How to Design Physical Therapy Flooring For Comfort

Designing your physical therapy flooring can be a fun project when you are starting out or remodeling your place.

Most gyms have hardwood floors or concrete floors that are unsafe and uncomfortable for those who have physical limitations.

Here are a few tips to help design the best flooring for comfort when performing physical therapy for yourself or rehabilitation clients.

Tip #1

Physical therapy flooring should be thick to absorb impact from falls. Patients who are recovering may occasionally fall and need a cushioned surface that will prevent further injuries.

One option is rubber floor tiles that come in thicknesses of 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inches. Choosing a thicker density to lay under your work benches and around other equipment can prevent serious injuries from falls.

In bathrooms and areas where clients may have to change clothing, rubber flooring tiles will provide cushioning if a client accidentally falls.

Tip #2

Use rubber flooring mats. Commercial therapy gym flooring rubber mats have anti-slip properties. This helps keep sweat and spills from creating a slick spot which can very easily lead to a fall.

These mats are interlocking tiles that not only look great but provide safety as well. Extremely easy to install, the rubber mats are designed to be installed without adhesive and come in 5 standard colors: Solid Black, Grey, Blue, Tan or Red Speck.

You can even make your own design since the tiles are available in border tiles, center tiles can corner tiles.

Tip #3

Design your flooring so that it flows well. Place rubber floor mats underneath and around all equipment while leaving the walking area covered in smooth surfaces such as wood or laminate flooring.

Have rubber floor tiles in areas where floor therapy will be done. This provides a soft surface for clients to work out on. Create a smooth transition from the wood floor to the rubber flooring with tiles that gradually slope up.

Tip #4

Therapy often involves working with clients who are unstable or may have vision problems. Design your flooring with a unique color design to help them distinguish between areas.

Create a border around the workout stations by using a different color. You can even have custom logos printed into the rubber tiles. You can them have these tiles placed in prominent areas.

Designing your physical therapy rubber flooring should take in the needs and comfort of those who will be using the area. Safety and comfort will provide your clients a better sense of security during a time of recovery.

Preventing Kidney Stones After Kidney Stone Surgery

It is a well-documented fact that even after surgical removal of kidney stones, up to 50% of patients may have recurrence within 5 years. Therefore, some preventive measures must be taken in order to avoid kidney stones in the future.
In the longer term, a daily urine output of at least 2 liters is advisable in all patients with stone disease. Fluid intake should therefore be about 3 liters per day—more if the climate or the patient’s occupation causes much sweating. Suitable measures should be implied to correct any known cause of stone formation. Preparations containing vitamin D must be avoided, even milk intake has to be reduced.
Idiopathic hypercalciuria can be helped by reduction of sodium intake (low salt intake) and by the use of a thiazide diuretic. Reduction of calcium intake is not recommended unless it is very high, as it may lead to a negative overall calcium balance and reduction of bone mass which ultimately makes bones weaker, also reduction of calcium intake causes increased oxalate absorption and excretion.
Citrate excretion can be increased by daily administration of potassium nitrate or potassium bicarbonate. Alternatively, lemon juice may be a very good dietary source. Hypokalemia should be prevented as it leads to a reduction in citrate excretion.
In patients with recurrent oxalate stones, foods and some liquids rich in this salt, such as rhubarb, spinach, tomatoes, strawberries, chocolate and tea, should be avoided. Persons who have passed several uric acid or urate stones benefit from allopurinol, 100-300 mg daily, depending on renal function. Allopurinol also has a place in treating calcium oxalate stone disease, since urates may contribute by acting as a nidus (nest) for stone formation.
Phosphate-containing calculi are formed only in alkaline urine; hence acidifying the urine by giving ammonium chloride may be effective. In contrast, cystine and urate stones may be prevented or sometimes dissolved, by giving sufficient sodium bicarbonate to make the urine persistently alkaline, and ensuring a high urine output of 2-4 liters/day. When these measures fail or are unacceptable to the patient, treatment with D-penicillamine, a chelating agent, in a dose of 1-1.5 gram daily may be tried, although it is frequently associated with significant side effects.
In case of struvite stones, which are actually magnesium-ammonium-phosphate stones and quite common in women with recurrent urinary tract infections, protease inhibitors are advised. Frequently, struvite stones are large staghorn calculi, and urine pH is high. These stones are formed due to infection with urease producing organisms such as Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas, Klebsiella, Staphylococcus and Mycoplasma but not E. coli. Therefore, struvite stones are also called as Infection stones.

Mechanism of Effective Letter Writing

The need and demand to write effective letters has existed for long as a means of communication between two individuals. It holds a key importance in all aspects of life including social, personal, and professional.

However, in the present days, the importance of letters has been overpowered by the electronic media including phones, mobiles, and emails. These medium do not actually require writing a letter to put across an individual’s point of view but even then it is believed that the impact an effective letter can generate is unique in its own way.

If anyone wishes to streamline their communication and put across their point of view, then no electronic media can dominate the power of an effective and well-constructed letter.

Initiating the letter is the most challenging thing. Many people are often confused how to start the letter and some are paralyzed at the prospect of having to fill the sheet. After that another important tip to start effective letter writing is to draft a letter. Drafting is a rough sheet or an early version of the actual writing piece. In the sheet the individual can write all the words and sentences that come to his or her mind and then form a rough piece of the final letter. Write and re-write again and again so as to get a final edited version. Then, it is important that the writer knows the purpose of the letter that should be clear, precise, and effective. The purpose of the letter should be in the mind of the writer and should be presented in a way that it potentially reaches the mind of the reader.

Then another important aspect is the type of content. The content should be well organized in a form of effective paragraphs. The paragraph should be short and precise with simple and contemporary language. The spellings and grammar should also be checked again and again with utmost care. Vocabulary should also be within the experiential domain that the readers can easily understand. Use of language should be in accordance to the type of letter. For business letters, usage of formal language is appropriate with catchy headlines in order to draw the attention of potential reader.

Then, another important aspect is the length of the letter. In the busy lifestyle today, people don’t prefer reading long letters. So, the content should be brief and explanative, whilst putting across the actual point of view or the purpose of the letter. Some even put bullets in official letters to put across some important points in a precise and straightforward manner.

The letter should be ended with a clear conclusion or an ending statement. When the final copy is ready, read the letter twice or thrice to check out few errors and then rectify those effectively.

Can Ultrasound Help Fight Trigeminal Neuralgia and Facial Pain?

Ultrasound is a fantastic technology, helping us achieve many things. Traditionally, ultrasound has been used for scanning the body with short, high intensity waves to let us see ailments in the body, and to check babies etc during pregnancy. Recently, innovative companies have made some breakthrough advances in the usage of ultrasound and delivery of it. They are tiny devices, similar to an iPod, and similar in size to a tens machine.

How can these ultrasound devices help me, and my quest for pain relief?

These devices change the way ultrasound waves are delivered to the body compared to a traditional ultrasound device; much lower intensity ultrasound, delivered through pads to the body, means that these devices can be used for prolonged periods for long-term pain relief. They can be worn overnight with an innovative head strap, to relieve facial pain whilst you sleep, and let you get some good quality rest.

Test have even shown that people suffering from pain for years, can be totally pain free within a few months.

It is being branded as portable ultrasound… similar to an iPod, you can use it any time, any place… at work… whenever you need pain relief. It allows for real targeted relief, increases blood circulation in the area.

Another huge benefit of these devices, is that it is proven to help accelerate wound healing. This is fantastic for those with diabetes and other illnesses that weaken your natural immune system.

The devices have been proven to help with tendon injuries, muscular injuries, and post operative pain relief and are worth investigating for these ailments.

What are the advantages over existing treatment alternatives?

  • Treatment allows reduction in usage of traditional medication and removes associated adverse effects from the drugs.
  • The reusable treatment patch that is usually supplied, is applied to a bony surface in the face (when treating facial neuralgia), allowing the surface acoustic ultrasound waves to travel across the whole skull of the patient and carry relief to the root of the trigeminal nerve and promote healing of the nerve tissue (although this is currently under clinical research for further proof).
  • No limitation in the duration of treatment and delivery of the ultrasound, unlike traditional high intensity ultrasound, which can usually only be used for 10 minutes at a time.
  • This ‘slow release ultrasound treatment’ has been claimed to help many people avoid the trauma of surgical intervention to try and relieve the pain associated with Trigeminal Neuralgia (facial pain).

Constipation and High Blood Sugar

Most people experience constipation at some point in their life. They make a note to eat more fiber and expect everything to go back to normal in a day or two. Luckily, for the better percentage of those inflicted, this method works. Not so lucky are the ones who are battling something much more serious than the occasional bout of constipation.

Constipation is a condition that can be very difficult to find the originating cause. There are so many different causes, from medicines to lifestyle changes, that pin-pointing the true cause of the constipation can be like finding a needle in a haystack.

One potential cause that medical experts are looking very closely at is the relation of high blood sugar and constipation. What effect does blood sugar have on the digestive system? Are diabetics at higher risk for constipation?

As it turns out, diabetics are definitely more at risk of experiencing constipation. Nearly 60% of all diabetics also suffer from constipation. Abnormal blood sugar levels can negatively affect many of the body’s systems and functions. When blood sugar levels are elevated, the nerves in the intestines that control the length of time waste stays in the body can be seriously damaged. The nerves can’t do their job properly and food waste begins to build up in the intestines. This doesn’t happen over night, of course. This condition affects type 1 diabetics who have been using insulin for a number of years.

Another disastrous effect high blood sugar has on the gastrointestinal system is Gastroparesis. Gastroparesis is when nerves in the stomach are damaged to the point that they can no longer work properly. The stomach doesn’t know when to send the food through the digestive tract. Up to 75% of diabetics also have Gastroparesis.

How Does High Blood Sugar Damage the Nerves of the Intestine?
High blood sugar damages the actual blood vessels that carry oxygen and essential nutrients to the nerves of the stomach and intestine, or the vagus nerves. With the necessary nutrients and oxygen severely reduced, or stopped from reaching the vagus nerves, the digestive system goes into a state of shock. The food waste backs up and it can cause terrible complications.

The difference between Gastroparesis and constipation is that with Gastroparesis, food waste gets stuck in or near the stomach, and in constipation the waste builds up in the small intestine. How can one tell a difference? Here are some of the symptoms of Gastroparesis:

  • Vomiting of undigested food
  • Bloating and loss of appetite
  • Heartburn, acid reflux and nausea
  • Dehydration
  • Weight loss and stomach spasms

Gastroparesis can be a chronic condition and in severe cases require surgery to remedy.

Constipation can be diagnosed in a patient exhibiting the following signs:

  • No bowel movements for 3 consecutive days
  • Hard stools 25% of the time during bowel movements
  • Straining at 25% of bowel movements
  • Have two or less bowel movements per week

Treat the Cause, not the Symptom
It’s important to understand that constipation is a symptom and not the disease. By that, I mean there must be an underlying reason for the constipation. In this case, it’s the high blood sugar level that’s causing the constipation, not the other way around. You need to treat the cause to remedy the symptom. Treat the high blood sugar and your chances of experiencing constipation will decrease.

Constipation, while very dangerous if left untreated, is usually an easy condition to get rid of. Eating a healthier diet, with more fiber and water can greatly reduce the chances of constipation. Exercise can also have a great impact on keeping a healthy digestive tract. With both conditions, the key is to control your blood sugar levels. Healthy diets, exercise and water can help keep blood sugar levels closer to a normal level, but of course diabetics may still require assistance in controlling their sugar levels.

The New England Journal of Medicine did a study of class 2 diabetics and the effects that eating a high fiber diet can have on blood sugar levels. There were 2 groups of participants. In the first group, they were instructed to follow a diet that included 24 grams of fiber per day for six weeks. The second group did the same thing, but had to have 50 grams of fiber per day. After six weeks, the two groups switched diet regimens and followed that diet for six more weeks. It was found that when both groups were on the higher fiber diet, their blood sugar levels were lowered by 10%.

If you are diabetic and you are suffering from severe constipation, it’s time to get your blood sugar tested. The longer you wait, the more serious it can become.

Coughing Acid Reflux – What it is and How to Treat It

If you experience persistent, dry coughing, coughing acid reflux is one possible cause of the problem.  This might come as a surprise to you, since you may not experience all of the typical symptoms of this disease, which include heartburn, regurgitation, hoarseness, sore throat, bad breath, and a sensation of having food stuck in the throat.  If you experience few or none of these symptoms, you might be wondering how it’s possible that your coughing could be related to acid reflux.  First, it might be helpful to understand the causes and mechanisms of this disease.

This disease occurs when food and stomach acid are regurgitated from the stomach back through the esophagus.  The esophagus is the tube that travels from your mouth to your stomach, and there is muscle where the esophagus meets the stomach called the lower esophageal sphincter, or LES.  The job of the LES is to serve as a one-way valve that lets food into the stomach, and then closes so that food can’t travel back into the esophagus.  Reflux happens when the LES isn’t doing its job.

There are many different factors that can cause the LES to malfunction.  Whether occasional or frequent, overeating can block the LES from closing completely.  Other conditions may cause the LES to open at the wrong time.  Smoking, excessive caffeine consumption, and certain medications can also contribute.  There is not always a clear, identifiable cause in people who suffer from this disease.

Coughing and reflux go hand in hand because stomach acid that is released from the stomach may travel back through the esophagus to the throat and larynx.  In some cases the esophagus might be able to deal with this acidic assault, while the throat and larynx cannot.  It is this acid irritation that can lead to a persistent cough.

In rare cases, stomach acid can also cause the development of another type of coughing.  Coughing acid reflux can cause stomach acid to move through the throat and into the lungs.  This can result in a dry, persistent acid reflux cough that is accompanied by respiratory disorders like pneumonia or bronchitis.  This can sometimes be mistaken for asthma, and may also exacerbate symptoms in people who have already been diagnosed with asthma.

The best way to avoid coughing acid reflux is prevention.  This can be achieved by avoiding overeating, and avoiding foods that commonly cause this disease.  Some foods to avoid are anything overly greasy, carbonated drinks, chocolate, tomato sauces, garlic and onions, spicy foods, and acidic foods like citrus fruits, for example.  In general, avoid any food that is considered a typical trigger for heartburn.

Eating frequent, small meals, as well as using loose-fitting clothing can also help relieve acid reflux coughing.  These strategies help prevent putting too much pressure on the LES that may cause it to fail to close completely. Reflux cough can also be controlled by using over the counter medications that work by either neutralizing stomach acid, or by decreasing production of stomach acid.

If dietary modification and over the counter medicines don’t work to alleviate your dry cough, you should see your doctor for a definitive diagnosis and long term treatment plan. Coughing acid reflux can be treated before developing into a more serious condition.

Blood Poisoning Symptoms

anticoagulant poison that extended the blood clotting period by depleting vitamin K inside rat body. This type is available in the market with a trademark name like warfarin, fumarin, diphacinone and bromadiolone.

Speaking of skin, the development of a rash is one of the first symptoms of dog poisoning.  The rash occurs when toxins enter through the skin and are absorbed in the bloodstream.  However, sometimes a rash can form because of dermatitis or another skin condition.

Specifically, they are lacking the liver enzyme glucuronyl transferase. This enzyme breaks down drugs so they can be metabolized. Without it, ingesting certain drugs can lead to the accumulation of dangerous substances in the animal that are left behind when the drugs are metabolized.

However, there are preventative measures that can be taken to prevent over exposure and detoxify our bodies and purge toxins and impurities from our system, including arsenic. Foods we eat are a source for arsenic removal, those that are sulfur based. These foods include onions, garlic, eggs, legumes and beans. Herbal teas are another great source for detoxification and removal of toxins.

For a contact poisoning, you must completely wash off any poison. Do this by flushing the area that came in contact with the poison for 30 minutes with large amounts of water. Then, give your Yorkie a complete bath with lukewarm water. Even if the substance your Yorkie came into contact with is not skin-irritating, you still must completely wash the area – your Yorkie could lick the area an ingest some of the poison.

While arsenic poisoning is characterized by several noticeable symptoms, it can be difficult to diagnose, especially if the victim is not aware that he or she may have been exposed to arsenic. The symptoms of arsenic exposure are similar to those of other illnesses and diseases and can be easily mistaken for signs of a different ailment.

This disease most associated with babies present these symptoms; Refusal to feed, vomiting, fever, moaning cry, Pale skin, rapid breathing and so on. Severe headache, fever, aversion to bright light is more symptoms presented in some adults and in severe cases unconsciousness.

The first thing to do is understand that the bacteria that causes food poisoning needs warmth. So keeping your foods at the appropriate temperatures will help a lot. That means when you are buying the food, bringing it home, storing it, cooking it, and eating it.

The time that passes between the food consuption and the actual presence of the virus, is known as the incubation period. During this period microbes are passed through the stomach and into the intestine where they attach the cells that line the intestinal wall. They then being to multiply.

You become infected with food poisoning when you eat food that has been contaminated by an attacking microorganism. Certain strands of bacteria, viruses, and even parasites may cause this illness. These dangerous microbes, often found in animal feces, may come into contact with and infect food during just about any stage of packaging and processing.

5 Warning Symptoms of High Blood Sugar

The classic symptoms of high blood sugar are classified under the domain of unlucky persons termed diabetics. This chronic ailment can be further characterized into type 2 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes. However the symptoms of high blood glucose level remain same in all the categories of diabetes. All those who ever had experienced signs of high blood sugar will find nothing new in this article; however a little bit more clarification.

All those who are at an increased risk of diabetics, because of the family history or because of their inactive lifestyle, must read through the following passages. The following reading may help you to understand the symptoms of high blood sugar and lead you to go for a diabetes screening test.

The diabetes screening tests are quick, inexpensive and painless; so there is nothing that one should worry about. Above all the diabetes screening test and timely diagnosis of the problem will help you in saving lot of troubles in near future. Let’s check the signs of high blood sugar. These main symptoms of high glucose levels are real alarming bells and one must learn to listen to these sign.

Tingling and numbness sensation in hands and feet is a top warning symptom of high glucose. This sounds ridiculous but this sensation is more like feeling of heart beat in hands or feet. The teeth of the diabetic person remain sticky in spite of thorough cleaning and proper brushing. The reason behind this is excessive circulation of sugar in blood that is then poured in the mouth along with saliva.

The diabetic may feel a tingling sensation around the eyelids. This again is directly linked with excessive level of increased blood sugar flowing in the system. This increased level of glucose is finding their way everywhere. The next alarming symptom of high blood sugar is slow and poor healing of infection and wounds. The density of the blood of the diabetic person increases; so the smaller capillaries that are closer to the surface of the skin find it difficult to receive fresh blood. The result is that healing of the skin is hampered. Small wounds and cuts at the feet of the diabetics take a longer healing time. In severe case it may even lead to amputation and gangrene.

Another classic symptom of high glucose levels is unquenchable thirst. This is an obvious and a notable symptom of all others. This is not simply a requirement of an extra one or two glasses of water like a normal person feels on a hot day. Rather this is an exaggerated version of this. Diabetics feel a nonstop urge of liquids throughout the day and night that do not have any bounds.

Obesity and Overweight – They Don’t Mean the Same Thing

In order to explain why been overweight and be obese are different, I must start defining these terms.

The medical community defines overweight as an excess about of body weight.

However, this includes: fat, muscle, bones and water.

While obesity is defined as an excess amount of body fat.

So, as you can see, overweight not always means an unhealthy person, or even a weight problem.

For example, an athlete who has a large amount of muscle mass, as a wrestler, a football player, a weight lifter, all of them can be overweight in a healthy manner, and they are not obese.

So, we need to understand than obesity isn’t a cosmetic problem, it’s a health problem, a serious one, even for children.

Being obese all your body must work harder in order to carry the extra pounds of body fat. This includes your lungs, heart, kidney and skeleton.

I remember when I was pregnant; to carry anything more than my own body (as groceries bags) was almost a torture: my feet and knees hurt me, my heart bit increase, I feel exhausted very fast, and my own consolation was thinking all these will finish in a few months, but just think about carry all that weight permanently!

Some health problems related to obesity are:

Heart diseases

Respiratory problems

Psychological and social negative effects

Menstrual irregularities

Pregnancy complications

Now that we see some of the main health problems related with been obese, I will tell you good news: Even a small reduction on your weight can improve many of the health problems you already suffer.

People usually use Overweight and Obese as synonymous, but actually they’re not having the same signification. One means a health problem, the other maybe not…

Maybe you feel terrible when you see your own image on a mirror, but that mirror didn’t reflect the real problem, the real problem it’s inside of you.

Psoriasis And Parasites – Is There A Connection?

First off, parasites are a fact of life since the beginning of mankind. That is how I made the connection between Psoriasis of biblical times and today, and more so since WWII because of the amplitude of processed foods (when govt. made it easier and cheaper for families to feed themselves).

As I once said, your intestines provide the perfect breeding ground for parasites, who enjoy making their little homes nestled within impacted waste as well as in the linings of your colon walls.

Following tons of research, parasites primarily consist of three major groups; simple-cell organism, roundworms, and tapeworms.

The ones that are common to North America, range from microscopic protozoans and Cyclospora cayetanensis – sometimes called the yuppie disease because of US outbreaks resulting from fecally – contaminated imported raspberries – to macroscopic multi-cellular worms and nematodes such as hookworms, pinworms, and whipworms.

While they are fond of the colon, they can be found in just about any part of your body, especially the liver.

There are more than 100 different types of parasites who enjoy living inside human beings, and to this day, it’s still impossible to identify every kind of parasites. It would be too costly. These parasites existed many thousands of years ago, just as they exist today. Do you begin to see a connection between Psoriasis of today and Psoriasis of yesteryears.? Let’s keep going.

Although you can be infected without symptoms, I thought I’d let you know some of the more common symptoms:

Allergies to many different types of foods, anemia (low red blood count), bloating, abdominal swelling, bloody stools, bouts of diarrhea, inconsistent bowel habits, flu-like symptoms (coughing, wheezing, fever), foul-smelling stools, itching around the anus (especially at night) nausea, vomiting, weight loss.

These are just some of the symptoms. HERE IS THE OTHER CONNECTION of Psoriasis some 2000 years plus ago and today. How Are They Transmitted?

I’ll cut this part short just so that you understand with a little more emphasis on one way. You’ll recognize it. Some are air-borne viruses, bacteria, and fungi. They are inhaled. Some parasite diseases (noticed they are not named) are associated with bat dung (used in fertilizers), dust, and rodent feces.

Except for the fertilizers, the rest all existed in biblical times. Pets and other animals, such as beef and swine. Cats, dogs, and blood sucking insects. They existed as well. But here comes the most two common ways; Drinking Water and Food.

Drinking water then and now, becomes contaminated with fecal material from infected persons. This can be found in both running streams and tap water in many large North American cities served by surface water treatment plants. Drinking water always existed, more infected then by fecal matter in the streams obviously. But, one of the most common ways of contracting a parasite infection, and remember, according to the experts it is unavoidable, is through food intake.

Unless properly washed, vegetables grown on farms fertilized with infected human waste can transmit the egg of various parasites. Food then, was just as infected as it is today. Probably more so, but what makes the difference as to why Psoriasis is more rampant today is, the sheer volume of population and demand. I could go on, and on, and on. But I think you get the point.

Oh, I wanted to touch on the age groups affected, but this would be much too long. Take my word that it began to increase dramatically after the Second World War. All those born between 1945 and 1965 are the most affected.

NOW HERE IS MY LAST QUERY TO YOU. Seeing that you were probably never told to clean out your system, can you assume that you are infested? You’re damn right you are. Don’t you think it would be wise to do a colon cleanse to clean out your parasite infested colon? And, don’t you think that it would be wise that your colon cleanse be followed by a liver cleanse? Absolutely if you want to cure Psoriasis, then and now!

Actually, since I was never told by my dermatologist, or any doctor, or my parents for that matter to clean out my colon, I had to research hard on this and come to my own conclusions about Psoriasis which is now supported by many experts. Psoriasis and probably most all diseases are caused by parasites, some known and many more unknown.

I hope all of the above has really sunken in for Psoriasis sufferers…

How to Get the Best Effect From Ringworm Creams

About 20% of the people will get ringworm at one point in their lives. It is an extremely infectious fungal problem that thrives in the summer. The symptoms of this problem vary depending on where the infection is. Often, it causes circular rashes with raised, red edges and healthy skin in the middle. The infection can also appear on the groin (as jock itch), on the nails, on the feet (as athlete’s foot), and on the scalp. Some of these infections are harder to treat than others, but good hygiene and ringworm creams can cure most of them.

Topical anti-fungal treatments can be found over-the-counter. Your doctor can prescribe stronger variants. In cases wherein the ringworm is particularly severe, which is often the case with infections of the scalp or nails, oral medication may be prescribed.

To make sure that the ringworm infection is completely cured, you must learn how to apply the treatment properly. Most of the anti-fungal creams have instructions included, but here are some basic steps that will help you.

1. Buy the right kind of anti-fungal cream. Some of them are formulated to help you with all kinds of fungus, while others were created for specific strains. Make sure that the kind you are buying is effective against ringworm. These often have ingredients like Miconazole, Clotrimazole, Ketoconazole, Terbinafine and Clotrimazole with Betamethasone.

2. Find out how often you should use the ringworm cream. Most over-the-counter treatments should be used twice a day, while others specify that it should be applies in the morning and in the evening. Stronger kinds may only need to be used once a day. The package of the cream contains this information, or it may be included in your prescription. This depends on how strong the formulation of the cream is, and it is very important to prevent side effects and cure the problem.

3. Clean the infected area. Some people cover the infected area with bandages and gauze to prevent spreading the ringworm. If you do so, remove any covering and wash the rash with soap and water. Afterwards, pat it dry so that the cream can be absorbed properly. This step ensures that the treatment gets in contact with the fungus, and is not contaminated with dirt and sweat.

4. Wash your hands before and after applying the cream. Again, this makes sure that you apply the cream without any contaminants.

5. Apply a thin layer of the ringworm cream on the infected area and surrounding areas to prevent the rash from growing. What looks like healthy skin may already be infected, and just asymptomatic. The cream should extend beyond the rash by about four to six centimeters in diameter.

6. Allow the cream to dry so that the cream is fully absorbed. Do not cover the area if the cream is still moist. If you use a bandage, make sure it is clean and dry because the fungi thrive in warm, wet places.

7. Repeat this treatment as often as prescribed. Most over-the-counter products should be used for two to four weeks, while prescription medication may have shorter cycles.

8. Even if the symptoms already disappeared, keep using the product for at least a week after. If no visible change has happened after a week of treatment, it would be best to consult a doctor. In case of allergic reactions, such as excessive redness, itchiness, or burning, stop treatment and talk to a doctor.

While undergoing treatment, make sure to prevent spreading the infection to other parts of the body. Wash clothes and beddings in a bleach solution. If possible, try to trace where the infection came from. This is commonly common showers and bathrooms, the beach, public pool, or the gym.

Try to change your routine to prevent getting the ringworm again. Wear shoes or flip-flops in communal showers, bathrooms, and on the beach. If you use gym equipment with padding, make sure it is dry and free of others’ sweat before using. Refrain from borrowing other people’s clothes and always wash clothes you just bought.

Are you considering using the Rodan and Fields Anti Age Regimen? If so, you’re like millions of other women and men wanting to find non-invasive ways to keep your skin looking youthful and luminous without having to go under the knife.

Here, I’ll review the Anti Age Regimen product, but first let’s get into the history of the company and products so you know what to expect from the company and the product results.

Doctors Rodan and Fields are the creators of Proactiv®, which has been the worlds leading acne solution. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve most definitely seen Proactiv in infomercials, mall kiosks and magazine inserts. There are even celebrities endorsing it today.

The Doctors changed the way skincare solutions were marketed and brought to the marketplace with a specific level of product expectations, and guarantees in regards to how a product works.

The Rodan and Fields Dermatologists skin care line started out in high-end retail and became the #1 clinical skin care line in Nordstrom in 2007. After evaluating their clientele’s reason for purchasing the product, they realized it was all due to word of mouth. So, they took a serious look into direct sales.

In January 2009, the Doctors pulled out of high-end retail and went into direct sales. Rodan and Fields wanted to offer independent business ownership to entrepreneurs. That decision has positively affected several thousand peoples lives.

The same goes for their new skincare line, Rodan and Fields Dermatologists and more specifically the Anti Age Regimen. What the Doctors did for acne, they are doing for aging skin with the Rodan and Fields Dermatologists Anti Age Regimen.

The doctors believe in a multi-med® therapy which means, the right ingredients in the right order. Product users should not expect the products to work as expected unless they use all of the products in the regimen. There are add-ons, however the basics still apply; use them all as directed and you can expect to see results in a few weeks to a few months — and the results just continue improving. If you decide you don’t like them, have an allergic reaction, or just don’t want them, the company offers a full 60-day, empty bottle money back guarantee. As a customer, you revive full access to a dermatology nurse to assist you in creating the perfect prescription for your skin — without the prescription!

The Rodan and Fields Anti Age Regimen was created to combat wrinkles, pores and loss of firmness. The regimen comes with four products;

1. Face wash

2. Toner (they call this ‘spanks for pores’)

3. Night cream

4. Day cream with SPF.

Prices ranges from $193, however when you become a preferred customer, you can receive free shipping and a 10% discount on product!

Add-ons in the system include products like the eye cream, the anti-age eye/make-up removing clothes, and the little darling and award-winning product of the Rodan and Fields Anti Age product line AMP MD (which rivals or beats invasive in-office procedures).

The Rodan and Fields Anti Age regimen product line has been featured in several major health and beauty magazines and is adored by beauty editors. The Doctors and the company have proven to the world that the products they bring to the market place, do what they say they are going to do. These products literally take years off of the users skin, creating a more luminous, uplifted and smooth appearance. So much so that people will likely ask you what you are doing different because your skin look so vibrant and stunning.

This is possibly the last stop you’ll ever make in your search for the perfect skin care regimen. The Rodan and Fields Anti Age Regimen is not just another product to add to your medicine cabinet, which is already full of hundreds if not thousands of dollars of unmet promises.

Ways to Get Rid of Belching

Belching or burping is also medically referred as eructation or ructus. Essentially it is a process of releasing gas from the digestive tract through the mouth. A typical odor or sound may also accompany the process of gas release. Belching is a common universal phenomenon and not limited to few people with any specific disorder. Infants to older adults belch or burp to expel air that has been swallowed in excess. Belching relieves the abdomen of discomfort caused due to the excess air.

Unconscious swallowing of excess air can cause belching. So make an effort to swallow less. The causes for belching mentioned above should be avoided.

Individuals will burp due to the fact that they have swallowed air when they eat. The reason why many people swallow air is because they are simply consuming their foods and beverages too quickly. When you are eating and drinking, make sure that you take your time, don’t eat or drink extremely fast, especially when you’re eating foods that would have a unpleasing odor if you were to burp (such as Chinese food or Fritos). Also, when you drink carbonated beverages, such as beer or soda, your stomach will actually release the gas that is being produced directly from these drinks. If you don’t want to burp while on a date, try drinking tea or some other non-carbonated beverage.

Although hyper secretion of hydrochloric acid and reflux of gastric acid are the primary reasons for hyperacidity and heartburn respectively, following are some other causes of hyperacidity and heartburn. Not eating on time, eating fried and spicy food regularly, Stress, anxiety and Insomnia, Obesity, Pregnancy, Excessive smoking, drinking excessive alcohol, Wearing tight clothes.

One of the important home remedies for belching is Lemon. Drink a cup of water mixed with two tea spoons of lemon juice and small quantity of apple cider vinegar before starting meals. It smoothens the digestive process and prevents acids and unwanted gases formation.

Relax for relief. “Work to reduce your anxiety level,” recommends Dr. Talley. “Sometimes you’re swallowing air because you’re anxious.” Among the best stress relievers are regular exercise, meditation and soothing activities such as taking a hot bath.

Belching is not the simple act that many people think it is. Belching requires the coordination of several activities. The larynx must be closed-off so that any liquid or food that might return with the air from the stomach won’t get into the lungs. This is accomplished by voluntarily raising the larynx as is done when swallowing. Raising the larynx also relaxes the upper esophageal sphincter so that air can pass more easily from the esophagus into the throat.

Peppermint is a widely used herb for both medicinal and culinary purposes. Peppermint tea has long been used in treating children’s digestive problems such as colic, flatulence, and upset stomach. The oil of peppermint is used routinely in Europe as a spasmolytic, carminative, and cholagogue, with its most prevalent use in Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Some people have difficulty digesting certain foods completely. This can lead to partially digested food passing from the small intestines to the colon. There are a large number of bacteria in the colon that will readily “digest” the food further and produce gases in the process. Foods that contain certain sugars that are very difficult for most people to digest include the well-known gas-forming foods such as baked beans, lima beans and lentils. Most people also have difficulty properly digesting commonly added sweeteners such as fructose and sorbitol.
