Overactive Sympathetic Nervous System – One of the Major Causes of Excessive Sweating

In the past medical professionals assumed that people that suffered from the symptoms of excessive sweating – formerly known as Hyperhidrosis – were nervous, anxious or stressed. It was considered a psychological condition that only in recent years has been largely discredited. Research today shows, that over 60% of all people that suffer from Hyperhidrosis have at least one close family member who also suffers from the same condition. This is clearly evidence that heavy perspiration is most likely an inherited, genetic condition and that people with primary hyperhidrosis are no more susceptible to feelings of anxiety and stress than anyone else. These negative feelings in fact are the result of excessive sweating rather than the origin of it.

Most medical experts believe that one of the major causes of Hyperhidrosis is an overactive sympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic nervous system is located in the spine and connected to the internal organs, the blood vessels and the skin. Its functions include the regulation of many important functions of the body, such as the movement of food through the digestive system, the excretion of urine or the production of sweat. Overactive Sympathetic Nervous System and Excessive Sweating. Whenever the sympathetic nervous system senses any increase in body temperature for any reason, it will send a signal to the millions of sweat glands through the nerve pathways of the body. Sweat – produced by the sweat glands – has a cooling effect on the skin, rapidly reducing body temperature.

In primary Hyperhidrosis the nerve pathways become over-stimulated and the sweat glands produce more moisture than necessary for decreasing the body temperature.

Excessive sweating is a problem that plagues countless people worldwide. There is an effective natural treatment for the condition that doesn’t just temporarily reduce sweating, it actually treats the problem and eliminates it.

Lawn Fertilizer – Fall Vs Winterizer Fertilizer – What’s the Difference?

Over the years I have defined a difference between a “Fall” lawn fertilizer and a “Winterizer” fertilizer. These two types of fertilizer really address the root growth and winter hardiness of Kentucky Bluegrass.

Physiologically, grass produces an excessive amount of new roots in the spring and also in the fall when the temperatures are cool, soil moisture is high and primary nutrients for root development are readily available.

Roots of Kentucky bluegrass develop from the underground nodes of the rhizomes and from the basal nodes of the above ground shoots called the crown. Roots also develop at the terminal nodes of rhizomes that emerge above the soil as shoots.

Root growth is greatest in fall, followed by the spring period and slows to almost stops during the high heat in the summer. Root growth of Kentucky bluegrass peaks at soil temperatures of 60F and declines sharply as temperatures rise above 70F. Root growth practically ceases at temperatures above 80F.

FALL fertilizer should be applied when the soil temps start to hit 70 degrees until the soil temps reach the 55 degree mark. A true Fall fertilizer is designed to build new roots for the grass plants by supplying additional phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K), which are the primary nutrients needed to produce new healthy roots. This dose of “P & K” stimulates and supports new root growth, so your lawn is able to “dig in” and get ready for the cold weather. Fall fertilizer also prepares your lawns root to utilize 100% of the Winterizer fertilizer which should follow 4-5 weeks after the fall fertilizer application.

Carbohydrate accumulation and storage in these newly formed roots is the name of the game when it comes to the next stage of nutrient that will be applied.

WINTERIZER fertilizer on the other hand is a fertilizer which is intended to be applied after the grass plant has created all those new, EMPTY roots and just before the ground freezes solidly (or in the case of cheep skates, the one of two application of fertilizer they offer their lawn each year). It is also possible to have this fertilizer activated by those first of the season, wet snow storms or the rains that always come a few weeks prior to that first snows that stick. So In other words, Don’t be concerned with keeping your sprinkling system up and running into December just to water in or activate the winterizer application.

The role of this HIGH NITROGEN ( 1.5 – 2 pounds of active Nitrogen per 1000 square feet) application is to supply the maximum amount of nitrogen that can then be converted into stored, usable carbohydrate before the soil freezes up. This application helps feed the plant through the winter in the southern areas or prepares the cool season grasses for the longer winter ahead. Another benefit from this application is the EARLY Greening Up of your lawn or clients lawn next spring.

To summarize, Carbohydrate accumulation in rhizomes peak in late fall when “above ground” or shoot growth of Kentucky bluegrass slows. As temperatures become favorable for growth in the spring, these carbohydrate reserves become available for development of new shoot growth again.

In essence, this application will “tuck your lawn into bed” and keep it safe during the long, harsh winter allowing it to emerge in the spring as the Champion that all your neighbors will be envious of! Green with Envy!

Heart Diseases Part VIII – Heart Diseases Affecting the Electrical System

The electrical system within the heart is responsible for ensuring that the heart beats correctly so that blood can be transported throughout our the body. Any malfunction of the electrical system in the heart malfunction can cause a fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat.

Types of heart disease that affect the electrical system are known as arrhythmias. They can cause the heart to beat too fast, too slow, or irregularly. These types of heart disease include:

1. Sinus tachycardia
Sinus tachycardia occurs when the sinus rhythm is faster than 100 beats per minute therefore it increases myocardial oxygen demand and reduces coronary blood flow, thus precipitating an ischemia heart or valvular disease.

2. Sinus bradycardia
Sinus bradycardia occurs when a decrease of cardiac output results in regular but unusually slow heart beat less than 60 beats per minute. Symptoms of sinus bradycardia includes a feeling of weightlessness of the head, dizziness, low blood pressure, vertigo, and syncope.

3. Atrial fibrillation
Atrial fibrillation is an irregular heart rhythm that starts in the upper parts (atria) of the heart causing irregular beating between the atria and the lower parts (ventricles) of the heart. The lower parts may beat fast and without a regular rhythm. Symptoms of atrial fibrillation include dizziness, light-headedness, shortness of breath, chest pain and irregular heart beat.

4. Atrial flutter
Atrial flutter is an abnormal heart rhythm that occurs in the atria of the heart causing abnormalities and diseases of the heart. Symptoms of atrial flutter includes shortness of breath, chest pains, anxiety and palpitation.

5. Supraventricular tachycardia
Supraventricular tachycardia is described as rapid heart rate originating above the ventricles, or lower chambers of the heart causing a rapid pulse of 140-250 beats per minute. Symptoms of supraventricular tachycardia include palpitations, light-headedness, and chest pains.

6. Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia
Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia is described as an occasional rapid heart rate. Symptoms can come on suddenly and may go away without treatment. They can last a few minutes or 1-2 days.

7. Ventricular tachycardia
Ventricular tachycardia is described as a fast heart rhythm that originates in one of the ventricles of the heart . This is a potentially life-threatening arrhythmia because it may lead to ventricular fibrillation and/or sudden death. Symptoms of ventricular tachycardia include light headedness, dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath and chest pains.

8.Ventricular fibrillation
Ventricular fibrillation is a condition in which the heart’s electrical activity becomes disordered causing the heart’s lower chambers to contract in a rapid, unsynchronized way resulting in little heart pumps or no blood at all, resulting in death if left untreated after in 5 minutes.

There are many heart diseases affecting electrical system such as premature arterial contractions, wolf parkinson, etc. If you need more information of the above subject, please consult your doctor or visit my home page at:

Understanding the True Nature of Pancreatic Cancer

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network says that pancreatic cancer is the deadliest kind of cancer with a five-year survival rate of 5%. Less than 10% of people with pancreatic cancer are diagnosed before the tumors spread to other organs.

According to the American Cancer Society, “80% of [pancreatic cancer] patients are diagnosed too late to be helped by surgery. Of those that may be helped by surgery, fewer than 40% are cured.” If surgery is an option, the typical survival rate is only 18 to 20 months.

In the article “The Contribution of Cytotoxic Chemotherapy to 5-year Survival in Adult Malignancies,” the pancreatic cancer drug gemcitabine (Gemzarâ ) was reported to increase survival by only 5.4 months. It only stopped pancreatic cancer’s progression for an average of 2.2 months. Overall, the study found that cytotoxic (or cell killing) chemo contributed about 2% to one’s overall chance of survival.

With all this disheartening news, what can someone with pancreatic cancer do to fight this purported death sentence?

I ask you to think back on all the different things you’ve tried in your life to get rid of the hiccups. You’ve probably held your breath, stood on your head, drank water through a straw, put your head between your knees–even tried two of these methods at once. If you’ve ever considered the possibility that hiccups could be “scared” away by having someone sneak up behind you, then considering some pancreatic cancer treatments that are “outside of the box” shouldn’t be a big leap!

Let’s look to what some pioneering doctors can teach us about the true nature of cancer.

The founder of German New Medicine, Dr. Geerd Hamer, has conducted over 40,000 cancer case studies in the last 30 years. His German New Medicine regimen has a 95% cure rate. (“Cure” being defined by conventional medicine as surviving for 5 years after diagnosis.) In the last 10 years, German New Medicine has been tested and verified by physicians and medical associations around the world.

Dr. Hamer has found that cancer is not a disease state–it is a phase during some people’s physical, mental, and emotional healing processes. He has also proven scientifically that cancer is not just some haywire proliferation of cells. In fact, Dr. Hamer’s research has been so specific that he even determined that cancer of the pancreas was caused by “anxiety-anger conflicts with family members” as well as inheritances. Does this apply to you?

Another pioneering doctor, Dr. Arthur Janov, founder of Primal Therapy, says that cancer is caused by repressed feelings. “Repression cannot eliminate pain. It only puts us out of conscious contact with it so we don’t feel the misery, but the damage goes on…The cells…become crazy. The same chronic repression welded to chronic pain that can make someone ‘crazy’ can possibly result in cancer.

Dr. Janov also says, “Active suffering may be a good antidote for cancer…It is not just pain that makes us sick; it is pain plus repression…All things being equal, the more you suffer consciously, the longer you will live…”

In his book Why You Get Sick and How You Get Well, Dr. Janov explains that the immune system is where the mind meets the body. He says that stress and poor psychological health alter cellular function. Things like criticism and neglect cause cells to malfunction, which lead to disease. None of this is ground-breaking as a number of other studies have arrived at the same conclusion.

Due to the painkillers our brains produce to protect us from trauma, the immune cells are forced to experience our emotional pain too. Additionally, the immune system must establish a knowingness of itself in order to detect what is a foreign invader in the body. Long-term emotional stress debilitates our immune cells’ ability to recognize and fight invaders. This impairment of immune function leads not just to tumor growth but to bigger, more aggressive tumors.

The first step in beating pancreatic cancer is empowering yourself with knowledge of how cancer works, pondering the critical thinking of some field experts who are not apart of “the cancer industry,” and learning to correct the imbalances in your body that have lead to pancreatic cancer. The Cancer Immunology Program at Australia’s Cancer Centre has shown that the human immune system can stop the growth of tumors and cause them to become dormant.

This process has been called “equilibrium.” During equilibrium, the body can, not just stop, but actually kill cancer cells. 7 Medications Pediatricians Should Never Prescribe, But Still Do

Almost every visit to the pediatrician results in the prescription of one or more medications. As a parent, you’d like to trust that the medications your doctor prescribes for your child are selected based on careful reflection, and are not only effective, but safe. Unfortunately that’s not always the case. As a board-certified pediatrician of sixteen years I regret to confess that many of the treatments we provide are ineffective, while others can cause grave harm. Too often, we doctors stray from accepted standards of care as a matter of expediency, the result of habit, or to satisfy perceived parental expectations. Nowhere is this so apparent as when a pediatrician prescribes a medication that experts agree should never be used by primary care doctors.

A medication that is shunned by pediatricians typically possesses one or more of the following features: it is not safe; it is not effective; its use has been supplanted by newer, better choices; pediatricians do not have the expertise required to prescribe the drug. Using these criteria, let us examine 7 medications that your pediatrician should never prescribe under any circumstance.

Promethazine:

Pediatricians commonly use this medication for the treatment of nausea and vomiting that often accompany viral intestinal infections. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work very well and it frequently produces drowsiness, dizziness and confusion: symptoms we’d like to avoid in a child whose mental status must be monitored as an indicator of dehydration. The intra-venous use of this medication has resulted in tragic events requiring the amputation of limbs due to the caustic nature of the drug, and is now prohibited in many hospitals. Fortunately, we have a much more effective medication at our disposal with a far better safety profile; which makes one wonder why some doctors still cling to Promethazine.

Cough suppressants:

The common cold is the most common ailment in childhood. It is natural to want to provide some relief to a child whose cough is keeping her from sleeping. Unfortunately, the cough medications we have at our disposal have not been shown to be effective in children and may cause unacceptable side-effects. Over the counter cough medicines almost universally include the active ingredient, Dextromethorphan (DM), whereas prescription versions may employ Codeine. Both these drugs are derivatives of opiates. Respiratory depression and behavioral problems have been observed in children taking these products, and in infants, overdoses have resulted in deaths.

In October 2007, the American Academy of Pediatrics proposed to the Food and Drug Administration that the following warning be included on the labeling of cough medications:

“This product has been shown to be ineffective in the treatment of cough and cold in children under six years of age. Serious adverse reactions, including but not limited to death have been reported with the use, misuse and abuse of this product.” Inexplicably, many pediatricians continue to routinely prescribe these medications even to infants.

Dexamethasone eye drops:

This is an example of a medication that can be extremely efficacious, but which pediatricians should not prescribe because they lack the requisite expertise to use it safely. Dexamethasone is a steroid that is utilized for its anti-inflammatory properties. These eye drops are a powerful tool for a variety of conditions but require a careful eye exam by an ophthalmologist prior to their use. If applied in the midst of some eye infections, Dexamethasone-containing drops can exacerbate the infection and lead to irreparable eye injury. This medication is best left to the eye specialists.

Nystatin with Triamcinolone Combination Cream:

Sometimes the sum of the parts is less than the individual parts. Nystatin is a useful topical antifungal, routinely used to treat diaper rashes that have an overgrowth of yeast. Triamcinolone is a potent steroid cream that is effective in treating a variety of inflammatory conditions of the skin, including eczema. The problem arises when these two medications are combined. Doctors, wanting to add some anti-inflammatory effect in the treatment of a yeast rash, or uncertain as to whether the rash is the result of a fungal infection or due to plain inflammation, mistakenly instruct parents to use this product in the diaper area. The potency of all steroid creams is multiplied when applied to skin that is occluded by dressings, plastic wraps, or diapers. When applied under cover of a diaper, Triamcinolone can lead to ulcerations of the skin, which often intensify as a well-meaning parent continues to apply ever more cream in a frantic but futile attempt to alleviate the worsening rash. Only thin applications of far weaker steroid creams might be applied to this extremely delicate area of the body, and only after the careful consideration of potential risks and benefits.

Cefaclor:

A few decades ago, Cefaclor was one of the only oral preparations of a family of antibiotics known as the Cephalosporins, which are commonly used to treat a variety of childhood infections. This particular medication, however, has a much higher rate of allergic reactions compared to other drugs in its class, including a particularly severe complication known as Serum Sickness-Like Reaction, in which children develop rash, fever, swollen, painful joints, and other troubling symptoms. Furthermore, many bacteria have become resistant to this drug. In a large study published in 2003, out of 19 antibiotics tested, Cefaclor was the least likely to kill the most common bacterium implicated in ear infections, sinus infections and pneumonia. Academic medical centers have stopped using this medication some 20 years ago, but some doctors in the community just can’t break the habit.

Albuterol Oral Syrup:

Albuterol by inhalation, either in an aerosol or inhaler form, remains the most important rescue medicine for the treatment of asthma attacks. When the medication is inhaled, it travels directly to receptors located on the walls of the respiratory airways, signaling muscle fibers to relax, thereby reducing bronchial constriction and improving the flow of air in and out of the lungs. The inhaled route maximizes the amount of medication delivered to its intended target and mitigates common side-effects, such as jitteriness and an accelerated heart rate, that are produced when the drug enters the bloodstream. When the oral formulation is used, the medication must first be absorbed from the intestinal tract into the circulation, by which it then travels throughout the body, with just a fraction of the ingested dose eventually finding its way onto the receptors of the airways. This is a highly ineffective delivery system that magnifies the side-effects while minimizing effectiveness. Albuterol oral syrup is often used not for asthma, but as a type of ersatz cough medicine; a practice that is a relic of the past.

Anti-Diarrhea Compounds:

Diarrhea is a common occurrence in childhood, most often the result of a viral gastroenteritis; what is commonly referred to as the “stomach flu”. At times, it can be the result of bacterial dysentery. The key to the treatment of this usually self-limited but bothersome condition is to provide hydration and nutrition. Guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention discourage the use of anti-diarrhea compounds due to their lack of efficacy and the potential for serious side-effects, including severe cramping, and temporary paralysis of the gut, which can lead to a concentration of bacteria and their toxins in the setting of dysentery. Unfortunately, many pediatricians are either unaware of, or choose to ignore these recommendations.

At its best, the practice of pediatrics incorporates scientific evidence, critical thinking, best practices, and accepted standards of care, while embracing humility and a deep compassion; ever cognizant of each child’s unique constitution and the cultural values of his family. Too often, we doctors fall far short of this objective, particularly when we are rushed, when we don’t take the time to listen patiently or examine carefully, or when we fall into the ruts of habit, not questioning what we think we know.

Sir William Osler, a renowned 19th century physician who practiced at a time where many of the treatments were ineffective and fraught with hazards, wrote, “One of the first duties of the physician is to educate the masses not to take medicine”: an admonition that retains a clear ring of truth even in the 21st century. All medications have potential side-effects and, particularly in children, a wise philosophy is to use the fewest medications with the most favorable safety profile for the least amount of time.

Many childhood illnesses are self-resolving conditions that doctors should manage by providing comfort to the child and by counseling parents, rather than blithely dispensing prescriptions designed to subdue symptoms without a conscientious attempt at identifying the true nature of the underlying condition. We doctors must do better. The best parents can do is to become informed consumers of health-care, and never hesitate to question their doctor.

home remedy for Tuberculosis

According to scientific studies, three million people die from home remedy for Tuberculosis every year. A number of around eight million new discovered Tuberculosis conditions appear per year and 95% is estimated to be in developing areas. Countries like those in South America, Africa or Asia have the highest susceptibility to Tuberculosis due to the low living standards and the bad economic and social conditions.Ayurvedic herbal treatment has a definite and important role to play in the successful management of tuberculosis infection. This role has significance on several fronts. In the last five decades, it has become apparent that all currently available modern drugs for tuberculosis can be potentially toxic to the liver. This may lead to decreased appetite, inflammation of the liver, and in severe cases, irreversible damage and liver failure. There are several Ayurvedic medicines which act favorably on the liver, like Kutki  These medicines, when added to the tuberculosis treatment regimes, instantly correct liver problems, and help in a rapid therapeutic response to treatment.

Latent tuberculosis infection is when a person is infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis but does not have symptoms of disease. They are said to be asymptomatic. Active tuberculosis disease is the full-blown disease which, if not treated, will kill half of the patients. One in ten latent infections will progress to active tuberculosis disease. Typical symptoms of an active tuberculosis patient include weakness, fever, chest pain, respiratory insufficiency, fever and cough. Strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis have become multidrug-resistant making the disease particularly difficult to treat. Treatment includes chemotherapy and a combination of different types of drug. Tuberculosis is spread by infective particles produced through coughing by patients with active tuberculosis. The air-borne particles carrying the bacteria can be inhaled by other people.Almost all spreading of tuberculosis are hidden because its carriers do not show its indication and they are not infected. However, one of 10 people will come down with this disease along the time because of the weakness of his immune system.
From 1,8 million of death in 2008 or 4.930 death in a day, a half million of them are AIDS patients. Most tuberculosis usually attack young men that are in their most productive time and most of the deaths happen in developing countries. More than half of deaths happen in Asia, like Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Philippine. The World Bank estimates that the disease can lose 4-7% of gross domestic income of some countries that come down with. Tuberculosis that is incurable is usually caused by medicinal treatment by halves and it often happens to patients that stop their treatments when they feel better.

Tuberculosis is a preventable disease. There are a few measures one can take to protect their health. First, you should be tested regularly. If you have an immune suppressing disease, live or work in a prison or nursing home, were born in a TB prevalent country, or have other risk factors, then a Mantoux test should be done every six months. If you test positive without symptoms, speak with your doctor about treatments to reduce the risk of developing active tuberculosis. The most important step you can do for the public and yourself is to finish the entire course of medication. Treatment that is stopped to early allows the bacteria a chance to mutate to a drug resistant form and more information on http://www.himalayahomeremedies.com/homeremedies_tuberculosis.htm .

A Cheat Sheet For Conquering Panic Attacks Using Non-Drug Solutions

The sound you hear when you crack your knuckles is actually the sound of nitrogen gas bubbles bursting.

Isn’t it interesting how we often misinterpret our bodily cues. For example: You scale Mt. Everest. And even if you just reached base camp you felt shortness of breath, chest tightness, heart palpitations and feeling faint. And you’re afraid you’re having a heart attack. When in fact, it is the thin air at such high elevation that truly caused all the symptoms. We have the tendency to overestimate the possibility of negative results.

This is the same when you have panic attacks. You will often react to your physical symptoms negatively because of inaccurate beliefs that we might die or lose control.

If you won’t do something to correct misinterpretation of bodily cues you will have repeated experiences of the same thing. It will become a vicious cycle. And it will spill into other areas of your life. You will become afraid of having another panic attack again. The fear of “fear” must be addressed. Or you will become a full-blown agoraphobic.

Here are non drug solutions to stop that irrational fear and get over your anxiety:

1. A member of the mint family the herb Lemon balm was used as far back as the Middle ages. Lemon balm induces sleep which is good if you have insomnia. It has calming and soothing properties which reduces stress, anxiety and panic attacks. Lemon balm if you combine it with other herbal remedies like hops, valerian and chamomile treat various kinds of wounds, insect bites and stings, bloating and indigestion.

You can buy lemon balm in bulk in dried leaf form as well as capsule, extracts, tinctures, tea, oil and cream form. Lemon balm has tannins which is responsible for its anti-viral effects and eugenol which helps soothes muscle spasms and numb tissues. Consult with your licensed herbalist first or your doctor if you are pregnant or taking other medications like thyroid medicines.

2. Take Royal jelly. It is a supplement that contains vitamin B12, acid folic and iron. These components fight any form of blood deficiency which can cause chronic illnesses. It is also a natural treatment for panic attacks.

3. Be your own best friend. When you find berating yourself for your boo boos, all that negative thoughts are starting to bounce in your mind. Clear your “internal chatter.” Quiet your brain by focusing on a mantra particularly when you are meditating. How would your conversation go when you are with your best friend? That’s how you should say the same things to yourself. Be good to yourself. If no one else will, then who?

4. Deal with your panic attacks on three levels ( mental, emotional and physical)

In the realm of emotional, learn various relaxation techniques. Always schedule mini-breaks and have down time as often as you can. If your day is stressful just sit on a quiet spot, deep breath and meditate. Or take catnaps. It can refresh you.

In the realm of mental-equip yourself with an index card full of affirmative statements like:

“This too shall pass.”

“It’s an inconvenience but not life threatening'”

So on and so forth.

On the physical or behavior level try to distract yourself in the midst of a panic episode.

Do something like: Talk to someone, sip iced cold water or slushies, slow your breathing.

The simple act of distracting yourself from your uncomfortable bodily symptoms will help you recover faster.

5. Regularly take your supplements of calcium, magnesium and Vit.B complex. They help support in producing GABA receptors that aid the relay of messages between nerve endings. These supplements are responsible for the proper function of the nervous system.

6. Yoga, tai chi, lifting weights, dancing etc. are all non-drug remedies that relieve anxiety, mood disorder and panic attacks. These exercises burn lactic acid and helps produce happy hormones called endorphin and serotonin. Get your daily dose of the happy hormones to keep panic attacks and anxiety away by working out everyday.

7. Watch the toxins, additives, caffeine, stimulants and nicotine in the form of cigarettes, nasal decongestants, alcohol, daily mug of espresso etc. These are all kryptonite if you are a panic attack sufferer. So stay away from them.

We all have stress. That’s a fact. We are expose to this thing called life. We have the tendency to buffer ourselves from stress and self-medicate through:

1. Having shots of tequila before sleeping.

2. Binge-eating.

3. Drinking mugs and mugs of coffee to keep you awake.

4. Over-stuffing yourself with comfort food full of additives and preservatives.

Just remember too much of a good thing is bad.

Say No To Smoking And Yes To Chinese Medicine

Smoking is one of the most popular vices of the society. It is considered to be an essential past time of people after parties and other social gatherings. Wherever there is a long hours of conversation, smoking exists. Smoking is a habit that a person can live with or without. However, this habit is also known as a self-pollution because cigarettes affect the air people breathe. This is the reason why nowadays, people, organization, and communities encourage smokers to quit.

Pipes, cigars, tobacco contain various cancer-producing and noxious ingredients. It contains nicotine, carbon monoxide, ammonia, and a variety if harmful substances called tar. Too much smoking has its bad effects on the smoker. A heavy smoker may increase his or her risk to have lung cancer. Even mild smokers are in risk in getting tongue or mouth cancer. Emphysema, bronchitis, heart diseases, hardening of the arteries may occur with frequent cigarette smoking.

Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health, according to a cigarette commercial. Many physicians advise a patient is simple: If you are not a smoker, do not begin. If you are a chain smoker, bring to a halt. If you can not end smoking, reduce or lessen it.

Besides from avoiding temptation, one may try to quit smoking by taking Chinese medicines. One of these is the ear acupuncture. In most cases, a patient experiences lack of craving to tobacco after the treatment. This method also rouses detoxification. It encourages the patient to relax which enables them to fight the smoking habit. The outcome differs from one smoker to another. It really depends whether one is determined to stop smoking or not.

Quit Smoking With Gan Cao

This Chinese medicine formula is said to be effective in addressing smoking when it starts to become a bad habit.

It can discourage the habitual smoker from puffing cigarette after cigarette. All they have to do is to breathe in the gan cao aroma. Prepare 300 grams of gan cao and 1000 cc of water. Simmer gan cao to form a paste and then strain the extract. Mixed this paste with tobacco. Both the aroma and the taste of gan cao help in treating habitual smoking.

Kudzu remedies For Smoking

Kudzu has been a popular herbal medicine since 206 B.C. Kudzu has a lot of medical uses and it can be mixed with other herbs for maximum results.

One of the main ingredients of kudzu is isoflavone. This substance can replace nicotine in the brain receptors to help a person to stop his smoking habit. Take kudzu tablet once a day or as a dietary supplement. It is available in tea, tablet, and capsule form. Ask an herbalist or a physician to determine the exact dosage for you.

Quitting a habit, whether good or bad, is never an easy task. If you do not make it thee first time, try again. One should determine his or her strength to quit smoking, fight the temptations, and get this opportunity to a better life.

Powerful Spiritual Healer in Mexico

I went to see someone called El Maestro, or El Maestro Constantino, this past week in the wine valley close to my home in Baja. People think very highly of this spiritual healer. Much publicity went out to let everyone know locally about his arrival. He had been here one day in January, but I could not go at that time. I figured it would be an all day affair, which indeed it was. Constantino came back for another three days in February due to popular demand. It was his calling, he was called to come back. Some people go to see him every chance they get. Some of my friends are volunteers as they believe in him so much. One friend told of people who could now see, or get up and walk after years of being in a wheelchair. One of the volunteers follows him all around Mexico as she was one of his major successes. She had been in a wheelchair for fourteen years. She had tried many treatments to no avail until seeing El Maestro.

One of the volunteers is my friend Jo Ann who relates these stories to me via email:

“A friend of Janet’s went to see the Maestro. She recently had a 10 hour operation to remove a tumor at the top of her spine. The doctors could not remove it all and recommended chemotherapy. After seeing the Maestro she experienced pain on her left side and went to the emergency room. They performed an MRI and the tumor is gone.

Or the one about Judie. She was one of the Friday wine group and makes jewelry. She’s been a bunch of times now. She had tinnitus, ringing of the ears… gone. She took her 90 some year old husband in a wheelchair and he no longer has pain in his legs and is walking…. don’t know what else. Took Margo and the pain in her shoulder (it was dislocated) is gone and she was walking. (Margo has suffered horribly for years from fibromyalgia. She has fear of falling. She can’t wait to go back again. The stories go on.

A sister of her close friend, Coleen, named Barbara who was legally blind can now thread a needle.”

I talked one of my close friends into going, even though I had a ride from someone in La Mision where I live. The van would have been a bit too full with my friend. Rocky had three different friends of his try to convince him this might be a good idea. As he is an open minded and curious sort, this appealed to him. Most people have medical or emotional issues with which they would like some assistance. So off we went at ten thirty in the morning on a Wednesday to go see a spiritual healer at La Casa Viejas in the wine valley.

It was a pleasant enough day for a trip and we made it to the event in about a half hour or so. The healer was supposed to arrive between twelve and one, but many people got there early to get into the first group. We were seated by arrival for the most part. Given slips of paper to fill out with our concerns and basic information like where we lived and our contact numbers and email addresses.

It was a well organized event with just the right amount of volunteers. Taken into the first room in a group of thirty seven people, we were treated to some testimonials by prior participants. We also got to hear about the beliefs of El Maestro such as a simple diet, no alcohol and no drugs of any kind. No eating of any meat was emphasized. He only owns two sets of clothes, simple white pants and a shirt, with a long poncho of soft beige material over his clothes. It was a somewhat chilly day in the shade. He stays with people so he does not have to own anything other than the clothing. I saw a rather simple gold ring on one hand. His hair was tied back with headbands that were embroidered in dark colors. I could not tell how long his hair might have been, but I would guess it to be of medium length and black. He wore a white scarf tied around his mouth and head.

We were sent into a nearby palapa that could seat two circles of thirty seven people. We were instructed to be patient and center ourselves around peaceful thoughts. Some talking went on before the arrival of the healer. When he appeared all went very silent. We were told he was going to come see us one by one. We were instructed to all rise and hold hands. Told to look into his eyes when he stood in front of us, but not to touch him. Our chairs were still behind us when we all arose in greeting. A spotter would stand behind each chair as he approached so we could not fall. I could not wait to be touched with his quite powerful presence of healing. I feel that his personal being is a channel to a higher power. El Maestro would look into your eyes and then most often touch the center of your chest with a somewhat forceful motion with one finger. This is to open the heart. Most people fell into their seats from the contact. If your ailment pertained to walking, then you were instructed to walk around the circle after being touched. One man came in on crutches and walked around the circle very stiffly without them. Everyone paid him the most respectful attention.

Some people cried, though not very many. I was one of those who did. I get emotional at these kind of things, even getting teary eyed in church some times. He looked into my eyes with his intense green ones. He asked me what my concerns were, and they got translated into Spanish. I wanted assistance with some uterine fibroid tumors which I have had for about ten years. Conventional medicine would have me get a hysterectomy. I also have a small lesion on the left hand side of my nose. It has been going away slowly for about four months now. He spent a good amount of time with me, even putting his hands on the front of my lower belly and chanting. I was asked by the volunteer if there was anything else and I replied that yes, I am without an income at the moment which causes a lot of stress.

We were told the healing is not always instant, that it can be a process that is now ongoing as we have encountered such a powerful healing force in the spiritual presence of Constantino. A white box was passed around the circles before we left for donations to help El Maestro with his traveling expenses and favorite charities. No suggested amount. Then we were each given a sheet of paper with simple instructions to detox our bodies for the next fifteen days. Mostly vegetables and fruit. No caffeine, alcohol, salt, sugar or refined pastas or white rice. No drugs of any kind. The kind of diet that not very many people can handle as it is so restrictive. No meat as it is aggressively procured. He lives this way all the time himself and recommends that everyone take up his principles for a less aggressive and healthier world. He is most probably correct, but the only people I know of who can follow this regime live in monasteries or spend a week at a spa to get cleansed. My point here being that when you see other people eat what they want it is much more difficult to stay on such a regime without a very strong will.

As for myself, thus far the lesion on my nose is almost completely gone. I am attributing this to the power of El Maestro as the rapidity of the healing has increased. I am going to continue to believe the fibroids are gone until I can get an ultrasound for verification. As for the lack of income, that was taken care of quite nicely the next day.

What can I say but that I am truly a believer in Constantino, El Maestro, the powerful spiritual healer. The man who has the mysterious reputation of being from nowhere.

Childhood cancer: Neuroblastoma

Neuroblastoma is a tumor of the sympathetic nervous system.

Neuroblastoma is a malignant tumor that develops from nerve cells called the sympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic nervous system is responsible, among other things, for functions such as blood pressure, heart rate, sweating, or digestion. Such a tumor is found usually in the adrenal glands and in an area adjacent to the spinal cord of nerve tissue (ganglion) to. Two-thirds of all cases of Neuroblastoma are found in children under 4 years. Mostly, it is a solid or “fixed”, not distributed in the body tumor of childhood outside of the brain and spinal cord.

The symptoms depend on the location of the tumor and are quite different.

Affected children suffer both from symptoms that are directly attributable to the tumor, as well as under the so-called general symptoms. Directly to the tumor-related complaint includes a palpable nodule (in the abdomen when the tumor is located in the adrenal gland or adjacent to the abdominal section of the spine), respiratory symptoms, coughing, and thick neck lymph nodes (if the tumor is located next to the chest part of spine), or evidence of spinal cord injury by outgrowth of the tumor in towards the spinal cord. General symptoms may appear as paleness, weight loss, fever and diarrhea. Very early in the course of the disease leads to the delocalization of daughter tumors (metastases), including in bone, liver and lymph nodes.

A comprehensive diagnosis is required.

The suspicion of the existence of a neuroblastoma arises from the typical symptoms and findings on physical examination. The diagnosis is confirmed by further investigations: blood and urine test, histological assessment of a tissue sample, X-ray of the chest, ultrasound of the abdomen, computer and magnetic resonance imaging, scintigraphy. Treatment depends on the stage of the disease. There are different chemotherapy regimens, surgery and the possibility of a bone marrow transplant into consideration.

Stages of neuroblastoma after surgery:

The Neuroblastoma is divided into a total of 6 stages, which refer to the state after an operation:

  • Stage I:) At a place of limited tumor was completely removed, as assessed by the naked eye (with or without the presence of tumor remnants in the histological examination. No presence of tumor cells in the lymph nodes.
  • Stage IIA: In a place of limited tumor which could not be completely removed, as assessed by the naked eye. No presence of tumor cells in the lymph nodes.
  • Stage IIB: In a place of limited tumor, as assessed by the naked eye could not be fully or completely removed. Presence of tumor cells in the lymph nodes, no presence of tumor cells in the lymph nodes of the other side of the body.
  • Remove no stage III: tumor to grow beyond the midline, adjacent infected lymph nodes or not infected – or at a place of limited tumor with the presence of tumor cells in the lymph nodes of the other side of the body – or in the midline lying tumor on both sides and can not be removed or with the presence of tumor cells in the lymph nodes
  • Stage IV: tumor and the presence of metastases in lymph nodes, bone, bone marrow, liver and other organs.
  • Stage IVS: At a place of limited tumor of the infant with presence of metastases only in the skin, liver and / or bone marrow.

Neuroblastoma is in stage I completely curable.

The rate of long-term cure is dependent on tumor stage and decreases from about 100 percent in stage I to about 30 percent in stage IV (stage IVS: about 70 per cent).

Achieve Maximum MLM Success Through Great Website Design

MLM success is the result of multiple parts working together to achieve a goal. Whatever the goal is, the parts must coexist and enable the process to run effectively. The process is marketing and the hand off goes to sales. Both must work hand in hand in order to create a good user experience. In short, we will talk about website design and it’s time in your business. Every serious business worries about their website and for good reason. People come to the site for information or to purchase a solution. Now how can a website achieve these functions?

The website design flow and development

Any given website had to go through a planning stage. There are many areas that are necessary but if they do not add to a good user experience then it’s a wasted resource. MLM success depends on a good UX. Your site does not have to be an artistic masterpiece, but does have to flow well like a symphony. The wrong layout or cluttering of content distracts and fractures the user experience. Be careful and only use what is needed on a given page. Design every page carefully and with the intent that it leads to another page on your site.

Website pages require navigation, some text and graphics in its barest nature. There will be times when the core nature will deviant and the pages may be specialized like product or gallery pages. Always define the sole purpose of the given page before designing it online. Every page is different but it must flow with the bigger picture. You are trying to achieve a result. Whatever the goal is, it should be made clear on the individual pages. This helps with the user experience.

Setting the stage for success

Website development is difficult to say the least. In order to set the stage for MLM success, your game plan needs to be effective. Every page you design must flow well and drive action from the visitor. This is accomplished by creating the pages and measuring the data. You can then use this data to improve the webpage itself. It’s not a perfect system, but testing the pages and collecting data is very important for the business. There could be harmful errors that are preventing your page from converting visitors into leads. Overtime if your page is left unchecked you could be missing out on a passive income. This means a loss of income for you and a struggling budget for other business needs.

How Is A Bone Re-Broken?

Bone fractures are one of the most common injuries that people have. Accidents that cause huge impacts on the body may cause your bones to be broken by force. Another common cause is the over usage of one part of the body. For instance, if you always use your wrists excessively every day, there is a possibility of breaking them if you are not careful.

When your bone is broken and not maintained correctly, there will be a chance that your bone will need to be re-broken. However, this will depend on what kind of injury you have. This procedure is quite challenging therefore your physician needs to be someone who has a lot of experiences doing this kind of treatment. Why is it done? Basically, it needs to be done make sure that the bones reset correctly when they heal. You should know that the bones heal by themselves. You do not necessarily need medications for you bones to regenerate. However, if your bones were healed but the alignment is not correct, the doctor has no choice but to break them again and let them heal in the correct alignment.

A lot of people are afraid of the procedure because they think that it is very painful. It is, in fact, painful but not as painful as the first time you broke it. Your doctor will not administer the treatment without giving you anesthesia. He will make sure that the pain you will feel is only the slightest possible. Therefore, you should not be too afraid. You just have to bear in mind that you need it in order to keep the health and form of your bone.

If you want to know how the bone is re-broken, it is best if you ask your doctor directly. The process is very complicated and only experts can explain it in a very detailed and educational way. Here is the basic procedure though. First, the doctor will examine your bone. If he detects deformity, he will tell you to undergo the process. Second, he will you anesthesia to numb the area for you to avoid feeling the pain. Third, the doctor will gently break the bone. No force will be used for this. Instead, the doctor will manipulate the tissues with the power saw. For areas with very small nerve fibers, they will have to use special medical scissors to make more accurate cuts.

As you can notice, the medical procedure is rally complicated on its own. Only experts can administer it. The doctor needs to be very knowledgeable with bones. It is best if you consult your osteopath beforehand to know what exactly you need to prepare before the treatment. You should also ask him what you need to do after the treatment to make sure that the bones will heal correctly this time. When your bones heal, consult your doctor, osteopath or physiotherapist to learn how to maintain the ongoing strength on your bones.

Diagnose and Treatment for Pneumonia

Pneumonia is the infection and inflammation of the small alveolus inside the lungs and of the surrounding tissues. Pneumonia can be a cause of death for persons with additional chronic conditions and to pneumonia sufferers in developing countries. Pneumonia cases occurred inside the community are usually caused by the germ Streptococcus Pneumoniae, while pneumonias appeared in hospitals or institutions are mostly caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella or Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The severity of the symptoms and the required treatment depend a great deal on the type of the causing agent.

A series of factors can expose and predispose certain persons to developing pneumonia. Some medications, the age of the subject or some diseases can lead to the deprimation of the immune system and increase the susceptibility to pneumonia caused by abnormal microorganisms. Other conditions like alcoholism, smoking, diabetes, heart failure also predispose to pneumonia as well as extreme ages, debilitation, paralyzes or unconscious estates.

Pneumonia can appear after direct inhalation of infectious agents like bacteria, viruses or fungi or after the migration of the infection with the bloodstream from the initial localization. Pneumonia can occur after surgical interventions, after injuries especially chest injuries when the patient is unable to cough and mucus retention is possible. The aspiration pneumonia appears when different food, liquid or dust particles are inhaled from the mouth or when a bacterium is stuck inside the respiratory tract due to an obstruction.

The primer symptom of pneumonia is productive cough resulting in different amounts of mucus. Additional symptoms might be fever, chills, chest pains and breathing shortness. Auditory, pneumonia can be detected by the doctor listening to the patient’s lungs with a stethoscope. Pneumonia produces particular sounds caused by the presence of inflammatory cells inside the air tubes usually filled with air. A certain diagnose can be established with a chest X-ray that shows usually a dense white patch in place of the involved tissue. Pneumonia diagnose can also be established by help of sputum and blood specimen culture.

Some types of pneumonia can be prevented by vaccination against the Influenza virus and against the bacterium Haemophillus Influenzae. Persons at high risk of developing pneumonia can prevent it by making physical exercises and breathing exercises to fasten the clearance of the secretions.

Bacterial pneumonia is treated with antibiotics and the medication is started even before the exact agent is identified in order to prevent possible complications. Some patients with breathing difficulties require additional oxygen and assisted breathing. Low severity cases can be treated at home by oral medication but more severe symptoms make hospitalization necessary and the intravenous administration of antibiotics.

Antibiotics have no benefic effect on pneumonias caused by viruses or fungi.

3 Simple Questions to Get an Appointment Every Time

When most professionals think of sales scripts, thoughts start running wild of how you will “convince” someone to invest in your product or service. This often puts people in a constant state of paralysis to learn as many of the products or features so they won’t get stumped when the customer asks a question.

Instead of learning countless (and futile) details about what you are selling, I invite you to consider a different approach. This approach won’t have you going to meetings to find out the smallest details of your competition compared with your company because none of that is necessary when you want to close serious business!

The reality is you can’t “sell” anybody anything they don’t really need or want. Even when you do accomplish the feat of selling ice to Eskimos it’s highly unlikely they will ever be very happy with your product. Consider the following three methods to asking powerful questions that will get you the appointment every time.

Question 1 – Getting Your First Yes

In order to get your foot in the door (or to even get the customer to come to you) requires that you get put the customer at ease with simple questions that they would be crazy not to agree with. For example, if you were selling copiers, then your first question to a small business owner might be: “Are you currently using a copier in your office?”.

With the needs of most any sized business, this is a definite yes. Even offices with 1-2 people have a small copier. Regardless of your industry, your first question just needs to be an obvious one that doesn’t really qualify the prospect, but rather get’s them in the mode of agreeing with you.

Getting your first “yes” is key to getting starting your conversation off right and putting you in control as the interviewer.

Question 2 – Transition and Getting Your 2nd Yes

Most professionals whether they are selling products or services ask only a single question and then go into “pitch” mode about what they are selling. This is a sure fire way to get your prospect to stop listening and might even have you listening to a dial tone. To get closer to an appointment requires asking yet another question where you will get a “yes” over 90% of the time.

For example, to use the copier example again, your second question and transition would look like “That’s great that you have a copier currently in your office. Would it help your business if you could save 15% monthly on your expenses?”.

A business owner who doesn’t want to save money is a waste of your time. This 2nd question should yield a 100% success rate for those that are worthy of your third question.

Question 3 – Getting a No

It is important not to get too anxious at this point as your third question is where the rubber meets the road. (Note that you still haven’t mentioned your product or service, no pitching!) Your third question should result in a “no” which will give you the opportunity to provide value.

To continue with the copier example, you could ask “That’s great, since saving money would help you, has anyone ever taken the time to look at all of your expenses to see how you could save money monthly?”

For 85%+ of business owners this would be a resounding “no”. Even their accountant barely looks at what they do each month. Take special attention that you still haven’t mentioned that you do copiers yet as it really isn’t that important to getting the appointment.

Provide Value

Now, that you have received “no”, it is time to offer value. It’s a simple transition that will get you an appointment every time. Your transition, works like the following.

“Since you are interested in saving money, and no one has taken the time to do that for you, I would be happy to come in and spend just 40 minutes to see how I could help to save you money. Would a Tuesday at 3pm work better or maybe a Thursday at 10am?”

Regardless of whether you are selling copiers, real estate, or even a service, following this format will get you more appointments from your calls.
