How to Know if it is Nail Fungus or Something Else

You cannot get your eyes off your fingernails and toenails when you notice something different with them. You browsed the Internet and from the information you gathered, it seems you have nail fungus.

You must remember that there are a lot of problems which may happen to your nails. To know if it is just poorly done manicure or really fungal infection, you have to ask yourself some questions and inspect your nails carefully.

Nail Fungus

It is not nail fungus at all if you don’t walk barefoot in the public pool or gym shower or you’re not exposed to warm and humid working environment frequently and you don’t share shoes, nail files and nail cutters with other people.

Onychomycosis or nail fungus first manifests itself as a yellowish or white spot on the nail. As the nail fungus develops, the infected nail will break, thicken, be crumbly, lack luster and be discolored or deformed. The surrounding tissue or skin may also be inflamed. Nail fungus infection may be very painful in the long run, and like athlete’s foot it may emit a very foul odor. Scaling of the sides of the toenails may occur.

The toenails are more prone to nail fungus since it is often inside the shoes, which present a warm and moist environment that perfect for fungal growth.

Distribution of the problem has a pattern. Nail fungus often affect only one hand at a time. However, in the case of feet, it is more often that both will have nail fungus at the same time.

If the symptoms mentioned are not present, most likely it is not nail fungus but another condition.

Signs and Symptoms of Other Nail Conditions

There are other symptoms that will also make you stare at your nails. These are, however, not symptoms of nail fungus:

Ridges and Lines – There is nothing to worry. Appearances of these are part of the normal aging process.

Yellowish or Whitish Nails – This is due to onycholysis or the occurrence of gap between the nail and the nail bed. The normal pinkish color will return after several months.

Green Nails – No, you have not turned into a monster but pseudomonas may have accumulated in the gap in between your nail and nail bed. The greenish shade disappears in around two months.

Black or Red Nails – There is bruising on the nail bed, which is most likely due to trauma. Like any other hematoma, it will repair itself after a few days.

Inflammation of the skin around the nail – This may be caused by yeast that infects the cuticle. There are topical creams that can cure these yeast infections.

To be certain about the symptoms and signs that you notice on your nails, it is best to be diagnosed by a medical doctor.

A proper diagnosis will result in a proper treatment plan. Pain, inflammation and infection can be addressed properly. The treatment regimen for nail fungus or any other nail infection must be followed religiously since these diseases tend to recur.

Medicines for these different conditions can be sourced from your local drugstores or online stores.

Common Home Remedy for Toenail Fungus

Nail fungal infection is a common problem of the nails and toenails are affected more often than finger nails. There are different treatments and medications to get rid of nail fungus. Home remedy for toenail fungus is another option if you want to treat the infection naturally.

One popular home remedy for toenail fungus is vinegar. The acidic properties of vinegar make it hard for the fungus to survive and grow. This kind of treatment has been around for ages and still in existence today because some people find it effective. Soaking the infected nails on a mixture of warm water and vinegar (apple cider vinegar) twice daily until the symptoms disappear is a simple remedy that anyone can do at home.

Another home remedy for toenail fungus is tea tree oil. This oil extract from a medicinal tree called Melaleuca alternifolia, has antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties that relieves nail fungal infection. The oil can be applied directly on the affected area or can be mixed with water if you want to soak the affected area. This is only used as an external application because tea tree oil is toxic when swallowed.

Listerine mouthwash is another home remedy for toenail fungus that some people find effective. Although this product is a remedy for bad breath or gingivitis, some people claims that the antiseptic property of the product can kill nail fungus when applied on the affected area. Although it is not classified as fungal infection treatment, it is considered an alternative or home remedy for toenail fungus due to its effectiveness to some people.

Of course it is best to consult your doctor if you have any kind of infection and health concern. Home remedies are inexpensive alternative treatments. Treating nail fungal infection with natural treatment is another option to get rid of fungal infection without the side effects of drugs. Treatment of an Ankle Sprain

How is an ankle sprain diagnosed? First your doctor will get a complete history of the injury in detail. For example he will ask you when and how the ankle sprain occurred and ask about any prior injuries. Next, your doctor will examine your foot, ankle, and lower leg and even your knee to see if additional injury occurred. He or she may ask you to move your foot up and down and to take a few steps if possible. Your doctor will then carefully try moving your foot and ankle to see if the ligaments are intact. You will need X-rays to evaluate the ankle. X-rays can help find out whether you have any ligament tears, broken bones, or bones that have moved out of their normal positions. X-rays should always be taken for children because of potential injury to the bone’s growth plate and possible disruption of normal growth. Sometimes X-rays of both ankles are necessary in order to compare the injured ankle with the one that is healthy.

How is an ankle Sprain treated?

Most ankle sprains need only a period of protection to heal. The healing process takes about four weeks to six weeks.

Early Treatments:

Rest: first 24-48 hours after the injury is considered a critical treatment period and activities need to be curtailed. You may need to use crutches if walking causes pain. Also use of a device to immobilize or splint the ankle (such as a ankle brace or walking boot) may be necessary. ICE: For the first 48 hours post-injury, ice pack and elevate the ankle sprain 20 minutes at a time every 3-4 hours. Do NOT ice a ankle sprain for more than 20 minutes at a time!! You will not be helping heal the ankle sprain any faster, and you can cause damage to the tissues! Compression: Use compression when elevating the ankle sprain in early treatment. Using an Ace bandage, wrap the ankle from the toes all the way up to the top of the calf muscle, overlapping the elastic wrap by one-half of the width of the wrap. The wrap should be snug, but not cutting off circulation to the foot and ankle. So, if your foot becomes cold, blue, or falls asleep, re-wrap! Elevation: Keep your ankle sprain higher than your heart as often as possible

More severe ankle sprain injuries, including complete tears of the ligaments and fractures of the bone may need different treatments and rehabilitation than a simple ankle sprain. Things such as balance exercises, range of motion exercises and ultrasound and electrical stimulation may also be used. Medication Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as Motrin) may be used to control pain and inflammation

When is Surgery Needed? In more severe cases or injuries that fail to respond to nonsurgical treatment, surgery may be required to adequately treat an ankle sprain. Surgery often involves repairing the damaged ligament or ligaments. The foot and ankle surgeon will select the surgical procedure best suited for your case based on the type and severity of your injury as well as your activity level.

If an ankle sprain is not recognized, and is not treated with the necessary attention and care, chronic problems of pain and instability may result.

Easy Ways to Heal Cuts and Bruises Faster

We all get cuts and bruises occasionally.  And, if you have kids, you see cuts and bruises fairly often.  What can you do to make these cuts and bruise heal faster?  We have a few suggestions to offer.

  • Cleaning – The first thing you should do is clean the wound gently, but thoroughly.  Gently wash the injury with plain soap and water.  Rinse it well to remove any debris, dirt and injured tissue.
  • Killing germs.  After cleaning the injured area, apply an over-the-counter antibiotic ointment, such a Bacitracin or Neosporin.  Apply the ointment twice a day to help prevent any infection.
  • Cover the wound.  Old-school thinking said that you should expose a cut to the air so it can breathe.  But, in fact, the dry, hard scabs that form over an injured site take longer to heal.  Instead, you should cover  the wound with a bandage to keep the cut moist.  This will allow a soft scab to form quickly.
  • Treating bruises.  You can cut the healing time for bruises in half if you rub it with topical vitamin-K ointment which can be found in drug and health food stores.
  • Treating scabs.  Scabs should be treated with TLC.  A healthy, soft scab will protect delicate new skin cells.  You should avoid bumping or hitting the wiounded area and never remove a scab–let it fall off naturally.
  • Speed healing.  Arnica is a homeopathic remedy that is sold in health food stores.  Studies have proven that arnica helps cuts, bruises and even surgical scars to heal faster.
  • Take Vitamin C.  According to some recent studies, Vitamin C can help damaged blood vessels that cause bruising to heal faster.  The recommended dosage is 1,000 mg. to 3,000 mg. per day–divided up into two to three doses.

Recommended Diets for Peptic Ulcer Patients

Peptic ulcer affects the stomach and the duodenum, giving symptoms like burning and pain in the upper abdomen frequently after one or two hours after eating was done. This discomfort is relieved after taking antacid drugs and food.

Keeping a diet is very important in treating ulcer. A few years ago it was thought that food can cause ulcer but now it has been proven that certain aliments can only aggravate the symptoms of ulcer and delay healing.

Some tips you must follow in order to prevent or heal faster the ulcer are:

1. Try to avoid the following aliments because they only injure your stomach line: pepper, chilly, peppermint, citrus fruits, cocoa, chocolate, cola, and fried fatty foods. This list can be adjusted according to your tolerances but the doctors should be consulted about it too.
2. When eating try to eat slowly, chewing well the aliments in a non-stressful atmosphere.
3. Try to take your meals two hours before bedtime.
4. If you smoke, you should quit because smoking only delays ulcer healing.
5. Pay attention to the foods that cause you pain and burnings and try not to eat them any more.
6. If you caught a cold do not use aspirin because the substances it contains are harmful to your stomach and will delay ulcer healing.
7. Do not skip taking the drugs the doctor recommended: antacids, antibiotics.

Here is a scheme of a diet you can follow, approved by the National Research Council’s Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA):

At breakfast, eat one toast with margarine and jelly; drink half a cup of apple juice, skim milk-one cup; you are allowed one teaspoon of sugar and a quarter of a teaspoon of salt.

At lunch, you can have a cream of potato soup with broiled chicken patty and tossed salad, one teaspoon of mustard, and a quarter of salt. If you want you can have peaches after.

At dinner: baked fish with mashed potatoes and one slice of bread; half a cup of apricot nectar and vanilla pudding. Margarine is admitted in one teaspoon.

This type of diet can also be followed by those who suffer of non-ulcer dyspepsia. This affection is similar to the peptic ulcer but the differences are that non-ulcer dyspepsia does not give an ulcer, a lesion on the stomach or duodenum; it only gives the same symptoms as peptic ulcer.

Raw Food Diet – How it Affects a Person’s Fertility With YANG Constitution in TCM Perspective

I. Introduction
A. What is a typical American raw food diet
The raw food diet is defined as a type of diet of which at least 75% of the daily diet must be unprocessed and uncooked foods or foods can not be heating above 115 degree of Fahrenheit or 40 C, including fresh fruit and vegetables and raw meats. A typical American raw food diet contains mostly yin and dampness pathogen, including mostly raw fruits, vegetables and nuts and seeds.

B. What is a person with yang constitution
According to traditional Chinese medicine, yang constitution is genetic passing through pattern which you inherited from either one of your parent. It represents in the deep layer in your body. A person with yang constitution tend to have
1. Red tongue
2. Red face
3. Constipation
4. Dense menstrual flow
5. Nightmare
6. Prefer cooler drink.
7. Etc

II. How raw foods affect fertility
A person with yang constitution may initially benefit from raw foods diet. Since the body is slightly yang excessive, raw foods help to reduce the yang, thus balancing the yin and yang imbalance. But over a prolong period of raw foods intake, it will cause yang qi imbalance, although, it is not severe than a person with yin constitution.

1. Spleen
Spleen is considered as an organ in aiding the digestive system in absorbing vital nutrients and convert them to energy for the body’s need. Although person with yang constitution may take longer and symptoms may not be as severe as a person with yin constitution, but over a prolong period of time in taking raw food diet, it causes dysfunction of spleen in foods digestion, leading to nutrients deficiency of which triggers the primitive brain function in diverting blood aways from the reproductive organ for energy conversation.

2. Liver
According to traditional Chinese medicine, people with yang constitution can benefit from taking a large amount of raw foods everyday to balance the excessive yang constitution in the body. But unfortunately, prolong period of raw diet deplete the yang constitution, leading to yang deficiency. While spleen is damaged due to prolong intake of raw foods, it interferes with liver function in blood transformation, leading to insufficient blood that required to support our body’ daily activity, causing irregular menstruation and weakening the reproductive organs in perform their function in conception depending how much raw food intake.

3. Blood deficiency
As liver is no longer function as it should be, caused by spleen abnormal function in absorbing nutrients to nourish the production of blood, leading to blood deficiency that triggers the brain primitive reaction from diverting the blood away from the reproductive organs, leading to irregular menstruation. in severe case, it causes absence of period, affecting fertility in women and reducing the sperm quality and quantity in men.

4. Blood and qi stagnation
Since raw foods are considered as dampness pathogen, it impairs the spleen function in controlling the interior damp-cold, resulting in qi and blood stagnation, leading to delay menstruation and menstrual pain and cramps.

5. Kidney Yang deficiency
Kidney is considered as an organ helping to moisten, nourish the organs and tissues. Prolong intake of raw foods may decrease the yang qi in the kidney, leading to symptoms of fluid retention, that interferes with function of lung in absorbing enough oxygen for our body, causing nervous tension such as fatigue, tiredness and loss of memory and reducing the production of progesterone and testosterone, leading to lower sperm count in men and abnormal in the yang phrase in women menstrual cycle.

Endometrial Polyp: A Closer Look into It

Endometrial polyps are also called uterine polyps. These are small growths that grow very slowly in the lining of the uterus. They have a large flat base and they are attached to the uterus through an elongated pedicle. They can be round or oval in shape and they are usually red in color. Large ones appear to be a darker shade of red. A woman can have one or many endometrial polyps, and they sometimes protrude through the vagina causing cramps and discomfort. They can cause cramps because they impinge the opening of the cervix. These polyps can become infected if they are twisted and lose all their blood supply. There are rare instances when these polyps become cancerous.  Women who have them find it difficult at times to get pregnant.

The Symptoms

There are no definitive causes of endometrial polyps, but their growth can be affected by hormone levels, especially estrogen. Often there are no symptoms, but some identifiable symptoms can be related to its formation.

* A gap between menstrual bleeding

* Irregular or prolonged menstrual bleeding

* Excessively heavy menstrual bleeding

* Pain or dysmenorrhea (pain with menses)

Diagnosis and Treatment

Endometrial polyps can be detected through Dilation and Curettage (D&C), CT scan, MRI, ultrasound or hysteroscopy. Hysteroscopy is a procedure where a small scope is inserted through the cervix into the uterine cavity to look for polyps or other uterine abnormalities. Endometrial polyps can be removed and treated through surgery using curettage or hysterectomy. If curettage is performed, polyps may be missed but to reduce this risk, the uterus is usually explored by hysteroscopy at the beginning of the surgical process. A large polyp can be cut into sections before being fully removed. If the polyps are discovered to be cancerous, a hysterectomy should be performed.  There is a high probability of recurrence of polyps even with the above treatments.

Complications and Risk Factors

Endometrial polyps are usually benign cells. They can either be precancerous or cancerous. Approximately 0.5 percent of endometrial polyps contain adenocarcinoma cells. These cells will eventually develop into a cancer. Polyps can increase the risk of miscarriage in women who undergo in vitro fertilization treatment. If they develop near the fallopian tubes, they can be a cause of having difficulty in becoming pregnant.

Uterine polyps usually occur in women in their 40s and 50s. Women who have high risk factors are those who are obese, have high blood pressure. and have history of cervical polyps in their family.

Taking in tamoxifen or hormone replacement therapy can increase the risk factors of endometrial polyps. Women who use the hormonal Intra Uterine Device that has high levels of levonorgestrel can reduce the incidence of polyps. One of every ten women can have endometrial polyps, and it is estimated that about 25 percent of those who have abnormal vaginal bleeding have endometrial polyps.

Uterine Fibroids: Are They Cancerous Or Life Threatening?

WHAT ARE UTERINE FIBROIDS?

Uterine fibroids are benign tumors. In simple words uterine fibroids are non-cancerous muscle tumors. Uterine fibroids are not at al related to cancer.

UTERINE FIBROIDS LOCATION

Uterine cancers attack the main reproductive organ – the uterus. Uterine fibroids remain attached to the uterus wall. Uterine fibroids can also develop within the uterine wall. Uterine fibroids are also known as Myoma, Fibromyoma, and Leiomyoma.

UNDERSTANDING CELLS, TISSUES, ORGANS AND TUMORS

Cells are the basic units of our lives. New cells are born when the old ones die out. These new-born normal cells divide and grow to form tissues. Tissues of the same kind combine to form our organs.
Mentionably, our bodies need a constant refurbishment of such new cells. But at times this automatic process (of cells taking birth as some die) gets a jolt. During such crucial junctures, the tumors take control of certain parts of our bodies.
Therefore, tumors are mass of extra tissue cells. They appear as abnormal growth mass of the cells.

TUMORS: BENIGN & MALIGNANT

First and foremost, benign tumors are not cancerous and are not life threatening.
Second, malignant or cancerous tumors are life-threatening.
Third, benign tumors can be easily removed by the surgeon.
Fourth, the benign tumors do not spread to other parts of the body. Malignant tumors do.
Fifth, benign tumors rarely reform once they are removed. But malignant tumors can return.

BENIGN CONDITIONS OF THE UTERUS

The benign conditions of the uterus are fibroids, Endometriosis and Endometrial hyperplasia.

Fibroids: The uterine fibroids are uncannily common. They grow in the uterine muscles. They occur mainly in women between their forties and fifties. Many fibroids may appear simultaneously. Fibroids never degenerate into cancer. The fibroids become smaller and disappear after a woman reaches menopause.
Hence no treatment is required for fibroids. Fibroids can stay within the body without symptoms. However, fibroids can lead to frequent urination, excessive vaginal discharge, and bleeding. Such complications appear if the uterine fibroids appear near any organs. Doctors advice is must for any patient suffering from such symptoms.
Mentionably, the patients suffering from uterine fibroids are asked to go for surgeries if the fibroids put pressure on the important organs. Surgeries are suggested if the uterine fibroids can be painful.

Endometriosis: Endometriosis is another benign state affecting the uterus. Mostly women in their forties and especially those who were never pregnant are affected by this benign tumor. Endometriosis develops when the endometrial tissue grows outside the uterus and spreads on to the organs nearby. Endometriosis can cause excessive bleeding from the vagina, painful menstrual periods, and infertility (ability to get pregnant). The fact is that Endometriosis cannot be cancerous. Endometriosis is generally treated with surgery or hormones.

Endometrial hyperplasia: Endometrial hyperplasia takes place when cells increase in numbers in the uterine linings. It is another form of benign tumor. But, at times, endometrial hyperplasia can become cancerous. The symptoms of endometrial hyperplasia are bleeding in the post-menopause phase, bleeding between two successive menstruations and heavy periods. Women beyond 40 years of age are affected by endometrial hyperplasia. As preventive measures, the patients are advised to go for either progesterone (hormonal treatment) or hysterectomy (uterus removal). Periodical follow-up tests are also necessary after any of these procedures to obviate the possibility of this benign tumor turning cancerous.
As opposed to these three forms of benign tumors, the malignant tumors are cancerous. Hence malignant tumors are dangerous and pose threats to life. Malignant tumors even penetrate into the lymphatic system or the bloodstream. These malignant tumors not only spread (metastasize) very fast to other organs but also permanently harm the vital organs.

UTERINE FIBROID SYMPTOMS

The uterine fibroids are benign (non-cancerous) tumors and quite common. Uterine fibroids can leave diverse effects on the patients. The woman having uterine fibroids can feel long durations of pelvic pressure at times accompanied by pain. Uterine fibroids may also lead to infertility or miscarriage. Moreover, uterine fibroids can cause heavy menstruation (periods).

WHEN DO UTERINE FIBROIDS DEVELOP?

One woman out of every four is susceptible to uterine fibroids. Uterine fibroids appear between the post-puberty productivity stage and the pre-menopausal phase. The vulnerable age-group period is from 30 to 50 years. Notably, women below 20 years do not suffer from uterine fibroids.

THE BEST WAY TO TACKLE UTERINE FIBROIDS

Tackle the uterine fibroids in the easiest way: Don’t take estrogen after menopause. The uterine fibroids will shrink by themselves.

THE MOST VULNERABLE SECTION

Studies have found that that the section most vulnerable to uterine fibroids are the African-American womenfolk.

DIAGNOSING UTERINE FIBROIDS

Any health care provider can diagnose uterine fibroids through a simple routine checkup. To confirm the presence of uterine fibroids, the patients may have to go for ultrasound test.

Hepatitis C Symptoms, Know About Hepatitis C Causes

Hepatitis C is a type of disease that is caused by the hepatitis C virus. According to studies in the United States, there are approximately 36,000 persons who are infected by this disease each year. Although this is a milder condition compared to any other type of hepatitis, still it can lead to chronic liver disease if left untreated. Approximately 4 million people are said to be chronic HCV carriers.

Unlike the other types of hepatitis, hepatitis C has no specific treatments for its symptoms. But your doctor can recommend you to have bed rest drink plenty of fluids. Not only that, a healthy diet and avoidance of alcoholic beverages will also be best for you. If you are experiencing only mild hepatitis C, after following the advice of your doctor, you will begin to feel better in two to three weeks and may completely recover from the symptoms within four to eight weeks.

Nowadays, hepatitis C has become a very serious threat worldwide. In some countries, like the United States Of America, at the top of the causes that lead to liver damage is hepatitis C. The hepatitis C virus is very spread and many Americans are victims. The hepatitis C virus is also the reason for about twenty percent of the acute hepatitis and more than fifty percent of the cirrhosis cases are believed to be caused by the hepatitis C virus.

Hepatitis A, B and C are familiar names to most people, but there are other ways to get hepatitis. Ethanol, which is found in alcoholic drinks, can cause hepatitis. Alcoholic hepatitis can be mild or severe. People who drink alcohol in excess may also increase their chances of getting hepatitis C. Alcoholic hepatitis does not lead to cirrhosis, but cirrhosis is more common in people, who’ve been drinking alcohol for a long period of time.

Several years ago, the most common way that hepatitis C was transferred to other patients was thought to be by tainted blood used in transfusions, but nowadays the blood testing procedures have improved considerably, and the risk is now very small. These days the highest risk group is illegal drug users. The sharing of any equipment or appliance which has any blood or bodily fluids on it when taking drugs is a simple way of transferring this disease.

Hepatitis C is usually spread by contact to human blood that has been contaminated with the hepatitis C virus. There is an astonishing number of people that are infected with the hepatitis C virus because of injection of drugs. People who have transfusions of blood are also at risk of infection with the hepatitis C virus. However, the risk is lowered now, because of a test that requires that the blood used for transfusions must be tested for the hepatitis C virus.

There is no vaccine that can help you prevent the infection with hepatitis C virus. So all one can do to prevent hepatitis C is to avoid all the risk factors. If the hepatitis C virus is contacted, your body will try to fight it. However, the hepatitis virus can mutate and evade your immune system. As many as 80 percent of the people that are infected with the hepatitis C virus will not be able to destroy it completely.

Liver Cirrhosis Complications, Symptoms, And Treatments

Cirrhosis is the liver disorder that is characterized by the damage to the liver tissues. The occurrence of the cirrhosis is being noted to be occurring more in the people who drink alcohol a lot. As healthy tissue is replaced with scar tissue, the liver loses its ability to perform its functions, which include detoxifying the blood, storing vitamins and minerals, manufacturing blood clotting substances, and producing bile. A primary result of the condition is that the body becomes poisoned with blood toxins that the liver would usually eliminate. These toxins can have adverse effects on the entire body, including the rain.

Complication Caused Due to Liver Cirrhosis

Chronic hepatitis C, chronic hepatitis B and D, autoimmune hepatitis, drugs, toxins, and infections are found to cause liver cirrhosis. Sometimes the occurrence of the liver cirrhosis is being linked to the hereditary. Due to the liver cirrhosis the other complications like jaundice, Hepatic encephalopathy, liver cancer, gallstones, bruising and bleeding, and splenomegaly. Liver cirrhosis can be fatal if the care is not taken at the preliminary stage.

Signs and Symptoms of Liver Cirrhosis

Cirrhosis typically does some amount of damage before any symptoms manifest. Early symptoms include Nausea, Loss of appetite, Fatigue, or Diarrhea. Standard treatments revolve around stopping or slowing the progress of the disease as early as possible, or easing the effects of advanced damage. Potential complications of advancing cirrhosis include excess fluid in your torso or legs, infection, increased levels of blood toxins, and increased potential for liver cancer. Your doctor can help you manage these effects, or others should they arise. The line of last resort for advanced cirrhosis is liver transplant.

If you notice any of these symptoms of liver cirrhosis, then please consult the doctor before the problems gets more serious and incurable.

Treatments of Liver Cirrhosis

Chronic Hepatic impairment usually occurs in the context of cirrhosis. In a chronic liver failure, impairment of health can be very gradual until a dramatic event, such as bleeding varies (large, tortuous veins), occurs. Treatment depends on the cause and clinical manifestations. Consumption of protein is carefully controlled. Low Sodium consumption is kept to help keep from the accumulation of ascetic fluid in the abdomen. The best way to prevent liver failure is to reduce the risk of developing cirrhosis or hepatitis. Eat a healthy diet from all food groups. Do not share any personal toiletry items, including toothbrushes and razors.

Here is a list of treatments and procedures that are commonly used to treat Cirrhosis:

  • Liver Transplant
  • Low-sodium diet
  • Iron supplements
  • Increase the Vitamin C intake, this will allow all the impurities to get washed out of the liver.
  • Vitamin K supplements
  • Avoid alcohol
  • Balanced diet and specifically low with the sodium
  • Vitamin B Supplements intake is also useful to prevent the damaging of the cells in the liver.
  • Medications, antibiotics for antibacterial infection and antiviral drugs to treat viral infections
  • Daily exercise routine can also help to prevent liver cirrhosis
  • Drinking of the fruit juices like pineapple helps to prevent the damage caused by the liver cirrhosis.

How to Pass Kidney Stones Quickly – 3 Tips to End the Suffering Today!

Are you looking for tips on how to pass kidney stones quickly? If you are suffering from kidney stones, then you know exactly how painful they can be. The only thing on your mind is to get rid of that stone so that your discomfort will come to an end. The three tips discussed in this article will really reduce the time you have to suffer from the pain by accelerating the time it takes to pass your stone. It is not uncommon to pass your stone in under 24 hours if you carefully follow these tips!

The first tip to help you pass your kidney stones quickly is to drink lots of distilled water.  Drinking a lot of distilled water will allow you to urinate more regularly giving you a higher chance of flushing the kidney stone out.  It is extremely important that the water is distilled. The reason is because stones are composed of different elements and minerals such as calcium, oxalate, phosphate, magnesium, uric acid, etc.  Regular water can contain metals and impurities which can actually help the kidney stone grow larger and only aggravate the problem.

The second tip to help pass your stones quickly is to get some exercise.  This may sound ridiculous, especially if you are in a lot of pain.  However, lying down in bed all day really does nothing to help you pass your kidney stone.  The idea behind exercising is to get your body moving so that the stone can start moving down your urinary system a lot faster.  If the pain is too much, just tone down the level of exercise.

The last and highly recommended tip is to consume a natural home remedy made specially to help pass your stone.  There are a number of safe, natural home remedies out there that can really help cut down the time to pass a stone.  Some remedies are more effective than others.  They usually involve mixing ingredients that you can find at your local grocery store.  The idea behind a home remedy is that by consuming it, you can breakdown or dissolve the kidney stone making it easier to pass through your urine.  For more information on a proven and highly effective home remedy be sure to visit the site below.

Dog Will Return to His Vomit

How gross and revolting, but it is from the Bible teaching us the importance of standing firm in our commitment to the Lord. Let’s look at these verses on the subject.

2 Peter 2:20-21

“If they have escaped the corruption of this world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then turned their backs.” In another verse turning your back on the Lord after knowing His mercy is likened to a dog returning to his vomit.

There are several lessons in these verses we need to look at. First, we are told when a person is cleansed from their sins, the demon within was pushed out and his house was swept and put in order. However, the demon does not like this and will try to come back with seven other demons to the place he was driven from. So it is very important to stay on guard and close to the Lord who promises to keep us safe.

However, these demons are probably not the monsters you see in the movies hiding in the closet ready to jump out and attack you. Most commonly they are the desires that are within you, still apart of your sinful nature you have not yet surrendered to the Lord. Our journey of maturing faith, for most of us, is a life long process of gradually turning over parts of our life to Christ so He can fill us with the fruits of the Spirit. As a Christian, you are not automatically immune to the pressures of sin that is all around us and as we well know, it is easy to fall to these temptations. It is only through our ever-increasing faith, knowing that the Lord has a better way for us, are we able to live more like Christ.

Secondly, if you look at these verses, it makes two references to being worse off at the end than when they started. It goes on to say, they would have been better off never knowing righteousness. For thousands of years, people have spent their entire lives studying the Bible and there are parts that are still a mystery. The reason for this is because the Lord chose to keep parts of it hidden until we are ready for it. If we knew everything all at once, it would just be too over whelming. So once we know God’s forgiving grace, we are to stay vigilant and stand firm in our commitment to Him.

Thirdly this shows the love of the Lord as He looks over His flock. As Christians we understand the Lord will most certainly judge us, but not all by the same standard. A new Christian will not be expected to have the same measure of faith as that of a mature Christian. We will be judged by the content of our hearts and not just on the fruit we produce. Everyone is in a different place on the path of maturing faith and it is wonderful to know our Lord takes that into account. Only He knows our intentions and our desire to obey His commandments. However the bottom line is, once we know and understand what the Bible teaches us, we are to follow it.

Salmonella – Symptoms and Causes of Salmonella

Salmonella is a bacterium that causes one of the most common enteric (intestinal) infections in the United States – Salmonellosis. In some states (e.g. Georgia, Maryland), salmonellosis is the most commonly reported cause of enteric disease, and overall it is the second most common bacterial foodborne illness reported (usually slightly less frequent than Campylobacter infection).
Salmonella bacteria cause much of the food poisoning in the world, including an estimated four million cases of salmonellosis in the United States each year. In Illinois about 1,500 to 2,500 cases of this foodborne illness are reported each year.

Salmonella is a general name for a group of about 2,000 closely related bacteria that cause illness by reproducing in the digestive tract. Each salmonella subgroup, or serotype, shares common antigens and has its own name.
Salmonella is one of the most common causes of food poisoning. The CDC estimates 40,000 people a year are infected with salmonella, with 600 deaths annually. In recent years, the number affected with salmonella has been decreasing.

Salmonella is a genus of bacteria that are a major cause of foodborne illness throughout the world. The bacteria are generally transmitted to humans through consumption of contaminated food of animal origin, mainly meat, poultry, eggs and milk.

Symptoms of Salmonella

Symptoms of most salmonella infections usually appear within 3 days of contamination and typically go away without any medical treatment.
Typhoid fever is a systemic disease caused by Salmonella typhi. Symptoms are high fever, prostration, abdominal pain, and a rose-colored rash. Diagnosis is clinical and confirmed by culture. Treatment is with ceftriaxone or ciprofloxacin.
Diarrhea is an increase in the frequency of bowel movements or a decrease in the form of stool (greater looseness of stool). Although changes in frequency of bowel movements and looseness of stools can vary independently of each other, changes usually occur in both.

Symptoms of Salmonella gastroenteritis include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, fever, nausea, and/or vomiting. In mild cases diarrhea may be non-bloody, occur several times per day, and not be very voluminous; in severe cases it may be frequent, bloody and/or mucoid, and of high volume.
Vomiting is common. Almost all children will vomit several times during their childhood. In most cases, it is due to a Salmonella infection.
Bacteremia. This condition results when salmonella bacteria enter and circulate throughout your bloodstream. Infants and people with compromised immune systems are at special risk of developing serious complications, including infection of tissues surrounding the brain and spinal cord (meningitis) and infection within the bloodstream (sepsis). People with salmonella-induced bacteremia may show few symptoms; however, fever can be present.

Causes of Salmonella

Most commonly, Salmonella causes gastroenteritis with cramping, diarrhea, abdominal tenderness, vomiting, and fever. The diarrhea is usually watery, but may contain blood or mucus.
Salmonella enterocolitis is one of the most common types of food poisoning. It occurs when you swallow food or water that is contaminated with the salmonella bacteria. Any food can become contaminated during preparation if conditions and equipment for food preparation are unsanitary.
Having close contact with other infected people or animals — especially their feces — allowing bacteria to be transmitted from your hands to your mouth
The salmonella bacteria attacks the stomach and intestines. In more serious cases, the bacteria may enter the lymph tracts, which carry water and protein to the blood, and the blood itself. The bacteria attack all age groups and both sexes. Children, the elderly and people who are already ill are much more likely to get a serious infection.
