What are the possible cause of migraines? There are listed causes of the existence of migraine headaches for most people; some correlate the event with the sudden changes in the environment as the primary cause of the sudden headache caused by migraines. But it has been proven that the main cause and factor that affects the occurrence of the incident is the sudden alteration or shifting on the neurotransmitter of the brain known as the serotonin. The sudden changes and alterations on the level of the serotonin in the brain will greatly cause the shrinking as well as the swelling of the brain’s cortex that will eventually lead to the occurrence of severe headache affecting one or both side of the head accompanied commonly by several signs and symptoms such as nape pain, sensitivity to light, irritability to sounds, occipital pain, temporal pain and feeling of dizziness. The alleged abrupt changes that may took place with the brain’s neurotransmitter’s serotonin level is believed to be affected and triggered by hormonal changes in women especially during pregnancy.
