Oxycontin Overdose and Its Harmful Effect

Oxycontin is a specialized medicine that has been formulated to be basically a pain killer and give relef from very high and severe pains, this medicine was developed with the sole purpose to treat mild, a little medium as well as very sever pain.

The drug Oxycontin was originally developed in a laboratory in Germany , some hundred years back, in the year 1916, although it is a wonderful painkiller and extracts all the pain like magic, the Oxycontin overdose has disproportionate and extreme side effects which could also get fatal. Therefore it is advised to never to use it without a proper prescription from a medical professional or your family physian.

This drug is often also used to several other purposes than just being a normal pain killer, Oxycontin can also be prescribed by your general physician when he is treating his patient for other fatal diseases. This drug is also used to cure diarrhea, diabetic neuropathy, post herpetic neuralgia, unilateral total knee arthroplasty, osteoarthritis, ambulatory laparoscopic tubal ligation surgery and abdominal or gynecological surgery, it is only the dosage of the medicine that changes, keeping in mind how severe is a particular disease, but even then extra care is taken that it does not result in an Qxycontin overdose.

That this medicine is a boon for so many diseases is just one side of the entire story, the darker and more grave side of the story says that this drug is habit forming, Oxycontin overdose alters the human brain in such a way that they get an Oxycontin addiction, the person mentally and physically gets dependent on this drug, the mind of the addict starts to rely more and more on this medicine and the person develops a deep craving for this drug and it becomes impossible then to stay away from it.

Oxycontin is a high alert drug, which generally comes in the form of tablets. These tablets are like magic, when they are broken, or chewed for a longtime or even if they are crushed, they cause an immense amount of oxycodone to be released, that results in a Oxycontin overdose that is certainly very harmful, also if an Oxycontin addiction is clubbed with alcohol and some interacting drugs then it might also be a cause of death.

Oxycontin addiction has a lot of severe side effects, which are listed here: severe breathing problems, Euphoria, loss of memory, nausea, loss of vision, Insomnia, diaphoresis, pruritus, it can even lead to impotence.

Any drug is useful only in a limit, excess of anything is hazardous, be it an Oxycontin addiction or something else.

How to get rid of tonsil stones without gagging

Tonsil stones can be removed at home without gagging. How is it possible?

Tonsil stones are an accumulation of food debris as well as dead cells which somehow stick and grow on your tonsils. They start forming white chunks. As more and more debris accumulates these chunks grow and cause more health problems.

Cause of tonsil stones is the collection of mucous and bacteria in the tonsil crypt. Small tonsil stones do not cause any symptoms. Even when they are large, some tonsil stones are only discovered through X-rays or CAT scans. The symptoms are sore throat, white debris, a bad taste in the back of the throat, difficulty swallowing, ear ache and tonsil swelling. The best way to remove your tonsil stones without gagging is through home remedies.

Get rid of tonsil stones without gagging naturally

Home remedies are commonly categorized as 1) Conventional home remedies 2) Improvised Home remedies.

Conventional Home remedies commonly known as traditional natural methods are less effective as it takes more time to remove stones from your tonsils.

Improvised home remedies are found to be more effective & quick to remove tonsil stones, within hours. They cure the root cause of tonsil stone formation & so you can get rid your tonsil stones.

There are a lot of natural treatments available to get rid of  tonsilloliths without gagging and most of them are found to be effective. The water pic procedure is a method that rinses out the area, causing the chunks to dislodge from the tonsillar crypts and eventually pass through normal body processes. Gargling with water mixed with salt can often be done until the chunks go out.

A tonsillectomy is prescribed to those having serious issues and gargling is not enough to get rid of them. Make sure that you do proper oral hygiene. Natural treatment for t-stones is highly recommended, as it is much safer compared to other surgery. Get rid of your tonsil stones by improvised home remedies and get rid of bad breath for ever.

Beginners Jump Rope Workouts

In case you missed the scoop, using a skipping rope is one of the best exercises you can do to help you remain in shape, reduce weight and be healthy. It’s simple, easy to learn, inexpensive, readily accessible, can be done almost anywhere and anytime and most of all is safe and reliable. And while you can do fancy techniques like double unders, turns and crossovers, simple jumping rope exercises are as effective for delivering results as a lot more challenging ones.

Making use of a jumping rope offers a lot of advantages it’s hard to list them in one single, short, article but here are a few of the main ones to give you an idea as to just exactly how powerful jumping ropes can be!

• Enhanced heart and lung condition

• Enhanced heart and lung health and wellness

• Improved stamina

• Stronger leg muscles

• Stronger shoulders and arms

• Good for burning calories and therefore managing your weight

• Improves your coordination and balance

• Improves eye-hand-foot coordination

• Increases bone mass and strength

• Jumping ropes are very portable, hardwearing and excellent value for money

• You can skip anywhere and anytime

As you can see, it’s a long list! But, if you are new to skipping, what is the best jumping rope workout to start with? If you take a look around YouTube.com, you’ll discover all kinds of video clips of people doing the most remarkable and complex jumping rope routines and while these are very cool to look at, they do not represent exactly what most people do with their jumping ropes.

Don’t feel that you are missing out due to the fact that you can’t do these tricks– as pointed out before; basic skipping exercises are just as effective as the more showy moves.

In order of difficulty, here are the five best jumping rope exercises for beginners…

• Two-footed double jumps

For this workout, you keep your feet with each other and allow yourself an extra “mini jump” between rope turns. This allows you to swing the rope a little bit more slowly and gives you opportunity to master skipping at a moderate pace. In your mind count “one and two”– the “and” being your mini jump in between turns. Once you have mastered this standard workout, it’s time to move on.

• Two-footed jumps

Spin the rope a little faster and you won’t have time for your mini jump so now it’s time to drop it and do one jump each turn. Again, keep your feet with each other and stay on the balls of your feet. Keep low to the ground and only just clear the rope. The jump should come from your ankles rather than your knees and remember to keep your shoulders down and arms relaxed.

• Two-footed side to side jumps

Rather than just bouncing up and down on your feet, begin to shift your weight a little from side to side. You’ll still come down on both feet but your weight will land more on one foot. Push your hips from side to side as you shift your weight.

• Boxers’ skip

Ready to look like a pro? From side to side jumps, lift your non-weight-bearing foot and tap your heel a little on the ground in front of you. In aerobics, this is called a heel dig. Do a single double-footed jump in between heel digs so your feet go left heel, both feet, right heel, both feet. As soon as you feel confident, drop the double footed jump and go for alternating heels.

• Knee ups

Lastly, switch over from heel digs to knee lifts. It’s basically the same step but you are lifting your knee up so your heel is clear of the floor. Start with low knee lifts and work toward pulling your thigh up to parallel to the floor. Use the same left, both, right rhythm you used before then slowly wean yourself off the double footed jump till you have the ability to do alternating high knee ups.

These five exercises are the best jumping rope exercises for beginners and give an excellent training effect despite their simplicity. If you only ever did these jumping rope moves, you would still gain enormous benefits from your jumping rope training.

The Medical Benefits of L-arginine

Arginine or L-Arginine is considered a semi-essential amino acid that is obtained from the diet and is necessary for protein synthesis in the body. It helps the body get rid of ammonia, helps in making compounds such as creatine, L-glutamate, L-Proline and Glucose. Arginine is a pre-cursor to nitric oxide, which is a biological gas required for intra-cellular communication and blood vessel relaxation.

L-arginine is produced in the kidneys and to a lesser extent, in the liver. Dietary sources of this amino acid are dairy products, meat, poultry, walnuts, Brazil nuts, almonds, sesame and sunflower seeds, raisins, gelatin, cereals, oats, and coconut. In general, plant proteins contain more L-Arginine than animal sources of protein. While most people have adequate amount of L-arginine in their bodies, certain conditions such as infections, severe wounds, burns etc can deplete the arginine supply in the body. Under such conditions, it is essential to take L-Arginine supplements or increase the amount of plant and animal proteins in your diet.

Some symptoms of Arginine deficiency include alopecia (hair loss), skin rashes, constipation, poor wound healing and fatty liver. Various studies suggest that L-Arginine can treat physical ailments such as chest pain, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, peripheral vascular disease, erectile dysfunction, blood vessel swelling and so on.

Significance of L-Arginine: Arginine is required for a wide variety of functions in the body. These include – quick wound healing, assisting the kidneys in waste removal and maintaining Immune and Hormonal Functions. Arginine has also garnered a lot of attention for its heart benefits. Here is a look at the other benefits offered by L-Arginine and how its supplementation could help you:

Growth hormone deficiencies such as Gigantism, Pituitary Adenoma etc can be treated with Arginine injections.Proper dosage of L-arginine can improve blood flow in the arteries, and effectively treat coronary heart diseases.Studies of L-Arginine in patients suffering from chronic heart failures have also shown remarkable results. It is known to improve exercise tolerance in such patients.Arginine combined with Ibuprofen can decrease migraine headaches and provide quick relief.

In case of leg pain caused by formation of plaque or blood clots in the leg arteries, L-Arginine therapy can help. It prevents formation of clots and also relieves the pain, thus improving the patient’s ability to walk long distances.Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) is an inherited metabolic disorder characterized by formation of myelin sheaths (fatty coverings) on nerve fibers in the brain, and progressive destruction of adrenal glands. Studies show that Arginine injections can help manage this condition to a significant extent.

Arginine is known to improve immune function and protein function in patients who have suffered severe burns or infections.Intravenous L-arginine can increase blood flow in patients with critical limb ischemia, a condition caused by improper blood flow to the arms and legs.Arginine supplements can greatly decrease the severity of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. It can also help in controlling the other complications associated with diabetes such as heart problems and nerve damage.

Erectile Dysfunction in men is usually a result of low nitrate levels in the blood or urine. L-Arginine supplements increases the amount of Nitric Oxide in the blood, thus treating erectile dysfunction and other related problems. It is also known to increase sexual stamina in both men and women.Arginine supplements can temporary widen the arteries and reduce blood pressure levels in patients with high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.L-arginine dietary sources in combination with Canola oil can decrease rejection rate in kidney transplant patients.

Arginine can stimulate the production of growth hormones – testosterone and IGF. As you grow older, the production of these hormones diminishes, leading to wrinkles and aging. Arginine supplementation helps in maintaining skin’s elasticity, giving it a younger and vibrant look.Arginine is known to assist in wound healing and increasing the rate of recovery in patients who have undergone a surgery for cancer. For quicker healing of external wounds, arginine-based creams/powder can also be directly applied to the skin.

The list of benefits offered by L-arginine is endless. Not only does it help in treating a variety of physical ailments, but is also essential for several biological functions including protein synthesis and waste removal from the body. The Food and Drug Administration has not recommended any specific dosage for Arginine, as each individual’s need may vary depending upon their age and health condition.

When administered in appropriate amounts, L-arginine does not pose any risk and is quite safe. However, some people might experience side effects such as abdominal pain, cramping, allergies, inflammation and low blood pressure. It is best to consult a health practitioner to find out the right dosage of L-arginine that your body needs, and the best form of supplementation for you.

The Truth About the Lump in the Throat

Everyone gets that familiar lump in the throat on the verge of every emotional outburst. When we are about to cry, scream or shout, this noticeable lump forms in our throat and sees to prevent us from breathing or even saying a word. What is this lump really?

Well the lump in our throat is not really a lump after all. It is purely a physical sensation we get when our throttle to carry out two opposite functions at the same time. This is the same sensation we feel when we become emotional or are about to cry. Prior to an emotional outburst, natural human instinct brings us into a fight-or-flight state. Trigger factors such as the stressrought about by fear or anger causes our heart to pump a lot harder. As a result, our lungs work double time to keep up with the pumping and our vocal chords stretch wide open to accommodate the larger gulps of air we have to take in to feed our lungs.

In the middle of our larynx is an opening that works like a valve which allows air to pass through into the lungs upon intake. This opening called the glottis is what temporarily closes up when we swallow. Our vocal chords are responsible for direct control over the glottis. It is at its largest when we scream and is at its smallest when we swallow.

The sensation of that lump in the throat occurs when, prior to that emotional outburst, we take in deep breaths. The action forces the glottis to be at its largest. At the same time, just before crying, we attempted to swallow the tears that are coming, which forces the vocal chords to compress on the glottis. Our vocal chords perform two contrast functions, compressing and expanding at the same time, and we feel that tension as the lump in our throat.

Causes and Complications of Toe Amputation

Toe amputations may be necessary for several reasons.  Infection is perhaps the most common cause for infection and is often associated with foot problems relating to diabetes.  In addition to infection, toes may need to be amputated due to trauma, loss of blood supply (a condition formally referred to as ischemia) or nerve injury.  Sometimes toes are amputated due to a foot deformity.  Infants can be born with extra toes, in which case it is often easier to remove the toe in infancy rather than deal with the difficulty of finding shoes that fit later on in life.  Other foot deformities such as underlapping toes and overlapping toes are sometimes corrected with amputation.  Amputation is usually a last resort for these conditions and is only used when the procedure necessary to correct the problem would cause more trauma to the body than the amputation.  The most commonly amputated toe in these situations is the little toe.

Occasionally toe amputation is also necessary to prevent the spread of bone or skin cancer.  The idea is that the diseased flesh must be removed in order to safeguard the health of the rest of the body.

Your podiatrist, surgeon and doctor will explain in detail the specifics of your amputation procedure.  The extent of recovery, of course, depends on which toes and how many toes are amputated.  Generally speaking, it is easier to recover from the amputation of one of the smaller toes than the big toe.  Also:  the fewer toes amputated, the less your body will be aversely affected.

Most people find that they are able to maintain full mobility.  People with amputated big toes may have some difficulty when they attempt to run or increase the speed of their gait.  This is because the body uses the big toe to push off from the ground when it wants to accelerate.  If your big toe is amputated, your doctor should be able to help you in the rehabilitation process.

Other possible complications may arise if the second toe is amputated.  Sometimes a deformity known as hallux valgus develops.  This deformity occurs when the bone structure of the big toe changes permanently so that the big toe angles toward the outside of the foot.  Rather than pointing straight forward, the toe veers off on a diagonal, occupying the space once occupied by the second toe.  If you have had or are planning to have your second toe amputated, talk with your doctor about ways to prevent this deformity from developing.

Anxiety Panic Disorder – Bad Anxiety Panic Attacks, Good People

Anxiety panic disorder is an abrupt wave of overpowering fear that comes without warning and for no apparent reason. Normally an anxiety panic disorder is unfortunately a symptom of another form of anxiety panic disorder. Discovering your triggers can be a excellent opportunity for self discovery, so in a sense, anxiety panic symptoms, though frightening, do have a beneficial side-effect.

One long thought myth is that Anxiety panic disorders were caused by medical problems, such as heart disease. In reality, a anxiety panic attack is brought on by a person's outlook of things and behavior patterns. So un-learning the condition that cause the attacks very often is all it takes to cure the attacks.

The exact cause of anxiety panic disorder is unknown to caregivers. There are about as many theories about the causes of a anxiety panic attack as there are stars in the sky. Each person may have a different cause for their anxiety panic disorder. Because the cause is unclear, many people believe that they will simply have to live with the attacks.

People suffering from anxiety panic disorder report the following symptoms:

* Difficulty breathing, as if you can not get enough air in your lungs

* Debilitating terror

* Nervousness

* Feeling you're going crazy

* Heart palpitation,

* Feeling of dread

* Dizziness

* Nausea

* Trembling, sweating, shaking

* Chest pains

* Hot flashes or sudden chills

* Tingling in fingers or ores

A person experiencing anxiety panic disorder will feel as though they are about to die when these symptoms are combined. Because the anxiety epidemic attack can mimic a variety of health conditions, they are often misdiagnosed for years. Some of these conditions are:

– Seizures

– Heart arrhythmia

It is not uncommon for people to jump from physician to physician because of the impersonation ability of the anxiety panic attack.

Today we have a large variety of programs and techniques available to us for the treatment of anxiety panic disorder, some of these are:

** Medication

** Cognitive therapy

** Breathing exercises

** Massages

** Lifestyle changes.

Without treatment, anxiety panic disorder very seldom improves. An example of a good treatment program to decrease the cycle in both anxiety panic disorder and anxiety panic attack is the "Panic Away" program. It is specifically designed for you to eliminate anxiety panic disorder from your life once and for all.

Some treatment regimes may take months to make sure your anxiety panic disorder does not come back. You would be required to attend mental health treatment and / or take medication. Your decision for a good anxiety panic disorder treatment is extremely important, so choose well.

I know from personal experience how devastating anxiety panic attack can be and the paralyzing fright these attacks can cause. However, you should seek competent assistance when the anxiety panic attack becomes more frequent, and begin to affect other aspects of your life. Understand, You Are Never Alone. Believe it or not, you do not have to live with panic attack disorder and anxiety panic attack.

Type 2 Diabetes – Dental Problems Affecting People With Diabetes

According to the Journal of Dental Practice, February 2017, seeing the dentist twice a year is important for more than oral care. It can indicate the possible presence of Type 2 diabetes. Scientists at the University of Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, and several other research institutions in Brazil compared 116 Type 2 diabetic dental participants with 134 nondiabetic dental participants. Oral problems were seen more often in the people who had a Type 2 diabetes diagnosis.

The problems most often are seen were…

  • pseudomembranous candidiasis,
  • lichen planus,
  • lingual varices,
  • xerostomia (dry mouth), and
  • inflamed implants.

The researchers concluded oral lesions should be diagnosed as soon as possible in those with Type 2 diabetes for two reasons. Dental problems can lead to out-of-control blood sugar levels, and dental problems can allow microorganisms to enter and form infections. The researchers go on to recommend dental treatment should be carried out as soon as possible.

Pseudomembranous candidiasis is a fungal infection which forms white plaques in the mouth. The fungal species Candida can be found in the mouth of healthy people but can cause infection in patients with compromised immune systems. Diabetic patients are susceptible to infection because high and unstable blood sugar levels impair the immune system.

Lichen planus takes place in the mouth and on the skin. In the mouth, it appears as tiny, lace-like white patches or redness and swelling. They can peel, and sores can cause burning pain. It has been suggested lichen planus could be due to the hepatitis C virus. When a metal filling is involved switching to nonmetal can be curative.

Xerostomia is oral dryness caused by lack of saliva. Anyone with the condition is susceptible to infections because they do not make enough saliva to keep their mouth clean. Signs and symptoms include…

  • a sensation of dryness,
  • stringy saliva,
  • having difficulty with swallowing or speaking,
  • bad breath,
  • tooth decay,
  • gum disease, and
  • a change in the sense of taste.

Implants can become inflamed when bacteria grow around them, just as it can around natural teeth. Keeping blood sugar levels under control help to prevent bacteria from growing. Bacteria grow when saliva provides it with energy in the form of sugar. As the bacteria grow and multiply, the compromised immune system is unable to fight the infection.

When the above dental problems are diagnosed, especially in people at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes, then blood sugar levels need to be measured. Factors putting people at risk include…

  • being overweight or obese,
  • smoking or air pollution,
  • a family history,
  • a history of Gestational diabetes or having had a baby weighing 9 pounds or over,
  • poor nutrition,
  • age at least 45 years,
  • African, Hispanic, American Indian, Asian or Pacific Islander heritage,
  • having high blood pressure, and
  • leading a sedentary lifestyle.

Have You Become A Couch Potato? Get Active Again

The term "couch Potato" started in America, and was a reflection of the increasing amount of time the average person was now spending watching television. It may sound like a comical reference or even an affectionate term, but it highlights a huge problem in today's society. As a generation, we tend to be living a more sedentary lifestyle, and not getting enough exercise. Our lack of activity coupled with a poor diet has led to increased levels of heart disease and obesity, there has never been a greater need for change.

Have You Turned Into A Couch Potato?

You may be reading this and thinking that it does not apply to you, but how do you know if you have become a couch potato?

If any of the following statements relate to you, then you are well on your way to becoming one: –

Watching television is your main or only pastime, accounting for the major of your spare time.

You watch television after you finish work until bedtime and put in double shifts at weekends.

You have a very active lifestyle and never exercise or walk anywhere.

Do you drive to work, the corner shop and everywhere else?

Do you make excuses for your laziness such as the weather or being tired etc.?

Do you do next to nothing in the house or at all. Other than your job?

Do you have a desk job or a role that involves no physical activity, and are still very active outside of your job?

If some of the points apply to you or you are starting to see a pattern emerging, then you probably are a bit of a couch potato. Your sedentary lifestyle is putting your health at risk, and being tired should not be used as an excuse for being inactive.

Get Moving – Take The First Steps To An Active Lifestyle

Here is a revelation, body movement creates energy. Sitting around for hours drains you of energy, leaving you lethargic and good for nothing. Recognizing that you have a problem and take positive action today. I do not expect you to go from an inactive lifestyle to training for a marathon, trying to do too much will just lead to failure. Making small changes to your lifestyle will be easier to stick to, eventually becoming good habits and then allowing you to make more changes. Here are a few simple ideas:

Start walking to work and the local shops.

Turn the TV off for an hour each evening and go and do something active.

Take up a new hobby or take up a physical sport you used to play and enjoy.

Turn down the lift and start taking the stairs.

Go for a walk in your lunch hour.

Take a bike ride or go swimming with the family.

Whatever you choose to do, just make sure that you start doing something. Regular activity will give you bags of energy and make you feel great. You do not have to live the life of a couch potato, get motivated, get active and get healthy.

Employee Motivation – The 5 Factors That Drive Performance

Employee motivation is a mystery for many managers. But, it doesn’t have to be. Instead, understanding how motivation impacts employee performance, and understanding how to use motivation to improve performance can be reduced to five master keys. Organizations desiring to improve employee motivation need a system in place that consistently rewards employee achievements. I’m always surprised how few organizations have such a system.

However, not all employees respond to the same motivations. Each person has his or her own likes and dislikes, passions, interests and desires. The role of the successful manager is to learn how to identify what motivates each employee, and learn how to leverage those motives to simultaneously fulfill the goals of the organization, as well as the goals of each employee.

The five key employee motivation factors include: satisfaction, appreciation, recognition, inspiration and compensation.

1. Employee Motivation By Building Satisfaction

In their book “The Service Profit Chain,” James Heskett, W. Earl Sasser, and Leonard Schlesinger make a compelling case that regardless your business, the only way to generate sustained profits is to build a work environment that attracts, focuses, and keeps talented employees. In other words, they have to be motivated to show up, get committed and perform at a level of excellence.

Employee motivation as it relates to employees satisfaction is vitally important. And, it goes way beyond just a “happier workforce.” Why?

Because there is an undeniable link between satisfied, motivated employees, and satisfied customers. In other words, focus on creating satisfied employees, focus on employee motivation, and those motivated, satisfied employees will take care of your customers.

2. Employee Motivation Through Genuine Appreciation

At times, managers unknowingly sabotage employee motivation by failing to recognize the positive behaviors and achievements of their employees. As a result, employees don’t know whether or not they are doing a good job.

I recently had an employee of an organization tell me, “The only time we ever hear anything from management is when we do something wrong!”

Fortunately, savvy managers can improve employee motivation by rewarding employees with personal attention. This can include a pat on the back, a hand-written note, or a quick comment in the hall.

When showing appreciation, be specific. Instead of just saying, “We really are grateful for the good job you do around here,” the approach might be, “I really appreciate how you handled the Franklin Industries account last week when we had to get their rush order out late Friday afternoon. Your effort really made a difference.”

By being specific, the employer comes across as much more sincere, and the employee realizes their actions are truly being watched. And, a highly level of employee motivation is the natural result.

3. Employee Motivation Through Recognition

Many people will do for recognition what they will not do for money. And, this is the manager’s secret weapon for employee motivation. Some people are motivated by the opportunity to get their name on the wall, receive a trophy at an annual banquet, or see their name in the company newsletter. It gives them an “emotional payoff” for their actions.

Look for ways to increase employee motivation by recognizing excellence in the workplace. Ring a bell every time an individual or team hits the production target. Put up posters with the photographs of team members who have had the most days without accidents. Give out awards for attendance records. Just do something. It is so inexpensive, yet highly effective in your efforts of employee motivation.

4. Employee Motivation Through Inspiration

Inspiration comes from leadership. This form of employee motivation includes the company’s mission, purpose and goals. People want to be part of an organization that is going somewhere, that stands for something, and that provides a meaningful service to the marketplace.

If you want to lead an inspired, mission-guided organization, follow these steps and watch employee motivation improve dramatically.

Have a clear mission – in other words, know where you are going.

Be excited and passionate about your mission. After all, if you don’t get excited, they won’t either.

Be able to communicate the mission, it’s value to the marketplace. In other words, why it’s worthwhile.

Make sure everyone in the organization understands and can communicate the mission.

Be sure employees understand how they fit into the process of fulfilling the organization’s mission.

Make the connection between the mission and the individual values and goals of your employees.

Keep your mission in front of everyone in the organization.

5. Employee Motivation Through Compensation

Some employees are motivated by money. In fact, most are motivated by money; at least for their basic needs. Employee motivation through compensation can come in the form of raises, performance bonuses, commissions, profit sharing, or any number of “extra benefits” like, automobiles, vacations, or other tangible items purchased and used as rewards.

I noticed an interesting program in a hotel where I recently stayed. They have a sophisticated system for rewarding employees based on customer feedback. Throughout the hotel, they have placed customer feedback forms and boxes for depositing the forms. When customers comment on the performance of a hotel employee, the employee accumulates points that can be used to purchase rewards like trips, gifts, and other incentives.

Taking Action On Employee Motivation

Whatever the chosen method, it is important to have a system in place that builds employee motivation. Not every person is motivated by the same factor, or combination of factors. Offering all five – satisfaction, appreciation, recognition, inspiration and compensation insures that the organization has something to contribute to the motivation of each employee.

Worrying And Hives On The Skin

The link between hives and stress or worrying has been well-established. The truth is that our mental state can have a significant impact on the way our bodies respond physically. Many people have experienced hives, usually because of an allergic reaction but that is not always the case. There have been a number of studies to suggest that there is a significant link between stress and developing hives on the skin. Simply being consumed by stress is enough to affect your body in different ways, including the presentation of red blotchy areas in different parts of the body.

There are different types of hives, including those which are called “physical urticaria”. After the blotches on the skin begin to appear, they start to get itchy and turn red with quite a bit of irritation around the entire area. Those who work especially hectic jobs and are always on the go might experience problems with this skin condition. People who worry a lot and have quite a bit of stress in their lives are definitely more susceptible to this condition than those who are relaxed most of the time. Around exam time some people get headaches, hives or other somatic reactions to feeling overwhelmed.

Although it is true that there are many different things that can trigger this type of skin irritation, stress is definitely one of them and it can be prevented in a number of ways. In order to cut down on the amount of stress in one’s life, there are a number of solutions, including meditation and certain breathing exercises. People who start to see red patches popping up all over their body will want to entertain the possibility that it could be due to a high-stress lifestyle. Hives actually change locations and don’t usually stay in same area for more than a day or two.

Usually people who have problems with this often see them go away after they start to cut back on hours at work and take certain measures to ensure that they are not worrying all the time. Stress can definitely take a toll on a person’s body over time, and if you want to stay healthy and avoid the itching and irritation that comes with this problem you will need to think about your options. Getting treatment could mean slowing down the pace of your lifestyle or having counseling in order to find more effective ways to deal with daily stress.

Earache Remedy

Aches and pains associated with earaches are due to a combination of fluid and inflammation lodged within the middle ear that fails to drain. Such obstruction applies pressure to the eardrum. Within the fluid, a bacterium propagates and develops. A home remedies for earache in this instance is to obtain a natural substance labeled colloidal silver. Peel 2 cloves of garlic and mix them with two teaspoons of mustard oil. Heat the mixture until the garlic turns black and then turn the heat off. Strain and cool until lukewarm. Ideally, it should be warm enough that it gives a good amount of heat, but not too hot. If it feels like it’ll scald your hand in 3 seconds, it’s too much. On the other hand, if it’s not warm enough, the whole method would not be effective.

Hydrogen Peroxide solution can be considered if you are very sure that the earache is caused by an excessive buildup of earwax in the ear canal. If so, then pour a few drops of the Hydrogen Peroxide solution into the ear and leave it for a few minutes for it to dissolve the earwax, then drain both the solution and the dissolved earwax out onto a piece of tissue paper. Try Using Antifungal Drugs to Treat Acne

In looking for new acne treatments, an unexpected finding by medical scientists was that antifungal drugs kill the bacteria that cause acne (Propionibacterium). This has been forgotten lately and really you should mention this to your doctor or dermatologist on your next visit if you are finding your present treatment is not working. Fungi that cause infections are known as dermatophytes and reside in tissue that can be found in many parts of the body including: your nails, the outer surface of your skin, and your hair. As we know, the bacterium Propionibacterium acnes is the causative agent of acne vulgaris and conventionally antibiotics, such as tetracyclines are used to treat acne; however, the antibiotic-resistant P. acnes has been increasing dramatically, so eventually they won’t work. The anti- Propionibacterium activity of Imidazole (antifungal agents) was reported more than 25 years ago, and since then, new Azole antifungal agents have been marketed, for example, Miconazole, Ketoconazole, and Itraconazole showed anti-P. acnes activity, including against the antibiotic-resistant bacteria residing on our skin.

Antifungal drugs attack the small components of the fungal cells. For example, Flucytosine is used to treat serious and systemic fungal infections. When the drug moves into a fungal cell, it is converted to a substance that stops the fungi from growing and replicating. Similarly, the antifungal drug Clotrimazole, treats fungal infections by stopping the fungi from making a chemical called ergosterol. This causes small holes to appear in the cell walls of the fungi, allowing unwanted toxic substances in and letting vital cell components out. This stops the fungi from living and kills the infection.

Systemic oral antifungal drugs, such as Fluconazole (Diflucan), Itraconazole (Sporanox), Ketoconazole (Nizoral), and Miconazole (Monistat I.V.) are available only by prescription form your doctor or dermatologist. They are available in tablet, capsule and liquid forms. Topical skin antifungal treatments are available without a doctor’s prescription and come in lots of forms, including, ointments, solutions, powders and sprays. Ointments and solutions are usually the most effective for treating acne and fungal infections of the skin, as they can get into the small fissures where bacteria and fungi grow.

The results, following the use of antifungal drugs in acne vulgaris, can be quite dramatic for some patients, particularly over the forehead, back and shoulders. The drugs can be taken orally and systemically, in combination, to give the full effect. Patients should still maintain their usual strict skin hygiene regimen, with good skin cleansing, good diet and lots of exercise. So when next visiting your doctor, mention the use of antifungal drugs, especially if you are finding your usual antibiotics etc. are not giving you good results, like they used to.

Black Toenail Fungus and How to Treat This Type of Fungus

Who Suffers From Black Toenail Fungus?

Black toenail fungus is more common than you think. It’s common among people who walk around barefoot in public places and also in athletes and people who are over the age of 65. Basically, anyone whose feet are damp and moist a lot is at a higher risk for black toenail fungus. If your job requires that your feet be constantly exposed to moisture, dry your feel regularly and change your socks frequently.

What are the Symptoms of Black Toenail Fungus?

Symptoms often include black spots on the toenail. Unfortunately there are many other reasons as to why someone might have black spots on their toenails. Athletes often experience bruising during games or if someone steps on their toes. Choosing to wear shoes without socks or wearing sandals, open-toed shoes or no shoes at all in public locker rooms, bathrooms and other similar places can be the reason why someone may suffer from black toenail fungus.

Fungus is found in warm damp places, which is why black toenail fungus is a common affliction. Fungus can enter through small cuts or openings around or underneath the toenail.

Though you will find that there is a lot of information regarding over-the-counter treatments and home remedies for black toenail fungus, the odds of such treatments working to cure black toenail fungus are slim to none. Even if those treatments do work, they are not a cure and the toenail fungus is likely to return.

Seek out the advice and help of a certified healthcare provider for the best treatment options. Often times, we end up spending a lot of time and money on treatments with little to no results. Your doctor can take a sample of the infected toenail to determine exactly which type of fungus it’s infected with and can then put you on the right course of treatment specific to that infection.

You may be given a topical treatment in conjunction with (or by itself) an oral medication. The right course of treatment should begin to work within two to four weeks, but it can be two or more months before the full results take effect.

Since fungus thrives in moist places, the first obvious rule of prevention is to observe good hygiene, washing regularly, and making sure to thoroughly dry your feet after washing. Keeping your toenails trimmed, but not trimmed too short will also help in preventing black toenail fungus because you are less likely to create small cuts near or under the toenail.

Avoid walking barefoot in public and change your socks often. Talc and other drying powders can be helpful in keeping moisture levels down. Be sure to wash your shoes regularly if possible, but make sure they are completely dry before wearing them again.
