5 Tips to Reduce Menopause Hot Flashes

Women going though menopause are guaranteed the inconvenience of hot flashes.

These hot flashes can happen any time of the day or night, sometimes resulting in waking you up from even the deepest sleep. Hot flashes occasion because of the decreed estrogen level in the female body. Hot flashes cause insomnia, anxiety, and panic attacks Sadly enough, while they will occur during menopause here are five tips to reduce menopause hot flashes.

The number one way to relieve hot flashes, as recommended by doctors is through HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy). This is the means in which synthetic estrogen, and progesterone is added to the body to help balance out the loss of estrogen, thus causing the hot flash. This method of treatment does have side-effects such as nausea, irregular bleeding, and headaches. Another known fact about HRT is that if you have a family history of breast cancer, it might not be the best method in treating your symptoms, but it is a very efficient means of relieving hot flashes.

Another very useful means is to log your hot flashes. Keep a record of when they begin, and how long they last. Make sure you document the situation you were in when it came on so that you can determine if there are any triggers that are causing them. Once you get used to logging your hot flashes and the possible triggers that caused them, it becomes easier to avoid those triggers. While triggers are not the only cause of hot flashes and you may still have them anyway, this is still a useful empowerment for you to really give yourself an evaluation to see if there are lifestyle changes needed during this transition.

Exercise is also a very positive means of reducing hot flashes during menopause. Exercise helps increase the levels of serotonin which is a neurotransmitter directly linked to hormone levels. Since it is the depletion of estrogen, adding the benefits of exercise to get your serotonin level charged, it can help stave off anxiety and panic, two results of having chronic hot flashes. Another great medium of exercise is Yoga. For those who would rather have a more relaxing exercise time than the contemporary aerobic exercise, this is wonderful for dealing with the anxiety and panic. It helps give focus, and clarity to the brain as well.

One thing that you can control is the thermostat in your home. Find ways to effectively cool down the body. Set temperature controls at comfortable levels. Dress in pure cotton clothing because it allows the skin to breath. Applying ice to the neck and wrists is a wonderful way to cool down the body. Also, take cool showers and drink plenty of cool water when you feel a hot flash coming on.

Stress is a major cause of hot flashes during menopause. During the time that you are logging your hot flashes, take careful note of stressful situations. Try to avoid stress by using relaxation methods, such as deep breathing. Find time for yourself to reflect and have quiet time. This can be done by taking a quiet walk, or finding a place that you can just sit and think. With our society under so much stress, this can sometimes be difficult but along with the medications used for menopause, there are some things that you will have to take control of. By relieving those areas of stress, you can help relieve your hot flashes, and eventually cause them to dissipate.

Make A Difference With Shingle Recycling!

Shingle recycling has gained momentum in recent years due to comprehensive research and enhancement of its potential marketability. Many industries are taking advantage of this unique opportunity to promote environmental sustainability and conservation through reuse and recycling; one industry needing to embrace this effort is the construction industry which faces increasing waste in its daily activity.

With an ongoing demand for greener solutions in the handling of waste material, roofing companies are encouraged to recycle asphalt shingles to create other viable products and lessen the impact on the environment.

Waste Production

One of the most popular types of residential roofing material used in the United States is asphalt shingles. It makes up a total of eight percent of building-related debris and one to ten percent of annual construction and demolition waste, occupying thousands of cubic yards of landfill space across America according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

There is an estimated eleven million tons of shingle waste produced annually in North America, created by manufacturing scraps, extras from installation, demolition debris, tear-offs and re-roofing. This is an alarming statistic and quite threatening to the environment; modern refuse management strategies must come to the forefront and face this challenge.

Waste Management

In order to establish a cleaner and waste-free society, numerous governmental agencies and other organizations are adopting strategies that can reduce the negative environmental effects of residential demolition and resulting residual debris. As technology evolves, shingle recycling is becoming an effective means to minimize and prevent the adverse impact of such refuse on the environment while also helping economic development and offering other opportunities to enhance the quality of life.

To convert the trash produced from factory rejects, end-runs, demolition scraps and re-roofing projects into renewable products; contaminants such as nails and woods must be removed by a rotating magnet or floatation before being put into grinding equipment. The material is then graded and sized depending on the grinding machine that is used.

Products, Benefits and Application

Since the market is continuously growing and expanding, recycled asphalt shingles can be converted into products such as hot-mix asphalt for use as a paving supplement; cold patch for pothole repair; temporary roads; driveways and parking lot surfacing; dust control; and as a sub-base for road construction – all of which are potential markets and opportunities for shingle recycling. When used as a road paving material, it can enhance pavement performance; prevent rutting; avert thermal fatigue and cracking; and resist wear and moisture damage. After many years of scientific studies and research, this type of waste product is both a good source of profit and an effective means of eradicating waste and increasing landfill space for a greener environment.

The market for shingle recycling has accelerated its growth during the past several years. Researchers and numerous other business enterprises are choosing this green option as one of the best solutions to decrease waste by reducing the burden on landfills; there is also the added benefit of being extremely profitable. Indeed, by processing this type of waste product, ecological-sustainability will be promoted and a great deal of landfill space will be saved. A side effect is a decrease in the amount of virgin oil that is required to produce asphalt paving. Recycling shingles can really make a huge difference in saving the environment!

What is Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a disease that usually affects only women. The women who suffer from endometriosis experience a multitude of symptoms including fatigue, pelvic pain of differing severity, heavy menstrual periods, painful sexual intercourse, lower back pain, painful bowel movements and urination, abdominal bloating, and infertility. Endometriosis occurs when the endometrial cells that normally line the uterus are found outside the uterus in the abdominal cavity. These endometrial cells can implant on any of the reproductive and major organs of the abdominal cavity including the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder, rectum, small and large intestines and the colon. Although it rarely happens endometriosis can also find its way to the lungs, skin and inside the vagina and bladder. Because endometrial tissue is the same as that found inside the uterus it reacts to a woman’s monthly menstrual cycle the same way. As a woman’s hormones change during the month the lining of the uterus builds up with blood and other nutrient rich tissue, creating an inviting home for a fertilized egg. The endometrial tissue implanted outside the uterus responds to the monthly hormonal change in the same way. But unlike the tissue lining the uterus which gets flushed out of the vagina each month during a woman’s period the blood and tissue of endometriosis has no where to go. This blood and tissue inside the pelvic cavity causes irritation, inflammation and scar tissue. The endometrial cells themselves will also grow larger and expand within the abdomen, causing the symptoms to worsen over time. The cause or source of endometriosis is unknown. There have been many theories espoused as to the cause of this condition, but scientific research has failed to prove or disprove any of them. The leading theories as to the cause of endometriosis include: 1. Retrograde Menstruation: During menstruation some of the endometrial tissue “back-flows” through the fallopian tubes and into the abdomen. This could account for how the endometrial tissue gets into the pelvic cavity but research has also shown that 90% of all women experience this retrograde flow and the majority of them do not develop endometriosis. 2. Genetically Inherited: Endometriosis is known to run in families. In fact if a woman is 6 times more at risk of getting this condition if her mother or sister has it. 3. Autoimmune Diseases: Many women who have endometriosis also show some sort of immune system dysfunction. In most cases a healthy immune system will find and destroy endometrial cells growing outside the uterus. 4. Xenoestrogens: Endometriosis is a relatively new disorder. Up until 50 to 100 years ago there were very few documented cases of endometriosis. With the coming of the industrial/technical age it is becoming more and more common. Many link this to the plastic and chemical industries, more specifically plastics and synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. These plastics and chemicals release large amounts of Xenoestrogens into the environment, resulting in what is now called estrogen dominance. Research has shown that endometriosis is estrogen dependent and most treatments involve trying to lower a women’s estrogen level. For any women or young girl who feels they have endometriosis it is important that they talk to their gynecologist about this disease. At this time there is no cure but any gynecologist experienced in the diagnosing and treatment of endometriosis can help formulate a treatment plan that will minimize the endometrial growths and the painful symptoms that go along with them.

5 Fun Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) Facts

Vitamin B2 (also known as riboflavin) is part of the B-complex group of vitamins (a group of vitamins that were initially thought to be the singular vitamin B due to their similar roles in the body). It was discovered in the 1930s when Otto Warburg successfully isolated riboflavin as the result of detailed research into the B-complex vitamins. Riboflavin’s main function is to help your body’s cells break down food for energy but there is a lot more to it than this. In this article I am going to help you learn a little more about this vitamin by providing you with five fun vitamin B2 facts.

1) IT WORKS WITH THE OTHER B-COMPLEX VITAMINS TO GIVE YOU ENERGY:- Although vitamin B2 is required by your body to break down carbohydrates, fats and protein into a form that it can use, it does not work alone. All the B-complex vitamins combine so that the reaction that breaks these macronutrients down into energy can take place. Therefore, whilst it is important that you consume adequate levels of B2 you also need to make sure that you are getting your other B-complex vitamins as well.

2) IT PROMOTES HEALTHY SKIN, VISION AND BLOOD:- Every time your body uses oxygen free radicals are produced as a by-product. These free radicals can damage many structures in the body including blood vessel linings and cell membranes. To protect against these free radicals your body can use molecules called antioxidants. Riboflavin helps your body recycle the antioxidant glutathione which protects the eyes, the skin and the blood vessels from this oxygen based damage. Therefore, vitamin B2 promotes healthy skin, vision and blood by protecting these vital structures.

3) IT CAN BE FOUND IN MULTIPLE FOODS:- This vitamin can be sourced from a variety of foods. In fact you probably consume more vitamin B2 than you realise. Milk is one of the best sources of riboflavin but other dairy products such as cheese and yoghurt also contain good levels. Therefore, if you don’t think you are consuming enough of this vitamin try adding some dairy to your diet.

4) IT IS A WATER SOLUBLE VITAMIN:- Vitamin B2 is a water soluble vitamin which (as you probably guessed from the name) means that it dissolves in water. Your body cannot store water soluble vitamins so you need to make sure that you get the recommended amount of riboflavin each day which is 1.3mg for men and 1.1mg for women. Water soluble vitamins are also very sensitive to light meaning that you should try and store foods containing B2 in a dark place and keep them away from intense lighting.

5) NOT GETTING ENOUGH CAN CAUSE SKIN PROBLEMS:- Riboflavin deficiency is very rare in developed western countries. However, if your diet is seriously lacking in vitamin B2 it can lead to your skin becoming greasy, scaly or dry. This can ultimately lead to painful cracks and sores developing on your skin.

I hope this article has given you a greater understanding of vitamin B2 and the role it plays in your body It allows your body’s cells to extract energy from the food you eat and also plays a key role in protecting them from oxidative damage. Therefore, it is essential for healthy living.

How to Make a Popular Girl Like You – Here Are the Keys to Easily Win Her Heart Fast

If you have your eyes set on a popular girl, then you will have to work hard to impress her. Since she is popular, she has the benefit of being the “prize.” And since she is coveted you have to work harder to get her attention. But it is not an impossible task to get a popular girl to like you. All you need is a strategy that will work. Here are a few great ways of making a popular girl like you.

Ooze confidence

For her to take notice of you, you will have to be very confident. Why would she go out with a guy who is a wimp? So, work on your confidence and be absolutely self assured when you are around her.

Be the leader

You will fade in the background if you are not the leader. It is only leaders who get noticed and it is only leaders who get all the popular girls. Dunk the notion of being in the herd and following a pattern. Set your own methods and make your own notions and let people around you follow them. Make sure that the popular girl is around when all this action is happening.

Don’t care about your surroundings

Have an “I don’t care a damn” attitude surround you. Be open and playful around the girl you like and don’t conform to social norms if you want to say something.

Acknowledge her but that’s it!

You will also have to play some mind games here to get her attention. So when you see this girl, just acknowledge her and nothing more. Make her feel like yes she is popular but you are not crazy about her.

Don’t go overboard with the compliments

Be civil and polite with her and pay her a quirky compliment or two but don’t go overboard with the complimenting. Since she is popular she is used to being complimented. What she is not used to is being ignored. So, if you want her to get attracted to you, pay her a compliment and then ignore her. When you challenge her position it is then that you will get her attention.

Dress to kill

You will also have to look like a good package…one that is worth chasing if you want to attract a girl that you like. So look the part and dress to kill.

Don’t be a recluse

You might not be the most popular guy around but being a complete recluse is not going to help. Look like a fun guy who has friends and you will have a popular girl inching towards you.

Type 2 Diabetes – Is Chronic Inflammation The Link to Developing Diabetes?

Chronic inflammation has long been associated with Type 2 diabetes. According to scientists at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences in Tokushima, Japan, inflammation throughout the whole body is linked with Type 2 diabetes in people without any diabetic relatives.

In March of 2017, the journal Science Reports published the results of a study on 11,102 participants between 35 and 69 years of age. Researchers measured the C-reactive protein (CRP), an inflammatory molecule, to learn whether general inflammation could be linked with Type 2 diabetes regardless of family history…

  • the CRP levels were higher in the participants with Type 2 diabetes than in those without.
  • among the Type 2 diabetes participants, the CRP was elevated more in those without a family history of the condition than in those with a family history of diabetes or an unknown family health history.

The link held regardless of their weight-for-height. Are we dealing with more than one disease? One inheritable disease and one purely from inflammation! More work will tell.

Inflammation evolved as a strategy for fighting foreign invaders and helping with wound-healing. When inflammation becomes chronic, lasting months or years, it can cause the following aside from Type 2 diabetes…

  • lymphomas (cancer of the lymph nodes),
  • urinary bladder cancer,
  • heart disease,
  • arthritis,
  • depression, and
  • Alzheimer’s disease.

CRP levels frequently rise when HbA1c levels increase. It has been suggested keeping blood sugar under control could help with inflammation as well.

What makes for high general body inflammation? Macrophages, a type of white blood cell and other cells release several molecules that begin a cascade of reactions, producing molecules such as CRP. Molecules triggering the cascade include…

  • histamine
  • serotonin
  • cytokines IL-1 and TNF-alpha, and
  • chemokines.

Harvard Medical School in the United States recommends an anti-inflammatory diet with a lot of healthy fresh fruits and vegetables.

Some specific foods listed on Harvard’s website include…

  • tomatoes,
  • olive oil,
  • green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, and collard greens,
  • nuts such as almonds and walnuts, and
  • fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, cherries, and oranges.

Harvard recommends avoiding pro-inflammatory foods, such as…

  • refined sugars and carbohydrates including white bread and other baked goods,
  • French fries and fried foods in general,
  • sugar-sweetened beverages,
  • red and processed meats, and
  • margarine and shortening.

Pro-inflammatory foods tend to cause weight gain which can lead to inflammation, but other components of the foods also seem to be at fault. More research is needed to clarify how these foods cause inflammation in the body.

Throat Yeast Infection Symptoms, Causes and Treatment Options

Throat yeast infection symptoms can be painful as well as highly embarrassing. But there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Here you’ll discover effective treatment options, plus, an insight into what causes your horrible infections of the throat in the first place.

Let’s start with the most important issue. At the first sign of the symptoms in your throat, go see your doctor for a proper diagnosis. Throat yeast symptoms (sometimes referred to as ‘thrush’) could be the signs of some other condition or infection, so get professional advice right away.

THROAT YEAST INFECTION SYMPTOMS

Generally speaking, the first sign you’ll probably see is a thick white coating over the tongue, that when scraped off, will show cracks and bleeding underneath. Or, you may see whitish raised spots all over your tongue and mucous membranes. You might even have reddish flat spots on your lips. Other symptoms are difficulty swallowing, burning sensation, etc.

THROAT YEAST INFECTION CAUSES

The symptoms are caused by the Candida Albicans fungus which has overgrown out of control. This fungus is found in our bodies quite naturally, and is normally kept in check by our bodies’ good bacteria. But sometimes the good bacteria is compromised and fails to prevent this fungal overgrowth, leading to thrush. This usually happens because of some underlying cause or causes.

So what exactly are these ‘root’ causes? Although the Candida fungus causes the actual infection, it’s the underlying issues and conditions that compromise your good bacteria and ‘encourage’ the fungus that actually triggers the infection. These are things like; antibiotics / steroid overuse, poorly controlled diabetes, oral sex, diet, lowered immune system, HIV, drug habit, and many more.

MAINSTREAM THROAT YEAST INFECTION TREATMENT

Mainstream treatment usually uses lozenges and / or liquid suspensions (swish and swallow). These are drug-based and can be effective depending on the severity of the throat infection. But, as I said, they are drug-based, and like most drugs can have some nasty side effects. Also, repeat use can allow the infection to build-up a resistance. And they tend to attack the local symptoms not the root causes.

NATURAL HOME REMEDIES TO TREAT THROAT YEAST INFECTION

Because of the perceived inadequacies of mainstream treatment, thrush victims, particularly those with recurring infections, are increasingly using totally natural treatments. Typical home remedies, particularly for throat yeast infection, are things like plain yogurt, apple cider vinegar, garlic, etc. There are many more, but too many to describe here, unfortunately.

However, there’s an online instantly downloadable report which is a complete natural yeast infection treatment system that thousands of sufferers around the world have succesfully used to ditch their yeast infection fast and safely. To get the facts, please go here now http://how-to-get-rid-of-a-yeast-infection.blogspot.com and start on your cure in minutes.

How to Pray and Receive a New Car – Within 4 Weeks!

Last month, one of my readers needed a new

car. He asked the LORD for it. And the Lord

answered and showed him this beautiful,

new SUV.

Only problem was: he had no money to

buy it.

He asked me if I had prayer points to

release the car.

I gave him my closely guarded recipe

my new car and my new house).

Here it is:

1. Pray the prayer of a DOER according

to Phil.4:13 (A friend just christened it,

“The 6 little prayers that move mountains”)

2. Say to the Holy Spirit

– I really desire this car

– but the money is not yet in my

bank account

– how can I create value for OTHERS so

that I’ll be compensated and I can

buy this car?

3. Then the Holy Spirit will

– lead you to go out

– create value

– trade that value for money

– trade that money for the car

Rapid Result

– he was able to create a useful product

– sell it and get the money to buy the

car

– ALL WITHIN 4 WEEKS!

Everyone has benefited – he’s got his dream

car; others are enjoying the product he

created; and the amount of value in the

world has grown for everyone – all within

4 weeks!

In A Nutshell

I have just uncovered to you the

“Secrets” of what is called the

“Prayer of the Doer.”

This is a prayer so powerful, it has

been kept under lock and key by veteran

prayer warriors through the ages.

Among the insiders, it is discussed only

in “hushed” tones.

* It is a mysterious prayer that’s been

known to turn paupers into millionaires

almost overnight.

* Those who’ve been tutored on how to apply

it well have been reported to have started

businesses almost out of nothing and grown

them beyond their wildest dreams… in very

short order.

Please go through this little piece again carefully

and let the Holy Spirit speak to your

heart.

This is how God wants his children

to create value in our world.

Apply these simple steps diligently and you’ll

soon find yourself swimming in the ocean

of abundance.

What Are the Types of Colon Cancer?

Colon cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer among the population of the United States. In particular, it involves the abnormal cancer growth of tissues within the lining of the colon walls. If not appreciated from early stages, it may result in death. Moreover, certain factors may increase a person's risk in contracting this illness, notably obesity, family genes, and anadequate diet and lifestyle. It is always important to know the types of colon cancers which exist as there are different types of treatment for each type.

Essentially, they can be classified in two large groups, acquainted and hereditary colon cancers. Many of these are primarily caused by colonic polyps. Hereditary types include adenomatous polyposis, Gardener's syndrome, non-polyposis colon cancer, Peutz-Jegher's syndrome and Juvenile Polyposis. These hereditary diseases can occur in young people as well, including children and teenagers. The acquired cancers on the other hand usually affect persons over the age of 50.

Here's a brief discussion on the common types of colon cancers:

Adenocarcinomas : these are the most common type of colon cancer that starts off in the glands. There are two subtypes, a mucinous and signet ring cell subtype in which the former accounts for 10-15% of the this cancer while the latter only accounts for 0.1%.

Lymphomas : these are more likely to start in the rectum and occur in rare instances. There are also those that start elsewhere in the body other than the colon and rectum but spread to these areas causing much discomfort in bowel movements. Generally speaking, it accounts for only 0.5% of colorectal cancers.

Leinomyosacrcomas : this type of the cancer illness accounts for less than 2% of colon ailments but they have a high chance of spreading to other areas of the body, causing cancer growths there as well making the disease all the more painful.

Neuroendocrine Tumors : occurring in aggressive and indolent cases, the aggressive neuroendocrine tumors have both small and large cells while those indolent are considered characinoid tumors.

Melanomas: usually start with a melanoma initially appearing somewhere else in the body and then spreading to the colon. It is extremely rare as are lymphomas as they account for only 2% of cancers of the colon.

In most cases, a patient will not be able to state for themselves which type of this cancer they have developed. This is why it is important to receive regular check-ups at a doctor to detect the early symptoms of these conditions. Both heritary and acquired colon cancers are grave diseases as they have a malignant pattern of development. All in all, steps to diminish these occurrences can generally be instituted such as exercising on a regular basis, eating right and having a healthy lifestyle overall. Once these factors are met, unless your genes prove a great risk of acquitting such a disease, then you would have already been on the road to a healthy life!

Fatty Liver Disease, Functions of Liver

The liver is also the largest gland in the human body. It helps keep the body free of toxins, stores glycogen, processes the decomposition of red blood cells, and produces biochemicals necessary to life itself.

Your kidneys and liver are very significant organs, thus you need to keep them as healthy as possible. The main function of the liver and kidneys is to drive out all the toxins that rise from the body’s metabolism. Too much alcohol consumption damages liver function and could cause cirrhosis.

The liver has several functions. One of these is to produce triglycerides, which is a type of fat. This particular type of fat is needed to produce testosterone, estrogen, adrenal hormones and to aid in the production of hormones that are needed to promote new cell growth. The liver will take the fat from the foods that you eat and create triglycerides.

Fatty liver is a condition in which fat accumulates in the liver cells. However simple fatty liver does not damage the liver. Fat accumulation in the liver can be caused by weight gain or diabetes mellitus. Fatty liver can occur with a lean diet and ailments such as tuberculosis and intestinal bypass surgery for obesity. It can also occur while certain drugs like corticosteroids.

The cause of NAFLD is unclear. The most prominent reasons for accumulation of fat in the liver are significant weight gain and diabetes mellitus. Fatty liver can also occur with poor diet and certain illnesses, such as tuberculosis, intestinal bypass surgery for obesity, and specific drugs such as corticosteroids, or heavy alcohol use. Eating fatty food by itself does not produce a fatty liver.

People who drink too much alcohol are likely to suffer from this disease, the liver can handle lots of pressure, but when it is abused, alcohol may lead to the inflammation of the liver which causes the liver to be bigger and eventually when your metabolism stops, excess fat will build up in the liver since the excess fat will go to the liver before it reaches to the blood stream. Soon after that other complications might occur, and it might be more serious and more deadly.

When the cause of your fatty liver is by excessive drinking of alcohol, it will be a good time for you to stop drinking, or if you have a hard time doing it, at least start of by drinking less until you do not drink anymore. It is also advised that if you are an alcoholic you see a doctor or go to rehab, there are a lot of programs given for this. This is a must because alcohol drinkers might bring the disease to another level called Cirrhosis.

Try to take lots of herbs and spices such as ginger, cinnamon, garlic, coriander leaves and fresh turmeric since these help support the liver, heal and protect it, and act as a liver tonic, balancing sugar and lipid levels.

Prepare for ICD-10 Codes Effect

Each year, there are millions of people suffering from kidney ailments. As those numbers are on the rise, the diagnosis code for this code will still rank among your commonly used codes when ICD-10 becomes effective in 2013.

Good tidings: You will almost find a one-to-one code correspondence between ICD-9 2011 and ICD-10 2011for “calculus of kidney and ureter” codes.

The key difference is that ICD-10 offers a code (N20.2) that is proper when the patient has calculi of both the kidney and the ureter. Under ICD-9, you would report the same diagnosis using two codes (592.0 and 592.1).

Instructional news: The ‘includes’ notes for these codes are almost identical for ICD-9 and ICD-10. Take special care in reviewing the ‘excludes’ notes, though, as ICD-10 has two different types of excludes notes that have two different meanings.

According to ICD-9 guidelines, an ‘excludes’ note shows terms that you should code elsewhere. The guidelines state that the term excludes means ‘do not code here’. For instance, an ICD-9 excludes note guides you to assign 275.49 for nephrocalcinosis rather than using a code in the 592 range (Calculus of kidney and ureter).

In comparison, ICD-10 has both “Excludes1” and “Excludes2” notes. As per ICD-10 guidelines, Excludes 1 means ‘NOT CODED HERE.’ As a matter of fact, you should never report the excluded code at the same time as the code above the Excludes 1 note. Excludes 1 means the ‘two conditions cannot take place together’.

Instead, an Excludes2 note tells you that the excluded term should be reported using another code. However if the patient has both conditions you may report both codes. In other words, when an Excludes2 note appears under a code it’s acceptable to use both the code as well as the excluded code together.

An instance of Excludes1: ICD-10 lists an Excludes1 note directly under N20 (Calculus of kidney and ureter). This means the note applies to the entire N20 range. The excluded terms are “nephrocalcinosis” (E83.5-, Disorders of calcium metabolism) and “that with hydronephrosis” (N13.2, Hydronephrosis with renal and ureteral calculous obstruction).

As these terms are listed as an Excludes1 note, you should never report N20 – with N13.2 or the code for nephrocalcinosis (E83.5).

Excludes2example: Code N21.0 (Calculus in bladder) has an Excludes2 note for staghorn calculus indicating you should report N20.0 in place of N21.0 for that diagnosis. However because this is an Excludes2 note, if the documentation shows both “staghorncalculus” (N20.0) and “calculus in bladder” (N21.0), you may use the codes for each on the same claim.

Remember: When ICD-10 goes into effect, you should apply the codes and official guidelines in effect at that time. Learn more at a one-stop medical coding guide like Supercoder.

How to Design a Good Website For Your Business

A good and marketable website is a very important asset to a business. Today, it is essential for every business to have a website. A good website is like a good salesperson, which will lead your prospects closer to closure. One important factor that makes a website good is the design. A well-designed website will capture visitors' interest and make them inquire about your product or service.

Before you come up with the design of your website, you must identify the target audience. What kinds of visitors do you intend to please? How old are they? Which country are they from? If you want to achieve success online, you must create a website that suits the interest of your target audience.

When you work with your designers, make sure that you let them know about your business objective and branding. The experienced designers will understand the expectations and choose the right fonts, colors, theme and pictures to translate your message through the website.

Visitors have very little attention span when they visit your website. If your website can not communicate clearly and capture their attention, they will leave immediately. So, do spend some time to make sure that the design is done thoughtfully.

If your target audience is people who are above 50 years old, you might want to use a larger font. Also, you should use black or dark text on white background to ensure that they can read the words more easily.

Other than the design of a website, you must also consider search engine optimization (SEO). SEO is the process of increasing the overall organic traffic to your website via search engine result pages. And in order to do this, your website must be SEO-friendly. SEO is the bedrock of internet marketing and it starts right when you design your site. So, make sure that your designers understand the importance of SEO and design a SEO-friendly website.

When you are working with your designers, make sure that they clearly understand your expectations. This will prevent any misunderstanding and ensuring that the project will finish on time. Always provide at least 2 websites for references and give them a creative brief.

Remember, a good business website must be both engaging and marketable. Put yourself in your visitors 'shoes and think about what they are going to see on your competitors' websites. Then, work with your designers and ensure that you create something that is better than them.

Emergency Poison Treatment For Dogs

There is nothing as frightening as having your dog accidentally come into contact with some type of poisonous substance. As with humans or any animal, dogs may eat poisonous items, inhale poisonous gases or vapors or get poisons on their skin or hair. Like humans, there are general emergencies procedures that dog owners should know to be able to treat their pet should they suspect poison. It is important to have a few general supplies on hand, but most of what you will need is likely to already be in your house.

Ingested Poisons

If you believe that your dog has eaten something poisonous, the first step is to find out what it was and then call your vet or an emergency treatment center that has information on poisons. If the poison was caustic you do not want to do anything that might cause further damage, so make sure the dog has not eaten anything that will cause a burn. If he or she has, get them to a vet immediately, do not induce vomiting or give them any food or drink unless specifically instructed to do so by the vet or poison control center.
Typically the vet will recommend a dilute lemon juice or vinegar and water solution to attempt to neutralize the chemical until you can get the dog to the clinic or animal hospital. Do not give any human medications to a dog as they can have severe reactions to “people medicines”. Always bring the label form the item, whenever possible, to the vet with the dog.

If the substance is not caustic, it is important to try to get the dog to get the poison out of his or her system. The easiest way is to induce vomiting, which can be done through the oral administration of hydrogen peroxide. Be sure to only use the 3% hydrogen peroxide mixture and give about 1 teaspoon or 5ccs or 5mls per 10 pounds of dog’s body weight. Use an oral syringe if possible and squirt the hydrogen peroxide to the back of the mouth over the top of the tongue. If you don’t have a syringe, a turkey based can be used. Don’t give more than the recommended dosage as hydrogen peroxide can also cause complications. The dog will typically vomit within a few minutes. If the dog is not swallowing, is comatose or is having difficulty in breathing or standing don’t administer hydrogen peroxide unless under the direct supervision of your vet. Immediately get the dog to your vet after they have vomited.

Contact Poisons

If your dog has touched something poisonous the best option is usually to wash the area with warm, soapy water using baby shampoo or specialized dog shampoo. For tar or paint on the coat first apply a generous amount of Vaseline or petroleum jelly to remove as much of the substance as possible. The coat may need to be clipped or even shaved to completely remove the substance if the Vaseline doesn’t do the trick. Follow with a soapy wash with warm but not hot water, followed by a thorough rinse with clear, warm water.

Pearly Penile Papules Removal – How To Remove PPP Exposed

Are you sick and tired of your PPP that you simply hope for a miracle for pearly penile papules removal? Well, you are not alone. The truth is, many people, in fact… 25% of the male population have PPP and many have found a way to have them removed.

Before we go into some of the ways to remove your pearly penile papules, it is important to note that PPP are not a form of disease nor is it a form of HPV virus.

That is to say, having PPP is totally normal and healthy. They do not pose any threat or harm to your health nor are they infectious. This is important because in the end, it will help you make an informed decision if you should have them removed or treated.

The only thing about PPP is that most guys are afraid that their partners will think or associate their PPP with genital warts during intimacy. because of this, PPP sufferers usually suffers from the lack of sexual confidence, which usually takes a toll out of their self esteem and affects their confidence in front of the ladies.

Other than that, there is no way having PPP can affect a person’s life.

There are 2 different methods for pearly penile papules removal.

The most effective way is to remove them surgically. PPP sufferers can choose from a list of surgery options that will help them remove their PPP safely from the ridge glands of the penis.

Surgical options is by far, the more effective way of removing PPP because it “cuts” the PPP away instead of trying to “treat” or cure them.

The advance in laser technology also means that these little papules are being micro targeted, thus, leaving the rest of the “unaffected” area unharmed. This means that after the surgery, you will have a nice clean, papules free penis without any signs of scarring.

The only thing about doing it surgically is that the cost is usually a lot higher, costing up to a few thousand dollars at times. Because the papules are “cut”, the penis will become sore and swollen. It also takes about 2 weeks to ease the swell and pain.

However, many swear that the end results is worth the agony.

Another way that many have seen significant success with when it comes to pearly penile papules removal is the home removal method.

These methods or options are usually not as effective as surgery because they do not “cut” the papules, but rather, manipulate the compound structure of the papules.

The fact that there are multiple reasons and causes for the development of PPP, not all home remedies will work for all cases of PPP.

That is to say, different people will experience different levels of success with different home remedies.

One of the more popular and effective way of removing pearly penile papules at home is using alpha hydroxyl acid, aka AHA for short.

In order to make this work, it is important that the following steps are observed:

First, before buying the AHA cream from the pharmacy, ask for one that is of lower concentration. After at which, purchase a box of cotton buds, one that is usually used for the clearing of ear wax.

Using the cotton bud, pad a little AHA cream onto the papules. It is important that you try to avoid touching the non affected areas to prevent any discoloration or swelling.

Repeat 2 times a day.

You should be able to see the papules drying up and it is extremely important that you allow them to fall off by themselves to prevent any possibility of scarring.
