3 Free Fast Weight Loss Tips For Busy People

If you are an extremely active person, you probably find it challenging to slim down. Nonetheless, since keeping a healthy weight is always so important, it's essential to know tactics to accommodate weight loss into your daily life, regardless of how busy you might be. If you are forever on the go, you can take advantage of the following free fast weight loss tips for remaining in charge of your weight.

Free Fast Weight Loss Tips # 1- A Solid Plan

To begin with, have a strategy for slimming. If you do not, you may be tempted to start off your weight loss "tomorrow," and for a number of men and women, tomorrow never quite gets to today.

Get going by setting objectives that you'll be able to really accomplish with a little work, yet which are not too simplistic to complete. Consult your general practitioner or an expert trainer to determine the way to satisfy your fat loss desires.

Free Fast Weight Loss Tips # 2- The Lunch Hour

It can be also an excellent idea to think about your food options on a everyday basis. Should you really feel as if you've got no time for anything but fast food for lunch in the course of the day, think about healthy alternatives, like subs rather than burgers and water instead of soda.

A great choice is usually to carry a packed lunch each day instead. This can save you cash and in reality does not require a great deal time to make in the morning. Purchase a nutritious lunch meat and low- fat cheese combination that you enjoy, or get hold of ready- to- go salad that you'll bring with you to work.

Free Fast Weight Loss Tips # 3- The Happy Hour

Here's One reasonably straightforward thing you'll be able to do to greatly cut back on calories without an abundance of time or effort is … consider your drinks. Foremost, cut back on all alcoholic drinks. Should you prefer to go out to happy hour, enjoy a single beverage instead of a couple, or change to lighter options. If you really feel the social pressure to drink on the weekends, just volunteer to be the designated driver.

Booze is not the sole thing a person ought to think about, however. One must also take into consideration consuming less beverages with high levels of sugar. Swap the coffee in the morning for green tea. Substitute sodas with carbonated flavored waters. Simply cut back on your consumption of beverages all together, and just drink water. Doing this one thing on it's own will let you shed fat, particularly if you typically consume a lot of non- water drinks throughout your day.

Never get stuck into the attitude that you're far too busy to lose weight. Weight loss is very important for absolutely everybody, this includes you. If you take care of your weight, you'll be a healthier individual on the whole, which leads to reducing down time as a result of sickness and giving you a longer lifespan.

Data Recovery First Aid

First Aid for Data Recovery

The unthinkable has happened and your hard drive has just crashed, taking your valuable data with it. What do you do now? First of all, relax! In 80-90% of cases, you can retrieve your files with the help of a reputable data recovery company, provided you take the right steps to minimize the damage. Here's what to do once you've lost your data.

1. Do not Panic.

As mentioned earlier, in the majority of cases, your data can be recovered. The best option right now is to safely shut down your system or use it as little as possible until you can get your hard d rive to a data recovery specialist. Using your computer after you've lost data greatly increases the chances that your lost data will be over-written. Once data is over-written there is no way to get it back. Do not try typing in commands, downloading programs, browsing the web, launching programs or restarting your computer. All of these actions can lead to your data being over-written. The safest option is to shut down your system and leave it off until you can get professional help for your drive.

2. Free up some space.

If you must use your computer, you can free up some space on the damaged disk by deleting unnecessary files, moving some files off the disk to a flash drive or other external drive and empty your recycle bin and browser cache. These steps free up space on your drive and reduce the likelihood of having your lost files over-written.

3. Make a list of the files you 've lost that you need to recover.

Let's face it, many of your files may not, in fact be worth saving. It's important to decide which files you need to retrieve and which ones you can let go. Also, if you know what you're looking for, you can communicate your needs to the data recovery specialist and make sure you only recover what's necessary.

4. Find a reputable data retrieval company.

There are many companies who specialize in data recovery, and you should spend some time researching the different options in your area and finding a company that has experience, will respect your privacy, has a solid track record, reasonable fees and whom you feel comfortable with . Price is one part of the equation, but remember that extremely low-priced companies may not offer the kind of service you're looking for. Ask around and find out about the experience other clients have had with a particular company and take some time to decide if that service provider is right for you.

5. Ship your drive carefully.

When you send your drive out for service, make sure it is packaged properly. Here are some rules to keep in mind:

– Use the manufacturer's original packaging whenever possible.

– If the original packaging is not available, make sure you send the drive in a cardboard box at least twice the size of the drive to allow room for sufficient packing materials.

– Place the drive in an anti-static bag or plastic freezer bag to protect it from static.

– Use bubble wrap to protect the drive. Never use Styrofoam peanuts as these can convey static and further damage the drive.

– Buy insurance for your package so that you can be financially compensated if the drive is lost or damaged. Make sure the box is marked "FRAGILE".

– Use a trackable shipping method to give you an idea of where your package is at all times.

– The Let your data recovery company know approximately when your drive will arrive That they 're so know it's coming and you can an advise the if it does not show up color : as expected.

6. Take steps to protect yourself in the future.

Once your data has been (hopefully) recovered, resolve never to let this happen again. You can protect yourself by:

1. Backing up your files on a regular basis.

2. Keeping your computer in a cool, dry place in your home, out of direct sunlight and away from heavy traffic.

3. Store your data files at an external location, such as on an external hard drive or USB flash drive.

4. Learn to recognize the warning signs that your drive is about to fail and prepare for the worst. Some common signs of impending hard drive failure are unusual sounds, mysteriously missing files, frequent hang-ups during booting and extremely long wait periods when accessing files.

Hospital Information Systems

Hospital Information systems help you deal with number of diverse types of data concerning the running of a hospital. This is a computerized system that is specifically designed to deal with all the information required to manage a hospital. Such systems not only help you run a hospital smoothly and efficiently but also save you lot of time and money. It helps one get any information required from the hospital within a matter of minutes. It is said that the system helps the hospital authorities save billions of dollars on administrative budget of a hospital annually.

Though the hospital computer systems has its route way back in the 1950 s it is only in recent years the hospital information systems have started to be used widely. One of the reasons for this is that computer hardware has become more affordable in recent years. It has also become more advanced and simple to use. The patient population has also increased so it has almost become impossible to keep track of diverse information of the hospital. This is a highly complex system designed to manage the hospital in a simple way. The system is also capable of great flexibility for various needs you simply have to contact your software associates to get the orientation you require on the system in the running of the hospital.

The basic benefit of this system is that it gives us easy access to information with improved quality of documentation, it also provides improved communication, reduced errors, reduced cost, ability to track the patient records, ability to recruit and schedule staffs etc. This thereby leaves the hospital authorities much time in hand to personally deal with other important issues of the hospital like attending to each patient and thereby improving the quality of patient care. This will in turn build up the Image of the hospital.

Compared to what a hospital can save by using this software system the cost they will have to spend on installing the system is just pittance. One gets to save many folds over within the year of installing the system both financially and otherwise, like less burden on attending to various management issues, staffing issues, scheduling issues etc. You get to run a hospital with fewer work forces and more efficiency by using a hospital information system.

The cost also varies from country to country due to currency variation. But as in any other field the internet has made it possible to get these systems from anywhere internationally and get it installed for within your allotted budget One can obtain hospital information system having same quality and standard at much cheaper rates from countries like India. The systems are just as efficient if not more efficient. One of the reasons a system designed in countries like India can assure quality is because the hospitals using their systems are running very efficiently though they are some of the most crowded hospitals in the world. This alone will vouch for the quality of the system used in the country. So one may save unnecessary expense in the installing of the system and use the money more constructively by getting the system cheaply.

Alzheimer Granny Goes to the Doctor

Alzheimer Granny’s daughter Marian had been worrying about her mother for some time. So finally she decided that they should go to see her doctor and get some help from him.

Doctor Dolittle greeted Alzheimer Granny in his usual friendly manner.

“And how are you doing?” he said.

“Oh, I’m fine,” she said, smiling at him.

“I’m worried about my mother,” said Marion to Doctor Dolittle, who had been her mother’s doctor for many years. “I think she’s having memory problems.”

“Ah, said Dr Dolittle, turning to Alzheimer Granny, “So how do you think your memory is?”

“It’s fine, I’ve always had a great memory — still do,” she said, as Marion rolled her eyes.

“She’s doing strange things when she shops,” said Marion. “Last week, she bought twenty cans of beets. She doesn’t even like beets. Her refrigerator’s always empty.”

“How’s your social life?” Doctor Dolittle asked Alzheimer Granny.

“It’s fine, I go out to lunch with my friends every day and I play bingo three times a week.”

“My mother never goes out any more. She used to but now she says she doesn’t like it. She says people talk too loud. She hasn’t played bingo for over a year. She told me they read the numbers too fast,” Marion put in desperately.

“She doesn’t know anything. This is the first time I’ve seen her for month,” said her mother angrily.

“I take a meal over to her every evening,” her daughter said.

“Well, none of us is getting any younger,” said Doctor Dolittle. “You have to expect a little memory decline at our age.”

“It’s not a little,” she said. “There’s something really wrong with my mother. She doesn’t drive any more because she kept getting lost.”

“You know how they keep changing all the roads,” said Alzheimer Granny to her doctor.

He smiled and nodded.

“Well, let’s just keep an eye on things,” he said kindly to Marion.

When Alzheimer Granny was settled into the passenger seat of the car, she scowled at Marion.

“You always like to cause trouble,” she said angrily. “Ever since you were a little girl. You’ve always been a nuisance.”

Marion felt very hurt but she wasn’t going to let things drop. When she had set out her mother’s dinner, she went next door to talk to Suzie Robbins. Suzie was a community nurse and a good friend of Alzheimer Granny.

“Come on in,” said Suzie cheerfully. “Would you like a coffee?”

Over their coffee, she confided her worries about her mother. Suzie listened, nodding as if none of this was a surprise to her.

“I should have talked to you earlier,” Suzie said. “I’ve been worried about your mother. Remember when Timmy died?”

Timmy had been Alzheimer Granny’s gigantic orange tomcat. After a long and troublesome career, Timmy had been found sleeping the sleep that has no end in the bathtub. Finding her cat cold and stiff in the bath, Alzheimer Granny had called Marion in a panic.

“It’s his arthritis,” she said confusedly. “He can’t get up. Do you have some medicine for that?”

“Who?” asked Marion. “Whose arthritis?”

“My — the — my friend,” said her mother. “He’s stuck in the bathtub.”

“Stuck? You have someone in your bathtub, Mom?”

She rushed over to find her mother washing Timmy the cat with hot water,

“What are you doing, Mom?”

“He’s so cold.”

Once Timmy was safely removed and interred in the back yard, Marion offered to get her mother another cat. Her mother looked at her in bewilderment.

“I have a cat already,” she said. “I don’t need two of them.”

Marion sighed.

“Yes,” she said to Suzie, “I certainly do remember Timmy.”

“Well, your mother regularly comes round to ask me if I’ve seen him or if I’ve got him. Once or twice I reminded her that he’d died of old age, but then she’d get very upset — as if she’d only just heard about it. I knew there was something wrong.”

Marion told her about Doctor Dolittle.

“Well, you know he’s about the same age as your mother. Sometimes, it seems specially hard for older doctors to admit their older patients could really being getting Alzheimer’s, or whatever.”

Marion went cold.

“Is that what you think Mom has?” she asked Suzie.

“I have no idea. You know, Marion, don’t you, that there’s a whole host of things that look the same as our idea of Alzheimer’s. Your Mom could just be depressed. Your Dad died. Her cat died. Her other kids live a long way from here. She might have other health conditions — lots of health issues make a person look as if she has dementia. And a lot of them can be fixed or regulated in various ways. Even dementia can maybe be modified or helped.”

“So is there a better doctor I could get Mom to see?”

“There’s a really good gerontologist you could take your Mom to. That’s really what she needs. She needs someone who could have your Mom go through the whole Alzheimer’s workup.”

“What does that involve?”

“Oh, it’s very thorough. MRI, Cat scan, bloodwork, medication review, investigation of other health conditions which might affect her mental status, extensive interviewing by a social worker and so on. It usually takes a couple of days to have everything done.”

“It sounds expensive,” Marion groaned.

“All covered by Medicare, my dear.”

“That’s something anyway.”

“Now, Marion, I hope you don’t mind me suggesting this but I would NOT necessarily tell your mother in advance about the appointment. I’d just go and pick her up like you would for any shopping expedition. Then I’d drive her to the doctor’s office and go in with her. And you might usefully write down a list of the things you’ve noticed that have changed. Memory issues. Mood changes. Lifestyle issues. Make sure the doctor gets that at least a couple of days before you see her. Doctor Patel, a very nice woman. Very smart and friendly. Your Mom won’t worry about her a bit.”

“I’m just terrified Mom’s got Alzheimer’s.”

Suzie nodded.

“I do understand, honey, but whatever it is, it’s best we know. Then we can all figure out what to do.”

“You hear so much about it — how horrible it is.”

“Frankly, there’s many worse and more painful things than dementia, as a nurse I’ll tell you that. I won’t say don’t worry, but I’m here and we’ll all help each other the best way we can.”

“Oh thank-you, Suzie!”

Even so, walking back into her mother’s house, Marion felt her heart sink.

“Hallo, dear,” said Alzheimer Granny to her daughter, “Did you see Timmy out there? I want to give him his supper?”

Maybe Brain Freeze Could Save Your Life?

You know when you are at Starbucks on a hot day and you order one of those milk-shake like Frappachino’s and all of a sudden you feel like you have the proverbial “Brain Freeze” well, it turns out that it’s not a bad thing, it means your blood vessels are expanding and sending more blood through. Now then, that has nothing to do whatsoever about what I am about to tell you. This article is way more interesting and scientific, so listen up and enjoy the intellectual stimulation, because this information could be with you for the rest of your life, or perhaps longer.

You see, there was an interesting piece in the mainstream media picked up by UPI titled; “Cryonics breakthrough: Frozen rabbit brain successfully returned,” by Brooks Hays published on February 10, 2016 which stated; “Every neuron and synapse looks beautifully preserved across the entire brain,” said Kenneth Hayworth, president of the Brain Preservation Foundation.” Well, this little experiment should be telling you something – as in, scientists are figuring out how to keep the brain alive – long after you’d normally have expired, long enough into the future that perhaps there will be a cure for old age by then, meaning this might be a bridge to infinite longevity. Today rabbits, tomorrow upright walking carbon based bipeds (humans).

Now you understand why I said that this information might stay in your head for your entire life – or longer? How long, well that is hard to say, as scientists are just beginning to scratch the surface of this new science. Remember when the first people were frozen upon death or just prior due to an incurable illness in hopes that one day in the future they would be thawed out when there was a cure?

The challenge in all that was actually thawing them out and having someone who was still alive, easier said than done, of course in the future the scientists pondered that problem would also be solved. Well, today it is, so the science of cryogenics is no longer Science Fiction, they’ve actually done it with a rabbits brain, just think what that means for you and I, and for the entire group of life-extension scientists working on the proverbial issue of immortality? This is big news, is it not?

So, next time you are sipping on one of those frozen Starbucks drinks with all that caffeine and sugar, remember that Brain Freeze had just taken on a whole new meaning.

CSS Menus and 508 Accessibility Compliant

The Section 508 federal US mandate requires web developers to create alternative means of viewing content on websites so that people with disabilities can also experience it. When compliant with 508, web content also becomes more available to all users including those using mobile devices, laptops, voice browsers etc. Therefore, while 508 compliance is something every company needs to be working towards by law, it also affords the same businesses certain benefits that are applicable to not only users with disabilities but to all potential users.

The use of certain types of content on a website makes it difficult or impossible for people without sight or the ability to read, for example, to comprehend the given content expressed.

World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Guidelines and Levels of Compliance

The W3C has been tasked with establishing levels of Section 508 compliance based on the regulations set forth in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

It is not always easy to retro-engineer existing software to comply with Section 508 regulations. The W3C – an impartial group of web and Internet authorities. To help companies work towards compliance sequentially rather than all at once, the W3C has broken the law into three priority levels: A, AA and AAA.

Levels of 508 Compliance:

Priority 1, Level A: Provide content that, when presented to the user, conveys essentially the same function or purpose as auditory or visual content. This guideline emphasizes the importance of providing text equivalents of non-text content (images, pre-recorded audio, video). (Text from the mandate itself)

Priority 2, Level AA: Ensure that text and graphics are understandable when viewed without color and that all information conveyed with color is also available without color, for example from context or markup. (Text from the mandate itself)

Priority 3, Level AAA: Mark up documents with the proper structural elements. Control presentation with style sheets rather than with presentation elements and attributes. Use style sheets to control layout and presentation. (Text from the mandate itself)

Validation of CSS Menu Compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act

There are several validation tools available to software developers to determine if their products are compliant with 508 standards. Pluginlab employed several validation methodologies to ensure the highest level of 508 regulation compliance. These include:

Cynthia Says by Highsoftware is a premium validation tool for 508 compliance. The software detects inconsistencies between site content and Section 508 standards. Pluginlab passed this validation test with zero errors at levels A, AA, and AAA – validating that Pluginlab CSS menus comply with all accessibility ratings.

WAVE by WebAim is used to assist developers and designers in the creation of software with AAA level 508 compliance. All Pluginlab modules passed without error at level AAA compliance, putting it in a singular class of software.

Site Valet by WebThing provides diagnostics for forms, scripts, HTTP, mark-up analysis and processing, HTML, XML, EARL, Link Checking and spell checking. All Pluginlab modules passed validation with zero errors at levels A, AA and AAA. Once again, a third validation that Pluginlab CSS Menu Modules simplify compliance with 508 regulations.

CSS menus in particular are becoming a primary means of navigating a website's many pages and thus are a key component in 508 compliance. CSS menus that provide the necessary support should include such features as keyboard-only support, voice and text reader support and so on. In turn, this level of compliance will also help with search engine optimization of site pages containing CSS menus.

Coronary Heart Disease Diet – The Natural Remedy For Coronary Heart Disease

What is the disease of the heart?

A coronary artery is a blood vessel that takes blood to the muscles of the heart. The arteries are like narrow tubes. A greasy substance called "plaque" can be accumulated in the arteries, blocking or diminishing the flow of blood and oxygen through them. This can happen in any artery, but when it happens at the coronary arteries, the muscles of the heart do not receive the blood and the oxygen that they need to work in perfect conditions. The coronary artery disease can cause serious health problems, inclusively angina (pain or pressure in the chest) and attacks the heart. One of the major steps a sick person suffering this condition can take, is to improve his or her quality of life through a specific coronary heart disease diet.

What causes the coronary heart disease?

As much to the man, women can suffer coronary disease very often. This one can be hereditary, that is to say that is perpetuated among the members of a family. Probably, it is possible to be developed as you age and the plaque is accumulated in the arteries with the passage of the years. If you're in overweight, you can get coronary disease as well, or if you have the high blood pressure or diabetes. High levels of cholesterol can lead to the condition too. The coronary disease can be given as a result of choosing bad habits such as to smoke, to consume diets with high fat contents and sedentarism.

    What is cholesterol?

The key factor to control in a coronary heart disease diet, is cholesterol. The cholesterol is a serious substance that the body makes and uses to protect the nerves, to form cellular weaves and to produce certain hormones. Also, it is present in the meat and the milky products that you eat. Several types of cholesterol exist: these include lipoproteins of low density (LDL by its initials in English) and lipoproteins of HD (HDL by its initials in English).

Cholesterol LDL is known as "the bad" cholesterol because it is possible to be accumulated in the internal part of the arteries, causing these to narrow even more because of the plaque. Cholesterol HDL is known like the "good one" because it protects arteries from the formation of plaque deposits.

Many foods, even if they do not contain cholesterol, contain fats that can diminish or increase cholesterol LDL or HDL. Every patient must speak with his doctor about how much his diet can affect cholesterol levels.

Improve Your Well-Being – How Your Attitude to Health Can Help

    What is Health?

How do you define health? Is it a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being? Is it merely the absence of disease or infirmity? Or is health a resource for everyday life, rather than the objective of living; a positive concept, emphasising social and personal resources as well as physical capabilities?

Good health is harder to define than bad health (which can be equated with the presence of disease), because it must convey a concept more positive than mere absence of disease, and there is a variable area between health and disease. Health is clearly a complex, multidimensional concept. Health is, ultimately, poorly defined and difficult to measure, despite impressive efforts by epidemiologists, vital statisticians, social scientists and political economists. Each individual's health is shaped by many factors, including medical care, social circumstances, and behavioural choices.

    Health Care

While it is true to say that health care is the prevention, treatment and management of illness, and the preservation of mental and physical well-being, through the services offered by the medical, nursing and allied health professions, health-related behaviour is influenced by our own values, which are determined by upbringing, by example, by experience, by the company one keeps, by the persuasive power of advertising (often a force of behaviour that can harm health), and by effective health education. Healthy individuals are able to mobilise all their physical, mental, and spiritual resources to improve their chances of survival, to live happy and fulfilling lives, and to be of benefit to their dependants and society.

Achieving health, and remaining healthy, is an active process. Natural health is based on prevention, and on keeping our bodies and minds in good shape. Health lies in balancing these aspects within the body through a regimen consisting of diet, exercise, and regulation of the emotions. The last of these is too often ignored when health advice is dispensed, but can have a pronounced effect on physical well-being.

    Diet

Every day, or so it seems, new research shows that some aspect of lifestyle – physical activity, diet, alcohol consumption, and so on – affects health and longevity. Physical fitness is good bodily health, and is the result of regular exercise, proper diet and nutrition, and proper rest for physical recovery. The field of nutrition also studies foods and dietary supplements that improve performance, promote health, and cure or prevent disease, such as fibrous foods to reduce the risk of colon cancer, or supplements with vitamin C to strengthen teeth and gums and to improve the immune system. When exercising, it becomes even more important to have a good diet to ensure that the body has the correct ratio of macronutrients whilst providing ample micronutrients; this is to aid the body in the recovery process following strenuous exercise.

If you're trying to lose weight by "dieting", do not call it a diet, first of all – successful dieters do not call what they do a "diet". A healthy diet and regular physical activity are both important for maintaining a healthy weight. Even literate, well-educated people sometimes have misguided views about what makes or keeps them healthy, often believing that regular daily exercise, regular bowel movements, or a specific dietary regime will alone suffice to preserve their good health. Despite the ever-changing, ever-conflicting opinions of the medical experts as to what is good for us, one aspect of what we eat and drink has remained constantly agreed by all: a balanced diet.

A balanced diet comprises a mixture of the main varieties of nutriments (protein, carbohydrates, fats, minerals, and vitamins). Proper nutrition is just as, if not more, important to health as exercise. If you're concerned about being overweight, you do not need to add the extra stress of "dieting". No "low-fat this" or "low-carb that"; just healthful eating of smaller portions, with weight loss being a satisfying side effect. Improve health by eating real food in moderation. (For many reasons, not everyone has easy access to or incentives to eat a balanced diet. Nevertheless, those who eat a well-balanced diet are healthier than those who do not.)

    Exercise

Physical exercise is considered important for maintaining physical fitness and overall health (including healthy weight), building and maintaining healthy bones, muscles and joints, promoting physiological well-being, reducing surgical risks, and strengthening the immune system. Aerobic exercises, such as walking, running and swimming, focus on increasing cardiovascular endurance and muscle density. Anaerobic exercises, such as weight training or sprinting, increase muscle mass and strength. Proper rest and recovery are also as important to health as exercise, otherwise the body exists in a permanently injured state and will not improve or adapt adequately to the exercise. The above two factors can be compromised by psychological compulsions (eating disorders, such as exercise bulimia, anorexia, and other bulimias), misinformation, a lack of organisation, or a lack of motivation.

Ask your doctor or physical therapist what exercises are best for you. Your doctor and / or physical therapist can recommend specific types of exercise, depending on your particular situation. You can use exercises to keep strong and limber, improve cardiovascular fitness, extend your joints' range of motion, and reduce your weight. You should never be too busy to exercise. There's always a way to squeeze in a little exercise, no matter where you are. Eliminate one or maybe even two items from your busy schedule to free up time to fit in some exercise and some "YOU" time. Finding an exercise partner is a common workout strategy.

    Emotions

You may have heard about the benefits of diet and exercise ad nauseam, but may be unaware of the effect that your emotions can have on your physical well-being and, indeed, your longevity. Like physical health, mental health is important at every stage of life. Mental health is how we think, feel, and act in order to face life's situations. Prolonged psychological stress may have a negative impact on health, such as weakening the immune system.

Children are particularly vulnerable. Caring for and protecting a child's mental health is a major part of helping that child to grow into a normal adult, accepted into society. Mental health problems are not just a passing phase. Children are at greater risk for developing mental health problems when certain factors occur in their lives or environments. Mental health problems include depression, bipolar disorder (manic-depressive illness), attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, schizophrenia and conduct disorder. Do your best to provide a safe and loving home and community for your child, as well as nutritious meals, regular health check-ups, immunisations and exercise. Many children experience mental health problems that are real and painful, and they can be severe. Mental health problems affect at least one in every five young people at any given time. Tragically, an estimated two-thirds of all young people with mental health problems are not getting the help they need. Mental health problems can lead to school failure, alcohol or other drug abuse, family discord, violence, or even suicide. A variety of signs may point to a possible mental health problem in a child or teenager. Talk to your doctor, a school counsellor, or other mental health professionals who are trained to assess whether your child has a mental health problem.

Control your emotions. If a driver overtakes you on the wrong side, or pulls out of a side road in front of you, do not seethe with rage and honk your horn; You're hurting no one but yourself by raising your blood pressure. Anger has been linked to heart disease, and research has suggested that hardening of the arteries occurs faster in people who score highly in hostility and anger tests. Stay calm in such situations, and feel proud of yourself for doing so. Take comfort in the knowledge that such aggressive drivers only increase their own blood pressure. Your passengers will be more impressed with your "cool" than with your irascibility.

If you are in a constant rush, feeling that every second of your life counts, just slow down a little. Yes, every second does count, but consider the concept of quality of life. Compare how you feel when you're in a hurry with how you feel when you're not. Which feels better? Rushing everywhere increases your stress level. The body tries to overcome stress by making certain physiological adjustments. Some time after you slow down, the physiological adjustments and the stress symptoms revert to normal. If you do not ever slow down, the physiological adjustments and the stress symptoms persist. It is this persistence of the body's response that matters. You may develop physical, physiological or psychological problems, and may not be able to lead a normal life. Many cases of stress are somehow connected with money, or rather the lack of it. Such people struggle to make ends meet or to acquire more material possessions. This brings us to our final discussion: attitude.

    Attitude

It is always pleasant to enjoy the fruits of our labours, of course. Sometimes, however, it seems that whatever we do, it's just not enough to be able to afford that new car or that foreign holiday. So, what do we usually do then? We work harder, longer; we increase the stress on our minds and bodies; we spend less time with our families and friends; we become more irascible and less likeable people. If you find yourself in this situation, just stop for a moment, and consider: Is it all worth it? What is the purpose of life? Surely it is to be happy. You'll probably be happier if you adopt the philosophy that true quality of life is not to be found in material things. If you convince yourself that you want less, you'll need less. If you need less, you'll cope with life more easily, and the happier, and therefore healthier, you'll be. Buddha called this "enlightenment". Enjoy a "good-health attitude". Focus on your abilities instead of disabilities. Be satisfied with what you have, rather than be dissatisfied about what you do not have and probably never will have.

If you simply can not cope with a healthy diet, exercise and emotional control, but genuinely prefer to eat junk food, be permanently drunk, be under constant stress, and be disliked by others, then enjoy your life while it lasts, but understand that the trade-off is that it will probably not last long. If you accept this willingly, you'll be happy. There is some merit in the philosophy that it is better to live a short, happy life than a long, miserable one.

    Conclusion

Personal or individual health is largely subjective. For most individuals and for many cultures, however, health is a philosophical and subjective concept, associated with contentment, and often taken for granted when all is going well. The evidence that behavioural factors such as diet, physical activity, smoking and stress influence health is overwhelming. Thus, health is maintained and improved not only through the advancement and application of health science, but also through the efforts and intelligent lifestyle choices of the individual and society. Perhaps the best thing you can do for your health is to keep a positive attitude. Optimal health can be defined as a balance of physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual health. Maintain a positive attitude!

    Asperger’s Syndrome Diagnosis and Treatment

    Overview

Asperger’s Syndrome is a disorder characterized on the scale towards autism, and is something that is increasingly diagnosed and dealt with regarding a wide variety of children and young adults. Asperger’s is, generally speaking, a high functioning disorder with psychological undertones, in which teens and young children have a difficult living and interacting with young people and their peers.

On the other hand, though, those with the syndrome are generally incredibly intelligent and incredibly high functioning, though they may lack social skills and more when it comes to playing with their peers, showing empathy towards others, and more.

The disorder has seen a very fast rise in terms of the number of people who are affected by this disorder, and for many people it has been something that has increasingly affected their lives and more as parents attempt to cope with this disorder without much information to go on. Psychologists, doctors, and more have been working extensively over the last few years to understand how Asperger’s may occur, as well as to better understand how to improve the condition for a wide variety of people and in a wide variety of situations.

    Diagnosis

The diagnosis of Asperger’s is not a simple one, as a great many options exist for finding someone to be on the Asperger’s or autism scale. Generally speaking, diagnosis is made and undertaken by a psychologist in conjunction with the work of a doctor or medical professional, the two of which can effectively figure out a diagnosis across the board and determine what is happening to a person who is suspected of having the disorder.

That being said, though, it is not as simple of a diagnosis as, say, a cold or a broken bone. There are various places on the spectrum and various observations to be made that can make diagnosing very, very difficult. The diagnosis is typically taken, then, over a good deal of time after observation has been made and treatment has been understood.

    Treatment

Typically, treatment for the syndrome can involve a wide variety of things, from various issues related to medication, to other therapeutic treatments and more. Many sufferers of this disorder do very well with treatments when they are centered around changing behaviors and putting these children into schools and communities with educated teachers and similar situations around them to help their living situation and quality of life.

Still others who suffer from the disorder are treated through behavior therapy and more, and work to learn to interact with other people in a positive way. The road can be long, of course, but the good news is that those with Asperger’s can function very well in society over time – and in fact, many sufferers do much better than you may think when it comes to getting the most out of their lives and their roles in societies as they grow up and become adults. For many people living with this issue, the road is not short, nor is it a dead end; Asperger’s provides plenty of challenges and opportunities to meet and succeed.

How to Prevent Breakdowns on the Road

It is amazing that many auto breakdowns that occur while on the road could have been avoided with some simple and regular car maintenance. That seems obvious, but yet it is common to see a car stranded on the side of the road with the owner impatiently waiting for assistance. Most people would agree it is much nicer to be sitting in the comfort of the home or office while the car is being maintained rather than stuck on the roadside with a car not going anywhere until repaired.

Preventing breakdowns on the road requires common sense approaches to auto maintenance. Many breakdowns are not related to the fact today's car engines are more complex or involve sophisticated components. Cars still break down today because fluids are allowed to reach low levels or simple repairs are not taken care of in a timely manner. In other words, many breakdowns are simply the end result of failing to properly maintain the most basic functions.

    The Psychic Mobile Mechanic

The mobile mechanic may seem a bit psychic, because he or she can look into the future and "know" events most likely to take place without engine, component, and system routine maintenance. Preventing breakdowns begins with completing routine tasks.

    * Keep all fluids at proper levels including oil, transmission, and brake fluids

    * Check belts, such as serpentine and fan belts, and hoses, such as radiator hoses, for signs of cracking or fraying

    * Check the tires for proper inflation

    * Check the brakes for signs of wear such as worn pads

    * Check the battery terminals for corrosion

    * Verify air conditioning system is operating properly

    * Keep filters cleaned and free of blockages

    * Check shocks

These are the routine tasks though in the newest vehicles even many of the most routine tasks require specialised equipment and tools. Even if you decide to do as many of these systems, fluid, and filter checks yourself, the odds are an auto mechanic will need to actually do the maintenance work unless you have an equipped auto workshop at home.

    Changing the Future

The mobile mechanic drives a fully equipped van which contains everything needed to do routine maintenance and diagnostic testing. The general diagnostic testing should be completed periodically to uncover developing mechanical or component problems which could lead to a breakdown.

    * Change oil

    * Replace fluids

    * Inflate tires

    * Complete diagnostic testing of transmission, electrical system, engine, fuel injection system, and air conditioner

    * Test battery charge

    * Flush and refill cooling system with specified coolant

    * Replace worn belts and hoses

    * Replace air and fuel filters

    * Treat fuel system to clean components such as intake valves and combustion chamber

    * Install new shocks

If the diagnostic testing produces fault codes, the mobile mechanic can perform necessary repairs before the car breaks down. It is so much better to stop a problem which can lead to an inoperable auto. Everyone knows that cars break down at the most inopportune times and in the worst locations. It is just one of life's many mysteries.

Regular inspection and maintenance of your auto will keep it running smoothly and increase its reliability. Just as important is the fact regular engine and auto system maintenance will extend the life of your vehicle. This is important when you consider new autos are becoming more and more expensive.

The mobile car mechanic may not be psychic, but it sure seems that way when he or she can change the future by taking care of the present.

Why Do Legs and Ankles Swell Up?

If you notice swelling in your ankles, it's a good idea to find out what the problem is. Injuries, gout and arthritis are fairly common causes, but obesity, pregnancy and circulation problems are also possible. Treatments differ depending on the root cause of the inflammation.

    1) Arthritis: Both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis can attack joints. RA tends to hit small bones, such as those in the hands, wrists, feet and ankles. Osteoarthritis is usually caused by wear and tear. Joints in the hips, knees and ankles are usually affected by it over the course of a lifetime.

RA is best treated by the doctors, as it is an auto-immune disorder. Osteoarthritis can be treated by both a doctor and some home remedies. Topical pain relievers such as capsaicin, willow bark and tea tree oil may be useful, though avoid willow if you are allergic to aspirin. Internally, willow and gotu kola could help.

    2) Clots: If the inflammation is only in one joint, it could be the result of a blood clot, also called deep vein thrombosis. This is potentially both life altering and life threatening, and should be treated immediately. If your doctor is not available, go to urgent care or the emergency room if you suspect a clot.

    3) Gout: The buildup of uric acid in your blood stream can lead to crystals that get deposited in your joints. Those of the feet and ankles are usually the first to show signs of it The initial diagnosis should be made by your doctor, and you will probably receive some prescriptions to help control the problem.

Cherry juice may also be suggested, and it is a very good idea. It can help reduce uric acid in the blood and it can help reduce inflammation. Do not use willow bark if you have gout, as it can cause flare ups. It has the same active ingredient as aspirin, which should also be avoided.

    4) Infection: Most causes of this condition are of fluid, but that from an infection could be full of pus. Again, it may be only on one ankle, if it is a localized infection. You may need antibiotics to deal with it, and it is important to check with the doctor. Untreated infections can cause a lot of problems, spreading to other parts of the body. Garlic may be helpful internally. Externally, a drawing agent such as baking soda could help.

    5) Injury: This is probably the most common cause of inflammation, especially in young people. Sprains, strains and breaks will cause the condition. Treatment depends in part on which type of injury it is, but all of them will respond to RICE, rest, ice, compression and elevation. Hot wraps may be applied after the first forty-eight hours. You can use a decoction of willow bark and gotu kola for this application.

    6) Obesity: Being overweight puts a lot of pressure on the joints, especially from the knees down. This overwork can lead to swelling. Besides losing weight, elevation and ice may be helpful.

    7) Pregnancy: If you notice your ankles have gotten larger, call the doctor; two lives are at stake … yours and the babies. This is not always a sign of pre-eclampsia, but it could be. Only your doctor can diagnose it, and the doctor is the best one to treat it. There are several things that can be done, but all require expert medical attention.

    8) Varicose veins: This is also a circulation issue, and it's one most people do not appreciate a lot. Besides swelling and pain, they are unsightly. They can be controlled to a certain extent by wearing compression stockings and keeping your legs and feet propped up. You'll want to avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time, and if you're overweight, dropping the extra pounds will help.

Before you start any new herbal remedy or home treatment, check with your doctor and / or pharmacist. Let them know all the supplements and herbal remedies you are using so they can help you prevent harmful interactions between the herbs and any medications you are taking.

    Drug Rehab For Young Adults

If you are a young adult and have a drug problem or have a family member who is suffering from addiction, an option would be to attend a residential young adult drug rehab clinic. There, you or your relative can start to make roads into recovering from dependency on drugs. Rehab clinics can offer the encouragement and support needed to be able to conquer this habit.

    Adolescent Years

The teenage years and early adulthood can sometimes be a traumatic part of a person's life. They are much more emotionally vulnerable than people in their thirties and this can sometimes manifest as extreme mood swings. Many turn to drugs for different reasons, from emotional problems to peer pressure, and can easily become addicted. A rehab clinic can offer an ideal environment to deal with not only their addictions but also any associated problems.

    Health Insurance

The cost of the stay could be covered by health insurance, so it is worthwhile to check this with the provider. These privately run clinics are comfortable and clean and the patient will be made to feel secure that they are going to receive the best possible treatment. All staff at the clinic is supportive and sensitive to each person's needs.

    Peers

All the other patients are suffering from similar experiences and peer-to-peer support from people in a similar age group is an important part of the treatment. Group sessions can give the patient an opportunity to express their feelings and exchange ideas on how to overcome their cravings. They will also receive one to one counseling to try and get to the root of the problem.

    Mental Illness

Sometimes, addictions can be indicative of mental illness and there are psychiatrists and psychologists at these residential care homes to provide any extra help needed. This could be through the use of medications. Other therapies can also be discussed.

    Holistic Treatment

A much more holistic approach is taken by many clinics. For example, there are places that could offer treatments based on alternative therapies. These can deal with the stresses caused by cravings without the need for medication, or as a complementary therapy in addition to them if needed.

    Recreation

Recreational activities are also on offer to ensure that the patient has something to keep him or her motivated in their recovery. They can take part in sports such as swimming or basketball. Other leisure activities on offer at many of these residential clinics are horse riding, fishing and even the occasional outing to the shops.

    Life Skills Training

Young adults will also receive life skills coaching. This will help to prepare them for their future and get the ball rolling on their future plans such as education or career options. This is a very important part of treatment as it gives the young adults options and helps them think about their future enabling them to get better to achieve their goals.

    Family

The family is also very much involved in the patient's recovery program. They can receive advice and education on recognizing emotional triggers that could lead to a relapse. They also get emotional support and family counseling. Families are also encouraged to get involved in some leisure activities with their loved ones.

Reasons Why Laughter Is the Best Medicine

You must have heard since your childhood that “Laughter is the best medicine”. But in the modern competitive world, man people hardly care about the saying and believe that laughter has no major role in their health. But such people do not realize that they are making a grave mistake until simple moments of life make them realize the same. Laughter has got a major role in maintaining good health including a healthy mind. Many believe that laughter only acts as a temporary source of happiness. But laughter not only provides us with a source of happiness but also keeps away many diseases. There are many diseases and adverse conditions such as stress, fatigue etc. where laughter works better than any actual medicine. Here are a few points to show how laughter is the best medicine:

    1. A recent study by cardiologists proved that a person who has a habit of laughing frequently has a lesser chance of facing a heart attack. Laughter might not be directly related to prevention of heart attack but it reduces mental stress. And mental stress results in impairment of the endothelium, the protective barrier lining our blood vessels. This in turn results in a series of reactions that result in building of fat and cholesterol in the arteries leading to heart attack. So, laughter indirectly also prevents heart attack.

    2. Laughter decreases the chances of a stroke. This is because of the blood vessel expansion during laughing keeps away the possibility of stroke.

    3. Laughing is believed to be a good cardio workout which increases flow of blood by about 22%. Watching a comedy movie resulting in a good dose of laughter is believed to give body the same effect provided during a 15-30 minutes workout.

    4. The respiratory system acquires more air during laughter which is good for the body. This is due to the expansion of respiratory valves during laughter. It also helps our respiratory tract clean. Thus, laughter is a very good medicine for our breathing mechanism.

    5. It is proved that laughing helps to control sugar level in the blood. So, if you have diabetes then try to enjoy life and laugh everyday. Because only medicines cannot control these sugar levels at times. Laughter and happiness have also been proven to helpful for diabetes patients.

    6. It is believed that a stress free body will have less diseases. Laughing helps to create a stress free mind. It is said that there is no tension during laughter. And a relieved and stress free body results in a healthy body more often than not. So, it is not easy for diseases to affect a person who is happy and laughs everyday. So, laughter tends to be a cost free medicine for all kinds of ailments.

    7. Laughter has no side effects for sure whereas all modern-day medicines have got some side effects. So, we can laugh without worrying about any harm caused to us. Laughter can never harm us but only help us all the time.

    8. Laughter is also proven to enhance the facial beauty of a person. Laughter results in movements of the lips and the facial muscles. It has been observed that people who have a good sense of humor and who laugh everyday also have a beautiful face. Due to the amount of facial exercise in laughter there is good amount of blood circulation in the face resulting in a glowing face.

A happy mind leads to a happy body and soul. And there are hardly many things that can result in more happiness than a genuine dose of laughter. So, try to be happy and laugh every day of your life. It will release all the pressure and make this world a lot better place to live in for you as well as for others.
