While candida occurs naturally in the body, when it is allowed to grow unrestricted, it can cause problems in breastfeeding-for both the mother and infant. Other issues that leave a breastfeeding woman more susceptible to nipple and breast thrush is when the woman has had a vaginal yeast infection during the pregnancy or if she is experiencing cracked nipples due to baby’s poor latch when nursing. Both conditions open the door to candida. Other contributing factors include chronic illness, lowered immune system and use of steroids.

Possible symptoms of a breastfeeding woman with candida include:

· A red rash-like appearance on the nipple or red nipples.

· Nipples may appear swollen, scaly, or have tiny blisters.

· Sensitive and irritated nipples; pain or discomfort when touched.

· Severe pain during nursing.

· Pain, burning and/or itching of the nipples during and between feedings.

· Sharp pains deep in the breast tissue or milk ducts.

· Decrease in milk supply.

· Breastfeeding infant may also have thrush in his or her mouth, although this isn’t always the case.

One of the most frustrating aspects for many mothers with breast thrush is the decrease in milk supply. It is important to most women to attempt to continue breastfeeding through the infection. However, sometimes the severe pain prevents proper let-down reflex which leads to the baby not getting enough milk. If the baby also has thrush in its mouth, which is likely, he or she may also be experiencing pain, adding to the struggle.

Most healthcare professionals recommend treating both the mother and infant for candida overgrowth, even if just one of them is presenting with symptoms. Otherwise, the yeast can continue to be traded back and forth.

The disease does not give any anatomical and tissue changes in the first place, but inactivity, tension and poor circulation may in the long run affect the body shape and give inflammatory reactions.


The exact causes of fibromyalgia are not yet fully understood. An injury to the upper spinal region may trigger the disease. Bacterial and viral infections may also be an initial cause of the disease. Fibromyalgia sufferers often have a magnesium deficiency.

  • A decreased activity of glands producing saliva, sebum and tears.


It is difficult to find a treatment that completely cures the disease, but a skillful combination of lifestyle measures and sometimes also medical treatment can take away most symptoms.

The symptoms of fibromyalgia can make it difficult to attain an active lifestyle. Yet, to do work, sport activities and hobby activities will decrease the symptoms and the consequences of the disease.

Regular training will greatly decrease the symptoms of the disease. The training should engage all the muscles of the body and also include exercises that improve the condition.

2. Join A Singles’ Social Club–depression and boredom are isolating experiences. Social interaction is an effective antidote Go on the internet and bring up your city. Search for singles events and a whole host of choices will come up from opportunities to meet and greet singles over dinner, bicycling, backpacking, white water rafting, and parachute gliding, to name a few.

3. Start Your Own Club–if you cannot find any social clubs that interest you create your own. All it takes is an idea. Advertise in the “free activities” column of your local newspaper and hear your phone or email jump with interested folks.

4. Take A Course Engage your mind and boredom releases. Local community colleges offer a large variety of courses for those interested in a particular subject rather than studying for a degree. Other venues offering free or low cost courses include neighborhood recreational councils, business retirement clubs, art supply stores, and workshops by experts who advertise in local newsletters.

5. Become A Docent– gaining and imparting knowledge to others powerfully dispels boredom and will increase your sense of competence, further fortifying you against tendrils of depression. Museums often look for volunteers to take training in order to lead groups on informative tours of exhibits. You can learn about art history, meet like-minded folks, and have opportunities to develop friends.

6. Volunteer Your Service giving back to your community gives the reward of feeling kind and generous and doing meaningful work. These feelings impede the buildup of depression. Many organizations would be deeply grateful for your help. You could volunteer at a soup kitchen, your local historic society or railroad museum, or as a baby minder in your local children’s hospital. Also, look around in your town for tourist venues. Choose one that interests you and then call to offer your services.

In any of these ways you can learn and grow doing what you enjoy. And who knows, those of you single might find your soul mate in the process. You certainly will have many opportunities to make new friends with similar interests and who will have more ideas for interesting and fun things to do. And at the very least you are up and moving and exercising your mind, body, and spirit. And when that happens folks, you have no room for boredom and depression.

What Is Trypanophobia? Are You Afraid Of Injections?

The fear of injections is called trypanophobia. This is not too uncommon. This fear can be related to needle phobia which is actually the fear of needles, only it involves actual penetration through the skin. This was officially recognized as a specific phobia in 1994 in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 4th edition.

Types of Trypanophobia

Since trypanophobia is broadly classified as a fear of injections, there are actually four forms of this fear of injections. The four forms of trypanophobia are vaso-vagal, associative, resistive and hyperalgesic.

Vaso-Vagal Trypanophobia

A majority of the trypanophobes are classified under vaso-vagal. These are the people who have a fear of feeling, seeing or even thinking about needle-like objects. There are several changes that can occur because this fear of injections. Normally, the physical effects that they experience their blood pressure decrease or fainting. Physiological changes include panic attacks, sweating, nausea, ringing in their ears, feeling faint or turning pale at the moment that they are injected.

The dangerous thing about this is the fact that it can actually kill a person. This is because it can greatly and directly affect your heart rate and blood pressure which can cause severe shock leading to death.

Associative Trypanophobia

This type of fear of injections is the next most common trypanophobia. The needle phobes affected by this type is around 30%, while Vaso-Vagal trypanophobes are averaging about 50%. This is cause by a traumatic experience with a needle, directly or indirectly involving the trypanophobe. It could have occurred during a medical procedure that was extremely painful, or by witnessing someone who went through a painful event dealing with injections.

Associative trypanophobia is more of a psychological illness than physiological. The person classified under this type of fear of injections is more likely to feel anxiety and panic attacks. There are instances where they can be preoccupied with upcoming procedures dealing with getting injected, even leading to insomnia.

Resistive and Hyperalgesic Trypanophobia

These last two types of fear of injections take up the rest of the 30% of needle phobes, with resistive trypanophobia at 20% and hyperalgesic at 10%.

Resistive trypanophobia involves fear of injections but also being restrained or controlled. This normally comes from poor handling of needle procedures or repressive upbringing with forced restraint. Someone who has been deemed “hysterical” might experience this if they have to be handled in a forceful manner by being given a sedative via syringe.

Hyperalgesic is the fear of injections that does not really involve faring the actual needle. A person with this fear has probably inherited hyperalgesia which is extreme sensitivity to pain. The thought of getting an injection is extremely unbearable to them, let alone experiencing it.

Nail Fungus – Definition, Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Nail fungus is made up of tiny organisms that can infect fingernails and toenails. Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the finger or toe nails which is very difficult to cure. These fungal infections usually cause discoloration, thickening and often softening of the nails. Nail fungus is a difficult condition to treat and may often cause permanent damage to the nails and possibly nail loss. Infections of nail fungus account for about half of all nail disorders. These infections usually develop on nails continually exposed to warm, moist environments, such as sweaty shoes or shower floors. First, let me educate you a little bit about what bile is. Bile is a digestive fluid produced in the liver. Some of the components that make up bile are:

Another thing that makes BR different is this condition irritates the stomach, which causes a gnawing or burning sensation in your upper abdomen.

* Ambulatory Acid Tests – These exams use an acid-measuring probe to identify when, and for how long, acid regurgitates into your esophagus. Ambulatory acid tests are negative in people with bile reflux.

* Endoscopy – In this test, your doctor places a thin, flexible tube with a light and camera (endoscope) down your throat. The endoscope can show ulcerations or inflammation in your stomach or esophagus and can reveal a peptic ulcer.

* Esophageal impedance – Rather than measuring acid, this test can measure whether gas or liquids reflux into the esophagus. It’s helpful for people who have regurgitation of substances that aren’t acidic and therefore wouldn’t be detected by a pH probe.

If not properly treated there can be some serious complications to your health. BR and GERD can cause serious harm to the tissue in your esophagus. The combination of these two conditions can cause other problems like:

* Heartburn
* Esophageal narrowing
* Barrett’s esophagus
* Esophageal cancer
