Can you increase bone density naturally? There is a lot of misinformation about this subject going around so it is important that you get the facts. For starters, you need to know just what bone density is and how it is affected. Hopefully, after reading this article, you’ll be able to make an informed decision and choose the course of action that is right for you.
Okay, so just what exactly is bone density? Technically, it is how much matter there is per square centimeter of bone. This measurement is used to determine the likelihood of a bone fracture or developing osteoporosis.
Medical bone density is not really a true density per say. There is a procedure called densitometry that is usually performed in hospitals or clinics inside their radiology department. If you’re concerned about having such a procedure done, don’t be. There is very little radiation exposure involved here and the procedure is relatively quite safe. Naturally, anytime radiation is involved (even when getting your teeth x-rayed) there is some risk.
Okay, so what exactly affects bone density? Well, it’s affected by a number of things. Diet for one. If your diet is too low in calcium and vitamin D. Your density can also be affected by hormonal changes. This is why so many women, after they reach menopause, develop osteoporosis. Certain diseases can also affect the density of your bones. Even heredity plays a role. If your mother and grandmother suffered from osteoporosis, there is a greater chance that you may as well.
So the next question is, what can we do about this naturally and safely? Well, here is where there is a lot of misinformation going around. Some say that taking hormone injections, such as HGH, can do the trick. The problem is, these injections are very dangerous…the reasons why are beyond the scope of this article. However, by naturally increasing the production of your HGH, which is produced by the pituitary gland, you can in effect, increase your bone density.
In my signature, you’ll find a free report that explains, in plain English, the facts about hormone injections versus naturally generating hormones through natural supplements. There IS a big difference.
