Easy Healthy Diet From Paleo Cookbooks

Everybody in this universe wants to lead a healthy life. Most of us are not successful in achieving a normalized body health. Obesity is the main problem for many of us. It is not needed to waste time in gym sweating with the heavy objects. Simply boosting our levels of general daily activity can improve our health to a greater extent. Diet and fitness form a main part of our daily activity. When it comes to diet we have to be cautious about the type of food we intake and the extent of nutrition our body consumes. A proper proportion of the food intake and nutrients level are the causes for boosting our health.

When it comes to eating habits, all of us are designed to eat fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and animals. This is the ultimate secret (which is not really a secret) to optimal health, losing weight, staying lean, improved performance, reduced risk of injury and faster recovery and healing.

After many trials and errors, I finally discovered that it is always better and safe to go by nature. Honestly speaking, I am not a good cook. Once I purchased the Paleo cookbooks, I found the recipes and instructions to be very simple and I was able to cook tasty meals. I found that my diet was just about the opposite of what everybody ate. I even spent less time thinking about food and more time just enjoying a healthy and vibrant life. I was able to create many interesting recipes that helped me to stay away from sweets and fried foods. My BMI (Body Mass Index) reduced to a greater extent within a month. I realized that I was smart in making the right changes in my life to achieve great health.

The Paleo Cookbooks introduced many delicious recipes which is a diet designed by nature. These books have shown positive results to many of us like good weight loss results, increased energy levels, bright & soft skin and a strong immune system. Eating natural foods that make up the Paleo diet promote such wonderful results.

The main reason to follow this cookbook is that it is always safe to follow a Paleo diet. The Paleo Diet is based on what our prehistoric human ancestors consumed. During the paleolithic age, our ancestors used to eat the food from nature. They didn’t suffer from diabetes, obesity, heart diseases, cancer, auto-immune system and other chronic disorders. Their natural way of living made them healthy, fit and strong. It is interesting to know that the mortality rates were very low in places like Japan and Mediterranean compared to other places. This is because their dietary habits were paleolithic.

In this cookbook we don’t find processed foods, preservatives, vegetable oils, sodas, legumes and dairy products. Instead there are a lot of recipes for egg, fish, fruits, vegetables, shell fish, seafood and nuts. For our convenience they have included guide to cook a healthy diet, easy cooking time charts, a guide to cook fats and meat charts to help us understand the Paleo diet and keep us on the path to follow a healthier diet and enjoying improved health. It is not too late to change our habits and establish a healthy lifestyle. So don’t waste your time breaking your heads, making a hell lot of trial and errors in searching for a healthy recipe. My best suggestion for the recipe that fits your body in all ways is the Paleo cookbooks.

All the materials are digital and are available instantly in PDF format compatible with any computer. That means you can enjoy everything today. This is the perfect cookbook for quick Paleo recipe ideas as well as time and cost saving options.

Weight Loss Secrets Revealed

It seems there is a mystery which surrounds all people on a diet: how to find the “weight loss fat burner secrets” that will end their misery, obesity, or simple desire to be thinner, ultimately without too much extra work or additional suffering.

For many women and men for that matter – who have been on a diet seemingly all their lives, “weight loss fat burner secrets” would relieve them of the on-going stress of “sticking to the diet”.

How many people do you know that start a diet at the beginning of the week, only to end up binging on a Friday (treat night!), letting go on the weekend, and deciding to start it up again on Monday, only to repeat the cycle endlessly again week after week? Off-hand, I know six, seven including myself!

Making matters worse is the fact that most of the time people “on a diet” end up heavier after their diet than they were before they began it!

Also, many people confuse alternative remedies such as Green Tea drops, hypnotherapy, or acupuncture with “weight loss fat burner secrets”. In their minds, these treatments will inexplicably disintegrate the fat without them so much as lifting a finger. That’s not a “secret”, that’s a miracle!

Unfortunately, these “weight loss fat burner secrets” are not so much “secrets” as “common sense” although, with a bit of extra know-how regarding aerobic and anaerobic exercise and how each of them works, it is possible to glean what could be construed as “weight loss fat burner secrets”.

The first of these “weight loss fat burner secrets” is to know that the greater the intensity of exercise, the faster your metabolism works, and the more efficiently you burn fat and calories. In other words a high-intensity workout for a short time will in effect, burn the same amount of calories than a lower-intensity workout for a much longer time.

The next of these “weight loss fat burner secrets” is to cull the amount of time spent on each exercise focusing more on “how” you do them rather than “how long you do them for”. It is no good just throwing your limbs around aimlessly and hoping that you are doing something right. Nor is it beneficial to do hundreds of repetitions of exercises incorrectly. All you will end up doing is getting tired and hurting yourself.

Another one of the more well-known “weight loss fat burner secrets” is to do regular exercise. It is hardly likely that you will increase your metabolism if you only workout 1 day a week, even though 1 day is still better than no days.

Of course, there are many more “weight loss fat burner secrets” such as breathing, technique, and types of exercise, to name a few, however probably the greatest one which rarely gets a mention is that of “willpower”. Mind over matter is not just a catch-phrase, it really is true.

So, if you have the willpower to stick to a program, diet, or regime, then all the “weight loss fat burner secrets” are yours for the taking it, and will work!

Over the years, my friend had tried all sorts of diets such as the famous Atkins diet a low-carb weight loss plan.

There was also the Soup diet a 7-day plan comprising of eating only soup leading to a substantial weight loss in a short amount of time as it was designed for obese patients needing to lose weight quickly before having surgery.

She tried the Food Combining Diet eating certain foods in combination and avoiding mixing carbs and protein on the same day, supposed to speed up weight loss.

Next she decided Complan, a diet that guarantees weight loss as major meals are replaced with quite a tasty calorie-controlled drink – was the way to go.

She also gave the low calorie “fad” diets, found in gossip magazines, a go!

Though there are more that I haven’t listed, you get the idea. Ultimately, there wasn’t a diet in existence that she hadn’t tried!

Most of the time, these diets did do what they promised. Weight loss ensued and for a few weeks afterwards too. However, once my friend returned to her “normal” lifestyle, naturally, so too the weight returned with it, as well as disappointment and the feeling she had wasted her time.

That was when she went to a dietician who told her that natural weight loss was possible if she combined a healthy diet with a little daily exercise. Simply put, all she had to do was burn up more calories per day than she was eating. Not that this was news to her. I mean, let’s face it, everyone knows that!

What most people don’t know is that with a relatively small amount of high-powered exercise, weight loss is possible. The key is to do it regularly, ideally, daily.

First Aid Kit Checklist

During an emergency, whether it is a traumatic injury or medical illness, first aid providers are bound by the equipment they have to use at the time of the emergency. It does not matter if you are a Doctor, Nurse, Paramedic, or basic first aid provider, if you do not have your tools of the trade your care is limited to what you have.

Most commercial businesses including restaurants, shopping malls, stores, and hotels have a first aid kit on the premises and many of them are required to have them. Many lay persons also carry some type of kit in their cars and have them at home. These kits can be purchased in most stores or online and many are made for specific areas such as home, car, boat, office, or restaurant. You can also make-up a kit on your own buy buying the specific supplies which will save you quite a bit of money compared to buying a ready made kit. You can use any type of bag or container to hold the supplies that you need.

Below is a first aid kit checklist to help you buy and maintain your kit:

  • Absorbent Compress
  • Adhesive Bandage
  • Adhesive Tape
  • Antibiotic Treatment
  • Antiseptic Swab
  • Antiseptic Wipe
  • Antiseptic Towelette
  • Bandage Compress 2 inch
  • Bandage Compress 3 inch
  • Bandage Compress 4 inch
  • Burn Dressing
  • Burn Treatment
  • CPR Barrier
  • Cold Packs
  • Eye Covering
  • Eye Wash
  • Gloves
  • Roller Bandage 4 inch
  • Roller Bandage 2 inch
  • Sterile Pad
  • Triangular Bandage

Having a kit is important but equally important is knowing how to use all the supplies in it. Medical professionals are trained to use all of the supplies in the kit but lay persons should take a basic first aid course to learn how and when to use the supplies and equipment at their disposal. To find out more about a first aid course in your area contact your local National Safety Council chapter or visit the American Heart Association website to find an instructor in your area.

Truth In Hospital Advertising Will Prevent Catastrophic Injuries And Save Lives

Now that we have Mandatory Disclosures of Medical Mistakes, Should not We Require Disclosure of Hospital Hazards?

A number of states have already passed laws requiring hospitals to disclose medical and nursing errors to patients or their next of kin. The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations has instituted the post incident disclosure requirement as a standard of care in administrative policy. Although it is nice to see a trend away from covering up medical blunders, how does this help prevent them? What about disclosing conditions that are likely to cause injury such as a severe nursing shortage on a particular unit? Are there no "truth-in-advertising" laws that require full disclosure if the hospital administration knows in advance that it can not provide services in accordance with its representations?

Notwithstanding the fact that a full staff is no guarantee against mistakes, an unsafe staffing level is the most visible indicator of general deterioration in the quality of care. The following is a partial list of problems arising out of not having enough nurses on duty:

Patient calls for assistance remain unanswered;

Medication errors;

Injuries from falling;

Failure to follow physicians orders;

Incompetent nursing care from lack of supervision;

Failure to report changes in clinical condition;

Narcotic overdose from patient controlled analgesia;

Fetal hypoxia during childbirth.

Hospitals have a standard number of staff required for each unit based on a full census. The actual numbers can be less when there are empty beds (except for labor and delivery units). However, there is a risk that the beds would fill up during a particular shift. For example, a twelve-bed surgical intensive care unit usually requires at least six nurses (one nurse for two patients). Sometimes more are needed for one-to-one nursing. If there are less patients at the beginning of the shift a fewer number of nurses would obviously still be safe unless the supervisor authorizes additional admissions without adding more nurses. In many hospitals where there are chronic shortages, having three to four nurses in a full twelve-bed unit is common and the staff nurses are sending unsafe staffing reports to the nursing office on every shift. Whenever such a situation exists, the patients and family members are not being given full disclosure and the hospital advertisement continues to give the impression that the hospital is fully capable of delivering the highest possible quality of care.

Case in point:

The following is part of an advertisement on the web site of a hospital in New York City

"The _______ Hospital has identified a number of clinical areas for which the provision of cutting-edge care depends upon superb coordination and the devotion of extraordinary institutional resources … Brings together the specialized doctors, staff, technology and support structures that are needed for delivery of care that is second to none anywhere. "

This well known institution does provide state-of-the-art technology and when the units are fully staffed they are usually well run. However, there have been many instances of unsafe staffing levels in all of the critical areas, regular floors and the labor and delivery unit. Additionally, the hospital employs a staffing coordinator who posts the staffing schedules two months in advance. Therefore, when a severe shortage exists for any shift the hospital administration knew about it two months earlier. Yet the advertisement makes the reader believe the best possible care is being provided and consumers are unaware that there is a problem.

Since the quality of care as advertised can only be upheld with a full compliment of nursing staff, severe shortages that were known in advance without disclosing the consequential increased risk of iatrogenic complications compromises the patient's safety and robs him / her of the opportunity to avoid the injury. Furthermore, advertising extolling the high quality of care in the face of such known staffing shortages is tantamount to misrepresentation.

In a nutshell, if all hospitals were required to give full disclosure to the public of dangerous conditions such as any units for which their nurses filed an unsafe staffing report, the patient's family members would have the opportunity to take steps to protect their loved ones. Moreover, the requirement for such disclosure would motivate hospital management personnel to correct existing hospital hazards and prevent new ones. This would indeed be an "intervention for prevention".

American Doctors Make More Money

The fact that doctors make a substantial amount of money isn’t much of a secret. What most people may be surprised to find is that American physician salaries are often much higher than that of international physicians. With the exception of a few specialists, international doctors are looking to the US to earn higher paying salaries. American primary care doctors make, on average, $80,000 more per year than international physicians in the same field of practice. In 2008, the average physician salaries for primary care physicians were $171,000 a year. Physician salaries vary by region, population, economy and demand, but it’s clear to see that physicians in the United States of America are earning much more than the rest. Most doctors make a lot of money because they have invested a lot of time and effort in their education and licensing. Additionally, a physician manages difficult matters that can often be stressful or time consuming and are compensated accordingly.

International physicians are often held to similar standards as their American counterparts, but due to socialized health care or economic conditions, the pay is often much less. In Canada, doctors make about $50,000 less than the physician salaries found on the other side of the southern border. This could be due to Canada’s government health care system. In Mexico, doctors make less than $50,000 a year, mostly in part to the poor economic conditions of that country. American specialists are raking in some of the top physician salaries as well.

The only international physicians who make more than American specialists are Australian and Dutch specialists. Physician salaries for specialists are usually much higher than that of a primary care doctor, usually due to the additional education and focus required. Specialists are authorities in their field of medicine, and doctors make a tremendous commitment to learning and researching aspects of their field. On average, the American specialist earns $230,000 yearly. In Australia, a specialist earns an average of $247,000 a year, while Dutch specialty doctors make an average of $253,000 a year. With the exception of these two countries, American physician salaries are still far above other international physicians. In Poland, they are currently experiencing a shortage of primary care physicians, and an over abundance of specialists. Due to the lack of demand for specialists in Poland, doctors make only $20,000 a year.

While it’s easy to see why many international physicians are relocating to the US for work, it’s important to understand why many American doctors make larger salaries. Most physicians leave medical school with an enormous amount of debt. Education in the states is very expensive, and doctors make a salary to help compensate for student loan repayment. Additionally, American physicians are often required to commit more time to their schedule and call duty availability. With impending modifications to the current American health care system, there may be changes in physician salaries in the future. Until then, American doctors will continue to enjoy some of the greatest pay in the world.

Taylor Lautner’s Workout Routine As Jacob Black in New Moon

Before Describing Taylor Lautner’s Workout, Here is a Quick Bio…

Taylor Lautner was born on February 12, 1992. So was 17 at the time Twilight New Moon was filmed. From the age of 6 to 13 was accomplished in martial arts. At the age of 12 he won the Junior World Championships as a black belt in karate. Lautner began his acting career in 2001, and by 2008 played Jacob Black the native american character in Twilight.

The Director Considered Casting Someone Else to Play Jacob Black in New Moon

The Director of New Moon, Catherine Hardwicke, considered casting someone else to replace Taylor Lautner. She wanted someone with more muscle and more believable to play Jacob Black. You see, Jacob turns into a werewolf in this movie and she wanted someone with a stronger physical presence than Taylor Lautner.

Taylor Had to Gain Muscle Quickly or Possibly Lose His Role in New Moon

Luckily Taylor had the strong martial arts background which aided him in getting this ripped look. If this was just a 17 year-old with a less athletic background, there is no way he would have been able to display the same degree of muscle tone in such a short period of time.

The Secret to Jacob Black’s Six Pack Abs

Taylor Lautner’s abs were not just a result of the 9 months of training leading up to the shooting of New Moon. His years of martial arts training created muscle density and muscle maturity normally not seen until someone reaches their mid-20’s. People who compete in martial arts derive power from tightening their core…this tightening over time builds hard and defined muscles in the abs. The way to reveal the abs is dieitng down to a low body fat percentage, but the reason Taylor Lautner had an excpetional six pack was due to his martial arts experience.

The Gaining Muscle Part for Taylor Was Easy

Taylor quickly put on 20 pounds of mass due to his age. The thing that fitness magazines never tell you is that you are easily able to gain mass when you first workout. The amount of muscle Taylor put on his body was the natural amount of muscle he was suppose to have. He isn’t big by any stretch of the imagination, which is good. Like just about any young guy I’ve worked with, Taylor was able to quickly fill in and get close to his genetic potential quickly. He did it in 9 months, since he had so much time he could devote to this…this typically takes 12-24 months for most guys.

When Interviewed About How He Got in Shape for New Moon…

If you see any of Taylor Lautner’s interviews, you will notice he is pretty vague about his workouts…he says things like “I worked out a lot and ate a lot”. Honestly, this is all it takes for a young guy in his late teens to early 20’s to gain those 15-25 pounds. The trick is to then get lean and ripped. This is where I come in and help men and women get that lean “Hollywood” look…

Find a Doctor Before You Need One

In some places around the world, patients are charged for medical care when they are well, but are charged nothing when they are sick. In the United States, things are the other way around. You pay for medical care at all times, of course, but few people bother to realize what they need to find. Doctor professionals are necessary even when you they are well. This can lead to clinics and hospitals feeling something akin to the holiday rush at those times of the year when everyone seems to be catching that bug that’s going around. But with the proper planning, you can prepare for these instances. Find a doctor before you need one and you’ll be sure to have the care you need when you do.

Physicians in all parts of the country are usually very busy. If you are not an established patient at a particular office, it can take months to get an appointment. If you are having chronic chest pain, or difficulty taking deep breaths, or if your carpal tunnel is acting up, you might have to simply live with it for a long time before you get that appointment. This is why it is so important to find a doctor when you are completely well. You can establish that relationship, be seen by the office as a priority patient, and be sure you can get in to see your physician when things go awry.

Of course, there are other benefits to establishing a long term relationship with a practitioner. The truth is that few people are enough in tune with their bodies to know for sure whether they really are well. There could easily be problems brewing beneath the surface. It can’t be overstates how crucial early detection is in healing almost any problem or disease the human body faces. The more advanced the illness, the more difficult it will be for even modern medicine to cure it. When these things are found at an early stage, the physician will have many more options when it comes to successful treatment.

There is a final benefit to having a physician you see on a regular basis. If you need to see a specialist, they can give you a referral that will not only save you the hassle of searching high and low for a good doctor, but will be able to jump you past a long waiting line of appointments. When you need care, you often need it right now. Having a referral from a respected general practitioner can ensure that you get it.

  • Certain illnesses.

As we mentioned earlier, there are many fatigue tiredness reasons, meaning causes so this list is not exhaustive. On the other hand, these are some very common reasons. Therefore, the first step in trying to combat fatigue is to take a personal inventory and begin to reduce them. Most often, more than one factor is involved. Moreover, it’s important to note that when your body is lacking good nutrition many of these fatigue tiredness reasons (causes) can even take a bigger toll as to how tired you feel.

So, when should you seek medical help?

  • If your fatigue worsens or persists in spite of home treatments.
  • If your fatigue is sudden or persistent, despite adequate rest.

Dietary Suggestions To Help You Combat Some Of Those Controllable (Non Medical) Fatigue Tiredness Reasons

To boost physical and mental energy…

  • Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet. In addition, focus on increasing fruits and vegetables, whole grain foods, low fat dairy products and lean meats.
  • Reduce the amount of high fat, high sugar, and high salt foods.
  • Limit your alcohol and caffeine intake.
  • Eat breakfast. A carbohydrate-rich breakfast is a good choice such as cereals or whole grain bread. Breakfast refills our energy stores.
  • Eat small amounts of food throughout the day and choose carbohydrates and protein for those mini-meals. This will help keep sugar and energy levels from plummeting.
  • Drink eight-8 ounces of cool, refreshing, pure, filtered water daily. When your body is water deprived, you’re energy is deprived. Therefore, water fights fatigue.

Lifestyle Suggestions To Help You Combat Some Of Those Controllable (Non Medical) Fatigue Tiredness Reasons

  • Refresh yourself with sleep. The body needs 8 hours of rest.
  • Step up fun. Laughter is an excellent energy booster.
  • Reduce stress and deal with anger. Learn or find the time to relax since, as we all know, a hectic lifestyle is exhausting. Anger is also an energy zapper. You may want to try meditation, yoga, aromatherapy, listening to music, reading a novel, or even just talking on the phone.
  • Exercise. Do you know that a 10 minute brisk walk can energize you for 2 hours? Needless to say, increasing physical activity, especially brisk walking increases energy levels.

Dietary Supplements Suggestions To Help Combat Fatigue Tiredness Reasons

If a full medical evaluation is completed and no major causes of your fatigue and/or tiredness are found, you may want to consider supplements to boost energy levels.

First, we believe you should consider taking a high quality multi nutrient supplement that includes a broad spectrum of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, bioflavonoids, carotenoids, herbal extracts, enzymes and other complementary co-factor ingredients. In addition, omega-3 fatty acids such as the well renowned fish oil supplement energizes mood as these fatty acids are essential for proper brain function. In fact, depressed people demonstrate lower levels of these essential fatty acids. Fish oil supplements may help the “moody blues.”

Why a multi nutrient supplement?

We believe you need the entire team on the field first before you try to recruit individual energy boosting nutrients. Put simply, it helps to correct nutritional deficiencies and, as such, may help combat fatigue when combined with a health enhancing lifestyle.

So, what are some other possible energy boosting nutrients?

The B vitamins — Vitamin C — NADH (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) — Magnesium –Bee Pollen –MSM –DMAE — L-Carnitine

However, it’s important to note that the buzz about bee pollen is that this natural energy boosting substance contains all of the nutrients needed to sustain life. As such, it is often referred to as Nature’s Superfood. Therefore, we believe bee pollen is certainly worth a try to help combat fatigue and tiredness.

What about herbs to help combat those controllable (non-medical) fatigue tiredness reasons?

If a full medical evaluation is completed and no major causes of your fatigue and/or tiredness are found, you may want to consider herbs to boost energy levels.

Indeed, there are several herbs that may help combat fatigue and boost energy levels such as Maca, Tongkat Ali, Gingko biloba, and Gotu kola. However, an all-time champ is Ginseng. In fact, Siberian ginseng is often used to treat chronic fatigue syndrome. Siberian ginseng enhances the body’s ability to cope with stress and is highly respected as a very potent energy enhancer.

Anti Snoring Chin Strap – Best Anti Snoring Solution

Snoring may be perceived as normal to most people, but snoring can actually have an effect on your health and relationship. It can become a teething problem and a source of discomfort between you and your significant other. Exercises, mouth pieces, nose strips, and throat sprays are among the common snoring solutions you can choose from. And if you don’t have nasal problem, a great snore solution for you is to have an anti-snoring chin strap.

A snoring chin strap is an anti-snore device that helps keep your jaw and mouth shut. You should wear it across the chin to help those individuals who snore because they breathe from the mouth.

The common reason why people snore is because there is blockage in the air passage. To get around this blockage, they tend to open their mouths when sleeping. This results in dry mouth, leading to louder snoring. If you sleep with an open mouth, this will result in building up unnecessary pressure in the throat. This only constricts the air passage and will lead to louder snoring.

An anti-snoring chin strap is a great solution to snoring problems. However, if you sleep with mouth open due to stuffed up nose, do not attempt to sleep with a snoring chin strap if you haven’t cleared your nose yet. An effective solution to stuffed nose is nasal sprays or strips. After you have cleared your nose, you may put on the anti-snore chin strap.

There are two types of anti-snore chin strap. The first kind is worn under the chin and through strips is attached to the cheeks. The other type is like an elastic band word under the chin and attached around the top of the head. This type is more user friend and simple to use. It is designed to keep your tongue from obstructing your airway by pulling your jaw up and forward. Keeping your tongue obstructing the airway can reduce, if not totally eliminate, snoring.

Constant use of this device can help you develop a new sleeping habit, which is to sleep with closed mouth. Moreover, using this device is not a forever thing. In a month or two, you will have good results on your sleeping habits.

Anti-snoring chin straps has one major disadvantage. It is not aesthetically pleasant. Another problem is that it causes discomfort and can also cause your jaw to displace slightly.

You can purchase anti-snoring chin straps online. Its price ranges from $14- $125, depending on the material used.

Cold Sore Treatment – Lemon Balm Ice

A good cold sore treatment can really be a blessed relief for cold sore victims like you and me.

And, if you're like me, you want a cold sore treatment that will not only give you a lot of comfort right now, but will hopefully shorten the healing time so you can get on with your life. That's the beauty of this well proven cold sore treatment.

I'm always searching for a better cold sore treatment. I have many good friends at Mayo who I've partnered with for research purposes over the past 33 years. But it's important to keep in mind that the following cold sore treatment methods are not presented as medical advice – only as information for your consideration. There is no substitute for a one-on-one relationship with a medical professional.

By far, the most popular cold sore treatment is the application of ice. It slows down metabolism, numbs the area, discourages the virus from replicating, and is readily available. Apply ice for 10 minutes at a time to your cold sores, maybe 3 times an hour, as a very basic cold sore treatment.

With this cold sore treatment, if I could catch the cold sores at the first tingle and apply the ice, it delayed – and sometimes prevented – the cold sores from actually moving into the blister stage. If a blister does form, this cold sore treatment still works great for providing blessed comfort. Because it does slow down metabolism, it also will slow down the healing of your cold sores. Best not to use it as much during the healing phase of your cold sores as a cold sore treatment.

A fishing buddy of mine – a Mayo doctor – while on an outing on the Mississippi, revealed his secret cold sore treatment.

His cold sore treatment involves the use of lemon balm tea.

These tea bags can be found for cheap anywhere you find specialty teas. If the lemon balm is not "stand alone" but in a blend with other herbs, that will usually be just fine too – as long as lemon balm is the primary.

Dr. W. explained that he discovered lemon balm herb has anti-viral properties and is a natural cold sore treatment. He took a 16 – 20 ounce container of bottled water. He then brewed a strong batch of lemon balm tea using one tea bag per 4 ounces – then froze the tea bags – using these in place of the plain ice cold sore treatment.

You get the comforting effect of ice plus, as the tea-bag melts, the application of the anti-viral properties of lemon balm. He stored the tea back in the original bottles for convenience and further cold sore treatment.

Additionally, Dr. W. – to supercharge this cold sore treatment – would sip the lemon balm tea and apply the tea liquid to the cold sores with a cotton ball between lemon balm ice sessions.

If you're the rare person who gets cold sores inside the mouth, you'll find they are very difficult to deal with. This may be exactly the cold sore treatment for you. Use the lemon balm tea as a mouthwash, then swallow for an additional boost. Listerine has worked well as a cold sore treatment, both in the mouth and applied externally, but it stings like crazy.

I also found that freezing the tea and sucking on the lemon balm ice chips is very effective and comforting as an in-the-mouth cold sore treatment.

I tried his cold sore treatment and it worked great for my family too, back when we used to get cold sores frequently. Quite a vast improvement on the old ice method.

This cold sore treatment, using lemon balm frozen tea bags, is a much better choice than plain ice during the healing stages of your cold sores. Although you are slowing metabolism, you are also killing many viruses with this cold sore treatment.

There are many other reported highly effective cold sore treatment methods that you can try. These include tea tree oil, dmso, olive leaf oil, lysine, zinc, yogurt, aloe vera and more. Lysine and zinc do not work well applied directly because the size of their molecules are too large for effective absorption. Lysine and zinc are better used as internal support supplements.

We have tested every over-the-counter cold sore treatment – at least all that we could find. We found they are great for comfort but none of them did anything to actually kill the virus or speed healing.

Keep in mind that the best and most effective cold sore treatment will be topical – directly applied – for any open surface lesion like a cold sore.

I hope you, too, will find this to be an excellent, cheap, and useful cold sore treatment.

Vitamin B12 Deficiency Symptoms

Your body requires very little vitamin b12 or cobalamin and most of us get sufficient quantities of it in our normal meals to satisfy our daily requirements. Although it’s rare to see vitamin b12 deficiency symptoms it can still be useful to be able to recognise them just in case.

You’re most vulnerable to vitamin b12 deficiency if you’ve vegan and don’t use the available dietary supplements containing vitamin b12. Infants breast-feeding from vegan mothers can also be at risk. Vitamin b12 supplements are generally regarded as safe because there are few known adverse effects of overdose.

The main symptom that arises from vitamin b12 deficiency is a type of anemia that causes you to feel tired, weak and lethargic. You might also feel nauseous, constipated and become very flatulent (gas). You may also lose your appetite and suffer weight loss.

More severe cases can give vitamin b12 deficiency symptoms, which include:

  • Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet
  • Insomnia
  • Loss of memory
  • Dizziness
  • Lack of balance
  • Depression
  • Digestive problems
  • Dizziness
  • Liver enlargement
  • Eye problems
  • Headaches
  • Hallucinations
  • Inflamed tongue
  • Breathing difficulties

Vitamin b12 is commonly found in animal products like eggs, dairy, fish, meat and animal organs. B12 is rarely found in vegetables, which is why vegetarians and especially vegans who don’t eat dairy products or meat, are especially at risk. If you fall into this category then you should consider using vitamin supplements containing b12.

It’s also important to realise that the operation of vitamin b12 is dependent on sufficient quantities of other vitamins being present in your body so you should take care to get a balanced diet to avoid vitamin b12 deficiency symptoms.

Your body requires very little vitamin b12 or cobalamin and most of us get sufficient quantities of it in our normal meals to satisfy our daily requirements. Although it’s rare to see vitamin b12 deficiency symptoms it can still be useful to be able to recognise them just in case.

Gallstone Treatment – How To Prevent and Treat Gallstones

Having Gallstones can be very painful and the prospect of having surgery to remove them or have the gallbladder taken out is not a very nice prospect for people.

In this article I will look at what gallstones are and what causes them. I will also look

at who is at risk, ways to help prevent gallstones and gallstone treatment options.

The function of the gallbladder is to store bile. Bile is produced in the liver and then stored in the gallbladder. When we eat, the gallbladder contracts and pushes bile into the small intestine where it aids in breaking down fats.

Bile is made up of water, cholesterol, fats and bile salts. Under certain conditions some of the things that are in bile, especially the cholesterol, can start to harden and this hardening can form stone like structures, hence gallstones.

There are a few risk factors thought to contribute to gallstones:

– Women for instance are 4 times more likely to get gallstones than men. This is because of things such as excess amounts of estrogen from pregnancy, hormone replacement therapy and the use of the birth control pill. These factors tend to increase the levels of cholesterol in bile and makes it more likely to harden and form stones. It also decreases the contractions of the gallbladder, which means the bile in the gallbladder isn’t being used as readily and will sit and become more likely to harden.

– Your diet can put you at risk of gallstones. Diets that are high in fat and cholesterol increase the chances of getting gallstones.

– Other risk factors include being overweight, your genetics and rapid weight loss.

Gallstones can form in two ways: You can either develop one big gallstone, which tends to be very painful and needs treatment, or you can develop lots of tiny little ones, some as small as a grain of sand. A lot of small gallstones can have the same effect as one big one but if you have a few tiny ones

then they can pass out of your body without you knowing that you had them. These are called silent gallstones because they are small and un-noticeable.

If possible it is always better to prevent rather than cure. So looking at the risk factors above, two of the easiest ways in which you can help prevent the formation of gallstones are:

1/ Decrease the amount of fat and cholesterol in your diet.

2/ keep your body weight under control.

If you can do these then it will help prevent gallstones but if you do get them then gallstone treatment usually involves either removing the gallbladder or going through an oral dissolution therapy. This is where you take drugs which are made up of things that are naturally in bile. These drugs are taken to help break down the stones however treatment this way can take months and in some cases years.

Having surgery isn’t always the best option for people and if the other option is a drug programme that could take months this can leave people feeling helpless. Is there a better way to treat gallstones? What if you could treat and get rid of gallstones naturally, how great would that be?

Diabetes Testing Supplies

Diabetes testing supplies are used to monitor and regulate blood glucose levels. Checking blood sugar levels regularly helps diabetics to manage their diabetes effectively. Blood sugar testing becomes easier and convenient with various diabetes testing products available in the market. Moreover, you get the results in less than a minute.

Diabetes Testing Supplies: Options

To manage or detect diabetes, you require diabetes testing supplies, such as diabetic glucose test strips, blood glucose monitors and urinalysis test strips.

  • Diabetic or glucose test strips: These testing products are placed inside a glucose meter to determine the sugar levels in a particular blood sample. You can prick the surface of your finger using a lancet to get a drop of blood. Most lancets allow you to set a particular depth at which the needle penetrates your skin. This depth setup feature prevents damage to important nerves.
  • Blood glucose monitors: Different types of glucose monitors are available, including those with self-enclosed spools of strips called test strip drums and those that require manual insertion of strips. The elderly and children, who have reduced motor skills, can use self-enclosed ones, because these are loaded automatically and do not require user intervention. You should follow the instructions carefully if your monitor requires entering a code whenever you open a new box of strips. You will find the code chip in the strip bottle. If you enter the wrong code or if your monitor is miscoded, you get wrong results. If you are not comfortable with entering the codes, you can opt for monitors that load automatically.
  • Embrace meter: The latest diabetes supplies range is able to provide the most accurate results within six seconds. It can also display an average of your blood glucose levels over a period of time, such as a week, a couple of weeks or a month.

Fibromyalgia Diets

No research has established with surety that a certain food type can affect the condition of those suffering from fibromyalgia either positively or negatively. Yet, it has been observed that a favorable change in the diet can prove to be beneficial for those who suffer from the condition of fibromyalgia. This is probably so because eating a healthy and balanced meal is anyways good for the body.

Eating food that is low on fat and high on antioxidants that strengthen the immune system can prove to be highly beneficial. Certain therapists and researchers think that complete elimination of carbonated beverages, alcohol, chocolates and coffee can help one get prevent the onset of fibromyalgia if not cure it.

A diet must always be accompanied by appropriate exercises. There are some foods, which a dietician advices the patients of fibromyalgia and those who wish to prevent it, to avoid. These items include fried food items, alcoholic beverages, coffee and other drinks that contain caffeine, tobacco in all its forms, saccharine soda and other carbonated drinks, liquids along with meals, white flour and sugar, red meat especially those that are salt cured or smoked, junk food, salt and preservatives. Prolonged exposure to sunlight must also be avoided at all costs.

A number of people have benefited by being loyal to the diet and practicing the exercise accompanying it. The diet primary aims at reducing hyperactivity in people so that they do not complain of stress and fatigue after a short time. The energy levels are restored to normal, rather than the constant highs and lows that were creating an imbalance. Carbonated drinks are especially harmful as they leak phosphorus into the bones, reducing bone density and certain soda drinks are speculated to possibly cause memory loss.

A diet therefore, primarily aids by maintaining a healthy balance within the body thus eliminating the chances of becoming a victim of fibromyalgia easily.

Successfully Golfing After a Stroke for Fun and Fitness

There is no denying stroke survivors have a lot to deal with as they go through the rehabilitation process and learn to live with physical limitations. Unfortunately, far too many people treat having a stroke as a sign they can no longer enjoy physical activities. For stroke survivor’s who love to play golf, those so-called physical limitations aren’t as pronounced as one would imagine.

Playing Golf Again is a Real Possibility

Except in the worst of cases, the only thing that keeps most stroke survivors from getting back onto the golf course is the assumption they can’t do it. That assumption is wrong in so many ways. Will their golf game be as proficient as it was before the stroke? Probably not, but everything in life changes after medical trauma. The reality is golf courses aren’t going anywhere and any golfer who wants to golf belongs on the golf course. That includes stoke victims who love the game.

It only takes three things to make it happen. First, the person affected by the stroke has to believe they can do it. Second, they need to accept certain limitations and learn to play within themselves. Finally, the stroke victim needs to minimize expectations and maximize the joy that comes from being out on a golf course instead of laying in a bed feeling disabled.

The Benefits of Golfing for Stroke Survivors

The benefits of being able to return to the golf course will touch almost every aspect of the stroke survivor’s being. From a physical standpoint, they get the health benefits of fresh air and exercise. Doctor’s often encourage stroke victims to exercise their muscles and get the heart beating again. The walking and swinging of a club help to move all the right muscles and bring balance and coordination back.

As far as mental and emotional issues are concerned, there is nothing that revitalizes the spirit and soul more than overcoming impossible odds to achieve something important. If a golfer loves to golf, then learning to do it again under a different set of circumstances is an accomplishment that should bring a great sense of pride to a disabled golfer. In many cases, depression is actually a bigger threat to one’s well-being than another stroke. By going out there on the golf course and proving they are still a player, the afflicted individual won’t feel so afflicted anymore.

Finally, there is great value is participating in a social activity for a stroke survivor who has been hospitalized and/or confined to the home for a period of time. The chance to get out among friends and golfing buddies serves to make the person feel they are still a part of life here on this planet.

Exercises Designed to Make Golfing Easier for the Stroke Victim

While contemplating that first post-stroke round of golf, there are several exercises that can help reestablish stamina, balance and coordination. Walking is a must. Even cart riders will log distance during a round of golf. By getting out each day for a walk, it will improve endurance on the golf course. For balance and coordination, doctors recommend sitting on a stability ball but for those affected by stroke, a physical therapist should be close by unless one has progressed. By doing this exercise for just a few minutes everyday, one’s balance and ability to control their arms and legs will show marked improvement over time. A more sensible exercise at home would involve use of a chair. While the person affected by the stroke stands in a corner of a room, they hold on the back of the chair and practice moving hips forward and back and from side to side. This is also beneficial for strengthening the weakened side. If the survivor also has dropfoot which many stroke victims experience, a brace recommended by the persons doctor for safety. It can help immensely as even if a cart is used, as the walking can tire out the weakened leg quickly at times.

Making Golf Easier for Stroke Survivors

The golfing world is well-aware that some stroke victims love the game of golf. With that in mind, there are plenty of custom equipment designers who are more than happy to help design golf equipment that compliments a golfer’s disabilities. Another way golf is made easier for stroke victims is the process of making them feel normal. Disabled golfers are often reluctant to play golf with healthy people for fear of slowing the group down. First of all, golf is a game of courtesy and golfers tend to be very patient with those who might not be as skilled as the others in the group. That said, there are many golf courses that sponsor groups that have disabilities. By playing golf with other disabled golfers, the individual doesn’t feel it necessary to perform, only to enjoy the outing.

Golf is a great sport and activity. If you or someone you know has suffered a stroke and would still love to hit the links, by all means make it happen. With reasonable expectations, that first round of golf will feel like a rebirth of sorts, prompting the stroke victim to stop feeling like a victim and more as a winning survivor.
