Do you want to develop loyalty with your existing or new customers? Are your customers newbies or experienced? What type of visitors do you want for your channel? You need to answer these questions before creating unique content for your channel. Your content should be unique so that viewers could get attracted to your videos.

2. Come Up With Ideas and Concepts

The one thing that you need to start a channel on YouTube is your smartphone. Now, the next important things are concepts and ideas. The idea generation will take you some time. You can start off by putting a few dozen of ideas on a piece of paper. Now, type the titles you came up with in the YouTube search field to see what shows up. Now, you should find out what the videos lack and then fill the gap by creating new videos.

3. Keep Your Videos Short

Nowadays, viewers want to get what they want from short videos. They don’t have time to watch long, boring videos. As a general rule, videos should not be longer than 2 minutes. Keep in mind that you shouldn’t make long videos in the start. When you are just starting out, the potential viewers will click on your videos based on the title, thumbnail and the description. It shouldn’t just consist of loads of keywords that make no sense. Also, the first two lines of the description show up in the search results. So, they are more important.

6. Allow Comments

Allow your viewers to comment on your videos. They may have something to say about your videos. So, if they ask you something in the comments section, you should respond as soon as you can. The comments will also help you get feedback from your viewers so that you can improve your videos.

7. Ask For Subscriptions

At the end of each video, don’t forget to ask your viewers to subscribe. You can also use the same end slide with the word Subscribe written on it at the end of your videos. This will remind your viewers to subscribe to you.

Hopefully, you can now grow your channel as fast as possible.

Untreated Strep Throat Can Lead To Serious Complications

While sore throat is an ailment that clears on itself within a few days, strep throat often requires medical treatment with antibiotics. Physicians claim that in the absence of an appropriate medical treatment, strep throat can rapidly aggravate and lead to complications such as rheumatic fever, cardiovascular diseases or kidney affections. Before penicillin was discovered, infection with streptococcus bacteria could even cause life-threatening diseases. However, nowadays strep throat can be easily overcome with the means of specific antibiotic treatments.

It is very important to understand that sore throat and strep throat are not the same thing. Sore throat is caused by infection with viral agents and its generated symptoms are mild. By contrast, strep throat is caused by infection with group A streptococcus bacteria and its generated symptoms are usually intense. Strep throat produces symptoms such as inflammation and swelling of the throat, cough, nausea, fatigue, high fever, enlargement of the tonsils and lymph nodes. While the symptoms of sore throat usually ameliorate within a few days in the absence of medical treatment, the symptoms of strep throat intensify gradually and can persist for more than a week. In many cases, untreated strep throat can lead to tonsillitis, otitis and scarlet fever. On the premises of a weak immune system, the infection can even become systemic, affecting the body on multiple levels.

Strep throat is very contagious and it can be easily acquired in the flu seasons. Unlike in the case of sore throat, the symptoms of strep throat have a rapid onset and they are considerably more intense.

Sometimes, clinical examinations alone can distinguish between sore throat and strep throat. By measuring patients’ body temperature and by examining the aspect of the tonsils, doctors are usually able to tell whether the infection is caused by viruses or bacteria. However, strep throat can be correctly diagnosed only with the means of laboratory tests. In order to determine the nature of the infection, doctors take a sample of mucus for analysis. If the illness is indeed caused by group A streptococcus bacteria, doctors usually recommend an appropriate medical treatment with antibiotics.

Considering the fact that antibiotics can generate various side effects, physicians only prescribe these drugs when the illness is serious. If the throat inflammation doesn’t appear to be caused by infection with streptococcus bacteria, doctors usually recommend letting the illness heal naturally. If the symptoms of strep throat persist for more than a few days and appear to intensify, physicians may prescribe a treatment with penicillin or amoxicillin. These antibiotics have been successfully used to cure strep throat for decades and they are still effective in overcoming the illness in present.

The treatment with antibiotics needs to be followed for more than 10 days in order to ensure a complete recovery. It is very important to respect the doctor’s indications and to correctly follow the prescribed medical treatment. If the treatment with antibiotics is prematurely interrupted, the infection is very likely to reoccur.

Top 5 Facts About Skin Tags

Skin tags are a very common skin lesion and is basically a small section of skin that hangs from the surrounding area. They are benign lesions, so are non cancerous and rarely cause any damage, problems or discomfort. However, the most common places for skin tags are around the neck, eyelids, armpits and upper chest. Because of this you may find that your clothes rub against them regularly, and in some cases this may cause some pain and an inflammation of the area. This is still nothing to worry about but you may want to consider having skin tags removed if this is the case. They are more common in women than men and middle aged people than young people but anyone can get them.

1- A skin tag is purely skin. There is an overlap of outer skin that encases an inner layer of skin. For this reason they are rarely harmful and any paid or discomfort from skin tags is usually because they have been rubbed or irritated regularly.

2- It is most common to find skin tags around the neck, upper chest, shoulders, armpits, eyelids and the groin. Wearing a collar or walking can skin tags that are in the wrong place and this is why most people consider removal. The removal is a very simple procedure that in some cases can be completed by your physician.

3- A skin tag can be removed by using liquid nitrogen to freeze it off or through a simple surgical procedure. This procedure will only usually involve a local anesthetic to numb the area around the skin tags although depending on the place and the size of skin tags a general anesthetic may be the preferred option.

4- Skin tags are benign, meaning they are non cancerous. It is very unusual for a biopsy to be performed on skin tags but this may be an option that your physician wants to look at. A biopsy means that a small part (or the whole area) of the skin tags are sent away to the laboratory to be tested.

5- While the operation is painless and very straightforward there is no need to have skin tags removed unless they are getting rubbed or irritated on a regular basis. You should seriously consider whether it is absolutely necessary before requesting a removal.

Type 2 Diabetes – Preventing Full-Blown Diabetes in Women Following Pregnancy

Gestational or pregnancy-related diabetes raises the risk for both mother and baby developing Type 2 diabetes further down the track. In April of 2016, the Mexican Gynecology Journal reported on a study of 671 Gestational diabetes cases. Over a period of 18 years, 10.3 percent of the participants developed full-blown Type 2 diabetes. The following raised the risk…

  • age under 27 or over 35,
  • a Body Mass Index (BMI) of more than 30 (obese),
  • having high blood pressure of pregnancy,
  • insulin therapy,
  • poor blood sugar control, and
  • complications in the pregnancy other than Gestational diabetes.

1. Recommendations for age at childbearing differ. Some sources recommend 20 to 35 as ideal ages when mothers are the most healthy and have the lowest risk of producing a child with severe birth defects. Dr. Sheryl Ross, an obstetrician at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, United States, points out the rate of miscarriages is over 50 percent in women over 40. Women giving birth at ages 35 to 39 are at almost two times higher the risk of severe complications than women 20 to 24, and the risk increases more after age 40. Good health is also an important factor at any age.

2. A high BMI is a risk factor for both Type 2 and Gestational diabetes. Normalizing the BMI to between 18.5 and 24.9 lowers the risk according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States.

3. The link between high blood pressure of pregnancy and Type 2 diabetes is difficult to explain. High blood pressure, if not properly treated, can lead to preeclampsia and onto eclampsia, or seizures. How could that be related to Type 2 diabetes? Or is it some other factor is involved in both conditions? More research is needed.

4. Needing insulin is an indication diabetes diagnosed during the pregnancy is not well controlled by diet and exercise alone. Maintaining acceptable blood sugar levels by a healthful diet and lifestyle makes insulin unnecessary.

5. Poor blood sugar control could contribute directly to Type 2 diabetes. On the other hand, mothers with poor blood sugar control during the pregnancy could be maintaining a healthy lifestyle and diet after pregnancy. More work is needed to clarify the connection.

6. Could other complications of the pregnancy be caused by Gestational diabetes, or do mothers with other complications tend to have other complications as well? The answer to this question should prove an interesting and useful field of research.

5 Steps to Reverse Pcos Symptoms

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) affects 5-10 percent of pre-menopausal women, making it the most common female endocrine disorder. PCOS wreaks havoc on hormones: excessive amounts of insulin stimulate the ovaries to produce large amounts of testosterone. The result can be irregular periods and infertility, along with symptoms such as male-pattern baldness, fatigue, excess body hair, and obesity. The long term health risks for women with PCOS include diabetes and cardiovascular disease among others.

Stanford University has clearly identified the existence and effects of insulin resistance, a metabolic disorder and the major underlying cause of PCOS. Treating insulin resistance will help you to manage or reverse PCOS symptoms. Most importantly, this can be done naturally, without the use of prescription drugs.

1. Nutraceuticals: Nature’s Medicine

Metabolic change cannot be achieved with a single ingredient. But the right combination of disease specific herbs, vitamins and minerals can help restore your body’s metabolism. Minerals such as chromium, magnesium, and zinc work to control insulin and glucose levels. Vitamin C and folic acid promote a healthy circulatory system. The herbs fenugreek and milk thistle also help to control insulin and glucose levels. Guar Gum can reduce bad cholesterol and lower blood pressure. Insulite Labs’ nutraceuticals are formulated to reverse insulin resistance and PCOS.

2. Nutrition: Swap “Bad” Carbs for “Good” Carbs

All women with PCOS can benefit from adopting healthy eating habits. By eating a diet low in carbohydrates and refined sugars you can help reverse the imbalances of glucose and insulin in your body. Avoid “bad” carbohydrates like sweets, white bread, pasta and rice. Replace these with “good” carbohydrates that stabilize blood sugar like brown rice, quinoa, and whole wheat bread.

3. Exercise: Part of Your Daily Routine

Although everyone should find time to exercise, it is especially important for women with PCOS to fit some form of exercise into their daily routine. Whether it is a 20-minute walk, playing outside with your kids, or going to a Pilates class, exercise has proven to boost metabolism and burn calories which helps to control insulin levels and, in turn, results in weight loss. Exercise can also help to stave off diabetes, a health risk for women in PCOS.

4. Food Addiction: Break the Cycle

Consuming “bad” or simple carbohydrates and sugars can create a vicious cycle of ups and downs. Eating sweets and chips may give you a temporary high by causing a surge in blood sugar and serotonin, but the crash is sure to follow, leaving you craving more. By weaning yourself from simple sugars and carbohydrates and replacing them with complex carbohydrates and lean protein throughout the day you can maintain stable glucose and insulin levels and break the cycle of food addiction.

5. Find a Support Network: You Are Not Alone

You are not alone in your struggle with PCOS. There are millions of women worldwide experiencing the same symptoms and emotions. These are the women who will lift you up when you are feeling down. Visit the blogs and online communities like www.pcos.insulitelabs.com/blog. If you can’t find a support group in your area then start one and promote it online, in local newspapers, via flyers and at schools, college and health clubs. www.pcosupport.org has a state-by-state list of medical professionals who have shown a commitment to PCOS located on the PCOSA web site.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome – Ayurvedic Herbal Treatment

The wrist is surrounded by a supporting band of fibrous tissue. The tight space between this fibrous band and the wrist bone is called the carpel tunnel, through which passes the median nerve which supplies the thumb, index and middle fingers of the hand. A swelling in this fibrous tissue irritates the median nerve, causing tingling and numbness of the thumb, index and middle fingers. This condition is known as carpal tunnel syndrome. A similar but less common condition occurring in the foot is known as tarsal tunnel syndrome. A repetitive movement of the fingers from work – such as uninterrupted typing – leads to tendon inflammation which in turn causes the carpal tunnel syndrome. Obesity, pregnancy, hypothyroidism, arthritis, diabetes and trauma are also known causes of this condition. Common symptoms include numbness, tingling and pain in the fingers, which are more pronounced at night. Later symptoms include burning, cramping and weakness of the hand, and occasionally, wasting of the hand muscles.

The Ayurvedic treatment of these conditions is aimed at reducing the inflammation and swelling in the affected fibrous tissue surrounding the wrist and ankle. Medicines used to treat inflammation and swelling are: Yograj-Guggulu, Kaishor-Guggulu, Punarnavadi-Guggulu, Maha-Vat-Vidhwans-Ras, Vat-Gajankush-Ras, Dashmoolarishta, Maha-Rasnadi-Guggulu and Maha-Rasnadi-Qadha. Herbal medicines which can be used for this purpose are: Rasna (Pluchea lanceolata), Deodar (Cedrus deodara), Vishwa (Zinziber officinalis), Erandmool (Ricinus communis), Bala (Sida cordifolia), Shalparni (Desmodium gangeticum), Prushnaparni (Uraria picta), Kuchla (Strychnos nuxvomica) and Nirgundi (Vitex negundo). Vishgarbha oil and Mahanarayan oil are used for local application, followed by a steam fomentation of Dashmool-Qadha or Nirgundi-Qadha. Blood-letting with the application of leeches in the wrist or ankle area is also a good way of reducing numbness and pain, especially for patients who do not respond to other conventional treatment.

In order to reduce or correct the nerve injury, medicines like Tapyadi-Loh, Ekang-Veer-Ras, Vish-Tinduk-Vati, Yashtimadhuk (Glycerrhiza glabra), Abhrak-Bhasma and Trivang-Bhasma are used. If there is an accompanying muscular atrophy, it is treated with additional medicines like Trayodashang-Guggulu, Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus), Bala and Naagbala (Grewia hirsuta). Other conditions like obesity, arthritis and diabetes need to be treated adequately in order to get a good response in the treatment of carpal or tarsal tunnel syndrome.

Most persons affected with these conditions recover completely with appropriate treatment and adequate rest. Occupational and recreational modifications need to be made in order to avoid an aggravation or recurrence of these conditions. Periodic resting, stretching exercises, and avoiding repetitive overuse can help in preventing these conditions.

How to Be a Great Kisser

Are you a good kisser, a poor kisser or a fabulous kisser? Has anyone ever told you that you were a good kisser? Well it does take two to make it really good. First kisses are usually awkward, but further exploration of your partner’s abilities may surprise you. Kissing just to kiss is fun, but kissing because you can’t help yourself is what makes kissing so very special.

What is it that makes certain people so very kissable? There are certain things that tend to create the perfect kiss. Before anything else of importance let me say that impeccable hygiene is very important; poor oral care can ruin even the most wonderful kiss. So before you decide that it is time to make your partner crave your kisses….freshen up! Unless you have both just had a big bowl of pasta with garlic, or you’ve both had alcohol…garlic and alcohol literally kill germs in the mouth – so generally it is not offensive. Now on with what really matters…

People with fuller lips are known to be more sensual and better kissers. Full lips are supposed to signify generosity of all kinds. Full lips are also signaling that there is a rich source of love to share. Thick lips and…well you get the idea. Thin lipped people have to be more careful when kissing because they will have to open the edge of their lips before their lips meet their partner’s. This opening will assure that there is softness to the kiss. But those full lipped lovers can create kisses that are varied, quick, long, seductive, and juicy.

It seems that Angelina and Brad, for instance, both have full lips. They are two of the most passionate people on the planet. Women continue to have their lips medically plumped so that they can have lips like Angelina and other beautiful women with full large lips. Some races tend to have larger lips and other attributes. African Americans have beautiful full lips generally, as do many Mediterraneans. You can get a sense for the natural and seductive beauty of screen lovers such as Sophia Loren, Jada Pinket Smith, Rachel Welch, Hale Berry, Selma Hyak, Queen Latiffa, Penelope Cruz, and Jessica Simpson are samples of luscious lipped women. Actors with full lips include Brad Pitt, Ashton Kusher, Will Smith, James Dean,Denzel Washington, Rob Lowe, Keenu Reeves, and Paul Newman.

You might have a thin top lip and a fuller bottom lip. As long as one of the partners has fuller lips, kissing can really be an outstanding experiences. Now, this is not to say that thin lipped people, or those with average lips cannot be awesome kissers, I’m just saying that they will have to work a little harder. Thinner lips can really be exciting on different body parts.

French kissing your partner will take intimacy to a whole new level. When people use their tongues during kissing they are actually having sex. You don’t believe me do you? Well, it is true. French kissing sends signals to the brain that there is a sexual act in the making because someone has entered your body, or you are entering someone’s body. This intimate act of kissing must be avoided at all costs if you wish to keep lovemaking or sex out of the picture. French kissing can quickly raise the “heat” of the moment.

Try kissing without your tongue. Just kiss your lover’s hands, cheek, chest, ears, forehead. And then lightly kiss his/her lips, very gently at first. A gentle kiss can be very erotic. Taking a very slow approach to a kiss is also a great idea. Make your partner want the kiss before it happens, don’t just kiss quickly. Although a quick surprise on the back of the neck or the ear from behind when least expected is exciting, save those surprises while learning how to kiss someone so that they crave more.

Kissing while sitting is different than kissing while standing or lying down. Where you place your hands while kissing is also important. If you just kissed your partner and didn’t even touch any other body part the kiss would feel nearly empty and cold. But place just one finger under his or her chin, or put your arms around he or she and hold them for a moment while you look into each other’s eyes so that you get the connection first. Tilt your head slightly and steadily lean in. Try kissing very lightly several times, pull away, breathe. If you are sitting try standing, change position. If your partner takes the lead just go with it, then come back to investigate other places that appeal.

Kissing in a car is always fun because it brings back memories of times when first kisses were really special. You can’t do much other than kiss in a car so kissing while watching the sunset, the surf, or the night sky in a car is always good. So many couples never kiss body parts other than lips–that’s just a pure waste. When you look at your lover and admire he or she, what part of their body thrills you? Eyes, neck, ears, top of the breast near the clavical, man’s chest, hands, cheeks…? Kissing should include more than the lips and I’m not talking about bedroom kissing here.

Kissing is definitely a mental act as well as a physical act. Where does your mind go when you are kissing your lover? Have you ever noticed that you are turned on by a certain type of kiss in a certain place? Surrendering to a kiss is as important as being the one approaching. Sometimes people have poor images of their body parts and do not want to draw attention to them, however, your partner may love your quirky chin, or ears, or forehead, and be drawn to just those spots because he or she adores the core of you. Allowing kisses even for a fleeting moment can send messages to the brain that you are okay – that you are attractive. Once you feel attractive your partner will sense your pleasure and then the kissing continues.

Have you ever kissed your lover just out of a shower? He or she is wet and the sensation of kissing a wet body part is certainly different and can be a real turn on for some people. Have you ever kissed your lover while cooking in the kitchen, or doing some average household chore? Have you ever played a kissing game- one where the lights are off and you are both unclothed? You take turns kissing a body part until you find a new spot that thrills your partner. Have you ever massaged your sweetheart with fragrant oils and kissed his or her back? You get the idea here – mix things up and be creative. I love to see people kissing when they are out – I’m not talking about really making out in public – I’m talking about a genuine kiss when inspired no matter where you are.

Here are some things to remember when learning to be a fabulous kisser:

1. Relax – think about nothing else but a gentle kiss on your partner’s lips. Stand face to face and pull her/him toward you as if you were confident and look into his/her eyes as you move forward. Touch your lips and simply kiss gently then pull away. Look again in his/her eyes and see how they are responding. Kiss his/her neck on the next attempt, again watch for a response.

2. Girls, it is always nice to have a lip gloss that tastes good on your lips.Actually more guys are wearing lip glosses and chapstick today. Whatever can soften your lips and cause a “slide” when you kiss is always good. I know in Italy women rub olive oil all over their bodies to keep them moist and supple – so be creative, it doesn’t have to be store bought. You can use things from your kitchen like the inner part of a banana, kiwi, avocado, or a melon. There are natural oils in most every plant. Coconut and almond oils are also good.

3. I know that a lot of people enjoy kissing “cold” lips, ones that have just downed an icy drink. In fact, cool lips can become very warm quickly when kissing begins. Try just kissing his/her forehead first – then cheek, then ear, then the lips. Move from there if you dare.

4. Kiss your lover while you breathe them in. That’s right, you are literally experiencing the depth of your partner and you adore them. Once you feel that your partner is ready for a more passionate kiss – gentle touch the tip of your tongue to his or hers while your mouth is slightly open. See if they respond. Do not shove your tongue down your partner’s throat – save that for the full enchilada.

5. When you kiss your partner – mean it – don’t just kiss expecting there to be more. What if kissing was all you were to share? Make the kisses meaningful. Now say something to your partner. What? Express the feelings you are having that moment. “You turn me on with your eyes.” “I love your smile” “You make me hot” “I have a hard time staying away from you” “Don’t tell me to stop” “Your kisses drive me crazy” you get the idea…

6. Try holding your lover from the back and kissing their neck, Lean over the couch from behind and kiss your lover on the cheek. Slide over and lay in his/her lap and hold each other while you kiss right there.

7. Kiss when your partner “moves” you. That could be he or she just made the bed and you appreciate it, Or he/she cooked a marvelous dinner and you appreciate the effort. Or he/she just took the kids to soccer and gave you a break. Kiss for thank yous, for I love yous, for can I have you now, and for any reason that thrills you.

8. Vary your kisses and keep them interesting.

9. Kiss your partner from the depth of your soul when you want to make a lasting impression. Your lover will know an empty kiss, from a “will you do me a favor kiss” to an “I want you” kiss, or an “I love you kiss.” Make it appropriate for the moments you have and fall in love with kissing again like you did when you were a teenager.

10. Keep practicing. Watch movies with your lover and see what turns them on then try those things. Before you know it you will be thrilling your partner and yourself with your talent because it will become truly an expression of passion if you are in love.

So, happy kissing and best wishes for sexier moments than you can imagine!

The Symptoms, Causes and Treatment of Diabetic Coma

Diabetic Coma is a medical emergency state. The person who suffers from diabetes mellitus is comatose. It means the person is in unconscious state. It is describing one of the acute complications of diabetes.

  • severe diabetic hypoglycemia,
  • diabetic ketoacidosis advanced enough to result  in unconsciousness from a combinations of severe hyperglycemia, dehydration, shock and exhaustion,
  • Hyperosmolar nonketotic coma relating to hyperglycemia and dehydration and causing unconsciousness.

Based on medical context, the term diabetic coma relates to the diagnostical dilemma posed while a physician is confronting with an unconscious patient. Noting can add about the unconsciousness except the patient has diabetes.  Therefore, a state of unconsciousness leads a person to a risk prone condition of brain damage or death; it happens due to severe constant fluctuations in the sugar levels. This unconscious state is known as diabetic coma. There are many causes behind diabetic coma. It has symptoms and treatments also.

The early symptoms can lead to diabetic coma if these are not treated. These can be

  •      increased thirst,
  •      increased urination,
  •      weakness,
  •      drowsiness,
  •      headache,
  •      Restlessness,
  •      Inability to speak and
  •      Paralysis

The symptoms of hypoglycemia are sweating, hunger anxiety, abnormal behavior, double or blurred vision, tremor, heart palpitations, loss of consciousness or seizure. When blood sugar reaches 600mg/dl (milligram per deciliter) or more, Diabetic coma typically happens.

The causes of Diabetic coma can be extreme low blood glucose levels (hypoglycemia), or extreme high blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia). Hypoglycemia is the condition that arises due to insufficient supply of glucose, a fuel to the brain. It is ranging from nausea to seizure. Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes are hypoglycemia prone. Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) is found in type 1 diabetes patients. It is a life threatening complication. It is the state of absolute of insulin shortage, leading to alarming high blood sugar levels, saturating organic acid and ketones in the blood. Muscles, fat and liver cells become inefficient to use sugar as a fuel. Nonketotic Hyperosmolar Syndrome (NKHS) relates to the high concentration of sugar or glucose in the blood stream, and it is mostly found in adults suffering from type 2 diabetes. The causes behind this syndrome are hyperglycemia and dehydration. In this state, blood sugar level reaches at 600 mg/dl or 33 mmol/L; as a result, the blood turns thick and syrupy.

The treatment of diabetic coma depends on the blood sugar levels. When it is too low, the hormone glucagon injection is provided, and it can help raise the glucose level. Similarly, when blood sugar level is too high, intravenous fluids is applied and it restores water in the tissues. Replaced sufficient fluids, insulin can be administered to absorb sugar. To function the cells properly, potassium, sodium or chlorine can be prescribed. As glucose level reaches at normal blood sugar level, the patient regains consciousness. Moreover, proper diabetic diet, diabetes exercise and adequate pre-cautionary measures can avoid facing diabetic coma.

The Blood Sugar Level Chart – A Crucial Tool in Maintaining a Normal Blood Glucose Level

Contrary to common belief, understanding the body’s sugar levels through a blood sugar level chart is not only for people who have diabetes. As the matter of fact, it can be as an early warning if the body will develop diabetes and in some instances be the key to preventing diabetes. However, even with blood sugar chart, maintaining a healthy blood sugar level can still be a difficult task for some, depending on how their body utilizes and responds to glucose.

In normal cases, blood sugar or glucose, which is the main means of transporting energy to all of the body’s cells, is maintained through insulin – which in turn, is the chemical that injects blood sugar to the various cells of the body. Whenever food that contains more than normal sugar level enters the body, extra insulin is produced to lower the blood stream’s sugar ratio so that it can accommodate the extra amount of sugar going in. Experts agree that this makes the body a little bit more hyperactive as the body cells receive a sudden boost of energy.

This ability to maintain the body’s sugar ratio diminishes when one develops diabetes – when, due to some reasons, the pancreas stops or reduces its insulin production. In these cases, having a blood sugar level chart gains a paramount importance as the body stops automatically using up “extra” sugar in the bloodstream. Too much blood sugar damages small blood vessels, the usual victim is the eyes since there are a lot of small blood vessels lining your eyes. Hence, keeping a blood sugar level chart is important to further prevent damages to blood vessels.

A normal person’s body sugar ratio normally ranges in between 4 to 8 mmol/l. This unit measures how much glucose is present per liter of blood plasma. As said, your body adjusts to the many factors affecting the blood sugar in the body. Hence, your levels may vary depending on how far you are from your meals or what your mood is. Your normal body sugar level before meals is anywhere between 4 to 7 mmol/l. 90 minutes after a meal as your body begins to intake digested food, it goes up to just below 10 mmol/l. Before and during your sleep, as your body prepares to rest, your body sugar stabilizes at 8 mmol/l.

Going below these levels are harmful too. This condition known as hypoglycemia can lead to coma or fainting. Mildly, this causes clumsiness. Severely, it can lead to death. If asleep, hypoglycemia can cause nightmares and feeling tired or confused after waking up. In normal people, whenever the body’s sugar level goes dangerously low, it triggers hunger, thus prompting the person to eat and have an early glucose intake. The body still responds and prevents this condition. However, there are instances when the body can’t especially when the person has a habit of skipping meals, the body would not have enough glucose stored in the liver and in the muscles, thus causing weakness or sleepiness.

In the end, maintaining good sugar levels in the body is important not only to maintain good health but in keeping the body in optimum shape and the mind in optimum attention.

Do Not Drink Milk As Water

Milk can be drunk as water in some cases especially when you are thirsty and there is no water. The reason is because 90% components of milk is water. Water is the first most important nutrient for human beings. When your body losses more than 2% water, the body functions will be affected. If there is no water supplying for several days, people may lose their lives. Therefore, if no water is available, milk is a choice.

However, we can drink water as much as we can. But we could not drink milk as much as we can. Except water, milk still has fat, protein, sugar and calcium and so on. These stuffs have limitations for acceptable daily intake. Thus milk should not be drink unrestrictedly.

People usually think milk is high nutritive. Thus it is good to have much. There is a misunderstanding about it. They think nutrition is the content and quality of each nutrient. But actually nutrition refers to the reasonable formulation of each food’s quantity and varieties. It does not mean that to add protein, vitamin, calcium, zinc and so on together is high nutrition. It should have cereals, vegetables, meat, eggs, and beans and so on. These form our daily diet. Therefore, using milk as water is destroying the balance.

In addition, the protein and fat which milk contains are about 3%, sugar 5% and calcium 1‰. If a person shall drink 1.2 liters water per day, calcium is overweighed. Fat and hear energy is also a little bit more. This will easily cause obesity. This is why westerners choose skimmed milk. As for other nutrition in milk, they can be supplied by other food we eat everyday. Hence it is not very important to emphasize them.

Third, high protein, high fat and high energy are one factor of diabetes, tumor and cerebral and vascular diseases. As a result, some scholars do not think highly of drinking milk as water like some westerners do. They even suggest not drinking milk which is surely not very acceptable and reasonable.

In a word, we can drink milk everyday to get some calcium for our bodies. When we are out of water, we can use it as an institute. However, drinking too much milk instead of water for quite a long time is not advisable. It does not give you high or rational nutrition. Instead, it may bring harms to your body.

Finally, let your lovers or family members know this because they may drink milk as water. So they can know how they will choose and do their best to protect their bodies. This is a little Christmas gift you give them.

The Best Exercises for an Overweight Child

The Best Exercises for an Overweight Child

People often find my website using search phrases such as “Exercise plans for overweight children”, “Exercises for obesity”, or “Exercise DVD’s for overweight children”. So what are the best kinds of exercises for children—especially children who are overweight or lazy?  The answer is THE ONES THEY ENJOY!

Exercise should be fun for kids. They are not miniature adults, but parents often want to make them follow adult-type exercise programs. Some children, especially those who are extroverts, may enjoy team sports such as soccer, football, or volleyball. Very shy children or those who are introverts may avoid exercises that involve lots of other children. If they are self-conscious about their weight or starting puberty, they may avoid any team sport where they are forced to undress in front of their peers, fearing the teasing or stares that are sure to come.

The shy child might prefer an activity where he can spend more time with a parent, such as walking, jogging, riding bikes, shooting hoops, playing catch, rollerblading, bowling, or golf. Wearing a pedometer and keeping a pedometer journal will help motivate him to be more active. Try different activities with him, and see which ones he gets excited about. If he seems to be especially passionate about an activity such as golf, tennis, or ballroom dancing, arrange for a few private lessons if you can afford it.  You may see your child start to “blossom” right before your eyes!

Other activities your child might enjoy are martial arts (it teaches discipline too!), boxing, tap, ballet, or modern jazz dancing, or swimming.

If you need activities for indoors, try jumping rope or a video on hip hop dancing or Tai Chi.

According to a chart Exercise for weight loss: Calories burned in 1 hour on the Mayo Clinic website, the number of calories burned in 1 hour by a person weighing 160 pounds are:

·        Running – 986

·        Rollerblading – 913

·        Rope jumping or Tae Kwan do – 730

·        Stair treadmill – 657 (probably not much fun for a child!)

·        Jogging, 5mph; basketball game; football (touch, flag, general); or tennis singles-584

If your child is not already active, start with about 30 minutes of mild exercise every night and gradually increase the time and intensity of the activities. Have your child keep an exercise journal, writing down the activity, time spent, and how it made him feel (smiley face or sad face). Ask why he felt sad or happy doing the activity. Listen to his concerns without passing judgment.

By helping your child find physical activities he enjoys or can excel in, you are making a valuable contribution to his health and quality of life!

Three Quick Steps To Personal Development And Growth

The steps involved in personal development and growth are actually very simple. The actually doing the steps is where the real problem will typically come from. I’m going to go over the three steps that are the basics of personal development. I’ll be honest with you the first one can sting a little bit and the third one is the hardest one to actually do but like any good thing in this life this comes with challenges.

The first step is to find out about yourself. This is the one that I said can hurt a little bit. Most people that don’t reflect on themselves on a regular basis are going to find out some things about themselves that are probably going to hurt them a little bit. It is best if you do this for yourselves and then have one or two people that really know, and that are going to be honest with you, do it as well. Once you have done this step it is time to go onto step number two.

The second step is to make a plan of attack for what you are going to do. This is the easiest step but it is also one that most people forget about. Another often forgotten step that will greatly increase your success rate is to post it somewhere that you are going to see it. I think you should put it somewhere that you see it first thing in the morning. Once you have it written out make sure you refer back to it often, especially if you don’t hang it somewhere, and make sure you keep it in mind.

The last step is the real action step in the process. This is where you put the deep insight and plan into action and achieve your goals. I am a huge believer in the baby steps approach. If you are not familiar it is where you take small actions that move you progressively forward towards your overall goal. This is how I tackle personal development and growth issues in my personal life and what I recommend to my family and friends when they ask me my opinion on the topic. It is important to do it this way because if you go for the end to quick and fail many people lose focus and go back to their old ways. If you can get some small successes under your belt first a little setback is less likely to get you to quit.

If you forget something the first couple of times don’t worry just keep going and change it the next time. It is better to keep going and finish one goal then to keep going back to the beginning every time you see one little part. These are obviously a lot harder to do successfully in real life then on paper but I know personally that it can be done. If you follow these three simple steps to better personal development and growth you will be a lot farther down the road to success.

Jock Itch – Causes, Symptoms and Treatment Methods

Jock itch (tinea cruris) is a pretty common fungal infection of the groin and upper thighs. Jock itch is also sometimes called crack fungus, crotch itch, bag rot or crotch rot, dhobi itch (after Indian washermen). It is a common fungal infection that affects the skin of your inner thighs, buttocks and genitals. Men and women encounter the disease worldwide, although it is seen more often in the humid tropics. The rash may affect only your groin, but it may spread to include your inner thighs, genitals, and areas around your anus, rectum, or Lesions caused by jock itch can extend from the crease between the inner thigh and pelvis, over the adjacent upper inner thigh, and into the anal area. Jock itch occurs almost exclusively in adult men. It can sometimes accompany athlete’s foot and ringworm. The fungus that causes jock itch thrives in warm, moist areas. As it grows, it spreads out in a circle, leaving normal-looking skin in the middle. This makes it look like a ring. At the edge of the ring, the skin is lifted up by the irritation and looks red and scaly. Many people with tinea cruris also have athlete’s foot. Athlete’s foot is called tinea pedis.

Jock itch gets its name because it is common in people who sweat a lot, like athletes. The medical name for all of these types of fungal infections is a tinea infection, and the medical name for jock itch is tinea cruris (pronounced: tih -nee-uh krur -us). It also often occurs in people who are overweight, but anyone can get the infection. Jock itch may be contagious. Some kinds of fungi live on damp surfaces, like the floors in public showers or locker rooms. You can easily pick up a fungus there. It can be passed from one person to the next by direct skin-to-skin contact or contact with unwashed clothing. Jock itch usually stays around the creases in the upper thigh and does not involve the scrotum. Symptoms of these infections can vary depending on where they are on the body. The most common etiologic agents for tinea cruris include Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum ; less commonly Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Trichophyton verrucosum are involved. The source of the fungus is usually the soil, an animal (usually a cat, dog, or rodent), or most often, another person. Staying in a bathing suit greatly increases your chances of acquiring Jock Itch.

Causes of Jock itch

The common causes and risk factor’s of Jock itch include the following:

Jock itch is caused by fungi called dermatophytes. These microscopic organisms are normal inhabitants of your skin, and stay in check as long as your skin is clean and dry.

People taking broad-spectrum antibiotics, with weakened immune systems, or who have diabetes are more at risk to develop the rash.

Wearing tight clothes or athletic supporters can aggravate the problem further.

Lichen simplex chronicus.

Eczema.

Jock itch may spread to the anus, causing anal itching and discomfort.

Chemical irritation.

Symptoms of Jock itch

Some sign and symptoms related to Jock itch are as follows:

A circular, red, raised rash with elevated edges.

Itching and redness in your groin, including your genitals, inner thighs, buttocks and anal area.

Flaking, peeling or cracking skin in your groin.

Abnormally dark or light skin.

You may have other fungal skin rashes such as athlete’s foot or ringworm on other body parts.

In long-standing infections, the rash becomes less itchy and less red, and the plaques may fuse together.

Treatment of Jock itch

Here is list of the methods for treating Jock itch:

Jock itch is treated with one of two types of antifungal medications — azoles or allylamines.

For a mild case of jock itch, your doctor may suggest first using an over-the-counter antifungal ointment, lotion, powder or spray.

Keep the skin clean and dry.

Apply topical over-the-counter antifungal or drying powders, such as those that contain miconazole, clotrimazole, or tolnaftate.

Wash and then dry the area using a clean towel.

Tolnaftate (Tinactin, Aftate) and undecylenate (Cruex, Desenex) are well-known, effective medications.

Haloprogin (Halotex) — Agent for use in the treatment of tinea cruris.

Gynecomastia Causes Men To Feel Feminine, Insecure

Men love boobs, right? Well, not always. For the roughly 30 to 40 percent of men who suffer from some form of gynecomastia, the boobs are unfortunately on their own chests.

The fatty deposits that accumulate in men’s pectoral area have been jokingly referred to for years as “man boobs.” But for many men and adolescent boys, gynecomastia is anything but funny.

Many teenage boys have suffered so much teasing and emotional torment about their condition that they have resorted to plastic surgery to correct it. This would explain the significant increase in male breast reduction surgeries each year.

The type of gynecomastia most men experience is really pseudogynecomastia, which means their chest area has the appearance of breasts but is really just made up of adipose (regular fat) tissue. Most men simply develop these features from being overweight and having some of the fat store itself in their chests. Often, men who dabbled in bodybuilding and then quit find pseudogynecomastic breasts where their pectoral muscles used to be when the muscle transforms and sags.

Some believe that it is not just overeating, but also what you eat, that determines whether or not you will develop pseudogynecomastia. For example, beer and soy products contain chemicals called phytoestrogens which behave similarly to the estrogen hormone that is produced in the body. This female hormone is responsible for the storage of fat in the chest, hips, belly and thighs. Daily consumption of these products can position a man’s weight gain in places peculiar to his form.

Proper gynecomastia, however, is a bit different. In this case, the male breast is partially or entirely composed of glandular breast tissue. Therefore, weight loss will not help, and surgery may be the only option to remove them. The breast tissue often forms during the developmental years when hormones are going haywire. Because estrogen exists in males as well as females, sometimes its presence in males results in breast formation. Adolescent boys are usually advised to wait it out, because the condition can sort itself out in a matter of a year or two as hormone levels balance out.

Other culprits may include certain medications that contain estrogen, steroids or impaired liver function. A medical assessment must be performed on each patient before going to surgery.

For the unlucky bunch who don’t grow out of it, corrective plastic surgery is always an option. For men who suffer from pseudogynecomastia, simple liposuction is applied to the chest. For men with true gynecomastia, lipsuction is combined with a removal of the breast tissue by incision.

The recovery time is minimal. Bruising and soreness are normal reaction to the surgery. Patients are recommended to stay in bed for the first three or so days. It is quite possible that you will be back on your feet and at work within just a few days – this time with a renewed sense of confidence.
