosmetic cream. The problem is knowing how to choose the best skincare products from the vast array available in the shops and on the internet. You might think that the most expensive would be the best, but this is by no means the case. Often the price is a reflection of the advertising costs used the promote the product rather than the cost of its ingredients.

And it is the ingredients that you should check before buying creams or lotions. Read the label on the tube or jar to see what is included in the product. As a general rule the best skincare products are made from natural ingredients. This means that products with artificial fragrances are best avoided. You should also steer clear of creams that contain mineral oil, parabens and alcohols.

On the other hand ingredients which have a beneficial effect on your skin include Xtend-TK and Coenzyme Q10 or CoQ10. Both of these substances promote the rejuvenation of your skin and counter the effects of aging.

So if you want to retain that youthful wrinkle free complexion the advice is simple. Avoid excessive exposure to the sun, give up smoking and choose the best skincare products by checking the ingredients on the label.

Manage Irritability After Quitting Smoking

Whether you are still in the habit of smoking or have quit smoking absolutely you still may experience urges, otherwise known as cravings, to smoke. If you are still in the habit, satisfying this urge to smoke is easy, all you have to do is smoke a cigarette. On the other hand, if you have quit smoking, getting through the urge to smoke may prove to be a bit more challenging.

As an ex-smoker I realized I smoked for many reasons. One of the most obvious was the fact that I was addicted to nicotine. Good old nicotine, it's said that one pure drop of nicotine can kill a person. Not only is nicotine considered to be a poison, but nicotine is also thought to be as addictive as heroin. Unfortunately, I had no idea of how addictive nicotine was until it was too late.

After I quit smoking, it was difficult, but not impossible, to manage the urges to smoke. Suffering from nicotine withdrawal was very uncomfortable and I did not like the way it made me feel. The urge to smoke was quite strong at times and I often felt like I was not going to make it. Then to my surprise, I discovered that if I resided the urge it would go away. All I had to do was not smoke and find ways to not think about smoking. That sure sounds simple, but for those that have quit smoking or at least tried to quit it is not always so. When managing urges to smoke the most common nicotine withdrawal symptom I encountered it was irritability, lots of irritability.

As uncomfortable as it would be at times, to not smoke, due to the irritability associated with nicotine withdrawal, I was able to find methods to lessen its effects and get through the day. Going for a short walk around the block seemed to work the best. While I would walk I would practice taking slow deep breaths, kind of how I used to do when I smoked a cigarette. If I was unable to get out for a walk, I found that by doing some quick stretches, in my office or wherever I was, worked well well to relate my irritability. I think the key to managing irritability while you quit smoking is to find ways to relax and to rid yourself of those thoughts that are begging you to have a cigarette.

There are many different nicotine withdrawal symptoms. Irritability was the main nicotine withdrawal symptom I encountered. Of course there were others but I struggled the most with managing irritability while I quit smoking. I believe the type of nicotine withdrawal symptoms and the intensity depends much on the individual and the method used to quit smoking. The urge to smoke after quitting will come, and yes, it will go. The urge to smoke should get less and less the longer you sustain from smoking a cigarette. I have been able to quit smoking and stay quit for some time now. Sure it has been difficult and uncomfortable at times but I can gladly say I am smoke free and as each new day passes without smoking I am able to manage irritability better.
