Steroids are commonly what people think of when they hear the word bodybuilding, they come in all sorts of forms like pills and syringes.
There is bull shark testosterone which comes from what happens to be the largest species shark, obviously if you take bull shark testosterone you wont just get bigger, you will also get some really weird side effects that are a result of the huge amount of testosterone in your body.
I actually have a few personal stories for you, one is about someone who did not even want to take steroids.
1. Enlarged Organs
A guy that I knew once told me a story about his father, when he was a kid his dad was a competitive bodybuilder.
His dad did not take steroids all the time, there was just a time when he needed to grow faster so that he would catch up to his competition. A few months later the guy’s mom got a call from the hospital, his dad had a heart attack, my friend was just a kid so just the thought that he might lose his dad was devastating to him.
He and his mom hurried to the hospital, the doctor said that his dad had a heart that was almost too big to fit into his chest, he wasn’t taking steroids excessively and yet they still caused him problems.
If you start taking steroids there is a chance that your heart might get too big for your chest.
2. “Feminization Of The Breast Tissue In Males”
Sometimes the use of steroids causes a guy’s chest to literally develop into boobs, I am not making this up, the medical term for this is Gynecomastia.
I will try to keep it simple because this topic is a bit complex. Basically the chemicals in steroids are converted from testosterone into estrogen, some of this stuff gets into your chest and over a few days it starts to develop into something you would not want to have as a man.
Having a big chest is a good thing, but I imagine when they start to turn into breasts anyone who gets them wont be too thrilled. It reminds me of that episode of Family Guy where Peter Griffin tried breastfeeding his son.
3. You Might Get REALLY Fat
whether steroids are legal wherever you live or not it does not matter, aside from bodybuilding steroids tend to be used for medical purposes.
A friend of mine who works at a hotel in a spa giving people massages, once told me about a customer of hers, this customer was an Israeli girl in her early 20s.
This girl took steroids for medical reasons and she told my friend her story. When she was in the Israel army she suffered a leg injury, it took about 3 months until she finally had a doctor check up on her and by then her leg was so far gone that she had 2 choices, either have the doc cut off her leg or take steroids…
The girl obviously did not want to lose her leg so she chose steroids, fast forward a couple of years later, her leg has healed, but she was as big as a HOUSE and she was not buff like a bodybuilder she just looked really REALLY FAT.
This kind of goes back to the point I made about the enlarged organs, you wont just get big muscles, the rest of you will also get bigger and you will get fat. I will quote what Gregg Valentino said about bodybuilders who use steroids(he is one himself), “its never what you see is what you get, its what you see is what they want you to see”.
To me bodybuilding is not all about steroids, to me its just about getting bigger naturally and staying healthy.
