Complete Information on Choroid Plexus Cysts

Choroid plexus cysts (CPCs) are cysts that occur within choroid plexus of the brain. Choroid plexus cysts (CPC’s) are sometimes found on ultrasound scan at around 18 to 20 weeks gestation. Choroid Plexus Cysts are believed to derive from folding of the neuroepithelium with subsequent accumulation of CSF and debris. The choroid plexus has the important function of producing a fluid called cerebrospinal fluid. The fluid produced by the cells of the choroid plexus fills the ventricles and then flows around the brain and the spinal cord to provide a cushion of fluid around these structures.

CPCs can organize within this system and go from graceful trapped within this soft bed of cells, often like a soap bubble or a blister. CPCs are frequently called “tender signs” or fetal ultrasound “markers” because some studies have establish a feeble association between CPCs and fetal chromosome abnormalities. It is believed that many adults have one or much small CPCs. CPCs have no influence on a person’s health or growth or learning. The fetal mind may produce these cysts as a natural region of growth. They are short-lived and normally are gone by the 32nd week of pregnancy.

There is considerable controversy in the medical journals about how great a risk of Trisomy 18 or other chromosomal abnormalities there is for a fetus with choroid plexus cysts. The risk of chromosome abnormalities increases significantly when CPC’s are associated with other markers rising from less than 1 in 250 as an isolated finding in a woman under 32 years to 1 in 10 when associated with other markers or raised maternal age. Choroid plexus cysts are seen during 1% to 3% of all mid-trimester prenatal ultrasound examinations.

There is substantial argument in the medical journals about how good a danger of Trisomy 18 or new chromosomal abnormalities there is for a fetus with choroid plexus cysts. The danger of chromosome abnormalities increases significantly when CPC’s are associated with new markers rising from little than 1 in 250 as an isolated finding in a woman under 32 years to 1 in 10 when associated with new markers or raised paternal age. Choroid plexus cysts are seen during 1% to3% of all mid-trimester prenatal ultrasound examinations.

Poisoned In The Home – Black Mold Symptoms And Treatment

Black mold is bad news for your body, and if exposed, you need to get your symptoms treated quickly. Until recently, people generally didn’t believe that so many common problems were caused by black mold. But, recent research has been looking into the symptoms and treatment of black mold exposure.

The number one treatment is… you guessed it, prevention! I know, if you are suffering from exposure symptoms, it’s already too late, but if you make your house a hostile alien environment for that nasty black mold, your symptoms will disappear.

There are toxic and non-toxic varieties of mold. First, let’s look at ways to treat your non-toxic mold suffering.

Non-Toxic Mold

The most common black mold symptoms resemble those of a common cold, or what we usually refer to vaguely as “allergies.” Since mold trouble is often associated with poor ventilation, one way to treat your stuffy nose and sinus trouble is to simply open the windows and get some fresh air. Then, after you feel better, creep around the house and find the mold and kill it.

You’ll often experience these symptoms in certain parts of the house only. Your nose will tell you which part of your house is harboring the mold. If, for example, you get stuffed up when you go into the basement, you know there’s a mold problem there.

There is no effective treatment to mold if you don’t get rid of it. And, there is no way to get rid of mold unless you get rid of the conditions that cause the mold. Keep your house dry and well-ventilated, and check often the areas where mold is prone to grow.

Toxic Mold

Toxic mold is a different story and it is altogether more serious. Symptoms can be pretty wide-ranging. Doctors have identified at least 50 symptoms associated with black mold. Some of the most common include:

-Cold or sinus symptoms: runny nose, stuffy nose or headache

-Sore throat

-Persistent cough

-Itchy or red eyes

-Rashes or hives

-Nausea and fever

-Fatigue or general malaise

-Memory or hearing loss

-Shortness of breath

-Lightheadedness and dizziness

This is a pretty big list, but it’s not everything. Some of these are very serious symptoms. With all of them, it’s difficult to tell if the cause is mold-related or not. The proper diagnosis is essential for the proper treatment.

If you suspect there may be mold in your house, you should hire a licensed mold inspector to take samples. When you see the doctor, tell them that you believe you may have mold, and this will help them diagnose you.

These symptoms tell you that there is a toxic form of mold in your home, and your doctor may recommend a detox program. Mold spores have gotten into your respiratory system and dispatched mircotoxins throughout your body. That is why you experience such wide-ranging symptoms like memory loss or stomach trouble. Learn to stop toxic black mold from our site.

Aside from removing the cause, there are other treatments available. Your doctor may prescribe antihistimines or other nasal decongestants. These will not remove the allergy, but will provide temporary relief from symptoms. At the very least, they’ll help you breath better.

If it is determined that your particular allergy is a form of asthma, your doctor will provide tougher stuff. This may include an inhaler and stronger drugs.

Severe cases may involve immunotherapy. With immunotherapy, a doctor gives you shots of a small quantity of the irritant that is causing your allergic reaction. Following the strict regiment of shots and drugs over time, your body will develop its own immunity to the allergen. Immunotherapy has shown remarkable results in the treatment of asthma and other allergies, but it is used only for particularly severe cases.

Before seeing your doctor, make sure you know in detail what is causing the allergy. You should know how much mold you’ve been exposed to and where in the house it is. This will help you to answer their questions so they can provide the best treatment possible.

Baby Thrush: How to Cure Baby Thrush Naturally and Permanently

When a little baby comes out of the womb, there are so many sights, sounds and sensations to adjust to. Every little thing is a big deal when you’re caring for a baby because your baby’s body and senses are just so sensitive. Thrush can really throw a wrench into things when you’re caring for your child. It’s not fun for mom or baby to deal with baby thrush – as I know from personal experience.

To successfully treat baby thrush, you need just the right approach. After all, caring for a baby is hard work already: between feedings, diaper changes, night-wakings and so many other responsibilities, you want to make sure you approach is the simplest and most effective. You don’t want to get any more worn out than your probably already are, and you want thrush relief for your baby as quickly as possible!

So first, let’s look at some of the most common symptoms of baby thrush:

*creamy, white patches on the tongue, gums or inside the cheeks (note: sometimes babies may have milk residue on the tongue, but this will wipe away whereas thrush will not)

*breastfed babies with thrush may have difficulty nursing or be reluctant to nurse

*baby may be irritable or fussy

*decreased appetite.

A baby’s mouth is a perfect place for yeast to grow: it’s warm, wet and rich in sugar – either from the natural lactose in breastmilk or added sweeteners in formula. Also, baby’s immune system is still developing, giving the yeast an added edge.

One of the main reasons why baby thrush has become so common is due to the fact that antibiotics are used more commonly than ever before, especially during labor. Between c-sections and strep B prophylaxis, millions of birthing mothers receive antibiotics before, during and after labor every year. Antibiotics wipe out both mom and baby’s natural yeast defenses, making it even easier to the yeast to take hold and grow out of control.

Sometimes the baby may also contract yeast from mom while coming through the birth canal. Premature babies are at increased risk for baby thrush simply due to their vulnerable immune system.

There are two approaches most commonly used to treat babies with thrush:

  1. Use prescription anti-fungals such as Nystatin or Diflucan (fluconazole) to try to kill the yeast; or
  2. Try to kill the yeast with natural or home remedies. Ironically, if you’re not careful some home remedies may be less safe than pharmaceuticals. For example, gentian violet – which is frequently recommended for baby thrush – is a known carcinogen.

In either case, there is a major underlying problem with either the pharmaceutical or home remedy approach: they don’t stop the yeast from growing back. Pharmaceuticals also carry the risk of serious side effects, which is of particular concern when you’re treating a baby or child. (If you do use a pharmaceutical, Nystatin is the safest choice, but unfortunately isn’t effective in many cases and can actually make the yeast mutate into a more treatment-resistant form.)

On the other hand, some thrush home remedies have questionable safety as well, especially for baby thrush. This concerns me the most since many well-meaning moms seeking out safer alternatives may not realize that some “natural” thrush remedies simply aren’t appropriate for babies. For example, I’ve seen products containing colloidal silver, tea tree oil and oregano oil advertised for baby thrush – each of these substances has significant concern for use in babies.

My own personal experiences with the frustration of treating thrush naturally and permanently led me to develop a natural system to treat thrush quickly and safely, with only positive side effects – no risk. The secret lies in kill the existing yeast (safely) and in correcting the underlying imbalance that allowed the yeast cells to overgrow and take hold in the first place.

Loss of Penis Sensation – Is Penis Feeling Gone Forever?

Loss of any degree of penis sensation can be a guy’s worst nightmare. Although the average male does not want to admit to lost sensitivity in this all-important organ, the fact is that more than three quarters of all men experience reduced penis feeling at some point in their lives. Diminished penis sensation can result in loss of sexual pleasure, relationship problems, and low self-esteem; men who have a numb penis may worry that their sex lives are over forever.

The good news is that, although loss of penis feeling may in some cases be caused by a serious underlying condition, the answer is often fairly simple and can be treated in a straightforward manner. In addition, treating the penile skin with penis-specific vitamins and minerals may help to reduce the risk of chronic penis numbness and even restore lost sensation.

What causes loss of penis sensation?

In more serious cases, penis numbness may be caused by spinal problems, chronic health issues such as diabetes, or a sexually transmitted disease. For most men, however, reduced sensation of the penis is caused by one of three things:

1. Frequent dry masturbation can damage the fine mesh of nerve endings that lies directly below the penis skin. Without proper nutrient support from skin vitamins and minerals, the neural cells are unable to repair themselves efficiently; over time, this can lead to a reduction in sensitivity.

2. In addition to nerve damage resulting from dry rubbing, the friction caused by masturbation can lead to “calloused” or thickened skin on the head and shaft of the penis. This in turn leads to desensitization of the penis which can only be reversed by softening the penis skin and restoring it to its natural, healthy condition.

3. Poor circulation and restricted blood flow to the penis can cause numbness and loss of sexual pleasure; maintaining healthy blood flow and keeping the blood vessels in good working order is necessary to ensure a fully functional penis.

Is sexual intercourse still pleasurable with diminished penis sensitivity?

While men report that they are still able to achieve an erection when the penis head is numb, they relate that it can take hours of stimulation and steady concentration to have an orgasm. Other guys note that they are able to please their partners, but that they experience little to no pleasure themselves, and often, reaching an orgasm is impossible. In some cases, relationship problems result, as women often blame themselves for the inability of their partner to feel pleasure or to reach climax.

How to prevent or reverse loss of penis sensitivity

To avoid developing a numb penis, it is important to address the root causes of the problem. Providing adequate nerve support through nutrients such as vitamin B5, as well as certain amino acids that are needed for repairing damaged nerve cells, can increase the healing power of the neural cells, ensuring healthy response to sexual stimulation.

In addition, it is necessary to maintain hydration of the penis skin through the use of moisturizing agents such as shea butter and vitamin E, which creates a natural barrier that prevents dryness and desensitization of the dermal tissue.

Maintaining good circulatory health by nourishing the capillaries of the penis with vitamin C, which is needed for repairing damaged capillaries and providing structural support to the cell walls of the blood vessels, is also an important aspect of preventing lost penis sensitivity.

These nutrients are vital to sustaining penis health and preventing loss of penis feeling. Treating the penis skin with a specialized penis health formula (most health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) can ensure that these nutrients are delivered directly where they are needed most – to the skin of the penis, where they are directly absorbed and begin working within minutes to keep the penis skin in top condition.

Control Your Weight and Insulin With Antioxidants

In the 1950’s Denham Harman proved the free radical theory of aging is right and over the years it has also been found that free radicals are a foundation of a number of diseases like atherosclerosis and cancer. They causes inflammation in the body and degeneration and disease follows. Obesity is one result. Inflammation is also involved in Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and Alzheimer’s as well as many other diseases.

Free radicals are molecules that react with oxygen and help in forming oxygen. They play a part in the signals cells send to each other and environmental stress affects them because cells get damaged and there are less cells. This leads to what may be called oxidative stress. This also happens when you are exposed to cigarettes, stress, chemicals, alcohol, pollution, high-fat foods, the ozone, food additives and during physical exercise.

Normally cells and antioxidants in the body such as glutathione defend against this but when the levels get too high the antioxidants we make in our body are not enough to destroy the bad molecules and the DNA, RNA and protein can damage so we age faster.

Insulin resistance happens when cells become less sensitive to insulin and then sugar is unable to enter the cells. The body ignores the message insulin is trying to send it and needs to make higher and higher amounts of insulin. The sugar builds up in the blood to a high, destructive level. There is now scientific proof that insulin resistance is behind a lot of illnesses which means that our level of anti-oxidants in our body needs to be kept high to avoid oxidative stress.

Mainstream medicine is finally beginning to recognize this link of insulin resistance. Current research only goes to prove this link between insulin resistance and other diseases ranging even to cognitive decline, various cancers, depression and maybe even breast and colon cancer.

Most importantly inflammation is also thought to be the underlying reason for putting on weight and obesity. Inflammation could be a foundation for post-menopausal breast cancer, cancers of the endometrium, colon and kidney, and malignant adenomas of the oesophagus. Many of the latest studies show that free radicals are behind all this.

The most powerful antioxidants improve inflammation and insulin sensitivity. N-acetyl cysteine has been shown to prevent fructose-induced insulin resistance in rats and the turmeric part Curcumin also is an agent to improve insulin sensitivity. EGCG is also a well-researched antioxidant part in animal studies as is green tea for obesity and diabetes although it does not affect in this study the blood glucose levels. Bilberry has been known to improve the function of fat cells which also affect insulin resistance. Grape seed and Rosemary also help in raising anti-oxidant levels.

A two-step approach using antioxidants and blood-sugar-maintaining nutrients is needed to help improve your health. The body tends to become less sensitive to the effects of insulin as we get older so this becomes important. Add to this over-eating that increases blood sugar, too many carbohydrates – white breads, pasta, pizza etc and it means we need some antioxidants to help restore the insulin balance.

So antioxidants are important in helping the body prevent major illnesses, regulating the insulin and therefore help with weight loss. It is never too late to start looking after your health and it is important to see a qualified practitioner to design a program to suit you.

Hepatitis Part V – Symptoms of Hepatitis

As we mentioned in previous articles, hepatitis is characterized by the destruction of a number of liver cells and the presence of inflammatory cells in the liver tissue caused by excessive alcohol drinking, disorders of the gall bladder or pancreas, medication side effects, and infections. Here are the symptoms of hepatitis:

1. Jaundices
Jaundices caused by the excession of a chemical called bilirubin accumulated in the body’s tissues. When the liver is damaged by hepatitis virus, it’s unable to do its normal job and this chemical accumulates in the blood and starts to leak out into body tissue resulting in a yellow color in the skin, and especially around the whites of the eyes.

2. Loss of appetite
Loss of appetite is also called anorexia, is often the first symptom of acute hepatitis. Sometimes this symptom lasts for a very short time before being replaced by nausea and vomiting.

3. Fatigue
Fatigue is a debilitating tiredness and is a big source of frustration for people with liver disease. When the liver is damaged, feelings of extreme weakness is common.

4. Pain in the muscles and joints
Pain in the muscles and joints can last from days to weeks and are very common in acute hepatitis infection.

5. Low blood sugar
Infection by Hepatitis A virus may cause low blood sugar. Therefore regular monitoring of blood glucose level with constant glucose infusion is essential, because dangerously low blood sugar is a constant threat.

6. Insomnia
Insommia is caused by liver inflammation of hepatitis virus C leading to trouble of sleeping, and waking up often during the night. Some people also experience unusually vivid, intense and frightening dreams.

7. Pruritus
People with hepatitis C sometimes have pruritus, itching to the palms of the hand and the soles of the feet.

8. Lymphadenopathy
Hepatitis may also cause inflammation of lymph nodes. They usually appear in the armpits, groin and neck.

9. Weakness
Hepatitis C also causes a sense of weakness. This symptom can vary from mild to severe and tends to come and go.
If you have any of the above symptoms, please consult with your doctor immediately.

Inching Towards Iceland

When we hear vacation, usually people see tropical islands with white sand beaches; not many automatically think of Iceland. This incredible land mass of volcanoes, lava fields, mountains, glaciers, and charming little towns is not your average destination, but if you want a vacation that will be remembered forever this one must go on your list.

Have you seen movies such as Tomb Raider, Die Another Day, and Batman Begins? Well if you didn’t know some of those scenes are shot in Iceland. In beautiful Skaftafell National Park. This park looks like it is stolen straight out of a comic book, where fire and water always fight, while thick greens of birch woods and black desert surround the entrances. There are waterfalls which flow over black basalt cliffs; cruise ship size glaciers take over the horizon; and lagoons which take travelers inside ice caves they can explore. Guided tours through glaciers and ice caves depart daily and finish off with hot bowls of soup and other warm food to create sublime experiences.

If the cold is not something that particularly calls to your heart, Iceland’s uncommon mixture of geography works in your favor. Because of Iceland’s volcanic activities, a lot of geysers appear; scattered all over the county. These geysers create hot springs and natural thermal pools, and watching one erupt with a hot stream going feet into the air is like no other experience. The most popular of these springs is the Blue Lagoon. The water temperature here reaches between 98F and 103F. But that isn’t all this Blue Lagoon has to offer. Many say that the water is magical. Due to the rich amount of silica and minerals in the water, it has been known to help, and in some cases cure skin diseases, such as eczema and psoriasis. There is also a spa and a restaurant located on the banks of the lagoon.

At night, after a day of hiking and jumping into hot springs, one can see the beauty that is the Aurora Borealis, or more commonly known as the Northern Lights. They often occur because of the latitude of Iceland, and the increase of solar activity up north rather than at lower latitudes. During the late fall and winter months is the best time to experience these, for the solar activity levels rise during these months, and the lights appear to be brighter and more common than during spring and summer.

Not only is the geography of this country captivating but its wildlife will take your breath away as well. During the months, May and September, whales migrate from down south back up north to begin hunting. Most whales stay close to the Arctic Circle, thus making Iceland one of the best places to see these magnificent mammals. Whale watching tours depart daily and make for great photo sessions, to show friends and family.

From basalt cliffs and ice caves to hot springs and whale watching Iceland has it all. The underrated vacation destination has much to offer and more memories to be made.

Jewelry Reviews – What Are the Grades of Silver?

Have you ever wondered if the silver jewelry you are paying for is too much? What constitutes a valuable piece of expensive silver jewelry? There are actually different grades of silver which, in large part, is used to determine its worth. Although there are variants, the main grades of silver are pure, sterling, and parts.

Pure silver is 99.5% silver or above; or 995-1000 parts out of 1000 of silver. It is typically only the component of fine silver jewelry. Although more valuable, it is not a very pragmatic choice as it is very soft in its pure form. This means that it is more prone to being bent, scratched, and misshapen.

Sterling Silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% alloy; 925 parts are silver and 75 are of another metal out of a total 1,000 parts. The alloy component adds the benefit of strengthening the silver making it more practical. Although the most common alloy in Sterling Silver is copper, others are also used. Other variants are often used to capitalize on the strengths of other metal properties, such as less likelihood of tarnishing, reduction of casting porosity, elimination of firescale, etc.

Sterling Silver is often the sought after choice for women who suffer a silver sensitivity. Silver sensitivity is a term used to describe an allergic reaction, most commonly contact dermatitis that results from skin contact to an element that someone has developed an allergy to. It results in itchy, red, scaly, and sometimes blistery skin surrounding the area in which the substance came into contact with. Most commonly that substance is nickel. What consumers should be aware of, is that if you suffer a nickel allergy, although less common in non-sterling silver pieces, it is still a possibility if the silver was alloyed with nickel. The key to being a savvy shopper is to simply ask and determine the composition of the alloy used in the jewelry.

The third main grade of silver is parts. This refers to any composition of silver 800 parts (or 80% silver) and below. Pure and Sterling Silver can be diluted when soldered. Thus, the more intricate soldering that was done making your jewelry can play a role in determining the final silver composition of the piece. A point worth considering when purchasing jewelry.

Silver jewelry is beautiful no matter what the composition. Savvy shoppers should simply be aware of the compositions which inherently make it more expensive, the jewelry making steps that can dilute the quality of the silver, causes of silver sensitivity, and how to care for your jewelry. Well cared for silver pieces are not only beautiful, but can last a lifetime if well-crafted.

Can Certain Medications Cause Liver Cirrhosis? What You Need To Know

Methotrexate (MTX) is a prescription treatment taken most often for rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. The great benefit of taking this medication is the dramatic improvement for most patients in the first couple of months and steady improvement thereafter.

The downside with MTX is that there is a chance of developing cirrhosis of the liver. Cirrhosis is scarring of the liver and poor liver function as a result of chronic liver disease. Some symptoms of cirrhosis include:

* Bleeding hemorrhoids
* Confusion
* Impotence and loss of interest in sex
* Jaundice
* Nausea and throwing up
* Vomiting blood
* Swelling of the legs
* Fevers
* Decrease in urine
* Nosebleed or bleeding gums
* Pale or clay colored stools

While MTX is a potent drug, over the last 10 years, it has proved safer than expected. The dosage level for arthritis is fairly small, therefore bad reactions happen less frequently than was once thought. (Also note that women who are pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant should not take MTX. Men who are planning on having children should also be aware that MTX can cause sterility and birth defects.)

The good news is that there are literally millions of people taking this medication and only a handful will develop liver problems. If you get your blood work done regularly, liver problems will be detected early, allowing you time to find alternatives before it becomes a permanent problem. Most likely, people who develop liver cirrosis while on MTX either haven’t had their blood work done regularly, or they are drinking heavily while on this medication.

If you have developed cirrosis of the liver while taking MTX, know that there is more than one way to treat it. Your doctor will talk with you about the various medical treatment options available to you, and there are also inexpensive, natural liver cirrhosis solutions out there.

In summary, while taking MTX, keep up with your bloodwork, and refrain from drinking alcohol to reduce your risk of getting liver cirrhosis. And if you do develop cirrhosis of the liver, know there are plenty of solutions available.

The 4 Major Effects of Meditation on Depression and Stress

Depression is a clinical disease that engulfs the normal self of a person when the stress levels are high, and one doesn’t feel normal about their lives. There may be several reasons for depression like professional strain, problems in the family or a serious issue with an important aspect of one’s life. It can be cured with the help of medicines, but the best way to get over it is meditation and Yoga. Meditation involves sitting in solidarity and thus reducing the levels of stress by performing relevant activities. There are ways that meditation can normalize a brain and get rid of depression. They may be categorized as follows –

• The deactivation of the depression areas in the brain – When a person meditates, the brain goes into a slumber. The areas that control the anxiety and stress levels in the brain gets deactivated automatically as people do not tend to think of their worries while meditating. The practice of such deactivation on a daily basis lets the depression reduce completely.

• Helping the mind to think about the present – There are people who tend to think about the past incidents of their lives which were disturbing. The disturbing memories sometimes increase the stress levels and making people depressed. There is a similar effect on those who think about their future and what it holds for them. This therapy calms the mind and thus letting people think of the present and not fret about what has happened or what will happen.

• Helps in reacting to situations – Different people have their perspectives to look at the world and the ways to react to each incident that takes place. There are people who tend to worry and get depressed about each and everything around them. As it helps in soothing the conditions of the mind and bringing about patience in their lives, people tend to react to different situations with ease depending on its seriousness and how it affects their lives. People no longer panic while handling serious situations and sort them out with ease.

• Brings about the feeling of being content – People at times feel the need for everything in their lives. They may not be able to afford it, and thus the feeling of depression sets it. It helps in soothing the mind and being content with whatever they have. People tend to feel better about their lives and what they have when their minds are content. The stress levels thus reduce naturally and bring about a change in one’s body.

My Top 10 Tips For Recovering From Depression and Anxiety

I suffered from depression badly for years, years of being stuck in a never ending nightmare. I was in psychiatric hospital three times between the ages of 23-29 for prolonged stays, and little did I think back then that I would make a recovery to the level that I have today.

These days I am in good form much more often than I am down. I also think that the quality of my happiness is very good when I am happy, which is most of the time. My depression symptoms are practically non-existent now, I am happy today and am very optimistic about the future, despite all of the gloom and doom in the media.

The following top 10 tips for recovering from depression are not theory – they have been hammered out on the anvil of experience, for me, who has been a chronic sufferer of severe depression and anxiety.

Will they work for you? I do not know, but my guess is “yes”.

Some people reading this may think “what an order, I can’t do this!”, well all that I will say is that if you WANT to recover, and you really have to WANT it, you need to become an opposite, you need to slowly change the way that you live and also very importantly the way that you relate to yourself.

1. If you drink too much or use drugs and it is making you depressed or anxious (or covering up your depression) and cannot stop then go to Alcoholics Anonymous, or Narcotics Anonymous, and most importantly, don’t judge it on the first few meetings. This is a vitally important piece of advice. This fellowship is an amazing gift that has been given to me. Make lots of friends there. Over time watch your anxiety and depression evaporate into thin air.

2. Use Udo’s Choice vegetable oils (as directed) or a quality Fish Oil supplement (2 grams a day) – this will help to repair your brain, and help to heal your body in all aspects.

3. Consider becoming a vegetarian or vegan – Eat lots of grains, legumes, pulses, nuts, fruit and vegetables. Eating meat and dairy products is very bad for you. A vegetarian or vegan diet will help you recover much more than you think. You’ll also be slimmer, feel more energetic and will be much less at risk of heart disease, cancer and stroke.

4. Drink LOTS of mineral water. You cannot heal or live healthily without consuming lots of pure water.

5. Exercise – Take a walk regularly, in the countryside if you can. This will lift your spirits immensely.

6. Quit caffeine – that means coffee and tea and cola drinks if you drink them – caffeine has a very pronounced effect on all anxiety and depressive illnesses, there are too many negative effects to list here. Research it for yourself – just Google “caffeine negative effects” and you’ll see what I mean.

7. Do this one thing and it will MASSIVELY aid your recovery – I cannot stress this enough – Look into the mirror once per day, look into your own eyes, and repeat three times “I love and respect you ___________ exactly as you are” (replace ___________ with your own first name). Most people will see a positive result within a day or two, and over the longer term, this will have a HUGE impact on your self-esteem, confidence and your overall mood.

8. If you are into reading, which I am, then instead of reading “how to get better from depression” books, read Osho and Eckhart Tolle instead. Their teachings are very powerful. And they have loads of audio programs also.

9. See your doctor regularly – those who do have a much better chance of a full recovery.

10. Get an Alpha Stim SCS – this will “wake up” your brain from its foggy slumber. It will re-balance your brain chemistry. Use it lots at the start (the first few weeks) and thereafter every day or every second day.

When Kidney Stone Cause Pain You Need Treatment

The kidney stones possibly will not create symptoms until they start to come down the ureter, producing pain. The pain is frequently serious and regularly begins in the flank area, afterward goes down to the groin.

Pain relievers perhaps required to control renal colic (pain related with the passage of stones). Acute pain might need narcotic analgesics.

Kidney stones bring about hasty, extreme pain. This is typically concerted on one side of the back but, in addition, could run into the stomach or down to the groin where it is able to effect in piercing pains. The similar type of pain can also be produced by haemorrhage or infection in the urinary system.

Kidney stone assaults can be very painful they produce extreme suffering to the sufferer. The pain is frequently complemented by nausea and vomiting.

If you have a kidney stone assault, you will require medicinal assistance to improve the pain. If it is 0.5cm or smaller, the assault will typically end subsequent to a few hours when the stones are sent out with your urine. But, if the stone gets stuck on the way out, the process can take more than a few days.

The concrete release of a kidney stone from the bladder through the urethra is either absolutely painless or produces a short ache of pain when urinating.

The doctor might be would like to observe the stones – or calculi. They are clearly not easy to catch but one solution is to attempt urinating through a sieve.

Just like the way sugar or salt crystals form in a concentrated solution, kidney stones may form in a similar manner. The hallmark of kidney stones is pain, which at times may be excruciating. Kidney stone pain has been compared to labor pains in women.

However, kidney stones may also have no symptoms and may go unnoticed for years. Fortunately, a variety of therapies exist for treating kidney stones. Which treatment represents the best alternative for a particular patient can only be determined after a thorough evaluation.

The goal of treatment is to relieve symptoms and prevent further symptoms. (Kidney stones usually pass on their own). Treatment varies depending on the type of stone and the extent of symptoms or complications. Hospitalization may be required if the symptoms are severe.

Insomnia – An Explanation of Insomnia

Insomnia is too little or poor-quality sleep caused by one or more of the following:

Trouble falling asleep

Waking up a lot during the night with trouble returning to sleep

Waking up too early in the morning

Having un-refreshing sleep (not feeling well rested), even after sleeping 7 to 8 hours at night

Insomnia can cause problems during the day, such as excessive sleepiness, fatigue, trouble thinking clearly or staying focused, or feeling depressed or irritable.

What are the different types of insomnia and what causes them?

Insomnia can be:

Transient (short term) insomnia lasts from a single night to a few weeks.

Intermittent (on and off) insomnia is short term, which happens from time to time.

Chronic (on-going) insomnia occurs at least 3 nights a week over a month or more.

Chronic insomnia is either primary or secondary:

Primary insomnia is not related to any other health problem.
