How Floxies Get Floxxed

There are a large variety of possible Levaquin Side Effects, the most common being Levaquin Tendonitis and Achilles Tendon Rupture. ‘Floxies’ experience other possible side effects including spasm and cramping, anxiety and claustrophobia, muscle and tendon pain, tendon and ligament and joint degeneration, organ and brain damage, Tinnitus, etc.

This article lists various side effects of Levaquin and explains why they occur.

Levaquin Tendonitis: Levaquin pulls (depletes) a large amount of Magnesium from the body, damages mitochondria that create energy for the connective tissue cells, and can damage the DNA of connective tissue like tendon, ligament and joint structures.

So tendon cell literally starve and die, the body literally can’t relax muscle if it doesn’t have enough magnesium, and if the DNA is damaged, when new cells grow in they grow in damaged.

Thus tendon is damaged, muscles get tight and stay locked tight, and a person suffering from Levaquin Tendonits -does- technically heal, but the new cells are flawed so nothing ends up being any better. Then the body gets stuck in this dysfunction, AND the nervous system responds as it does to any pain, it creates more tightness and more pain. Thus you get stuck in a Downward Spiral of more pain, more tightness, etc.

Achilles Tendon Rupture: For some unknown reason, Levaquin most frequently attacks the Achilles Tendon. Lack of Magnesium and lack of cell energy production kills off tendon cells in huge amounts, so what was a super tough, strong, elastic tendon structure on Monday can become a so structurally degraded on Tuesday that it literally just falls apart.

Worst case scenario: You are laying in a hospital bed after surgery or while being treated for something like pneumonia, and while you are laying in bed taking Levaquin, your Achilles tendon literally falls apart before you even get up the next morning. This happens because the cells are attacked, killed, and lose all structural integrity.

Anxiety and Claustophobia: Levaquin pulls huge amounts of Magnesium. The case could be made that most people are already Magnesium insufficient or deficient. One of the symptoms of Magnesium deficiency is anxiety and nervousness. So in the vast majority of cases where anxiety is a side effect of Levaquin, the anxiety is caused simply because levaquin depletes the individual of magnesium, thus causing anxiety, nervousness, claustrophobia, panic, etc.

Tinnitis: One of the symptoms of Magnesium deficiency is Tinnitus, or ringing in the ears. This Tinnitus can simply be due to a sudden lack of Magnesium.

Connective Tissue Degeneration: Again, Levaquin (and Cipro or any other Quinolone antibiotic) depletes Magnesium and damages/kills mitochondria that keeps tendon cells alive, and can alter the DNA of connective tissue anywhere in the body. Taking Levaquin can cause connective tissue damage ANYWHERE in the body, even though it shows up most in Achilles tendons (and seems to be shoulder after that). So the knee, hips, shoulders, neck, elbows and wrist, spinal discs, internal organs, etc, are all fair game.

Organ and Brain Damage: See above. People suffering internal organ and brain damage issues rarely show up as official Levaquin Tendonitis statistics. It’s hard enough to get doctors to admit that Achilles Tendonitis is a direct result of a Levaquin prescription, so imagine how hard it is to get a Levaquin damage diagnosis for a more subtle, more ‘disease’ looking dynamic like that which shows up when Levaquin attacks internal organs or the brain and -not- a tendon.

Increased Yeast Infection: Quinolone antibiotics like Levaquin are powerful, broad spectrum antibiotics that kill off all/much of your bacteria, both the good and the bad. The problem is, good bacteria help keep bad bacteria at bay. And bad bacteria or more resistant to antibiotics. So all of a sudden bad bacteria has free reign to spread like wild fire. Hello recurring yeast infections!

Increased Bronchitis and Upper Respiratory Infection: Levaquin is frequently given to people with viral Bronchitis and Upper Respiratory infection (the common cold). But Levaquin only affects bacteria, not viral infections, and Bronchitis is VIRAL NOT BACTERIAL. Colds are viral not bacterial. So people are given Levaquin for a problem that it has no chance of helping, are put at risk for Levaquin side effects, and then their body is even LESS able fight off the original viral infection.

Chronic Prostate Infections: Levaquin is commonly given for Prostate infections. But Prostate infections are almost always viral (or fungal). So if you’ve taken antibiotics a couple of times and it hasn’t helped, you may want to reconsider taking more antibiotics. Imagine taking Levaquin, suffering seemingly permanent disabling pain and tendon damage, and then finding out that the Levaquin had ZERO chance of helping you in the first place.
