There is a common myth amongst adult aged people that once you reach your adult age, it is not possible to increase your height because your body is done growing.
I want to clear this myth up by saying that it actually is possible to increase your height even if you are considered a full grown adult. There are certain stretching techniques and exercises that can aid in increasing your overall body height by as much as 4 inches. While 4 inches is on the extreme, growth of 1-2 inches is quite common and is an attainable goal.
For these techniques to work however, the person needs one thing: A motivation or desire to grow taller. I’m not saying that if you simply repeat in your head a thousand times that you want to grow taller, that you magically grow taller. I’m saying that if you work hard on doing these exercises each day for a 15-20 minute period, you can expect to see some good results within 2 to 3 months.
Stretches and Exercises
There are roughly 20 exercises that you can do that will increase your height. These exercises include many stretches and workouts for your lower back and abdominal muscles. These groups of muscles are in charge of keeping you upright. If you have not strengthened the right areas, you will slouch which will shave inches of your max height.
Stretches like the Scorpions Tail and the Standing Pencil stretch (that’s what I call it) work by increasing the space between each vertebrae in your spine. While the space that it created is slight, multiplied throughout the length of your spine will increase your height by at least an inch total. Doing these stretches will also improve the general health of your back as well. You will be less likely to pull muscles or cause injury if you work on these stretches every day. Bad posture = less height + bad back!
I would say that 90% of people have no idea what good posture actually is. It is not simply standing up as straight as you can. It takes a lot of conscious effort over years of time for you to properly understand what good posture is for YOU. You can not get this by simply reading a book or looking at pictures, rather you need to work towards it. Bad posture…even minor, can cause you to lose inches of your maximum height. There are many posture exercises you can do that will help you increase your height.
