How to Permanently Deepen Voice in a Few Days

Do you want to permanently deepen voice in just a few days? Well you will be happy to hear that you can do this very easily. You can develop a deep voice in just a matter of days with a few simple tricks that singers and actors use. You can pay thousands of dollars to get a vocal coach and learn this same information, but you don’t want to do that do you? Well, I know I sure wouldn’t want to do that which is why I’ve helped thousands of people get a deeper voice without paying for vocal lessons. Many people will be self conscious every now and then, and they should have an easy way to fix whatever the problem may be.

People may have told you that it is not possible to change your voice because that’s just what you were born with. Well that’s not true at all. There are millions of actors, singers and just random people who have drastically changed their voices. Many people do this each and every month, and they get the voice they have always wanted.

Like I said, with a few simple techniques you can permanently deepen voice in just a few days. Breathing control, pitch variation, confidence, articulation and sound control are some of the few techniques you need to learn to deepen voice. By having proper breathing control, you will learn to deepen your voice using different tones. If you have confidence, you will most likely speak at a regular sound level which will allow for a less high pitched voice. Sound control is another big one. If you speak very quiet, some may not hear you at all and you will need to speak up. Some people have problems speaking loudly and deeply at the same time, and vice versa. So you need to learn how to speak with a deep voice while being quiet and loud.

Now, each one has different lessons to learn and you can do them all from the comfort of your own home. You don’t have to go anywhere to get these lessons; you can get them right online. Don’t worry about paying thousands of dollars for a vocal coach or paying to get surgery to open up your vocal chords. That is completely unnecessary, just learn them from home.

Fitness Therapy Vs Physical Therapy

The term fitness therapy is a fairly new concept within the rehabilitation and health & wellness industries. Throughout the past several years the most common mistake that people make is thinking that fitness therapy is in fact physical therapy simply because the two terms sound so similar. Even though these two professions share similar verbiage and both play a much needed role within the rehabilitation system in order to maximize efficiency of patient recovery, both services differ in philosophy and purpose.

The philosophy of physical therapy is to focus on the specific injured area(s) of the patient’s body and work to rehabilitate these parts in order to return the individual to pre accident/illness functionality. Physical therapy’s purpose is to rehabilitate the patient during his/her acute and sub acute stages of an injury during an inpatient recovery program and after they have been discharged. Once the physical therapist has had the opportunity to treat the patient over time in an outpatient program, achieve their long term goals/objectives, and restore the patient’s function, mobility, and quality of life to what it was before their injury/illness, or as close as possible to the level it was before the injury/illness occurred, they are discharged.

Fitness therapy focuses on total body health & wellness by conditioning the patient’s entire body, instead of concentrating on the specific injured area(s). The human body is all connected, and chances are when an injury or illness happens to a certain part of the body, a domino effect occurs and other areas are affected. Therefore, strengthening other non-affected areas of the body, along with the injured parts, will make an individual stronger from head to toe.

Fitness therapy’s purpose is to focus on long-term recovery and prepare an individual to function independently by staying physically active across a lifespan, which begins right after a patient is discharged from physical therapy. In order to keep a patient motivated and prevent them from physically regressing, a fitness therapist must educate the individual on proper body mechanics, different exercises to utilize, how to advance a specific exercise to make it more challenging, healthy lifestyle habits, and familiarizing them in a health & wellness center setting. Once these aspects are achieved with a patient, the individual increases their chances of continuing to progress onward, avoid relapsing back to other related therapies, and stay out of hospital systems.

Healthcare providers such as, hospitals, physicians, discharge planners, nurse case managers, and insurance adjusters need to become more proactive by understanding the benefits of utilizing physical therapy and fitness therapy together in order to keep the patient from physically regressing after their physical therapy program has ended. If the healthcare system included fitness therapy as the new standard of care, then a patient would benefit by experiencing continued progress at a faster rate, and the healthcare system would save money by avoiding consistent relapses from the patient after physical therapy due to the individual having an additional resource.

Example of the New Standard of Care Model:

1) Accident/Illness Occurs > 2) Stabilize patient > 3) Inpatient Rehabilitation > 4) Outpatient Rehabilitation > 5) Finess Therapy > 6) Better Quality of Life

Healthy Diet Food

Healthy diet food what it is and what it is not a healthy balanced diet should contain a wide variety of foods including starchy foods like wholegrain breads which are low in fat and high in fibre and complex carbohydrates which help you feel fuller for longer and also helps prevent overeating. You should chose breads whose first ingredient says whole for instance whole white flour or whole wheat flour. Use wholegrain bread for sandwiches and with meals.

Five Tips for Easy Weight Loss!

Weight loss is a hot topic among people today, especially considering the fact that more than half of us are overweight. As we get older we often get busier, and before we know it, find ourselves in the prime of our lives and packing a few extra pounds. With so little extra time in our lives it is impractical to join the latest diet fad or commit to sweating in the gym for hours at a time. Are we all destined to grow outward with each passing year, or is there a simple way for us to reclaim our healthy figures? If you struggle with your own battle of the bulge read on for five sure-fire ways to drop a few of those unwanted pounds, and more importantly learn how you can prevent packing them in the first place!

TIP # 1: Burn it in the AM.

What is the first thing you do when you wake each morning? Hit the snooze button for an extra ten minutes of sleep? What if I told you that taking those ten minutes to strap on your sneakers and walk briskly around the block would result in weight loss? It has been proven that aerobic activity done on an empty stomach forces your body to recruit energy from storage. This energy is stored in the form of fat on various parts of your body. Starting tomorrow take ten minutes out of your morning to walk briskly around the block before breakfast. Do not sprint or try to walk as quickly as possible, simply walk at a pace that you could comfortably hold a conversation. This seemingly small activity, when done consistently, will produce surprising weight loss results!

TIP # 2 Forget Your Late Night Snack.

I know I am not the only one who enjoys eating a snack after dinner! Although comfort food seems to taste better right before bed, it is also more prone to stick with us when eaten late at night. It has been proven that not eating three hours before bed reduces fat storage throughout the night. If you go to bed at 10pm, finish eating for the day no later than 7pm. Once you have made this a habit you will be ecstatic over the long term weight loss!

TIP # 3 Kiss that Frappuccino Goodbye.

What tastes better than a frothy, venti frappuccino smothered in whip cream and chocolate syrup? While blended coffee beverages have rapidly gained popularity with the masses, their caloric tallies have been all but ignored. Whether you are an avid Starbucker, or only wander in for an occasional treat, it is important to know the truth about what you are drinking. The average Venti sized frappuccino weighs in at 530 calories. This staggering number equals 2.5 bagels, or one third of the recommended daily calories for an average woman. Not only is this an extreme amount of calories to be consumed in a beverage but the calories come purely from sugar, which is easily stored as fat. Next time you are in line at the coffee shop and find yourself eyeing a sugary beverage, redirect your attention to the tea selection, or stick with an old fashioned cup of coffee.

TIP # 4 Fuel Your Fire.

Have you ever tended a campfire? You probably remember continuously adding sticks and branches to keep the fire from running out of fuel. Your body's metabolism is similar in its need for constant fuel. Eating a small meal every three hours is a great way to keep your metabolism high all day long. When your metabolism is high you burn more calories throughout the day and are less likely to store fat. Rather than eating 2 or 3 large meals a day, and allowing your 'fire' to go out, giving way to hunger pains, try eating a small meal every three hours and be amazed at your weight loss results.

TIP # 5 Curb Your Carbs

I'm sure sometime in the past year you have found yourself subjected to the testimony of a converted 'low-carb' enthusiast. While these people may look great it is definitely not the right diet for everyone. Extreme fatigue, crankiness and downright impracticality are what make this diet a tough cookie to swallow. Cutting one or two carb-filled items out of your daily diet can make a huge difference in meeting weight loss goals. While I would not recommend throwing out your bread basket entirely, consciously cutting carb-filled items out of your daily food intake is a great idea. If you normally have a sandwich for lunch make it open-faced, thus cutting out half of the bread. If you enjoy eating pasta for dinner reduce your pasta portion and add extra vegetables. These minor changes to your daily diet will prove themselves priceless when you step onto the scale!

It is you against the bulge, and now that you are armed with these 5 tips for easy weight loss, I am confident that you are going to win! Keep in mind that consistency is the key. The more effort that you put into implementing these 5 tips into your daily lifestyle, the quicker the unwanted pounds will disappear!

Do You Have First Aid Protection?

Every day there is an emergency of some sort. It could be an earthquake, fire, auto accident, some natural disaster or just a cut finger. Everyone needs to be prepared for an emergency before it happens. Most people are so busy with everyday life that they neglect to be prepared for first aid emergencies. Just imagine playing your favorite sport, hiking on your vacation, riding a bicycle or doing your favorite thing and an emergency happens. Are you prepared for this emergency? Most people would not because they did not think ahead.

First aid kits will allow you to be prepared for any emergencies. A well stocked first aid kit, kept within easy reach, is a necessity in every home. It would be wise to not only keep a first aid kit in your house but also in your car. If you purchase a first aid kit be sure your kit has enough supplies for the entire family. If you choose to assemble your own, choose a container that is roomy, durable, easy to carry and simple to open. Plastic tackle boxes or containers for art supplies are ideal. If you decide to assemble your own kit be sure to include the following items:

*first-aid manual

* sterile gauze

* adhesive tape

* adhesive bandages in several sizes

* elastic bandage

* antiseptic wipes

* soap

* antibiotic cream (triple-antibiotic ointment)

* antiseptic solution (like hydrogen peroxide)

* hydrocortisone cream (1%)

* acetaminophen and ibuprofen

* extra prescription medications (if the family is going on vacation)

* tweezers

* sharp scissors

* safety pins

* disposable instant cold packs

* calamine lotion

* alcohol wipes or ethyl alcohol

* thermometer

* plastic gloves (at least 2 pairs)

* flashlight and extra batteries

* mouthpiece for administering CPR (can be obtained from your local Red Cross)

* your list of emergency phone numbers

* blanket (stored nearby)

Upon completion of your kit to make sure you read the manual so you will know how to use the contents of your kit. Always store your kit in a place that is easily accessible. Be sure to check your first aid kit regularly to restock any missing items or replaced medications that have expired.

Be smart, Be ready, Be prepared because the life you save may be your loved one.

What To Take To The Hospital When Having A Baby

The last thing you want to worry about when you go into labor, is trying to figure out what items you need to put in your hospital bag and trying to hunt them down before dashing to the hospital. Ideally you should have your hospital bag packed and waiting by the door by at least 2 weeks before your due date. That way, when the time is right, you can grab your bag and go without any last minute delays or worries.

It is useful to have 2 bags for yourself: one for labor and one for your hospital stay afterwards including your baby item essentials. It is also helpful to have your labor partner pack a bag in advance for themselves and some helpful labor items.

Labor Bag for you:

– Your Birth Plan, if you have one.

– Maternity Bathrobe. This is particularly useful for early stages of labor as you may need to walk around the hospital to progress labor. After the baby you will also need some sort of cover up to a nightgown, particularly if it’s the hospital excuse for a nightgown, when you need to walk the corridors.
– Slippers and socks
– A clean nursing top or front-opening nursing nightgown if you prefer to bring your own
– Drinks and snacks and breath mints
– A straw, which will make sipping liquids easier.
– Toiletries (hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, facial cream)
– Lip moisturizer
– Massage oils or lotions
– Eyeglasses (if needed)
– Cell phone and list of important numbers
– Magazines, music, word puzzles. Fun light reading to pass the time. Don’t bring heavy involved reading or work from the office! You are looking for fun and mindless distraction to pass the time. Remember, you will be productive enough in a few hours to make up for any unproductive activities during your labor waiting period!
– Maternity pads (nighttime sanitary pads), and spare maternity underwear.
– Nursing bras. If you plan to wear a bra during labor, it is helpful to have a nursing bra on already if you plan to nurse your baby. Usually you will be allowed to nurse right away after birth. Make sure you wear a very comfortable fitting nursing bra, not one with underwires.

For Labor Partner:

Watch with a second hand to time contractions
– Camera/video camera if you want it and film/tape if needed
– Snacks, reading material
– Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste..)
– Change of clothes, particularly if they will be staying with you at the hospital for several days after the baby.
– Cell phone/phone card
– List of important numbers
– Dollar Bills for vending machine
– Water Spray/Mister for gentle cool-downs during labor.
– Tennis balls for back massage

Hospital Bag for your Postpartum Use:

Front opening nursing nightie
– Comfy clothes to wear for leaving the hospital. Remember you are not going to be able to wear non-maternity clothes a few days after having your baby! So bring comfortable maternity clothing or transitional clothing. Also, if you have a C-section, the last thing you will want is any pressure on your tummy. A comfortable cotton elastic waistband that fits below the belly or that is designed to fold down bellow the belly for comfort is best.
– Easy fitting footwear
– Change of underwear and maternity pads for heavy bleeding after birth
– Nursing Bras (at least 2). Make sure these are easy fitting nursing bras that do not have underwire. Wear a nursing bra with plenty of room and stretch as you breasts may increase up to a cup in size when you milk comes in.
– Personal music player and headphones
– Magazines and easy reading material. You will be too tired for any heavy reading!

Hospital Bag for Baby:

Last but certainly not least you will want to pack a few things for the new baby:

-Properly installed infant car seat. This is a must if you want to take your baby home with you! Make sure you have your car seat professionally installed several weeks before you go to the hospital. Any fire station can install your car seat for you. An alarming number of car seats are not properly installed by parents.
– Newborn diapers
– Infant hat
– Receiving blankets
– Newborn sleeper or outfits
– Socks/booties

If you have all of these essentials ready to go in advance, you can have peace of mind that you are well prepared when the time comes to have your baby!

Doctors Education And Career Information

In India we have a special respect, love and affection towards doctors. The rich culture and heritage may be one reason, why a doctor enjoys a special attention and respect in the society, irrespective of the specialty or the number of degrees to his credit, but being a doctor is not that easy, years of rigorous education and then practice take all the juice out of life.

Unlike other western countries, a doctor in India is too engaged with his patients, In the good olden days, people also choose this profession as a service to the society and dedicated their lives.

The medical education in India is quite different from the west, If one wishes to become a doctor in India, after the senior secondary examinations, one has to appear for the entrance examinations that opens up the gates of a medical college, where one undergoes MBBS degree course that is of five and a half year duration, along with one year compulsory residency. Once the individual completes his / her program, they can start practicing as doctor, they can work as duty doctors or resident doctor. Further one can appear for MD / MS program, which is a higher postgraduate degree in the respective specialty.

MD in Medicine
MD is awarded to those medical graduates who are holding the MBBS degree, and after three years of study and passing an examination, which includes both theory and practical, in a pre-clinical or clinical subject of a non-surgical nature. The original research element is not as prominent here, as this is primarily a clinical qualification resembling the professional doctorates of the USA.

MS in Surgery
Similarly in surgery, orthopedics and gynecology the equivalent degree is Master of Surgery (MS). DNB (Diplomate of the National Board) qualification is considered equivalent to the MD and MS qualifications, the difference in both the qualifications is that MD / MS is awarded by the Medical council whereas DNB is from the Diplomate of national board. That can be obtained by passing an exam conducted by national board of examinations after completing 3 years post MBBS training in hospitals recognized by the board.

DM in Medicine and MCh in Surgery
One can go for further specialization in medical or surgical fields, after the first postgraduate degree, which is either MD / MS or DNB. This requires three years of hard rigorous training and study and then passing an examination, both theory and practical, and the degree awarded is DM (Doctorate in Medicine, supers specialty doctor) eg DM in Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Gastro-enterology etc. For surgical sub specialties the degree awarded is MCh, eg MCh (Cardiac Surgery), MCh (Neurosurgery) etc. The DM or MCh degrees are considered equivalent to the Fellowship training offered in the US and are considered as post-doctoral degrees in India, similar to the PhD in India. Once a doctor gains a specialized degree, He / She would further practice in a super specialty hospital.

DNB- Diplomate of National Board
The Diplomate of National board or DNB is the title provided by the National Board of Examinations. It is usually noted as DNB after the name of the individual who has been conferred it. The National Board of examinations is governed by the educational arm of the Health ministry of India. DNB degree was introduced by the Health Ministry in 1975 to provide bench mark standards for higher education in India and to meet global standards.

There are also several diploma and other short-term CME programs for doctor, programs that help them in skills development and knowledge up gradation to new international norms and guidelines.

Considering the population of India, the doctor patient ratio difference is much higher, though India is country where the maximum number of medical students graduate every year, brain drain is one of the major reasons why we have such huge difference in the doctor patient ratio. Doctors migrate to other developed in pursuance of better opportunities.

Slowly but steadily, India too is catching up to the international level and with emergence of many corporate hospital would help retain those highly qualified specialist doctor with in India.

Mini Science Bio – Isaac Newton (1642 – 1727)

Sir Isaac Newton was not only one of the best physicists ever lived but he was also one of those scientists that contributed a lot to mathematics. He made most of his mathematical contributions while he was first a student then a professor at Trinity College, Cambridge between the years 1661 and 1696. Our world would not be the same today without the important discoveries of the son of this yeoman farmer.

The years 1665-66 were one of the worst for England when the Bubonic Plague devastated all big cities. 1665 is also the year when Newton got his BA When the school was shut down to fight the plague, Newton retreated to the family farm at Woolsthorpe. During those two years that he spent in seclusion doing nothing but devoting all his time to physics and mathematics, Newton discovered the law of gravity and made important advances in mathematics.

Here is a list of the 23 year old Newton's achievements during those two crucial years:

He discovered the law of universal gravitation, invented calculus (at the same time as but independently of Leibnitz in Germany), further developed the binomial theorem, and started his life-long studies in optics and the theory of colors.

There, during his two year stay at the farm, Newton discovered and proven that the same force that pulls a rock towards the earth (ie, gravity) is one and the same force that pulls the moon towards the earth and keeps it in orbit. He later on developed this into a "Principle of Universal Gravitation" which said any two objects in the universe attracted one another in direct ratio to the product of their masses, and in inverse ratio to the square of the distance between them.

Newton is best known for his 3 Laws of Motion:

Law 1 (Law of Inertia): If an object is at rest and there is no net force acting on it, it will remain at rest. If it is moving at a constant speed and no net force is acting on it, it will continue to move at that constant speed.

Law 2: F = ma, or: the net force acting on an object is its mass multiplied by the acceleration of the object. Thus if an object is moving at a constant speed, that is, if its acceleration is zero, then there is zero net force acting on it.

Law 3: To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If A is pushing B with a force of F, B is also pushing A in the opposite direction with a force of F. Sun attracts the Earth, and Earth attracts the Sun with the same force!

During 1668 and 1669, Newton worked on optics at the Cambridge University.

1669 is another important year in Newton's life since that's when Prof. Isaac Barrow resigned from the famous "Lucasian Chair" at Cambridge and offered it to Newton as its second occupant. Having the security of a good tenured position, Newton pressed on with his studies into the nature of light and optics with a renewed vigor.

Here is a summary of Newton's various contributions to the science of optics, some of which later on culminated in his 1704 book also titled "Optics."

Newton developed instruments to grind lenses into shapes other than spheres. He is the first in human history to discover that, when passed through a prism, the sun light is split into a bundle of different colored rays. On the basis of that observation he developed the first successful explanation of rainbows.

The great physicist has also discovered the telescope that is still known today by his name; invented a reflecting microscope in 1672, as well as a sextant which was independently discovered in 1731 by J. Hadley.

However, for all his daring discoveries in optics and the theory of colors, Newton was attacked vehemently during the 1670s. Sometimes it takes minds lesser than a genius a little lag time to catch up with the greatest discoveries of human history.

Even if Newton had died in his mid-twenties his place in the world of mathematics and science would've been secure enough. But he lived about 60 more years and pushed the frontiers of human reason and science even further – thanks to his extraordinary gifts as physicist and a mathematician.

Drug Rehab Facility – Life Saver

The success of any drug rehabilitation plan depends upon a number of factors. First and foremost is the rehab center that offers the recovery program for the abuser. This center should be well equipped to take care of all the needs of the addict in a more result oriented way. He should be given 24 hours supervision by expert and trained personnel who are ready to help him all through the treatment plan. The counselors should be able to offer their services in a friendlier manner so that the abusers feel free to talk to them about their life's condition and problems and seek solution for the same.

An interactive counseling helps him understand his problem and the ill effects of drug abuse. He also understands why his successful recovery is important and what is expected of him to achieve that. Another important aspect of a good drug abuse rehab facility is the environment and the surroundings of the center. An effective completion of the recovery plan requires an equally conducive environment for it. The addict or the students should be taken away as far as possible, from their current or immediate set of people or atmosphere that constantly reminds him of drugs and places from where he can access it.

Possibilities of a relapse should be avoided by giving him a relaxed atmosphere where he can think freely and with open mind. Calm and serene setting, open spaces, natural beauty, various recreational facilities and a healthy atmosphere make sure that he recovers permanently.

How to Supplement Vitamin D Into Your Diet

Vitamin D supplementation is vital as it improves your body's immune system. There are a number of benefits it has on your overall health and well being.

Benefits of vitamin D supplementation

This is a great supplement to take as proper supplementation prevents you from getting sick as often, especially if you are prone to a lot of allergies. If you have proper levels of vitamin D in your diet, you are less prone to respiratory illness than you would normally be. Studies have shown that vitamin D supplementation is beneficial in reducing inflammation as well as chronic illnesses. Vitamin D pain treatment can provide great relief.

Recommended dosage of vitamin D

The recommended daily allowance also of vitamin d3 is around 200 IU (5 micrograms per day). However, many argue healthy adults should gradually increase their Vitamin D intake to 2000 IU or sometimes even up to 6000 IU for pregnant women. This is the internationally recommended dosage and it is the safe and the ideal amount for adults to take regularly. If you take more than this, it could end up causing more harm than good. As always, you should speak to your physician before taking any vitamin D supplements, especially if you are already taking prescription drugs at the same time.

Sunlight is the best vitamin D supplement

You should aim to get at least 15-30 mins of sunlight daily. This is because your body will naturally produce the Vitamin D the minute your skin is exposed to sunlight. If you normally wear sunscreen all the time, for this time frame, skip wearing it. This is because the chemicals in the sunscreen will block your body's natural absorption of sunlight. Another great benefit of sunshine is that it is wonderful in fighting fatigue and depression. If you have medium to dark skin, then you should try to stay out for 10 minutes more in the sun to reap the full benefits.

Vitamin D supplements in the form of food

There are many foods such as fortified milks, eggs as well as many cereals that are great sources of vitamin D. All you have to do is read the label and you have all the information that you need to make the right choice. Seafood also has a lot of the vitamin in it. Foods such as salmon, tuna and any other fatty fish are all good sources of the vitamin.

A dose of cod liver oil is also another great vitamin D source. You can also get it from non-fish sources such as shrimp, oysters, and cooked eel. – Sharp abdominal pain: When one of the gallstones starts to obstruct the bile ducts that go to the intestine, the affected person might feel sharp colic in the abdominal area.The pain starts in the upper part of the abdomen and goes toward the back. When this happens, bloating and indigestion can be also present. Laying still and waiting for the gallbladder attack to pass is something many patients do.

Health Benefits of Cherries: Studies Show Top 5 Gains

Not only are cherries one of the most satisfying and delicious foods around, they are rated by the American Journal of Nutrition in the “Top 50 List” of foods with the most powerful nutritional content and health benefits.

It’s the deep red, blue and purple colors of the top berries that contain the plant chemicals delivering a potent punch against disease. Recent research studies have discovered the health benefits of cherries include muscle pain relief, reducing inflammation, remedying insomnia, protection of brain cells, and relief for knee arthritis.

Many of the scientific studies on cherries are done with tart cherries or Montmorency cherries – usually sold as juice, dried, frozen, and in powdered supplement capsules. For those seeking a food-based remedy for sleeplessness and insomnia, the tart Montmorency cherry is known to contain high levels of melatonin, the hormone made in the brain that regulates the sleep-wake cycle.

The European Journal of Nutrition presented a placebo-controlled study that proved drinking tart cherry juice increases melatonin and improves sleep quality. Drinking the juice resulted in longer sleep times, less daytime napping and greater overall sleep efficiency (the ratio of the time spent in bed to the time actually spent sleeping).

Cherries also give proven relief for people who would like to reduce muscle pain or soreness after exercise or a lot of physical activity. A study from a sports nutrition journal discovered that runners who drank tart cherry juice prior to and during a race, experienced much less pain afterwards. The high levels of anti-inflammatory properties in cherries provided a protective effect against muscle damage.

In the battle against belly fat, cherries can be a good weapon. In one animal study from the University of Michigan, scientists mixed whole tart cherry powder in with a high fat diet. The animals that ate the cherries had a lower body weight, lower cholesterol and significantly lower levels of the kind of inflammation that’s linked to heart disease and diabetes in humans.

Fat cells have been described as “chemically active” ones that can lower the strength of the immune system and lead to the onset of widespread inflammation. In a study where people drank eight ounces of tart cherry juice each day for a month, it was shown that inflammation was lowered in the body in many of the most significant blood markers of it.

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis. It causes chronic joint pain, swelling, and reduced motion in joints. It can occur in any joint, but usually it affects hands, knees, hips or spine. In a recent study at the Baylor Research Institute, scientists gave tart cherry powder in capsules to people with knee osteoarthritis. At the end of the eight week study, over 50% of the people benefited with good increases in movement and significant reduction of pain.

For better brain health as one ages, a study from the journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry has proven that tart cherries protect brain cells from cell-damaging stress in a dose-dependent manner. In other words, when more cherries are eaten, there are more neuro-protective benefits for the brain. This shows a potential defense against conditions such as Alzheimer’s.

Cherries are certainly a delicious way to reduce pain and inflammation and help keep many parts of the body healthier and sleeping better.
