Oral yeast infection – sometimes called thrush – is an infection of the mucous membranes of the mouth and sometimes the throat of men and women.
The cause of this is a natural yeast called Candida albicans. The majority of people have this in their system without any problems because the body keeps it in check. However it can overgrow which is where the disease comes from.
A weakened immune system is often the reason that this happens. It can be from an existing disease, or even a course of antibiotics.
Often if you have a permanent invasive structure, such as dentures, this is what can cause candida in the mouth. People with dentures are far more likely to suffer than candida than those without.
There are some different symptoms associated with oral yeast infections – they can be white or yelowish color stains on th emouth and tongue, pain swallowing and sometimes bad breath. Other symptoms can also become apparent so you should check with your doctor.
There are some different treatments available over the counter and via prescription for yeats infections. Howver the porblme with these is that they simply alleviate the pain rather than working at the root cause of the infection. It is far better to get a treatment which remedies what has happened and prevails it from recoccuring.
In fact, candida can actually become resistant to over the counter treatments, which means that you are simply wasting your money.
The new advice is to take a herbal remedy which alleviates symptoms, clears them up and then keeps your body in balance to prevent reoccurance.
