DDoS attacks are launched online with “toolkits” specifically designed to cause such attacks. One of the most well-known toolkits, an early version, was named after the Ion cannon, a fictional weapon in a video game franchise known as Command & conquer, the Low Orbit Ion Cannon (LOIC) is an open source network stress testing and DDOS attack application that is used by client machines to voluntarily join botnets.

A distributed denial of service attack refers to a flood of data traffic that a server receives when multiple systems send in data with an aim of flooding its bandwidth or resources. In most cases, this data flood is intended at disrupting the receiving of legitimate traffic by the server, ‘denying service’ to clients sending requests to the server. To an end user, when a DDOS attack seems like a service request delay, where new connections are no longer accepted.

LOIC has been responsible for several DDOS attacks on major websites such as PayPal, MasterCard and Visa, usually carried out by hacking groups such as Anonymous. The LOIC application is available in two versions: the first being the binary version or the original LOIC tool that was initially developed to stress test networks and the web based LOIC or JS LOIC.

The LOIC application, first developed by Praetox Technologies, sends a large sequence of HTTP, UDP or TCP requests to the Target server. LOIC is easy to use even by users who lack basic hacking skills. All that is required is the URL of the target. To control the LOIC remotely, some hackers connect the client launching the attack to an Internet Relay Chart using the IRC protocol.

Using this protocol, the user machine becomes part of a botnet. Botnets are networks of compromised computer systems that are controlled by a malware or virus and that send a flood of traffic to a target system when prompted.

The LOIC DDOS uses three types of attacks against the target machine. These include HTTP, UDP and TCP. These implement the same mechanism of attack which is to open multiple connections to the target machine and send a continuous sequence of messages to the target machine. The LOIC tool continues sending traffic to the targeted server, until the server is overloaded. As soon as the server cannot respond to the requests of legitimate users, it effectively shuts down.

The JS LOIC released in December of 2010 is a web based tool that runs on JavaScript enabled web browsers, hence the acronym JS. The LOIC sends an ID and message with a lot of connection requests for each ID and message. LOIC DDOS attack tools make it easy to find the attacker, and as a result is not commonly used by ordinary clients. On the other hand, hackers with some skills can use an IRC network to launch the attack within a Team making it hard to identify the real persons behind the attack.

The LOIC DDOS attack tool has been downloaded millions of times because it is simple to use and easy to identify. Network administrators can use a robust firewall to prevent or minimize the attack. Server administrators can then look at the logs to identify the IP sending the traffic and block the IP from the server. Well written firewall rules can form a great filter from LOIC DDOS preventing the attacks from being fully effective.

Some experts claim that filtering UDP and ICMP traffic can also effectively address LOIC attacks. To be effective at the firewall level, rules must be implemented earlier in the network link for instance at the ISP site operator, where the server connects to the backbone via a broadband line.

It is also important to check the broadband line to ensure it does not have limitations. If the packets are delivered through a narrow bandwidth then clogging on this line will still occur before any traffic can get to the firewall and get filtered.

LOIC DDOS attacks can be mitigated using two basic approaches, heuristic or signature control. Signature control uses predetermined patterns to filter matching incoming traffic patterns and eliminate the attack. Although effective for repeat attacks, it becomes an issue when new patterns of attacks are launched, and will continue to be a problem until signatures are updated.

On the other hand heuristic DDOS attack control systems make ‘educated guesses’ of impending attacks and acts to eliminate or minimize their effects.

Normally based on trial and error, these methods provide approximation solutions where speed is required to prevent DDOS attacks. Heuristic signatures can therefore provide a real-time approach to the problem. Other proprietary technologies may include a human-computer interaction by providing a user interface, allowing the system administrator to get alerts when heuristic signatures are detected.

How Wholesome Are Those Whole Grains?

You might find that your favorite rye bread also lists wheat flour as the first ingredient.

If the ingredients list 100% whole wheat as the first item, then you are close to finding a bread source for whole grain wheat. Don’t stop with the ingredients list. Look at the levels of sodium for breads that offer less than 200 mg of sodium per slice. One sandwich adds 400 mg or more to your daily allowance, which can challenge your diet plan.

However, whole wheat bread may offer some nutrient benefits at a huge dietary cost. Whole wheat bread has a glycemic index of 72, a whopping 13 points higher than raw table sugar. That’s right, you’d be better off eating a table spoon of sugar than eating two slices of whole wheat bread! Both will spike your insulin, but the bread will do it faster and your waistline will continue to grow while you kid yourself that you are getting all of the goodness of the whole grains into your body.

Still hooked? Okay, so you say you’re eating “light” bread. You may still be getting as much as fifteen grams of high glycemic, insulin-spiking, carbohydrates with each slice. If the label does not list 100% whole grains as the first ingredient, less than 4 grams of fiber and less than 200 mg of sodium per slice, leave the loaf on the shelf where you found it.

For a better idea, find a simple recipe for raw whole seed crackers and switch your bread habit to that instead. Raw seeds offer all of the nutrient benefit without any of the glycemic issues of wheat and bread products. Oh, while you’re at it, scrap the idea of eating sugar by the spoonful… it’s not a good choice.

Ask God to give you a new heart and a new mind by turning away from the old lifestyle in which you based your relationships on and repent of the old attitudes in your sincerity.

Repentance is a change of direction based on a changed heart. Pray for this new direction and God will help you along the way. Have you acted selfishly or carelessly in your relationships with the opposite sex? Have you sacrificed purity for feelings? Perhaps you are in an improper romantic relationship now? Will you need to break it off so you can begin to develop a new attitude about dating? Probably so.

Ask God to give you the courage and faith to do His will. Don’t underestimate the power of God working in your life. Remember all believers have the power of the Holy Spirit within them-seek the wisdom and principles of Jesus Christ and ask Him to help you build a new foundation in Him.

Talk With Parents About Helping You Keep a Clean Slate

Once you have buried the past and it is dead and gone, you can now develop a new attitude dependent upon a Godly foundation. Ask your parents to help you maintain a clean slate through accountability. Accountability is very important in maintaining a new heart and mind about your relationships.

Don’t hide your relationships from your parents; instead talk to them about any new relationships or new friendships that you would like to get to know better. Be accountable for your actions and have your parent’s involvement in any decision-making. Hopefully your parents will be giving you wisdom based on their love for Christ. Building a new foundation starts with Godly wisdom and accountability, both of which should come from your parents, which they receive from God.

Of course, Jesus Christ and His principles show us the way to being accountable for our actions, having the support and encouragement of parents is a blessing in disguise. When young people hide their relationships from their parents it can result in not understanding God’s wisdom for their lives. Remember that no matter what, having a good relationship with Jesus Christ will put Him at the top of your priority list and will help you to live a life that is pleasing to Him. Prayer is your gateway to a close relationship with Jesus Christ.

Establish Protective Guidelines For Your Relationships

If we want to maintain a new heart and mind toward purity then we’ll have to make some protective guidelines for ourselves that keep us from being tempted when with the opposite sex. This is one reason why I wrote in our new book about having “friendships in the Lord”, which only means pure friendships with the opposite sex.

An excellent guideline, in my opinion for Christian single people to follow is never be alone in the same room with someone of the opposite sex. Invite them over to your home only when your parents or roommate or someone else is there with you. Only meet them at events and functions where there are other people. This is how you keep yourself from being tempted. Put protective guidelines in place according to your circumstances.

Finding New Friends

You may find that your old friends are too obsessed with dating, sex, romance and the opposite sex. This will definitely be a determent to your sexual and emotional purity. The fact is, if you truly want to lead a Godly life and put on a new attitude about your relationships, you may need to cut off your old friends and find new friends in the Lord.

Your old friends may mean well, but they just aren’t on the same track as you when it comes to sexual and emotional purity.

Friends can surely influence your heart and mind, and keeping company with friends of bad morals is a bad idea! Of course, pray for your friends and forgive them for their trespasses. I would strongly evaluate their negative influence on your new walk with Jesus Christ. The tables should really be turned here because it is YOU who should be a Godly influence to them! Let your friends see Jesus Christ working on your character so they may turn their life around too.

Overview of Penile Cancer

Penile cancer is cancer of the penis, the male sex organ, and it is not as common as other forms. This penile disorder can develop in people aged 60 years or older, in people that have phimosis (the foreskin can not be pushed back over the glans), people that have poor personal hygiene, people that have too many sexual partners and people that consistently use tobacco Products. The symptoms of this horrible disease include redness, irritation, or the development of a sore on the penis. Another symptom of it includes the development of a lump on the penal itself. A physical exam, the history of the patient, or a biopsy can be used to determine whether or not a person has it.

The chance of recovery and how to determine the treatment options depends on the prognosis of the disease. The prognosis is determined by the stage of the cancer, the location and the size of the tumor, and whether the cancer was just diagnosed or is recurring. There are three main tests performed to determine how far along the cancer has become and those tests are an MRI, a CT Scan, and an Ultrasound. An MRI, short for magnetic resonance imaging, uses radio waves to make a series of pictures of the patient's body. A CT Scan is a procedure that makes a series of pictures of the body from different angles. An Ultrasound is a procedure in which high energy sound waves are bounced off internal tissues or organs which then make echoes. The echoes then form a picture of the body's tissues known as a sonogram.

There are six common stages of this. Those stages include Stage 0, Stage I, Stage II, Stage III, Stage IV and recurrent cancer. Stage O is when abnormal cells are found on the surface of the skin of the penis. These abnormal cells may form into cancer and spread to other parts of the body but they may not spread at all. Stage O is also referred to as carcinoma in situation. Stage I is when the cancer has formed and spread to connective tissue just under the skin of the penis.

Stage II is when the cancer has spread to the tissue of just under the skin of the penis and to one lymph node in the groin or erectile tissue and may have spread to one lymph node in the groin. Stage III penile cancer is when the cancer has spread to the connective tissue or erectile tissue of the penis and to more than one lymph node on one or both sides of the groin or has spread to the urethra or the prostate. Stage IV is when the cancer has spread to tissues near the penis and may have spread to lymph nodes in the groin or the pelvis or has spread to anywhere in or near the penis or to other distant parts of the body. Recurring penile cancer is cancer that has gone away and returned again. The cancer can come back in the penis or in other parts of the body.

Throat Strain In Singers – Tips

One of the most pressing concerns of a vocalist is that of a strained or tight throat. This can result in poor vocal quality, rapid vocal fatigue, and more importantly, damage to the vocal apparatus. Here are some tips to open and relax the throat, no matter how low, high, loud or long the note you have to sing.

The problem comes when we erroneously believe that we must "project" the sound of our voices onto our audience. Think about it … an acoustic guitar does not have a little motor inside it, propelling the sound out, does it? Its sound comes from sound waves that are set in motion inside the body of the guitar by the strings vibrating the wood of the instrument. There is a hole in the guitar, and so this is where the soundwaves escape.

In the same way, vocal sound should come from soundwaves set in motion by the vibrating vocal cords, which transfer the soundwaves to the cartilages of the larynx, which then magnify and send the soundwaves up through resonating spaces and tissues of the mouth, throat, Sinuses, bones, and some say even down to the trachea. Then, the mouth opens and the magnified soundwaves escape.

If the throat is tight, the soundwaves will not reach deep into the resonating spaces, there is seriously effecting the quality of vocal sound. It also affects the upper and lower notes, which must resonate in different areas. Only an open, relaxed throat can allow the subtle changes that must take place for accurate pitch, optimum vocal range, and best blend in middle voice. This is where the singer usually starts to "push" the voice to accomplish the vocal chore necessary, and then the small throat channels get even tighter. Then a downward spiral of truly awful vocal habits is set in motion. What can you do? Did you even know it truly is possible for you to sing without the strain to which you've become accustomed?

First, let's define "the throat": Let's call it the top back of your nasal membrane where the Eustation tubes open, the back of your mouth and the top of your trachea. Trace it by doing this little exercise which i call the 6-way inside stretch:

* Eyes

* Scalp (about where a baseball cap would cover)

* Now try stretching all 6 areas at once (you're face should look a bit crazy)

As you are stretching these places, you may begin to yawn.

Now try pulling a word … try using the word "One". Grab the word by your upper teeth and say it in such a way that the 6-way inside stretch occurs. Try this slowly speaking (pulling) those words "Should … Old … Aquain … tance … Be … For-Got … And … Ne-ver … Brought … To … Mind … "

Now try doing it faster.

Now try singing the melody this way-still pulling words and dropping your throat open. Sing faster. Now that you're laughing … know that you do not exactly have to be this crazy on stage or with friends … BUT … Do try to retain a bit of this animation and try singing it for real.

There are many vocal exercises and vocal training methods.
