The Paradox of Life

I've seen a rich man beg
I've seen a good man sin
I've seen a tough man cry
I've seen a loser win
And a sad man grin
I heard an honest man lie
I've seen the good side of bad
And the down side of up
And everything between

The words above are lyrics from an Everlast song titled "What it's Like"

If an honest man can lie then can a liar tell the truth? If a loser can win then can a winner lose? What if the honest man tells the truth but everyone thinks he is lying? Is any person 100% a liar or 100% a loser or 100% honest or 100% a winner?

What is the "good side of bad?" What is the "bad" side of "good"? What if when an honest man lies he resolves to be more honest … and does? Then although you can say the lie was "bad" it caused a person to better himself … could that be the good side of bad?

What if a person has it all … power … fame … wealth … intelligence … talent … but they waste it … they squareer it … they hoard it … they Do not share it … Could that be the bad side of good?

If a person is born wealthy and is always wealthy it is difficult to appreciate wealth. But if a person knows what it is like to be hungry then they acquire wealth they can really appreciate it.

If no one is 100% "bad" or 100% "good" then no one is 100% "free" or 100% "not free" If the honest man only focused on his "lie" he would miss the beauty of living as A respected person. But if the honest man was grateful for the opportunity to be more honest when he lied he would find the "good" side of "bad".

Think how much you will appreciate your freedom from anxiety and fear when you gain it? Think how much you will have to offer others who are prisoners to their anxiety and panic? Think of how much you will have learned about yourself and life when you come out the other side. Think of the confidence you will have to face other future challenges when you draw from the strength of this victory.

If you look for the "good" side of your panic attacks … the "good side" of your anxiety and fear you may just find something worth appreciating. Find the "good".

Surviving the Fall Allergy Season

Fall is the season of change. It is really beautiful to see the leaves go from a healthy green to a lively orange before the dead of winter claim them. I used to always look forward for fall when I used to live in upstate New York. However the changing weather, from summer to fall or from winter to spring find me at my most miserable time. You see, I suffer from various allergies and it is absolutely horrible with the running nose, the itchy and watery eyes and finally the marathon sneezing, as if my body is trying to break the world record for longest continuous sneezes. These are the worst of all symptoms because they leave me lifeless and exhausted.

To alleviate the symptoms, I left New York State, heck, I left the entire northeast section of the United States and moved to Florida to escape the changing whims of the weather to no avail. Don’t get me wrong, it was alleviated but I still suffered from time to time with allergies and the fall season seems to be the worst.

There are several ways to deal with allergies. You can move from one state to the other (like I did) or you can take one of the several classes of drugs available on the market: antihistamines, decongestants, mast cells stabilizers or leukotrienes modifiers or even steroids. Drugs such as diphenhydramine, loratadine(Claritin, Alavert), cetirizine (Zyrtec) or clemastine (Tavist), montelukast (Singulair), . These are highly effective at alleviating the symptoms of allergies, especially the runny nose and watery eyes symptoms. However, they come with the side effects of drowsiness and the feeling that you are having an out of body experience. If you have tried these to no avail or you want to try something different, there is still hope for allergy sufferers in the form of natural remedies:

Antihistamines: These drugs block histamine, a chemical released by our immune system during an allergic reaction.

Grape Seed Extract, unique flavanoids, with very powerful antioxidant properties. Laboratory studies have shown that grape seed can be up to 20 times more powerful than vitamin C and 50 times more powerful than vitamin E in antioxidant capability.

Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), probably best known for its effects as an antioxidant and its role in maintaining proper immune function.

Leukotriene Modifiers: These drugs block the effects of leukotrienes, inflammatory chemicals released by your immune system during an allergic reaction. Such medications have proved most effective in treating allergic asthma, but they also relieve hay fever.

Butterbur, seems to significantly reduce the bothersome allergic symptoms (1). The doctors concluded that it is effective and well tolerated. In some cases doctors even recommended butterbur as first line therapy for seasonal allergies along such accepted conventional treatment as Zyrtec (cetirizine) (2). Petadolex is a patented form of butterbur extracted from the root and standardized to contain a minimum of 15% of petasin and isopetasin.

Mast Cell Stabilizers: Mast cell stabilizers prevent the release of histamine, the same inflammatory chemical that antihistamines stop. They may also reduce the inflammation associated with hay fever and allergic rhinitis.

Quercetin, may be useful in relieving hay fever and sinusitis as a result of its ability to reduce inflammation in the airways and the release of histamine. It appears to block allergic reactions to pollen as well.(3)

Stinging Nettles, preliminary evidence is showing that stinging nettle above ground parts might improve symptoms of allergic rhinitis. Starting stinging nettle at the first sign of symptoms seems to provide subjective improvement (4).

Natural D-Hist contains vitamin C, Quercetin, Stinging Nettles, Bromelain and N-Acetyl cysteine. So you get all the benefits of an antihistamine without taking too many pills.

In this allergy season, know your natural therapies options so that you don’t have to suffer through this bothersome disease and enjoy the fall foliage and the arrival of winter. I know I will.

Choosing Makeup For Black Skin

Finding makeup for black skin used to be a problem. There is a very wide range of makeup available in every department store you go into but it used to be very difficult to find makeup that was actually suitable for black skin. Certain cosmetic companies have now realized that women of color have needs too and also have money to spend and they have created products accordingly.

Choosing A Foundation

The type of foundation for black skin that you may need for the summer and winter will be different due the different weather conditions. This will affect your skin and of course everyone tans during the summer so your winter foundation will be too dark. The best solution is to use two foundation products and combine them.

Choosing A Blusher

The best types of blushers that suit darker skin are the bolder colors of red or burgundy. This needs to be applied lightly along the cheekbone in order to emphasize your bone structure. Try not to apply too much otherwise you will end up looking like a painted doll and that is not the look that we are after.

Choosing Color For Your Eyes

To emphasize your eyes I would always recommend that you use black eyeliner. This can be a pencil or liquid eyeliner, depending on your skill. If you have a very steady hand the liquid eyeliner will be great and give you a lovely thin line just above your eye lashes. An eye pencil is much easier to apply and I would recommend this for beginners.

Fantastic shades of eye shadows that compliment brown skin are burgundies and plums. Use a small brush and apply this very light on your eye socket just above your eye liner application.

Choosing A Lipstick

A great choice in lip color to flatter your blusher and eye shadow is plum or brown or a nice deep red. If you are going to use a lip liner always ensure that it is the same color as your lipstick. They should blend 100%.

So now that you have a few tips to help you to choose makeup that is suitable for women of color, get out there and start experimenting.

Gall Bladder, Its Function in Human Body

The gallbladder is the pear-shape part organ that stores regarding 45 ml of the bile on the body. The Gall bladder supplies it awaiting the body needs it for digestion. The Gallbladders in human are on 6-9cm lengthy and were dark green in shade owing to its bile filling and not used for its tissue. The Gall bladder is associated to the duodenum and liver through the biliary zone. Every mammal does not have gallbladders. For instance, horse and rat do not include a gall bladder intended meant for the storing of bile. Generally, gallbladder is connected to bile duct throughout the gall bladder pipe. The biliary zone run from the duodenum to liver and cystic duct is capably a ‘cul de sac’ that serves up as the entrance and departs to the gallbladder. The Gallbladder stores bile which is released if the foodstuff containing fat go into the digestive part by stimulating the emission of cholecystokinin. Where the bile released, deactivates acids in partially digest foodstuff along with emulsifies fats. Bile turn out to be more powerful after being stock up to the bladder than, if it is unconfined by liver through escalating its result on fats and mounting its potency. The gall Bladder cancer refers to one of the numerous types of malignant increase of the urinary bladder of the body. The Bladder cancer is a disease, wherever the abnormal cells increase devoid of control in the bladder. Gallbladder disease commonly affects men and women. Though, men can suffer less than women.

The symptoms of gall bladder vary from uneasiness to pain which begins after food. During the harsh cases the patients suffer from nausea, jaundice and fever. The common causes of gallbladder disease are gallstones. These are hard stones which are formed inside the gall due to bile salt, cholesterol and calcium.
Some of the common types of gall bladder disease and its symptoms are: Chronic inflammation of the gall bladder. Sporadic pains in the center of the upper abdomen, or just under the ribs on the right side, the frequency and severity of attacks is very variable, the pain can be accompanied by vomiting and nausea and sometimes extreme wind, the pain may spread to the right shoulder or between the shoulder blades.
Acute cholecystitis: persistent pain and a fever lasting more than 12 hours, patients with sharp cholecystitis may not constantly have gallstones but usually do, pain and tenderness under the ribs on the right side.
Jaundice: the symptoms are: the skin can turn into itchy, increasingly yellow eyes and skin, pale bowel motion and dim urine, fever and trembling chills are serious symptoms and should be treated by a doctor.

When adrenal gland is tired – Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

What is the adrenal gland?

Adrenal glands are small, triangular, located on top of the kidneys. They regulate the body’s response to stress through the synthesis of corticosteroids and catecholamines, including adrenaline and cortisol. Inefficient functioning of the adrenal glands can lead to their fatigue.

Because dysfunction of these glands, cortisol levels in the body decreases. And it is necessary to fight against stress and infection. Adrenal insufficiency may give rise to a number of health problems. They can disrupt blood sugar metabolism, leading to fatigue and weakness.

Causes of adrenal fatigue

One of the most common causes and often overlooked is fatigue or severe infection that gives rise to an inflammatory response. Stress, on the other hand, is the most common cause of adrenal glands. Excessive stress may be due to work pressure, job change, death of a loved one, marital problems and / or physical illness.

Other factors that contribute to adrenal stress are feelings of fear, anger, guilt, depression, anxiety, excessive exercise, physical or mental strain, lack of sleep, trauma, surgery, toxic exposure, chronic pain, chronic infection, digestion poor, chronic, low blood sugar and nutritional deficiencies.

Stages of adrenal fatigue

In the first stage, in response to increased stress levels, is secreted higher levels of adrenaline. Adrenal cortex is stimulated to produce cortisol and other hormones.

The second stage, known as adaptation or resistance stage starts when there is constant stress. When excessive levels of adrenal hormones is supported. They are secreted to increase blood sugar levels and blood pressure. Corticosteroids are produced by the adrenal cortex to resistance reaction.

The third stage is known as exhaustion. At this stage, the body’s ability to cope with stress is exhausted. Adrenal hormones drop from excessively high to extremely low. There is adrenal exhaustion. Which means: low tolerance to stress, physical and psychological progressive exhaustion, different diseases and then total collapse.

Symptoms of adrenal fatigue

– Unrefreshing sleep;

– Excessive fatigue and exhaustion;

– Cravings for sweet or salty foods;

– The feeling that you’re overwhelmed and can not handle stress;

– Low resistance, slow recovery after exercise;

– Decreased immune function;

– Difficulty in concentrating;

– Poor digestion;

– Premenstrual syndrome or difficulties developed during menopause;

– Extreme sensitivity to cold;

– Constant low blood pressure;

– Tendency to gain weight and unable to lose;

– Tendency to tremble under pressure;

– High frequency of getting flu and other respiratory diseases;

– Suddenly you feel better after eating, but for a short period;

– Pain in the upper back (cervical) without apparent reason;

– You feel better when stress is relieved, such as when you’re on vacation.

Other signs of adrenal fatigue are different food allergies, palpitations, decreased ability to manage stress, lack of energy, decreased body temperature, hypoglycemia, dry and thin skin, unexplained hair loss, nervousness and dyspepsia (impaired digestion process manifested by pain, bloating and so on).

How do you treat it?

Treatment for adrenal fatigue include a proper diet and lifestyle changes. The diet should contain adequate amounts of protein and complex carbohydrates. Avoid fast food, coffee, sodas and processed foods, tobacco and alcohol. You need to do some exercises such as yoga, deep breathing, walking or meditation. Nutritional supplements are important for nourishing and strengthening the adrenal glands. This will help restore their healthy functioning.

Calivita natural supplements for healthy adrenal glands

– Evening Primrose Oil contributes to the proper functioning of the thyroid and adrenal glands. Also, late complications of diabetes, eliminate the unpleasant symptoms associated with the menstrual cycle and acts as a protector of the liver and kidneys.

– Natural Syrup made from Noni fruit, in Noni Liquid supplement form, is very beneficial in stress, anxiety and depression, and provides a good general condition, both physically and mentally, so preventing many diseases and establishing an inner balance.

Type 2 Diabetes – Stomach Bypass Surgery May Be Helpful in Diabetic Kidney Disease

Stomach bypass surgery, originally developed for weight loss in highly obese individuals, is now used for Type 2 diabetes control as well. Scientists at Heidelberg University in Heidelberg, Germany, found the procedure is also suitable for helping diabetic kidney disease.

The journal Deutsches Ärzteblatt International reported in December 2016 on twenty people taking insulin for Type 2 diabetes and who saw improvement in their kidney function after the roux-en-y gastric bypass (RYGB). These Type 2 diabetics were moderately overweight or obese, with a body mass index ranging between 25 and 35. One year later and again at two years later, blood and urine testing showed their kidneys were working more efficiently and clearing more waste from their bloodstream. The researchers concluded the RYGB stomach bypass surgery could be a treatment option for overweight or moderately obese Type 2 diabetics with diabetic nephropathy.

Signs and symptoms of diabetic nephropathy include…

  • a protein, albumin, found in the urine,
  • high levels of blood urea nitrogen,
  • elevated levels of creatinine in the blood,
  • high blood pressure readings,
  • leg swelling and cramps,
  • urinating frequently at night,
  • a lower need for antidiabetic medications,
  • nausea and vomiting in the morning,
  • weakness, pale skin, low red blood cell count (anemia), and
  • unusual itching.

Controlling blood sugar levels helps prevent kidney disease and many other complications. Maintaining a healthy weight, eating a proper diet, getting enough physical activity, and taking medications on schedule, all contribute to the prevention of complications.

When diabetic kidney disease does strike, treatment begins with medications called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. When angiotensin II enters the bloodstream your blood vessels become narrower. ACE inhibitors allow the blood vessels to relax and lower blood pressure, putting less stress on the kidneys. The medications are also used to reduce the risk of heart disease and strokes. Some ACE inhibitors include…

  • Lotensin (benazepril),
  • Capoten (captopril),
  • Vasotec, Epaned (enalapril),
  • Monopril (fosinopril),
  • Prinivil, Zestril (lisinopril),
  • Univasc (moexipril),
  • Aceon (perindopril),
  • Accupril (quinapril),
  • Altace (ramipril),
  • Mavik (trandolapril).

When ACE inhibitors fail, dialysis or kidney transplantation are the next options…

1. Hemodialysis consists of using tubes to run the blood through a dialysis machine that contains an artificial kidney. Peritoneal dialysis filters the blood from inside the body. Both types of dialysis remove waste, salt, potassium, and water as needed.

2. A kidney may be transplanted from a donor if the donor and Type 2 diabetic have compatible blood and molecules known as HLA antigens. This compatibility helps keep the recipient’s body from rejecting the new kidney. Medications to suppress the recipient’s immune system also contribute to preventing rejection.

Sports Nutrition & Health – 5 Foods All Athletes Should eat

There are several foods all athletes should eat in the days before an event to ensure peak performance. They include:

1. Whole grains-whole grain food such as cereal, bagels, pasta, and bread give good, long-lasting energy to the whole body. As the most important food group, athletes should eat many whole grains carbohydrates before an event.

2. Peanut butter-peanut butter is a good source of protein and essential fats, and it is easy to carry and eat on the go. Other protein sources will work as well, such as lean meat or dairy; The important thing is to get adequate protein before and after a work out. Protein helps the body in maintaining aerobic metabolism instead of anaerobic metabolism, which results in the body from taking protein from lean tissue. Adequate protein speeds recovery and assists in actual performance situations.

3. Fresh fruits and vegetables-fresh produce is a great way to get vitamins and minerals that help the body function as normal. They are usually fat-free and contain lots of energy for the body to use during exercise. Some fruits, such as bananas, contain potassium, a mineral that regulates water levels in the body and stabilizes muscle contraction. Low potassium levels can lead to muscle cramps and fatigue, so eating potassium-rich foods is a good idea. However, it is important to regulate potassium intake, because too much too quickly can lead to a heart attack. Athletes should take in 435 milligrams of potassium for every hour they exercise. While potassium does not aid in actual performance, it speeds recovery and should be considered as one of the most important supplements to an exercise program.

Another benefit of fruits and vegetables is iron. Chick peas, spinach, asparagus, broccoli, apricots, and figs are all good sources of iron, a nutrient that prevails fatigue, headaches, lack of stamina, and boosts the immune system. Athletes are generally at risk for anemia, having too little iron in the blood, because of the amount iron used in exercise. Recommended daily intakes are 6-11 milligrams, a number easily attained by eating leafy green vegetables or foods rich in vitamin C.

4. Calcium-Rich Foods-foods such as cheese, yogurt, and milk contain necessary calcium, which creates strong bones and protects athletes from injury. These dairy products are also a good source of protein, but they should be eaten well before an event, as they take some time to process. If the body does not tolerate dairy well, supplements should be included to ensure that athletes receive the recommended daily intake of 1000 milligrams. As an example, a cup of skim milk provides about 300 milligrams of calcium.

5. Fiber-Rich Foods-Fiber is the nutritional component that keeps athletes full and regulates the digestive tract. Many of the foods already mentioned include fiber, but it is important for coaches to know which foods help athletes regulate fiber levels. Examples of fiber-rich foods include whole grains, apples, berries, almonds, and legumes. A simple way to determine the necessary amount of fiber is to add 5 to the athlete's age. For example, a 10-year-old athlete needs about 15 grams of fiber daily. After the age of 15, athletes need 20-25 grams of fiber a day.

Panic Attack After Illness

Many people may go through a panic attack after illness. However, for the majority of them, it never turns into a problem and usually goes away.

On rare occasions, it does turn into a problem. The panic attacks persist and can turn into a panic disorder. It's estimated that 3 in 100 of these will turn into a panic disorder.

Major Changes Can Cause Anxiety

Sometimes, a person may have a panic attack after a major life change. For example, some women have reported panic attacks after childbirth.

Sometimes, the loss of a loved one (or a pet) can trigger anxiety and panicky sensations. A change in jobs, studying for a major examination and even getting married could bring about a panic attack.

Illnesses like thyroid problems or diabetes can also cause a person to experience the misery of repeated panic attacks. However, in most of these cases, once the illness is taken care of, the anxiety attacks should go away.

But not always. Some people are sooner to getting panic attacks. It's written in their blueprint. On these rare occasions, even after the illness is gone or is under control, the panic attacks remain.

It can then turn into a panic disorder. For those who suffer a panic attack, but have different chemical, physical and emotional reactions, they will never be bothered by it.

The unlucky few that drew the short straw in life will end up with repeated panic attacks, turning into a panic disorder. But, all is not lost, and frankly, never is.

Getting Well And Living Life Again

If you do go through a panic attack after illness and it persists, try not to worry, but you must do something about it. Taking care of it can be a time-consuming exercise, so it's best to deal with it sooner rather than later.

You can go on medication along with therapy and things will start to pick up for you. Sometimes, a medication might not work, so you'll have to go off it and try another.

You'll also have to wait for the drugs to kick in. This is why it takes time and you must remain patient and focused. Motivation and a positive attitude are a must.

You can also try alternative therapies and herbal remedies. Hypnosis for panic disorder is an excellent form of treatment. You can even learn to apply it by yourself.

Herbal products like PureCalm have been effective for many people and it's something I would highly recommend trying. It's also quite safe and should not have side effects.

Make sure to educate yourself as well. By knowing what's happening to your body (and why), you will always be armed with information on how to deal with your panic.

Are You Looking For Some Free Human Growth Hormones? Check Your Legs

Lots of Benefits

HGH or human growth hormone is naturally produced by our bodies and it has many functions, it controls tissue and muscle growth, cell repair and body fat. It also has positive effects on your metabolism and energy levels. For athletes it offers many obvious benefits, like increased muscle mass which can lead to better performance. For regular people it can have anti-aging effects and will help with weight loss.

The only problem is that as we grow older the body decrees the production of this hormone. So in order to harness all the positive effects drugs have been developed to increase the hormone levels. The only problem with drugs is the possibility of abuse which can health to health problems and also the high cost.

Free HGH from working out

A lot of people skip leg workouts at the gym, which is why you see a lot of males with "chicken legs", but huge upper bodies. Also many females only work out their inner and outer thighs, their arms or only run on the treadmill. So if you're like me and want to benefit from this wonderful drug safely and cheaply. You will want to workout your legs.

When we engage in weight training, we are essentially applying stress to our bodies, a controlled stress that tears and breaks up tissues and fibers. In response that stress our bodies produces testosterone and hgh to help with the healing and repairing process.

So why the legs?

The harder we workout and the more stress we put on our bodies, the more HGH is produced. So, if you take a look at your body what is the largest muscle group? Obviously the legs! The quads, hammies, thighs, calves and glutes make up roughly seventy percent of the bodies muscle. Since our legs make up the largest percent, the body will need to produce a lot more testosterone and human growth hormone to compensate when we work them out.

To get the full benefits, you'll want to core leg workouts like deadlifts, step ups, lunges and especially squats to be part of your leg workout routine. So if you want to get lean, get stronger and stay younger you'll want to get a proper leg workout.

Have Sclerosis Of The Liver? These Foods Have Got To Go

If you have sclerosis of the liver, or you know someone who does, then I bet you’re looking for some information about the types of foods you should avoid. Well, first, let me just clear up one thing. Sclerosis of the liver is usually referred to as cirrhosis of the liver. That may help you with your internet searches.

In the meantime, hopefully I can help with some of your questions about sclerosis of the liver / cirrhosis of the liver.

I bet one of your questions is about what you should or shouldn’t eat. While I don’t completely believe in telling anyone what they should or shouldn’t do, I do believe in giving options and allowing you to make your own decisions in your life.

So, while doing some research, I found a few food items that are a good idea to give the boot. Wave goodbye to these food items and see how much better you feel.

#1. I know that salt makes things taste better, but it’s really not good for anyone to eat too much of it. And for someone suffering with sclerosis of the liver, it’s a good idea to really reduce the salt intake. Avoid things such as soy sauce, french fries, potato chips and any other highly-salted food. And remember, salt is hidden in everything. Make sure you read the labels when you go grocery shopping. You can never go wrong with fruits and vegetables…they are naturally not salty!

#2. Many (but not all) cases of sclerosis of the liver are due to chronic alcoholism. And even if yours isn’t caused by alcoholism, do your liver a favor and cut it out. Alcohol is a toxin, and your liver needs a break from toxins.

#3. Unhealthy fats are not good in anyone’s diet, so this one shouldn’t be surprising. Trans fats are absolutely a no-no…for everyone. They are harmful, and not at all helpful for your body. Trans fats are found in things like margarine, potato chips, pancake mix and many of the packaged goodies that you can find in the stores.

Once again, you’ll have to read labels to find these fats. Also avoid saturated fats. But, know that there are such things as healthy fats, and those are essential for your body. These fats can be found in salmon, walnuts, avocado and olive oil.

Now you know some foods you can send off with a friendly wave. It’s a good idea to treat your body right whether you have sclerosis of the liver or not. And when you do that, your body will respond and treat you great too.

Molecular Medicine and Patient-Tailored Therapy

Most human diseases are caused by functional dysregulation / dysfunction of protein interactions, and while this starts from the genetic level or through epigenetic effects, the complex biological processes and information flow within the cell and through the organism are driven through protein-protein interactions.

Through molecular medicine, the molecular mechanisms / pathology of human diseases have been studied with the aim of providing effective and safe therapeutics, and in defining patients' disease profile and prognosis. The sequencing of the human genome has created impressive opportunities to characterize diseases by their molecular fingerprint and thus using this genome-wide information to elucidate mechanistic pathways thatby preventing the development of preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, which may be done on an individual basis, Ie personalized molecular medicine.

Genetic markers in human cancers have been identified through gene expression studies. Once limited to a few genes, these studies now enable large-scale gene expression analysis of genes expressed in a tumor cell. Gene expression by DNA-microarray employs nucleic acid hybridization with complementary probes immobilized on a solid surface, thus enabling the monitoring of the expression of thousands of genes from tumor samples. While functional and comparative genomics, transcriptomics and gene lists have driven molecular medicine for years, the post-genomic era has resolved in a shift from purely genome-based approaches to proteomics. Clinical proteomics (bringing proteomics to the bedside) seek to characterize information flow through the intra- and extracellular molecular protein circuitry attributable to the interactions of organs with the circulatory system. The proteomics approach offers the advantage of identifying new biomarkers for diseases since there is increased diversity through extensive RNA splicing and posttranslational modifications, which can not be ascertained through genomic approaches alone.

The clinical proteomics branch of molecular medicine has been very important in the development of biomarkers and therapeutics in cancer. This is due to the fact that while cancer may be classified as a genetic disease based on genetic mutations that modify protein signaling pathways, functionally; It is a proteomic disease or the product of the proteomic tissue microenvironment. Proteomic patterns derived from patient samples have had a major impact on the diagnosis, monitoring and patient stratification in several malignancies with the hope that the integration of genomic, proteomic and pharmacogenomic information will redefine disease profiling and therapy.

The vast array of molecular techniques available will enable genomic and proteomic profiling of patients with the aim of finding / developing biomarkers / biosensors for diagnosis, prognosis, drug responsiveness, therapeutics for new diseases. These molecular techniques that are at the fore front of molecular medicine will translate into bedside realities and provide tools for patient disease profiling and patient-tailor effective therapies.

Dog Infections 101 Secrets

A dog might suffer a number of diseases during its lifetime. Being attentive of these illnesses and the correct method to care for them can assist you greatly in caring for your dog better. Dogs should be vaccinated and given booster at least once every 6 months to keep them safe.

Your dog can be vaccinated against hepatitis, distemper, rabies, corona, leptospirosis, kennel cough and parvo. He could suffer at some point from domestic or outdoor parasites and there are many different types of infections which a dog owner should know about.

You might consider getting Pet Insurance if you have one or more pets. A small occasional investment and decent care for your pet usually cost much less than risking an infection and having to fork out hundreds of dollars to treat them later.

The Parvo strain of virus is the most common and deadliest dog infection. Symptoms may include vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration and eventually death.

Distemper is another viral infection. Symptoms may include fever, loss of appetite, nasal and eye discharges.

Canine hepatitis also causes comparable symptoms which should be treated with IV fluid therapy, antibiotics and nutritional support(consult your vet first).

Rabies is often spread by the bite of another animal. If your dog has rabies, he will behave oddly. A dog can be vaccinated against Rabies from 4 months of age. There is no cure, vaccination is vital.

Leptospirosis is a bacterial virus infection which attacks the dog’s kidneys and liver. Consuming contaminated liquids or infected urine from another dog can cause Leptospirosis. Fever, yellow gums, depression and blood in the dog’s urine might mean leptospirosis.

Kennel cough, or Bordatella, is a respiratory tract disease. Kennel cough symptoms often include a loud and coarse cough nasal and eye discharges. The treatment is usually anti-inflammatory medication, cough suppressants and antibiotics.

The dog infection Coronavirus or Corona for short is one of the more contagious viral illness. Vomiting, diarrhea and weight loss are possible warning symptoms and should be looked into. Antibiotics and IV fluids are used in the treatment of Corona.

Another highly common dog infection is the infection to it’s ears. Symptoms include pawing at the ears and shaking of the head constantly. You should examine your dog’s ears every month and take him to your local vet for treatment if you spot any signs, as soon as possible. Even common ear infections like blood clots may cause deafness and even lead to extreme blindness if not treated properly.

A few more obvious indications of a dog infection are heat, swelling and sluggishness. Appearing to be in hurt or pain, fretfulness or listlessness are also some more obvious indications.

If the infection is intense, then the dog might have a high temperature and be swollen around the neck, armpits or groin area. If you are unable to get to a vet straight away, you should keep the dog lying down to avoid any physical exertion that might lead to the infection spreading more quickly.

Dogs with infections might reject food and water so it is important to seek your vet’s advice.

Infections can be dangerous anywhere in a dog’s body but especially if they are around the body’s ‘wet’ regions like the nose or mouth as they could spread quicker to the blood stream and eventually to the vital organs. The key thing is to get your dog immunized as soon as he is old enough. Also be sure to follow up with a yearly injected or oral course booster.

Remember, your dog is part of the family and if you find your dog acting a little unusual or a bit ill, call the vet to schedule an appointment immediately. A dog’s body doesn’t work like a human body, dog infections can become severe very quickly and it won’t be a good idea to wait and see if the infection or illness heals itself.

Processing Raw Honey – How To Make It Fit For Human Consumption

When the bee keeper removes the honey from the honey combs he has to process the raw honey immediately to prevent it from crystallizing. Once the row honey comes into contact with the oxygen in the air it reacts and begins to crystallize immediately. This does not happen in the honey comb as the wax caps over each cell in the comb keeps the honey away from the air.

Apart from processing the raw honey to prevent crystallization, the bee keeper has to kill some very potent bacterium in the honey to prevent poisoning. This is the bacteria that cause the symptoms of botulism in humans. These symptoms are better known as ‘food poisoning’ and are removed by heating the raw honey for some time at temperatures between 150 to 170 degrees centigrade.

Honey is naturally sweater than processed sugar and is stored in its natural color. Sugar made from sugarcane is bleached to remove the natural brown color of sugar. This is why table sugar is white and crystallized.

Honey is a whitish substance that is very gooey in nature in its raw form. It is only the pasteurizing process that causes it to get that yellowish color. When the honey is processed on a hot fire it begins to caramelize, very much the same way sugar does. Honey has a very long shelf life and cam be kept for years after processing. People buy honey for it’s medicinal value as it has many vitamins and an extremely high amount of antioxidants and digestive enzymes. The healthy properties of honey cannot be enumerated in this short article.

Honey is fast taking its rightful place in society by replacing many substances that aggravate diabetes. For instance corn syrup is being replaced by honey as corn syrup is a known cause of diabetes. Corn syrup is a product of man through many automated and mechanical processes where as honey is only processed to remove bacteria from its constituents. Any sweet produced by man is a sure cause of diabetes. Natural sugars are not.

Honey has a lot of medicinal values too. For instance it is used as a topical application to treat conditions like MRSA, this is a type skin infection. Honey is also known to be very good for the treatment of laryngitis. A bit of honey mixed with a bit of lemon will sooth your throat as it does contagious conjunctivitis.

Beekeepers across the world like to stick to the organic way of processing honey because they do not believe in using harmful chemicals to purify their produce. These chemicals if used will destroy the many benefits of honey in its natural form. This is something the large manufacturers of honey cannot guarantee, many of them do use harmful chemicals to process the honey they sell. This is the reason people stick to local farmers for their supply of honey.
