Your doctor may also order several sputum and blood tests to be done while you are being treated for tuberculosis. (Sputum is phlegm coughed up from deep inside the lungs.) These tests can be done by the nurse or at a clinic.

If tests show that you have TB infection but not active disease, your doctor may recommend preventive drug therapy to destroy dormant bacteria that might become active in the future. In that case, you’re likely to receive a daily dose of the TB medication ionized (INH). For treatment to be effective, you usually take INH for six to nine months. Long-term use can cause side effects, including the life-threatening liver disease hepatitis. For that reason, your doctor will monitor you closely while you’re taking INH. During treatment, avoid using acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) and avoid or limit alcohol use. Both greatly increase your risk of liver damage.

The beginning phase of treatment is crucial for preventing the emergence of drug resistance and ensuring a good outcome. Six months is the minimum acceptable duration of treatment for all adults and children with culture-positive TB.Drug resistance may be either primary or acquired. Primary resistance occurs in patients who have had no previous antimycobacterial treatment. Acquired resistance occurs in patients who have been treated in the past, and it is usually is a result of non-adherence to the recommended regimen or incorrect prescribing.

Alcohol can increase drug side effects and toxicity because both can affect the liver. Avoid drinking alcohol while on tuberculosis treatment.

Indian gooseberry (amla) has proved beneficial in treating Tuberculosis. Mix 1 tbsp each of amla juice and honey and consume it every morning.

Regular use of cooked bottle gourd helps in developing immunity against tuberculosis germs. A teaspoon of mint juice, mixed with two teaspoons of pure malt vinegar, an equal quantity of honey, and about 120 ml carrot juice should be given thrice daily in the treatment of tuberculosis.

The pulp of two custard apples and twenty five seedless raisins should be boiled in water till about one-third of water is left. it should be filtered and mixed with two teaspoons of powdered sugar candy and a quarter teaspoon each of the powder of cardamom and cinnamon.

Urtica dioica, commonly called nettle, nettles, or stinging nettle, is often regarded as a noxious weed. Urtica comes from the latin urere, meaning “to burn,” and is the source of the medical term urticaria. Direct contact with the mature plant can break off tiny trichomes or hairs on the leaves and stems, injecting chemicals into the skin that cause long-lasting irritation and stinging. The flowering plant and its roots are used medicinally, and the toxic trichomes are destroyed in processing.

Uses and Benefits:

Nettle is predominately employed in Western cultures for the treatment of arthritis pain, allergies, and benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). In European herbal traditions, it is also considered to have diuretic properties. Historical and folk uses of nettle include treatment for diarrhea, constipation, asthma, pleurisy, and eczema; it has also been used as an astringent or hemostatic for nose bleeds, uterine hemorrhage, and the like. The leaves are used for their analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and diuretic properties, while the root is used for its anti proliferative effect on prostatie cells.


The major constituents of the leaves include organic acids (e.g., carbonic, formic, citric), amines, and flavonoid compounds. A diuretic effect was observed in rats after intravenous or in�traperitoneal injections of a nettle extract, but no effect was observed after oral administration. Parenteral administration of nettle extracts can also cause depression of the central nervous system (CNS), hypotension, and bradycardia in animals.

Arthritis-The anti-inflammatory/analgesic property of nettle leaf has been used for arthritis symptoms. Topical application appeared to be beneficial in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) for base-of-thumb osteoarthritis; however, the double-blinding (which is difficult to provide for a stinging preparation) was incom�pleteY Oral preparations were reported to be beneficial in four German studies, primarily in terms of NSAID dose reduction. However, the quality of these studies is questionable because only two were controlled, one randomized, and none blinded.

Allergies-For the treatment of allergic rhinitis, a double-blind RCT in the U.S. evaluated the effect of an orally administered freeze-dried preparation for 1 week. Global assessments of subjective effectiveness were favorable after therapy was completed, but personal diary data revealed only a slightly better outcome than placebo. The large drop-out rate (mainly in the nettle group), unclear dosing, and lack of statistical analysis weaken the results of this study.

. Adverse Effects:

Nettle is well tolerated; side effects are generally similar to placebo in the controlled studies. Mild gastrointestinal irritation has been reported, but is uncommon.

Side Effects and Interactions:

Because nettle extract has CNS-depressant effects in rodent toxicity studies, some authorities warn against conmmitant use with CNS depressants. However, it is doubtful that these results apply to humans; there are no reported adverse CNS effects or drug interactions with nettle in the herbal or medical literature.


Uteroactivity has been reported in pregnant and non-pregnant mice, so caution is warranted in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Herbalists have generally found no adverse effects in these populations, however.

Preparations & Doses:

Multiple preparations and formulations of nettle are available, and controlled studies have examined different oral dosing regimens. For the anti-inflammatory effect in acute arthritis, 1340 mg/day of a powdered extract or 50 g/day of stewed nettle leaf was used. For allergic rhinitis, two 300-mg capsules of freeze-dried stinging nettle were dosed 1-7 times per day (mean t.i.d.). For BPH, typical doses are 300-600 mg of a methanol extract of the root. In the herbalist literature, 2-5 g t.i.d. of dried herb is usually taken as an infusion or extract. Topical application of the fresh leaf can be an effective analgesic, as long as the nettle produces a stinging sensation with wheals (it may act as a simple counterirritant), and treatment is repeated daily for several days.

Summary Evaluation

Several clinical trials have found nettle to be beneficial for arthritis pain and BPH symptoms, but poorly designed or unknown study methodology limits the potential benefits reported in these investi�gations. Minimal clinical evidence is available for the use of nettlo in allergic rhinitis and as a diuretic. As the use of nettle appears to be safe and well tolerated, it is acceptable for patients to try this herb for mild arthritic, allergic, or BPH symptoms. However, the efficacy for any indication remains unproven.

Pour little amount of water and allow it to boil, later add 1-2 teaspoon of honey into it. Keep this cough syrup aside for 5-6 hours and give a teaspoon of it to the patient at least two times in a day.

Ginger is one of the most used and effective home remedy. It is used for the cure of several diseases including cough. Prepare cough syrup by mixing a half tablespoon of ginger paste, and a half tablespoon of pepper powder. Further add equal amount (one tablespoon) of vinegar and honey into it. Mix with 2-3 tablespoon of water and keep it aside. Take this cough syrup 2-3 times a day. This is one of the widely accepted home remedy for the treatment of cough. Ginger, garlic tea:

Like ginger, garlic too is a very old home remedy. Doctors all over the world have admitted the usefulness of these two natural doctors of mankind. Prepare a tea by adding small piece of ginger cut in small slices, 1-2 garlic seeds, and small amount of lemon juice into the boiling water. Boil it around 15-20 minutes. What is Pneumonia?

Types of Pneumonia

There are different types of pneumonia.

Atypical Pneumonia: Bacteria are responsible for these types of pnuemonia, including walking pneumonia. A person suffering from this variety could have a dry cough. It is a mild variety, and the patient need not be admitted to the hospital.

Opportunistic pneumonia: As long as your immune system is in good condition, you don’t have to worry about contracting this disease. However, people with weak immune systems should take special care not to get infected.

What is Bronchitis?

Bronchitis is a disorder characterized by inflammation of the bronchi or air passages that transport air from the trachea to the lungs. Inflammation of the bronchi leads to the accumulation of mucus, which causes the blocking of the bronchial cells. Types of bronchitis

Burning Pain After Shoulder Surgery – Healing Tips

Shoulder surgery is one of the marvels of modern medicine, correcting serious injuries and diseases that have plagued humankind since pre-historic times, including shoulder separation, dislocation, fracture, arthritis, and tendonitis.

The introduction by the medical community of arthroscopic surgery presented another huge leap forward, allowing the surgeon to avoid making the large incisions required by older, open surgery techniques. With arthroscopic surgery, the time required to heal the tissues surrounding the shoulder joint is reduced considerably versus with open surgery. Tiny incisions allow the surgeon to conduct the entire procedure using special tools that reach into the affected area and carry out the procedure.

Still, even when arthroscopic surgery is used, many shoulder surgery patients experience a burning pain after shoulder surgery. This can last for days or weeks and can trouble the patient, who is just trying to get on with his or her life.

Here are some tips for how to handle burning pain after shoulder surgery. Note that the best course of action for you to reduce and eliminate your own shoulder pain will vary by the shoulder problem being corrected and the choice of procedure. Consult with your doctor before undergoing any healing regimen.


Immediately after surgery, you will likely be given strong pain medications at the hospital, such as morphine or Demerol.

During surgery, your doctor may have chosen to insert a small plastic catheter into the actual site of the surgery inside the body. The catheter is connected to a small pump filled with anesthetic and is situated outside of the body. The pump slowly feeds the shoulder with reducing medicine and can help considerably with pain reduction. The catheter and pump are removed by the patient 2-3 days after surgery.

Meanwhile, the doctor will usually prescribe pain medications such as hydrocodone or Tylenol with codeine, as well as an anti-inflammatory medication, since much of the burning pain felt after shoulder surgery is caused by inflammation and fluid buildup in the shoulder.

Incision Care:

Your incisions after arthroscopic surgery will usually be so small that they will not be closed with sutures. The incisions may weep – or drain – a bit over the first 24 hours. If they do, be sure to change the dressings and wounds regularly to keep them dry. Notify your doctor if the wounds weep for a period beyond the first 24 hours.

Ice Application:

Be sure to apply ice to the affected area for at least 20 minutes per day for the first few days after surgery. Do not place the ice directly onto the skin. Rather, place a damp towel on the skin, then apply an ice pack (or a pack of frozen vegetables, such as peas) onto the towel. This will help reduce inflammation, which be not only painful, but which can also lead to tissue scarring if not controlled properly.

Stretching & Exercise:

It is important to keep the muscles in the shoulder loose. Light, slow stretching is a very good way to accomplish this. Your doctor can provide you with a list of stretches appropriate to your type of surgery.

Immobility and Physical Therapy:

You will likely need to keep your shoulder largely immobile for a period of weeks, using a sling. It is important to not move your shoulder during the indicated period, even if the pain goes away.

Your doctor may also prescribe physical therapy that you can perform at home. Examples include: the pendulum (allowing your arm to swing in small circles), isometric exercises (tightening the muscles), passive range of motion exercises (whereby someone else moves your arm), and resistance exercises (whereby the shoulder is moved against resistance). Following these faithfully should ensure smooth healing and reduce pain.

Following these tips should help reduce your burning pain. Meanwhile, be sure to contact your doctor if you develop a fever, your pain cannot be controlled by medication, or a foul odor develops around the wounds.

Tibial Plateau Fractures

The tibial plateau is the flat, expanded top of the shin bone or tibia which makes up the lower half of the knee joint. It is a very important part of the body for load bearing and any disruption of this area can cause abnormalities in alignment of the knee, knee stability and movement especially weight bearing and walking. Early recognition and treatment of this injury is vital to avoid the potential disability which could ensue and the longer term consequences of knee arthritis. More than half the sufferers from this fracture are over fifty years of age.

Older women make up a significant proportion of patients with this fracture, related to the degree of osteoporosis present in this group. More energetic injuries present with this fracture in younger people. When this fracture occurs, the usual method is for a downward force to be acting on the knee joint when it is suddenly pushed into a knock knee posture. Most commonly the outer condyle of the femur crushes down on the tibial condyle below it and presses the bone downwards into a fracture. Motor vehicles injuries are a common reason for this presentation, with falls from a height and sporting injuries also figuring.

Around 25% of this kind of injury is secondary to a person being hit by a slow speed car at roughly the height of the knee joint, the bumper being the primary contact point. Falling from a height or sporting activities including horse riding can also result in this fracture. A fracture may result from a low energy event or a high energy event, depression fractures being more common from lower energy contacts and splitting fractures more common in higher energy involvement. This type of fracture can present in many complex ways and Schatzker and co workers have proposed a classification into six subtypes which is widely used.

Patient assessment does not concentrate solely on the state of the bony structures but includes the soft tissues in the local area including nerves, muscles and blood vessels. Cruciate ligament and cartilage (meniscal) injuries accompany around half of the number of tibial plateau fractures and these may require separate surgical intervention. The medial collateral ligament, on the inside of the knee joint, is more at risk from the injuring forces as they often hit the knee laterally and force it into a knock knee position. More severe events can fracture the medial plateau and this is accompanied by higher rates of soft tissue damage.

It may be appropriate to accept a number of fracture displacement types for non-operative or conservative treatment but if the fracture depression is over 5 millimetres it may be decided to raise up the depressed surface and place a bone graft under it. If the fracture is an open one (with an open wound) then surgery will be required, as it will in cases of damage to the vascular system and in the case of the development of compartment syndrome. If the fracture is not severe then it should be treated conservatively and operation may be avoided, at least temporarily, in cases where extensive soft tissue damage threatens tissue integrity.

Once the diagnosis has been established treatment can be started and this can include treatments to reduce inflammation and swelling such as rest, immobilisation, local compression and elevation of the leg. Cutting away any dead or dying tissues, a procedure known as debridement, is very important to maintain the health of the remaining viable tissues. If there is any sign of inappropriately high pressure developing in part of the leg, known as compartment syndrome, the treatment is immediate fasciotomy by opening of the tissue compartments.

Tibial plateau fractures have as a treatment strategy to restore alignment of the knee joint, re-establish full range of movement, and ensure stability of the knee and anatomical alignment. Overall the knee should be painless, movable and free from arthritis. Strong immobilisation of the fracture by surgery is necessary in unstable joints, with the denser bone of younger people allowing this. Functional bracing and total knee replacement may be necessary in older patients who have reduced bone density.

Two Types of Injuries
There are two types of injuries that happened to accident victims:  These include Hard Tissue and Soft Tissue Injuries.  Hard tissue injuries usually require emergency medical treatment.  Most soft tissue injuries respond best to chiropractic care. 

Hard Tissue Injuries
Hard tissue injuries are those injuries which happen to the bones.  They include fractures, broken bones and dental problems.  These along with cuts, bruises and burns fall within the category of Emergency Medical Care.  Most of these have a set healing time.  Once you’ve been checked and treated for these types of injuries, the next thing to be concerned about are soft tissue injuries.

Soft Tissue Injuries
Soft tissue injuries are those injuries which happen to all the remaining tissues of the body.  These include sprains and strains of the musculoskeletal system, including the spine and neck.  The most prevalent soft tissue injury found in auto accidents in known as whiplash. 

Whiplash is a term used to describe what happens to your head and neck in an automobile accident.  It can occur at any angle; head on collisions, rear-end impacts, from any corner, or from being T-Boned, which is impact from the side.  
The ill effects of a whiplash injury can occur instantly or it could be weeks, months or even years before symptoms occur.  Injuries to the neck caused by a sudden movement (head forward, back, or sideways) is commonly referred to as “whiplash” or “acceleration/deceleration injuries”.  Literally thousands of pounds of force is exerted upon the neck and spine of the whiplash victim.  These forces result in tearing of muscles, ligaments, and tendons, and in turn, can result in a displacement of the vertebrae of the spine (subluxation) which is a dysfunctional joint causing nerve irritation (pinched spinal nerves).  The results of such injuries can cause neck pain, shoulder and arm pain or numbness, elbow and hand pain or numbness, mid back pain, headaches, dizziness, and blurred vision.  The injured areas lose the ability to function and loss of range of motion (stiffness) occurs. This is where whiplash pain comes from.  It’s most prevalent in the neck – but can happen to any area of the spine or body.

Symptoms of Whiplash
Whiplash symptoms can include neck pain and stiffness, shoulder pain, headaches, back pain, arm pain, numbness or tingling in your fingers, dizziness or lightheadedness, mid back pain, low back pain, numbness or tingling down your legs.  Whiplash may also produce facial pain, ringing in the ears or hearing loss, vertigo, blurred vision, or even hoarseness.  Whiplash is real and painful.   You may experience one or many of the above symptoms.  Each person is unique in their injuries. 

The Problem With Whiplash
The problem with whiplash is that very few doctors truly understand it.  Well meaning emergency room physicians, general medical doctors and physical therapists do not appreciate the extent of the pain and injuries of whiplash accident victims.  The end result is these people are often provided inadequate treatment to care for their injuries.  Don’t let this happen to you.

Whiplash Injuries Can Remain Hidden For Weeks Or Months
Because of the body’s ability to adapt to injury, some whiplash injuries can remain hidden for weeks or months before pain or other symptoms surface.  By the time symptoms surface, many people have already signed their right s to treatment away.   Insurance companies know the facts and spend millions of dollars a year to hide them.   It is no secret that insurance companies may not have your best interest in mind and attempt to get you to prematurely settle your claim in order that they can avoid additional liability.  Insurance companies are controlled by stockholders whose primary aim is to make money.  Their concern is not your health.  Their concern is to get you to settle for as little as possible.  If you do, what happens when hidden challenges begin surfacing?  Don’t let this happen to you.  Preserve your rights to receive the treatment you need by not signing away your rights.


Chiropractic is the most appropriate approach to these types of injuries.  Chiropractic care utilizes specific bone manipulations (Adjustments) to help normalize spinal function.  This is crucial in the beginning phases of healing to bring back proper motion, but return of functional joint motion usually requires 2-3 months of chiropractic care.    Active care allows the soft tissue (muscles, ligaments, and tendons) to heal most effectively with minimal scar tissue and physical therapy can take from a few months up to a year to complete the healing process. 

There are 3 phases of healing that our bodies must undergo in any type of injury and chiropractic combined with physiotherapy is the most effect approach to all soft tissue injuries.  The initial phase of healing (Acute Inflammatory Phase) usually lasts 24 to 72 hours and ice (Cryotherapy) and immobilization (Neck Brace) is essential during this phase.   The next phase of healing (Regeneration Phase) begins around 3 to 5 days post injury and can last up to 3-6 months.  Chiropractic care combined with passive modalities is crucial to achieve maximum improvement of joint function during this phase of healing.  This is when damaged tissue is replaced by new tissue (Collagen).   Mobilization to the injured joints (chiropractic care) is essential to proper healing during this phase of care.  The third and final phase of care (Remodeling Phase) begins about 2 to 4 weeks after the injury and can last longer than 1 year in very severe cases.  Remodeling overlaps the regeneration phase of healing and this is when chiropractic and physical therapy is combined.  Remodeling is when new tissue (Collagen) begins and continues to strengthens.  It is essential to be seeing a physical therapist 2 to 4 weeks post injury to reduce recovery time during the remodeling phase.  Always remember chiropractic first, medicine and physiotherapy second, and surgery last.

Pain is an indicator that a problem within are bodies exists.  Without pain our bodies could not tell us that there is an injury and that there is something wrong.  Usually the absence of pain and swelling after injury is an exceedingly poor indicator of healing tissue.  Most minor to moderate whiplash injuries are overlooked by the patient, the hospital, and even the patient’s family medical provider due to the lack of initial pain.  One week up to 2 months after the injury, the patient continues to have pain or the pain worsens, is when most people begin to realize that the injury is much worse then they had imagined.
Improper treatment of whiplash injuries and all soft tissue injuries is a factor in about 50% of the patient’s that finally present themselves to our clinic.  Some patients are given a soft cervical collar by there medical doctor.  If this collar is worn too long, the collar itself can further weaken supportive muscles and actually lengthen recovery time.  If a muscle, ligament, tendon, or joint is subject to prolonged immobilization after injury or surgery this can have significant and profound negative effects.  If a fracture is present the patient is to be first seen by Neuro-surgeon to rule out spinal cord injury and will more than likely have to where a special collar/halo until the fracture is healed.  Once the fractured vertebrae is healed the patient should be sent to a physical therapist to minimize the negative affects of the prolonged immobilization of the soft tissues.  Most MD’s and DO’s prescribe muscle relaxors, pain medications, and anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDS) first and skip chiropractic and physical therapy all together. 

Don’t Take Unnecessary Chances
In whiplash injuries, ligaments, muscles and joints are stretched and torn out of their original positions.  When this happens, the nerves become compressed and cause pain.  Without proper care, the injury can progressive grow worse, because the neck vertebrate are now unstable and disc decay can form.  Your ligaments and other soft tissues can heal with scar tissue, and your vertebrate may heal in the wrong positions, creating long-term instability and weakness.   This is a permanent condition known as fibrosis, the pain is real and can last a lifetime.  Don’t take unnecessary chances.

What is Cerebral Palsy and How Could it Affect Your Oral Health

More than thousands of people have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, with very different circumstances leading to this defect. Cerebral palsy is a physical disorder wherein the motor skills of a person are in defect due to problems in the brain that controls the nerves and the muscles, thus making it a neurological problem. While cerebral palsy is often identified during childbirth, there may be some complications in the pregnancy that may result to this disorder to the child. As a result, the child may manifest some loss of control in their muscles. Depending on the type of disorder that they have, these children may have exaggerated movements of their limbs, may drag one leg, or may have scissored movements. Cerebral palsy currently cannot be cured, but the child can be taught by the parents to adapt to their environment and improve their coping capabilities.

Medications need to be taken in order to cope with this disorder. However, cerebral palsy not only affects a person’s motor skills, but also sets about some complications that may seem minor issues, but may become bigger problems. Oral health is especially one of the most largely ignored areas that may be affected by cerebral palsy.

This may seem strange, but it’s true. People with cerebral palsy tend to have a tinge of green teeth. There are currently no known reasons for this, but there are ways for dentists to change the color. Development of the tooth enamel, which protects the teeth from bacteria, may also be slow or may completely stop prematurely. However, there are artificial enamels that may be set in order to ensure their restoration.

The lack of muscle control may also contribute to some inherent actions that may not be avoided, one of which is continued teeth grinding. Constant teeth grinding can wear them down and may also cause infection, therefore repairs need to be made.

Guillain-barre Syndrome (gbs) – Definition, Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Guillain-Barré Syndrome called is acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy and Landry’s ascending paralysis. It is a an inflammatory disorder of the peripheral nerves and autoimmune disorder. Its frequency is about 1 to 2 cases in every 100,000 people per year in the United States. Men and women, but it occurs most often in young and the elderly.Guillain-Barre syndrome may be an autoimmune disorder in which the body produces antibodies that damage the myelin sheath that surrounds peripheral nerves. The myelin sheath is a fatty substance that surrounds axons. It increases the speed at which signals travel along the nerves. The disorder is characterised by progressive symmetrical paralysis and loss of reflexes, usually beginning in the legs. Perhaps 50% of cases occur shortly after a microbial (viral or bacterial) infection such as a sore throat or diarrhea. An autoimmune mechanism, in which the patient’s defense system of antibodies and white blood cells are triggered into damaging the nerve covering or insulation, leading to weakness and abnormal sensation.

GBS commences with progressive muscular weakness of extremities that may lead to paralysis. It spreads rapidly, ascending to involve the cranial nerves. Guillain-Barre syndrome may occur in association with viral infections like glandular fever, AIDS, and herpes simplex or after infections with bacteria. Most people with Guillain-Barre syndrome experience their most significant weakness within three weeks after symptoms begin. The symptoms are not always the same in every person, but typically reflexes will be lost and the paralysis or loss of feeling will occur on both sides of the body rather than just one side or the other. About one quarter of the time, the paralysis continues up the chest and freezes the breathing muscles, leaving the patient dependent on a ventilator. If the swallowing muscles are also affected, a feeding tube may be needed. In some cases, signs and symptoms may progress very rapidly with complete paralysis of legs, arms and breathing muscles over the course of a few hours.

Symptoms of this phase, causing only mild difficulty in walking, requiring crutches or a walking stick. Supportive care with monitoring of all vital functions is the cornerstone of successful management in the acute patient. Plasmapheresis. This treatment — also known as plasma exchange — is a type of “blood cleansing” in which damaging antibodies are removed from your blood. Plasmapheresis consists of removing the liquid portion of your blood (plasma) and separating it from the actual blood cells. Additional treatments are directed at prevention of complications such as choking during feeding (through positioning or use of a nasogastric feeding tube), blood clots (through mobilising the patient and sometimes the use of drugs to thin the blood ), intermittent bladder catheterization, and effective treatment of pain. Intravenous immunoglobulin. Immunoglobulin contains healthy antibodies from blood donors. High doses of immunoglobulin can block the damaging antibodies that may contribute to Guillain-Barre syndrome.

Treatment for Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) Tips

1. Plasmapheresis and high-dose immunoglobulin therapy are used.

2. Supportive care with monitoring of all vital functions is the cornerstone of successful management in the acute patient.

3. Immunoglobulin contains healthy antibodies from blood donors.

4. Intravenous immune globulin (IVIg) is equally effective in reducing the severity and duration of the symptoms.

5. Use of steroid hormones has also been tried as a way to reduce the severity of Guillain-Barre.
